Benicio Del Toro Will Counsel Joaquin Phoenix in ‘Inherent Vice’

The screen adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's 2009 gumshoe novel "Inherent Vice" looks to officially be Paul Thomas Anderson's next project as Benicio Del Toro has signed on to join "The Master" star Joaquin Phoenix for the tale of crime, corruption and double/triple/quadruple-crosses.

"Inherent Vice" follows the exploits of Larry 'Doc' Sportello (Phoenix), a down-and-out Los Angeles private dick and pothead who receives a surprise visit from his ex-girlfriend, Shasta Fay Hepworth, who's now the mistress of real estate mogul Mickey Wolfmann. Shasta asks Doc's help in foiling a plot conjured by Wolfmann's wife, Sloane, and her lover, Riggs Warbling, to have Mickey thrown in the loony bin. Complications ensue (to say the least) against the backdrop of the arrest and trial of the Manson Family from the winter of 1969 through the summer of 1970.

Stalking Post: Weirdest Things Celebrity Stalkers Have Claimed + Led Zep Gets Restraining Order

MODS, I made this list myself. It's an ONTD original.
Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant got a restraining order today. The stalker - who is named in official documents as Alysson Billings - has apparently been stalking Plant for three years, as she believes they are in a relationship, but the behaviour has become more dangerous since Plant started dating folk musician Patty Griffin. Some of the messages from Billings say, "your betrayal with another woman still stabs my mind," and "I’m telling you that rotten crotch is ruining you."

Another message reads, "This woman is literally evil for you and your life. You are about to fall for that dirty old crotch. And I’m not joking, I cannot, will not, shall not live this way any more." I'm guessing you could say that the fan is... Dazed and confused.

She is not the first to spout malicious crap, however, and is far from the first to make demands from a celebrity. Occasionally, some 'celebrities' will turn into stalkers themselves. For example, just today also, The man who voiced Charlie Brown faces prison time for stalking and threatening his ex-girlfriend, because she did not give back his car and dog.

Thus, let us take a look at the weirdest things celebrity stalkers have claimed.

"Biggest Loser" loses one of its love connections

Biggest Loser Couple Sam Poueu & Stephanie Anderson Split Up - with Baby on the Way.

Nobody is winning in this situation.

Biggest Loser stars Sam Poueu and Stephanie Anderson have separated - two months before their first child is due.

"It is with great sadness that my marriage to Sam Poueu is ending," Anderson tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. "Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy during this difficult time."

The two, who met on the hit NBC show's season 9 and wed in April 2012, are in the process of divorcing - but no papers have been filed yet. Poueu, 28, proposed to Anderson, 33, during a special episode of the Biggest Loser in 2010. Before their wedding, he suffered serious injuries after a fall from the roof of a four story building in 2011 and spent nine months in recovery. Shortly after, he admitted to Anderson that "he wanted to have children and grow old with me," she said at the time.

The couple announced in January that they were expecting; they'll welcome a baby boy in July.

I know there's some other Biggest Loser fans/watchers on ONTD. This makes me sad cause they seemed cute together. I wonder if it was cheating, cause usually pregnant woman don't divorce the father of their children over just anything, especially after they managed to survive through his accident/rehab...

Alicia Vikander to star in Guy Ritchie's "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." and "Ex-Machina"

Rising Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is in negotiations for the female lead opposite Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer in Warner Bros.’ Man from U.N.C.L.E. movie.

Ritchie is on board to direct the adaptation of the classic 1960s TV series which followed the spy adventures of American agent Napoleon Solo and Soviet agent Illya Kuryakin. Cruise is playing Solo while Hammer is playing Kuryakin. Vikander will play a British agent who has a thing for cars. The character did not appear in the TV series nor the short-lived spin-off, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., and is a new creation.

Lionel Wigram and John Davis are producing. Vikander appeared with Keira Knightley in Joe Wright’s adaptation of Anna Karenina and in the foreign-language drama "A Royal Affair, which led to work in several American productions. She will soon be seen alongside Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in WB/Legendary's "The Seventh Son." The Swedish actress just wrapped the indie movie "Son of a Gun" with Ewan McGregor and Bill Condon's Dreamworks drama "The Fifth Estate," which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange.

Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder Break Up!!!

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's showmance is over. The Vampire Diaries costars, who play Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore on the CW hit series, have called it quits after more than three years of dating, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.

The couple, who first took their romance public in 2011, are "consummate professionals," the insider says, and "will continue to work together and remain best friends, which is where the relationship started."

Last fall, Dobrev opened up to Seventeen magazine about falling for Somerhalder. "I didn't want to be dating one of my costars -- my goal on the show was to be professional," she admitted. "But sometimes you can't help who you have a connection with, and you can only fight it for so long -- which I did for a really, really long time."

The Vampire Diaries is currently in its fourth season on the CW. In February, the network renewed the supernatural drama for a fifth season. Filming will begin later this year; in the meantime, Dobrev, 24, will spend the summer shooting the Fox movie Let's Be Cops, which also stars New Girl's Jake Johnson and Happy Endings' Damon Wayans Jr.

Reps for the actors declined to comment on the split.

Spice Girls 'split'

The Spice Girls reportedly decided to retire in a conference call ten days ago.

The British group had planned to embark on a world tour in 2014, but after Victoria Beckham ruled herself out of the shows, the remaining bandmates were apparently forced to rethink their future together. According to British newspaper The Mirror, Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell made the decision to retire in a conference call ten days ago. It seems they were worried they would struggle to sell tickets and merchandise without Victoria.

“Led by Geri, the girls had been plotting a world tour as a four-piece band, culminating in a final night at Wembley Stadium. The other girls had been initially up for it but once they started having meetings they realised the capital wasn’t there,” a source told the publication. “They also feared a general apathy from the public if Posh wasn’t in the fray, leading to dates not selling out. “Victoria’s obviously a big pull when it comes to the fans and she also guarantees press coverage.”

Geri, Mel C and Emma are believed to have discussed the matter further when they recently attended a fancy dress birthday bash in the UK. Although they had been eager to tour again, they weren’t sure if they could pull it off without Victoria – whose connections in the industry proved invaluable when they last hit the road.

“Although they all desperately wanted to do it, they couldn’t take the risk of it being a flop – the Spice Girls could only ever go out on a high,” the source added. “On the last tour Victoria cut a huge amount of costs by getting sponsors, organising the designers to sort the outfits and she even persuaded Jacko and Madonna’s choreographer Jamie King to get involved.”

If the rumours are true, this hasn’t been the best month for the group. It was recently revealed that their West End musical show Viva Forever! is to close after failing to impress when it debuted in December last year.

In recent years each band member has carved out a solo career, with Victoria running a successful fashion empire, Emma landing a radio show, Mel C continuing to release music, while Mel B and Geri are both judges on TV talent shows.

This Week in Fuck Moffat: John Hurt Confirms Our Worst Fears About His Doctor Who Character

Veteran actor John Hurt has revealed some intriguing details about his role in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special.

Speaking to the Eastern Daily Press, the 73-year-old revealed that he plays “part of the Doctor” in a “kind of trinity” which includes David Tennant.

Hurt had previously remained tight-lipped about his role in the episode, set to be aired in November – although he looked to be dressed in historical attire [ed: I guess 2005 is ancient history now -- do your research, man] when snapped on set at Chepstow Castle in Wales last month.

“I’m sworn to secrecy about my character and my scenes,” the Alien star barely revealed to the Telegraph at the time.

Bringing up Bobby marks the directorial debut of former X-Men star Famke Janssen. What Culture had a chat with the beautiful Dutch actress recently ahead of the film’s DVD release next week – we’ll have the full interview up for you in a little while – and inevitably talk turned to the X-Men franchise.

