Joss Whedon Talks About The Challenges Of A Solo HULK Movie

Joss Whedon is continuing the European festival circuit for Much Ado About Nothing. After stopping at the Dublin International Film Festival, Whedon next attended the Glassgow Film Festival and answered more Marvel related questions during the post-film Q&A session.

Question: You think it would be possible to make a good Hulk film?

Joss Whedon: Yes. But it would be very, very hard. Hulk is a tricky son of a bitch. He’s the Claudio of superheroes. Because the problem is it’s a very popular character, but it’s not a superhero. Half of it’s a superhero, half of it’s a werewolf. And you can’t structure it like a superhero movie, you can’t light it like a superhero movie. How do you develop that? It would be extremely difficult. The one thing you would have in your favour would be Mark Ruffalo. But right now I don’t know if they have plans to do that or not, because he works so well as part of a greater whole, but by himself, it’s tough. I don’t envy the guys who went before.

Anna Friel accidentally emailed her dad pornographic pictures

She is known for taking on some controversial – and revealing – acting roles.

But Anna Friel has admitted she has managed to shock her parents only once – by emailing her father some pornographic images.

The 36-year-old, who plays Jean Raymond, the wife of porn baron Paul Raymond, in a new film called The Look Of Love, made the embarrassing slip-up while she was researching her role.

‘I sent an email to my dad with some pictures of Jean Raymond,’ she said. ‘He called me afterwards and said, “I think you’re going a bit far on this one.”

‘I wondered what he meant and then I realised I’d sent him an email attachment of an actual porn shoot that Jean did – I mean, everything. I was mortified.’

Madonna's Ray Of Light Turns 15; A Look Back At The Masterpiece

When Madonna arrived at a Los Angeles studio in summer 1997, ready to record what would become Ray Of Light, her seventh album of original material, she’d already spent months writing demos with her longtime collaborator Patrick “Live To Tell” Leonard and songwriter Rick Nowels. Fueled by a love of then-current electronic music coming out of the UK and Europe — think Daft Punk and DJ Dimitri — she chose Brit whiz William Orbit as her collaborator for what she termed his “certain brand of madman-type genius.”

Orbit had previously remixed a few of M’s singles. In 1997, he encountered a freshly energized (and spiritualized) Madonna. Now a student of Kabbalah and a new parent, she told MTV’s Kurt Loder at the time, “I have much more of a joy of living than I can ever remember having before… I realized how blessed I was. I started to focus on living in the moment and enjoying each moment.” The mood was reflected in her appearance too, with long strawberry blond hair and an earth mother vibe.

A Poehler and her boys post because they are the best

She has been glamming up of late as she did the rounds on the Awards show circuit.

But fresh-faced and cosmetic-free Amy Poehler made a casual family trip to the Beverly Hills Farmers market with her two sons Archie and Abel on Sunday (March 3).

But even on such an au naturel outing, the "Parks and Recreation" star still managed to make a fashion statement with a pair of high-heeled leather boots.

Lauren Conrad: 24-Hour Runway Show also goes Blonder.

Lauren Conrad wears some bright colors on her way to Cotton’s 24-Hour Runway Show on Saturday afternoon (March 2) in Miami, Fla.

The 27-year-old designer hit the runway with fashionista Louise Roe to dish about fashion trends.

“1440 cotton looks in 24 hours means nonstop fashion – I can’t wait!” Lauren excitedly tweeted the night before, just before walking the carpet at the opening party.

FYI: Lauren wore a Black Halo red dress and Skaist Taylor yellow dress for the main event.

Lauren Conrad's latest hair makeover was a spur of the moment decision. Under the guidance of The Beauty Department's Kristin Ess, the 27-year-old fashion designer debuted lighter locks via Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

"I just felt like going blonder. I don't really have like a cool reason," Conrad admitted to Us Weekly during Cotton's 24 Hour Runway Show in Miami, Fla., March 1. "I hadn't been very blonde in a while. We were in my hairstylist's studio and we just decided to do blonde."

Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience’ Is Produced Entirely By Timbaland

“It’s all me and Tim,” Justin Timberlake says of The 20/20 Experience — as in, his third album was produced entirely by Timbaland. Given the producer’s hand in Timberlake’s previous solo material (Justified‘s “Cry Me a River,” ten of FutureSex/LoveSound‘s 12 tracks produced), the news isn’t a surprise, but perhaps a guarantee that fans will like what they hear.

