Intrtoducing: Tove Lo - The latest Swedish pop miracle

Tove is a pretty good name – Tove Jansson, Tove Styrke and now we have Tove Lo. Her new single Habits is a strong contender for best of the year so far. She combines the songwriting skills of Amanda Mair with the emotional punch of Faye and, unfortunately for those talented girls, makes them both seem quite redundant. But Tove isn’t just a random Swede who happened to make a good song – she has been working with pop legend Alexander Kronlund and current pop luminaries Icona Pop

this must be pop.

Travis Fimmel Talks VIKINGS

The History original drama series Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), an actual historical figure who was the greatest hero of his age. Telling the gripping sagas of Ragnar’s band of Viking brothers and his family, he rose to become a fearless warrior and King of the Viking tribes, and legend has it that he was a direct descendent of Odin, the god of war and warriors.

What was it like to work with this cast?
FIMMEL: The cast was amazing. Gabriel Byrne is just an amazing fellow and an amazing actor. I’m so glad that he’s on the show. Everybody is fantastic. I’m the only one that sucks on the show. The other cast was great to work with.

Alan Davies: Jonathan Creek solved the mystery of Sherlock's fall

Alan Davies reckons he knows how Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock survived his famous plunge at the end of series two finale The Reichenbach Fall – because a similar stunt was featured in an episode of Jonathan Creek.

“I know how he got away with it but I’m not telling you,” Davies told The Evening Standard. “We did a similar thing in an episode of Jonathan Creek when someone jumped off a roof at a party — that’s all I’m saying.”

The story in question was a two-parter called The Problem at Gallows Gate, which aired as part of the mystery drama’s second series in 1998.

It sees a young man leap from a second-floor balcony in front of stunned guests at a house party in the country. He’s pronounced dead at the scene and his body is taken away in an ambulance, but he’s later seen strangling a woman to death. So, clearly, his own death was faked.

How was it done? Jonathan Creek reveals all in the following clip, and we've transcribed his explanation below.

Victoria Beckham Leaving Spice Girls: My “Singing Days Are Over”

Say goodbye to Victoria Beckham the singer.

The performer has officially retired as a vocal performer, despite reported plans for the Spice Girls to reunite.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, there was speculation that the girl group would tour Australia next year, but a rep for Beckham informed us she would not be participating.

Now we’ve learned that the fashion designer is done performing forever.

“Victoria has made no secret of the fact her singing days are over, with a hugely successful business and a growing family,” her rep tells Gossip Cop.

“She loved her time as a Spice Girl,” adds the publicist, ”and will always wish the other girls well in whatever they choose to do.”

There are unconfirmed reports that the Spice Girls want to hold a reality competition show to find Beckham’s replacement.

Kenya Moore ---- "There's Still Hope for Porsha & Kordell"

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Porsha Williams can still reconcile with her estranged husband Kordell Stewart ... that is, if Porsha's willing to put in the work ... so says her co-star Kenya Moore.

Kenya was out in L.A. Tuesday when we asked if she was shocked by Kordell's divorce filing -- and she said she wasn't ... citing a huge red flag she noticed in Porsha and Kordell's relationship. But she says it's not over 'til it's over, adding, "It seems they just need to maybe iron some things out in their relationship. Maybe they could still make it work." The statistics say otherwise.

Hayden Panettiere Secretly Engaged to Wladimir Klitschko!

Hayden Panettiere and boxer Wladimir Klitschko are going the distance during round 2! The Nashville star, who reconciled with her Ukrainian boyfriend in January, is now planning their wedding, a source tells Us Weekly.

"Very few people know, and she isn't wearing her ring publicly yet," adds the friend of the duo, who first parted ways in May 2011 after two years of dating.

Since getting back together, the actress, 23, and the athlete, 37, have refused to confirm their relationship. (Despite multiple PDA-packed outings -- including a cuddly March 24 courtside appearance at a Miami Heat game -- Panettiere said they were "just good buddies" in mid-January).

Privately, however, the 5-foot-2 knockout and the 6-foot-6 heavyweight champ are eager to legalize their match. Says the source, "Looks like a summer wedding!"

Panettiere has previously dated Heroes costar Milo Ventimiglia and One Tree Hill star Stephen Colletti, but the actress admitted to Us in 2011 that she prefers dating athletes. "They're in similar circles, where they understand the schedule, the work ethic, the social aspect," she explained, "but they're not exactly in your industry, so it works out well."

Anderson Cooper, Kathy Griffin Shot Pilot For CNN

Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin have reportedly shot a pilot together.

