With awards season heading into crunch time -- both the Screen Actors Guild Awards and Golden Globes will announce nominations next week -- A24 has put together another For Your Consideration advertisement for Franco's role in "Spring Breakers." The studio -- which is pushing Franco using the phrase "Consider This Sh-t," a play on one of his many "Spring Breakers" catchphrases -- has already released print advertisements for the performance, but this clip highlights the critical praise Franco earned for playing Alien in the Harmony Korine film.
"There will never be a movie or a character that is more important for this age than 'Spring Breakers' and its protagonist Alien," Franco wrote in his own review of "Spring Breakers" for Vice.com. "As Harmony Korine’s friend Werner Herzog said to me on the phone call of all phone calls -- I was out in North Carolina, sitting in a little Mexican restaurant called Cocula that I frequent on my lunch breaks from the low-residency writing MFA program at Warren Wilson College, just staring out the window that’s frosted over with a map of Mexico, at the dirty field across the roadway -- when he told me that my performance in the film made De Niro in 'Taxi Driver' look like a kindergartener, and that the film was the most important film of the decade. Imagine in a distinct German accent: 'Three hundred years from now, when people want to look back at dis time, dey won’t go to the Obama inauguration speech, dey will go to 'Spring Breakers.'"

After making her official solo debut with the double singles "One Way Love" and "Lonely," K-pop diva Hyorin delivered fans yet another treat with a cover of Beyonce's "End of Time," a fan-favorite off Bey's 2011 LP "4," during a live TV special.
The leader of K-pop girl group SISTAR -- at times referred to as the "Korean Beyonce" -- kicked off her performance with an instrumental mashing the beats of "End of Time" and "Run the World (Girls)" before moving into her cover. Impressively, the South Korea native performed every word of the English track, even hitting the quick, staccato notes after the second chorus.
In addition to nailing a few of Beyonce's powerful belts, the 22-year-old gave a nod to the "Single Ladies" singer's dance style. The K-diva incorporated Beyonce's signature hair flips and hip thrusts while adding in Hyorin's new "crab legs" move, seen in the music video for "One Way Love".
Hyorin's pronunciation isn't perfect, but for a non-native English speaker the cover is impressive. It will not only further fuel the Beyonce comparisons, but could also see a few Bey Hive members getting into Hyorin if they love hair flips, hip thrusts and diva belting.
I don't know about that "Korean Beyonce" title, she's a little too stiff at dancing - but she's picked a good idol.

Megan Shared exclusively with Us Weekly that she was feeling “better now,”after revealing that her pregnancy was “rough in the beginning!”
“I’ve had rough first trimesters,” she told Us. “But once you get into the second, it’s fine after that.”
On the differences between her first and second pregnancies, the busy star told Us on Friday
“I don’t have time to think about it. I have a 1-year-old running around. And then when you’re working like 16 hours a day, there’s no time for you at all.” She continued, “When I was home, I wasn’t sleeping — I was trying to make out time for the baby and spend time with him. So it was rough.“
I hate Lily for suggesting Taylor Swift for the show because they're friends.

Fox's hit freshman drama has laid out a blueprint for how to make a new TV series soar
Now that we're halfway through the traditional TV season, it's clear that viewers and critics are still losing their heads over Fox's Sleepy Hollow — and the show's success is refreshingly well-deserved. In an increasingly fragmented pop culture landscape, it's proving more challenging than ever for networks to distinguish themselves with bona fide successes each year, which makes shows that dominate the cultural conversation a rarity.
Only three new series can truly be considered breakout hits, according to the data: ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., NBC's The Blacklist, and Fox's Sleepy Hollow. But while all three shows are hits, they've connected with audiences for completely different reasons.
The success of S.H.I.E.L.D. was all but guaranteed. Based on The Avengers — one of the highest-grossing films of all time — it launched with TV deity Joss Whedon at the helm and fan-favorite Clark Gregg front and center. But while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is almost too big to fail, its ratings have continued to erode almost every week since its gangbusters series premiere, and critics have mauled it on a near-weekly basis. For its part, The Blacklist had its own bump from its powerhouse lead-in, The Voice. It currently occupies the same place in the schedule that made freshman hits out of Revolution and Smash — two hotly tipped dramas that cratered in their second seasons when they were removed from the singing competition's orbit.
And then there's Sleepy Hollow, which has thrived without the help of a tie-in franchise, a famous cast member, or a monstrous lead-in.

