Mariah Carey reportedly leaving label over 'lack of promotion', album delay

Mariah Carey’s latest album may be her last with Island Def Jam after delays and a lack of promotion and support plagued the project, sources tell Page Six.

Carey, who last night performed with the New York Philharmonic at the MLB All-Star Charity Concert in Central Park benefiting Hurricane Sandy relief, was due to release her latest album, “The Art of Letting Go,” this month. But she announced in late June that she was delaying its release. “I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don’t feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23,” she wrote on Twitter.

Music insiders tell us the album’s first single, #Beautiful,” was not heavily promoted by IDJ, and Carey was disappointed by the label’s efforts. Later, IDJ released remixes of “#Beautiful,” including a “Spanglish” version called “#Hermosa” and one with Young Jeezy, to attract spins.

Amanda Bynes modeling herself after Paris Hilton, claims she feels like a cancer patient

Amanda Bynes recently adopted a puppy and it wasn’t by chance — RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned the troubled actress idolized Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton so much, that she wanted to get a puppy and tote it around like Paris famously used to do.

“Amanda is fascinated by the world of paparazzi. She thought Paris was so glamourous when the paps when follow her around all the time,” the insider revealed.

“She talks about Paris and Kim a lot because she completely idolizes them. It’s the weirdest thing. So when she got that puppy she said it was to try and be more like Paris.”

According to the insider, Amanda can’t stop feeding off all the attention she’s been getting from the media and paparazzi.

Mariah slays at charity concert, brings audience to tears; STILL manages wardrobe change w/ sling

NEW YORK -- A diva may be measured not just by how she acts under duress, but how she dresses.

Mariah Carey, who last Sunday injured her shoulder while shooting a music video, turned up Saturday night at Central Park's Great Lawn in a dazzling, form-fitting white gown by Natalia Danilova -- and matching sling. Carey had only recently left the hospital, but she was set to perform as a guest of the New York Philharmonic at the Major League Baseball All-Star Charity Concert, benefiting relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy.

Justin Bieber needs a role model like Britney Spears

Where is Britney Spears now that Justin Bieber needs her?

comeback-britney-spears She is probably working on a new hit record or, being a single mom, tending to her sons, Sean, 7, and Jayden, 6. Still, it would be good if the pop princess could spare some time to counsel Mr. Bieber on etiquette and public decorum. It wasn’t that long ago that the Biebs, as he’s affectionately known to his fans, seemed to be handling the burden of teen-pop stardom with considerable grace. Today, not so. The past year has witnessed one episode of boorish behaviour after another by the Canadian-born performer, much of it captured on video, including recently released footage of Mr. Bieber apparently relieving himself in some poor janitor’s bucket in a Manhattan nightclub and squirting cleaning fluid on a portrait of former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

300-JustinBieberTat-Instagram-013013-jpg_211422 None of Mr. Bieber’s antics to date have been totally over the top, especially for a 19-year-old with too much money, too much fame and a posse of pals calling themselves the Wild Kidz. More often than not, he’s been apologetic, as he was on Thursday to Mr. Clinton. Nevertheless, the accumulation of incidents is worrying. Hence the suggestion that Ms. Spears intervene, politely, of course, in his affairs. Who would be a better role model?

While Ms. Spears, at 31, is now a paragon of poise and responsibility, it wasn’t always thus. There were a few years – roughly 2004 to 2008 – when the singer seemed to be careering to her doom in full public glare. So distressed was Rolling Stone magazine that it ran an 8,000-word cover story titled “Britney Spears: Inside a National Tragedy.”

Lady Gaga's ARTPOP: can it revive the album-as-app concept?

Lady Gaga has announced the official pre-order and release dates for ARTPOP, her new album, and also the app through which it will be delivered to smartphones and tablets.

Both album and app will be pre-orderable from 1 September, according to a post on Gaga's Facebook page, before their official release date of 11 November.

