✌Cici Post✌

“Daze In Confused” interviewed CiCi when she was in London in January this year. She talked about new album “One Woman Army”, working with Future, “Basic Instinct” and more. Interesting read!

Dazed: During the campaign for your Album Basic Instinct in 2011, You wrote an open letter to your fans asking LAFACE to release you from your contract, saying "I spent more then $100,000 out of my pocket on the Gimme Dat Video to bring my vision to it and still no label support"

Ciara: "It was over $200,000 I spent on promotion on myself. I love what I do but….it’s hard when you don’t see eye to eye with the team that you’re working with and our creative chemistry wasn’t fluid. Truthfully, the album shouldn’t have come out when it did because it wasn’t put in a position to succeed. The amount shipped to stores was very little, my fans pre-ordered albums and never got them. It was crazy. I was able to learn a lot through that experience, especially as a businesswoman. I believe in me-that’s where it starts, that’s where it stops.”

'Doctor Who' new episodes: Titles, posters, and plot info revealed

When I was a kid growing up in the U.K. during the ’70s and ’80s, the first time I knew much at all about what was going to happen on Doctor Who tended to be when I adopted the traditional crouching-behind-the-couch position on Saturday evenings and watched the actual show. Needless to say, things have changed a bit publicity-wise since then.

Yesterday, exclusively debuted the trailer for the eight new BBC-America shows, the first of which premieres on March 30. And today, the Who folks have confirmed the titles of and released movie-style posters for the first four episodes, which you can see below, and also revealed plot details (which you can find at the BBC America website).

The 9-year-old me is very excited about all this. And so is the, technically, more mature me — who is also currently writing next week’s Entertainment Weekly Doctor Who cover feature. Check back in a few days for much more on that.

Omarosa & Claudia Jordan battle it out on twitter

Tonight on "The Celebrity Apprentice" fans saw Omarosa leave the challenge to take care of a personal issue. On March 17, Omarosa and Claudia Jordan ended up battling it out on Twitter and they are obviously not fans now.

It started out with this tweet:"Tweeting from MCD's funeral- real classy Some friend! CJ! RT @claudiajordan: @OMAROSA Ha! I'm Shady? HYSTERICAL! I defended you for YEARS." The two are not getting along at all right now.

Claudia Jordan then tweeted something that looked like it was meant for her. She said: "Keep talking & Im going to tell what you REALLY did that disgusted ALL OF US. Editing saved some SOULS! #ThatIsAll #YouKnowYouWrong #Warning."

If only fans could know what went on behind the scenes on this show. It sounds like there is a lot more to the battle between Omarosa and Claudia Jordan but fans may never know what is really going on there. It sounds like these two won't be inviting each other over for dinner anytime soon. Are you shocked to hear that they still don't get along?

"The Celebrity Apprentice" airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. CST each week. Don't miss next week's new episode.

Lindsay Lohan's court hearing is less than three hours away and she still has not arrived in Los Angeles ... TMZ has learned.

As TMZ first reported, LiLo hopped off her scheduled flight from New York to Los Angeles just before take off last night because she felt the plane was unsafe.

Lindsay eventually found a flight, tweeting at around 4:00 AM PT and thanking Mr. Pink -- an energy drink company -- for lending her a private jet.

According to our sources, the flight won't land in Los Angeles until around 6:30-7:00 AM PT ... meaning Lindsay has roughly 1.5 hours to make it to court, which starts at 8:30 AM PT. It might be enough time, but you have to factor in that Lindsay needs to make herself "camera ready."

And then there's this ... we know Lindsay's plane is set to land at the airport in Van Nuys. That means she has to travel around 20 miles to get to the hearing today at the Airport Courthouse. And it's gonna be rush hour!

According to our sources, Lindsay is not alone on the flight. She's traveling with her ex-assistant Gavin. He was the one who rolled on Lindsay and told the cops she was driving the car (despite her claims otherwise). The incident played a major role in their decision to charge her with lying to police.