“[20/20], it goes a lot of different directions,” Timberlake says to Capital FM. “I think there’s probably a little bit of what was reminiscent on the first album and then a little bit of what’s reminiscent of the second album, and then some new stuff.”

Aside from confirming Timbaland’s role in 20/20, the “Suit & Tie”-donned singer also says that he recorded with Pharrell (who helped produced Justified), but for material that will appear under the Neptunes. He also re-confirms that he hit the studio for Beyonce‘s follow-up to 4, although he has yet to ask Mrs. Carter to return the favor. “We didn’t do anything on this for mine, but that’s not to say that down the road, there couldn’t be a single version of something.”

It’s like when Capital FM asked of why he swears so much more now: “I’m 32 years old, sweetheart. Nobody’s gonna tell me anything.”

Ciara's 'Body Party': Exclusive Song Premiere

Since the release of 2010's "Basic Instinct," Ciara has become noticeably more comfortable in her own skin. The singer is ready to let us in on her fifth studio album, "One Woman Army," starting with her latest single, "Body Party."

Ciara slows it down on the Mike WiLL Made It-produced song, exclusively premiered on The Juice. "My body is your party, baby/ Nobody's invited but you baby/ I can do it slow now, tell me what you want," she seductively croons.

Aside from the infuence of Ghost Town DJ's "My Boo," what makes the single sweeter? Ciara has teamed up with her boyfriend, Future, for "Body Party." The rapper, who co-wrote the song with his main squeeze and Mike WiLL, can be heard throughout with his "ooh's" and ad-libs. "If you listen closely, you can [hear him]," she told The Juice while giggling.

"Let's just say that this record came out of a very sincere place," Ciara says of working with Future. "I think when things just organically feel right, naturally good things come from it."

"He' s such an amazing, creative person," she continues. "I can be very creatively expressive myself, but there's nothing like being able to work with someone that can bring a new flavor. What I like about [working with] him, it's almost like I got to learn more things about myself."

"One Woman Army," to be released in June, will feature production by Rodney Jerkins, The Underdogs, Rock City, Mike WiLL Made It and feature Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross, as well as a wholly content singer at its center.

"I can't avoid being inspired by what's going on in my life. To be honest, I'm in a very happy place," Ciara says.

Kelly Rowland Addresses Keyshia Cole’s Angry Tweets

It’s been about a month since Keyshia Cole’s angry tweets towards Michelle Williams’ appearance at the Super Bowl, and Michelle sort of responded to it already. However, it’s Miss Kelly Rowland who really dropped ten tons of doom on Keyshia’s edges.

While speaking with Rolling Stone about her upcoming fourth studio album, Talk A Good Game, Kelly also tossed out the following classy dagger.

It didn’t even make it on my radar until other people brought it up. It didn’t even matter. We had a wonderful performance, and that’s all I cared about. I was with my sisters and the three of us matter to each other, and that’s all that counts. We matter to a lot more people, with all due respect, than her. So, I really don’t care what she said.

Now that is an executive read. Kelly basically said Keyshia is ash and DC3 is lotion. I love it. Read more of the interview here and prepare for the “Kisses Down Low” video to premiere soon.

Game of Thrones Season 4 Accidentally Confirmed by Charles Dance

Thanks to the complex system of whispers, nods and embargoes through which the entertainment press functions, we’re often forced to collude in shared delusions. No, that actor hasn’t left a show under a cloud (we’re saying nothing), no, those classic monsters won’t be turning up in Doctor Who (at least, until the press release announces it), and yes, that programme may well make it to another series (even though it was cancelled before episode one aired).

One such folie à plusieurs is the non-existence of Game Of Thrones’ fourth season, which, we’re compelled to remind you, has not yet been confirmed by HBO.

Got that? Officially, as the situation stands, Game Of Thrones still might not continue to a fourth season. HBO hasn’t announced that it will, which means it definitely isn’t the case that of course it absolutely bloody well will and everyone knows it. Just to be completely clear, the most successful, expensive, hyped, and critically acclaimed fantasy drama there is, which has the source material to endure indefinitely and enough die-hard fans to outnumber all the slaves in Astapor, might not be commissioned for a fourth season. We just don’t know. It hasn’t been confirmed.

