‘I’m not a feminist because I have a penis.’ – the world according to James Deen

On feminism: ‘Why am I not a feminist? Because… I have a penis. Seriously, I believe in respect, I believe in equality. If someone’s an asshole, then you treat them like an asshole. If they’re a woman and they’re an asshole, then you treat them like a female asshole.’

On objectifying women:
‘I get objectified all the time. We’re objectifying people as much as mainstream entertainment objectifies people. I haven’t done extensive research but Metro, from what I’ve seen of it, you objectify the s*** out of everybody, which is fine – it’s your job and it sells.’

Adam Levine tips Danielle Bradbery as The Voice Winner

Making Blake a 3 time Coach winner!

Who will be "The Voice" winner of season 4? The last three remaining artists on "The Voice" include newcomer Team Usher's Michelle Chamuel as well as Blake Shelton's the Swon Brothers and Danielle Bradbery. Adam Levine and Shakira are left with no artists in the final three, and coach Adam Levine revealed during Monday night's performances who he thinks "The Voice" winner should be.

"The crazy thing about your voice is it's just so unbelievably perfect and powerful," he said. "It's one of the better voices I think I've ever hear live... And I'm just going to go ahead and say, I think Danielle's the winner of this thing," Adam Levine added. "I think you're one of the most important artists we've ever seen walk across this stage."

Despite the ongoing (playful) rivalry between coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, Levine seens to be expressing glowing support for Shelton's artist in his prediction of "The Voice" winner. Blake Shelton even gave Levine a standing ovation after he suggested the 16-year-old country singer would win season 4 of "The Voice". What did Danielle Bradbery's coach Blake Shelton think of her performance of "Born to Fly" Monday night?

"As your coach, I'd like to sit here and say coach-y type things, but at the end of the day ... I'm one of the millions of people out there that you have wrapped around your finger," Blake Shelton said, WebProNews reports. "Thank God that you came to 'The Voice' to debut yourself, because you are such an important person in music and I can't say enough about you."

Will Adam Levine's prediction prove correct and will Danielle Bradbery take the title of "The Voice" winner during Tuesday night's finale? Bradbery would be the youngest competitor to win "The Voice", but the Swon Brothers would be the first duo and Michelle Chamuel would be Usher's first win. Will Blake Shelton snag a third win on "The Voice"?

Watch NBC's "The Voice" season 4 finale on Tuesday at 9 pm. The special finale, Hollywood Reporter notes, features OneRepublic, Bob Seger, Bruno Mars, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Florida Georgia Line, Nelly and Hunter Hayes, as well as Cher's first live performance in over a decade.

Paula Deen admits to using the N-Word and wanting African Americans to act as Slaves at a Wedding!

Radar Online has put out information from Paula Deen's deposition that has revealed SHOCKING details about the well known southern cook Paula Deen.

"Celebrity chef Paula Deen has admitted to using the N-word and telling insensitive racial jokes during a May 17 deposition that was videotaped — and also confessed to her brother’s cocaine, pornography and alcohol addictions!

Paula, 66, admitted to using the N-word and wanting black waiters to play the role of slaves at a wedding party she was putting together, a new bombshell report from the National Enquirer claims.

“The personal disclosures uncovered have stunned Paula’s family and could mark the collapse of her entire empire,” a source told the tabloid."

The Emmy-winning kitchen queen was questioned for three hours because of the $1.2 million 2012 lawsuit in which the former General Manager of their Savannah, Georgia, restaurant, Lisa Jackson, claimed use of the N-word by Paula and sexual harassment and infliction of distress and assault by her brother Bubba Hiers.

“There She Is,” A Documentary About Plus-Size Beauty Queens

What better way to celebrate the beginning of Full Figured Fashion Week (and cleanse your palette after Sunday night’s Miss USA pageant ridiculousness) than with a documentary about plus-size beauty queens? “There She Is” stars two friends, Allison and Jenny, who love everything about beauty pageants: the makeup, the hair, the costumes, the glitter But unlike the women who compete in Miss USA and Miss America pageants, Allison and Jenny are both a size 22.

Filmmakers Emily Sheskin and Veena Rao follow the two plus-size women as they compete in the American Beauties Plus Pageant for women sizes 14 and up who push the boundaries of what is considered “beautiful” by our mainstream culture. Plus, “There She Is” is only 20 minutes long — hooray for short attention spans! — and you can watch the entire movie online.

Normally I think all things pageant-related are cheesy at best and repulsive at worse. However, “There She Is” got me to question whether pushing for inclusivity at pageants, rather than abolishing them entirely, might be a better option. Pageants are not going to ever go away. Women and girls competing against each other over their beauty is problematic, but there will always be some women — lesbians, women with alopecia, autistic women — for whom being included in a beauty pageant is akin to a radical act.

What do you think ONTD? Do you care about Full Figured Fashion Week? Do you think it's important to have plus size pageants?

Serena Williams releases apology regarding her Steubenville rape comments

“What happened in Steubenville was a real shock for me. I was deeply saddened. For someone to be raped, and at only sixteen, is such a horrible tragedy! For both families involved – that of the rape victim and of the accused. I am currently reaching out to the girl’s family to let her know that I am deeply sorry for what was written in the Rolling Stone article. What was written – what I supposedly said – is insensitive and hurtful, and I by no means would say or insinuate that she was at all to blame.

I have fought all of my career for women’s equality, women’s equal rights, respect in their fields – anything I could do to support women I have done. My prayers and support always goes out to the rape victim. In this case, most especially, to an innocent sixteen year old child.”

Dolce and Gabbana Found GUILTY!

Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were found guilty of tax evasion. A Milan court ruled on the case this morning.

dolce and gabbana

The designing duo have been hiding hundreds of millions of euros from the tax authorities according to reports. The case dates back to 2004. They sold their brand to Gado, a Luxembourg-based holding company, to allegedly avoid declaring taxes on royalties of about 1 billion euros ( equals about $1.3 billion). Prosecutor Gaetano Ruta explains, “”Gado was 80 percent controlled by D&G srl which was owned 50 percent each by Dolce and Gabbana.”