Deadline Hollywood reported on Tuesday that the New Years Eve duo shot a pilot together on Monday for CNN, perhaps an indication that the network is interested in turning their annual special into a series. The hourlong project was taped in front of a studio audience, which featured the newly appointed CNN president Jeff Zucker.

Zucker became CNN's president in late January and said he wanted to "expand the definition of what news is" when he took on this new role. He intended on introducing more nonfiction and reality-based programming to CNN's lineup, and was reportedly looking for a late night host.

Cooper and Griffin are close friends. In addition to co-anchoring CNN's New Years Eve coverage, the two TV stars have repeatedly shared stories about staying at each other's homes over the weekend and bonding with Cooper's mom, Gloria Vanderbilt.

Cooper, who has his primetime CNN show "AC360," will no longer be hosting his daytime talk show as it was canceled during its second season. Griffin currently hosts a weekly late night talk show on Bravo.

CNN is not the only network interested in Cooper. Sony reportedly approached him to host "Jeopardy!" once Alek Trebek steps down from his post in 2016. Deadline Hollywood also reported on Tuesday that NBC approached Cooper about replacing Matt Lauer before the end of the year and co-hosting the "Today" show. Lauer signed a reported $25 million-a-year contract that expires in 2014.

“Is it possible to develop a product without this stigma, or better, one that is felt to enhance pleasure?” the Grand Challenge prompt asks. ”If so, would such a product lead to substantial benefits for global health, both in terms of reducing the incidence of unplanned pregnancies and in prevention of infection with HIV or other STIs [sexually transmitted infections]?”

Scott Disick RIPPED by Reptile Org For Alligator Murder

Scott Disick should have his legs sliced open, blood gushing, and then be fed to the gators ... that's what a Reptile Rescue Org wants ... after Scott shot an alligator in the face on a recent episode of "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami."

Mary Hart from International Reptile Rescue -- a world renowned nonprofit that's been rescuing reptiles for decades -- tells TMZ, Scott's hunting trip which aired this weekend on E! was a cruel, insensitive act.

She says, "He didn’t kill that alligator, he murdered that alligator." And she goes on: "Fairness would be to cut both his thighs so he bleeds and then toss him in a gator pond with gators small enough to rip him apart slowly and painfully."

FYI ... in the episode Scott hunted the gator (legally) in Florida ... shot at point-blank range in the head and later skinned and gutted it -- all while cameras rolled.

PETA, Tori Spelling, Shannon Elizabeth, and a slew of celebs have already slammed Scott and E! for the gator-cide ... calling it upsetting, horrible, pathetic and f****d up.

E! and Scott have yet to respond.

Love, Beyonce Style

Beyoncé and Jay-Z seem to have that high-school kinda love. Josie Pickens riffs on why we should all drink the Kool-Aid

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter brings out the giddy girl and boy in all of us. It’s why First Lady and Woman-in-Chief Michelle Obama says that if she could be anyone else, it would be Bey. We are again reminded of her greatness as Oprah, Queen of the Universe, titters as she picks the dress she would wear to interview the superstar for her Next Chapter series. Regardless of our level of adoration for the pop icon, musician, businesswoman, role model and overall beast, we recognize that every move she makes will bring her name to our tongues.

We’ve especially seen her power in the past few months, as she’s announced her work on new music and a series of concert dates that the maven has aptly titled The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. The Internet was just ablaze dissecting the feminist (or anti-, according to some) meanings behind her newest single, “Bow Down/I Been On”, where Bey reminds everyone that, as my grandmother used to say, “every shut eye ain’t sleep.” Her break to live, to mother, to love apparently doesn’t mean that she’s left her throne.

Selena Gomez to perform at the MTV Movie Awards!

While she might have to wait until next year to find out if her work in "Spring Breakers" is Golden Popcorn-worthy, Selena Gomez will be on hand for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards to perform her new single "Come & Get It" live on Sunday, April 14.

"It is my first performance back as a musician," she told MTV News about the Movie Awards gig. "I'm so nervous! I think it's really cool, 'cause I got to take a year off of music and really be a part of great movies and work with great people, so I thought it would be perfect that I kind of go into music again through MTV and then the Movie Awards. So I thought it would be appropriate. I'm so stoked!"

The tune was penned by Ester Dean and Stargate, who also produced the track, and will debut April 8 on "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" just days before she takes the stage at the Movie Awards.