We asked Janssen what it was like watching a franchise she was initially part of evolve without her, since any rumoured cameo is yet to be unveiled as part of Bryan Singer’s pre-release marketing campaign…

“I think that the X-Men series is a really successful one in constantly finding new and additional characters, or younger versions of the same characters to explore. Of course the X-Men as a comic book has so many characters that filmmakers can explore. I like what they’re doing. I think that they’ve always chosen really fine actors.

With X-Men: First Class you had Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy so it’s amazing the kind of actors they keep getting for these. It’s a classy series so I’m proud to be a part of it”.

Was that last line a hint that she continues to be a part?

However, while she mostly remained tight-lipped on her involvement in this summer’s release The Wolverine, she did give a little detail that confirmed the nature of her appearance and settled some rumours. The trailer for The Wolverine features a brief glimpse of her Jean Grey, prompting some fans to speculate on her rise from the grave, but it seems that isn’t the case, as Janssen confirmed:

“I couldn’t tell you [how much I’m in it]. It’s a flashback sequence, but that’s all I can say. You’ll just have to wait until July!”

Shemar Moore reveals he begged Criminal Minds writers not to make him a stereotypical tough guy

Criminal Minds star Shemar Moore has revealed he begged the show's writers not to make him just a stereotypical tough guy.

The actor plays FBI agent Derek Morgan in the crime drama, a criminal profiler who had a troubled childhood and was a victim of child abuse.

Shemar revealed: "I wouldn't want him to be squeaky clean. I begged the writers in the beginning when the show first started. I said I don't just want to be the tough guy who kicks down the doors.

"Because as fun as it is to play action, and say 'Baby girl this' and 'baby girl that', I didn't want to be one note.

"So because I'm the tough guy of the group, I'm the one with the muscles, so I wanted him to have some flaws and some weaknesses or some vulnerabilities, because that's what makes somebody interesting.

"I love being the bad a** but what I find more interesting is when you can deal with his conscience, and what's important to him, and what scares him and what overwhelms him, and all that justifies the way he is."

Shemar also joked that he can't understand why all the show's writers aren't in therapy because they come up with such dark storylines for the criminals.

He said: "They got creepy stuff going on in their head! But we take a really dark creepy world and are still able to mix in compassion, knowledge, education so that once you're scared and entertained by us, once the show goes off, you feel better about the life you have.

"No matter how bad your life might be, it's not as bad as the life going on on that screen."

Official: The MDNA Tour wil premiere on EPIX on June 22 FINALLY!!!

Premium network EPIX will premiere Madonna’s MDNA tour – an EPIX Original Concert Event – on June 22 at 8:00 pm ET. One of the most spectacular and controversial extravaganzas of 2012, Madonna: the MDNA Tour was filmed primarily in Miami as well as other locations. The MDNA Tour was the most successful and highest grossing tour of 2012 and was seen by over 2.2 million Madonna fans during the course of the 88 sold-out shows around the globe. The concert includes performances of several of her biggest hits including “Vogue”, “Like A Prayer” and “Hung Up.” She also performs songs from her MDNA album including “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” “Girl Gone Wild”, “Gang Bang” and “Turn Up the Radio.” The album debuted at No.1 in over 30 countries. Madonna, along with her seven member band, outstanding troupe of 27 dancers (all clothed in 1500 costumes) and state of the art visuals and sound electrified crowds around internationally with what the Material Girl termed “the hardest but most thrilling and challenging show I’ve ever done.”

In describing the show’s intent, Madonna concluded…

My show is a journey… the journey of a soul from darkness to light. It is part cinematic musical theatre – part spectacle and sometimes intimate performance art. It is journey from anger to love and from chaos to order. There are good guys and bad guys to help illustrate this point. Sometimes I play both. It must be watched with an open heart from beginning to end. I am sure if it is viewed this way, you will walk away feeling inspired, invigorated and will want to make the world a better place.

EPIX CEO and President Mark Greenberg commented…

Madonna’s stunning musical performance and show-stopping moves continue to prove that she is truly a timeless entertainer. We launched the EPIX network with Madonna’s previous tour, Sticky and Sweet, premiering the concert the first night that EPIX was on air. We are very excited to have her back on the network.