Justin Bieber on "Worst Birthday" Incident: I Didn't Bring Underage Kids Into Club

The Biebs wants to share his side of the story. After his March 1 birthday bash at London's club Cirque du Soir ended in chaos, Justin Bieber -- now an older, wiser 19 -- took to Instagram to defend himself. "The funny moment when people believe I brought underage people to a club," the "Beauty and the Beat" singer wrote beneath a photo of blank, black box.

A Cirque du Soir source previously told Us Weekly that the festivities were cut short following a scuffle between club security and Bieber's posse -- reportedly over the presence of Will Smith's son, Jaden Smith, who is just 14 years old. The underage star's presence "caused problems," according to one source.

Retorted Bieber: "U think Will is letting his 14 year old in a club, I don't think so." Further slamming the hotspot: "I love how the club wanted to give the press another reason to why we didn't stay at their weak ass club so they wouldn't look bad for me walking in and right back out." About 15 minutes after the confrontation, Bieber et al departed the premises.

Still, Bieber found the silver lining to his disappointing evening: "I said m 'worst bday' but that was due to dummies pushing over my fans and being overly aggressive. Btw it wasn't the worst bday cuz all my friends from back home flew in I was just mad in the moment."

Fox renews The Following, Raising Hope, Mindy Project, and New Girl!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Fox announced on Monday that it has renewed four more shows for the 2013-14 TV season, including the Kevin Bacon-fronted freshman drama The Following and the buzzy, bubbly sophomore comedy New Girl.

Likewise, Raising Hope has been picked up for a fourth season, and the freshman comedy The Mindy Project will be back for another round.

The quartet of pick-ups, combined with Bones‘ previously announced renewal, effectively keeps Fox’s current Monday and Tuesday line-ups intact, with ill-fated Ben and Kate already excised.

In announcing The Following‘s renewal — for the same 15-episode count as its maiden run — Fox president Kevin Reilly said, “From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding. Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I’m delighted to have this thrill ride continue for another season.”

Harrison Ford joins 'Anchorman 2'

Before dusting off the Millennium Falcon for a Star Wars sequel, Harrison Ford will sharpen his comedic chops for a role in Paramount's Anchorman 2.

Ford will play a legendary newscaster a la Tom Brokaw in the Adam McKay-helmed comedy, which begins shooting this month in Atlanta. He previously played an anchorman in the film Morning Glory.

The sequel to 2004's Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy stars returnees Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner, as well as a new-to-the-property Kristen Wiig.

Ferrell and McKay wrote the screenplay and are producing the film. Judd Apatow and Kevin Messick are also aboard as producers.

Though plot details on Anchorman 2 are being kept under wraps, the level of secrecy pales compared to the new Star Wars films, for which Ford is expected to reprise his role of Han Solo in some capacity.

Ford has a trio of films in the can: the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, which bows April 12, as well as the Relativity thriller Paranoia and the franchise hopeful Ender's Game.

He is repped by UTA.

Are Romantic Comedies Dead?

The March issue of The Atlantic features an essay from Christopher Orr called "Why Are Romantic Comedies So Bad?"* In it, Orr asserts that romantic comedies have been "lackluster for decades." Decades. He goes on to acknowledge that "classics of the genre," in which category he includes Annie Hall (sure!), When Harry Met Sally (sure!), and Pretty Woman (...), have been sprinkled around, but says we're not getting the amazing films "reliably churned out by the likes of Tracy and Hepburn and Grant and the other Hepburn."

Orr cites A.O. Scott of The New York Times in throwing some of the blame on stars — especially actresses he doesn't like (including Katherine Heigl) for not being good enough and actors he likes (including George Clooney) for opting out of the genre altogether. But in the end, Orr chalks up the problem mostly to the idea that romantic comedies require an obstacle to love: class, geography, parents — something that artificially keeps the lovers apart until they can kiss at the end. And those obstacles, he says, are fading.

The piece is a little all over the place, but part of it is sound: it's certainly true that there aren't a lot of pure romantic comedies of the stereotypical obstacles-culminating-in-a-kiss variety that are either making a lot of money or earning a lot of critical praise.

It’s been a big year for You Can Play, but they aren’t done yet

The NHL embraced You Can Play from the beginning at least in part because Gary Bettman has known Burke since his father Brian started working for the league when Patrick was 10, and knew who he was dealing with.

