Champagne Papi turns 27

Last night, our favorite Scorpio man was looking real nice as he watched the Toronto Raptors take on the Memphis Grizzlies, before bringing his birthday in with a bang at midnight. For the occasion, his tour mates Future (no beef here), and Miguel joined him as he made an outfit change and popped bottles all night. Happy 27th!

Princess Madeleine Wears The Most Princess-y Maternity Gown Ever

Maternity evening gowns are what separate princesses from plebeians. When it comes to dressing a baby bump, there just aren't too many non-royals (or celebrities) in the market for such an item.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden, New York's resident royal, showed off her take on maternity formalwear yesterday at the 2013 New York Green Summit and Royal Gala. Stepping out with her financier husband, Christopher O'Neill, Madeleine looked like a real-life Cinderella in a powder blue evening gown, complete with lace detailing and an accent belt just above her bump.

Thank you, Madeleine, for going all out in the princess department at almost 4 months pregnant -- we know how annoying it must be to forfeit your jeggings and maternity blouses, even for just a few hours.

Kylie Minogue could hold the key to Alzheimer's, scientists say

KYLIE Minogue’s stickiest hit will be used in the battle against Alzheimer's, with scientists hoping its catchy musical fragments can be used to trigger memories.

The Aussie songstress’ aptly-titled Can’t Get You Out Of My Head was named the catchiest song of all time this week in a poll of 700 celebrities, who also voted Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines and Daft Punk's Get Lucky among the tunes most likely to become stuck in their heads, according to England’s Daily Mail.

The survey, organised by the Manchester Science Festival, was used to launch the largest ever experiment into what makes music memorable.

Bethenny headed back to Bravo as talk show TANKS????

With Bethenny Frankel’s new talk show ratings continuing to drop (dropping to number 14 out of 18 in the ranking of Talk Shows), the aggressive self-promoter is looking to return to the place that made her famous – reality TV!

“She is very careful with money and has made enough that she does not have to work again, however, I am not sure she knows how to live, when she is NOT on camera,” a friend of the former Real Housewife tells NAUGHTY BUT NICE ROB.

Bethenny has appeared on a total of EIGHT reality shows already, and if her ratings-challenged talk show gets cancelled, she plans to return to ‘reality’

North Carolina GOP precinct chair is fired over racist Daily Show interview

Last night's episode of The Daily Show featured an instant-classic segment on voter suppression and I.D. laws starring a painfully honest avatar for the darkest (whitest) corner of the Republican Party. The thing about Buncombe County Republican precinct chair Don Yelton, a conservative activist described as "the Rush Limbaugh of Western North Carolina," is that he's not hiding.

On the subject of the state's new law meant to limit minority voters, Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi offers, "The law is not racist and you're not racist," at which point Yelton stops him, perhaps mid-overdose on truth serum. "Well," he says, with a heavy pause, "I've been called a bigot before."

Yelton then demonstrates why. Here are his Top 5 Racist Remarks Delivered in Front of a Camera, each expressed with generous amounts of sincerity:

5. "Matter of fact, one of my best friends is black."

4. "When I was a young man, you didn't call a black a black, you called him a negro."

3. "I had a picture one time of Obama sittin' on a stump as a witch doctor and I posted that on Facebook. I was making fun of the white half of Obama, not the black half."

2. "If [the law] hurts the whites so be it. If it hurts a bunch of lazy blacks that want the government to give them everything, so be it."

1. "Now you have a black person using the term n***** this and n***** that and it's okay for them to do it."

Mandvi, rendered nearly speechless, responds, "You know that we can hear you, right?"

Scarlett Johnannson talks dating DRAMA!!!!

Scarlett Johansson admits she has had a miserable time on the dating scene.

While she may be one of the most desirable women in the world, the 'Hitchcock' actress - who recently got engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac - reveals that, like most women, she has experienced lulls where she was desperate to be asked out by a handsome guy.

In an interview with the new issue of Total Film magazine, she explained: "I never really dated that much. I was in long-term relationships for a long period of time. It was not so much about the 'I can't get a date' moment - most of the time I had a boyfriend - but there was a point I couldn't get a date. I thought, 'I just wish somebody would ask me out on a regular date.' And then maybe if we do that, we can go out on another date."