"Built by TechHAUS, the technological branch of HAUS OF GAGA, the app itself is a musical and visual engineering system that combines art, fashion, and technology with a new interactive worldwide community – 'the auras'," explains the post, which doesn't skimp on grand claims (or capital letters).

"Altering the human experience with social media, we bring ARTculture into POP in a reverse Warholian expedition.

Exploring Gaga's existence as a cultural interface, the user will share in the 'adrenaline of fame; as they build and share their own projects, chat with one another, and watch in real-time on a virtual globe as ARTPOP explodes onto the physical and virtual universe at once on November 11, our 'BIG BANG!' On this day, HAUS OF GAGA venges with forte to bring the music industry into a new age: an age where art drives pop, and the artist once again is in control of the 'icon'."

In relation to the APP, Billboard director Bill Werde confirms that the app sales might count as album sales for Artpop.

New out singer/songwriter Eli Lieb premieres video for "Young Love"

Out Magazine talks to the singer-songwriter about his latest video—which also features classic summer Americana—and why it's more of a positive message than Steve Grand's 'All-American Boy'

Out: Young love is an eternal story/message: What do you think the message of "Young Love" is for young gay men?

Eli Lieb: Love is love. I'm just celebrating love and life and to me that transcends, race, gender, sexuality, and any other distinguishing factors. Being gay isn't a gimmick or an issue for me, it's just me. In my music, my persona and this video, I want to represent myself authentically. And I believe everybody should express love how they know it and not be afraid of showing the whole world, including friends and family, how they feel. It was important to me to also show my friends, and represent other people in love (the girl and boy kissing, etc.), to say, "It's just love, let's celebrate it!" I don't feel any shame, and I don't feel self-righteous, I just am who I am, and I'm not afraid of it. On the positive side, I'm happy that being who I am might help others, to see a love like mine represented. Watching this video really makes me feel how I feel when in love. Not specifically gay love, or specifically straight love, just LOVE. And I wanted to show how lucky I am to have love between friends who can accept each other 100% for who they are.

It's Another "2013... So Far!" List, ONTD. Here are the 10 Best Movie Trailers for 2013... SO FAR!

Good marketing is vital for a movie to get its name out there, and good marketing means having a good trailer. Good trailers don’t necessarily imply good movies; how often do wee see trailers that were more entertaining than the movie itself?

A lot of this summer’s movies have been a bust, but their trailers sure do a good job at bringing us in to see them. Of all the trailers that a single movie may have — red band, green band, teaser, theatrical, international, on and on — and of all the movies that have been announced, we have chosen the ten trailers that we consider the best of all released so far in 2013.

Whether the movie itself is amongst the best or the busts is something we’ll leave to your opinion (though there is some hearsay thrown in for good measure).

10 Actors Whose Careers Went Downhill After They Won Oscars

Winning an Oscar, for any actor, usually marks the single greatest moment in their careers. Having an Oscar under your belt is, after all, confirmation of years of hard work and dedication, the highest honour that your peers can gift upon you to show their admiration and respect, and the best possible guarantee that, hey, you’re pretty good at acting, after all. Put simply, it’s the most esteemed acting award available and winning one should – in theory – open up all kinds of possibilities, ventures, and the promise of more great movie roles.

And whereas all that does happen to the majority of actors who find Oscar glory, sometimes winning the most prestigious acting award around can be something of a curse. That’s to say, lots of actors have found themselves to be the toast of the movie scene one minute, only to try to merge with the industry afterwards to find that Hollywood doesn’t really know what to do with them. Sometimes, of course, a couple of naff post-Oscar movie roles will prove fatal: you won’t believe how quickly Hollywood can kill your career if you screw up, Academy Award or not.

So here’s 10 actors whose careers took a sudden nosedive the moment they became Oscar-winners. Although their wins seemed to promise great things, they actually seemed to have had quite the opposite effect entirely…

8 Great Directors Who Have Made More Bad Movies Than Good

There are certain movies directors whose names alone are enough to warrant cries of critical acclaim from the cinematic community. Steven Spielberg! Martin Scorsese! Stanley Kubrick! These are names that act as buzzwords for unabashed quality – when you hear them, you can’t help but think about their consistent outputs, and all the fantastic movies that they’ve given us over the years. But as fans of these directors, we have a tendency to conveniently forget about their mis-fires. All the bad and mediocre flicks get swept under the carpet, so to speak.

