Naughty Boy not on Britney Jean because he didn't get to work, bitch + SaveTheMusic Ambassador

Super songwriter/producer Naughty Boy (Emeli Sande‘s Our Version Of Events) came this close to having a hand in Britney Spears‘ upcoming LP, Britney Jean, but a funny thing happened, which prevented him from taking part: His own single “La La La” became a global smash, topping the charts in various parts of Europe — including Naughty Boy’s home of the UK — and placing in the Top 10 in others.

“I was working on some stuff with William Orbit, who was working on the Britney stuff,” Naughty Boy, whose real name is Shahid Khan, explained during a stop by Idolator’s studio this week. “I haven’t done anything for [Britney Jean]. It was more a thing where I wasn’t able to come to L.A. at the time…because I was promoting ‘La La La’ around the world.”

Almost Human: Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Abrams & Wyman Interview + New Poster

In the opening moments of Fox’s Almost Human, we learn that crime in Los Angeles has risen 400 percent, criminal organizations run the city with impunity, and the police are so outnumbered that every human officer is paired with a combat-ready android.

If you’re envisioning something along the lines of RoboCop, Blade Runner and Minority Report, you’re on the right, dystopian track.

HOW FAR IN THE FUTURE ARE WE TALKING? | The series is set about 30 years from now, a time that Abrams, during a conference call with reporters, insists isn’t all doom and gloom. “It’s not raining all the time. The atmosphere isn’t completely ruined,” he notes. “There’s a sense of going forward” and that humanity is “resilient, and we’re going to succeed.”

HOW HUMAN IS DORIAN? | Unlike the newer model “synthetics” who accompany all of the other officers about their work, Dorian is indistinguishable from you or I. His emotional range, Ealy says during a visit to the set, “can go to very, very emotional to pretty stoic.” Yet let’s not forget: He’s hella strong and impervious to pain. “There are times, especially in action sequences,” Ealy notes, “where he’s just unstoppable.” Abrams adds that Ealy “is playing a character who is by design, literally, as brave and as knowledgeable and strategic as you would want your partner to be… But he’s also as altruistic and as considerate and empathetic as you would want.”

Simon Cowell Keeps One Direction From Turning Into ‘Nightmares’

The One Direction guys are at the very peak of their careers, but is band creator Simon Cowell afraid their overwhelming success will go to their heads? ‘They can turn into nightmares,’ he tells

Simon Cowell couldn’t be happier about One Direction’s success over the years. And even though the X Factor judge has seen what this kind of fame can do to young artists, he says he’s not worried about his friends Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik – because he knows “they are good.” Read on for all the details!

One Direction is so excited to release their third studio album, Midnight Memories, but it sounds like their former mentor doesn’t want the boys to get ahead of themselves just yet!

“I have a good relationship with them, ” Simon, 54, tells“But a third album can be tricky because they’ve had so much success and are so young and they can turn into nightmares. I see that in the media all the time when kids get out of control, but they are good.”

It’s good to know that 1D has Simon’s vote of confidence! So is he still keeping them in line?

“From the beginning, I wasn’t going to be some awful Svengali telling them what to do,” Simon adds. “We are all smart and they can work it out themselves and they have worked it out themselves and they have fun. I’ve always said to them, ‘If it’s not fun, then stop doing it.’”

Jack Whitehall’s Bad Education relocates to the US for remake set in Chicago

ABC has picked up the show, to be called An American Education, and Whitehall will reprise his role as hapless teacher Alfie Wickers.

The show will see Wickers take up a teaching job in a school in Chicago.

Peter Huyuk and Alex Gregory are attached to pen the script with the comedian and executive producer Ben Cavey, Digital Spy reports.

Filming on the show is set to commence in January in Los Angeles.

Whitehall recently tweeted about the news, saying: ‘Gonna be all over Bad Ed US, there are some great people involved.