Lindsay could have avoided all of this if she stayed on her original flight to LA. Even though it took off an hour late and was diverted to Las Vegas ... it still arrived in Los Angeles last night at 11:30 PM.

But if Lindsay made smart decisions, we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

Lindsay Lohan will absolutely, positively be LATE for her trial TMZ has learned ... and the judge could issue a bench warrant for her arrest on her first day of trial.

We've learned ... the private jet that is carrying the infamous defendant is scheduled to land at 8:11 AM in Van Nuys, 20 miles from the courthouse.  That means at the time of touchdown, assuming she lands on time, she will have 19 minutes to get to the courthouse in the middle of rush hour traffic.  Translation:  No way in hell.

Sources tell us ... the jet was delayed at JFK in NYC and didn't go wheels up until 6 AM EDT.

There are 2 SUVs waiting at Van Nuys airport to take Lindsay and her entourage to court.

One more complication .... Lindsay left all of her luggage on her original commercial flight.  Someone has already retrieved the bags at LAX and has taken them to the Van Nuys Airport.  Lindsay will change clothes in the car.

One final thing ... Guess how much the private jet costs?  $50,000.  Lindsay didn't pay -- The generous folks at Mr. Pink energy drink covered the tab.

8:13 AM PT
We're told the private jet carrying Lindsay has diverted to LAX -- which will put her much closer to the courthouse, and give her a fighting chance to actually make it on time. The clock is ticking ...

8:24 AM PT
Lindsay's attorney Mark Heller has just arrived.

Why Terrence Howard Did Not Return For “Iron Man 2″ And The Marvel Casting Process

According to Howard, the studio always wanted Cheadle for the role. Howard said:

“Don [Cheadle] and Robert [Downey Jr.] get along well. Initially, they wanted Don for that role, but my agent pushed me in. So I never had any beef with Don about it.”

Regarding the contract and wanting more money, Howard said:

“[I was paid] about $4.5m [for the first film],” said Howard. “The second time, [the studio] said ‘We think the movie will be successful with or without you. So, instead of the $8m that we said we were gonna pay you, we’re going to let you come back for a million dollars.’”

It seems like it came down to a misinterpretation of the contract.

Howard continued:

“We did a three-picture deal already, [but] I forgot, I didn’t know it wasn’t a mutually binding contract; it was only beneficial for them and they could bring me back or not. They can honour it or not.”

Slashfilm ran an article last month about the dealmaking process at Marvel. In that article, Managing Editor Russ Fischer, writes:

“Before an actor tests for a Marvel role, a deal is written and signed. That last part is important. If an actor wants to read for a role, or go on tape to test for the producers on a Marvel film, they start the process with a deal that specifies salary, the number of films in which that actor can be optioned to appear, and so on. This happens whether or not a part is offered.

Thus, when a role is offered, there is already a deal. It’s a fairly unique setup.”

If this is true, then Howard had this deal in place before he was even offered the part.

Fischer continues:

“Why do actors want this, despite the fact that Marvel’s process isn’t traditional, or particularly accommodating?

It should be obvious, but look at someone like Chris Hemsworth. He didn’t earn much to play ‘Thor’ originally, and he likely didn’t get a lot more to be in ‘The Avengers’, or ‘Thor 2′. But before he was Thor, he was just another Australian import. Now he’s Chris Hemsworth. He’s a name, and he can get a hefty salary for lead roles outside of Marvel.”

Beyond Bodice-Rippers: How Romance Novels Came to Embrace Feminism

"Bodice-rippers," the most famous term associated with the romance genre are, according to the book Beyond Heaving Bosoms: ""typically set in the past, and the hero is a great deal older, more brutal, and more rapetastic than the heroine." The heroines were young, virginal women whose purity was of paramount importance to their worth. The rapist-turned-true-love hero was a standard character.

Bodice-rippers and their contemporary counterparts were popular during the 1970s, occupying the same cultural space as the feminist movement but seeming to represent its polar opposite. As feminists were fighting patriarchy, romance novels were propping it up. Despite a major shift in the genre in the late 1980s and early 1990s that saw the near-disappearance of rape and the emergence of much stronger, more modern heroines, the idea remains that feminists and romance readers exist on opposite ends of the spectrum. This is not the case.

