Ja'mie to mock Asians, lesbians in new show

Chris Lilley's much-anticipated new comedy Ja'mie: Private School Girl, will premiere on ABC1 at 9pm (AEDT) on October 23.

A teaser trailer to the forthcoming six-part, half-hour comedy series was released on Wednesday.

Ja'mie King is one of comedian Lilley's most popular characters. She was a hit with audiences on 2005's We Can Be Heroes: Finding The Australian of the Year and 2007's Summer Heights High.

The new show follows the catty 17-year-old in her final school year at Hillford Girls Grammar School.

The mockumentary has the "prettiest girl in school" back to her old tricks: getting into cat fights, bullying less popular girls with her clique of minion, mocking students with a disability, Asian girls and lesbians, and showing off her many 'abilities' in the sports field and on the stage.

"I'm basically what I like to say, 'cos my name's Jamie, Jam-azing."

Rupert Grint's Super Clyde pilot is now online!

Rupert Grint is currently promoting his appearance in CBGB, but he came very close to being a CBS comedy star. The Eye network last spring shot a pilot for a single-camera comedy called Super Clyde, in which the former Harry Potter star played a comic book dude who inherits a boatload of money from a crazy uncle and decides to become something of a superhero, giving help to those in need.

More Shots Fired: "Blue Is The Warmest Colour" Actress/Director Feud Round 5,294,277,652,797,377,598

We can't even keep score with the back and forth between "Blue Is The Warmest Color" director Abdellatif Kechiche, and the stars of the Cannes Palme d'Or winning film, Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos. While they may have all been smiles and hugs on the Croisette, in the run up to the film's release this fall both in France and the U.S., bitter feelings have risen to the surface. The actresses have been very vocal about what they felt was an unbearable shoot, while Kechiche has gone so far as to suggest the movie shouldn't be released at all. And the battle of wills continues.

Painter-novelist James Franco “The Animals” Exhibition

James Franco’s exhibition, titled The Animals, brings together paintings, photographs, and video.

Each medium acts as documentation or ephemera of performances he composed, which involved a group of individuals wearing animal-type costumes. The “animals” represented androgynous figures and wore Venetian masks, lending the characters a carnival-like appearance. These sexless beings capture something essential and childlike – creatures communicating through behavior rather than speech.

Engaging in a variety of physical activities, such as dance and dodge ball, they used these actions as modes of non-verbal interaction. The “animals,” covered with wet paint during these improvisational activities, left gestural traces of their movements behind. They performed on top of canvasses printed with images from earlier enactments, which resulted in work stacked with multiple layers of information.

The performances, videos, paintings, and photographs all come together in layer after layer of media, fusing the different disciplines and approaches. No layer dominates – they fold into each other, repeatedly. With each coat and action, chaos and order visually ebb and flow, as every element adds to the narrative.

Samsung uses Lorde's 'Royals to advertise to street urchins

Here are some quick facts:

1. "Royals" is about rejecting the ostentatious displays of materialism that dominate much of popular music and finding happiness in everyday teenage life. "As one of the few teenage voices in music that isn't like... Justin Bieber, I didn't want to glorify that perspective," Lorde told The Huffington Post in July. "This is just what it is and if this is you, too, then cool."

2. Samsung just used "Royals" in an ad called "The Developer" featuring the $300 Galaxy Note 3 and $300 Galaxy Gear smartwatch.

3. The ad features street urchins singing "Royals" while spying on soccer superstar Lionel Messi, one of the most highly paid soccer players in the world. Messi is walking around their slum wearing a sharply tailored suit. At the end, he uses the Note and the Gear to demolish an abandoned building, creating a soccer field onto which the urchins excitedly run. It is not clear if the urchins are excited to play soccer, or if they are simply hoping Messi will provide them with food and shelter.

4. According to the accompanying text, this is meant to be a "dramatic retelling of actual projects completed by the Messi Foundation." None of that is made clear in the ad itself.

5. Whatever the hell is going on, it is the exact opposite of the message contained in "Royals," and speaks to Samsung's intensely weird lack of self-awareness and almost complete inability to sense irony in any form whatsoever.

