Oscar Grant’s Daughter Excited About Release Of ‘Fruitvale Station’

Tatiana Grant was just four years old when her father, Oscar Grant was killed by a police officer at the Fruitvale BART station on New Year’s Day 2009. Now, 4 years later, she’s seeing posters and witnessing the media blitz surrounding the release of the much talked about film “Fruitvale Station”.

During a block party in Oakland’s Dimond District, Tatiana was helping pass out movie posters and cards for the Hollywood film about her father.

In a recent interview with KTVU, Tatiana said she was looking foward to the movie.

“It makes me happy,” said Tatiana. “Because I never had so many posters about my dad.”

Although the movie is being released on July 26th, Tatiana’s family members say she’ll have to wait until she’s older to see it. ”It’s up to her when she becomes a teenager,” said Yolanda Mesa, Grant’s sister-in-law and Tatiana’s aunt.

“We are fortunate our story is being told,” said Mesa. “Because I think it happens to a lot of people nationwide.”

Although “Fruitvale Station” has not been released yet, it’s already received critical acclaim as well as the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It also earned writer and director Ryan Coogler the “Best First Film” award at the Cannes Film Festival.

15 Greatest Madonna's Non-Singles

Madonna's impressive career turns 30 today. Her debut album was released exactly 30 years ago.

Madonna's done it all. And we've pretty much covered it all. So when we sat down to decide the best way to celebrate the anniversary of Madonna's debut album, released 30 years ago, we elected to dig up some of the forgotten or unheralded gems scattered liberally throughout her three-decade-spanning catalogue rather than predictably rank her best albums, singles, or videos—which we've more or less done on various other lists over the years anyway. With the exception of one B-side, one compilation cut, and one remix, all of our picks can be found on a Madonna studio album—a testament to the singer's strength as an album artist, particularly in the '90s. These are songs that, in a more adventurous world, could have been hits, and in some cases where the releases were nixed last minute, almost were, their breadth and depth reflective of an artist unwilling to allow herself to be defined. And just for shits and giggles, we ranked 'em.

15. "Physical Attraction." "Maybe we were meant to be together/Even though we never met before." If that doesn't sum up the relationship between Madonna and her instant fanbase circa her self-titled debut, I don't know what does. "Physical Attraction" finds Madonna, still believably coquettish and naïve at this early point, tellingly offering her permission to take things to the next level. The girl was in the driver's seat from day one, and never slid aside for anyone. Eric Henderson

Rupert Grint confirmed for West End debut in "MOJO", alongside Ben Whishaw.

This is the first major revival of the play which dazzled London when it opened at the Royal Court, prior to a sell-out West End run in 1996.

Mojo, winner of the Olivier award for Best New Comedy, reunites two of British theatre’s great collaborators; writer Jez Butterworth and director Ian Rickson who, as well as the original production of Mojo, gave us the multi award-winning, hit sensation Jerusalem and the critically acclaimed The River. Ian Rickson is also fresh from other successes including Old Times and Betrayal.

Set against the fledgling rock ‘n’ roll scene of 50s Soho, this savagely funny play delves into the sleazy underworld and power games of London’s most infamous district.

Featuring a strong ensemble cast including Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey, The Weir), Rupert Grint (Harry Potter, Driving Lessons), Daniel Mays (Made in Dagenham, Mrs Biggs, The Winterling) and Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, The Hour, Peter and Alice), sign up now to receive Priority Booking information for what promises to be an extraordinary new production of this modern classic.

Redbook's Crazy Cover Reveal: A New Mom Who Hasn't Lost All the Weight-Actual Cover Not Released Yet

This week the Duchess of Cambridge (who I'm just going to call Kate like everyone else does) once again did what was expected of her: She gave the world a royal baby -- and a nice big one, at 8 pounds, 6 ounces. She survived the bump watch, the consternation over her meager weight gain (clearly unwarranted) and the hyperventilating over the birth. Today is her first day at home with George, and it would be great if she could just curl up with him and relax. But whether she realizes it yet or not, she already faces a new public trial: the sprint to skinny. We all know the drill. Pictures will zero in on her stomach to see how long it takes for her to look washboard-flat again. She'll be pitted against Kim Kardashian in a great race to lose the weight. No doubt she'll win, since she's congenitally slim while Kim takes curves to an extreme heretofore unseen in nature. Maybe her body will bounce back immediately without dieting or "abominable crunches," as my 11-year-old calls them. Maybe it won't. But either way, her weight loss will be followed in close up, with plenty of acid-tinged commentary. Unbelievably, it has already started: check out this tasteless cover of OK!