"This is the hardest I've ever worked on any album I've ever done. I recorded about 23 songs, and I picked 11. So we put all the album together, and I really wanted it to be a different level for me," she said. "So I think for the performance, I'm going to try to do things that nobody's ever really seen from me before and kind of take it to the next level. So hopefully I'll do a good job."

"Come & Get It" is the lead single from Gomez's next album, slated for release later this summer. Gomez is also expected to make a tour announcement in the near future.

Why Doctor Who needs more female writers

The new season of Doctor Who, starting Saturday, doesn't use a single female writer. The count is similarly poor for other British science-fiction and fantasy shows – so what's the problem?

On Saturday, Doctor Who returns, kicking off the second part of the seventh series with a James-Bond inspired episode that sees the Doctor and Clara whizzing round London on a motorbike. Which is exciting if you like interesting drama with witty banter and thoughtful concepts. But less exciting if you like interesting dramas that include women on their writing teams.

TV Writing Remains a White Man's World, WGA Study Finds

Women and minorities have made some gains over the past decade, but the overall picture on the TV writing front remains bleak, according to a study released Tuesday by the Writers Guild of America West.

The WGAW’s latest analysis of the state of diversity, the 2013 TV Staffing Brief, finds that while there have been some recent job gains for minority and women writers, the employment playing field in Hollywood is far from level.

The research shows minority and women writers have made incremental gains in employment over the past decade-plus period, but current TV staffing levels still continue to be widely disproportionate to actual minority demographics of the U.S. population.

Arthur Newman Poster + Trailer

In Arthur Newman, Oscar-winner Colin Firth plays a man who fakes his death and buys himself a new identity. Wallace Avery is a divorced, washed-up amateur golfer whose son and girlfriend both hate him. He “once had very big dreams and has reached an age where he’s on the brink of writing himself off. He’s disappointed, ” Firth says. “They called him the choker because he would always choke on the final hole [in golf]. His marriage proved unsatisfactory. His relationship with his son is unsatisfactory. He has a bad relationship with his current girlfriend. And he just decides not to accept it.”
After faking his death, he begins a road trip of self-discovery as Arthur Newman. “He decides he’s going to be the guy that he feels he could have been,” Firth says. Along his journey, he meets the beautiful and mysterious Mike Fitzgerald, played by Emily Blunt. She’s “equally damaged in a very different way. She’s running away from her issues.”

The pair travel together, breaking into houses and assuming the identities of the absent owners. ”It’s not the inevitable romance, it’s not the inevitable failure to have romance,” Firth says. “I found it followed a very truthful path about an ordinary person.”
And as for the golf scenes, don’t be fooled by Firth’s sweet swing. “I don’t know what I’m doing with a golf club. I got lucky a couple of times.”

Ron Howard & Brian Grazer On Their Arrested Development Roles

We reported last year that Arrested Development producer Brian Grazer and producer/narrator Ron Howard are appearing onscreen in the show's run of new Netflix episodes when they drop this May, but now, Howard and Grazer have revealed the nature of their on-camera roles. At a charity event this week, Howard and Grazer mentioned that the show's plot this year will involve their production company Imagine Entertainment turning the Bluth family story into a movie. "One of the very last lines in the show was when [I say], 'I don't think [Arrested Development] is a TV show; maybe it's a movie," explained Howard. "So in the new season, we create a heightened version of Imagine Entertainment." Grazer added, "We talk about what could be our new Da Vinci Code." There's an episode that involves Michael Bluth getting stuck in an elevator with both Howard and Grazer, with Howard describing it as having "a lot to do with our inflated egos." So, get ready for Arrested Development Season 4 to get super meta, everybody.

I'm trying to remain pretty blase about the whole thing, so that if it comes back and it's good, I'll enjoy it instead of trying to compare it to the original series. I thought Season 3 finished kind of weak, so I'm hoping the new season will pick up some of the old, awesome steam!

LMAO - Greg Gutfeld calls Carrey a 'roiling bucket of sewage' + right wingers want Jim deported

For the second day in a row, “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeld ranted against actor Jim Carrey for making a Web video that mocked the late Charlton Heston’s 2000 proclamation that he’d give up his gun “when you take it from my cold, dead hands.”

This is Hollywood with its slip showing. Carrey’s video shows what they really think of fly-over America. They hate you. To them, you’re all white rednecks. Worse, he mocks a dead and decent man. NBC Is Said to Offer Lauer’s Job to Cooper

Earlier this month an NBC executive contacted Anderson Cooper with a question that would flatter and intrigue just about anyone. Would Mr. Cooper, the biggest star of CNN, consider replacing Matt Lauer on the “Today” show in the months to come?