Despite just a handful of acting roles to date, country singer and "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood was the first choice to play the coveted lead role of Maria in a new live version of "The Sound of Music" for television.
Since winning "Idol" in 2005, Underwood, 30, has taken the country music scene by storm with hits like "Before He Cheats," and "Jesus, Take the Wheel," winning six Grammys and more than 100 other music awards. But the singer will take on more than just singing as she plays the von Trapp's musical governess in the live NBC broadcast on Thursday.
"She is the right type, the right age, she has the right vocal quality, she is beautiful and she has massive experience doing live performing. Carrie is the perfect person to play that character," co-producer Craig Zadan told Reuters.
Underwood spoke with Reuters ahead of the December 5 broadcast about taking on a challenge like Maria.

Chris Hemsworth didn't have to fake anything during the filming of Thor: The Dark World, especially while shooting its memorable love scene.
His costar Natalie Portman revealed that when she couldn't make it back to the Marvel set for a pickup shoot, the Aussie hunk's real-life wife, Elsa Pataky, put on a wig and filled in for her as Dr. Jane Foster during their big kissing scene at the end of the credits.
"It was for reshoots and he was working in Hong Kong and I couldn't get there because I was working on my own film," Portman told the New York Daily News. "And so they put his wife in my wig and costume. That's why it was so passionate."
Pataky, 37, is no stunt double.
The Spanish beauty has been acting since 1997 and had a plum role in 2011's Fast Five. So standing in for Portman was a piece of cake for the actress, which explains why the Thunder God's final smooch with Foster had so many sparks—because the chemistry was real.
And moviegoers had not a clue thanks to the magic of moviemaking.
"It was such a perfect solution, wasn't it?" added Portman.
Pataky and Hemsworth began dating in early 2010 not long after Elsa ended a three-year relationship with Oscar winner Adrien Brody. The two tied the knot in December 2010 and later welcomed their first child, daughter India Rose, now 18 months. Just last week, Hemsworth's rep confirmed to E! News that the couple is expecting their second child.

Will Smith's better half is indeed just that.
Sporting a black bikini top and zebra-printed thong bottoms, Jada Pinkett Smith showed off her fabulous figure as she spent the Thanksgiving weekend in Hawaii and easily proved that age is nothing but a number.
While her husband wasn't able to make the trip, the 42-year-old actress nevertheless enjoyed the sand and surf with her two kids, 15-year-old Jaden and 13-year-old Willow.
As Jada strolled along the beach, Willow was spotted surfing the waves while her brother made his way out on a paddleboard.
Of course, this isn't the first time we've seen Pinkett Smith flaunt her enviable curves.
Last year, she tweeted a sexy photo of herself wearing a two-piece while emerging from the water, writing, "To my Forty and over crew! Don't believe the hype... we DO get better with age!"
No argument here, Jada.

Twilight star Rob Pattinson has found himself tied to another drug scandal as a new photo shows him happily posing near what appears to be a bag of mysterious white powder.
The photo, posted on November 17 to the Facebook page of Hollywood composer — and Katy Perry BFF – Mario Fanizzi shows Fanizzi with a bleary-eyed Pattinson at an L.A. bash. In the background, unbeknownst to both, another individual is caught red-handed, passing a friend a small plastic baggie filled with unidentified white powder.
“What does that person have in their hand behind [Rob's] shoulder???” one commenter asked on a site that published the pic. Another accused, “Sorry but Rob looks … stoned in this pic!” Still others commented on how his eyes seemed “glazed over” and recalled reports just weeks ago that accused Pattinson of snorting a “white powder” in the VIP area of the Viper Room.
The report, by Star magazine, accused Pattinson of going on a drug bender with gal pal Dylan Penn at the notorious rock club and in the Chateau Marmont hotel before heading back to his house with friends and an alleged drug dealer.
Earlier this year, in April, he was allegedly caught smoking a joint at the Coachella Music festival with then-girlfriend Kristen Stewart.
And in 2009, Stewart was photographed rolling an alleged joint while out to dinner with Pattinson in Italy.