So although there are directors out there who we constantly praise for their abilities to give us great and memorable flicks time and time again, can a director really be that great if they’ve actually made more bad movies than good ones? Of course they can, but it really does put things into perspective when you trawl through an acclaimed great director’s filmography and begin to realise that, hey, they’ve helmed a shocking number of bad eggs in their time – so many, in fact, that you might start to question their legitimacy as “great” filmmakers.

So here’s 8 incredibly famous, critically-acclaimed, world-renowned directors who – admist the flurry of respect for their great works – we’ve all somehow overlooked the fact that they’ve actually made more bad movies than good ones…

Note: I’ve only included good movies and bad movies in order to weigh the directors included here. Average or okay movies haven’t been considered, ’cause everyone makes an “alright” movie from time to time, right?

Tyson Gay tests positive for banned substance

The Associated Press
Published Sunday, July 14, 2013 10:56AM EDT
Last Updated Sunday, July 14, 2013 1:30PM EDT

American 100-meter record holder Tyson Gay, who had promoted himself as a clean athlete, tested positive for a banned substance and said he will pull out of the world championships next month in Moscow.

Gay wouldn't reveal the substance in a phone conversation from Amsterdam on Sunday, but he said he was notified by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency late last week that a sample came back positive from a May 16 out-of-competition test. He said he will have his "B" sample tested soon, possibly as early as this week.

"I don't have a sabotage story. I don't have any lies. I don't have anything to say to make this seem like it was a mistake or it was on USADA's hands, someone playing games," said Gay, who fought back sobs as he spoke. "I don't have any of those stories. I basically put my trust in someone and I was let down."

Asked who that person was, Gay replied: "I can't really say it. Sometimes a human being naturally, generally trusts somebody. That's what people do."

Kanye West's A.P.C. Collaboration Is Now Available Online

The wait is finally over. Kanye West's collaboration with A.P.C. just hit the Internet. It hit the retailer's French site last night, and it's a lot larger than we initially expected. While we've seen him walk around in the light-washed jeans and a short-sleeved hoodie, there are plenty of pieces in the whole collection we haven't seen yet.

In addition to the heather grey short-sleeved hoodie, there are two long sleeve hoodies in a marine and dark navy color. Both feature the same side-slits as the short sleeve version. The jeans come in a raw wash we haven't seen before either, and they're selvedge. As expected, a plain white T-shirt finds its way into the collection, along with a simpler navy version. The most surprising piece has to be the the "Trippy Symphony" T-shirt, a white tee with a Been Trill graphic adorning the front and back.

Price-wise, jeans are around $235, while the hoodies go for $225 for the short sleeve to $250 for the long sleeved versions. T-shirts are selling for around $100, while the Been Trill "Trippy Symphony" tee is more around $125.

So yes, the prices are "up there" but they're not as expensive as say...Givenchy. The collection hits A.P.C. stores and the U.S. website at 10 a.m. today. We'll be taking a closer look at the collection, but if you hope to get your hands one one of the pieces, you better get your mouses ready.

The Badass Interview: Guillermo del Toro Gets Spoilery On PACIFIC RIM

Find out the three different endings GdT shot for PACIFIC RIM! Also about ROLLING THUNDER, believe it or not.

I talked to Guillermo one last time about the movie at the San Francisco press junket. I had been talking to him about the movie for a long, long time - in private, on the record, on the set. on the sets of other movies he was producing. Pacific Rim had been boiling up for years, and now it was finally being unleashed. I had seen it twice when we did this interview, and the second viewing really crystallized the movie for me. I sat down with him very excited about the movie, and very ready to get talking about it. Then he noticed I was wearing a Rolling Thunder t-shirt, and we started talking about that instead. The next sentence is Guillermo:

[Rolling Thunder producer] Larry Gordon told me a story about when they were doing this movie and William Devane met Tommy Lee Jones, and he said to Larry Gordon, ‘Fuck! This guy! This guy IS what I’m trying to play! He’s a real hardass.’

