'I used to be at war with my body - now I'm posing naked': Former anorexic beats the disease to become curvy lingerie model
A woman who beat anorexia to become the face of a curvy lingerie brand has stripped off for a naked photo shoot.
Alice Jackson, 26, from the Brundall region of Norwich, has posed completely nude for a national magazine, showing just how far she's come since she was in the grip of the eating disorder.
Doing the shoot is something I never could have done when I was suffering from anorexia. I used to be at war with my body and not like who I was,' says Alice, who features in the December issue of Cosmopolitan.

'It shows just how far I have come in terms of recovery. I hope that anyone looking at my photo who may be struggling with an eating disorder or body image issue will feel inspired that you can recover from these problems and learn to love your body again.'
Ed Sheeran has written a track for The Hobbit sequel The Desolation of Smaug.
The song, I See Fire, is the singer's first solo release for two years and will appear in the film's end credits.
In a series of tweets Sheeran, 22, revealed he produced and played every instrument on the track expect cello.
He also thanked the film's director, Peter Jackson, and the production team for the chance to be a part of the film, which is scheduled for release on 13 December.
Sheeran announced that, even though he had gone to the effort of learning violin for the track, I See Fire will not appear on his new album.
Referring to the follow-up to 2011's +, he added: "That fun starts next year."
The singer is currently playing a string of sold out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York.
During the most recent date on 1 November, he was joined on stage by Taylor Swift to perform their duet Everything Has Changed.
The inaugural YouTube Music Awards kicked off Sunday night with a live music video of the song “Afterlife” by Arcade Fire directed by Spike Jonze and starring Greta Gerwig.
Gerwig danced with the same awkward Turrets style that was so endearing in "Francis Hah." She grooved through a fake kitchen and into some fake snowy woods. She danced right up to Arcade Fire, which was performing on a stage at Pier 36 in New York City where the show was being shot. A bunch of kids joined her. A little more than 155,000 viewers watched the stream. The future looked promising for the brand new awards show.
And then everything went downhill.

Those frightening dentures that Lady Gaga popped into her mouth at the YouTube Music Awards last night (and wears on the cover of her new single, "Dope") are actually a bracelet. A "dental cuff," to be specific, by 25-year-old jewelry designer Danielle Hills, who was first contacted by Gaga's design team in 2010.

The Killers will release their career-spanning best-of Direct Hits next week, and amidst all the radio gold in there, they’ve included two new songs. We’ve already heard one of those songs, the expansive M83 collab “Shot At The Night.” The second of those songs is now online. It’s a strummy midtempo jam called “Just Another Girl” that seems to find room for every era of the band’s career: The strummy dustbowl Springsteen influence, the blaring neon synths, the glammy strut. There’s also something that I can only describe as a robotic slide-guitar sound in there.
Now that Lady Gaga is getting out of business–unwisely–with Troy Carter, who will she turn to? If this story goes as history’s proven, Gaga will be back with Carter in three years when she realizes the mistake she made. But in the meantime, who are her go-to’s?
1. Scooter Braun– the guy behind Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen. He’s into charity and philosophical musings on Twitter. He also likes to travel, and is rarely in the same place as his clients. This may be fine for Gaga, who doesn't want close attention anyway.
2. Benny Medina– he knows divas. Between Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey, Benny has seen every crazy backstage demand known to man or beast. If she listened to him, Gaga would soar.
3. Col. Tom Parker– managed Elvis Presley. He’s dead. But Gaga needs someone this devoted to her.
4. Jermaine Dupri– currently managing Mariah Carey. Advised girlfriend Janet Jackson for a long time and did pretty well.
5. Coran Capshaw– managed Dave Matthews so well he launched a huge management firm in the process called Red Light. Dave has no hit singles and no one cares. He can sell out a stadium in two minutes.
6. Simon Cowell– come on, you know this would be so over the top. Even better: Simon Fuller. So much fun!
7. Guy Oseary– already managing Madonna, who’s Gaga’s predecessor. Just get Gaga into Kabbalah and we’re all set.
8. Irving Azoff– the only one whom she would have to listen to, or else. But he’s got the Eagles and Steely Dan and enough success. There isn’t enough Advil.
9. Johnny Wright– imagine a Gaga-Timberlake duet.
10. Larry Rudolph- already has Miley and Britney. Knows naked ambition. Doesn't mind daily breakdowns. Probably has stock in Kleenex.
OK -- this article brings the LOL's, especially #3!! -- I personally think Kris Jenner or Pebbles would be the best option. WHO DO YOU THINK ONTD???
The 35-year-old multi-hyphenate will appear in no less than ten films this year, in roles ranging from the titular wizard in Oz: The Great and Powerful to a meth kingpin named “Gator” in the gonzo action flick Homefront, out later this month. He stole the show as an exaggerated version of himself in the summer comedy This Is the End, and his riveting turn as a tattooed, fugazi crime lord in Spring Breakers is earning him a bit of Oscar buzz.
Franco also released a novel last month, Actor’s Anonymous, has curated numerous art installations, and was skewered in a highly rated Comedy Central Celebrity Roast.
Oh, and he also directed three films that were released this year, including the documentary Interior. Leather. Bar., the Faulkner adaptation As I Lay Dying, and the Sal Mineo biopic Sal, which was released on Nov. 1. The latter film is based on Michael Gregg Michaud’s biography, Sal Mineo: A Biography. It stars Val Lauren as Mineo, the actor who earned two Oscar nominations before age 20 for his roles in Rebel Without A Cause and Exodus, and who was one of the first major film stars to come out of the closet. Sal chronicles the last day in the life of the idol, who was stabbed to death at the age of 37.