[More behind here]

Mr. Cooper may have told NBC he was not interested. Nonetheless, the entreaty indicates that NBC executives are actively talking about a succession plan for Mr. Lauer, whose future on “Today” has been the source of widespread speculation in recent months. Mr. Lauer, a star of the “Today” show for the better part of two decades, signed a contract last year — believed to pay him $25 million a year — that keeps him at the network at least through the end of 2014. But the recent outreach to Mr. Cooper, described by people on condition of anonymity, suggests that NBC might remove Mr. Lauer from his co-host chair before then, or that Mr. Lauer might ask to be replaced.

The call from NBC was first reported Tuesday night by It was so surprising that some television industry executives thought the story was untrue, chalking it up to troublemaking by agents or rival networks. But three people with knowledge of the call confirmed that it happened, and said they too were taken aback by it. The people insisted on anonymity because the call was considered confidential. It is unclear who at NBC made the call to Mr. Cooper. The news division does not currently have a president. Patricia Fili-Krushel, the chairwoman of the NBCUniversal News Group, who oversees the news division, previously worked at Time Warner, the parent of CNN, for nearly a decade. An NBC News spokeswoman declined to comment about the circumstances of the call or about’s report that Mr. Lauer later called Mr. Cooper to “express his disapproval.” A news division executive, who discussed the matter on condition of anonymity, confirmed in an e-mail that “NBC News has many exploratory talks with talent inside and outside of the network, but to read anything specific into that is presumptuous.” The same person also said, “We are confident in our anchor team and are focused on producing great morning TV.”

After 16 years as the No. 1 morning show, “Today” slipped behind ABC’s “Good Morning America” last year. While NBC News executives say they have resisted leaning toward the lighter fare and tabloid style of their rival, the “Today” show itself risks becoming tabloid fodder. In the wake of the report, said its sources had said that “Lauer is actually on board with the idea of Anderson replacing him,” and that “he actually planned to have a meeting with Anderson to sit down and discuss it.”

Mr. Cooper’s contract at CNN expires this fall. In some ways he’s a logical choice for “Today”; he is in his mid-40s and he has demonstrated that he can juggle hard news interviews with the fun and games that morning TV shows serve up. His presence on “Today” might spur former viewers to give the show another chance. “Today” has fallen about 20 percent in the ratings since Ann Curry was removed from the co-host chair next to Mr. Lauer last summer. On the other hand, co-hosting “Today” would be a drastic lifestyle change for Mr. Cooper, who is “not a morning person,” in the words of one friend, and is used to hosting a prime-time newscast. “Anderson Cooper 360,” his nightly hour on CNN, is shown live at 8 p.m. and is replayed at 10 p.m. While “360” is one of CNN’s highest-rated programs, it has struggled in the ratings; it currently attracts fewer than one million viewers at 8 p.m. Furthermore, Mr. Cooper’s shot at a daytime talk show in the fall of 2011 has been viewed as a disappointment; it was renewed for a second season, but was canceled last October, only one month into the second season. Episodes of the talk show will continue to be televised for a few more months.

A spokeswoman for Mr. Cooper at CNN did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the outreach from NBC. When his CNN contract ends, another option besides “Today” is an expanded role on the weekly CBS newsmagazine “60 Minutes.” He currently contributes a few stories to the newsmagazine each year, and is contractually prohibited by CNN from doing more. CBS executives would jump at the chance to change that. Mr. Cooper may opt to stay at CNN, however, given that it provides him a daily presence on television.

The “Today” show would provide the same thing — and a much bigger audience to boot. But Mr. Cooper may be leery of appearing to force out Mr. Lauer, who has co-hosted “Today” since 1997. Mr. Lauer is by many measures the most successful male host of a morning television show since the medium was invented by NBC 60 years ago. But the perception that Mr. Lauer forced Ms. Curry from her job last June has badly damaged his reputation, and even spurred rumors that NBC may remove him from his job.

The network has denied those rumors in the past. On Wednesday, through a spokeswoman, the executive in charge of “Today,” Alex Wallace, said: “As we’ve said before, Matt Lauer is the best in the business. We want him in the ‘Today’ show anchor chair for many years to come.”

Later in the day, Ms. Wallace amended her statement to add, “We are not considering replacing Matt Lauer.”

Within NBC, Mr. Lauer’s contract to co-host “Today” is almost universally considered to be his last. Staff members at the show are divided; some say they believe that Mr. Lauer is still the biggest ratings draw the show has, and others say that the show cannot recover from its ratings slump until he is replaced.