Olivia Wilde's date night with her fiancé Jason Sudeikis features two pole dancers at a strip club

Olivia Wilde took her new fiancé, “Saturday Night Live” star Jason Sudeikis, on a raunchy date to a New York strip club, booking a private room with two pole dancers before picking up the tab, sources tell Page Six.

In a move that could turn already alluring Wilde into the most desirable fiancée on Earth, the actress took Sudeikis for a fun night out at the Penthouse Executive Club on West 45th Street.

There, a witness told us, “Olivia booked the private champagne room with two dancers. She took Jason inside, and while he wasn’t allowed to touch the dancers, she could touch them.”

The source continued with a lot more detail that cannot be printed in a family newspaper or gossip column, adding, “They were in there for two hours, Olivia picked up the entire tab. Jason is a lucky guy.”

We’re told the wild date took place just over a month ago, after Wilde and Sudekis announced their engagement in January.

Wilde, who also strips off in the new movie “Drinking Buddies,” has previously described how she was “blissfully, hopefully, wildly in love” with Sudeikis, adding they “have sex like Kenyan marathon runners.”

Sudeikis’ rep commented, “Are you saying the New York Post is a family newspaper?"

'Veronica Mars' Movie: Rob Thomas Talks Details, Fears And How It Almost All Fell Apart

"Veronica Mars" ended its run on TV with the title character walking away into a pouring rain. It was a bleak finale with a tiny cliffhanger: Veronica (Kristen Bell) had basically destroyed her father's chances at being reelected sheriff and their relationship was fractured.

Now, six years later, the character will return in a blaze of glory, thanks to a movie Kickstarter campaign from "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas backed by Bell. The Kickstarter campaign promised a movie reunion would happen if it raised $2 million in 30 days, but fans made that happen in approximately 11 hours, ensuring new life for "Mars."

"It's like nothing else I have ever experienced really," Thomas said in a phone interview with The Huffington Post. "Waking up to 500, 600 emails in my box and then just the phone constantly ringing ... It's great for everything we've been working towards and I just wasn't quite prepared for it."

Can you open a movie in 2013 on publicity alone? So far, distribution upstart A24 is proving you can. Harmony Korine's "Spring Breakers" debuted in only three theaters in New York and Los Angeles this weekend for a monster $270,000 gross or a might impressive $90,000 per screen.

Historically, "Breakers" now has the highest per screen sine "Zero Dark Thirty's" $83,430 in December and ranks alongside "The King's Speech," "The Tree of Life," "Lincoln" and "There Will Be Blood." Many were skeptical that "Breakers" could be a real hit, but no film that has debuted to at least $75,000 per screen has ever grossed less than $13 million and only two ("The Master" and "The Tree of Life") made less than $24 million. Hollywood will get a better idea of how wide "Breakers" can play when it expands to over 1,000 theaters on Friday.

The highest per screen for an art-house film is "The Master's" $147,262 per in five theaters last September.

Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and James Franco, "Breakers" received positive reviews as it earned a 64 rating on Metacritic and a 70% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. It also earned raves from The New York Times, the Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Time Out New York, the Associated Press and London's The Guardian.

Again, "Spring Breakers" opens nationwide on Friday.

'Save Rock And Roll' Cover Art Revealed

when we were beginning the journey of making this record we wanted to find some inspirational images. we came across the punk and monk image on the Internet and it really solidified what we were trying to get across on the record- the idea of old and new clashing. tradition and change coming together. there was something striking about it. obviously this is an image that means a lot to many people- we felt like we wanted to be part of this conversation. these kids represent the youth, change and irreverence that we hope our record is listened to with. at the end of the day we just want to take the rules and start all over with save rock and roll anyway.

shout out to Roger Stonehouse for capturing the original photo and allowing us to share it with the world

Andrew Scott: 2

Andrew Scott in action film 'Locke'

Andrew Scott has been cast in the new Tom Hardy actioner, 'Locke'.