I love her perspective on the whole body after baby issue, and she just finished a movie (looked gorgeous doing it too). I felt the same way after I had both my girls. :)

Irish Prince Talks about Present and Future Film Projects

Irish actor Cillian Murphy has been making many interesting acting choices over the past eleven or twelve years, first getting attention for his role in Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later in 2002 before going on to a series of films of varying sizes and budgets. Most recently, he's become known as Christopher Nolan's go-to guy, appearing in all three "Dark Knight" movies as Dr. Jonathan Crane AKA The Scarecrow as well as playing a key role in Nolan's sci-fi masterpiece, Inception.

Every once in a while, Murphy will appear in a smaller indie and that is the case with Rufus Norris' Broken, a coming-of-age drama starring newcomer Eloise Laurence as "Skunk," a teenage girl growing up in a small British cul-de-sac who sees the goings-on in that world through her own distinctive eyes. In the movie, Murphy plays the girl's school teacher, Mike Kiernan, who experiences a great deal of pain when he loses his long-time girlfriend to Skunk's father (played by Tim Roth), but he still tries to do the right thing to help Skunk only to get caught up in all the troubles being experienced by those around them.

It's a fascinating character study and another great character for the actor, so ComingSoon.net got on the phone with Murphy last week to talk about the movie as well to try to learn more about his fifth collaboration with Christopher Nolan's cinematographer Wally Pfister, who is making his directorial debut with next year's enigmatic Transcendence in which Murphy plays an undisclosed role.

Producer Danja Teases New Britney Song

Last night Danja (the man behind most of Blackout) took to his Instagram to tease, “Bum-chici-chici-bum! Ok I’m done #blackout can occur anyday…stay tuned!”

If this is what’s coming on Britney’s new album, I don’t know if I’ll be able to go on living. This beat is entirely too sick. I cannot WAIT to hear what she’s bringing this album!

More importantly, he said it can happen any day now. Could Britney pull a Fall Out Boy/Jay-Z/Kanye West and just randomly release everything at the last minute? The lack of promo has worked out pretty well for all three.

It kinda sounds like amazing chart topping song (and this producer is working on the new album too!)

Stay tuned for more. [1] [2]

Wasteland Exclusive Clip: Buying A Girl A Drink Has Never Been So Hard

clip can't be embed.

If the movies are indication, Britain is completely crammed with wise-taking criminals, scheming together to rob banks and beat people up and look fantastic doing it. And the latest addition to the wave of British crime films is Wasteland, coming from Oscilloscope Laboratories both on VOD and in theaters in New York and Los Angeles today. You can also watch it online today in any number of places, including iTunes, Amazon, Vudu and Google Play.

In this clip you can see our hero Harvey Miller, played by Luke Treadaway, attempting to make a move on a girl in a club, played by Vanessa Kirby. Turns out the entire scene isn't really what it seems-- she's actually his ex, seeing him for the first time since he went to prison. That's right, this kid may look like your classic awkward goofball in this situation, but Harvey's been recently released from prison, put there by a drug kingpin for a crime he didn't commit. Now that he's out free, Harvey is seeking revenge, and he rounds up three of his friends to rob the drug kingpin and get back at him. As you might guess, though, in classic crime movie fashion, nothing works out quite as planned.

Treadaway, seen as one of the affable stoners in Joe Cornish's wonderful Attack the Block and less memorably in Clash of the Titans, is joined by some other familiar faces in Wasteland, including two Harry Potter alums, character actor legend Timothy Spall (a.k.a. Peter Pettigrew) and Matthew Lewis (a.k.a Neville Longbottom). Watch them shed their wizard's robes and jump into the classic British crime world in Wasteland this weekend. DMX arrested for DUI in South Carolina

Rapper DMX was arrested in South Carolina this morning. Yep, AGAIN! Find out what sent DMX to jail inside...

Someone needs to dial up Iyanla Vanzant ASAP because there's more work to be done! You'll recall that Iyanla confronted rapper DMX about possible drug use during an explosive episode of "Fix My Life", and now it looks like the rapper is still "using".

Earlier this morning (around 3am ET), DMX (dude is going grey and still doing these antics) was pulled over and arrested for allegedly driving under the influence. And he was also charged for driving without a license, this according to Splash News. The ex Ruff Ryder was taken to Greenville County Detention Center and released an hour later, around 4 AM ET.

Unfortunately, this arrest and mugshot puts X clear into the double digits when it comes to arrests and jail time.