‘Even if they pick it up (chances of this are v tiny) would not mean the end of Bad Ed uk!’

There is no word on whether the series will air in the UK.

Bad Education recently finished its second run on BBC Three last month and will return for a Christmas special.

Lululemon founder issues an apology but only to his staff

Lululemon founder and yoga pant billionaire Chip Wilson has issued an apology for comments he made during a recent TV interview — but only to his staff.
During the short video posted on YouTube, Wilson told his staff he was sorry they had to face the backlash for his comments.
"I'm sad. I'm really sad. I'm sad for the repercussions of my actions. I'm sad for the people of Lululemon who I care so much about that have really had to face the brunt of my action.
"I take responsibility for all that has occurred and the impact it has had on you. I'm sorry to have put you through all this."
But he did not retract his statement that "some women's bodies just don't work" for his pants.
Wilson made the comment during an interview on Bloomberg television when host Trish Regan asked about complaints about pilling of the fabric. Wilson replied that the problem was not with the pants.
“Even our small sizes would fit an extra large, it’s really about the rubbing through the thighs, how much pressure is there…over a period of time, and how much they use it," he said.
His comments sparked outrage from women who said he was "fat shaming" them. But others have come to his defence saying clothing can not be expected to fit everyone.

Rob Thomas Is Developing a Zombie Med Student Show

Deadline reports that after finishing up the Veronica Mars movie, Rob Thomas is moving on to work with the film’s co-writer Diana Ruggiero to develop iZombie for the CW. Based on a Vertigo comic book of the same name, it will tell the story of a med student who becomes a zombie and takes a job in the coroner’s office to access the brains; when she eats the brains, she learns the dead person’s memories, allowing her to solve their homicide cases. It’s kind of like Tru Calling, but instead of Zach Galifianakis, there’s brain-eating.

The crime-solving angle made me think of "Animal Instincts," but I'm assuming the comic does a much better job with the storyline if it's being made into a TV show.

Where are the Avengers?

The crowd that exited Wednesday's 8.30pm 3D screening of Thor: The Dark World did so in excitement. The movie had surpassed everyone's expectations. Well, everyone bar the Batman T-shirt wearing chap, presumably a DC fan and angrily thinking 'how dare a superhero movie have sense of humour - WE'RE MEANT TO BE TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY NOW, DAMMIT.'

But everyone - even the devoted fans - seemed to be asking the same thing:

Where were The Avengers?

They didn't ask in an angry way. The sense of enjoyment far overrode the dissension. It was more in a ‘I’ve noticed a fundamental flaw in the movie all by myself, so I’m going to keep banging on about it’ way.

In truth, The Avengers' non-existence in standalone films like Thor: The Dark World is a huge flaw. A gaping flaw. A flaw so big and entwined in the shared Marvel Universe that…it strangely doesn’t matter.

Imagine a building is to be demolished. Explosives are wired around the foundations, charges are set, and the big red 'detonate' button is pressed. But the structure doesn't collapse in on itself, because all the exploded debris and misshapen girders have fallen in a way that creates a stable construction, holding the rest of the building up. That's what the question 'Where are The Avengers?' is. A very delicate, but simultaneously necessary, flaw.

Where are The Avengers? They're doing something else. They're busy. They're on the run after a benevolent tech organisation turned out to be bent on world domination.

It doesn't matter where they are. It's a redundant question. What matters is that these standalone movies are given a chance to work by themselves.

And that they promote the next big team-up event.

Money, money, money.

New forensic reports suggest that Jiah Khan was murdered

Forensic report says fragments of human flesh found under actor's fingernails, which experts say is usually a sign of struggle.

The findings of a forensic report that Mumbai police have strangely ignored so far has raised a strong suspicion that actress Jiah Khan's death could be a case of murder. The Kalina Forensic Laboratory report of August 16, which Jiah's family has now asked the Juhu police team reinvestigating the case to take into account, says that fragments of human flesh were found under Jiah's fingernails and that her underwear had bloods stains, clear signs of struggle before her death.