Every time I’ve shown a woman this movie they walk out and say ‘I had no idea Tommy Lee Jones was so hot.’

I always fantasize about Tommy Lee Jones playing the part Wililam Devane got. Larry Gordon said the first time they showed the movie the audience almost lynched them. The first time they tested the movie the audience went upstairs and broke down the door at the projectionist’s booth and ordered him to stop projecting.

Was that the end of the movie?

When they put the hand in the garbage disposal. One of the guys complaining said, ‘Yesterday we saw the greatest movie ever made, Star Wars, and now we’ve seen the worst!’ Rolling Thunder is so great.

Speaking of Star Wars that is the touchstone movie for me with Pacific Rim. They’re both big, world-building movies, they’re both about the feeling of awe you get as a moviegoer. I’ve seen Pacific Rim twice and the second time around I kept thinking ‘That would be a great 3 inch Hasbro figure.’ When Raleigh is working on the wall and he has that backpack - that’s such a perfect design for an action figure.

With unspooling action!

Justin Timberlake could face legal action from anti-sexual violence group over single title

Justin Timberlake could face legal action from anti-sexual violence charity Take Back The Night over the title of his new single.

The singer began streaming his track 'Take Back The Night' on Friday (July 12). It's the first song to be taken from his upcoming album 'The 20/20 Experience - Part 2'.

However, the executive director of the Take Back The Night group, which has been in operation as a charitable foundation since 1999, has now claimed that Timberlake failed to ask permission to use their name.

"Everyone at Take Back The Night is really shocked, because normally we get asked when people want to use the name," Katherine Koestner told Radar Online. "Normally entities as large as Justin Timberlake do very kind and thoughtful things to support our cause."

Continuing, Koestner said her organisation has "big concerns" over Timberlake's use of the phrase "Take Back The Night" and took issue with the song's lyrics. "The lyrics are definitely very sexual and not at all clearly anti-sexual violence. 'Use me', for example, is not a great phrase for anyone affiliated with the organisation."

Koestner also revealed that her organisation is now in communication with Timberlake and his team. "We tried to contact him through his website and got no answer. Then we sent him a letter Friday (July 12) from our legal counsel saying 'You used our name without our permission'."

"They got back to us and said they're sorry," Koestner continued. "His agent said 'Justin's a good guy! He's a family man!' They claimed he'd never heard of us before he wrote that song. I don't know what country he's been in. I suppose it could have slipped off his radar screen somehow. Somebody working for him definitely messed up."

Although Koestner went on to criticise Timberlake for failing to "take the necessary steps to make sure that it was appropriate," she also made clear that the Take Back The Night foundation is keen to reach an agreement with the singer. "This whole thing with Justin is just really unfortunate and we're hoping it can be amicably resolved," she added.

Timberlake played 'Take Back The Night' during his headline set at London's Wireless Festival on Friday night (July 12). He'll return tonight (July 14) to headline the third and final night of the festival alongside Jay-Z as part of their 'Legends Of The Summer' world tour.

"There's some rumors going around that [Sony] could possibly be going out to Holland Roden," for a role in "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise. "Arrow's" Roy Harper was responding to a question about the "Teen Wolf" actress possibly playing Mary Jane Watson. Brit rock star fears secret love child will break up his marriage

A married British rock star is facing demands from a the mother of a US love child that he has tried to keep secret.

The mother demanded £2million and child support but friends say that he refused the request. The singer cannot be named for legal reasons and is thought to be desperate to keep the news a secret.

The star fathered the little girl after a one night stand that he has described as a mistake. One friend told The Sun: ‘He has a duty not just morally but in law. The mother is holding all the cards and if he doesn’t accept his responsibility she has said she will call his wife.’