In 2009, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" opened to $85.1 million, and as Nikki Finke points out, this was after scathing reviews Tand a copy leaked online that no one liked. With better reviews and the weekend all to itself, though, "The Wolverine" might not hit $60 million. This is not a disaster for 20th Century-Fox (the sixth X-Men film's budget was modest), but you would expect a superhero franchise flick released in the heart of summer to be doing a little better.

Finke points out that when compared to this time last year, this weekend's box office will still be up 28%, but year-to-year this summer's numerous flops are taking a toll. The overall US box office is down 19% from 2012, which was a record year.

To be fair, however, this isn't as "doom-ish" as some make it sound. 2012 was an extraordinary year for Hollywood, and 2013 might just be the box office settling back to normal. According to Box Office Mojo, Hollywood's raked in $5.61 billion thus far. This is ahead of the $5.40 and $5.44 billion Hollywood sat at on this same date in 2011 and 2010, respectively. When you figure in inflation, we are probably looking at a tie.

It should be pointed out, though, that 2011 and 2010 were considered minor disappointments; proof that, at best, ticket sales are flat.

A look at the films yet to be released this summer probably don't give Hollywood much confidence. Other than "Smurfs 2," there is nothing sure-fire -- no "Avengers," "Iron Man," or "Dark Knight."

Hollywood and those who slavishly cover it are coming up with all kinds of excuses for the troubling number of tentpoles flopping this summer: The calendar's too crowded, too many "Die Hard at the White House" films in a single year… The New York Post's Kyle Smith did find one connecting factor to most of these flops -- they were all left-wing message movies.

Another problem, obviously, is the death of the movie star. No one says, "Hey Let's go see that Channing Tatum/JamieFoxx/Ethan Hawke movie."

Why would they?

The Real Stars of Summer's Raciest Music Video

A few stars of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" video haven't received their fair share of the limelight.

The lambs may not have any speaking parts, dance or lip-sync, but they fulfill a very important role in the clip for the hottest song of the summer.

According to Thicke, video director Diane Martel, deserves the casting credit.

"She had it all planned out," Thicke said about Martel during a telephone interview with Yahoo! Music. "She had pictures. She had a mood board of all these types of images she wanted to try that day."

Thicke believes Martel, who has directed more than 100 music videos including Miley Cyrus's "We Can't Stop," Justin Timberlake's "Like I Love You" and Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover," used the lambs to add barnyard pizazz to the video.

"I actually don't know where Diane got that idea from," Thicke said. "It maybe had something to do with the song having a little bit of a country vibe."

Marc Anthony says entertainment industry doesn't owe Latinos anything.

Coming off the heels of the release of his salsa album “3.0,” Marc Anthony brushed off the suggestion that the entertainment industry owes the Latino community improved representation on the heels of television series such as “Devious Maids,” which stars a cast of Latinas as maids to wealthy employers in Beverly Hills, California.

“As far as people being in uproar, they don’t owe us anything,” Anthony said Tuesday in an interview on HuffPost Live in response to a question about the controversy regarding stereotypes on “Devious Maids.” “The industry doesn’t owe us anything, networks don’t owe us anything. ‘Scream’ TV Pilot to be Written by ‘Criminal Minds’ & ‘Revenge’ Producers

What’s your favorite scary… TV show? That’s actually a pretty legitimate question given the range of horror shows that have been on the airwaves in recent years. It might be suggested that the popularity of Twilight and the subsequent popularity of movie monster romance is what triggered the rash of shows like True Blood, Hemlock Grove and American Horror Story to be greenlit for the small screen, but whatever the reason, it’s a good time for horror fans to be turning on their TVs.

MTV first tested the potential of reviving old movies as TV series with Teen Wolf (now in its third season) and then, about a year ago, began developing another such series based on the Scream franchise. The process has been slow, but Scream was ordered to pilot earlier this year and now it seems that the network has begun signing creative talent to bring the idea to life.

The Futon Critic, whilst in attendance at this year’s Teen Choice Awards, passed on a reveal from MTV that Criminal Minds and Revenge producers Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie have been tapped to write the pilot episode of Scream.

The news that the script is finally in the works is definitely a positive development, though it’s something of a shame that Kevin Williamson, the writer of the original movies, apparently isn’t involved – of course, he’s been busy with his own show, The Following, on Fox. It also remains to be seen whether Wes Craven will direct the pilot, or whether someone else will be recruited for the job, and it’s important to remember that the show has not yet been ordered to series.