Jiah was found dead in her Juhu apartment on June 3 this year. According to the police, she hung herself from the ceiling fan in her room. Jiah's mother Rabia Khan, who has all along maintained that her daughter did not commit suicide, has now demanded that her body be exhumed and re-examined. In a letter written to Additional Commissioner of Police (west) Vishwas Nangre Patil, she has accused the police of turning a blind eye to the FSL report and "stage managing" the case. The Juhu police had arrested Jiah's boyfriend Sooraj for abetment a week after her death. He was released on July 2 after the Bombay High Court granted him bail.

Britney Jean Megapost!

Details about the second version of Perfume which is going to be on the Deluxe Edition of Britney Jean

The Alternate version of “Perfume” on the Deluxe “Britney Jean” is haunting, dark, cold, hollow; a distant cry from Will.I.Am’s version, a music insider shares with
The eerie drum loop mixed with guitars, strings, synth pads and the piano (that beautiful piano!) suits the lyrics far better than the heavy bass does in the radio mix. The sound is deeper and more straightforward rather than the embellishments on the album version.
The alternate “Perfume” features a slowed-down chilling background mixed with echoey vocals (lyrics and duration remain the same) – a much stronger-sounding traditional ballad versus Will’s radio-friendly power slow-jam.

Jessica Simpson Smiles, Shows Off Slim Post-Baby Body Again in Weight Watchers Shoot

Hello Jessica! Jessica Simpson is showing off her post-baby body once again, and the result is simply stunning. The mother of two showed off her svelte body in a new picture while working with Weight Watchers on Friday, Nov. 8.

"Couldn't stop smiling on set for my new @weightwatchers campaign today! #happy," the 33-year-old wrote. Alongside the caption, a beaming Simpson is seen wearing dark jeans, boots and a tight-fitting white button down top while standing in a field. The singer and designer smiled with her mouth wide open, and with her beautiful blonde locks down in waves.

It isn't a surprise that Eric Johnson's fiancee is so thrilled with her new slimmed down figure. After all, the singer previously dropped 70 pounds after giving birth to Maxwell, 19 months, and has been dropping the weight once again since giving birth to son Ace in June.

"I'm a lot more confident this time around," the former Fashion Star mentor told Tumblr's MomFeeds blog in an interview in late October. "With Maxwell I didn't think about the weight I was gaining, and the first time I stepped on a scale and looked at the number...I mean, that wasn't a number I had ever even considered...and I was faced with a pretty serious truth," she revealed.

Back in August, Simpson was honest about her weight gain in an extensive interview with Us Weekly. "I am just one of those pregnant women who gains a lot of weight," she told Us. "I have really big boobs. I have my curves. Even trying as hard as I did with Ace, I still gained -- definitely not as much as with Maxwell, but still a significant amount."

And because of that, Simpson knew what to do next. "With a toddler on the run and an infant to look after I knew I needed a plan that's simple and fits into my life, along with the support that's so important to my success," she told MomFeeds. "I know Weight Watchers works, so I got on the plan again."

Amanda Bynes will reportedly be home for Christmas.

Amanda Bynes will be home in her own bed by Christmas ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with her treatment tell TMZ ... Amanda's meds and psychological counseling have sufficiently stabilized her so her doctors will let her leave the Malibu rehab facility where she's been held since September.

As TMZ first reported ... Amanda was released from the UCLA psych ward and went to the rehab facility because the psych ward was freaking her out and preventing her from improving.

Doctors will release Amanda to her mom, who will then take her to the family house and provide supervision. The move will take place sometime next month.

We're told -- aside from the fact that the meds and therapy appear to be working -- doctors are concerned that Amanda is going stir crazy. She's not allowed to go outside because paparazzi are hanging out at the facility and the staff is worried if Amanda is around other patients and pictures are taken, it will compromise the others.