Katie Couric's talk show looks to be coming to an end...

Soft ratings, a huge budget and "disdain" for her female audience — Q Scores report only 10 percent of women view Couric favorably — have the host's Disney/ABC talk show in jeopardy as a renewal decision nears.

One of the TV's priciest daytime experiments soon could be coming to an end. Stations throughout the U.S. are contracted to carry Katie Couric's syndicated talk show through summer 2014, but the decision on whether Katie will score a third season likely will be made this month -- and renewal seems a long shot.

Disney tightens up resort disability program

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(CNN) -- Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort will no longer allow visitors with disabilities instant access to rides, starting next month today, in an attempt to reduce abuse of the policy. Under the current policy, Disney visitors can get a guest assistance card that grants quicker access to rides, often entering through exit doors to bypass the main lines. There were widespread reports of able-bodied people abusing the policy.

Some wealthy park visitors were hiring disabled people to pretend to be family members so they could skip lines, the New York Post reported in May. Social researcher Wednesday Martin learned about the practice while researching a book about New York's Park Avenue elite, the Post reported. "It really is happening," Martin told CNN's "Starting Point" in May. Starting October 9, guests with a new disability access card will be issued a ticket with a time to enter an attraction, based on the current wait time, so they don't have to stay in line. Disney fan site Miceage.com broke the news of the policy change last week.

Cheryl Cole splits from boyfriend

Singer Cheryl Cole has split from boyfriend Tre Holloway.

A spokesperson for the singer confirmed to MailOnline that the 30-year-old singer has ended her relationship with dancer Tre after 14 months together.

It is believed the pair called time on their romance back in June, but have remained friends since.

After the news broke, Cheryl took to Twitter to thank her fans, aka her 'little soldiers' for their support.

She wrote: 'Sometimes I just sit here by myself wondering why you're all so kind and nice and caring towards me. It's gets overwhelming. #soldiers

'Thank you for everything I mean that from the [heart] I love you. You're amazing. (sic)'

Cheryl and Tre, who were last seen together at the end of September as they attended the NFL American Football game at Wembley, are believed to have found the long distance too much.

Josh Hutcherson on fame, his gay uncles' legacy, and how the best thing for his 'Hunger Games' character might be a threesome

By Shana Naomi Krochmal
Photography by Nino Muñoz | Styling by Neil Rodgers

We’ve barely started lunch, and I’m nowhere near my usual open-ended sexuality question, when Josh Hutcherson offers this: “I would probably list myself as mostly straight.”

That “mostly” is what makes Hutcherson winningly uninhibited, but also typical of his generation. New research published in The New York Times in 2010 shows that an increasing number of guys his age identify as “mostly straight,” and Hutcherson’s ease in embracing ambiguity over neat and secure boxes speaks to his self-assurance.

“Maybe I could say right now I’m 100% straight,” he says. “But who knows? In a fucking year, I could meet a guy and be like, Whoa, I’m attracted to this person.”

Kris Jenner - We're Just Happier Apart

Kris Jenner is not looking to bang anyone, nor is Bruce, in the wake of their separation ... so says Kris.

Jenner tells TMZ ... her separation from Bruce was not in the least bit acrimonious ... she says she and Bruce still love each other, get along great, work together, talk on the phone 12 times a day, and remain "best friends."  She says there was no "last straw."

So that begs the question ... Why separate?  Kris simply says, "We're just happier living apart."

And, she's neither ruling out divorce or, for that matter, getting back together ... "Who knows?  We don't have a crystal ball."

Kris says she and Bruce were talking yesterday about planning their big, annual XMAS eve party, so "everything is normal."

As for dating someone else, Kris says, "WE haven't even discussed.  There hasn't been a thought or a twinkle."

As for reports Bruce felt bullied by the women, Kris scoffed and said, "He's a big boy.  He can more than take care of himself."

Katzenberg Offered to Pay $75 million for Three Extra ‘Breaking Bad’ Episodes

CANNES — Jeffrey Katzenberg, the CEO of DreamWorks Animation, told an audience of TV execs at the Mipcom mart in Cannes that six weeks ago he offered to commission three extra episodes — totaling 180 minutes — of “Breaking Bad.” He offered to pay $25 million per episode, he said.