A year ago Patrick Burke was in his room at the Marriott Marquis in New York’s Times Square, and he couldn’t sleep. The next day, a little more than two years after the death of his younger brother Brendan, he would formally launch You Can Play, with co-founders Brian Kitts and Glenn Witman, to combat homophobia in sports. Burke lay awake in the dark as the neon lights danced outside, and he wondered what would happen.

“I thought about everything,” Burke says from Boston, one year to the day. “I played with the best-case scenario, and I played with the worst-case scenario. And for all of us, my co-founders and me, we figured that, starting that day, our lives were going to be very different, for better or worse.

“I’d wanted to work in hockey since I was two years old, and I just felt like if this didn’t go well, if the hockey community didn’t like it, if I publicly humiliated myself, if this thing was a disaster, if it wasn’t handled well, then no owner of general manager would ever give me any responsibility.”

One year later, and much has changed. You Can Play videos have been recorded by about 60 NHL players, 18 universities and colleges in Canada and the United States, 10 AHL teams, two Major League Soccer teams, one National Lacrosse League team, the rapper Macklemore, Nashville Predators minority owner Brett Wilson, TSN’s hockey panel, and others. It has become a key source of education for athletes, some more than others. Hockey players know who to ask about gay issues, and how to handle them.

As sports lurches towards a sort of Jackie Robinson moment for gay athletes, You Can Play has become the most significant progressive voice in sports, with the same three co-founders and a strong advisory board and a growing group of allies. Much has changed.

The You Can Play Project is an /AMAZING/ organization established a year ago today! I really hope that this catches on with more teams, players, leagues, etc. With the whole NFL teams asking about prospective player sexuality thing at the combines I think this needs to become something more people should support.

eta: sorry mods, resubmitted and fixed the images! I hate the new lj update page ;~;

And since it's not very clear: the You Can Play Project describes itself,
"You Can Play is dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation. You Can Play works to guarantee that athletes are given a fair opportunity to compete, judged by other athletes and fans alike, only by what they contribute to the sport or their team’s success. You Can Play seeks to challenge the culture of locker rooms and spectator areas by focusing only on an athlete’s skills, work ethic and competitive spirit."

Anne Hathaway: In Defense of the Happy Girl

Oh, Anne! With your small head and pert nose and oversized, ready smile and glossy pixie cut and squeakily tuneful speaking voice, uttering lines like “It came true!” as you gaze at your newly won Oscar with moistened doe-eyes, wearing a powder-pink Prada gown adorned with diamonds and bows: Why are you so annoying?

This question was posed repeatedly in the days after Anne Hathaway’s Oscar win for her role as the destitute-prostitute mother Fantine, in “Les Mis”—and various answers have been offered: she’s too actorly, and reminds us of the show-tune-belting nightmare we knew in high school; she’s polished, successful, and driven, and people still find this distasteful in a woman; plump faces are the vogue and her face is too thin; the public every so often elects a random celebrity victim for vitriolic hatred—every generation needs one, and she is ours; her sunny persona is a coverup for steely ambition that catapulted her out of youthful stardom into a mature career that runs the gamut from eccentric indie to big-franchise blockbuster. To these reasonably convincing propositions, I’ll add one more: she represents the archetype of the happy girl, which is one that many people resist.

Weinstein Co Starts 2013 Oscar Bid, Sets Release Dates For 'Fruitvale' and 'Mandela'

Two films that were recently picked up by The Weinstein Co and sure to be two of the most discussed films this year on S & A have had their theatrical release dates announced.

Ryan Coogler's Fruitvale, which won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for an U.S. dramatic film at the Sundance Film Festival in January, will be released on October 18.

There is already talk of a possible screening of the film at this year's Cannes Film Festival, but a showing at the Toronto Film Festival is practically a sure thing with an Oscar nominations push by the company towards the end of the year.

Meanwhile Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom starring Idris Elba in the lead role and Naomie Harris is scheduled for a November 29th release which also practically guarantees the Weinstein Co will also go for a major Oscar awards push for the film as well.

Baby Wipes And Sanaa Lathan To Star In A New Take On Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'.

Baby Wipes, Sanaa Lathan and Harry Lennix are all set to star in a new film version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, set to start pre-production in Sept. 2013 on location in Jamaica and Puerto Rico.

The film, to be titled Macbett, will also star Blair Underwood and Evan Ross and is written and directed by Aleta Chappelle, who is the first Amercan-American woman to direct a film version of a Shakespeare play.