Meanwhile, executives up the ladder at NBC, which is owned by Comcast, have wondered aloud whether they should make a change at “Today” before Mr. Lauer’s contract expires. The new co-host of the 9 a.m. hour of “Today,” Willie Geist, and the moderator of “Meet the Press,” David Gregory, are the two men most often mentioned as possible successors. An outsider whose name came up a year ago, Ryan Seacrest, who is the “American Idol” host and a radio D.J., is less frequently mentioned these days.

Regarding Mr. Lauer, “the calculus within NBCUniversal now is ‘Can we really wait a year and a half?'” said a person with past ties to the network, one of many who has been sought out by network executives for advice about “Today.” The person added, “Matt’s now in the same situation now as Ann Curry.

I RELISHED this line An NBC News spokeswoman declined to comment about [a ] report that Mr. Lauer later called Mr. Cooper to “express his disapproval.” SOMEONE IS NOT AMUSED ;)

Penn Badgley sings "Once I was" and looks pretty in a new photoshoot

Penn Badgley (as Jeff Buckley) Performs 'Once I Was' in 'Greetings From Tim Buckley'

Portraying a music legend is no easy task for an actor, and Penn Badgley certain had his work cut out for him when he accepted the role of Jeff Buckley. The actor, best known for his stint on "Gossip Girl," is taking on the challenge in the upcoming film "Greetings From Tim Buckley," and he's doing all his own singing.

The movie tells the story of the younger Buckley's first public performance -- at a tribute concert to his dad, Tim, who died of a drug overdose before Jeff was only 8. While troubled by his father's legacy and his desire to make a name for himself, the 1991 performance was the breakout moment in Jeff's career, thanks in part to his beautiful rendition of "Once I Was."

Now, you can hear the full version performed by Badgley and judge for yourself whether or not the actor does justice to Buckley. For comparison's sake, we've also embedded the bootleg version of the original performance (we'll go ahead and say that Badgley basically nailed it, but feel free to disagree). Check out the videos and catch "Greetings From Tim Buckley" in theaters and on demand starting April 16 from Tribeca Film and Focus World.

Justin Timberlake Joins Exclusive Group Of Successful Soloists

JT becomes just the sixth artist to have tallied at least two Billboard 200 No. 1s each in a group and as a soloist. And, half the list consists of Beatles.

As previously reported, Justin Timberlake's third solo album, "The 20/20 Experience," debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 968,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The sum is the largest for any album this year and the best of the former 'N Sync member's solo career.

Another way to frame Timberlake's success? He's just the sixth artist in the Billboard 200's 57-year history to notch multiple No. 1 albums both with a group and as a soloist. And, half of those six are Beatles, meaning Timberlake is in some truly Fab company.

Here's a look at the select six superstar artists to top the Billboard 200 more than once both as group members and on their own:

Do you think he cares about you using the word "faggot"?
He knows me, and he knows I don't care about being gay. It's just another word to me. The same as "nigga." Let's say Frank started using the word "fag," just jokingly. People would be so fucking confused! They wouldn't know what to do. And it could take the power out of that word.

He goes on to talk about his upcoming album, Wolf, which drops on Apr. 2 and why he doesn't have features like Drake or Kendrick Lamar on his album. He says, " I don't need people's help. I see famous people being friends when I know they don't fucking even like each other," and later adds that "everyone is a fucking follower."

But he does fuck with Miley Cyrus, he says, and is reportedly featured on her upcoming album on a track with Mary J. Blige. "I wish more people would like her," Tyler says, in regards to the pop star.

'Criminal Minds' Shemar Moore: 'I'm not allowed to get a girlfriend'

Zap2it: Since "Criminal Minds" is about FBI profilers chasing criminals, how much time can be devoted to the characters' personal lives?

Shemar Moore: In the real world of FBI profilers, you've only got 72 hours to stop a serial killer or a criminal. So there's no time for hanky-panky, and there's no time to sit down and have a beer and see the private lives of our characters. But every so often, the show has been good about giving us some storylines to where you really see our characters affected or what they're about outside the job.

Zap2it: Your character, FBI Agent Derek Morgan, has a playful, platonic flirtation with quirky technical analyst Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) -- but so far it hasn't tipped over into romance. What do you think about that?

Shemar Moore: I wouldn't want them to [have a romance]. Nothing against Kirsten; I love Kirsten. It would take the magic away. Once you consummate the relationship, once we start playing kissy-face, laying in bed on purpose -- where do you go from there? I just think the big-brother/little-sister, that kind of love affair, with the one-liners and the pet names ... it's a lot more interesting that the big, tough guy has a weak spot for the nerdy little computer tech.