The MDNA Show was directed by Danny Tull and Stephane Sennour. Tull has worked with Madonna editing the Confessions tour, the Sticky & Sweet Tour and more.

Madonna's MDNA Tour grossed $305.2 million dollars, the ninth highest of all time and the second highest among female artists, second only to her own Sticky & Sweet Tour of 2008.

Simon Pegg Does Kimmel; Tells Jimmy About The Trek Cast's Epic Prank On The Cumberface

"We were having lunch, me and Chris Pine and Benedict, and Benedict said, 'I'm really sorry about that, earlier this morning, I kept getting it wrong...I think I was tired, and the ions in the air were getting to me.' But it was like, no! Nooo, they weren't. He was in so deep, he believed it so much he was starting to get a headache....we wrote out this little form that he had to fill in saying, 'I, Benedict Cumberbatch, hereby accept that I must wear the topical emollient neutron cream, and also accept that it is a completely fictitious thing and I am an idiot,' right? So we give him the form. He reads the form. He SIGNS IT, and he gives it back to production. And we're like, 'well, what do we do now?'

Pierce Brosnan in line for lead role in upcoming mermaid film

Pierce Brosnan
could be headed for the throne to play King Louis XIV in fantasy-adventure The Moon And The Sun.

The former Bond star is set to portray the French leader alongside rising Chinese actress Fan Bingbing in the big-screen adaptation of Vonda McIntyre's novel, reported Screen Daily.

The film, which will be directed by Sean McNamara, follows the French king's reign in the late 1700s, as he tries to capture and steal the life force from a mermaid (played by Fan) in a bid for immortality.

Complications arise when the Sun King's 18-year-old illegitimate daughter Marie-Josephe falls for the mermaid's keeper and risks everything trying to set him and the mythical creature free.

Barry Berman, James Schamus and Laura Harrington have adapted the book, and the film is set to be pitched to potential international buyers at the Cannes Film Festival this month.

On-Demand Streams Now Count Toward RIAA Gold & Platinum

In an uncommon move to tinker with the formula used to certify Gold and Platinum awards, the Recording Industry Association of America on Thursday announced it has started to incorporate on-demand streams towards its calculations for certifying the prestigious awards.

The change, only the fifth major alteration in the methodology since the inception of the program in 1958, is meant to recognize how important digital distribution has become and how technology has permanently altered the way people access music.

The last time the RIAA altered its methodology was in 2006, when it added master ringtones. Two years before that, the organization began counting digital downloads. And prior to that, CDs and cassette tapes were added to the mix. Otherwise, the formula for Gold and Platinum certifications remained largely untouched -- 500,000 unit sales for Gold, 1 million for Platinum and 10 million for Diamond.

People Don't Recognize Beyoncé In Ads Unless She's Blonde

H&M TV Ads Feature Singer as a Blonde And Brunette; Study Shows One Performed Much Better

Blondes may or may not have more fun, but at least in the case of Beyonce, blonde makes for a more popular ad.

Last week H&M rolled out two ads [below] featuring the pop star. In one, her hair is blond and she's wearing a swimsuit, in the other it's brunette and she's wearing a revealing dress. Both ads feature the same song and similar dance routines.

The ad featuring Beyonce as a blonde scored significantly better with consumers, and 16% of consumers mentioned the singer by name, according to research from AceMetrix. In contrast, in the ad featuring Beyonce as a brunette, attention scores were lower and only 7% of consumers referenced the singer by name. Of course, it could be that the Beyonce in a bikini outperforms Beyonce in a wet, clinging dress.

The 37 year old pop star also appeared as a blonde in an ad for Pepsi recently. But whereas the H&M ads appealed to both women and men, the Pepsi ad generally scored better with women, according to AceMetrix, leaving men unimpressed.

Criminal Minds renewed for 9th Season

"Criminal Minds" has been renewed for a ninth season on CBS.