The wife of Norwegian soccer star Lars-Kristian Eriksen is under international scrutiny for posting a selfie of herself shortly after giving birth to the couple’s baby daughter.
Caroline Berg Eriksen, who runs a top Norwegian fitness blog, kicked off a media firestorm last week after she posted a scantily-clad picture of herself to Instagram showing off her fit physique just three days after going into labour.
“I feel so empty,” she wrote, “and still not four days after birth.”
But some onlookers, despite Berg Eriksen’s washboard stomach, weren’t impressed, questioning the 26-year-old’s motives in setting what some say is an unhealthy precedent for new moms.
“People kept telling me that my body would never be the same,” Berg Eriksen told ABC News. “I wanted to show everyone that’s not entirely true.
“Right after birth – like three minutes after – I felt like myself again.”
That’s because she reportedly worked out 5-6 times per week until she was well into her second trimester.
“I think that all women should be proud of themselves regardless of how they look after labour,” Berg Eriksen said.
Despite the disclaimer, many are taking aim at the Norwegian fitness queen for setting an unrealistic precedent that the majority of pregnant women will never achieve.
And that brought her husband, Lars-Kristian Eriksen, to her defence.
In a posting to Facebook translated by Business Insider, he wrote: "Who is it that creates body pressure? The one who posts selfie in lingerie because she is proud of herself, or those discussing (on the Internet) how a woman's body should look like after birth?"
As usual, I say something in an interview and of course fans have a problem with it. St. Vincent, the performance moniker of singer/songwriter and guitarist Annie Clark, will release her fourth studio album on February 25 via Republic Records according to her new label's 2014 release schedule. The upcoming project, the followup to her 2011 album Strange Mercy, is currently listed as self-titled though that may change with an official release announcement from Clark and Republic. Check out a snippet of some new music in the youtube video announcing her European tour below. Lead track fron the new album will be Birth In Reverse.
Coming off her 2012 collaborative album with David Byrne, Love This Giant, Clark headed back to Texas to write and record her latest songs. “I approach my work as I would a day job,” she tells Smithsonian Magazine. “If you’re a writer, you have to write. If you’re a musician, you have to make music. I wrote a lot of this new record in a shed behind my friend’s house in South Austin. I would go out there every morning like I was going to work. I wanted to go someplace to write that wasn’t New York. It was February and I wanted to be somewhere warm. When I wrote Strange Mercy [released in 2011], I did something similar in Seattle.”

Is Jessica Hart's future with Victoria's Secret in jeopardy after the blond
beauty seemingly dissed the country crooner following this year's fashion show?!
So claims a new report in the New York Post's Page Six, which alleges that
Victoria's Secret executives are "furious" with the Australian model and will
not be inviting the 27-year-old stunner to walk in next year's show or model in
its upcoming catalogues.
However, the lingerie brand insists the tabloid report is entirely false and has
issued a statement in Hart's defense.
"There is no truth to the rumors that Jessica Hart has been fired or that she will no longer work with the brand," Ed Razek, President and Chief Marketing Officer said in a statement. "As you will see, she was a great part of our show and we look forward to continuing to work with her. As previously reported, we at Victoria's Secret and all those involved, including Jessica Hart, were thrilled to have Taylor be a part of the show. We look forward to sharing her performances next week during the television special."
So how did Hart originally land herself in a bit of hot water?
During the show's afterparty, Hart was approached by Women's Wear Daily and
shared her thoughts on Swift's performance:
"I think, you know what, god bless her [Taylor Swift's] heart. I think she's
great," she said. "But, I don't know, to me, she didn't fit. I don't know if I
should say that."

