Once Upon a Time Casts Walking Dead Actress

Once Upon a Time is adding Sonequa Martin-Green to its ranks for Season 2 — if not beyond.

TVLine has learned that the actress, whose TV credits include The Walking Dead and The Good Wife, will appear in multiple episodes as Tamara. No further details on the character were made available, though early intel suggested that she could spill over into Season 3 of the ABC drama.

Martin-Green appeared this season on The Walking Dead, just before the hiatus, as Sasha, one of the prison newcomers Carl sequestered from his group. On The Good Wife, she enjoyed a run as Courtney, the assistant Alicia poached from Martha Plimpton’s Patti Nyholm.

Madonna Crushes Concert Competition In 2012 With $296 Million

The music industry has minted some new arena and stadium stars lately, but one look at the top-grossing tours of 2012 and you might think we're in a time warp.

Though her album sales are not on par with her 1980s heyday, Madonna can clearly still put glittery butts in seats. According to Pollstar, she easily topped the list of the year's highest-grossing tours with $296.1 million, besting another Reagan-era rival, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, whose tour raked in $210.2 million. Former Pink Floyd leader Roger Waters had a very good year as well, pulling in $186.4 million on a list of the top 50 worldwide tours whose combined gross was $3 billion.

Snoop Lion Lights Up Dubai on New Years, bless St. Broadus

Only in Dubai will a VIP queue be longer and more disorganised than the standard
entry. And while the people in the standard entry were let in and enjoyed the
early acts at Monday night’s Atelier New Year’s Eve concert at Meydan, the VIP
queue continued to snake upon itself as seemingly nobody was permitted entry.

The longer people waited, the more tempers grew. After two hours the queue had
descended into a Lord of the Flies-esque scenario before people surged forward
and the gatekeepers finally relented and let people in.

Inside, chaos continued at the refreshments area, while Gorillaz Sound System
brought their fictional world to life with upbeat hip-hop, R&B and electronica
including the Run the World (Girls) master track and a The Streets-type garage
and dub vibe.

Random fights ensued in the highly-charged atmosphere as the crowd got swaying,
loosening their hips and trying to mellow down to the Snoop vibe.

Meanwhile, DiCaprio, Connolly, Suplee and Hill soaked up the sun and the sights of Sydney aboard a luxury cruiser on the Harbour, stopping by floating bar, The Island.

The Today Show Continues Its Attempt to Sweep All the Daytime Emmy Drama Awards

Ann Curry is begging NBC bosses to let her out of her contract so she can accept a high-profile anchor job at CNN.

Curry is reportedly earmarked for Anderson Cooper's coveted 8pm slot at the rival TV station by her former Today show boss, Jeff Zucker, who will take over as president of CNN Worldwide in February.

If she quits without the green light from NBC, a clause in her contract bans her from working for any other news outlet.

'Ann wants out of her contract, big time,' a source close to the situation told RadarOnline. 'She has formally asked her attorney to explore exit options from the network.'

But the website claims NBC bosses are unwilling to release Curry without a fight.

Is Union J locked in management dilemma?

Another day, and another tabloid story regarding one of the contestants from this season of “The X Factor” UK. On Sunday, the talk was all about the rumors that Rylan Clark could be replacing Olly Murs as the new co-host on “The Xtra Factor,” and today the subject is on something rather different altogether: whether or not Union J is drifting away from their long-rumored choice of manager in Louis Walsh.

At the time of the show’s finale, it was made very clear to many that the boys intended to sign with the man helped build Westlife into a success, and also worked with them through the entirety of the singing competition this year. According to The Sun, the band is now trying to decide between Walsh and Ortise Williams of JLS, a man who knows that modern music industry well in addition to what it takes to actually be in a successful boy band

Here is what one source had to say on this very subject to the tabloid:
“The boys had a massive wobble over Louis Walsh … Louis has management experience but Oritsé has youth and the knowledge of being in their shoes on his side. People think Louis is past it for a band like this.”
As for who they end up signing with, we will probably not know the answer until some point next year.