The woman is said be completely certain that he is the father as there is no possibility that she is anyone else’s daughter. She has said that she is prepared to tell his wife if he refuses to acknowledge his daughter. The star is willing to negotiate with the mother to keep his wife in the dark

The Sun describes the singer as part of an internationally successful rock band that has had a string of hits played on the radio. Instantly recognisable, he is known as a responsible husband and father.

The child’s mother is a successful freelance writer in her 30s, and has refused to speak out before the matter is resolved. She is considering DNA testing, and yesterday a mobile DNA testing van was parked outside her new York City home.

A friend told The Sun: ‘He knows his wife will go ballistic and throw him out. He’ll be picking his clothes up off the street.’ Neighbours say the woman adores her little girl, but always stays silent on the subject of her father.

After a brief meeting in New York last year, she fell pregnant and contacted the father. But he refused to acknowledge his daughter and hired lawyers.
Her friend said: She knows she will be entitled to a big sum. She was successful before they met, but now she’s set for life.’

The singer’s agent refused to comment.

James Cameron is SRS BZNS about Science & making his sci-fi dreams come true

“When you have the feeling that anything’s possible, sometimes you wind up acting on it,” said James Cameron in a wide-reaching interview with me a few weeks ago. We talked about childhood ambitions, his journey to the bottom of the ocean, how he applied his skill-set as a director to leading a world-class expedition and scientific team, where we still need more research on the effects of climate change, leadership lessons on guiding teams into the unknown, and much more.

On March 26, 2012, Cameron became the only individual in history to reach the Challenger Deep in a single-pilot vehicle, and the first person since 1960 to descend to the deepest place on the planet in a manned submersible. Achieving a depth of 35,787 feet in the Mariana Trench, Cameron’s dive was part of the DEEPSEA CHALLENGE expedition, which was funded in part by Rolex and National Geographic and will also be the subject of a 3-D feature film releasing later this year, was the first scientific exploration of the Challenger Deep. Cameron documented the expedition in stunning 3D while piloting the uniquely-designed DEEPSEA CHALLENGER submersible, which he spent seven years co-designing and building.

Seeking to combine his two great passions—diving and filmmaking—Cameron, who is also an Explorer-in-Residence at National Geographic, has directed numerous feature films and documentaries that have broken new ground in underwater cinematography, beginning with The Abyss in 1989. In 1995, he made 12 manned-submersible dives to the Titanic wreck for his feature film of the same name, which won 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, and broke the record for global box office. Titanic’s earnings have only been surpassed by Cameron’s 2009 film, Avatar, which garnered an unprecedented $2.8 billion worldwide.

The first thing I liked about Orange Is the New Black is that it premiered on a dull summer Thursday.

While weekends get busy in the summer, so much of the television goes away during the week (that’s the only real explanation I have for why I’m still watching Under the Dome). So on a pure consumer level, this television junky was thrilled by Netflix debuting 13 meaty new episodes of an intriguing prison drama this week.

And in many respects, Orange is proving to be a perfect solution to the drought of quality content available this month on both digital and traditional platforms. I watched the show over the past few days, admittedly at a much slower pace than usual, but even still got sucked into the story of Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a newly convicted resident of the federal penitentiary system.

Orange represents an interesting cross between the distinctive styles of House of Cards — traditional serialized storytelling — and Arrested Development Season 4 — which is a Russian doll of flashbacks and interwoven events.

The show, created by Weeds showrunner Jenji Kohan, chronicles Chapman and the eclectic ensemble cast’s coping with prison life, but makes heavy use of flashbacks to shed light on how many of the inmates came to be institutionalized. Other scenes flesh out Chapman’s life prior to conviction, and between those reveals, the peeks into the lives of others and the main storyline taking place within prison walls, the end result is both linear narrative and rich tapestry.

the ending was so perfect! I just finished watching this like an hour ago and already cannot deal my OITNB withdrawal.
Gemma

Gemma Arterton is Betty Page for LOVE Magazine (and some other Bettys too)