Both deny any wrongdoing and were not present in court.

Reps have not made any statements yet.

Mariah Carey was Nick Cannon's "dream girl"; Nick says he "willed into existence" his marriage

Literal angel on Earth Mariah Carey with talent show host Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon said that he willed his marriage to Mariah Carey "into existence" during his visit to "Late Show." He said he'd always considered Carey his dream girl, and that hasn't changed. The only difference is that now he's living his dream every day.

“She’s mommy. She’s no longer Mariah around the house," Cannon said of Carey. "She’s just mommy. So it’s a beautiful thing.” The couple has young twins at home.

When asked who runs the house, Cannon declared, "Me, Dave! Come on, man! You know I run it. She may pay the bills, but I run the house!” But nobody really believes that, do they?

Things are going great for the couple, who just celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at Disneyland. The anniversary coincided with the second birthdays of their twin boys, Moroccan and Monroe.

Cannon is doing his party with those bills, too. He's currently hosting "America's Got Talent," Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, and will head up the return of his improv battles series, "Wild 'N Out," on MTV2 after a five year hiatus.

Miss America USA Kenya Moore Gets Evicted From Her Atlanta Home

Kenya Moore Gets Evicted From Her Atlanta Home

Kenya Moore may have celebrity status but her pockets don’t.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was recently evicted from her ATL home, according Radar Online. Moore and her landlord Conya Weems have been in a legal dispute regarding unpaid fees. Last month, Weems tried to evict the “Gone With the Wind Fabolous” singer for not paying $848 of her May rent, which led her to default on the terms and conditions of her lease.

“The decision to file this eviction notice regarding Ms. Moore was reached after pursuing every possible amicable way to settle this matter privately,” the landlord said in her defense.

Kenya denied ever missing a payment and filed a counter suit for wrongful eviction, slander and emotional distress that the judge threw out.

The former Miss USA winner didn’t appear in court to hear the final judgement, but we’re going to safely assume, she got the memo.

Once Upon a Time: No plans for Lancelot to return

Once Upon a Time‘s Lancelot shall ride again, in Season 3. The big question is: How?

Speaking with HollywoodLife.com, the knight’s portrayer Sinqua Walls, says, “I don’t know exactly how the character’s going to evolve, but we’ll see more parallels, and [get more] answers. And is he really dead, or not?”

After all, when Lancelot was introduced in Season 2 — as an ally of displaced Snow White and Emma in The Fairytale Land That Is — it was ultimately revealed that he was merely Cora in disguise. The evil queen mum then boasted that she had killed the knight before co-opting his form.

But was Cora merely stretching the truth?

This much we know: Coming out of the Season 2 finale, Aurora, Mulan and Prince Phillip have discovered a wounded Neal/Baelfire on the shores of Fairytale Land present. And as confirmed in TVLine’s Inside Line column, it will be explained how the princesses managed to resurrect wraith victim Phillip.

M.I.A. Revisits Criticism of /\/\/\Y/\'s "The Message" in Light of NSA Surveillance Revelations

Big Brother "paranoia" now more prescient than it seemed

"The Message", the opening track on M.I.A.'s 2010 record /\/\/\Y/\ caught a lot of flack for lines perceived as politically juvenile: "Headbone connects to the neckbone/ Neckbone connects to the armbone/ Armbone connects to the handbone/ Handbone connects to the internet/ Connected to the Google/ Connected to the government" and "Headbone connected to the headphones/ Headphones connected to the iPhone/ iPhone connected to the internet/ Connected to the Google/ Connected to the government."

Now, presumably in light of the recent news about the N.S.A.'s surveillance program, M.I.A. has taken to her Tumblr to revisit the three-year-old criticisms of those lyrics (including ours, which called the song "a bad demo with a simplistic, paranoid rap that's as rhetorically effective as someone in a dorm room ranting about the C.I.A. inventing A.I.D.S."). (Didn't Kanye say the government did that. Did they make fun of him then? hmmm - OP)

Other descriptions used for the song include "would-be narcissism and paranoia," "awful/obvious/incoherent," "neither a pleasure to listen to nor think about," "horribly paranoid rant," "unremarkable and... perilously tied to a transient time," "half baked paranoid ramble," "clumsy, ham-fisted" and more.

M.I.A.'s Tumblr collage shows that in retrospect, the criticisms of M.I.A.'s politically charged words and alleged paranoia can seem just as silly as her lyrics once might have.

M.I.A. is the truth.

The newest season of The Bachelorette (we LOVE YOU DES!) is now underway. 'Breaking Bad': Bryan Cranston On The End Of The Series And Whether He's Satisfied With The Finale

"Breaking Bad" Season 5 marks the end of AMC's critically acclaimed drama, and as we draw closer to the debut of the final eight episodes, star Bryan Cranston took to Reddit to host an AMA and answer fans' burning questions about the end of the series.

Read on to find out what we learned about "Breaking Bad" Season 5 and Cranston's experiences filming the show, direct from the man himself.

Walt's descent into villainy has been a slow but seemingly inevitable process, and Cranston pinpointed the moment when he thinks Walt officially "broke bad" fairly early on: "My feeling is that Walt broke bad in the very first episode. It was very subtle but he did because that's when he decided to become someone that he's not in order to gain financially. He made the Faustian deal at that point and everything else was a slippery slope."

'The Hour' to return for one-off special?

Peter Capaldi has hinted that The Hour could return for a one-off special.

The BBC newsroom drama was dropped after two series, but Capaldi claimed at last night's (May 12) BAFTA Television Awards that a final episode could be in the works.

"We might do a one-off - catching up on some of the characters," said the actor - who was BAFTA-nominated for his performance in the show's second run. "I think it'll be fascinating to see them again."

Romola Garai - who played Bel Rowley - admitted that she would be interested in reprising her role for a final special.