Zap2it: What's up with Derek's love life?

Shemar Moore: I've had two girlfriends in eight years, and they lasted about two-and-a-half episodes. It's OK for Penelope Garcia to get goofy Kevin as a boyfriend, but I'm not allowed to get a girlfriend, because then I'm cheating on Garcia.

A Lindsay Lohan sitcom?

One of the creators of “Sex and the City,” Michael Patrick King, is said to have reached out to Lohan to appear in his new CBS show “Two Broke Girls,” in a guest-starring role. She would play some variation on her wild girl image, trading vicious barbs with the two stars of the series, Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings.

If the thing comes about — that is, if she says yes and shows up and knows her lines — King is even mulling creating a show around Lindsay, with her again playing off her real-life image, much like her friend Charlie Sheen did in “Two and a Half Men.”

All this is in the talking stages. No word if Lindsay has even gotten back to King, since she has other things on her mind right now. I think it would be an amusing idea, if she was really acting, rather than acting out.

Maybe rehab and a steady job on TV are just what the doctor ordered. She could regain her beauty and her talent and her popularity with just a little luck and a lot of determination. Despite all the haters on the blogosphere, Americans love to forgive the stars they’ve built up and then torn down.

NBC "Today" show's Jenna Wolfe comes out and announces pregnancy

NBC "Today" news anchor Jenna Wolfe announced on the morning show on Wednesday that she is having a baby girl with partner and NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk, acknowledging her gay partnership publicly for the first time.

"This is big for me, I'm actually pregnant," Wolfe, who is the anchor for "Weekend Today," said. "I'm quite pregnant, actually."

Wolfe said the baby is due on August 27 and that she will keep a diary-style blog about her pregnancy.

"It's ... about documenting my fears, funnies and follies that come with doing this for the first time," Wolfe wrote in her first entry. "I've never changed a diaper ... I don't really understand what a breast pump is."

Wolfe, 39, and Gosk, 40, have been together for three years.

The couple told People magazine that Wolfe underwent artificial insemination from an anonymous donor in December and that they are also planning to wed.

Wolfe made her announcement in the same week that the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in two cases regarding same sex marriage.

Casting News: Robert Gossett, Xosha Roquemore Get Promoted, Kenneth Choi joins NBC's 'Ironside'.

Former co-star of The Closer, Robert Gossett, who had a recurring role on TNT's drama series Major Crimes, has been upgraded to a series regular, playing Assistant Chief Russell Taylor, Captain Raydor’s (Mary McDonnell's) direct superior - the same character he recurred with on the first season of Major Crimes, which is a spin-off of The Closer spinoff.

Gossett's promotion will begin in the upcoming second season of Major Crimes, which will premiere on June 10, 2013. Gossett was a series regular during all 7 seasons of The Closer, fro 2005 to 2012.
Xosha Roquemore has been promoted from guest-star to what Deadline calls a "heavily recurring role" on TV Land‘s Kirstie Alley comedy series, Kirstie’s New Show, which stars Alley as Madison “Maddie” Banks, a Broadway star who finds her life turned upside down her long-lost son turns up looking to connect after his adopted mother dies.

Roquemore will reprise her guest-starring role as Tanya, Alley’s chef. She'll appear in 6 out of the first season’s 12 episodes. The show begins production in the summer for fall premiere.
Kenneth Choi, known for his dramatic roles on 'Sons of Anarchy' and '24,' has joined the cast of upcoming NBC pilot 'Ironside.'

'Ironside' is a remake of the original NBC series of same name which debuted in 1967. Written by Mike Caleo and directed by Peter Horton, it centers on Robert T. Ironside (Blair Underwood), a tough, sexy and acerbic police detective relegated to a wheelchair after a shooting who is hardly limited by his disability as he pushes and prods his hand-picked team to solve the most difficult cases. Underwood first broke out as an actor on the 1980s tv series 'Downtown;' more recently he is known for his roles on 'The Event' and 'Thunder & Lightning.'

Choi joins 'Ironside' as the title character's supervisor, Captain Ed Rollins. Despite their push/pull relationship Ed and Ironside have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for each other. There should be some fun "get in my office!" speeches between the two accomplished actors.

The original 'Ironside' was a mammoth success, lasting eight seasons on NBC. Could going back to proven properties help lift NBC out of the ratings doldrums?