The stunning starlet - who was previously married to hunky actor Ryan Reynolds - also revealed that she feels satisfaction in her career when smaller movies, like her new comedy 'Don Jon' with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, succeed at the box office.

Scarlett, who also has a role in the blockbuster 'Avengers' franchise, said: "I've had more small films that succeeded [than big films]. That always feels like a huge accomplishment. I think it's more effective when a small film succeeds than when a big movie fails. I don't know why, but for some reason, it's more profound. When a big movie fails, it's usually not your fault."

Michael K. Williams Will Chase David Oyelowo In Thriller 'Captive' (Based On True Events)

Michael K. Williams has joined David Oyelowo and Kate Mara in BN Films' thriller Captive.

Oyelowo stars in the project inspired by on the true 2005, Atlanta, GA-set story of a man named Brian Nichols, who escaped from a courthouse jail and killed the judge assigned to his case, as well as the court reporter, sherriff's deputy and an FBI officer. He then led federal and local police on a statewide manhunt, during which he took a single mother with a drug addiction hostage in her own apartment, where she would eventually use the wisdom from a book in her possession (Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life) to reason with Nichols.

Oyelowo will play Brian Nichols, while Kate Mara will play the single mother he takes hostage - Ashley Smith.

Williams has signed up to play a lead detective on Nichols' case.

Leonor Varela and Mimi Rogers round out the cast.

Jerry Jameson (Raise the Titanic) is attached to direct, from a script adapted by Brian Bird and Reinhard Denke (from Ashley Smith’s best-selling book An Unlikely Angel), with Brightside Entertainment, 1019 Entertainment and Oyelowo’s Yoruba (I see you giving a nod to your nigerian roots, lol - op) Saxon Productions, all serving as producers.

Katrina Wolfe, Jonathan Gray, Ralph Winter, Elliott Lester and Bird are executive producing.

Principal photography is set to begin this month.

Williams can currently be seen (albeit briefly) in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave.

David Oyelowo's career seems to be finally picking up steam. I'm assuming he is lead in this or are they going to give that to Kate Mara?!

Lance Bass Might Televise His Wedding

We've been eagerly waiting for Lance Bass to dish wedding planning dirt since his romantic proposal to boyfriend Michael Turchin in New Orleans' Jackson Square. We're happy to report, we've hit the motherlode: Bass divulged exciting details to ABC News earlier today that a televised wedding special may be in the works.
This is a far cry from fellow 'NSYNC alum Justin Timberlake's hush hush approach to wedding planning. (The "Take Back the Night" singer wed love Jessica Biel in Italy just last year in near secrecy.)
"I love a party. It's going to be nice and big and over-the-top," Bass said. "The network offered us a big wedding special. Knowing myself in the 1980s growing up a gay kid in Mississippi, I would loved to have seen something on TV I could relate to and go, 'Oh, my gosh, I could do that!'"
Though he declined to name the network in question, he said the event will take place outdoors next fall. As for the wedding itself, Bass said that he and his fiancé plan on doing things "our own way."
"I don't know if we will even have groomsmen or bridesmaids," he said. "Since there's no wedding dress, and half the excitement of a wedding is to see the wedding dress and what it looks like... we're wanting all of our guests to come [dressed] completely over-the-top, high fashion like you're heading to the MET Ball or the Royal Wedding."
If that's the case, we're definitely pinning our hopes on a Kardashian- or Bachelor-style TV nuptials! Imagine a VMA-esque 'NSYNC reunion, complete with color-coordinated metallic track pants (hey, a girl can dream), a romantic outdoor venue, and all-star guests. Need we say more?
Actually, we do. In addition to dishing on his wedding, Bass also told ABC News about his Love Is Changing History project, a collaboration for LGBT History Month in October, in which AT&T will donate $1 to The Trevor Project every time the website, videos or personal story submissions are shared. He also stated his relief at the demise of the federal Defense of Marriage Act in June.