Beth Chapman Arrest Warrant Issued Over "Coarse Language"

Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife Beth Chapman apparently found herself on the other side of the law after a bizarre incident this week in Colorado.

While fishing with her husband and kids, a teenager in a car sped past. Chapman yelled at the teen, calling her a tramp, a slut and a whore.

Beth then reportedly called 911, alleging that someone who was with the teenage driver was carrying a gun. Police arrived, but the Chapmans had left. However, because it's illegal to taunt someone with "coarse language" in Colorado, the teenager filed a criminal harassment complaint against Chapman.

Police attempted to notify Beth Chapman to pick up the summons, but she reportedly did not show up, at which point they issued an arrest warrant.

Yes, Colorado legalized marijuana, but you can't call someone a tramp.

According to news reports, her lawyer has reportedly been in contact with local authorities to arrange the logistics of Dog's wife turning herself in.

MTV Renews Ke$ha Reality Show, Announces Miley Cyrus Doc

The cable network confirmed a sophomore run for "My Crazy Beautiful Life" at Friday's TCA, also revealing plans for a similar unscripted project about the "We Can't Stop" singer.

Ke$ha will continue to document her Crazy Beautiful Life. MTV announced Friday that it has picked up a second season of the six-part reality series that premiered earlier this year, simultaneously revealing that the cable network has similar plans for Miley Cyrus.

Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life launched in April as a late-night entry for the network, running at 11 p.m. The first season, shot over the course of two years, was filmed by the singer's filmmaker brother, Lagan Sebert.

MTV programming president Susanne Daniels, announcing the news at the Television Critics Association press tour, also cued up a clip of the singer teasing the events of the second season -- which included several enthusiastic screams and the promise of onscreen introductions to her "boyfriends."

Cyrus' entry, on the other hand, will be a feature. The hourlong special will follow Cyrus as she preps her new album and delve into the young singer's transformation from what Daniels described as "Disney princess" to what she is today -- a fashion and pop icon.

The Cyrus vehicle will air in the fall and become the latest doc on MTV's roster, joining previous efforts featuring Drake and Demi Lovato, among others.

Sooo... I'm pretty stoked for this. I mean the Ke$ha part. Good for Miley too ofc.

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Nixing 'K' Name To Avoid 'KKK' Komparison Is Ridiculous

It turns out the name "North" was one that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had been mulling over for a while before bestowing it on their daughter -- but one of the reasons they decided on the name is pretty out there.

In a klip from an upcoming episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," the family kan be heard throwing around potential baby names while on a vacation in Greece earlier this year. When the name North komes up, it's a name the family all say they like.

Kim then revealed that she and Kanye "kind of" want to give their khild a K name since both of their names start with K, but she's worried that it will draw komparisons to the white supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan:

"Our kid, if it's a K, then they'll kall us the KKK," she said.

"That's a little krazy," her half-brother Brody Jenner argued.

Brody Jenner -- the voice of reason. Who knew?

Are we really supposed to believe that Kim was koncerned that the media was going to refer to her family as the KKK? Then again someone in their own kamp once referred to the reality star and her sisters as the Kardashian Klan, so you never know.

surely ppl would call the power of three (Kim, Khloe & Kourtney) KKK tho but w.e

This Never-Was thinks he can pull off a Macklemore.

Jesse McCartney—actor, singer, performer—is going on tour this summer with DJ Pauly D and Backstreet Boys, as BSB celebrate 20 years in the industry. The tour kicks off in Chicago on August 2nd and makes several stops throughout the United States. Lucky for us, there are two Canadian dates before the tour wraps up on September 8th in San Fransisco.

Faze had the pleasure of asking Jesse some questions about his upcoming tour and the release of his latest album.

What thoughts were running through your mind when you found out that you’d be touring with Backstreet Boys?
I thought about my first overseas tour when Backstreet Boys took me with them to the UK. They were all very cool to me…big brotherly. I’m really glad to be back with them and looking forward to travelling with them and DJ Pauly D. I think we’re all going to have a great time!

What should fans be most excited about for the upcoming shows?
They're going to hear some new songs. I’m very excited to see their reaction. I’ll also be playing plenty of the fan favourites—the hits. Audiences are always actively listening during the new songs, but they tune-out if there are too many. When I tour, I try to make my set lists include more songs that the fans know and love, and give them enough of a taste of the new stuff, so that they want to hear more.