"They could do that - the show was left on a terrible cliffhanger so I think it's really sad that you don't get to finish off any of the storylines," she said. "So yeah, something like that would be great.

Asked about possible storylines for the special, she added: "Possibly the Freddie and Bel love story coming to some kind of dramatic resolution and them... ending up together. I certainly know people who enjoyed the show wanted that to happen, so that might've been a direction we could've gone in."
The Hour creator Abi Morgan previously revealed her plans for a third series of The Hour, explaining that Freddie (Ben Whishaw) would have "gone to the dark side" after surviving a brutal beating from mobsters.

This article is a month old, but I don't think it was posted, so.... yeah.

Tbh, Idk how to feel about this. On one hand, I was really sad that The Hour was canceled. But on the other hand, I think the show worked because it was a serialized story with a slow build. I'm not sure how well it'd do with just one more hour to tie things up. I'm not convinced they'd be able to tell a good story in such a short time.

The Veronica Mars Movie: Deputy Leo Is On Duty

Deputy Leo is patrolling once more.

As long suspected, New Girl star Max Greenfield will return for the Veronica Mars movie, the actor recently confirmed to Gold Derby.

Fans will remember Greenfield as the young P.I.’s one-time love interest and a member of the sheriff’s department.

“I will be there [for the movie]. So will Deputy Leo. I’m really excited about it,” he told the site during a video chat. “It’s one of those few occasions where you’re going to work on something — I think I’m going down to work for a day — where everybody is just so excited to be there, everybody is going to be going full-force on this project. It’s going to be a fun reunion. You really want to go in there and do some really solid work, because obviously people put up their own money to see this.”

Greenfield joins a cast that already includes former series regulars Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowell, Tina Majorino and Francis Capra.

Also reprising their roles from the original series are Christine Lakin (as Susan Knight), Amanda Noret (Madison Sinclair), Sam Huntington (Luke Haldeman), Brandon Hillock (Deputy Sacks), Kevin Sheridan (Sean Friedrich) and Jonathan Chesner (Corny).

Production on the film began this week in Los Angeles.

J. Cole Goes On Twitter Rant, Says "F-ck Critics"

J. Cole doesn't seem to be happy with people (read: media) that are too analytical, and too quick, when it comes to rating new music. At least that's what seems to be the case if you caught his rant against critics and anyone "f-cking up Hip-Hop," via Twitter. The Roc Nation rapper kicks things off by commenting on sales projections, and just kept going from there. "Projections f-cking up hip hop," he tweeted in the early a.m. Wednesday (June 19). "First week tally's f-ckin up hip hop. Your 1 listen reviews are f-cking up hip hop. To keep it real, your whole publication is f-ckin up hip hop. Cole never does the mention the publication, or any particular critic, by name, though. The North Carolina-born rapper then went on to say that fans and artists like Drake and Kendrick Lamar are saving Hip-Hop, while dropping more vitriol toward's "critics." "The PEOPLE are saving hip hop. You niggas are Critics. Not fans. F-ck critics. The people decide," he wrote. Artists often fall back on the "critics are not fans" crutch whenever they read something about their art that they don't like. The reality is that critics are indeed fans first. Why else would they take the time to listen to the material and offer a proper "critique" of the music, good or bad? There are occasions when critics overstep their bounds and slam an artist unfairly. Such as Cole's mention of albums getting reviewed without the music being properly digested. However, without knowing who J. Cole was calling out in his rant specifically, you can't really determine if his ire was justified or not. But hey, props to Cole for speaking/tweeting his mind and not deleting the words shortly after. J. Cole's sophomore album, Born Sinner, is out now. Give it more than one listen.

That embarrassing Twilight fanfic movie is still happening, to be directed by a woman

Sam Taylor-Johnson's previous credits include Nowhere Boy and stealing Aaron Johnson's youth.

More info on casting:

While Sam Taylor-Johnson's hiring immediately prompts speculation that her husband will be considered for the role of Christian Grey, TheWrap has heard that he is not expected to pursue the role.

Taylor-Johnson and writer Kelly Marcel are both British, and in keeping with that theme, Felicity Jones is the actress that TheWrap has heard rumored most often for the role of virginal protagonist Anastasia Steele.

However, due to the extreme sexual nature of the material, it's possible that the filmmakers could cast an unknown as Anastasia rather than an established actress who would have to consent to appearing nude.

An individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap that director Darren Aronofsky was offered "Fifty Shades of Grey" a month ago and passed on the project, as he's still putting the finishing touches on his Biblical movie "Noah."

Gus Van Sant chased the coveted gig, going so far as to shoot a test reel featuring Alex Pettyfer as Christian, but Universal and Focus wanted to go with a younger, edgier and more importantly, female director.

Kim Cattrall's 3 Rules for Visiting London

Kim Cattrall knows her way around London.
Not only was the Sex and the City star born there and spent a fair chunk of her childhood living in the area, but she's currently scooping up rave reviews for her starring role in a revival of Tennessee Williams' Sweet Bird of Youth at the city's Old Vic theater.

We caught up with Cattrall in-between performances to get her three rules on what you should do when visiting the U.K.'s capital city.

1. Visit a National Trust Property: "Go to their website and see what's happening in one of their many incredibly cared for estate homes with beautiful gardens to relax in," Cattrall says. Some fine examples include the 74-year-old but very modern 2 Willow Road and the Sutton House, a Tudor mansion from 1535 that includes—get ready for it!—London's oldest bathroom.

2. Eat Up: Make a Saturday visit to Borough Market in SE1, a wholesale and retail food market. "Have fun exploring the many food stalls while stopping for lunch or a snack at the Tapas Brindisa café," Cattrall says.

3. And, of Course, Go to the Theater: "Step outside the usual commercial theatre venues in London and see a show at The Old Vic, The National Theatre, The Royal Court or the Almeida," Cattrall says. "These are brilliant theatres to discover new plays or revivals with terrific productions."