It’s Time To Say Good-Bye To TV’s Strong Black Woman

The comparisons between Scandal and Sleepy Hollow are inevitable. Two dramas with black female leads (still a rarity, though they premiered long after the first show that could boast the same). Each have a rapidly expanding popularity, both in spite of and because of their outlandish storylines. And the main characters are powerful, attractive black women who have chosen careers that protect others from harm.

On Scandal, Kerry Washington is Olivia Pope, a lawyer who specializes in crisis management (based on real-life D.C. fixer Judy Smith), helping clients keep their secrets and reputations intact. And on the more supernatural Sleepy Hollow, Nicole Beharie is Lt. Abbie Mills, a police officer in the small eponymous town, where she discovers she plays a role in a potential biblical prophecy. In each of their worlds, Olivia and Abbie must think about the safety and needs of others first, maintain cool heads as they navigate high-stress environments, and quickly and efficiently solve problems. And as in any classic can-she-have-it-all narrative, they’re compelled to sacrifice elements of their personal lives for the work.

Of course, on their own, these characteristics are not unusual for a protagonist to have, but when you add race and gender, it’s clear that Olivia and Abbie come dangerously close to being Strong Black Women: women who can take on the world with no thought of their own needs, without emotion, and without complaint.

Favre’s admission of memory loss a sad, familiar chorus of former NFL players

One of the bigger stories this week was that the St. Louis Rams may or may not have inquired about the status of retired quarterback Brett Favre, following the loss of Sam Bradford for the season.

But there was an interesting and saddening subplot to the story. One reason why Favre might not be considering coming back is that he admitted Thursday that he suffers from memory loss in an interview with SportsTalk 570 in Washington D.C., via CBS Chicago.

“This was a little shocking to me that I couldn’t remember my daughter playing youth soccer,” Favre said. “It was just one summer, I think. I could remember her playing basketball, I could remember her playing volleyball, so I kind of think maybe (I thought) she only played a (soccer) game or two. Well, I think she played like eight. So that’s a little bit scary to me. So for the first time in 44 years, that kind of put a little fear in me.”

As well it should. And it has become an all-too-familiar chorus for retired NFL players.

"Charmed" reboot in the works at CBS

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

CBS knows witch way it’s headed this pilot season.

The network has ordered a pilot script for a reboot of Charmed, the long-running, magical-sisters drama that ended in 2006 after eight seasons on The WB.

According to Vulture, which broke the news, the project will be written by Chris Keyser (executive producer, Party of Five and Lone Star) and partner Syndey Sidner, and will reimagine the Aaron Spelling series that starred Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty (who was replaced by Rose McGowan at the end of Season 3).

If Charmed gets ordered to series, it would join Lifetime’s similarly themed Witches of East End — which also follows a sisterhood of spellcasters fighting against evil — as well as FX’s current American Horror Story: Coven, The CW’s The Vampire Diaries and Fox’s Sleepy Hollow as hit shows prominently featuring sorceresses in their plots.

Chris Eccleston's Publicist is Kind of a Dick, Awkward Interview Ensues

Christopher Eccleston (or rather his publicist) is anxious that I tell you all about the make-up and prosthetics that he wears in Thor: The Dark World. It’s certainly an impressive get-up if cyber- goth chic is your thing: silver ponytail, pointy ears, metallic contact lenses, scarred white face and kinky codpiece.

The Marvel sequel, in which Chris Hemsworth returns as the himbo thunder god and Eccleston plays his new nemesis, a genocidal dark elf called Malekith, is as silly and enjoyable as its predecessor. It’s not really enough to fill an entire interview, however, which is what the gatekeeper, who sits with us in the Central London hotel room throughout, seems to want.

This is annoying because Eccleston is one of the most powerful actors of his generation, with 30 years of roles to talk about, many of them more interesting than Malekith. He has a reputation as intense, chippy, brooding. This is partly because those are the kinds of men he has played on film (Jude, Shallow Grave), television (Hillsborough. Our Friends in the North) and stage (Antigone at the National), and partly because he can be, well, a bit bristly in interviews.

BBC Two announces second series of Peaky Blinders

BBC Two Controller, Janice Hadlow and BBC Controller, Drama Commissioning, Ben Stephenson, today announce Steven Knight's Peaky Blinders has been re-commissioned for a second series from Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions.