What’s next for you once the tour is over?
I’m going to get to work setting up the release of an independent album on my own label. I turned down major label offers because guys like Macklemore & Lewis, the Lumineers, Calvin Harris and many other established artists, like Backstreet Boys, are doing it on their own and topping the charts. It’s proven that no one has to be in the major label system anymore to succeed. It’s totally empowering!

It was recently announced that you will be releasing a new album this year. How will this album different from the others?
The beauty of being independent is that there’s no committee in the background editing what they want to release of mine. I get to choose. So this album will be more personal than anything I’ve done to date. I’ve also really gotten into a retro R &B thing that’s influenced by Michael Jackson, Motown and 80’s dance music mixed with contemporary melodies. There’s a timeless sound to it.

Is Kanye West an Angry Black Man?

With the country’s divisiveness as of late, one thing we all can agree on is that Kanye West is a bit much. Even President Barack Obama agrees.

Once again, the controversial Chicagoan has made headlines for tussling with a paparazzo for his camera outside the LAX airport, because the pap broke Kanye’s golden rule: do not talk to him...ever! Now, ‘Ye may be facing felony charges for attempted robbery. On the surface, this is a classic case of someone trying to get a little cash for his troubles (it’s reported the cameraman also suffered injuries), but from another vantage point, Kanye’s scuffle, along with his other countless antics over the years, speaks to a larger issue.

Black men are under attack in America (and have been since, well, we arrived here).

As illustrated by the country’s division over the murder of Trayvon Martin, men of color remain a much feared species. With that fear comes the burden of Black men having to always disprove the misguided idea that they’re a natural menace to society—a myth perpetuated by the news media and arguably glorified by hip-hop culture at times. The burden of that can be too much for some of us to bear, particularly when you consider the stereotypes and systematic trap holes designed to ensure our struggle. Black men are expected to fail long before their first stumble. This country’s social infrastructure was set up that way. It’s as if we have a target on our backs from the moment we emerge from the womb.

Then there’s Kanye West. A multi-millionaire and musical genius, who often finds himself representing just what many White Americans want him to be: the Angry Black Man.

Kylie Minogue ‘plans to shock people’

Kylie Minogue is reportedly planning to blow her fans’ minds with the new material she’s creating at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label.

The 45-year-old Australian pop icon was recently signed to hip-hop mogul Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label.

She is reportedly planning an explosive set of performances to accompany the release of her 12th studio album.

The string of shows are said to be having fans and concert promoters bubbling over with anticipation.

“Touring and interacting with fans remains Kylie’s first love, and promoters are lining up to be involved with next year’s gigs,” a source told British newspaper The Mirror.

“As well as dates across the UK and Europe, Kylie will also play her native Australia. At the moment, there are no concerts in America being lined up.”

Her elaborate string of mind-blowing shows will apparently receive maximum funding.

Kylie is also supposedly planning to don a “fabulous shock wardrobe”.

“She has already had loads of ideas and this will be a no-expense-spared tour with lots of pyrotechnics, dancers, special effects and a few surprises – including her wardrobe. Kylie definitely plans to shock people.”

The follow-up to Kylie’s 2010 album Aphrodite is set to be sensational.

Apparently the singer is putting her all into creating an innovative sound her devoted listeners have never heard from her before.

“Kylie has been working on some great material and is really happy with the new musical direction her stuff is taking,” the source said.

“It is still distinctly Kylie but with a fresh, more electro-urban twist.”

The first hour of Lightning Returns is very detailed in the video provided below, so at the top of this post, directly underneath the cut, lies spoilers - I will not bold parts of the article for this section. Going further down the post, we get a mention of Vanille's role in LR, Hope being 14 again, talk on Lightning's boob job, and a sneak peak (pics - quite image heavy, but still respects the maximum 600 x 600 rule) on outfit customization and Lightning in Yuna's outfit which is stupid.

'Lost' Reunion? The Cast Might Reunite For Show's 10-Year Anniversary

It's been nearly nine years since we were first introduced to the survivors of Oceanic flight 815, and J. J. Abrams and TV masterminds alike have been trying to recreate the phenomenon that was "Lost" ever since.

Michael Emerson, who played Ben Linus on the hit ABC series, has been a part of that effort. The actor currently stars on the Abrams-produced "Person of Interest" on CBS, and while promoting the show at Comic-Con in San Diego, he told Zap2It's Terri Schwartz that fans might see the "Lost" cast reunite at the convention next year in honor of the show's 10-year anniversary.

Selling already? Olivier Sarkozy and Mary-Kate Olsen put their home on the market

Olivier Sarkozy and Mary-Kate Olsen are selling their New York lovenest, less than a year after buying it.