What do Robert Johnson's purported deal with the devil and Miley Cyrus in a fever dream have in common? In the inimitably fertile mind of Nick Cave, they're both prime examples of the futility of existence, despite the best efforts of our brightest scientists.
"Higgs Boson Blues" makes the recent, roundly celebrated discovery of the subatomic particle the unlikely linchpin of the showcase track from the punk crooner's latest album, Push the Sky Away. The song appears in an intimate performance on Live From KCRW, a live album released on CD and vinyl for Record Store Day's "Back to Black Friday" and available today for digital download. The video for "Higgs Boson Blues" premieres here.
His Miley inspired lyrics:
"Hannah Montana does the African Savannah," the veteran explorer of the darkside rumbles near the finish of his band's eight-minute postmodern (hell, post-hope) "Blues."
"Miley Cyrus floats in a swimming poool in Toluca Lake / And you're the best girl I've ever had / Can't remember anything at all." Not that it would matter, apparently.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds recently announced a North American tour for mid-2014, beginning in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 16th and ending July 31st in Toronto.

1. This former A list celebrity/singer and C+ list mostly television actress was fired from a show despite trying her best to stay on the show. She actually helped put a nail into the coffin of her marriage by having sex with a producer because she thought staying on the show was more important than her marriage.
2. Not much has been heard from this A list singer in the past couple of years. He has tried to focus all the attention on his music and pretending to be a happily married man. Gone is the bad boy image and philanderer that was so prevalent before. Not to worry though. He has not gone on the straight and narrow. He has just been getting much much better at keeping everything under wraps. He has spent months perfecting what he thinks is a foolproof plan but the problem he is facing is his lust. See, at the beginning he did keep everything quiet. Sure, I was hearing whispers that he had one mistress stashed in an apartment that he would see just twice a month. Nothing ever confirmed though. She was on the books as an employee and her apartment rent was her housing allowance. He also had several people on tour with him who actually did do the jobs they were asked to do because the singer's wife wanted to see the resumes of all the female employees. No problem for our singer though because he hired professionals but also those who would keep him happy. He got greedy though and started really drinking and coking it up again and that is where the cracks developed. Late night visits from his regular dealer who saw some women with our singer. The room service guys bringing up booze and ice to a naked singer who didn't bother covering himself while a woman was sprawled naked on a sofa. So far the wife seems unaware of what is going on but it is just a matter of time.
3. This coke fiend and former almost A list mostly movie actor who has been in this space before documenting his career nosedive was passed out at his gym in a corner. Apparently he had not quite recovered from the night before and some treadmill work caused him to pass out. Paramedics were called and after a bit the actor was well enough to go home.
4. This former A+ list mostly movie actor is trying to get back to A again. On the set of his current movie he held up production for an hour because he said he needed to meditate. What he was really doing was smoking a joint while his college age girlfriend took care of him.
5. This former B list mostly television actress who was on a very hit cable show before getting fired has sold off all her possessions. Well, they are on consignment. So far her asking prices have been too high. She has moved into a one bedroom apartment with three roommates and just can't get off the drugs. Her roommate/boyfriend keeps her supplied with her Oxy and Adderall and he thinks he is the man because he has sex with someone who was on television. The good news is she is off the meth.
6. This probable Academy Award nominee for this year for his excellent work in a movie is married. He has a great name. He has also always been able to explore with other men because of his relative anonymity. That is all changing now and our actor has started taking chances to be with the man he has been seeing for much of the past two years and is openly gay. It would be quite the bang bang to win an Oscar and come out as gay at the same time.

We’ve known Joe Jonas, in passing, for a while–so when we ran into him on Spring Street a couple of months ago and asked, “Hey man, when are we gonna get you in the magazine?” it was pretty casual but we weren’t joking. The run-in on the street led to a great dinner with the brothers three, which led to us convincing Joe to take a day off and hang out with us.
We’re sincerely excited to have our good buddy in this new issue of NYLON Guys. However it is that you may know of Joe, or if you don’t know him well, there’s no better time to become acquainted with this dude. He’s got an incredible sense of humor, hours of amazing stories, an impeccable sense of style, and with all of the change happening since we ran into him on the street a few months ago, we’re more stoked for him than ever.