Wipes not only plays the lead in the film, but is also the executive producer, along with producers Re'Shaun Frear and Kip Konwiser.

As the filmmakers describe their new take on the play: "after a gallant military victory, General Macbett (Wipes) encounters the “Weird Sisters,” who are the spirit daughters of Mother Africa and reign over fire, water, earth and sky. They delight in manipulating Macbett by feeding him predictions of royal titles including “King.” Macbett soon becomes obsessed with ambition, as does his beautiful and ruthless wife Lady Macbett (Lathan) .

"As Macbett and his Lady spiral downward, indulging in treachery and political assassinations, they are soon haunted by their murderous deeds and driven mad. In a true exemplification of a tragedy, Macbett is defeated by his own zealous thirst for power, a heartbreaking end to a once beloved Hero".

Though this is the first film of a black version of Macbeth, it is not the first time this has been done. Back in the 1936 Orson Welles, a few years before he directed his film Citizen Kane, directed a black stage version in New York set in Haiti, called Voodoo Macbeth which caused a sensation back in its day.

I'm torn.... due to Baby Wipes' presence it could be a hot mess, but Sanaa Lathan tends to pick good projects from what I've seen.

James Franco Defends 'I Want Your Love,' Gay Film Banned In Australia

James Franco is speaking out against Australia's ban on "I Want Your Love," the new gay-themed film directed by Travis Mathews.

In a new video originally posted by Out Magazine, Franco, who collaborated with Mathews on "Interior. Leather Bar.," calls the Australian Classification Board's decision to yank the film from planned screenings at gay film festivals in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane "really silly" and "very short-sighted."

Noting that "sex in films hasn't had a chance to grow and become a sophisticated storytelling device," Franco adds, "Frankly, adults should be able to choose ... I don't know why in this day and age, something like being banned. It's just embarrassing."

According to its official website, "I Want Your Love" tells the story of a young gay man in San Francisco who prepares to return to his Midwestern roots. "Torn between his creative dreams and the reality of earning a living, he's forced to take responsibility by redefining what it means to be an artist, a gay man, and an adult," a synopsis reads.

Mathews served as co-director and screenwriter of "Interior. Leather Bar.," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

"Every f**king love story is a dude that wants to be with a girl, and the only way they’re going to end up happy is if they walk off into the sunset together,” Franco told Entertainment Weekly before the premiere of his film. “I’m f**king sick of that s**t. So if there’s a way for me to just break that up in my own mind, I’m all for it."

'The Newsroom' at PaleyFest: Season 2 Flash-Forwards, Jim's Great Escape and a Love Hexagon

Host Piers Morgan spent most of PaleyFest’s Sunday night Newsroom panel offering his own opinions on the 24-hour news cycle and posing wandering, often self-absorbed ethical questions to the HBO series’ actors as if they were actual news producers. As a result, viewers gained little insight in to season 2 — except that the Sandy Hook tragedy may be addressed and that fans of Sloan and Don’s sexual chemistry will not be let down. The panel finally heated up toward the end via audience questions. Below, the highlights:

What to expect in season 2
“If you’re a fan of Don and Sloan, I would definitely be watching,” creator and executive producer Aaron Sorkin teased. In terms of the real-life connection to actual news, season 2 will follow the 2012 presidential election throughout. The Trayvon Martin shooting and budget crisis will also be addressed. Sorkin — who is currently writing episode 5 — admitted to being wary about writing Sandy Hook into the season even though he knows it’s unavoidable. “That’s a tough thing to write about without minimalizing it, exploiting it, spreading Cheez Whiz all over it,” he said. “Sorry for the bad metaphor, but there are so many land mines to step on. You want to make sure you don’t do it a disservice.” Having season 2 end chronologically just before Sandy Hook is a possibility.

Michael Jordan files for dismissal of paternity lawsuit

ATLANTA -- Basketball hall of famer Michael Jordan asked a Georgia court on Monday to dismiss a paternity suit against him, calling it a "shameless, bad faith attempt to abuse the legal system."

Jordan's lawyer John Mayoue said in a document filed in Fulton County Superior Court that the six-time NBA champion is not the father of Pamela Y. Smith's 16-year-old son. The paternity of the teen was "conclusively established" in divorce filings between Smith and her ex-husband, Jordan's attorney wrote.