Literally several thousand people clicked off when Lady Gaga performed at the You Tube Music Awards a few nights ago, leaving music executives frightened about Gaga’s ARTPOP album, due out a week from Tuesday. In 2011, Gaga caused a controversy when it was revealed that Amazon was selling digital downloads of “Born This Way,” Lady Gaga’s newest album, for just 99 cents. Born This Way, went on to sell an extremely healthy 1.11 million albums during its first full week at retailers. But artificially inflating the numbers in 2011 has only left her with a bigger problem in 2013.“This new CD will be compared with her past as far as sales,” says one music heavyweight. “It cannot possibly do as well without the 99 cents offer. Her first single was outsold by Katy Perry and now the disaster at the YouTube awards…people should be worried.”
Madonna’s former artistic director Christopher Ciccone — the Material Girl’s brother – told NAUGHTY BUT NICE ROB a few months ago that Gaga made a huge mistake not following his sister’s style.“You have to remember what really made Madonna really popular is that girls could dress like her. You can’t dress like Gaga, only on Halloween perhaps. It’s a really big part of being a performer — getting your fans to follow you. You have to evolve. At one point with Madonna, it was time for the tights to go,” Christopher said. “What I would do with Gaga is stream it all down and get rid of all the crap and make her a real person. It’s cool on some level, but when you start out massively way over the top, there is nowhere to go. You get stuck there and you disconnect from the audience. You become this freak on the stage.”
Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum have more in common than one might think. Before he became one of the most ubiquitous TV and movie stars, Pratt says he earned a living as an amateur stripper.
"I was always a very much naked person. I loved to always get naked," the Parks and Recreation star tells Buzzfeed in a revealing new interview. "I was very free, so I thought, 'I may as well get paid.'"
At age 18, he book several gigs—mostly bachelorette parties—and even danced at his friend's grandmother's birthday party. "It was a surprise. I don't know how it got around to them, but they paid me $40," he recalls. "I was never like Magic Mike, you know. I did go one time and audition on a stage for a club, but I don't think I got the job. I don't think I'm a very good dancer."