The episodes would continue from where the show ended.

“I had this crazy idea. I was nuts for the show. I had no idea where this season was going,” he said during the keynote session at Mipcom.

“The last series cost about $3.5 million an episode. So they would make more profit from these three shows than they made from five years of the entire series,” he said.

He explained that he had intended to show the extra content as six-minute segments over 30 days online.

“I said (to them), ‘I’m going to create the greatest pay-per-view television event for scripted programming anybody’s ever done,’ ” he explained.

He planned to charge viewers from around 50 cents to 99 cents per episode.

However, this was before Katzenberg knew where the “Breaking Bad” creative team were taking the storyline, which meant his idea was a non-starter.

Katzenberg told the anecdote to illustrate his belief in the commercial potential of short-form content online.

“I share the story with you only to tell you that I have the courage of my convictions in this. I just think that there is a whole new platform for (short form) entertainment … and the higher the quality of the stuff that fills it, the higher people will be paid for the work that they are doing there,” he said.

DreamWorks Animation bought YouTube entertainment network AwesomenessTV for $33 million at the end of April.

Jonas Brothers cancel tour--is band breaking up?

The Jonas Brothers are canceling their tour – two days before it was set to begin, PEOPLE has learned. The reason?

"There is a deep rift within the band," their spokesman, Jesse Derris, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "There was a big a disagreement over their music direction."

Over the weekend, an argument between the trio – Nick, 21, Joe, 24, and Kevin, 25 – regarding the direction of the band and its music led to the decision to cancel their 19-date tour, which was to kick off Friday.

Ticket holders' money will be refunded.

Meanwhile, it isn't clear what this means for the Jonas Brothers, who became a huge success – selling over 20 million albums worldwide – after signing with Hollywood Records in 2007. Asked what the future holds, their rep tells PEOPLE, "It remains to be seen."

Over the last few years, the brothers have each pursued other projects. Nick and Joe released solo albums and pursued acting careers while Kevin and his wife Danielle have starred in their own reality series, E!'s Married to Jonas.

Earlier this year, the band released new music, with the single "Pom Poms" and more recently, "First Time," with more to come off of their project, V. Now, that is also up in the air.

A source close to the band says this doesn't have to do with the fact Kevin and Danielle are expecting their first child, clarifying that it's only about "creative differences."

Coach doesn't want to make 'Friday Night Lights' movie

There’s always a Friday Night Lights movie just around the corner — always just around the corner.” — Peter Berg

Last we saw Eric and Tami Taylor on Friday Night Lights, they’d left Texas for Philadelphia, where Tami became dean of admissions at a prestigious school and Coach was starting from scratch with a new crop of inner-city football players. But series creator Peter Berg and showrunner Jason Katims had barely wrapped the show’s five-season run in 2011 when both men began dropping hints that they wanted to bring these beloved characters to the big screen. (Of course, the television show was itself based on Berg’s 2004 movie, which in turn was based on Buzz Bissinger’s 1990 book.) So thanks to their big mouths, the show’s beloved cast has had to answer movie questions every time they do an interview (or speak to any human being in the course of a day, most likely).

Monday night on Watch What Happens Live, Nashville‘s Connie Britton told Andy Cohen that she’d love to make another Friday Night Lights movie, but that such plans are being complicated by someone crucial to the story who doesn’t share her enthusiasm. “Some people are really excited about it and other people aren’t,” she said. “I love the idea. I think it’d be a great idea. But my former [TV] husband…"

Lee Thompson Young case closed...suffered from bipolar disorder before suicide.

Former Disney Channel star Lee Thompson Young died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was taking drugs to treat depression but had no illicit substances in his body at the time of his death, an autopsy report released Tuesday by the Los Angeles County coroner found.

Young, best known for playing the title character on the Disney Channel show “The Famous Jett Jackson,” died at his North Hollywood apartment of a gunshot to the right temple.