Jordan, 50, is the majority owner of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats. His spokeswoman Estee Portnoy released a statement to The Associated Press.

"Public records show that the paternity of the child was established in a prior case in this same court many years ago and that Michael Jordan is not the father. He also filed a counterclaim seeking sanctions for the false claims made against him. It is unfortunate that well-known figures are the target of these kind of claims. Michael Jordan will vigorously defend himself and his reputation."

In response to Smith's lawsuit, Jordan's lawyer attached a 2003 divorce court filing between Smith and her then-husband Glenville G. Reynolds. The document said the marriage produced one child and listed the boy's birth date and name. At the end of the document, there is a statement signed by Smith saying everything is "true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief."Collapse )

Shameless gets a Little Dose of the West Wing

Shameless is about to get a little more sophisticated.

The West Wing's Bradley Whitford is set to guest star on the Showtime series as Abraham Paige, a powerful, well-dressed and sophisticated gay man who is a political activist, and we've got your exclusive first look at his debut!

In our exclusive picture, it seems Abraham has quite the sense of humor as William H. Macys Frank Gallagher is seen indulging in a pretty big laugh over dinner with the activist.

The Emmy-winning actor, who recently appeared on Parks and Recreation, will make his Shameless debut on March 17 and is set to appear in two episodes.

Shameless was recently picked up for a fourth season by Showtime.

Surprised there's no guest star tag. But this should get interesting for Micky/Ian. Who else caught [spoiler]the fact that Lip didn't graduate cause of 2 courses?

Who Is Ella-Paige Roberts Clarke? Five Things to Know About Justin Bieber’s Maybe Girlfriend

Justin Bieber may have had the “worst birthday” on Friday night, but he found someone to make the celebration a little better: British singer-model Ella-Paige Roberts Clarke.

According to U.K. newspaper The Mirror, the teen duo (she’s 17) first met months ago – while Bieber was still with Selena Gomez – in Los Angeles, where she was recording. But over the past few weeks, the pair has been spotted all over London, including at a Justin Timberlake concert following the Brit Awards in late February, as well as the “Beauty and the Beat” singer’s 19th birthday, which abruptly ended when his 14-year-old pal Jaden Smith was reportedly not allowed inside of a nightclub.

So, who is Ella-Paige Roberts Clarke? Besides having a super-long name, the beauty – who is denying a romance with Bieber – has a lot in common with him.

Fifty Shades Porn Parody Strikes Back

'Fifty Shades' Porn Parody Countersuit Claims Books Are In Public Domain

Defending against an attempt by Universal Studios to stop release of 'Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation,' Smash Pictures argues that the famous erotic books originally were published on fan-fiction websites.

In November, Universal Studios sued Smash Pictures, the makers of a porn film titled Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation. Universal is alleging copyright and trademark infringement and looking to get an injunction that prevents the porn version of EL James' blockbuster novel from being distributed.

Smash Pictures now has responded to the lawsuit with a counterclaim, and it's quite scintillating.

According to the adult film company, Universal has asserted invalid and unenforceable copyrights on the books by James, whose real name is Erika Leonard Mitchell. What's more, the defendant says that the property that Universal paid $5 million to turn into a film adaptation is in the public domain.

"On information and belief, as much as 89% of the content of the allegedly copyrighted materials grew out of a multi-part series of fan fiction called Masters of the Universe based on Stephenie Myer's (sic) Twilight novels. On information and belief, this content was published online between 2009 and 2011 in various venues, including and the person website of Ericka (sic) Leonard. On information and belief, much or all of this material was placed in the public domain."

In its lawsuit, Universal says that the makers of A XXX Adaptation have made a "willful attempt to capitalize on the reputation of the book."

Jesse L. Martin Replaces Lenny Kravitz In Julien Temple's Marvin Gaye Biopic.

For all of those people who were giving the boo boo face side eye to the idea of rocker and eye candy Lenny Kravitz playing Marvin Gaye in an alleged upcoming biopic, this might be good news for you. Kravitz is out, while actor Jesse L. Martin is in.

You’ve seen Martin before. He was the original Tom Collins in the Broadway play and film Rent, and he played Detective Edward Green on Law & Order for nine years, so he’s not a newbie to the big or small screen. Did I mention that he can sing!? According to Deadline, his talent will be shown off in a huge role as he takes over the role of Marvin Gaye in the Julien Temple-directed film, Sexual Healing.