Naomi Campbell failed to recognise Harry Styles when they met.The supermodel stunned her friend Kate Moss when she mistook the One Direction heartthrob for the child of one of their other model friends backstage at the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012.Naomi admitted to heat magazine: ''Kate introduced me to him at the Olympics. And I said to her, 'Whose son is he? Is he one of our model friends' kids that I just missed out on?' I didn't know who he was.''Kate was like, 'Stop! No! You must know him.' ''
Despite her own global success, Naomi admits she gets star-struck, but tries to avoid it by keeping her distance from people she admires. She said: ''Of course I get star-struck, but I don't run up to the person, I just look from afar.''I saw Michael Douglas' dad Kirk in [restaurant] Cipriani in New York once. He said, 'Come here young lady!' I was like, 'Oh my God!' ''.And while Naomi had no idea who Harry was, she is a big fan of 'The X Factor' - where One Direction first found fame - and its creator Simon Cowell. She said: ''I'm a big fan of Simon Cowell. Everything he touches turns to gold and he gives people who have hopes a chance to really make their dream come true.''I can only watch 'The X Factor' if I'm in the country. I know I can watch it on YouTube, but it's always a few days later and by that time someone's told you what's happened.'
Lea Michele is continuing to remember Cory Monteith the best way she knows how—through music.
First, she offered up a heartbreaking rendition of Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love" during last month's Glee tribute episode to Monteith and his character Finn Hudson.
Now, the 27-year-old actress reveals she went back into the studio to record a song for her upcoming album that definitely holds a special place in her heart.
"The album was done, and the label said, 'Do you want to add anything?' I was like, 'I might regret it if I don't,'" Michele tells Elle.
She decided to include the track "You're Mine."
"It makes me so happy, this song," she says. "It makes me think so much of Cory. It was ours. When I think if him, I play this."
While Michele has yet to reveal a release date for her album, she did tease fans with a sneak peek last month of her album cover shoot.
Meanwhile, Elle's December issue, with Michele gracing the cover, hits newsstands Nov. 19.

This past Monday, Oct 28th....despite our best efforts, my tube started to rupture and I was experiencing internal bleeding. This article was the key I needed to diagnose my own rupture and get me to go to the ER - The Lancet http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(11)61901-6/fulltext. My doctor performed a successful surgery and removed my entire right fallopian tube.
[On the bright side my other tube and ovaries are perfectly healthy. I also wanted to note that there is a theory that an appendectomy I had when i was 12 (for a ruptured appendix) had screwed up my right tube with scar tissue etc, and that's why my embryo got caught in the tube. In case you are a woman with a past appendectomy definitely take note.]
The tour dates cancelled are Vancouver, Bellingham, Portland, and Seattle.
This is a very serious and sad issue, and I am hoping that everyone be kind and understanding. Babies never survive this complication, and sometimes the mothers do not either. Wishing Miss Carlton the best for a healthy (and fertile, if that is what she wants) future.

It’s the midday rush at Olive & Thyme, a Burbank, Calif. lunch hot spot. As throngs of middle-aged women and studio execs scrape the remnants of their hummus boards, a petite 20-year-old brunette in a distressed sweater slips through the door and slides into the first corner banquette. You might imagine that the first female singer to post a No. 1 album in three years would demand a flashier arrival. But this isn’t Ariana Grande’s first rodeo. She was on Broadway at age 13 and had a role on Nickelodeon’s Victorious in 2010, before she began starring on Sam & Cat in late 2012. Her smile is little-sister cute, and she flashes it often. Why play it cool? There’s no need to act the part of the jaded pop star when you’re winning.
Even if the menopausal women and midlife-crisis-stricken men surrounding Grande at lunch aren’t fussing over her, the music industry is, thanks to a seemingly superhuman vocal range weaponized in her five-foot frame. “I love her voice,” says R&B legend Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds who produced her debut album, Yours Truly, which topped the Billboard charts last August. “Her tone is golden and it just feels good. She’s got one of those feel-good voices we haven’t heard in a long time.”
That voice has attacked pop radio this year like a drone strike. Off the mic, in the cut, her voice shifts from teen-sitcom-star singsong to a snappy, serrated Italian lilt. It’s a coup of charisma that explains why Grande was sought out and signed by Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, today’s pop music Midas.
“She’s the real deal,” Braun says, pitching her like a presidential candidate. “I don’t think she needs to worry about anything other than being who she is.” He might be right, but the business of being Ariana Grande ain’t exactly a nine-to-five, either. During a break from the 14-hour days she’s pulling working on Sam & Cat, her music—a new album is already in the works—and other assorted tasks involved with becoming the next great American Sweetheart, she cracks wise about growing up Italian, her high-profile love life, and the ghosts and demons around her that she can’t help but notice as the whole world takes notice of her.