Calls to Amanda's parents' attorney, Tamar Arminak, were not returned.

New ‘You Can Touch My Hair’ documentary captures outdoor spectacle of natural hair touching

Black hair continues to be a hot topic in the public arena, with ever more creative ways being employed to explore the issue. Recently an African-American woman staged a series of photographs of white women wearing black hairstyles.

Mere weeks before, a black woman and hair care expert staged an exhibit called You Can Touch My Hair, during which people were invited to Union Square Park in New York City to — you guessed it — touch black women’s hair.

In case you missed the opportunity, a new documentary of the same name captures the exhibit creator’s attempt to demystify African-American hair, and reactions to the performance art-like piece. You Can Touch My Hair was produced as a short film in conjunction with the brand Pantene Pro-V.

“The exhibit was organized by Antonia Opiah, the founder of, a website dedicated to black hair,” reports New York’s Daily News.

Gillian Anderson Show 'Crisis' Halts Production

Production on NBC’s midseason hostage drama “Crisis” has gone on an unplanned hiatus to give writers time to tweak storylines and work on scripts, reports

The break isn’t expected to last long, according to Chicago Film Office Director Rich Moskal.
“All we heard on Friday was that they were temporarily suspending production until the 15th of November,” Moskal said, adding that producers didn’t give a reason for the break. “They were just letting us know they won’t be contacting us for filming out on the streets.”

The series, starring Gillian Anderson and Dermot Mulroney, is a political thriller set in Washington, D.C., but filmed in Chicago, largely at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios on the West Side and on location in the North Shore and the far western suburbs.

A source close to the series who didn’t want to be named said the unplanned hiatus is meant “to give our writers an extended window to plot out and craft the back half of our season. This is not entirely unusual on a complex drama series.”

Officials at NBC and 20th Century Fox Television, which is producing the show, had no official comment.

Deadline reported that insiders claim the break, which comes after filming the sixth episode, is for “course correction.”

“There has been concern recently that subsequent episodes were veering from the direction (and promise) of the pilot, which led to the decision to take a break and try to fix that,” the Deadline post reads.
Collapse )
Filming in Chicago started in late August and is scheduled to continue through late January, Moskal said.
Even though cameras have stopped rolling for the time being on “Crisis,” there’s still plenty of TV filming taking place in Chicago.
USA Network’s upcoming comedy “Sirens” is expected to wrap this week. NBC’s “Chicago Fire” is supposed to continue filming its sophomore season through April and the show’s new spin-off, “Chicago PD,” should finish filming sometime in February, Moskal said.

“It’s field trip day for the students of Ballard High School, a place that educates the children of Washington, D.C.’s elite, top-of-their-industry CEOs, international diplomats, political power players and even the president’s son. But when their bus is ambushed on a secluded rural road, the teenagers and their chaperones are taken, igniting a national crisis. Now with some of the country’s most powerful parents at the mercy of one vengeful mastermind, the question arises: How far would you go and what would you become to ensure your child’s safe return? With so many parents and dignitaries put into play with nowhere to turn and no one to trust, this unthinkable scenario grows from the select families at risk to an entire nation at stake.”

Victoria Beckham to open New York office

VICTORIA BECKHAM has a new home in New York - or her brand does, at least. The company is set to open an office in the city in January 2014 and, at 4,500sq ft, it will be big enough to house the US wholesale team as well as a seasonal showroom space.

"Following a period of expansion for the brand in the market over the past two years, the launch of pre collections across all categories signalled a need for a permanent office in the US to support the business," Victoria Beckham CEO Zach Duane told us exclusively today. "We are looking forward to opening our first office outside of the UK and will be announcing the details of our US team shortly."

The office will be situated at 511 West 25th Street, in Manhattan's Chelsea. Beckham's team's neighbours will include Target, which is housed in the same building, and the city's famous High Line.