At the time of his death, Young had a history “of bi-polar disorder and depression” and was taking lithium and quetiapine fumarate, the coroner’s report states. Toxicology tests found no sign of illicit drugs.

The 29-year-old actor was last heard from August 17th at 2:30 p.m. when he had a conversation with a friend. When he failed to show up for work at a movie set, friends requested authorities to make a “welfare check.” Young was found next to a couch on the 19th.

A witness who was not identified in the report denied to coroner’s officials that he had made any previous suicide threats or attempts, and said she was unaware of any financial problems.

The weapon used in the suicide was described in the report as 40 caliber Sig Sauer semi-automatic handgun and was registered to Young. There were nine rounds left in the gun and one spent shell recovered from the bottom cushion of the couch.

The South Carolina native is best known for the title role in the Disney Channel series "The Famous Jett Jackson." He also appeared in the ABC drama "Flash Forward" and the movie "Friday Night Lights."

In 2010, Young was cast as Detective Barry Frost on the TNT police drama "Rizzoli & Isles.”

At the time of his death, Young’s manager Jonathan Baruch released a statement to the entertainment site “Deadline” calling his client “more than just a brilliant young actor ... a wonderful and gentle soul.”

Pusha T's 10 (5) Favorite Movie Gangsters

Pusha T takes gangsters seriously. And if a portrayal of a gangster, whether its on wax or on screen, falls flat, Pusha T will tell you about it. Discussing recent crime movies, the debacle that is Gangster Squad came up. "That title alone," Pusha said, on the verge of disgust. "What the fuck? I'm seeing a comic book already, bruh."

So, what's the worst gangster movie he's ever seen? Blue Hill Avenue. "It's set in Boston, and it's not put together well, as far as the look goes. They're dressed like church boys the whole movie. In the '80s. The '80s in the northeast is the rise of the golden age of hip-hop, with Rakim, Slick Rick, and Kane, and they're all dressed immaculately, every day. And these motherfuckers have on trench coats all the time? Fuck that. It annoyed me."

The look can do a lot, he explained. "The look of State Property makes up for the amateur acting," he said, to make his point. Which big-screen villains work best, then? Find out as Pusha T discusses his favorite movie bad guys.

Frank Costello

As seen in: The Departed (2006)

Fifth Harmony being cute and singing tweets

Lamar Odom is flying to New York later today ... to meet with honchos from several basketball teams, and he's carrying what he claims is proof that he's clean and sober ... sources connected with Lamar tell TMZ.

Our sources say on Tuesday ... Lamar underwent blood and urine tests for drugs, and he tested NEGATIVE for drugs.

This is consistent with what other sources have told us about his time with the Kardashians on Tuesday.  We're told he was lucid and showed no signs of being under the influence of drugs.

We're told Lamar has had private conversations with execs from several teams who have expressed interest in him, provided he could show he was clean ... and the purpose of the trip is to meet with them and possibly strike a deal.

Our sources also say Lamar wanted to go to New York to visit his family, and get away from "the negative energy."

And finally, our sources tell us Lamar says he's had his fun with drugs and is ready to re-start his basketball career.  Fact is ... he's done that before.

Bruce Jenner Speaks Out: 'Nobody Is Filing for Divorce'

Looking for drama or dirt?

Opening up to PEOPLE, Bruce Jenner insists it simply isn't there, and that his separation from Kris Jenner is so amicable that he'll continue to appear on the family's reality show.

"I'm doing great," the former Olympian, 63, tells PEOPLE. "Kris is happy, I'm happy. Nobody is filing for divorce."

Despite that fact that he has been living apart from Kris for months, Bruce says he'll be seen on upcoming episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians, and will remain happily living in his Malibu pad.

"Kris has her own place and I have my own place. There's no animosity. Everything is good," he says.

As far as venturing out into the dating scene after 22 years of marriage to Kris?

"No!" Jenner says with a laugh. "We're not going there. I have my family, I have my kids. All my time is filled."

Behold, Marilyn Manson With No Makeup...

Go ahead ... take a good look.

That's Marilyn Manson -- AKA Brian Hugh Warner -- getting all actor-y on the set of the TV show, "Eastbound & Down" ... where he's shooting a cameo role this week.  This is his intense look.