Little Miss Sunshine has a boyfriend! Abigail Breslin is dating All Time Low band vocalist Jack Barakat, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm.
The Oscar-nominated actress, 17, who is busy promoting her new sci fi film Ender's Game, was joined by Barakat, 25, at the flick's premiere party in L.A. on Oct. 28. A source tells Us that the couple has been keeping a low profile. He recently visited Breslin on the set of her upcoming film Maggie, in which she stars as the main character of the same name.
Breslin, whose film credits include roles as Mel Gibson's daughter Bo Hess in Signs, Little Rock in Zombieland and the adorable Olive Hoover in 2006 indie hit Little Miss Sunshine, plays the older sister of the main character in Ender's Game. The movie also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Harrison Ford and Viola Davis. The film blasted to No. 1 in the weekend box office race, raking in $28 million.
Breslin and Barakat first met at an All Time Low concert back in April. While the couple looked cozy in the corner at the film's premiere party, another big-name tween pair also attended the event together: Kylie Jenner, 16, and Jaden Smith, 15. Breslin, according to an onlooker, mingled between her younger pals and the "adult section" at the event with her new beau in tow.

The cable network History is planning a new version of the iconic 1977 miniseries Roots, our sister site Deadline reports.
The highly rated, award-winning original TV event, which aired on ABC, was based on Alex Haley’s book, Roots: The Saga of an American Family and starred LeVar Burton as Kunta Kinte, an African man captured in the 1700s and sold into slavery.
Haley’s work tells the story of the man and his descendants, one of whom allegedly was Haley himself.
History has obtained rights to the 1977 version and to Haley’s book; Mark Wolper (Bates Motel), son of Roots EP David L. Wolper, is attached to exec-produce.
The new project will cast a modern eye on the story told in the book and ’70s movie, thereby reviving “that cultural icon for a new audience,” History executive vice president and general manager Dirk Hoogstra tells the site.
History had great success in the recent past with two other miniseries: The Bible, the premiere of which grabbed 13.1 million viewers, and Hatfields & McCoys, whose finale drew 14.3 million pairs of eyeballs.

Just one season and she’s gone! The Real Housewives of Orange County star Lydia McLaughlin has decided to call it quits after her freshman year on the original franchise, and she said it is “hard,” but she’s made the right decision.
“I compare it to breaking up with a boyfriend you know you’re not going to end up with — it’s hard, but overall you know you’re doing the right thing,” she told Us weekly.
The brunette is the third woman to exit the show, but she says unlike Gretchen Rossi and Alexis Bellino, she wasn’t fired and was “flattered” that producers wanted her for another season.
However, she says that her departure is “bittersweet,” but was her own decision.
“I never wanted to make a career out of being a housewife. That’s never really been a dream of mine,” the 32-year-old mother of two said.
Repeating the mantra created by Bethenny Frankel, Lydia says she needs to expand her “brand.”
“I want to build my brand outside of the Housewives — I’ve always been really honest with the producers about that. I knew that while I was filming it that I probably wasn’t going to be doing it again.”

Attack the Block director Joe Cornish is in the frame to direct the next Star Trek movie, the third in the recent series of reboots masterminded by JJ Abrams. Due to his commitments on Star Wars, Abrams recently confirmed he would not return to direct Star Trek 3 despite the success of the second instalment, Into Darkness, and Cornish has now emerged as the frontrunner to replace him, according to Deadline.
Cornish made waves with his 2011 debut, Attack the Block, which rose above its relatively limited budget of £8m to pull off some impressive special effects sequences. Though he has not directed since, he secured writing jobs on major Hollywood productions The Adventures of Tintin and Ant-Man, directed by Steven Spielberg and Edgar Wright respectively. He is also working on an adaptation of Neal Stephenson's dystopian sci-fi novel Snow Crash.
Star Trek 3 is due to begin shooting in the middle part of 2014.

Alexis Denisof is headed to MTV.
The Much Ado About Nothing alum has been tapped to co-star in the cable network's drama pilot Finding Carter, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Finding Carter is described as a family coming-of-age drama that centers on Carter, a teenager (Skins' Kathryn Prescott) who learns that her mother abducted her as a child. Bones' Emily Silver and Terri Minsky penned the script.
Prescott's Carter Stevens is described as a confident and mischievous girl who has no problem being the center of attention or the life of the party. She and her permissive single mother, Lori, have a close, sibling-like relationship. After getting into trouble with friends, Carter is taken to the police station where she learns a life-altering bombshell: that Lori is not her mother but instead the felon who abducted her when she was 3. From there, she begins to know more about her biological family, which includes a twin sister and younger brother.
Denisof will play David Wilson, Carter's father, who frequently is the family mediator and the most levelheaded in the house. As a novelist, he saw his only real success with his true crime novel Losing Lyndon about the disappearance of his daughter. Now that his daughter is back and insisting on being called Carter, he wonders if writing a follow-up book, Finding Carter, would fix what is broken in his family. Money problems and a tenuous marriage plague him, and this memoir could be the cure.
He joins a cast that includes Anna Jacoby-Heron, Zac Pullam and Nolan Sotillo.