The drama follows the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), focusing on the people who commit the most horrific crimes. Starring Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna, Shemar Moore, Matthew Gray Gubler and, most recently, Jeanne Tripplehorn, has gone through several high-profile cast shake-ups over the last eight seasons, but the ratings have remained high.

"Criminal Minds" made headlines when negotiations with the cast for Season 9 went down to the wire. A representative for CBS confirmed the entire cast including A.J. Cook and Kirsten Vangsness will return for Season 9.

The ratings for Season 8 dipped a bit, which is to be expected that far along in a series, but the show still averages over 12.5 million viewers.

"Criminal Minds" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.

Scarface Look-Alike Screams Movie Quotes During Machete Standoff

A knife-wielding man dressed up as Tony Montana from the 1983 classic "Scarface" taunted police during a real-life standoff in L.A. ... and stayed in character the entire time, TMZ has learned.

It all went down at an apartment complex in Hollywood around 10pm Tuesday night -- cops were called to the scene to respond to a man wearing a Tony Montana-style white suit (with the big pimped-out collar) who began screaming at people while waving a machete.

When cops arrived, a police negotiator tried to convince the man to surrender peacefully -- but he responded by screaming various quotes from "Scarface" ... while pointing to a DVD copy of the movie he was carrying in his non-machete hand.

Sources at the scene tell us the Tony-alike taunted police by calling them, "f**king cops" ... and threatening to cut them.

Charles Xavier on set of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Bryan Singer earlier today tweeted the first look at James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier in the forthcoming X-sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Hey, they did warn you this movie was going to take place in the ’70s.

Xavier isn’t the clean-cut kid we’ve come to expect from previous iterations here, although whether that’s how he’ll look onscreen or it’s just a wardrobe and chair fitting for McAvoy won’t be clear until we start seeing footage coming back. Singer acknowledged as much, adding a “Serpico” hashtag to the image, a reference to the classic 1973 crime drama in which Al Pacino wore a beard.

The Most Embarrassing Movies We Saw With Our Moms

In honor of Mother’s Day this weekend, the Flavorwire staff is looking back on some of the more uncomfortable moments we had with our moms. Whether they refused to go shopping after buying us the tickets to the R-rated movies we desperately wanted to see, or they felt they were progressive enough to expose us to enlightening subject matter as long as they guided us along themselves, some of our moms willingly shared incredibly unsettling cinematic moments with us. Come along as we take a trip down memory lane and dig up the movies we wish we hadn’t sat through with our mothers.

American Beauty

At some point around the end of elementary school or the beginning of middle school, I started refusing to go to the movies with my parents, for the obvious pre-adolescent reasons. But, throughout high school, I would make exceptions if I judged us to be far enough away from any place where I might be spotted by a classmate. And that is how, one evening in the fall of 1999, I ended up accompanying them to American Beauty. In 2013, what most people will remember about this film is its middlebrow critique of middle-class America, and maybe that one awful moment with the plastic bag. Perhaps it’s no coincidence that what’s burned into my memory is the excruciating scene in which Annette Bening’s Carolyn, the archetypal suburban mom, indulges in surprisingly athletic, explicit extramarital sex with Peter Gallagher’s Buddy Kane. We talked a lot about the death of the American Dream in the car home that night, but that one particular moment (or Kevin Spacey fantasizing about his teenage daughter’s friend) never came up. — Judy Berman, Editor-in-Chief

Yes! It was a given, but he didn't officially sign until today. The videos of his "reaction" and thank you to the fans can be found on the Kickstarter page. They're private YouTube links.

I'm so happy with Rico is signed on. The Veronica/Keith dynamic is integral for the movie to succeed. I think that's why I didn't care for the FBI Season 4 Pitch (that now NEVER happened thankfully). So now four people signed officially (Kristen, Jason, Rico, and "the waiter"). I'm sure Percy, Francis and Ryan are next. Francis hinted that much on his birthday and Percy kind of tweeted about it also. :)

Robert Downey Jr. Won't Be Back for Iron Man 4 But Will Probably Return for The Avengers 2 and 3

Actor Robert Downey Jr. held a private dinner in Los Angeles last night to celebrate the success of Iron Man 3, but also to begin negotiations for The Avengers 2 and The Avengers 3. While the actor is open to returning for the Marvel Phase Two and Three sequels to 2012's Marvel's The Avengers, he does not want to return for the potential stand-alone adventure Iron Man 4.