The 19th century brownstone in Manhattan's East Village was purchased by Mr Sarkozy, the half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, for $6.25million in August 2012.

Now it is on the market once again - at a mark-up - for $6,995,000. The new price is thought to reflect renovations made by the couple before moving in.

Would You Have A Baby In Your 40s? Actress Kim Fields Announces She’s Pregnant

Not a week goes by that someone doesn’t ask me if I want to have another kid. Although I’m 33, and have a beautiful 7-year-old son, folks never quite cease to ask if I’d like to add to my brood.

At the moment, the answer is solidly no. And while I used rule it out all together, citing my age as the main reason, I’m not so sure anymore.

Recently Kim Fields (of Living Single and Facts of Life fame) announced she was pregnant her second child. The 44-year-old actress said she and her husband tried to conceive for a couple of years (they have a six-year-old son), before finding out that she was pregnant.

Fields’ story is not quite unique, but it further highlights a growing trend of women waiting longer to have children.

But should we?

Lindsay Lohan: Eurotrip Post Rehab

Lindsay Lohan has booked a one-way ticket to Europe ... set to depart as soon as she finishes rehab ... because everyone knows an overseas vacation is the best way to keep your nose clean.

Sources close to LiLo tell TMZ ... after her 90-day-court-ordered rehab finishes up she'll head to London for some R&R ... as the first stop on a European adventure.

We're told a gal pal of LiLo offered to take her as a gift for a "job well done in rehab". And since LiLo has some time before her OWN docu-series begins filming she jumped at the opportunity.

Our sources say she booked a one-way ticket and has no return date set (yet), but hopefully it's before she's scheduled to film.

Lindsay believes the trip will give her some privacy during her post-rehab days.

sounds like a good plan imo. what could possibly go wrong?

Breaking Bad new teaser Ozymandias

Ozymandias is a sonnet written by Percy Bysshe Shelley.

The central theme of "Ozymandias" is the inevitable decline of all leaders and of the empires they build, however mighty in their own time.

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desart. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

The cinematography is gorgeous as usual. I can't wait for the new episodes !

Robin Thicke vs Justin Seacrest: Whos the real legend of summer?

"Justin is a global superstar and outside of the aesthetic and the tone of their voices, that's where the comparison [with Robin Thicke] begins and also where it stops," said Vibe editor in chief Jermaine Hall of Timberlake, who's vying for a leading six Moonmen at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

"But when you speak to them, a lot of the acts they idolized growing up [are similar], very traditional R&B singers," Hall continued. "If you look at what Justin is able to do as a complete artist, he has a lot more factors going for him than Robin Thicke."

Neither artist has every really copped to feeling a rivalry and Hall said there's no reason why they can't co-exist and not cancel each other out. "There's enough room for both of them to be successful ... which is what you're seeing right now," he said.

There may be room for both, but only one man can be the King of Summer. So who'll take the crown? MTV News runs down the stats:

Amanda Bynes’ Parents Say She’s Homeless And Paranoid, Blew $1.2 Million

Amanda Bynes is extremely paranoid, has been using drugs, and has spent more than $1.2 million in a “very short amount of time,” her parents said Friday in a California court filing.

Rick and Lynn Bynes, who are seeking a conservatorship over Amanda, described their daughter as “appearing to have a substance abuse problem” and being “extremely paranoid about being watched, including at our residence.”

According to the court papers, “she would cover smoke alarms with towels, tape windows shut and cover her car dashboard with cardboard and tape out of fear that cameras were watching her from inside these places.”

Bynes was involuntarily hospitalized earlier this week after authorities said she ignited a small blaze on a driveway in her hometown of Thousand Oaks, Calif., on Monday night. Her pants and dog may also have caught fire in the incident. She is currently under a two-week psychiatric hold at a hospital.

Bynes’ parents said they learned their daughter had returned to California from her New York City apartment two days before the incident when she told them she had “cabbed it.” They are unsure where she had been staying in the meantime. “We believe she is essentially homeless,” the filing stated.

Bynes had approximately $4 million in savings, her parents said, but had withdrawn $100,000 in cash in both June and July. The filing also shed light on some of the actress’ more disturbing recent behavior seen on Twitter.

“Amanda has profound issues with her body image and is obsessed with the idea that she (and others) are ‘ugly,’ her parents said. “She talks incessantly about cosmetic surgeries that she wants to have completed. We are concerned that the surgeries she wants to have are dangerous and detrimental to her health.”