Of course, late last year when it was revealed that Kravitz would be taking the role, Gaye’s son, Marvin Gaye III objected greatly to the choice and threatened legal action towards the filmmakers. According to Shadow And Act, Gaye III was upset that Kravitz, a childhood friend, would sign on to do such a film, which he felt was shameful, seeing as how the movie is supposed to cover a very hard time in the legend’s career. According to Deadline, the movie will focus on Gaye’s time in Europe in the early ’80s as he battled his drug addictions and eventually was able to bounce back with his musical career as he made the Midnight Love album. Kravitz seems to have backed out of the project, but it’s not clear if pressure from Gaye III or critics had anything to do with that.

Despite all that drama, the movie is still in the works according to both sources, even with Marvin Gaye III and the Gaye family trying to find a way to stop the movie from being made. But according to Shadow And Act, EMI, who has all the rights to Gaye’s music, gave those working on Temple’s project permission to use his music in his film. With all that out of the way, we’re not sure how the singer’s family could stop the movie from being made at this point, and it sounds like it could be a good one, especially since they’ve got the very talented Jesse L. Martin in the lead role. This guy doesn’t look too far off from Gaye, and he’s very talented, so I’m willing to give it a chance whenever, if ever, it is released to see the light of day.

What do you think of the change-up?

Great News!Jesse has wanted this for a very long time. He better kill it!

6 Salacious 'Revenge' Spoilers

There's no denying that Revenge lost its way for a bit of season two. New Music: Travis Garland – ‘Fashionably Late, Vol. II’ [EP]

Last October, Travis Garland switched up his sound and gained some new fans with his EP Fashionably Late. Now the Texas native continues his musical evolution with the sequel, Volume II. The 23-year-old singer, who was formerly signed to Interscope, crafts his own seductive brand of R&B with help from L.A.-based hitmakers the Stereotypes (Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige).

“I tell people its gumbo,” the former boy band member told the L.A. Times of his edgier material. “It’s a little bit of pop and R&B, paired with growing up singing in church. And sex, vibe and art all thrown together.”

The five tracks include the single “Where to Land,” for which he shot a guerrilla-style music video in London.

Les Moonves: 'Last' Season for 'Dexter'

The CBS Corp. chief, who oversees sibling network Showtime, tells investors the Michael C. Hall drama will end after season eight.

Season eight of Showtime's Dexter may officially be its last.

Speaking to analysts at a Wall Street conference Monday in Palm Beach, Fla., CBS Corp. CEO Les Moonves indicated that the serial killer drama will wrap its run following the upcoming eighth season.

Asked by an analyst -- who implied that the Michael C. Hall-Jennifer Carpenter drama was in its last season -- what was in the pipeline for the CBS Corp.'s sibling cable network Showtime, Moonves may have let the cat out of the bag.

"We have Ray Donovan coming on with Liev Schreiber, which comes on with Dexter's last season starting in June and then we have Masters of Sex," Moonves replied with a laugh as if to acknowledge something that Showtime has yet to do.

Showtime executives have been mum on what the future holds for Dexter. A spokesperson for the network told The Hollywood Reporter late Monday that there was "nothing confirmed" about if the series could and would continue beyond season eight.

Showtime will use Dexter -- which was renewed a year ago for seasons seven and eight -- as a launching pad for Ray Donovan, moving up its premiere from fall to summer for the first time come June.

Super friends Christian Bale and Chris Nolan to re-team for 'Justice League'?

There is no "The Legend Ends" when there's money to be made ... and "The Avengers" to challenge.

Hot on the heels of rumors that Warner Bros. has scrapped Will Beall's "Justice League" script and is starting the project over from scratch comes word that the film is still very much a high priority at the studio -- and that "from scratch" might mean bringing in a tried and true superhero duo to make it work in time to take on "The Avengers 2" in Summer 2015 (and, in theory, "Star Wars: Episode VII," though we all know that J.J. Abrams, who took four years to make a "Star Trek" sequel, won't have it ready by then, right?).

Latino Review, who's been slinging super-scoops left and right lately, reports that Warner Bros. has brought in "Dark Knight" mastermind and "Man of Steel" producer Christopher Nolan to "completely take over the DCU [DC Comics Universe] ... so anything having to do with these superheroes goes through him now."