EXCLUSIVE: Kim Zolciak Responds to NeNe Leakes' Wedding Invite: I Look Forward To It

Kim Zolciak won't be tardy for NeNe Leakes' wedding … because she’s invited!

This morning, In Touch broke the news that the Real Housewives of Atlanta stars have finally made amends — and that NeNe, 45, is even inviting the former frenemy to her upcoming nuptials to Gregg Leakes!

Now, Kim, 34, opens up exclusively to In Touch about her former co-star’s peace offering.

"I have always been and I continue to be happy for NeNe, and I look forward to being invited to the wedding,” Kim tells In Touch. “NeNe and I started this journey together and although we have had our ups and downs, I am excited to get our friendship back on track.”

The Housewives went from friends to foes back in season one of RHOA, when Kim got chummy with NeNe’s rival, Sheree Whitfield. Before long, she and NeNe were hurling insults at each other on a regular basis.

After making up while filming an upcoming reunion special — which will air in three parts on Bravo, starting April 7 — NeNe tells In Touch she’s ready to lay the past to rest. “I’m extending an olive branch,” NeNe says.

And it seems her former archenemy has accepted.

“We were friends long before RHOA, and we will be friends long after RHOA if it's up to me," Kim says.

The 25 Biggest First-Week Album Sales in Music History.

After taking a seven-year hiatus from the music business, Justin Timberlake crooned his way back to the Billboard charts this week, selling a whopping 968,000 copies of The 20/20 Experience in its first week of release. Those numbers make it one of the fastest-selling records of all time, or more accurately, since Soundscan started tracking sales in 1991.

The feat got us thinking about other impressive opening weeks, like Taylor Swift's recent streak of dominance, or that time N Sync's sophomore LP went double platinum during its first seven days of availability. Keep in mind that albums like Eminem's The Eminem Show and Whitney Houston's soundtrack for The Bodyguard sold over a million copies in weeks other than their first. We're only talking about projects that sold massively out the gate.

These are The 25 Biggest First-Week Album Sales in Music History.

N Sync, No Strings Attached: 2,416,000

Release Date: 3/21/2000

The boy band pandemonium surrounding 'N Sync began in 1997 with the release of their self-titled debut album. Three years later, the group released their second effort, No Strings Attached, and the album sold 2.4 million copies in its first week, setting a record that has yet to be broken. Despite fierce competition from the Backstreet Boys, this N Sync's claim to the boy band throne. No Strings Attached was eventually certified seven-times platinum.

i remember going to the wiz to get millennium and nsa on the first day they came out. lawd those were the days <3

I want you to love her <3

by Vanessa Butler

She’s one of the biggest pop stars in the world, but you’ve probably never heard her name. Growing up in the final years of the Soviet Occupation in Estonia, Kerli knew that there was something bigger (and more colorful) out there for her. Determined to find it, she began entering herself in singing competitions which ultimately landed her a record deal in 2006 with Island Records. Her first album, Love Is Dead, charted on the Billboard 200. She was then featured on the companion album to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Almost Alice, and wrote the hit “Skyscraper” for former Disney girl Demi Lovato. Kerli hasn’t let the L.A. lifestyle go to her head; she continues to hand-make almost all her outfits, leading to the press constantly pointing out the quirky similarities she shares with Lady Gaga. But Kerli has no big-name designers fashioning her look, just her army of her online followers, who she lovingly refers to as “Moon Children.”

We caught up with Kerli to talk about her recently released EP Utopia while she lay in bed eating waffles after a long night of working on new material.

Possible new rap supergroup?? Featuring a pretty mothafucka, bucket hats, missing teeth... & Ab-Soul

In a recent interview with XXL, ScHoolboy Q hinted at the possibility of a pretty incredible collaboration. Q said that he has been working extensively with Danny Brown, A$AP Rocky and Ab-Soul (already a member of Black Hippy with Q, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock) and that the four could even come together as a supergroup.

Said Q, “I gave some features away, I told niggas – Pharrell gonna be on [Oxymoron] if he don’t charge me $2 million. A$AP Rocky’s on [Q’s upcoming Oxymoron], he did his verse already. Danny Brown did his verse already. Ab-Soul did his verse already – that’s one [thing] I can tell you, everybody knows that. We’ve got a ‘Druggys Wit Hoes Part 3′ – ‘Druggys Wit Hoes Trois.’ (Part 1 and Part 2) I’ma make one of them [records] forever, as long as I’m rapping... We may even do an album together, we’ve been talking about it – call that whole shit Druggys Wit Hoes. We may do it. Me and Rocky may do a project together, too. We’ve been talking about it, too. I’m just waiting to get this album out and just see what happens. As of right now, I don’t know. After this album, shit, I want to work with both the homies. I want to do a project with Soul and I want to do one with Rocky. Maybe we can even put our own little group together – me, Ab-Soul, Danny Brown and Rocky.