What's a trailblazer to do when her path becomes the road most traveled? Back in 2008, The Fame introduced us to Lady Gaga as a wickedly funny pop parodist and crack songwriter with a fresh take on celebrity — one that involved brazen publicity stunts, surreal costumes, and daily look-changing (plus the occasional beef blouse).
Five years later, outrageous is the new ordinary and instant reinvention is the status quo. (What Madonna was to Gaga, Gaga is to Miley, or at least to Miley's half-drunk teddy bears.) Which lately seems like a burden for Gaga herself, who's been flitting through disposable personae — there are no fewer than nine in the video for ARTPOP's lead single, ''Applause'' — without finding any that stick. The irony of her latest album is that while Gaga is shape-shifting faster than ever, her music hasn't evolved much.
With their Hollywood-gothic imagery and rousing beats, most of the songs here would fit right in on The Fame or Born This Way. They hit enjoyable but well-worn sonic marks, from the synth-swaddled choruses of ''Aura'' and ''Sexxx Dreams'' to the barroom ivory-tickling of ''Gypsy.'' And they deal in tropes and metaphors that have become standbys in Gaga's canon: Love is a drug (''Dope''), artifice is truth (''Fashion!''), and fame is a religion in which shamelessness is next to godliness (''Applause''). Retro may be white-hot right now (see: Miley, Bruno, Daft Punk, et al.), but ARTPOP doesn't reach back far enough. In music, as in fashion, there's a critical gap between vintage and last season.
Familiarity isn't necessarily bad, though. As always, Gaga is a whiz at strong melodic lines, like the swooping hook on ''Gypsy.'' She's a clever comic who's delightfully willing to be the butt of her own jokes. (''I know that Mom and Dad think I'm a mess/But it's all right because I am rich as piss,'' she cracks on the pot ode ''Mary Jane Holland.'') As pop, the album is a well-executed and entertaining tour of Gaga's tried-and-true tricks. But as art, it falls short when it comes to one basic function: making an impression. B

Kim Kardashian weighs herself 14 times a day.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star has been committed to shedding the weight she gained while pregnant with daughter North West - who was born in June - and she reportedly monitors her progress on seven sets of scales as she doesn't trust just one set to be accurate.
A source told Yahoo! omg: "Kim has seven sets of weighing scales around her house and weighs herself on each one twice a day. Her weight loss has been her top priority and she's not stopping yet.
"She has precision digital scales, eye-level scales, two top medical scales used in the most prestigious LA clinics, her old bathroom scales she's had for years and a couple of hand-painted, handmade scales which are artists' creations."
The 33-year-old beauty, who recently got engaged to North's father, rapper Kanye West, has lost a staggering 50 pounds since giving birth and has taken up the Atkins diet - which advises a lower intake of carbohydrates - to aid her weight loss.
However, it appears Kim isn't satisfied with the results she is seeing on her various scales.
The insider added: "Kim has her favourite scales and her most hated. She doesn't believe one or two scales is enough to give her the truth for her weight loss graph. She is so focused on getting the body she wants right now that her scales are central to her life. She has an eye-level digital scale which she counts as her favourite, but a couple of fitscan scales as well."
In celebration of LGBT History Month, our friends at AT&T have launched the Love is Changing History project to demonstrate how our love is making history in everyday life.
The project encourages people to share their stories — stories of love, coming out, family — on its webpage. Each story can be viewed in an online gallery. And at the end of the campaign, each story will be included in a permanent collection at the U.S. Library of Congress.
To help promote the campaign, AT&T produced two short films. The latest film, Tale of Two Dads, co-directed by none other than Lance Bass, tells the story of an adorable gay couple preparing to have their first baby together. Illinois House Passes Marriage Equality
( Collapse )
The Illinois House of Representatives finally took up marriage equality today and passed the bill 61-54. One amendment was approved first, which includes exemptions for private clubs that are already provided under the Illinois Human Rights Act. As a result, the Senate will have to approve the bill one final time, which they are prepared to do before the evening is over. The law will then take effect June 1, 2014,. Illinois will be the 15th state to legalize marriage for same-sex couples.
The actress debuted a dramatic new 'do while stepping out for an appointment in Los Angeles today. The former Friends star rocked what looked to be an A-line bob done by her pal and longtime stylist Chris McMillan, and the star explained it was the result of needing a change and a treatment-gone-wrong.
During an exclusive interview with Elle U.K., Aniston revealed that she "actually just cut all my hair off two days ago," which the mag clarified meant the fresh cut was done on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
The A-lister went into what prompted the drastic change, telling Elle, "It wasn't for a role. My hair went through a phase—I did this thing called a Brazilian and my hair did not react really well to it. It's about two inches above my shoulders now."
And although Jen is spot on with this ongoing trend, she admitted she's not too sure about whether or not the bob was a good move. "The minute I cut my hair I want it back. Always. It's a guarantee. I'm trying really hard to love this one," she said.
However, despite not being a fan of cutting off her tresses, Aniston has openly admitted that she'd rather shave her head than get the Rachel cut again. When asked on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, "Would you rather have the Rachel haircut for the rest of your life or shave your head once?"
The actress quickly replied, "Shave my hair once, definitely. 'The Rachel' for the rest of my life? Shave my head once! Yeah, I'd shave my head once!"
Pretty sure she could pull that off, too.