Hardy, who has been in several Hollywood films of late ('Inception', 'The Dark Knight Rises') is extremely hot right now. Andrew has third billing as "Donal" in the cast list on so it looks like a pretty major role for him. The movie is described as a dramatic thriller in which "Ivan Locke has the perfect family and a dream job, until a phone call forces him to make a decision that puts his entire life on the line in a tension-fueled ninety minute race against time."

Variety reports that Steven Knight will direct with Joe Wright, 'Atonement' director, of Shoebox Films, as one of the executive producers.

The ninety-minute movie has a gimmick that it is played in real time. The man in a race against the clock has been done before, as in the Johnny Depp clunker, 'Nick of Time' but this is an action movie and may lend itself more to the device. Filming began this month in London and is slated for a 2014 release.

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn make it Facebook official with announcement and photos

If there is one thing Tiger Woods is great at, it's golf. If there is one other thing, it's keeping his private life extremely private.

So this announcement on Tiger's Facebook page was pretty surprising. On Monday, Woods posted four pictures of himself and Lindsey Vonn, with the following message.

This season has been great so far and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes.

Vonn, who won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics, has been rumored to be hanging with Tiger over the past few months (even borrowing his jet at one point), but this is first official announcement that the two are actually an item.

Here's Vonn's statement on the relationship:

Michael Jordan Paternity Suit Dismissed

The woman suing Michael Jordan for paternity and child support -- claiming he fathered her 16-year-old son -- has dismissed her case against the NBA star ... but he might not be out of the woods yet.

TMZ has learned Pamela Smith has filed legal documents in Georgia asking the judge to dismiss her case against MJ -- and her request was granted without prejudice (meaning she can refile at a later time if she wants to).

It's unclear why Pamela wanted the case dismissed -- considering she had recently asked the court to order a DNA test ASAP.

It's possible MJ and Pamela reached some sort of settlement ... or agreed to halt legal action while they try to work things out. It's also possible she simply decided to walk away thinking she would lose in court. We simply don't know.

Either way, MJ has succeeded in taking the situation out of the public eye ... at least for now.

Beth Ditto Arrested For Disorderly Conduct

Beth Ditto fought the law, but the law won after she was arrested for disorderly conduct outside a bar in Portland, and has the mugshot!

The fiery frontwoman of punk band The Gossip started the disturbance at the Bungalo Bar after she was cut off from more drinks in the early hours of Saturday morning, the Portland Mercury reports .

“I had no idea who this girl was before I went out tonight,” posted one witness on Reddit. “By 1:30 Beth was completely blackout drunk challenging people to fights.”

The eyewitness also claimed Ditto, real name Mary Beth Patterson, was ejected from the bar after she kicked out at a bartender.

“She walked out in the middle of the street, threw off her shoes and purse and screamed OBAMA! OBAMA!” as friends arrived to try to put her in a car,” an onlooker told the Willamette Week.

“The cops came — like 10 or 12 cars.”

The 32-year-old star was later released after sobering up, but could face up to six months in jail and fined up to $2,500 if convicted on a disorderly conduct charge.

This is too bad. Beth came out and drank with the crowd at the 2 Gossip concerts I went to. She was so nice and down-to-Earth. Maybe it was just a rough night?

Henry Rollins speaks on the Steubenville rape case

For the last couple of hours, I have been thinking of the verdict that was reached in what is now known as the Steubenville rape case.

Since all involved are minors, I won’t use anyone’s name. Two juvenile males were found delinquent of the charges and will be, as far as I understand, incarcerated in a juvenile detention facility until they are twenty-one years of age.

There is, I guess, cell phone generated video content of parts of the crime. It went “viral” on the internet and brought attention to the events.

I got through a few minutes of it but was too disgusted to watch the rest.

The case, the verdict and the surrounding circumstances open up a huge conversation.

These are a few of the things that I have been thinking about.

Ryan Howard (the Baseball Player) hits 'The Office'

As “The Office” concludes its illustrious nine-season run on NBC, not all is well at its Scranton, Pa., paper company.