His style as a kid:
“I had a bowl cut for years, and glasses. When Harry Potter became famous, I looked just like him.”
“I don’t mind when people come up to me when I’m eating food. I’m not the kind of person that’s like, ‘Excuse me let me finish my lasagna.’”
Making new music:
“I’ve been reaching out to a lot of musicians and producers that I would like to work with. I don’t really know way the music is going to sound like, but I can tell you what I like–hip-hop, indie, dance music, pop.” -He cites Pharrell and Phantogram as his favorite acts.

Catching Up With George Clooney
The stellar actor opens up about his upcoming film The Monuments Men, Hitler's art collection and his cinematic crush.
In The Monuments Men, which is due in theaters in early spring, George Clooney plays the leader of a special platoon of museum directors, curators, and art historians who join forces to rescue the art that Adolf Hitler stole during World War II. Based on actual events, the movie is a men-on-a-mission thriller that asks a larger question: Do cultural artifacts define the spirit of a country? “Art takes different forms,” said Clooney, who coproduced, cowrote, and directed the movie. “But it represents something that is basic in all of us—our history.”

First look in Red and Green (not Black and White)
On Dec. 20, CBS will rebroadcast "The Christmas Episode" of "I Love Lucy," and that's big news. But here's the kicker: The episode has been colorized.
Surreal? Yes. Legend has it that when "The Christmas Episode" first aired in December of 1956, star Lucille Ball had mixed feelings about it. (See "The Lucy Book: A Complete Guide to Her Five Decades on Television" by Geoffrey Mark Fidelman for more details.) For whatever reason, the holiday episode was taken out of syndication, much to the chagrin of the iconic series' massive fan base. And now, it's back.
In the sneak-peek clip below, Ricky (Desi Arnaz) and Ethel (Vivian Vance) are untangling Christmas lights and singing "Jingle Bells" when Lucy decides to join in... in endearingly off-key fashion. The dynamics are evergreen, but the colors lend new life to the classic.
How red is Lucy's coif, you ask? See for yourself right here:
How would Bret Michaels fare in a post-apocalyptic world? We’re about to find out.
EW has learned exclusively that the singer is set to appear on NBC’s drama Revolution, where he will play a post-apocalyptic version of himself.
But which character will come face-to-face with the Poison frontman? You’ll have to wait to see, but we’re told Micheals will be performing an acoustic version (…because, you know, there’s no power) of his band’s hit ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” in the episode, set to air in 2014.
“Bret is truly a great guy. I’m a huge fan of his music and I’m thrilled he’s appearing on Revolution,” creator Eric Kripke said in a statement.
Just last week, Revolution wrapped up its fall season with an action-packed episode that saw a major return and a heartbreaking departure. It returns in January for a new batch of episodes.
This past September Universal released Curse of Chucky, the sixth film in the glorious Child’s Play franchise.
Here’s another project to throw in the “I wish this would have been made” file we all keep in our heads. Back in 1971, legendary animators Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata began production on an animated adaptation of Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking books. After meeting with the animators, Lindgren ultimately decided not to give them permission to produce the film. But now we can all look at some of the watercolor concept art that Miyazaki created, featuring the strongest girl in the world, and wonder what could have been.