Speculation is still rife about a possible London store opening - on Mount Street or Dover Street - but you'll read details of that here first, when it happens.

Lauren Mayberry: Five reasons to love Depeche Mode

After supporting Depeche Mode on their European tour, Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches says Glasgow is in for a treat

Depeche Mode. Two words with one hell of a musical legacy. After 33 years, 13 studio albums and over 100 million records sold worldwide, the Essex band have entirely proven that their success is no fluke. As someone currently playing in an electronic band, the importance of Depeche Mode to those with a love of synths, analogue and otherwise, is not lost on me. Chvrches supported the band on four European Delta Machine tour shows this summer and I could write a novella on how much they mean to me and millions of others. But today is not the day for an open letter (as on trend as that is) and we only have 800 words, so let’s do it bullet point style.

Reason to Love Depeche Mode #1: The Live Show

Depeche Mode live is a pretty breathtaking thing. The set list is EPIC so you are in no danger of feeling short-changed. New material is there in abundance but blends well with old classics (Personal Jesus, Walking In My Shoes, Enjoy The Silence, Policy Of Truth). The three long-standing band members – Andy Fletcher, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore – perform with exactly the same dedication and energy as they do in footage of yore, with Martin Gore given centre stage for a number of his lead vocal tracks. The ’Mode also know their way around a beautiful visual, having worked with filmmaker Anton Corbijn since the 1980s, and this live show sees the Delta Machine artwork incorporated into the set alongside abstract video sequences and impressive lighting techniques.

A quarter of a century since his band Pop Will Eat Itself first graced the UK singles chart, Clint Mansell has become the thinking-filmmaker’s composer of choice. From his end of the phone in Los Angeles, he reflects on a career change that happened almost by accident, one which now sees him scoring everything from biblical epics to crowdfunded films about his former record sleeve designers.

I was definitely behind the settee for the Doctor Who theme; that really did unnerve my generation. But that’s the power of music. It can really evoke something. And then there were the effects on the doctor’s face in that sequence. They were very new things for young minds. Another musical cliché of my generation is Bowie’s performance of “Starman” on Top of the Pops. Though it wasn’t film, it was very choreographed. From that night onwards I knew what I wanted to do. It spoke to me like nothing else had up to that point. But my dad was a film buff and he liked cowboy movies, and they always had great, rollicking themes.

I remember movies that would be independent now, such as Walkabout, which is John Barry’s score, and Parallax View, which is scored by Michael Small – both different, but powerful and evocative. I don’t recall thinking about it at that age, but it was undoubtedly becoming a part of me. A few years later we were into Twin Peaks, and in the interim there was Blade Runner – [these were] all things that were speaking to my generation. When I was in my band, we pilfered a lot of film soundtracks, for inspiration and homage, shall we say.

Tom Hiddleston talks about Loki's sinister sexuality

There’s a lot of bastards out there.

Villains, tyrants, and troublemakers have become so critical to big-budget films that they’re beginning to upstage the heroes — in some cases seizing the title roles, as in next year’s Sleeping Beauty remake Maleficent, and the upcoming Marvel films Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron, among others.

Thor: The Dark World, which opens today, could easily be subtitled Loki Strikes Back.

In his third round as the God of Mischief, Tom Hiddleston not only steals Thor sequel, but practically sets it on fire and collects all the insurance money. Hiddleston spoke with EW about the state of cinematic villainy — why we love bad guys, why these villains are bigger than ever, and whether he believes himself to be evil at heart…

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Simple question: why do we love characters we hate?

TOM HIDDLESTON: Well, that is the eternal question. There is this old phrase that “the devil plays all the best tunes.” There is a kind of freedom to being bad, an embracing of one’s most rebellious instincts. The idea that essentially order and chaos exist inside every human being and mostly – rightly — we behave ourselves. When you play a bad guy, you sort of cut loose from that sense of propriety.