With a consolidated average audience of 2.4 Million (9.6%) for series one, the epic gangster drama series set in the lawless streets of post-war Birmingham on the cusp of the 1920s will return in 2014 with a new six-part series.

Creator and writer Steven Knight says: "I am so pleased we will be able to continue to tell this story of a working class family living through extraordinary times in an extraordinary way. The ‘Peaky Blinders’ will march on to many surprising places and fight astonishing battles as the 1920s begin to roar."

The second series will see the Shelby family expand their empire South and North while maintaining a stronghold in their Birmingham heartland.

Caryn Mandabach, Executive Producer, Caryn Mandabach Productions, says: "We've been thrilled by the passionate responses Peaky Blinders has been getting from viewers all over the country. Like them, I can't wait for Thomas Shelby's story to continue."

Janice Hadlow, Controller, BBC Two, adds: “With a fantastic cast and epic story-telling, Peaky Blinders was an utterly compelling addition to the BBC Two schedule and I’m delighted we’ll be paying another visit to the Shelby family next year.”

Tommy’s attempts to make the business legitimate will be undermined by sinister forces, and his ascent into the decadent high society of Twenties England will be helped by his gangster credentials.

Frankel’s Talk Show STILL Flopping: ‘Bethenny’ Slips In Ratings To #14

Bethenny Frankel‘s daytime talk show continues to slip in the ratings, and RadarOnline.com has learned the former Real Housewives of New York City star’s show has dropped to number 14 — out of just 18.According to the rating numbers ending the week of Oct. 13, Bethenny is holding steady at number 2 in terms of talk show newcomers (behind Queen Latifah), but in overall household rankings she’s only bringing slightly more viewers than Arsenio, The Test and Trisha which are tied for number 16, andThe Better Show.Bethenny showed no changes in their viewership from the week before — neither losing nor gaining viewers — and this will likely spell trouble for the struggling talk show.As Radar previously reported, Frankel’s talk show boss, Ellen DeGeneres, even appeared on her show (via satellite) in an attempt to help out the ratings-starved talk show.

But Frankel blames a poor showing during her first season on a lack of A-list guests — which DeGeneres promised her.“[Frankel] is absolutely peeved that she has been unable to get a big name celebrity to come on. Frankel was told numerous times by DeGeneres before the show premiered that she would absolutely help her in getting all of the big names in show business,” a source close to the situation told Radar.“During Bethenny’s trial run, DeGeneres pulled some strings and got Justin Bieber to come on. DeGeneres’ former booker is now working for Bethenny but he’s been unable to get Sandra Bullock,Gwyneth Paltrow or Miley Cyrus.”In fact, Frankel couldn’t even get her old Bravo co-stars to appear on her show!Jill Zarin and Alex McCord were both offered an insulting $400 to appear on the show and rejected the pitiful plea.

The end is nigh: Fox picks up Dads for a full season

Though it comes as little surprise given Friday's scheduling news and the recent script order, Fox is making its plans to stick with Dads official. The network has ordered an additional nine episodes from the Seth MacFarlane executive produced series, bringing its freshman order to a full 22 episodes. It joins fellow freshmen Brooklyn Nine-Nine (picked up for an back nine) and Sleepy Hollow (renewed for a second season) as the third new Fox show to get a big vote of confidence this season.

Additionally ordered for six episodes in a straight-to-series order in January, Dads comes from Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild (Family Guy, Ted) and stars Seth Green, Giovanni Ribisi, Martin Mull and Peter Riegert. The Simpsons' Mike Scully also serves as executive producer.

“Fox has been looking to break into the multi-camera format for some time,” said Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. “With Dads, we have an asset that we can grow, and we’re looking forward to seeing where the fantastic cast and the creative minds of Seth, Alec, Mike and Wellesley take us the rest of the season.”

Growth would be ideal for Dads. The series has been the softest performer on Tuesday's comedy block. Though its ratings are on par with The Mindy Project, currently averaging a 2.2 rating with adults 18-49 in Live+Seven Day returns, it has not gotten near as much traction as lead-out Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Multiplatform returns released Friday have the pilot thus far grossing 14.7 million views.