The judge has scheduled a hearing on the issue for Aug. 9 and hopes to meet one-on-one with Bynes before making a decision.

I hadn't heard about her covering up smoke alarms and shit, damn :\

Anthony Weiner taken to school by retired teacher

This video is super awkward ... Anthony Weiner was put on BLAST Friday by an ex-school teacher for his raunchy, sexting ways ... and it all happened while cameras rolled. Weiner was visiting homes damaged by Superstorm Sandy, when he walked into a s**t storm himself ... in the form of Peg Brunda a retired teacher, who went off on him.

You gotta watch the heated exchange -- but to give you an idea just how PISSED Brunda is that Weiner refuses to drop out of the NYC mayoral race, she says, "Had I conducted myself in the manner in which you conducted yourself, my job would have been gone."

Then adds, "I don’t quite understand how you would feel you would have the moral authority as the head administrator in this city to oversee employees when your standard of conduct is so much lower than the standard of conduct that’s expected of us."

Weiner tries to fire back ... but Peg doesn't back down. Check it out.

Ariana Grande Will Be What Christina Aguilera Was Supposed To Be

Ever since I became aware of what an Ariana Grande was, I’ve been enamored. I love her new single “The Way” with Mac Miller.

Musically, the song gives me teases of white Ashanti and Ja Rule from a voice that probably makes Mariah Carey want to nest on the blood of a youth ala The Snow Queen from Snow White and the Huntsmen.

Ariana might not match the might of Mariah Carey’s voice before the cigarettes and chardonnay did their damage, but she definitely has the kind of chops that make you take notice

Report: Nicki Minaj Files Restraining Order on DJ Khaled

As if this story couldn’t get any more bizarre, just one day after DJ Khaled embarrassed himself by broadcasting a wedding proposal to Nicki Minaj, the Young Money super star has responded by reportedly filing a restraining order in the state of New York, where she resides. According to Reports, this isn’t the first time Khaled has professed his infatuation with Nicki, the DJ has allegedly sent Nicki flowers in the past, as well as random packages, and constantly shows up to her concerts all across the country, according to the report.

But with all the random stuff that comes from YMCMB, we wouldn’t be surprised if this was some sort of publicity stunt from both sides.

Nicki has yet to come out to respond to the awkward video or restraining order publicly.

Tony Goldwyn talks Politics + Does Clinton Watch Scandal?

Though he plays a Republican president on “Scandal,” actor Tony Goldwyn actually studied two Democrats for the part.

His inspirations?

“The two people that I spent the most time studying were [Barack] Obama and [Bill] Clinton,” Goldwyn told POLITICO. “They have qualities in their personalities that Fitz would have: mainly a kind of accessibility, a down-to-earth quality and a higher mission to connect with people.”

Of course, there’s another obvious link: On “Scandal,” Goldwyn’s character, President Fitzgerald Grant, cheats on the first lady with a White House staffer. (Monica Lewinsky ring a bell?) Still, oddly enough, Clinton reportedly watches the show.

“I’ve heard this,” Goldwyn said. “I don’t know for a fact … but I did hear it through the grapevine.”

John Rzeznik Is Married!

For Goo Goo Dolls front man John Rzeznik planning his wedding day was a piece of cake. The rocker married longtime girlfriend, Melina Gallo, Friday night at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.

"We've been together a while and I'm not going anywhere and we'd like to start a family. I'd prefer to be married when I have kids," Rzeznik, 48, told PEOPLE.

Episcopal priest and longtime friend Rev. Michael Ralph married the couple under an old oak tree in front of about 120 guests, which included Rzeznik's bandmates. "The whole thing was just about family and friends. It was really beautiful and romantic," said Rzeznik.

Guests noshed on appetizers during cocktail hour and ate roasted chicken, garlic mash potatoes and wild mushroom ravioli for the main course. Gallo looked stunning in an Enzoani gown and Rzeznik opted for a dark green Gucci suit instead of a tuxedo.

Rzeznik, who is currently on tour promoting the Dolls' tenth album, Magnetic, did not sing at the wedding. "We made it perfectly clear that I would not be singing at all at our wedding. Our song was Adele's 'Make You Feel My Love.' I love her version of that song," he said.

The couple are planning a honeymoon in Italy and France after Rzeznik is done touring in the fall. As for how many kids the couple plans to have, Rzeznik said, "We'll start with one and deal with it from there."

This is the second marriage for Rzeznik, who divorced his first wife in 1997 after four years. He started dating Gallo in 2005.