Manson is a huge fan of "EB&D" ... and has reportedly been lobbying the producers for the last couple of years to cast him in the show ... and it finally paid off.  But he must have seriously confused the makeup people on the set ... since he arrived looking, well ...  pretty dang normal.

This is the HBO comedy's 4th and final season. No word on when Manson's episode will air.

But he's ready for his closeup.

Lady Gaga Threatens Legal Action Against "Easy-Access" Gaga Jeans

Lady Gaga has been on the receiving end of several lawsuits in recent months. Butt now, she’s going on the warpath, serving up a legal letter exclusively obtained by RadarOnline.com to a clothing designer who has named his line of “sexitized easy access” jeans “Gagajeans.”

Designer Philip Scott‘s “sexitized easy access jeans” feature a horizontal zipper across the crotch area. “When you see someone real fine-looking wearing them,” he promises on his website, “your mind can only go one place and that is to the zipper.”,

Scott recently filed a trademark request to market the pants as “Gagajeans,” but was quickly slammed by a letter from Lady Gaga’s attorneys on October 1.

Joe Jonas to rehab or creative differences?!!?

Joe Jonas has been rumored to be in LA, and now evidence has surfaced. This pic is said to be before Joe went to the airport to fly to LA with Papa Jonas, hence Marcus, Nick & co. in the picture. Nick is in New York City and Kevin is in New Jersey. This all happened today after the Jonas Brothers announced the cancellation of their tour due to 'There is a deep rift within the band.'

From Celeste: 'Idk who this girl was but she kept hugging joe like she wasn’t ever going to see him again right before joe left with papa j in a different car then nick and kevin' Do YOU think the deep rift in the band is that Joe is headed to rehab?

my friend sent me this, which her friends, who realllly know their jonas shit sent her: Well Jonas knows that randomly havng a bitchfight during a comeback will make them lose fans so i doubt it's that. it might be but i think joe going to rehab has a higher probability. joe, nick, and kevin were all supposed to go to nyc today. now joe is back in la and their first show was in albany, ny. joe was originally scheduled to fly out to nyc like kevin and nick but they apparently switched their flght last night. also, there have been rumours about joe doing drugs and alcohol excessively but everyone has just dismissed them as rumours. they need to make an announcement either way but if he is in rehab, it's more understandable that they might want to take their time with how to word it.

Alan Rickman on Punk, 'Potter,' and the Likelihood of a 'Galaxy Quest' Sequel

In "CBGB," Alan Rickman plays Hilly Kristal, the man who founded the legendary New York City punk bar whose stage helped launch The Ramones, Blondie, and the Talking Heads. The film happens to co-star Rupert Grint (as a member of one of the lesser-known punk bands, The Dead Boys), proof that the "Harry Potter" universe is indeed all-encompassing.

We talked to Rickman about his own relationship to punk (distant), how close he stays to his former Hogswarts charges (fairly close), and just what kind of device he'd need for a "Galaxy Quest" sequel.

What made you want to take on this part?
I thought he was completely fascinating in the sense that he started a club that was supposed to honor country music ["CBGB" stands for "Country, Bluegrass and Blues"], and he never got to play any country music there. Along came punk and he was smart enough and open enough and generous enough to listen to what their point of view was. In fact, he became a kind of father figure to all these wild young things.

What Sensitive Subject Is Left for American Horror Story to Treat With Wonderful Disrespect?

Over American Horror Story’s two invigorating, gruesome seasons, creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have indicated that there is no subject too distasteful for them to tackle. In last year’s installment of the anthology series, American Horror Story: Asylum, the pair took on insanity, nuns, aliens, possession, medical experimentation, religious hypocrisy, homosexual aversion therapy, serial killers, the devil, and abortion. For good measure, they threw in the Holocaust in a bravura two-episode stand featuring an inmate who believed she was Anne Frank. But even this past boldness does not quite prepare one for the opening segment of the new season, titled American Horror Story: Coven. Forget the serpents in the show’s promotional materials; Coven begins with America’s preeminent horror story: slavery.