In case you missed it, Kerry Washington hosted SNL over the weekend and it was a super success in the ratings. Kerry's show (with musical guest Eminem) hit a season high and earned SNL their best ratings since Justin Timberlake hosted on March 9th. "SNL" was also the #1 non-sports telecast of the night on the Big 4 networks.
Following the broadcast, Kerry attended the "SNL" after party at Asellina Ristorante with her husband Nnamdi.
Before the after party, photographers captured Nnamdi walking into the venue after Kerry, making it one of the first times we seen the couple together (since they wed and announced their pregnancy).
A source told US Weekly,
"She was adorable, as you can imagine. She was with her husband, parents and family and friends. When she arrived to the table, they gave her a standing [ovation]!"
Another source told the mag that Kerry and her family stayed at the Ritz Carlton during her rehearsals and that she and Nnamdi didn't leave the hotel Friday night. Meow.
In other Washington/Asomugha news, Nnamdi will have more time to devote to his philanthropic works as he's been cut from the San Francisco 49ers. According to ESPN, the 49ers announced on Monday that Nnamdi would be replaced by Cornerback Eric Wright.
I wish Kerry would stop being so coy about their relationship. I understand wanting privacy but c'mon, give us something.
Mods, I fixed the link.
Last week, pop quintet Fifth Harmony guided their debut EP, "Better Together," to a No. 6 debut on the Billboard 200 chart with 28,000 copies sold in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Thanks in part to the single "Miss Movin' On," the six-song collection became the highest-charting release from an alumnus of the U.S. version of "The X Factor" -- and with a full-length on the way and a winter tour supporting Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony is just getting started.
Well, I certainly didn’t see that coming.

Ryan Lochte suffers torn MCL, sprained ACL in left knee after falling to ground while catching excited female fan.— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) November 5, 2013
After a run-in with a fan - literally - Ryan Lochte will be taking some time away from the pool.
The three-time Olympian suffered a torn MCL and sprained ACL in his left knee on Sunday while he was in Florida.
The five-time gold medalist encountered an excited fan, who ran at him. Lochte caught the teenage girl, but the two toppled over in the process, his representative confirmed.
Lochte hit his knee on the curb, while the girl was unharmed.
"As a result of a freak injury caused by an unexpected fan encounter, Ryan has suffered a torn MCL and an ACL sprain and will be taking a break from training and competition," said a statement released by his publicist. "His medical team expects him to make a full and speedy recovery and Ryan thanks everyone for their well wishes."