This year's Comic-Con lasted several days, but it's a scant two minutes that has had everyone talking since. Below, we've gathered all the hard news we can on the film — much of it straight from Whedon himself — as well as the hints and speculation that have got us guessing. You've got almost two years to wait until we get Age of Ultron, so it's time to start studying up.

Ariana Grande's boyfriend returns to Twitter after angry rant

Ariana Grande’s boyfriend Jai Brooks just returned to Twitter yesterday after taking a break since July 23, 2013. Jai took a break from the social networking site because of all of the hate he was getting.

Before Jai took his break he Tweeted the following explanation:

Thanks everyone for giving me so much hate on everything I do. Not anything I do is good enough for you and you hate on me for every little single thing I do and put me under so much pressure, I am starting to feel like I can’t live my own life without having to try and please you. I’ve been reading your hate for a while now and I’m sorry to say this you make me feel like absolutely sh** and just can’t be bothered with it, I’m sorry you all hate me so much and I’m sorry I’ve done something so wrong to you all but I really can’t take it any more, I’m tired of reading all his hate so I’m going to stay off twitter for a while. I’m sorry to the fans who are always so kind to me but I really want to just stay off for a while. Thank you.

We’re glad Jai is back on Twitter, and we hope he starts getting more positive comments from fans!

Puberty's Greatest Masterpiece, Matthew Lewis, Talks New Movie + The New English Verb, "Longbottom"

America’s last taste of Matthew Lewis was as Neville Longbottom, the beloved, bumbling Gryffindor of the Harry Potter world. But in his new movie Wasteland, in limited release today, he pulls a Daniel Radcliffe — code for "taking on a role vastly different than the one you're known for" — as Dobb, a somewhat brutish Yorkshire lad who helps his friend get back at an evil drug lord. Their elaborate scheme involves bows, arrows, and safe cracking. We spoke to Lewis about the project, bonding with his new castmates, and Longbottom, the verb.

Johnny Depp hints at quitting acting

Johnny Depp has revealed that he is "not too far away" from quitting acting.

In an interview to be aired on BBC Breakfast on Monday, the 50-year-old actor told Susanna Reid that he feels overworked.

"When you add up the amount of dialog you say per year and you realize you've said written words more than you've had a chance to say your own words, that becomes an insane option for a human being," Depp said.

"Are there quieter things I wouldn't mind doing? Yes, I wouldn't mind that. I wouldn't say I am dropping out any second but I would say it's not too far away."

Asked if he would retire before the rumored Alice In Wonderland 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean 5, he added: "No, I think we're alright in those categories."

Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Carson Daly are on hand at TCA to discuss the new season of "The Voice."

New strategies, since Blake's won three times?

Christina: I understand that I'm coming back to the Blake Shelton Show ... We laugh all day. It's always fun to press our buttons, see the person, get 'em on our team ... We want them to win, but we can all agree it's the contestants that do win at the end of the day. Blake keeps it funny with his trophies.

How has teaching affected you as artists?

Christina: I went in holding hands with these guys and didn't know what to expect. Mark Burnett reached out to all of us and I don't think a show like this was even on our radar. We all as artists know what it's like to be up there, the make it or break it hotseat... I caught an episode of last season and I thought 'I can see why people like this!' We get very caught up, sitting in the chair, but seeing it from the outside and hearing some of the stories, it's nice to see the part of the show that's stayed true to the talent and made sure that their stories are heard ... It's just an amazing school. I had great training on "Mickey Mouse Club." I think it's affected me more on a personal level than on a professional level ... I've been able to remember the journey of where I started out.

Kristen Wigg & The Strokes' Fabrizio Moretti SPLIT

The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti has separated from his actress and comedian girlfriend, Kristen Wiig.
The pair had been dating since 2011 and their relationship was made public after they were spotted at a show by The Black Keys in New York. News of the break-up was revealed by US Weekly. Of the split, a source commented: "It was very amicable and they will remain friends." Wiig co-wrote and starred in the 2011 hit movie Bridesmaids and was a former member of the cast of Saturday Night Live.
The Strokes released their latest album 'Comedown Machine' in March of this year. The band's bassist Nikolai Fraiture revealed that they have no plans to tour the LP. Speaking to Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, Fraiture said the album was recorded at Electric Lady in New York. "We hashed it out all together like the good old days. It's a legendary studio and it is not far away from us all, apart from Nick who lives in Los Angeles, but he made the trip out to record," he commented.
When asked about the possibility of live shows Fraiture sounded cagey and would reply: "I don't know. I would love to tour," but admitted there were no dates scheduled.