Sweet Bird of Youth runs through Aug. 31.

Miley Cyrus: 'My old music is irritating'

Miley Cyrus has revealed that she feels "disconnected" from her musical past.

The singer admitted that she finds it "irritating" that people can listen to her previous albums - which includes five LPs from her Disney series Hannah Montana - on iTunes.

"Right now, when people go to iTunes and listen to my old music, it's so irritating to me because I can't just erase that stuff and start over," she told Billboard.

"My last record [2009's Can't Be Tamed] I feel so disconnected from - I was 16 or 17 when I made it. When you're in your 20s, you just don't really know that person anymore."

Discussing her new single 'We Can't Stop', she explained: "I didn't make this song for the critics, but for the people living it.

"I'm 20 years old and I want to talk to the people that are up all night with their friends. It's based on a true story of a crazy night I had. When I heard the song for the first time, it captured exactly what I was living."

All eyes are on the charts as Kanye West, J. Cole, Mac Miller, and Kelly Rowland battle it out this week. After a full day in stores, early estimates are in.

The biggest showdown is between Kanye and Cole. According to HITS Daily Double, Kanye’s Yeezus is on track to outsell Cole’s Born Sinner with 375-400k, while Cole’s sophomore set is predicted to move 290-315k units based on one-day estimates.

That would give Kanye the second biggest debut of the year behind Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience (968k) and Cole the fourth largest debut after Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories (339k).

Mac Miller’s second album Watching Movies With the Sound Off is approaching the 95-105k range. His 2011 debut Blue Slide Park opened at No. 1 with 145,000.

Kelly Rowland is facing off with her male counterparts with her fourth album Talk a Good Game, which is expected to sell 60-65k copies in its first week. Her previous set, 2011’s Here I Am, entered at No. 3 with 77,000.

Jennifer Love Hewitt isn't happy about what's going on on "The Client List,".

Pregnant Hewitt is battling with Lifetime over the plot line of Season 3, should the network decide to order another season, the website reports.

Hewitt, who is an executive producer on "The Client List," has reportedly requested that Kyle (Brian Hallisay, her real-life fiance) be the father of her character Riley's baby, while showrunner Suzanne Martin is gunning for Evan, played by the series’ male lead Colin Egglesfield.

“There are many story lines we are exploring,” Hewitt’s rep said. “So any suggestion that we are not doing our best to develop a great season is simply not accurate.”

Sunday night marked the Season 2 finale of the Lifetime series, and on Twitter, Hewitt thanked fans for their support and crossed her fingers for a third season.

The situation with Hewitt is reportedly holding up a potential Season 3 pickup, but the ratings might also be a factor. The show's numbers slipped a bit in its sophomore season.

I actually like JLH, she is so inoffensive. But, she can't be serious about her demands. I read on deadline that she wants her fiance to be involved in a major arc next season. I think the producers are trying to play dirty by leaking this to the press. The showrunner's suggestion that Evan should be the daddy makes no sense seeing that Riley didn't sleep with Evan.

Novelist Vince Flynn, dead at 47.

Novelist Vince Flynn, who was diagnosed with stage three metastatic prostate cancer in 2010, but continued to write his best-selling thrillers, has died at the age of 47.

Flynn died Wednesday morning at United Hospital in St. Paul.

He's best known for his CIA page-turners that starred Mitch Rapp, a counterterrorism operative who made Flynn the darling of conservatives. He wrote 14 USA TODAY best sellers. Three reached No. 2 on the list: Kill Shot and The Last Man (both in 2012) and American Assassin in 2010. His publisher, Atria, says it's not yet known what or how much was completed on Flynn's next novel, The Survivor, originally scheduled to be released in October.

In a 2012 interview with USA TODAY, Flynn discussed living and working with cancer: "The first 48 hours of my diagnosis were hellish," he said. "Things just seemed to get worse and worse. We (he and his wife) were sneaking around the house, whispering so the kids wouldn't hear us. It was horrible.

"But, he said then, " I feel great now. ... We have this under control."

He's survived by his wife, Lysa, and three children (a stepson, 16, and two daughters, 11 and 9).

His fans included George W. Bush, who called Flynn "a little too accurate" because Flynn's books are often so true to CIA actions around the world. Once, while catching a ride in Bush's limo from Andrews Air Force Base, Flynn was grilled by the then-president on where he gets his information. "I started to stutter," Flynn said.

His 2004 Memorial Day describes a raid very similar to the one that killed Osama bin Laden in 2011. Often his books have been put on security review by the Pentagon before they are released, and they are even used by the Secret Service to identify possible lapses in their security. "It used to astound even me," he said of his "clairvoyance." All he did, he said, was "connect the dots. I just look at what's going on in the world."

Flynn was working in sales and commercial real estate 20 years ago when he began reading voraciously in an effort to conquer his childhood dyslexia. In the process he fell in love with espionage novels and decided to try writing one himself.

His first book, Term Limits, was self-published in 1997 after Flynn received 60 rejection letters. After its immediate success, an agent signed him. Flynn said his novels are "entertainment, educational and serve as cautionary tales." Heading the charge is rough-and-tumble CIA agent Rapp, who was introduced in Flynn's second novel, Transfer of Power. Flynn was close friends with radio commentator Rush Limbaugh, whom he called "one of the smartest guys I've ever met." Flynn said not all his fans are conservatives. But if the scales tip toward the right, it probably comes from the pro-military, CIA and law enforcement theme of the books," he said. "And the idea that the United States is not the problem."

Mumford & Sons' Ted Dwane posts picture following brain surgery

Bear with a sore head! Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working! I'm home xx

Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane has posted a picture of himself on Twitter following treatment for a blood clot on his brain last week.

The musician, 28, was released from hospital in America on Friday and is now "on the road to a full recovery".

He posted a snap of himself with surgery scars visible on the top of his scalp, accompanied by the caption: "Bear with a sore head!"

"Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working. I'm home. Ted xx"

Last Tuesday, the four piece folk band wrote on their website: "Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment."

"The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."

His release from hospital last Friday was announced "with great joy" by the band who said the "surgery went well and the excellent medical team helping him are very pleased with his progress."

It continued: "He has been nothing short of heroic in how he has handled the whole ordeal, and now it has been medically proved that he does indeed have a brain."

The band, who shot to fame with their debut album, Sigh No More, in 2010, had to cancel a string of dates on their American tour while Dwane was treated.

Mumford & Sons are due to headline at Glastonbury on 30 June. It is unclear at this stage whether Dwane will be well enough for their appearance.

Anonymous paparazzo pens column, "Bald Britney Spears Was The Dot-Com Boom Era For Paparazzi"

Britney Spears was like an ATM in my world, because from the grunts in the field taking the shots to the editors and owners back in the office, everyone was making withdrawals in her name. Between 2007 (from the time shaved her head) to 2009 (when she was dating paparazzo Adnan Ghalib), the money being paid to us for photos of her in various states of duress (which, at that time, was practically every time she went outside) was astronomical.

One shot of Britney slowly spiraling into insanity, one video of her shaving her head, or, the just one clip of her going fucking umbrella-attack crazy, could be your mortgage payment for the next year or a new car.

Man of Steel review by James Franco

Last week I was asked to attend the London premiere of Man of Steel, so after working on my forthcoming little thriller at Pinewood studios, I went over to Leicester Square to see the latest filmic take on the superhero.

Many things went through my head, both subjective and objective, or rather as a person on the inside of the film business and as an indiscriminate viewer of the film. I too have been in comic-book films—the Spider-Man trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. I mention the director because this distinction is now necessary in the wake of the new Spider-Man series that arose even before there was time to bury the corpse of the old one and enshroud it in the haze of nostalgia. Indeed there are still young children who approach me as fans of the original (boy, it seems weird to say that) series. I don’t have a huge emotional attachment to the Spider-Man franchise as a subject, my biggest sentimental ties are to the people I worked with on those films: Sam, Toby, Kirsten, the late and great Laura Ziskin, and the hundreds of others who worked with us. I don’t really feel much distress over its being remade, for many reasons, but what is interesting to me is that it has been remade so quickly—and the reasons why.

The answer is, of course, money. We are in the film business, and the studios are owned by large corporations who want to make money. And in this art form, where so much is spent and so much profit can be made, one criterion for success is inevitably the financial. And when movies become so big that they can make $200 million in one weekend like The Avengers did, everyone from studios to filmmakers are going to want to get in on making comic-book movies. And when great directors like Sam Raimi and Christopher Nolan show that equally great characters can live within special-effects-laden films, then the comic-book genre becomes legitimized and great actors will follow. But the biggest reason, we cannot forget, is money. For all involved, it’s about being able to work with the biggest toys and the best people, because the product can support paying for them. And that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If you want to make a movie about a man who can fly and tear spaceships in half with his hands, then you need lots of money to make it look good. Otherwise you might as well keep the story in the comic books, where it costs much less to make superhuman feats look cool.

I was also at Leicester Square earlier this year for the premiere of my film Oz, when the red carpet was a yellow brick road, but the night I saw the new Superman, I arrived incognito: 1) because it wasn’t my film, and 2) because I don’t think Henry Cavill would have wanted to see me there. Not that we’re enemies. Years ago we worked on a film together called Tristan and Isolde. I played Tristan and he played my backstabbing sidekick. My hunch is that he didn’t like me very much. I don’t know this for certain, but I know that I wouldn’t have liked myself back then because I was a difficult young actor who took himself too seriously.

GRL finds the only person basic enough to actually stan for them

Hey, everyone! It’s a new girl group!

Oh, just kidding — it’s the same old new formation of The Pussycat Dolls (younger, sexier, less Nicole Scherzinger-ier) that have been kicking around for a few months. Now, though, they have a new name — GRL — because (as sex mogul/slavedriver Robin Antin, a vision in high-waisted stonewashed denim, explains: “There’s no “I” in “TEAM.” Also because everything is awful and embarrassing. But mostly because of the team thing.)

At any rate, the girls made an appearance at Chateau Marmont last night and gave us a little taste of what to expect from their new life, and here’s what we know:

Item! GRL is comprised of Lauren Bennett (amazing because she was once a member of Antin’s short-lived pop globalization failed experiment Paradiso Girls), Natasha Slayton (amazing because her last name contains the word “Slay”), Paula Van Oppen (amazing because she is fierce, fearless, looks like Amber Rose), Simone Battle (amazing because she released a legitimately amusing single called “He Likes Boys” after appearing on The X Factor in 2011) and Emmalynn Estrada (amazing because she is the younger sister of mediocre Canadian pop chanteuse Elise Estrada).

Item! According to Robin Antin, a highly trustworthy human with tip-top integrity, they are working with Dr. Luke on their album.

Item! They can all sing and dance. Yup. All of them.

Item! Robin Antin’s pants.

That’s pretty much all you need to know. Watch them talk, twerk, dance and eventually bore you to tears up top.

Jamie Lynn Spears' Daughter Maddie Celebrates 5th Birthday, Wears Dolce & Gabbana

Maddie is growing up fast -- and becoming quite the fashionista! Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter (and Britney Spears' niece) celebrated her 5th birthday on Wednesday, June 19.

Jamie Lynn, 22, shared a cute picture of Maddie on Instagram all dressed up for her special day. "Birthday girl!!!" she captioned the shot. "Picked out her bday outfit by herself! Dolce & Gabbana shoes Crewcuts. I'm in trouble," she joked.

In the picture, Maddie, who recently finished her first year of school, shows off her stylish ensemble of a gray cardigan, white T-shirt, tropical print shorts, a gold necklace and neon pink flats by J.Crew.

Later in the day, Jamie Lynn later shared a photo of her daughter at a hair salon, digging into a box of sweets on her lap.