At present, Jim and Pam’s storybook romance is on the rocks, Dwight and Angela’s totally icky liaison may never reach the goal line, Andy is losing his grip on his managerial position as well as his girl, Erin, and Jim and Darryl’s fledgling sports marketing agency is in search of funding, not to mention its first big-ticket client.

Well, enter one Ryan Howard. Blitz has learned exclusively that the Philadelphia Phillies slugger will appear as an exaggerated version of himself alongside John Krasinski (Jim) and Craig Robinson (Darryl) in the March 28th episode, which will see the marketing reps at Athlead attempt to sign one of Philadelphia’s biggest sports stars.

In today's "Why is this getting a sequel" news...

In one of those cases where you can be entirely surprise, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is going to get a sequel. The shelved feature which got a late January dumping ground release this year was made for $50 million and made just that much in its North American run. But it made another $151 million overseas, allowing it to cross that $200 million mark and gain a bit more attention. Paramount may have found it underperforming for the US market, but the overall box office returns were healthy enough for a sequel.

No word on whether the stars in it, Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner, will return for the sequel but it’s expected that there was some sort of contractual obligation. The film was produced in 2011 with a March 2012 release but got bumped back in order to capitalize on Renner’s potential popularity through The Avengers and The Bourne Legacy.

Ken Watanabe Joins 'Godzilla', Juliette Binoche Confirmed

...and just like that, Warner Bros. has announced that production has started today on "Godzilla," with the studio, filmmakers and everyone else keeping a tight lock and seal over details or anything else concerning the production. But the press release did offer up a couple more eyebrow raising bits of casting for a monster movie that seems to be following the "Pacific Rim" playbook to a certain degree.

Japanese actor Ken Watanabe ("Inception," "Letters From Iwo Jima") has come aboard, while French actress Juliette Binoche is indeed confirmed, making her first steps in a Hollywood blockbuster. Either this is one helluva script, or Binoche need to pay some bills. With the rest of the cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston and David Strathairn, like Guillermo Del Toro's monster movie, it's taking an ensemble approach without an A-list, bankable star. We'd wager the studio is hoping to sell the movie on spectacle, or either that, Binoche fans are gonna come in droves and see this twenty times each in theaters.

Gareth Edwards makes the leap from "Monsters" to his mega studio debut, with the movie expected to be in 3D. "Godzilla" will wreak havoc on May 16, 2014, but following last year's crowd-pleasing Comic-Con sizzle reel, could WB have a secret up their sleeves for San Diego this year as well?

Eva Mendes tired of being sexiest woman alive

SHE is regularly hailed as one of the most beautiful women in the world and dates Hollywood’s man-of-the-moment Ryan Gosling. Yet refreshingly, Eva Mendes isn’t preoccupied by looks. Not in the slightest, in fact.

In fact, Eva believes her looks can put directors OFF hiring her. She says: “I don’t know if I’ve really suffered but it’s probably caused some directors and studios to shy away from me for certain roles. Being sexy is just one component of who I am — it’s a thing I can be. It’s a side of myself I can tap into, just like I can tap into my funny side, my quirky side or my dramatic side. It’s not what I am.”

“I’m the only one who’s responsible for whatever image of myself I’ve put out there. This business often wants to sexualise women and I understand that, but at some point I got tired of being always thought of as ‘sexy’ and allowed that description to define the kind of work I was doing. That can be very limiting.”

Doing press in Los Angeles for the Andrew Niccol-directed “The Host,” Ronan talked briefly about her two American accents used in the adaptation, before noting that her lead role in “Grand Budapest Hotel” may just be a bit more natural. “I'm doing an Irish accent for my character.” she revealed. “Wes just decided to let me, and I'm really chuffed. It's actually the first time I've ever used an Irish accent in a film.”

Alongside the incredible cast of Bill Murray, Jude Law, Ralph Fiennes and Jason Schwartzman (to name only a few), Ronan also expressed awe about the environments that Anderson created for the film. “I mean, they're built, it's all real and tactile -- and that was really wonderful to be a part of,” she described. “Everything's just alive. You really feel like you're stepping into a Wes Anderson world.”