The irony! There’s just so much of it! On so many levels!
I suggest we all take a moment and think about the person who would purchase such a thing from Walmart. What they do with their day? What led them to make the choice to shop at Walmart, the very symbol of capitalism gone wrong, and also to buy this particular Banksy print? We may never know.
In addition to this, some of the prints labeled as Banksy prints on the site are actually the work of other artists. Graffiti artist Eddie Colla’s print, with the very ironic words “If you want to achieve greatness stop asking for permission,” is on the site and labeled as a Banksy piece, as is Thierry Guetta’s 2008 “Life is Beautiful” piece. Colla intends to pursue legal action.
Apparently, a third-party vendor sold the prints to Walmart, which in turn thought nothing of selling ripped off versions of the most famous anti-consumer street artist in the world. LAist has this statement from a Walmart rep:
These items are sold through our Marketplace third-party sellers Wayfair and PlumStruck. We’ve taken action to disable the one item in question by Callo, and it will be unpublished later tonight around midnight PT.
We will also instruct Wayfair and Plumstruck to review their artwork to ensure the descriptions are accurate. It would be easy to call this the year of Jennifer Lawrence if last year hadn’t already earned that distinction. Perhaps it’s just easier to say we’re in the age of Jennifer Lawrence — a multi-year period in which the young actress holds the entertainment journalism industrial complex in the palm of her hand. Loving Jennifer Lawrence is a four-quadrant thing right now, but what's striking is how much of this month's smash hit The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is devoted to warning viewers about trusting anything the media serves up as “genuine.” When Lionsgate won the bidding war for rights to “the next Twilight” back in 2009, they had no idea how much the plot of Catching Fire would be a case of art reflecting life.
Lawrence is currently experiencing an America's Sweetheart status that seems to predate these cynical, media-savvy times. (Though Julia Roberts, a former holder of the title who is knowledgeable of what expectations it holds, took pains last week to distance Lawrence from the “America’s Sweetheart” curse, saying simply that the young actress was “too cool” for it.) With every stop on the Catching Fire press tour, she has wormed her way even deeper into the nation’s collective heart. Did you see her fumbling with and subsequently spilling breath mints in Madrid, resulting in a double-take that would make Buster Keaton envious? Or zetzing Jon Stewart because he hadn't done any research for their interview? Surely you heard her discuss soiling herself with David Letterman? There’s a straightforwardness about her that seems lacking in almost every other star of her generation, or those adjacent. Can she really be this good? Are we witnessing genuine J.Law or is it just an act? And if so, does it even matter?

I can sense the backlash coming…
Alexander Bohun, a 24-year-old gay man from Ukraine, was lured into a homophobic attack by a group of Russian nationalists calling themselves Occupy Pedophilia.
The Russian neo-Nazi who recently fled the country to avoid prosecution under "extremism" charges is back at his old tricks, allegedly luring gay men into an apartment under the guise of an online suitor, then beating, harassing, and intimidating his unwitting victims, while filming the supposed "confessions" of pedophilia and homosexuality to publish online.
But one gay man from Ukraine who says he was a recent victim of Maxim Martsinkevich, a former skinhead also known as "Cleaver," has opened a criminal investigation into the harassment his attackers captured on video.
Alexander Bohun, a gay former contestant on the Ukranian version of The X Factor, responded to a personal ad he found on Russian social networking site VKontakte (VK.com), often labeled Russia's version of Facebook. But when the 24-year-old went to the address at which he believed he'd meet his date, he was met by Martsinkevich and his cohort of "ultranationalist" thugs who make up the antigay Russian group Occupy Pedophilia, according to LGBTQ Nation. The group has made a name for itself by luring gay men under false pretenses, then recording their assault, humiliation, and coerced confessions to share on social media sites. The videos often go viral and are used to shame and humiliate gay men and teenagers who the nationalists claim were seeking sex from minors.

In the past, Piers Morgan always bashed Madonna when he needed some publicity.
Well, it seems he’s at it again.
Here’s what he told Ok! Magazine…
Madonna is pretty awful. She never forgave me for throwing a bread roll at her at Marco Pierre White’s birthday.
She was just being really obnoxious, not just to me, but generally. There was only 40 of us at this dinner party and she got annoyed because Bernard Manning started being offensive and that wound her up. She was with Guy Ritchie at the time and he’d been laughing his head off… I just picked up a bread roll and chucked it at her!
I hate the phoney accent, the muscled arms, the stripping off in her mid-fifties… Everything about her is attention-seeking – I think her 15 minutes of superstardom has probably run its course

I mean what is he talking about? It's not like she started it. In fact she never said a word about him, while he talk shit about her all the time.
By now you’ve either seen the previews for and/or watched the first episode of MTV’s new docuseries, Generation Cryo, about 17-year-old Breeanna Speicher's quest to find the sperm donor her lesbian moms used to get pregnant. Each episode follows Bree as she meets her half-siblings for the first time and gets one step closer to meeting the guy who made them. Even though Bree says they still haven’t met the guy (though they have contacted him), here’s an update on where things stand with Bree now, like what’s new with her girlfriend (!!!), what it’s like having a show on MTV and what she thinks of comparisons to her show with Teen Mom and Catfish.