Five years ago, Jamie Lynn welcomed Maddie with then-fiance Casey Aldridge when she was just 17 years old. The new parents called off their engagement in 2009, and ended things for good in 2010.

In March 2013, the former Nickelodeon actress announced her engagement to boyfriend of three years, Jamie Watson. She tweeted a picture of herself posing with her fiance and showing off her huge diamond ring, captioning the shot, "Guess what???" She also shared a close-up shot of the sparkler and added, "He did good."

Slim Whitman, Yodeling Country Star, Dies at 90

slim whitman photo: slim whitman 666 web_Slim_Whitman.jpg

Slim Whitman, one of country music's most unique song stylists of the past six decades, died of heart failure Wednesday at a Florida hospital, his family said. He was 90.

With millions of records sold, Whitman's keen ability at yodeling and his high octave falsetto kept fans entertained for years.

Born in Tampa, Florida, Whitman grew up enamored with the music of the "Singing Brakeman," Jimmie Rodgers. However, it wasn't until his stint in the United States Navy came to an end following the end of World War II that he decided to pursue music as a profession.

He started his career by playing in a band called the Variety Rhythm Boys – and was heard by future Elvis Presley manager Tom Parker, who offered to represent him. Parker was able to secure a recording deal with RCA Victor where he released his first single in 1948. However, it took Whitman until 1952 to really find his niche, peaking in the top ten with songs such as "Indian Love Call" and "Keep It A Secret." He charted regularly in the United States through 1955, with the hits becoming more sporadic after that.

His version of "Rose Marie" became a hit in England in 1955, staying at No. 1 on the charts for 11 weeks.

It took him six years to land another chart single, peaking at No. 30 in 1961 with "The Bells That Broke My Heart."

Beginning in 1965 with "More Than Yesterday," the singer entered his most consistent phase of his career, placing 22 singles on the charts through 1974, with the biggest being "Something To Remember," which earned a No. 6 position in 1971.

Though he was well known in the United States, Whitman's star shone even brighter abroad, as he was one of the most successful country acts in the UK, earning several hits there when his career had slowed in America.

In 1979, Whitman became involved in what was a new concept -- the mail order TV album. His first, All My Best, was a success -- selling over 1.5 million units, and led to several other releases in the 1980s. He returned to the Billboard Top-20 in 1980 with When, and earned his first appearance on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show.

Along the way, thanks to his television exposure, Whitman became a pop culture figure. Artists such as Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison each cited him as a favorite, and his TV-album ads were even spoofed on SCTV by Joe Flaherty. He was also name-checked in films such as Mars Attacks! (1996) and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007).

In Mars Attacks!, directed by Tim Burton, Whitman's yodel from "Indian Love Call" had the power to make the invading Martians' heads explode.

Whitman released his last album, Twilight On The Trail, in 2010. He passed away at Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, FL on Wednesday morning surrounded by family. He is survived by a son and a daughter. His wife of 67 years, Alma, passed away in 2009. Arrangements are pending.

Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines Remains Atop Hot 100 Chart, meanwhile Pharrell has songs at #1 and #2

Robin Thicke spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Blurred Lines," featuring T.I. and Pharrell. Pharrell, meanwhile, thanks to Daft Punk's 3-2 lift with "Get Lucky," on which he's featured, becomes the first artist in four years to place songs at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously. Imagine Dragons additionally fire up a piece of Hot 100 history, completing a record-establishing trek to the top five.

"Lines" locks up the Hot 100's top spot as the chart's top Digital and Airplay Gainer. The track spends a third week at No. 1 on Digital Songs, gaining by 18% to 371,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and reaches the top five on Radio Songs and Streaming Songs: it bound 8-4 on the former chart (96 million all-format audience impressions, up 32%) and 8-5 on the latter (3.7 million U.S. streams, up 6%), according to Nielsen BDS.

"Lines" concurrently notches a second week at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and a fifth week atop the R&B Songs chart.

Shailene Woodley's Mary Jane-Watson character won't appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Wow. Didn't see this one coming. Although, with the continued stack-up of characters filling the screentime of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, it's little wonder that something would have to give. However, I never would've thought that Mary Jane would be the one to take the bullet first. After Sony's announcement that they'd be steamrolling through two more Spidey films on the heels of the sequel, it looks like "big picture" ideas have come into play and seemingly nudged Shailene Woodley's Mary-Jane Watson out of the picture and into the next one. This comes on the heels of Felicity Jones basically admitting to playing the Black Cat in the film, who is another love interest of Peter Parker's in the comics.

Will Wheaton Reviews 'Star Trek Into Darkness'

I don’t go to the movies very often. I think the last time I went to a theatre on purpose was to see the first of the current Star Trek movies, and then I only went because it was a private screening and I could reasonably expect the audience to shut the fuck up, turn off their damn phones, and pay attention to the film.

I planned to write a paragraph here detailing why I hate going to the movies, but I think I just covered it, so let me write a different paragraph instead, about how I finally found a movie theatre that I will go to as long as it exists: the iPic theatre in Pasadena (also called Gold Class, I understand) is the only way I will ever watch a movie again for the rest of my life if I can help it. It costs much more than a typical multiplex, but it is entirely worth it, and this theatre has replaced the Arclight (which makes me sad, but sometime in the last couple of years, Arclight stopped enforcing the shut the fuck up and turn you goddamn phone off policy that had made it such an attractive destination for me for so long).

I’ve really wanted to see Star Trek Into Darkness, but I had resigned myself to not seeing it until it was available to watch in the comfort of my own home … until Stepto, e, and my friend Jen all told me about the existence of a theatre that was actually enjoyable, instead of wall-to-wall bullshit advertising and people who have such little respect for the movies and the rest of the people in the audience, they belong at the gathering of the Juggalos instead of in a movie house. When I saw that one of these theatres was not only nearby but was also showing Star Trek Into Darkness, I looked at my schedule, gave myself an afternoon off, and took my entire family to see it.