Back in April, it was reported that the actor wanted to "retire" his Tony Stark character, but he didn't leave a timetable as to when he wanted to do so. Iron Man 3 was the last movie that Robert Downey Jr. was obligated to do, under his current contract with Marvel Studios.

Bringing Robert Downey Jr. back under a new contract will likely cost Marvel a pretty penny, since he earned an estimated $50 million from the 2012 blockbuster Marvel's The Avengers, after box office bonuses and back-end compensation. According to financial analyst Doug Creutz, the actor's departure could be just as costly.

"It would be a definite negative for that particular franchise. He is Tony Stark. The other individual franchises -- Thor, Captain America, Hulk -- etc., don't have near the level of box-office potential that Iron Man does. The other way to look at it is that Iron Man would probably look more like those other franchises in terms of box-office performance without Downey."

Alison Moyet Set For Top 5 Debut With Critically Acclaimed New Electronica Album

The last time Moyet hit the top 5 was back in the 1980s. The album currently sits at #3 in the mid-week UK charts.

"the minutes", Alison Moyet's first album of new material in 6 years returns her to her electronic dance roots. The album was co-produced by Guy Sigsworth (Madonna, Robyn, Bjork). The album's back story also serves as a sort of feminist, anti-ageist, and 'artistic integrity' statement. Moyet was being forced by her previous record label into joining reality shows if she wanted her album to be released. "I don't think that me going and getting pissed on telly and getting my tits out is gonna make anyone look at my art." She gave them the finger, and headed on her way last year. She took the finished album to label, Cooking Vinyl. The label was told to 'take it or leave it.' The label loved it, and signed her. Moyet wanted to make an album that middle-aged women aren't suppose to make. They're suppose to only do safe 'jazz covers albums.'

Ed Sheeran defends his friend Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's love life has been the subject of public ridicule recently, with many high-profile women mocking the singer.

Tina Fey advised Swift to take a break from dating: "She needs some 'me time' to learn about herself". Joan Rivers compared the 23-year-old's love life to the distances she and her daughter travel for their various TV commitments: "Taylor Swift's knees have been together more than Melissa and I."

Chelsea Handler joked: "She's just dated so many men. My theory about Taylor Swift is that she's a virgin, that everyone breaks up with her because they date her for two weeks and she's like, 'I'm not gonna do it.' And they're like, 'Oh, well, forget it. Then I don't want to date you. Every guy thinks they're going to devirginize her, and they're not. She's never going to get devirginized, ever, ever, ever, ever."

However, Swift's friend, tourmate and musical collaborator Ed Sheeran insists that the tales of Swift's love life are exaggerated, and admits that he feels protective of the singer.

The rumor that she dates a lot of people is a misconception, because in the time that I’ve known her, which has been almost two years now, she has dated two people. Fact. And in her entire life, I think she’s dated around five or six people. I don’t like when people take shots at her because I do know her personally, and I think people get the wrong end of the stick,” he said.

“She’s so successful, and she’s so nice and sweet to everyone that she meets. There is nothing bad to say [except that] she was being pictured with a lot of dudes. I mean, I have female friends at home, who would not have the same reputation as Taylor in the media, that have been with ten times more people than her."

Since they met two years ago, Taylor and Ed have been inseparable. “It started off very strong,” the English-born singer-songwriter says. “We started off instant friends, and it’s been that since then. I think it would be incredibly unprofessional and idiotic for me to [date Taylor].” he says. “To go on tour for six months with someone and hook up with them just before you go out on tour, which is what people think we did—that’s just a really silly thing to do, because the tour would be very awkward by now, and it’s not, so that’s that.”