Would You Wear This "Lena Denim" Dress?

Because if you did, it would maybe be worth it (or at least justifiable) for the pun value alone. So that was pretty clever on ModCloth's part. Everyone (I think?) loves a good pun. But you know what everyone doesn't love? A denim dress. Universally unflattering, but also, for dress fabric, denim moves really weirdly and is pretty uncomfortable. It's understandable, given that there aren't a lot of good fabrics that rhyme with "Dunham," but still. Maybe gingham? I don't know. The point is, denim is the worst. Which, when you think about it, is exactly why Hannah Horvath would wear this in a heartbeat.

The cut also looks a whole lot like most of the dresses Dunham wears on the show, so again, pretty well played here. Surprisingly nice work for a garment that largely exists on the strength of a pun. The promotional materials are less stellar:

"Becoming the voice of your generation - or, perhaps, “a” generation - is all about expressing yourself. Why not let your wardrobe in on the fun? When you’re not proving your high-fashion prowess in awards-show-stopping gowns, let this denim design flaunt your free-spirited style with unpretentious perfection. Wear this collared dress atop your coolest short-sleeved graphic tee - the screen-printed portrait of your fave hip-hop star subtly peeking out from above the two stone-brown buttons. Cast a seafoam shoulder bag, black over-the-knee socks, and some lace-up booties alongside this playful piece, and snap a selfie to share with your best girls. Whether it’s with neon mesh marvels or laidback beauties such as this dress, you’re always making a fun, fresh statement!"

Huh. All the stuff about "selfies" and "free-spirited style" is... a little much. What really concerns me, though, is the part about the "screen-printed portrait of your fave hip hop star." Are we really dancing on the edge of another conversation about Girls and hip hop and/or race and/or cultural appropriation? If so, I'm going home.

The Trouble with Macklemore

The white rapper with the crazy red fringe game and un-Googleable hairstyle danced acrossSaturday Night Live’s venerable stage two weekends ago like it was his last performance on earth. At first glance, the “blandly handsome” Macklemore (as Grantland’s Steven Hyden put it) didn’t look much like a rap music harbinger of doom, but for a concerned segment of hip-hop’s literati that’s what he closely resembles.

If you were a viewer watching at home, or maybe even in the studio audience, your reaction was likely one of either intense bewilderment, extreme delight, or furrowed disdain. Macklemore’s number one hit single “Thrift Shop” has very humble origins and the story of its rise to fame contains the standard tropes now associated with meme-powered feats of acclivity. But while sectarianism as it concerns bubblegum acts like Carly Rae Jepsen and petri dish experiments like Lana Del Rey can be reduced essentially to matters of taste, Macklemore’s ascent is complicated by the genre he practices in and the resultant untidiness endured by racial semantics.

James McAvoy praises the X-Men: Days of Future Past script

The actor has revealed that he will team up with Sir Patrick Stewart - both of whom will portray Professor Xavier - in the 20th Century Fox film.

"It's great. It's really good and strong," he told I Am Rogue.

"I think fans will love it. I think people who have never seen any of the [previous] X-Men films before are going to be really into it. I think it's satisfying and giving people what they want, while at the same time being challenging and giving them something different, new, and unexpected."

McAvoy will reunite with X-Men: First Class co-stars Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult in Bryan Singer's sequel.

"I can't wait to work with Michael again, [plus] Jennifer and Nick," he said. "It's going to be great, we got along so well the first time around. That'll be fun.

"Then also, getting to team up with Sir Patrick. I don't know if I get to work with Sir Ian [McKellen], but it should be a real exciting time, I think."

"I read the script yesterday," says McAvoy. "...I had my first costume fitting. He looks cool. He looks fun. I like his '70's costumes."

"My head is all about [Macbeth] at the moment," the actor continues. "The day I finish that, I'll be firmly Chuck Xavier."

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters July 18, 2014.