There's no denying Gemma Arterton is a natural beauty so it comes as no surprise to hear LOVE magazine have signed up the Brit actress to star in a beauty series called ‘Being Betty’. Makeup guru Lisa Eldridge has collaborated with editor-in-chief Katie Grand to create the videos in which Gemma plays three different characters all named Betty - Betty Page, Betty Blue and Betty Ford.
'I had no idea if Gemma would like my concept but if you don’t ask you don’t get, so I gave it a go!' says Lisa of the shoot. Luckily for Lisa - and us! - Gemma loved the idea and the results are suitably sumptuous. The star simpers around to the sounds of 'I Want Candy' dressed up in a sparkling red body suit before switching into a black ruffled corset teamed with fishnet tight.
On the beauty front, she's sporting a jet black wig with a blunt fringe, gorgeously fluttering eyelashes and a bold red lip that stands out against her porcelain skin. She makes the perfect retro beauty icon and certainly gives Dita Von Teese a run for her burlesque money.
Lisa tells us that this is her favourite 'Betty' look. 'From a make-up perspective, I love how iconic Betty Page looks and how Gemma embodies this. Although I do also love Betty Ford too, she’s so effortlessly chic.' So what's her top tip for emulating that iconic eye flick? 'Try using a gel liner as it’s easier to control, you can also try using a pencil first and go over the line using the gel.'
'Gemma for me is a classic British beauty,' continues Lisa. 'A great beauty with a gorgeously naughty streak, she has so much natural charm - girls adore her and men fancy the pants off her.' And she's not wrong.

Why Are the Millennials Screwed Up? By Alexis Neiers

Baby Boomers love to shit on the Millennials. They say we’re lazy narcissists who are fucked up because we have Instagram applications on our iPhones. This is obviously stupid, but it’s also obvious that the Millennials are a screwed generation. Over 5 million young people struggle to find work. Seven out of ten Americans use drugs, with a particularly high rate among young people. There are 10,000 homeless young people in Los Angeles County alone.

Matt Damon and Jodie Foster take you inside the worlds of Elysium

If you're as hungry for Elysium news as we are, you'll appreciate this short featurette which includes a bit of new footage, but also features director Neil Blomkamp explaining what inspired him to make the movie, Matt Damon discussing how terrible Earth is and Jodie Foster revealing a rather important detail about her character.

That detail? Her Elysium commander was born on Earth. I assume this means she was born before Elysium was constructed, since the lack of social mobility between Earth and the space station seems to be a pretty important element of the movie. Still, having seen Earth's crappiness firsthand gives her a better reason for wanting to keep Elysium "uninfected" with Earth's troubles (and peoples), as opposed to just being Evil Rich White Lady.

I loved Pacific Rim but it really sucks that it isn't doing well at the box office, I hope Elysium does well (considering it is only made on a $90-100 million dollar budget) for the sake of original sci-fi's!

In more uplifting news, Nelson Mandela said to be improving

Nelson Mandela remains hospitalized, but his health is reportedly improving after spending five weeks in a Pretoria hospital with a lung infection.

Former South African President Thabo Mbeki, who succeeded Mandela, the country's first black president, says that the former anti-apartheid and Nobel laureate could be discharged soon.

Mandela has been in critical condition since June 8 when he was hospitalized with the recurring infection, which he first contracted during his 27 years as a political prison.

Although the most recent report from the hospital continues to list Mandela in critical but stable condition, his wife, Graca Machel and current President Jacob Zuma have said he is responding to treatment.

Mandela's grandson, Zondwa Mandela, told Reuters he hoped his grandfather would by "seated with us" for the "small lunch" planned for his 95th birthday on Thursday, but that it was up to the doctors.

"Really it's a medical thing and we are hoping that through his treatment he has a speedy recovery," he said.

Mariah Carey Hits Homerun With Latest Concert!

Mariah Carey Teams With NY Philharmonic in Central Park: Concert Review

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The pop singer, who recently dislocated her shoulder, performs at charity event organized by Major League Baseball for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

A mere injury is not about to prevent a true diva from looking suitably glamorous. Despite a dislocated shoulder suffered last week during the shooting of her latest music video, Mariah Carey went on with the show Saturday night, performing in Central Park with the New York Philharmonic. Wearing glittery, form-fitting white and black gowns with matching sequined slings, the singer made partial incapacity look good.