Kim Kardashian Gets Kropped Out of Vogue‘s Met Gala Slideshow

Even when it’s cropped out of a picture, Kim Kardashian’s meme-mongering floral Givenchy Met Gala dress is causing controversy.

The latest commotion centers around‘s slideshow of the event’s 77 best dressed guests which–lo!–did not include Kardashian. It did, however, spotlight Kardashian’s date and baby daddy Kanye West (also wearing Givenchy) for his exemplary sartorial prowess. Which, you know, is totally at its discretion to do.

Except Jezebel noticed yesterday that Kardashian’s absence from the slideshow was more intentional than it maybe needed to be. Yep–Kimmy got kropped. West’s photo (number 66 of 77) is notably slimmer than the rest. Furthermore, his right hand appears to be clutching a floral glove… extending from a couch? (Kidding! We’re totally kidding.) All other couples, including but not limited to Lindsey Vonn and her charming boyfriend Tiger Woods, remain intact in their slides.

Looks like bets are off on Kardashian getting a naked pregnancy spread in Vogue after all…

Tom Hardy 'comforted' by Noomi Rapace after marriage to Charlotte Riley is put on hold

When Tom Hardy played Heathcliff to Charlotte Riley’s Cathy in ITV's adaptation of Wuthering Heights in 2009, their passion continued off screen and the pair were soon engaged. Sadly, the actors’ love story seems to have come to no more of a happy ending than that of Emily Brontë’s characters.

Mandrake hears that the couple's wedding has been put on hold. It is said that Hardy, 35, who played Bane in the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises, is being comforted by Noomi Rapace, the 33-year-old star of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

CW Renews 'The Carrie Diaries,' 'Nikita'

Despite lackluster ratings, the "Sex and the City" prequel will see a second season, with the Maggie Q entry also returning.

The CW has renewed its two remaining bubble shows, giving additional seasons to both The Carrie Diaries and Nikita.

One season shy of the 88-episode mark needed for syndication, the Maggie Q starrer from Warner Bros. Television has a small but vocal base of dedicated fans to the tune of 1.1 million viewers on Fridays and 0.3 in the adults 18-49 metric. However, as with several other of the CW's series, Nikita has a strong afterlife on Hulu, where it continues to bring in new eyeballs for the youth-skewing network. The series will continue on for a fourth season.

The Carrie Diaries

The heralded Sex and the City prequel from Amy B. Harris arrived for a midseason bow with much fanfare but the AnnaSophia Robb '80s-set series didn't make the splash the network had hoped for. Despite praise from critics, the 13-episode effort ended its run averaging a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 1.1 million total viewers. However, thanks to the CW's five-year, $75 million Hulu deal, Carrie will continue on for a second season. "The good news is we're No. 2 in streaming and I think in the world of The CW, they know that's the future," Harris told The Hollywood Reporterfollowing April's season finale. "Their entire advertising campaign is 'CW TV Now.' It's like get your TV now on your iPad, on your TV; they know how it's going and they have a young audience and we have an incredibly young key demo audience."

Catalogs for Fall fashion are already sitting in department stores, awaiting our eyes to bulge and knees weaken as we make mental lists of what potential frocks will make their way to our closets. If you're a big Target designer collaboration fan, here's some news for you! Since this is a limited edition line, I suggest you line up on the day it releases. Mark your calendars!

On the press release page, Lim says: “Since an early age, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of design evolution. The line will include more than 100 items with a nice price range between $20 and $300 being the most expensive, but a majority of those items will be available at just under $50. Looking at the designer's website, the retail prices for a corded t-shirt will set you back $750, with dresses ranging from $450 to $850. You'll be saving hundreds of dollars on Lim's designs come this September at your Target store.

Will Moriarty's Introduction Send Sherlock Spiraling Out of Control?

It's the moment Sherlock Holmes fans have been waiting for since the inception of Elementary: Moriarty has arrived!