She's not the name that some of you have expressed interest in seeing play Olivia Pope's mother on Scandal (that honor goes to Angela Bassett), but Khandi Alexander will assume that role for at least one episode of the hit ABC drama, starting this Thursday.
The veteran award-winning actress/choreographer/dancer is known for her long running roles on Treme, CSI: Miami, Newsradio, and ER, as well as for her compelling work on HBO's The Corner, and in films like CB4, Menace II Society, Poetic Justice, and Sugar Hill.
Her Scandal character's name will be Maya Lewis. It'll be a recurring role.
Should we expect fireworks?
Scandal, created by Shonda Rhimes, starring Kerry Washington, airs on Thursday nights, at 10pm, on ABC. The series is enjoying its best season ever, in terms of ratings.
Also, look for Alexander in the upcoming fourth and FINAL season of Treme, which premieres Sunday, December 1st at 9pm, only on HBO.
I don't think it will just be flashback. I think she's alive. Khandi is a wonderful actress, I'm excited.
Kanye West is probably one of the few celebrities who can relate to the criticism Miley Cyrus has received over the last few months so it comes as no surprise that the rapper has actually encouraged the controversial young singer's twerking antics following her MTV Video Music Awards appearance this summer.
Jumping to Miley's defence, Kanye said in a recent interview with station 97.1 Amp Radio: “I just met her the day of the VMAs. And I was like, you know, 'Go. Go. Just go, go for it, do what you feel.' If that was a thought, if you have an idea creatively, from a Donda perspective [the name of West's creative company] I would just want her to twerk more. That would be my thing.”
Kanye goes on to admit that perhaps there was too much going on in Miley's performance and that the singer should have twerked throughout the entire set.
“I think they just had her doing too many [things], or she decided or whatever as an artist,” he explains.

West notoriously interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech to complain that Beyoncé should have won the 'Best Female Video' award for 'Single Ladies'.
However, speaking on 97.1 Amp Radio, West appeared to stand by his comments.
"There's a lot of times in life where we're being held back on purpose," he said. "The moment people hate me the most for, at the awards show, that was inaccurate!
"Whether it was a plan to give Beyoncé the award at the end, we still haven't seen a video as good as that video, like, five years later. There still hasn't been a video that good."

After being locked in a bitter custody battle, Pauly D will finally get to meet his baby daughter this week, RadarOnline.com has learned.
The Jersey Shore star recently found out he’s the father to a 5-month-old baby girl named Amabella.
“Excited to see my baby girl next week!!!!!!!!!!” he wrote on Twitter.
Until now, the MTV star has claimed the baby’s mother, Amanda Markert, won’t allow him unsupervised visitation rights.
Sources tell Radar that Pauly filed for full custody weeks before the story went public.
As Radar previously reported, Pauly D revealed he and Markert had not been in a relationship, beyond a hook-up in Las Vegas in 2012.
“[He] wasn’t exactly planning for it to happen this way,” a source said, ”but God works in mysterious ways.”
The 33-year-old spinner revealed he is ready to step up and take responsibility.
“Sometimes in life things aren’t planned and they may even scare you at first, but they end up being a blessing, that is how I feel about having a daughter,” he said in a statement to Radar. “I’m looking forward to being a parent to her.”
Strong female characters are rarely allowed to be nuanced on TV. They don't get to be brilliant, vain or funny. They get to be strong (and maybe sexy, if they're lucky). They kick a--, overcome obstacles and rarely display any signs of feminine vulnerability. Often times, their strength is framed as the result of some "issue," (SVU's Olivia Benson troubled childhood, Sonya Cross' Asperger's on The Bridge), as though the women are only strong because a catalyst forced them to be this way.

Denise Richards:I Can't Handle Bob and Max .They Torture Dogs and People
Denise Richards has informed the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services she will NO LONGER care for the twins of Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller ... TMZ has learned.
Sources connected with DCFS tell TMZ ... Denise wrote a letter to the agency, saying the kids are violent and out of control, and she says it's ALL Brooke's fault.
DCFS sources say the letter details horrifying conduct. Denise says Bob and Max often go into a "zombie-like state" -- they repeatedly kick her dogs in the head and squeeze their heads with both hands while watching the dogs whimper in pain. She also says the kids will flip from sweetly petting the dog to strangling the animals and lifting them off the ground by the neck.
According to the letter, Denise would tell the kids they were hurting the dogs, and Bob and Max would reply that they wanted to hurt and kill the dogs.
According to the letter, the violence is not limited to animals. Denise says her daughters -- Sam, Lola and Eloise -- have been targets of the boys. She says her daughters have been strangled, kicked in the head and stomach, scratched, bit, slapped, punched in the face and head, and spit on by Bob and Max. Denise describes one incident which she seems to blame on Brooke -- after visiting Mueller, Bob threw a toy at Sam's face and she had to go to the doctor.
Denise says Bob and Max went to school in September and they have been problematic from the get-go. She says Bob in particular has harmed other kids and punched and slapped teachers in the face.
Denise says the kids have also thrown their own feces into the bathroom of one of her daughters.
In the letter, Denise connects the bad conduct to the time the kids spend at Brooke's home, claiming they act out violently when they are returned to Denise. She also says the kids have had horrible nightmares after returning from Brooke's home, where the kids would stay up with her til 4 AM.
In the long letter to DCFS, Denise -- who has temporary guardianship of the boys while Brooke deals with her drug problems -- says pediatricians have advised her to seek psychological counseling for the boys, but Brooke has blocked that effort.