Our friends at FX and Floyd County have been kind enough to give us the first look at the new Archer Season 5 poster and not only is it glorious, but it begs ALL THE QUESTIONS. Archer Vice? South Beach? Sacks of cash? Flipped motorboats? Loafers, no socks? Country Carol/Cheryl?
I swear I have something for this. But you’re going to have to wait until we get a bit closer to the Archer Season 5 premiere Monday, January 13th on FX. For now check out the full poster in all its glory and let the teasing begin. Radical departure is coming.

Fans of The Blacklist can cross a season two off their Christmas wish list. NBC has renewed the James Spader-led drama for a second season, making it one of the first (and few) freshman series to be bestowed with such a gift.
"The success of The Blacklist demonstrates that inspired storytelling is alive and well in broadcast television, and I'm impressed on a daily basis by this creative team's imagination and the extent to which they will go to capture this grand vision on film," NBC Chairman Rob Greenblatt said in a statement. "With gratitude to both our partners at Sony Pictures Television and our NBC development executives who took a great script and shepherded it into a great series, I hope that Red Reddington never runs out of names to bring down on his list!"
The Blacklist, which got an early 22-episode pickup, has been a huge hit for the peacock network. It is the No. 1 drama for total viewers in the coveted 18-49 demo, and averages a 4.9 rating.
"We are very proud of the creative achievements of The Blacklist, starting with creator Jon Bokenkamp and his incredible producing partners John Eisendrath, John Davis, John Fox and Michael Watkins," Jennifer Salke, NBC President added. "Our hats are off to them and to everyone in our dream cast—starting with the incomparable James Spader and Megan Boone—and our maverick pilot director, Joe Carnahan, and all of the gifted writers, producers, and directors who bring this cinematic show to life each week."
The Blacklist just wrapped up the first half of its season with an explosive midseason finale on Monday night. Of course, we saw promise in the show early on, picking it as one of our favorite new shows of the fall.
The Blacklist returns on Monday, Jan. 13.

In a new interview, Kanye West reveals that he doesn't like Biggie's "Juicy" or "Big Poppa" beat.
As Yeezus continues to travel the country on tour, Monday he dropped by Greg Street’s show on V103 Atlanta to chat about a few topics. The two chopped it up for about 35-minutes in a 2-part interview and as usual, Kanye had some choice words.
In part one of their conversation, the two talked about various topics including Kanye breaking down barriers as an artist, Michael Jackson paving the way for artist like him, his “creative genius”, and his luxury sneaker line with Louis Vuitton.
Later in part two of their sit-down, that’s where things got a little more interesting. Asides from discussing the signing of G.O.O.D. Music’s CyHi The Prynce, and being a trendsetter, Kanye spoke about sampling. That's where Kanye revealed that he doesn’t like Biggie’s “Juicy” and/or “Big Papa” beat. 'Ye stated:
“Man that “Juicy beat, I don’t like that beat man, and I don’t like the beat for ["Big Poppa"]. I don’t like the Dr. Dre worm noise on the chorus. and I’m sure Biggie didn’t like it either. But Biggie was so cold, that he could make you like anything." -Kanye

Turns out the rapper has figured out a way to accomplish just that, though. He’s commissioned Andy Warhol’s cousin Monica Warhol, an artist who lives and works in Tucson, Ariz., to paint Kardashian.
“She’s an icon. She’s famous for nothing. Andy would have loved her,” Monica told me. “Kim is beautiful. She’s so manufactured. She looks like a human Barbie.”
Just as Andy did, Monica makes silk-screen works from photographs. “I never studied Andy. I never owned a book about him until about a year ago,” she said. The mimicking of his style is not conscious. She loves screen-printing, she said, because it’s “extremely physical.” Unlike Andy, who delegated labor to a bunch of hired hands, Monica does all the work herself.
Monica, a mother of six, never met the Prince of Pop, who died in 1987 when she was 10 and growing up in Pittsburgh. “My grandfather and Andy’s father were brothers. My Aunt Betty took me to the cemetery every week, where we’d pray over Andy’s grave, because my aunt said he was pretty flaky and was probably in purgatory.”
Like Andy, she’s found her niche in pop culture. Two portraits of the rapper Flo Rida that Monica made can be seen in the video for his song “How I Feel.” She’s painting a likeness of Lenny Kravitz, after meeting him in the Church Boutique in Los Angeles.
But an artist’s life is hard. “It would be easier to get cancer, because there might be a cure,” Monica said. “When you are an artist, that’s it. You can’t change it.”