Chris Bosh to Heat fans who left Game 6 early: ‘Don’t come back for Game 7′

Chances are you've heard about the Miami Heat fans who decided to get an early start on their commute when the San Antonio Spurs held a 94-89 lead with 28 seconds remaining in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night. Chances are you've also heard that rumors of the Heat's demise were greatly exaggerated, as a headband-less LeBron James and a pure-from-the-corner Ray Allen authored enough late-game magic to push the game to overtime, where the Heat held on for a 103-100 win that guaranteed a deciding Game 7 for the 2013 NBA championship on Thursday night.

Heat center Chris Bosh played a major role in the comeback win, playing sensational defense in the late stages, grabbing the offensive rebound that led to Allen's corner 3-pointer and coming up with two huge blocks, including one on a last-ditch try by Spurs sharpshooter Danny Green, to seal the victory. And at the Heat's Wednesday practice, the All-Star center didn't mince his words when asked about those who took an early powder from AmericanAirlines Arena when the chips were down:

I’m also, at the same time, shooting a little indie film here in New York, called The Girl in the Book, which I’m really passionate about and super-excited about, directed by Marya Cohn,” she told VF Daily. “And then back to Revenge as soon as I’m done. It’s been a little bit of a crazy summer.”
(The indie movie VanCamp is referencing must really be a passion project—it even has a Kickstarter page.)

She insists that Samuel L. Jackson, who is known to have his intimidating moments, was very nice and funny on the Captain America set. But she said being in a blockbuster was a bit overwhelming. “It was a very intimidating situation,” she said. “So many incredible actors. It was nice that they were all really sweet to me.”

nervous Niall, Niall Horan

DanRad shades Harry Styles' tattoos, but wants some of his own.

Daniel Radcliffe is currently the owner of a body unblemished by ink - but that could all be about to change as he's revealed that he'd love to get tatted up.
We vote for a MASSIVE Hippogriff on his chest. And possibly a snitch on his bum. Hashtag just saying.

Talking to Now magazine about skin art of the permanant variety, Danny boy said: "I've always liked tattoos. I think they look great and when they're done well (take note 1D minus Niall) they're really, really cool."
However, it seems that one person's tatts who don't fall into Dan's 'really, really cool' category is a certain Mister Harry Styles, whose numerous inkings he labelled 'prison tattoos' - despite the fact he's, erm, never actually seen them.
Informed by Capital FM Breakfast show hosts Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon that Hazbot has two swallows, a giant butterfly and various other designs etched into his chest, Daniel asked: "[Are they] like prison tattoos? Isn't that what you have when you've done five years?" (lol irl)

Only if the curly haired lovebot was imprisoned for being FAR TOO GORGEOUS, DanRad.
Radders (wtf is this nickname?) also joked about plans for his own artwork, quipping: "I kind of want to end up like Guy Pearce from Memento. That's the ideal, just lots of words and shopping lists and stuff."
As long as we get to inspect each inking oh-so-closely after it's done, we really don't mind what you get Daniel. What do you lot think about all this?

Pretty Little Liars Cast Member Joins PTA's Inherent Vice

“Pretty Little Liars”‘ mysterious and manipulative “A” is traveling to drug-fueled 1970s Los Angeles for Paul Thomas Anderson’s adaptation of “Inherent Vice.” We have learned that ABC Family series star Sasha Pieterse is in final negotiations for the Joaquin Phoenix-led film, and is joining an all-star cast that also includes Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Josh Brolin, Martin Short and fellow newcomer Katherine Waterston.

Phoenix plays Larry “Doc” Sportello, a pothead/private investigator who’s paid a visit by his ex-girlfriend Shasta (Waterston) with concerns that there may be a plot to harm her new boyfriend, a rich businessman. Soon enough both of them go missing and Doc encounters a large, colorful cast of characters in his quest to track them down. Wilson is reported to be playing the key role of Coy Harlingen, who appears to have died in a drug overdose but is very much a part of the entire twisty turvy story, while Brolin is taking the role of Bigfoot, the police investigator on the case with secrets of his own. We believe Pieterse is taking the role of Japonica Fenway, a teen runaway that had initially been reported to be played by Jena Malone. It’s unclear if Malone has taken a different role or was replaced. Filming on the adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon is now underway in Los Angeles.

South African singer and actress Pieterse got her big break when she landed the role of Alison DiLaurentis on ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” in 2008. The mystery of Alison’s murder kicked off the premise of the show, though of course she turns out to be alive, paving the way for Pieterse to appear in almost every episode of the show, now in its fourth season. Pieterse has also appeared on NBC series “Heroes” and had a bit part in “X-Men: First Class.”

New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez Questioned In Murder Investigation & Sued By Another Man

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is caught in the middle of a homicide investigation of an "associate," is also being sued by a former friend who claims Hernandez shot his eye out after the two left a Miami strip club. The suit states that Hernandez "possessed a gun which he was not legally licensed to have."

In a lawsuit filed in federal court on June 13, attorneys representing Alexander Bradley, 32, said that their client, Hernandez and several others were at Tootsie's strip club in Miami on Feb. 13 when Bradley and Hernandez got into an argument. The group then left the club, and while driving towards Palm Beach, Fla., Hernandez's gun discharged inside the vehicle. "It fired, and a bullet went through my client's arm and blew out his right eye," attorney David Jaroslawicz told ABCNews.com. "It has been enucleated -- replaced with a prosthetic eye. He has also lost use of his right arm." The lawyer said that "to my knowledge" no charges were filed as a result of the shooting.

A spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department said, "The Miami-Dade Police Department does not have any documented incident on record. We will continue to research the incident, and as with any developing situation, the details may change."

Paris Jackson: My Nanny Snuck into Michael Jackson's Bed

Looking poised and confident, Paris Jackson smiled, laughed and joked with lawyers deposing her in the billion dollar wrongful death lawsuit of her late father Michael — just months before she attempted suicide.