Dads, produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Fuzzy Door Productions, benefited from a great deal of buzz leading up to the fall season -- though most of that buzz came from negative press. Fox parlayed the poor reviews into commercials featuring viewers refuting criticisms while coming out of screenings.

Jon Cryer’s ex-wife wants child support bumped from $8,000 to $88,000 a month

Jon Cryer's ex wife claims their 13-year-old son is becoming the object of scorn and ridicule at his exclusive private school because the other kids have a caviar lifestyle and she's forced to live in the world of spam ... and that's why she's asking a judge to squeeze $88k a month from Jon in child support.

Get ready to throw something at the computer (or mobile device), 'cause this is gonna piss you off.

Sarah Trigger has been getting a measly $8,000 a month in child support since 2010. It galls her that Jon is making a fortune on "Two and a Half Men" -- she claims $2 mil a month!

Sarah says life is awful. She says her son Charlie can't afford the ritzy summer camps his friends attend. She says Charlie's friends go on "exotic vacations in the summer and winter like Europe and Thailand." He can't go.

It gets worse. Sarah says Charlie's friends at The Buckley School have "huge birthday parties at expensive places like Sky High Sports and they invite the entire grade." And worst of all ... the Bar Mitzvahs. Sarah says, "Last year there were multiple Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs all with custom invitations, a dress code and huge private receptions afterward."

Sarah says Charlie is feeling the pain, and so is she. Sarah says when she got child support back in 2010, she only had custody 4% of the time ... and that's why she only got $8,000 a month. Now she has custody 50% of the time, so she wants a cool $88,969 a month.

The 69 is clearly for Jon.

FOX is announcing premieres dates for new and returning series, including the returns of American Idol and THE FOLLOWING, and the debut of new legal drama RAKE.

Featuring host Ryan Seacrest, a new judging panel, including Harry Connick, Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson returning as the new in-house mentor, American Idol XIII begins with an exciting two-night, four-hour premiere Wednesday, Jan. 15 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Jan. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Following the season finale of SLEEPY HOLLOW at a special time on Monday, Jan. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), last season’s No. 1 new series THE FOLLOWING (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) begins its 15-week uninterrupted second season. The only thing I'm WTF'ing about is the Sleepy Hollow finale. It's not like The Following needs a boost from it.

Why Everyone Loves to Hate Mellie Grant From "Scandal"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

"I'm on my knees thanking God for this everyday," laughs Bellamy Young, who plays First Lady Mellie Grant on the smash television hit Scandal. Standing by President Grant's side – whether he wants her there or not – she's tough as nails, brilliant and ambitious – and also one of the most polarizing characters in recent history. "People just love to hate me!" she tells Rolling Stone. "But it's with glee, not actual ferocity."

Young doesn't mind the attention, considering her character was supposed to last just three episodes. "I only had two lines in the pilot!" Young says. "At the first table read, [creator] Shonda [Rimes] said my character was going to have a short arc, because she wanted to do a Presidential divorce. I was crushed." That will come as a shock to most Scandal fans, who know that Mellie has far exceeded her life expectancy. "They found her fulcrum," explains Young. "They found how useful she could be in this story."

Malaysia Bans Ke$ha Concert, Cites 'Culture' Clash

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Authorities in Muslim-majority Malaysia have banned a planned concert by U.S. pop singer Ke$ha after deciding it would hurt cultural and religious sensitivities.

Concert organizer Livescape said it received a letter about the decision on the eve of the show that was to be held Saturday at a Kuala Lumpur stadium.

The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia said separately that it was rejecting the application for Ke$ha to perform for reasons of religion and culture.

The ministry's statement did not elaborate. Ke$ha, whose hits include "Tik Tok" and "Die Young," has songs that make explicit references to sex and liquor.

Last month, Malaysian officials also barred a performance by American metal band Lamb of God, accusing the Grammy-nominated group's work of being blasphemous.

Ke$ha and her team had previously agreed to modify their planned show in Malaysia, including making changes to her song lyrics and wardrobe, to comply with the government's general guidelines for performers, Livescape said in its statement.

Livescape said it was losing more than 1.1 million ringgit ($350,000) because of the ban. It urged the Malaysian government to "engage in a productive dialogue" with concert promoters to prevent similar incidents.