Regina Spektor fires back at "fans" disagreeing with her views on the Zimmerman trial.

regina-spektor

Yesterday the lovely Regina Spektor spoke out about the Zimmerman trial on her facebook page and expressed how she felt no justice was served.

"My heart goes out to the family and friends of Trayvon Martin... and to all the people wondering how one man can kill another- for nothing- and go free... Trayvon's life had value and there was no justice served
tonight... Such a sad way to see how far we are from equality....
After all these years love is still the answer- it's the only way out...."

A lot of people did not agree with her and started commenting hateful things on her post and telling her to "should shut up, check your facts and just stick to singing" amongst other things.

Clearly Regina wasn't having any of this and wrote the following:

Rap's History-Making Week on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart

For the first time in the Billboard 200 chart's history, rap albums have held down the top three spots in three successive weeks.

J. Cole's "Born Sinner" is No. 1 this week, followed by Wale's "The Gifted" and Kanye West's "Yeezus" at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. A week ago, the order was: Wale, Cole and West. And, the week before that: West, Cole and Mac Miller (with his "Watching Movies With the Sound Off").

There have been two previous times when we've had two consecutive weeks where the top three were all rap albums.

It last happened on the July 13-20, 2002 charts, when Nelly's "Nellyville," Eminem's "The Eminem Show" and Nas' "God's Favorite" ruled at Nos. 1-3 (July 13). It was immediately followed by Nelly, Eminem and the compilation "Irv Gotti Presents The Inc" (July 20).

Before that, the feat last happened on Oct. 17-24, 1998. Jay-Z's "Vol. 2 ... Hard Knock Life" led in both weeks, with OutKast's "Aquemini" and A Tribe Called Quest's "The Love Movement" rounding out the top three on Oct. 17. The next week, Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" and Bizzy Bone's "Heaven'z Movie" were Nos. 2 and 3.

Speaking of Jay-Z ... His latest album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail," should easily top next week's Billboard 200 chart. Industry sources forecast the set to debut with 475,000 to 500,000 sold in the week ending July 14. It will give Jay-Z his lucky 13th No. 1, extending his record for the most chart-toppers among solo artists.

If he tops the list -- which is pretty much a certainty -- he'll mark another bit of chart history: It will be the first time that four different rap albums have consecutively spent their initial week at No. 1. We last had three in a row between Sept. 3-24, 2011. That's when Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Watch the Throne," the Game's "The R.E.D. Album" and Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" all consecutively spent their initial weeks at No. 1.

The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, July 17.

Controversial trials and the famous defenders of the not guilty

Michael Jackson
creepyno

For all of Michael Jackson’s talent and hard work, his legacy will forever be tainted by one ugly and recurring storyline. The first allegations of child molestation against the King of Pop arose in 1993, though charges fell apart under scrutiny. Nearly a decade later footage taken for a documentary by Martin Bashir had enough questionable content that Jackson was arrested in November 2003 and indicted on seven counts of child molestation and other charges. Jackson was acquitted on all charges less than two years later.

Emma Stone uses what on her face?

Imagine you’re a celebrity. A well liked celebrity in fact, with a few movies and a good reputation under your belt. You’re becoming quite the attraction at red carpet events and money is no issue. What would be your favourite beauty product?

If any of you answered with baking soda, I’d firstly like to say, really? Baking soda? Any product in the world and you chose baking soda? And secondly, you’ll be pleased to know you have something in common with actress Emma Stone.

The Amazing Spiderman star has said that she uses baking soda to scrub her face and get rid of dry patches. Apparently the more commonly known kitchen ingredient is great for exfoliating and judging by Emma’s flawless skin, it doesn’t do a bad job either.

So the next time you go to bake a cake, maybe try a little baking soda on your skin. Anything to be like the celebs right?