Look out for Oxymoron on Top Dawg/Interscope later this year and cross your fingers for a ScHoolboy Q/Danny Brown/A$AP Rocky/Ab-Soul supergroup in the future.

UPDATE: This whole situation now seems even more likely, following a Tweet by Danny Brown with a link to Q's interview alongside "#ThisisTrue."

Little Mix gush over Fifth Harmony!

If former “X Factor” girl group Fifth Harmony are looking for some advice as they record their debut album, they should look no further than Little Mix, the foursome that won the U.K. version of “X Factor” in 2011.

Little Mix hit the ground running after their win and dropped their own debut album, DNA, overseas last year, launching several singles in the process. So they certainly have some sage wisdom to share with their U.S. counterparts (who placed third back last fall).

“Just to be themselves, really be confident and just love what you do,” Jesy Nelson told MTV News about the wisdom she’d offer the ladies. “We saw them [and] we think they’re amazing. They’re really, really good. So, yeah, just keep doing what they’re doing I guess.”

5H are in the studio now and confirmed earlier this week that they hope to drop new music in the “next few months.” But, it was only last year that Little Mix was in the lab working on their debut album, set for release in the States in May.

“You don’t know how it’s going to happen, do you?” Perrie Edwards said, describing the pre-studio feeling she got for DNA. “You don’t know what’s waiting for you when you get there and it’s a whole new, different situation.”

“Especially when you’re on ‘X Factor,’ you do so many covers. And when you come off it, you’ve got to find your sound, what you’re about,” Nelson added. “But it’s exciting. It’s quite scary at the same time. But it’s fun and we loved every minute of writing our album.”

However, what fans hear on DNA didn’t happen overnight. It was a process that 5H should get ready for. Leigh-Anne Pinnock explained, “Well we knew what we wanted to do, but it was about finding it. Nothing was right until we heard [our debut single] ‘Wings’ and it was like ‘Yes! We found it!’ We went on from there, really.”

So, what should the ladies expect until they find that perfect career-defining anthem? Well, anything.

“When you start,” Perrie recalled, “… the world’s your oyster.”

Shia Labeouf Is Either Very Mature or Totally Screwing With the Orphans Cast

If Oprhans does not immediately ring a bell, then maybe you'll remember it as "the play that Shia LaBeouf quit because he and Alec Baldwin couldn't get along." Yes, that one! So, to the story: Orphans began previews last night — with Ben Foster as a replacement for Shia — and guess who was spotted in the front row. Shia LaBeouf, who apparently "leapt to his feet before any other audience member to give a standing ovation at the end." The New York Times reports that Alec Baldwin seemed to notice Shia from the stage and "fixed on him for a beat"; a spokeswoman for Orphans said LaBeouf "did not formally alert the production team that he would be attending." And now Shia is retweeting all of the various news reports that noted his presence (though he didn't give a comment to the Times). So is Shia trying to be a good guy and put all of the plagiarized e-mail nonsense behind him? Or is he just totally fucking with Baldwin? We would like to give him credit for both, if that's allowed.

Britney's new boo apparently had to be background checked, signed confidentially agreement

Britney Spears' new boyfriend has signed a confidentiality agreement.

The Scream & Shout singer - who split from her fiance Jason Trawick in January - had her new love interest David Lucado undergo a background check and sign a non-disclosure contract before agreeing to go out with him despite being set up by her father and legal guardian Jamie Spears.

A source told gossip website RadarOnline: 'Jamie has known David for awhile, and always thought he was a thoughtful, and an all-around good guy. Britney needed someone to keep her company after she and Jason [Trawick] broke up.

'It had to be a male, because Britney just doesn't respond as well to females. And remember, she is still under a conservatorship. Before David started spending time with Brit, he had to undergo a background check, and sign a confidentiality agreement, all arranged by Papa Spears. Jamie makes sure if things go south between Jamie and Britney, details about her life wouldn't be made public. David had absolutely no problem with it, and completely understood why it was being done.'

The 31-year-old singer - who shares sons Sean Preston, seven, and Jayden James, six, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline - has been spotted on several romantic outings with David, who works at a prestigious law firm in Southern California, recently. [source]

Radar Online and the Daily Fail? Sounds like some bullshit to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was indeed cherry picked and had to go through some hoops.