Since a celebrity’s word means dirt these days, we’re trepidatious in telling you that Michael Keaton confirmed his Beetlejuice 2 involvement to TMZ.
When asked about if he’d be involved in the Tim Burton directing vehicle, his simply responded with a “Yes.” His name has always came with the project, just as Burton has always been named to direct, but it’s always nice to hear it straight from the “ghost with the most’s” mouth.
Seth Grahame-Smith is penning the screenplay that’s said to take place all these years after the first paranormal event.
I'm the ghost with the SOURCE, babe.
I've had an incredible week since I spoke from the heart, some would say via my arse, on Paxman. I've had slaps on the back, fist bumps, cheers and hugs while out and about, cock-eyed offers of political power from well intentioned chancers and some good ol' fashioned character assassinations in the papers.
The people who liked the interview said it was because I'd articulated what they were thinking. I recognise this. God knows I'd love to think the attention was about me but I said nothing new or original, it was the expression of the knowledge that democracy is irrelevant that resonated. As long as the priorities of those in government remain the interests of big business, rather than the people they were elected to serve, the impact of voting is negligible and it is our responsibility to be more active if we want real change.
Turns out that among the disenchanted is Paxman himself who spends most of his time at the meek heart of the political establishment and can't summons up the self-delusion to drag his nib across the ballot box. He, more than any of us is aware that politicians are frauds. I've not spent too much time around them, only on the telly, it's not pleasant; once you've been on Question Time and seen Boris simpering under a make-up brush it's difficult to be enthusiastic about politics.
The only reason to vote is if the vote represents power or change. I don't think it does. I fervently believe that we deserve more from our democratic system than the few derisory tit-bits tossed from the carousel of the mighty, when they hop a few inches left or right. The lazily duplicitous servants of The City expect us to gratefully participate in what amounts to little more than a political hokey cokey where every four years we get to choose what colour tie the liar who leads us wears.

Lorde has said that she can relate to Kanye West as the rapper is less intimidating than teenage girls.
The 16-year-old, who has found fame with her song 'Royals' from her first album Pure Heroine, explained that she feels uncomfortable around her peers.
"When I meet a bunch of girls my age, I find that stressful as I'm just a high school student myself. I feel intimidated by them," she told The Sun.
"But meeting people like Kanye West - people who are into what you do and understand about having a vision - I can relate to.
"He is so driven and has such a unique way of seeing things. I'd love to work with him or Prince. Meeting Prince would be such an honour."
Lorde, real name Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor, added that she has no plans to twerk like 20-year-old Miley Cyrus during her career.

Apparently Shania Twain and Katy Perry aren't on the same page when it comes to being sexy in the public eye.
About a week after Perry, 29, said today's pop stars need to "put it away" when it comes to showing too much skin, Twain, 48, told ET Canada in an episode airing Monday as a part of its Shania week, "I don't think pop stars are too sexy now. The boundaries are really up to the individual and then it's up to the viewer whether they like it or not."
Looking back on being criticized for showing her stomach in a music video before it was common, Twain said, "I'm very comfortable with myself. I'm not bearing my midriff for effect or for shock factor ... I'm just doing it because I like my midriff."
Reflecting on her new music, the country singer revealed that creating such a personal album brought out her "really angry" side.
Learning of her ex-husband's affair in 2008, Twain has talked about how the experienceleft her devastated, to the point where she "didn't want to live."
Explained Twain in Monday's show, "In real life, when I'm writing this stuff I'm probably swearingevery third word as I'm working through all of the emotion that's really there."