Tokio Hotel Promise To Release New Album If They Repeat As March Madness Champs

dear mother of god

In the four-year history of MTV's Musical March Madness tournament, no band has dominated quite like Tokio Hotel, the German rockers who have ridden the support of their fanatical "Aliens" to a pair of Final Four appearances, and, last year, the MMM championship.

Of course, their tourney success is even more impressive considering, during that same stretch of time, they've released exactly zero albums (their last, Humanoid came out in 2009). Obviously, that hasn't mattered to their fans ... and with the 2013 Musical March Madness set to tip off on March 18, it looks like history may repeat itself yet again: Because Tokio Hotel are back to defend their crown, and the oddsmakers like their chances.

CPAC: Where Ashley Judd Rape Jokes Happen

Possible Kentucky Senate candidate Ashley Judd has an "unnerving" "obsession" with rape, according to a conservative comedian who performed at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday. Fox News contributor Steven Crowder was winding up his monologue from CPAC's main stage when he decided to mock Judd's suggestion that people who use high-tech appliances (herself included) are indirectly contributing to human rights abuses:

By the way, in breaking news, Ashley Judd just tweeted that buying Apple products, again, is akin to rape. From her iPhone. Rape—now she knows how my brain felt after Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Oh, she said it. What is this obsession with Ashley Judd and rape? It's pretty unnerving.

Traci Lords presents "StupidVille"

A Guilty Verdict in the Steubenville Rape Trial is only 1 step toward progress because the Culture of "STUPIDVILLE" Exists Far Beyond Any One Community.

Sea to Sun Recordings' artist, Traci Lords, has recorded a powerful musical anthem with a video that is an "in your face" social outcry, in support of victims of sexual assault and is a direct reaction to the teenage rape case in Steubenville, Ohio. The case and Traci's willingness to discuss her own rape as a 10 year old in Steubenville have generated a Media firestorm in recent days including major TV Network interviews with Traci on CNN's Piers Morgan Live, and CBS's OMG! Insider as well as the initial debut on SIRIUS/XM's The Morning Jolt with Larry Flick (Out-Q Radio).

The song Stupidville was conceived when Lords, outraged by the specific details of the case, felt compelled to speak out through the power of music, in order to reflect her own experience and give a voice to the "Jane Doe's" of the world. Fellow Sea to Sun writer & artist, Sylvia Tosun (a Human Rights activist, and award winning songwriter/composer) collaborated with Traci to carefully craft her lyrical message in preserving Traci's authentic and personal feelings, while infusing a poetic touch.

Super Clyde, the CBS comedy pilot in which Rupert Grint gets rich and decides to become a superhero, is getting an actor worthy of its Batman-spoofing concept. Stephen Fry will be playing the butler who helps Grint's Clyde with his crimefighting quest.

Deadline reports that Fry will be playing Randolph, the butler and sidekick to young Clyde. Clyde is a meek fast-food worker who comes into a fortune and decides, taking his cues from Batman, to become a superhero. But given the comedic nature of the show and Fry's prior butler experience, their relationship may be less Alfred-and-Bruce than Jeeves-and-Wooster.

FUCK YEAH. I love my ginger prince Rupes, and I love Stephen Fry more than it's healthy. I hope this is picked up, and I anticipate all sorts lovely guest stars. HP actors, Hugh Laurie, everyone from My Name is Earl and Raising Hope.

Depeche Mode's 'Delta Machine' now streaming on iTunes!!!!!!!! + appearing on Jonathan Ross!!

How is it that Depeche Mode are one of the few stadium-filling bands from the ‘80s still standing?

It isn’t just that Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andy Fletcher remain upright, though that is impressive considering Gahan’s well-documented struggles with substance abuse. The real feat is that the Depeche Mode sound—obsessively constructed monoliths of synth-based, salvation-obsessed twitchiness—still feels fresh 13 albums into their career.

From another angle, it’s obvious: Most of the time they’ve been so far ahead of the curve that even their most pedestrian output sounds inventive, and you need only look at their followers—from Nine Inch Nails to Frank Ocean—to see that game recognizes game.