XFactor winner James Arthur starts work on debut album

X Factor 2012 winner James Arthur is set to kick off work on his debut album this week.  The singer-songwriter previously said he wanted to put out his record as soon as possible, rather than waiting a year like past winners.

James secured the first number one of 2013 this week as his winner’s track Impossible returned to number one for the second time in two weeks on Sunday night’s latest Top 40 chart.  The track has sold over 900,000 copies so far, making it the fourth biggest selling X Factor debut to date, ahead of even Leona Lewis.  And with the song still holding strong in the charts, we wouldn’t be surprised if it soon overtakes the remaining three songs too.

According to The Sun, James is set to get working with British producer Fraser T Smith on his debut album, with the music mastermind having previously worked with the likes of Adele and Leona Lewis (and Dappy from N-Dubz).
But while James has been signed to Sony Music after winning the show last month, it’s still undecided what label he’ll join.  Usually Simon Cowell’s personal Syco brand look after the acts, but bosses may instead be giving the project to Columbia, who also oversaw Matt Cardle’s debut album.  And we all saw how well that went…

Rylan Clark Favourite To Win Celebrity Big Brother

Former The X Factor hopeful Rylan Clark could be about to get a second bite of the celebrity cherry.
The popular XF star has already been installed as 3/1 favourite for the upcoming Celebrity Big Brother, despite the fact that Channel 5 have yet to officially announce the line-up.
Against all the odds, Rylan made it to the quarter finals of The X Factor 2012, and even though he was unlikely to take the TV talent show crown, bookmakers Ladbrokes believe he will emerge victorious from the CBB house.
Just behind Rylan in the betting are Ryan Moloney - otherwise known as Toadfish from Neighbours - who has been given odds of 5/1, along with jockey Frankie Dettori.
Ex-EastEnders actress Gillian Taylforth, Corrie's Sam Robertson and Steps singer Claire Richards all currently stand at 8/1 in the Ladbrokes betting.
Tricia Penrose, Jim Davidson, and married couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are also thought to be entering the house - which was revealed last week - when it launches on 3 January.

CNN Is Like ONTD: They Hate Things Without Valid Reasons

'The Hobbit' One of the Top 10 Worst Movies in 2012 According to CNN

CNN.com writer Tom Charity has posted his 'The 10 worst movies of 2012' and decided to controversially include 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' on the list. It should be noted, he specifically calls out the 48fps experience as being the 'worst' - not the actual film itself. Though he does take a dig at the length of the latest Middle-earth tome. The facts about 'The Hobbit' seem to paint a different picture: RottenTomatoes Critic index of 65%; RottenTomatoes audience rating of 81%; CinemaScore rating of 'A;' Ringer Review average of 4.5/5; Three week lead at the international box office; and breaking multiple December box office records. Looking at Mr. Charity's other films on the list, most have a RottenTomatoes.com rating of < 30% and only one breaks the 50% mark.

I cannot deal with the stupidity of this writer. He basically hated The Hobbit because of the 48fps 3D version. What a FUCKING idiot. He just pulled the hate out of his ass cuz there was nothing else he could hate on. And there are 3 movies cuz PJ included EVERYTHING from the book and whatever else was mentioned of the Hobbit in the LOTR books.

Meet Future Fave? Sevyn Streeter

On track to make her debut in the coming months, Streeter is no stranger to the music business. In the past, she has penned a number of tracks for Brandy, Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Estelle and more. She has also had the pleasure of working very closely with Chris Brown during his career. Now it's her turn in the spotlight. Streeter already released her first single, "I Like It," and says a debut album is on the way.

SEVYN STREETER: Sevyn Streeter is a singer. A performer. A writer. Just a lover of music. I love music. I'm obsessed with it.

ESSENCE.com: You've worked very closely with Chris Brown over the years. What's the best lesson he's taught you as an artist?
STREETER: He definitely taught me to take my time and to not stress in the studio. I'm a little bit obsessive and I'll do a take 20 times. He doesn't really let me do that and it's helped me so much. Even video wise—he was on the set of my video and was giving me pointers on how to come across through the camera. Little things here and there. No matter what arena we're in, he always has some type of advice for me.