RadarOnline.com has exclusively obtained the videotaped interrogation held on March 21 which was played to the jury hearing the case in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday afternoon. You can watch the video below.

The 15-year-old heir to the Jackson fortune — who slashed her wrists and was rushed to hospital on June 5 — was questioned under oath about her former nanny, Grace Rwaramba.

“You’re going to get creeped out… no joke,” the jovial teenager told lawyers representing concert promoter AEG, as she recounted how the King of Pop had told her that he didn’t like Rwaramba, who she said was “obsessed” with her father.

James Franco: "I don't have a huge emotional attachment to the Spider-Man franchise as a subject."

James Franco was not necessarily a fan of "The Amazing Spider-Man." In a new piece for Vice, Franco -- who played Harry Osborn in three "Spider-Man" films for director Sam Raimi -- wrote that the 2012 Spider-Man reboot was made "before there was time to bury the corpse of the old one and enshroud it in the haze of nostalgia."

The reason "The Amazing Spider-Man" exists, according to Franco, is money.

Heather Locklear and Chelsea Handler Talk Semen as Beauty Product

Heather Locklear recently joked to paparazzi that a little semen on her face is what keeps her from looking her age.

On Tuesday's Chelsea Lately, the 51-year-old actress laughingly explained why she claimed "semen" was her secret for looking young.

"I liked your answer—when somebody asked how you stay looking so young, you said...," Chelsea Handler started.

"Semen!" Locklear interjected with a grin. "Which isn't true!"

"Well, I mean I think it might be true somewhere," she clarified. "But we walked out of a restaurant and the paparazzi are there…"

"So now, all over the Internet, it says you use semen to stay looking so young," Handler said of the quippy answer Locklear gave the photographers.

Handler then added, "By the way, there are products that have semen in them—and I'm, like, why would I need to buy that?"

Idk tbh. I'm just bored and wanted an excuse for a beauty post.

Iggy Azalea talks Tupac, Depression Growing Up, Dad Leaving Her, Cleaning Job with Mom

Exclusive in-depth interview with Iggy Azalea. In part 4 Iggy talks to Nick Huff Barili about how she fell in love with Hip Hop listening to Tupac's Baby Don't Cry at age 12 and how she used to be obsessed with rap lyrics, making sure her and her friends were saying the right words. Her first attempt at writing rhymes was to impress a boy letting him know that he was the silver lining of her life. Iggy says that she felt very alone growing up in Australia because her parents had a bad relationship. In 5th grade her father left her a note at school saying he had left her which was the beginning of her isolation from people around her. Iggy was scared of her father growing up but now that she is older she gets him and they get a long well. Iggy shares that she was very depressed growing up and that music was the only thing that kept her going. Iggy had a lot of jobs to save money which included working at a supermarket, at a record store (before she got fired for stealing an Ashanti single) and cleaning houses with her Mom. Her Mom gave her $200 to go to a recording studio to record her first song, which meant a lot to Iggy because she knew how hard her Mom worked to get that money. Ultimately working with her Mom helped Iggy appreciate her Mom even more and brought them closer.

Miss Utah creates answer better

In the wake of a Q&A flub at Sunday’s Miss USA pageant that went viral, Miss Utah got a shot at redemption on TODAY Tuesday.

Marissa Powell, 21, earned some unwanted attention after a puzzling response to a question about women continuing to earn less than men.

“I think we can relate this back to education and how we are continuing to try to strive to figure out how to create jobs right now,’’ she replied at the pageant. “That’s the biggest problem and I think, especially the men are, um, seen as the leaders of this and so we need to try to figure out how to create education better so that we can solve this problem. Thank you.”

When Matt Lauer asked the question, Powell fared better.

“This is not OK,’’ she said. “It needs to be equal pay for equal work. It’s hard enough already to earn a living, and it shouldn’t be harder just because you’re a woman.”

Powell, who was the pageant's third runner-up, said anxiety got the better of her on Sunday night.

“I was so excited, and I was so nervous, and I got up to this top-five question,’’ she said. “I was the first one. I got up, and the question was a little bit confusing to me, and I just started speaking without really processing.’’

The winner of the Miss USA contest, Miss Connecticut Erin Brady, 25, who was standing right behind Powell, told TODAY she understands the nerve-wracking pressure.

“You’re nervous for her because you know that in a matter of seconds, that can be you,’’ Brady said. “You’re going to have a similar question. You are in front of millions of people.”

Lol at them asking her the complete question again, then clapping for her pre-prepared response. Yikes. More secondhand embarrassment imo. I thought she was likeable enough though.

Ian Somerhalder might be dating Malese Jow.

Slowly but surely the truth always manages to come out, doesn’t it? The Vampire Diaries fans have watched their beloved Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev’s relationship totally crumble over the last five months with little explanation. Not that the general public really deserves an explanation, but of course the curiosity factor has been huge and if you’ve kept an eye on Nina Dobrev’s Twitter there have been plenty of clues as to the real situation. Back in April Celeb Dirty Laundry was the first to give you tweets from Nina looking for an apology and it was pretty obvious at the time that she had been wronged or cheated on by her former flame. Since then we have seen Ian step out with a series of random chicks while Nina is still taking care of herself rather than jumping back into the dating game. The real story has a way of eventually seeping out and that’s kind of what happened when Ian and his TVD co-star, Malese Jow showed up together in Germany for BloodyCon 2013. Sure they could simply be good friends and all but the PDA was a bit extreme and the Instagram photos look a little too cozy. If that didn’t raise enough eyebrows then maybe Malese Tweeting her undying love for Ian kind of sealed the deal.

Is Malese what came between Ian and Nina? Some of the photos that popped up sure make them look a whole lot closer than coworkers. Also if Ian cheated with a co-star that might explain why everyone refused to comment on the status of things until the season wrapped up. Dating a costar is one thing but banging a side dish that you also work with equals a whole lot of negativity, don’t you think?