Beyonce and her husband Jay Z are going vegan for 22 days, starting today (December 3)!
“On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!! This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a ‘plant-based breakfast’ everyday,” the 43-year-old rapper wrote on his website.
He added, "There’s something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas day…It just feels right!"
The couple started off today eating lunch at vegan restaurant Real Food Daily in West Hollywood.
Sherri Saum's definition of family is about to get a rewrite. The Fosters actress is pregnant and expecting twins, her rep announced in a statement on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
"The actress and her husband Kamar de los Reyes are so thrilled to welcome the little ones into the world in early summer," the statement said.
No word yet on how (or if) this will affect Saum's ABC Family show. The series stars the Rescue Me alum as Lena Foster, a school principal who agrees to foster a girl named Callie without talking it over with her longtime partner (played by Meet the Parents actress Teri Polo).
Saum, 39, has no other children. Married since 2007, she and de los Reyes split their time between New York City and L.A. She also volunteers with Kusewera, an organization that teaches children in Malawi, Africa.

Miley Cyrus was the most-searched term on Yahoo in 2013, the first time a human has taken the top spot since Michael Jackson in 2009.
Kim Kardashian and Kate Upton took the second and third spots among Yahoo’s overall top searches, the company said Tuesday, while Barack Obama was Yahoo’s most-searched political figure, followed by Nelson Mandela. Other political figures to make the top 10 include Hillary Clinton, whose potential as a presidential candidate has stirred interest in recent months, and tea party lightning rod Ted Cruz, a conservative leader during the government shutdown earlier this year.
Yahoo’s top “obsession” in 2013, which combines the volume of searches with how fast the term rose in popularity, was the backwoods TV blockbuster Duck Dynasty. The top “Why” question of the year was “Why only 6 jurors in Zimmerman trial,” though at least one old classic held its own, coming in at No. 4: “Why is the sky blue?”
HBO’s decision to bring True Blood to a close after its upcoming seventh season was the correct one — so believes leading man Stephen Moyer.
“I think they made the right call to say, ‘Let’s finish it on a massive run of 10 episodes,’” he tells TVLine, adding that the cabler considered extending the series through an eighth season. “It was either going to be one season or two seasons… and I would’ve definitely [stayed] on. But it’s very difficult with a show like ours to keep finding a Big Bad and creating all the drama around it.”

According to NBC News, a Los Angeles-based Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf shop displayed tip jars on the counter asking customers to use their cash to vote for their favorite film starring Paul Walker, the 40-year-old star who was killed in a fiery car accident on Saturday, with Fast & Furious and Varsity Blues being the two options.
This idea didn't sit well with the American Pie actor, who posted a photo of the display and tweeted, "Umm, am I crazy, or does this seem exploitive and in poor taste? @CoffeeBeanLA."
His post surprised some fans, with one follower responding, "Wait! @JasonBiggs thinks something is in poor taste? Has hell frozen over?" The celeb wrote back, "First time for everything I suppose." But more importantly, it also caught the attention of someone in charge of the popular coffee chain.
"@JasonBiggs This is completely inconsistent w/our brand values & the jars have since been removed.Thank you 4 bringing this 2 our attention," the official Coffee Bean L.A. Twitter account wrote back.
A spokesperson for that specific store also assured NBC News that the jars have been taken off the counter, adding that they cannot release the location in question "as the matter is still under investigation."
"This is completely inconsistent with our brand values and the jars have since been removed. Our thoughts and condolences remain with the many friends and family of Paul Walker during this difficult time. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® would like to thank Jason Biggs for bringing this matter to our attention," the company said in a statement to NBC4.

There was a lot to celebrate this year for women in the media. But some things aren't changing fast enough...