Kathy Griffin Kisses Anderson Cooper's Crotch On National Television

No matter what vulgar things Kathy Griffin does on CNN's live New Year's Eve broadcasts, the folks at the supposedly most trusted name in news continue to invite her back.

On Monday night's program, after first telling co-host Anderson Cooper "I'm going to tickle your sack," she shortly after midnight actually kissed his crotch (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Roughly eleven minutes into the program which began at 10 PM, Cooper commented about how on Twitter folks were suggesting that there should be a game that whenever he giggles nervously during the show, contestants have to take a drink.

Then, completely out of the blue, Griffin said, “I'm going to tickle your sack. You can say sack. That's not bad.”

An obviously nervous Cooper responded, “I don't know what you're talking about. I have no sack of gifts here.”

Original Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan play secret comeback gig

Reunited trio make their live comeback with a secret set at a London New Year's Eve party

The original Sugababes played their first gig since reforming as Mutya Keisha Siobhan last night (December 31).

Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy - the founding members of Sugababes - reunited last year (2012) to record a new album as Mutya Keisha Siobhan. The trio no longer own the rights to the Sugababes name, which is now used by a group consisting of three non-original members.

The reunited trio took to the stage shortly after midnight at an intimate New Year's Eve party hosted by Ponystep magazine in east London. Their performance had not been announced in advance, but some fans had guessed that Mutya Keisha Siobhan would be the event's "Special Guests" because they appear on the cover of the magazine's latest edition.

The group began their secret set with a rendition of 'Overload', Sugababes' debut single from 2000. The group were not backed by a live band at the low-key show, but they showed off their trademark vocal harmonies over a backing track.

After they finished the song, Buchanan noted that tonight's show was the first time the original Sugababes had sung live together "since we were about 15". The trio, now in their late twenties, followed 'Overload' by performing another favourite from the first Sugababes album, the seasonally appropriate 'New Year'.

The group then surprised the crowd by covering Rihanna's 'Diamonds', a song that Buchanan called "one of the highlights of 2012". Mutya Keisha Siobhan wrapped up their four-song set by performing a bass-heavy version of Sugababes' 2002 chart-topper 'Freak Like Me' - which was actually recorded after Donaghy had left the group.

Although the group played no new material, they left the stage promising that the Mutya Keisha Siobhan album will be coming out in 2013. According to Buchanan, it contains "some sick shit".

Will Martin Lawrence Sue Trinidad James?

b82vxz

Rumor has it Martin Lawrence is not too happy with rapper Trinidad James.

It seems that there are just one too many similarities between the up-and-coming artist and one of Marty Mar's dearest creations- the Martin personality "Jerome" for his liking.

Jerome is known as the gold teeth wearing, afro-puff rocking, word-slurring, over-the-top character Martin created and portrayed over the years. And if you are a fan of Trinidad James, you know the similarities are uncanny. And, due to the similarities, there are reports that Martin Lawrence is thinking of suing. Allegedly, the show's creator, Gerald Levin, stated: “Nobody’s that unattractive in real life. Gold chains, gold rings, and rotten teeth, that’s Jerome!! …Martin created that." If this is in fact true, we're not really sure if he can prove his case here, but these days people can sue for just about anything. Only time will tell. source 1 2

Russell Crowe Agrees with Adam Lambert on Les Mis

Just a couple of days since Adam Lambert critiqued some of the Les Miserables actors for “pretending to be singers,” someone from the cast finally responds.

Although Lambert complimented the actors on giving emotional performances, and praised many for stellar vocals and acting especially Anne Hathaway which he called breathtaking, he thought the singing was at times distracting and dislikes how "Hollywoods movie musicals treat the singing as the last priority.”

And it looks like he's not alone in his assessment - at least partially.

Russell Crowe responded to a fan's inquiry about whether he'd seen Lambert's tweets, stating "I don't disagree with Adam." He went on to acknowledge that the vocals could have been "sweetened," but that the director "wanted it raw and real, that's how it is." He apparently saw no harm in Lambert's opinion. (source)

So, it seems the actor most criticized for his vocals doesn't mind the critique at all. Interesting.