Sherlock Holmes' (Jonny Lee Miller) greatest foe made his first appearance, sort of, last week after calling Sherlock for a long overdue chat — which is an understatement. Moriarty was apparently behind the death of Sherlock's only love Irene Adler (Natalie Dormer), which sent the private eye into a drug-induced downward spiral. Heading into Thursday's episode (10/9c, CBS) and the drama's first season finale next week, hit up executive producer Rob Doherty to find out the ramifications of Moriarty's introduction and what this means for Irene Adler's arrival on the show.

We've finally (apparently) been introduced to Moriarty. What can you tell us about the final episodes?
Rob Doherty: It is a Moriarty-centric finale. The episodes that precede the finale tee up Moriarty. Again, he's not present, physically, but we're very much on his trail. It comes to our attention he may be operating in New York. The finale is really about a build to a showdown between Sherlock and Moriarty.

Get ready for the "Mother of All Secrets" reveal on HIMYM!

Brace yourself. TV's best-kept secret could be revealed in just a matter of days.

CBS released a new promo for the May 13 season finale of How I Met Your Mother during Thursday's primetime block, and by all accounts, it seems to imply that the titular mother will finally be revealed.

Says the network's distinctive voice-over guy: "You've waited. You've wondered. Now get ready for the mother of all secrets."

How I Met Your Mother has thrown more than its share of red herrings and curveballs at viewers in the past, but with season nine officially the series' last, and co-creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays hinting at a new narrative structure when the show returns in the fall, this might be the moment.

It's already known that the season eight finale takes the action to Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin's (Cobie Smulders) wedding, seen only in flash forwards up until now. And that's also the night where Ted (Josh Radnor) meets his future wife, as has been hinted for several years and coyishly shown in the recent season premiere.

The Most Interesting Madonna Lawsuit EVER

Thanks to new technology, it has become much easier to figure out the source of samples in songs. The tracing technology holds legal ramifications: Now that copyright owners of sound recordings can point to better evidence of their work being used without license, they stand a better shot of proving an infringement. What isn't clear is whether a sample so artfully hidden as to be undetectable without advanced technology is used substantially enough to trigger any liability.

One thing technology will never change is relationships in the music production business.

Witness a lawsuit over Madonna's 1990 international hit, "Vogue," which according to a lawsuit filed last year, incorporates a horn sound from a decades-old composition called "Love Break." The litigation has just taken an incredible turn with one of the defendants -- "Vogue" producer Robert "Shep" Pettibone --- saying he co-authored the plaintiff's song and further alleging that the plaintiffs worked on the defendants' song. And, in the middle of this, there's said to be a romantic relationship that factors into both the creation of and subsequent lawsuit over one of Madonna's most famous works.

VMG Salsoul is the plaintiff in the case initiated in July 2012 against Madonna, Pettibone, WB Music and others. The company has asserted ownership over "Love Break," which it says was written by Vincent Montana around 1975. The company says in its lawsuit that the sampling of its song could only become "confirmed" once technology was made available to it in 2011.

The Top 5 Leonardo DiCaprio Movies About Doomed Romances

This weekend, “The Great Gatsby,” Baz Luhrmann’s overstuffed piñata of a literary adaptation, opens everywhere (read our review). Leonardo DiCaprio stars as the mysterious mogul Jay Gatsby, with Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan, the object of his very intense desire. Anyone who has taken a freshman literature course (um, spoiler alert?) knows that the central love story of “The Great Gatsby” doesn’t exactly end well, but even more alarming is the fact that within the career of Mr. DiCaprio this seems to be what a therapist would describe as “a definite pattern.” Over the years Leo has been embroiled in a quite shocking array of cinematic trysts that ended in absolute catastrophe.

Through nightmares and dreamscapes, historical disasters and literary classics, DiCaprio has faced an almost unrivaled myriad of doomed romances. He finds love -- fleetingly -- only to have it ripped away from him, usually in the most depressingly tragic way possible. "The Great Gatsby" is no exception. It is at least his first doomed romance in 3D, so there's that. Without further ado -- the top 5 Leonardo DiCaprio doomed romances!
