‘Breaking Bad’ season 5: Aaron Paul talks first episode of finale season + tweets portion of script

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

With “Breaking Bad” being on hiatus until next year, news about the show is fairly scarce right now, but thanks to Aaron Paul we’ve learned that the scripts to the final season of the popular AMC series have finally started to be distributed to the actors and so far it’s said to be mind blowing.

Paul recently finished reading the first episode of the final season of “Breaking Bad” and while he wasn’t able to give any spoilers as to what’s going to happen to Walt and Jesse in that first episode, what he did say makes us tremble in our seats in excitement for what’s to come. Aaron posted a message on his Twitter account to tell fans how incredible the first episode script is, saying: “I just finished reading the first episode of the final season of Breaking Bad and words can not express what I just experienced. Holy s***.  I’m telling you!! The tension in this episode alone made my head explode a little bit.”

[Rest of article]

If there was ever a more perfect word for what we expect to come from the final season of “Breaking Bad” it’s “tension”, especially when it comes to Jesse and Walt’s relationship. These two men have been through hell and back together, so it was a little sad (and also fairly liberating) to see Jesse make the decision to stop working with Walt and try to get his life back in order. Will Jesse be able to break free? Will Walt’s cancer return? Can Walt make amends with the people he’s hurt or is it too far gone? Hopefully these are some of the questions we will get answers for next year.

“Breaking Bad” the final season won’t be back on the air until July 2013, so fans have a pretty long wait to see how the whole thing will end, and with only 8 episodes left to tie everything up it’s likely that they will be jam packed with action, emotion and of course meth.

Predicted X Factor winner Christopher Maloney was a hit with the girls

Face of an Angel: "He was a heartthrob and has grown into one too."

Sporting a cricket sweater and tight white shorts, he happily poses next to the Virgin Mary as a seven-year-old. But despite the dodgy fashion sense, his proud sister Trisha revealed the X Factor star was a hit with the girls in his class.

She told the Sunday People: "At primary school he had a set of twins after him. It didn't go anywhere though. I think they are still good friends. He was a heartthrob and has grown into one too."

She added: "To be honest he didn't like school, he got picked on and got into quite a few arguments. It was because he was into singing and drama."

She said of Tulisa: "It's not nice when I see him being put down. Tulisa has been the worst. She's said negative comments every week, she's not into his music. He's lucky he has Gary to support him."

Huge news for Beyonce fans! The singer will reportedly release new music before her February Super Bowl performance.

"Definitely," said The-Dream when asked if Beyonce would release a new song before the Super Bowl. "She's got her stuff going. She took the summer to start recording, and now she's in a place where she's ready to start gearing up to reveal her plan."

"She's already gearing up to get ready to put stuff out," The-Dream continued. "I'm sure there will probably be a couple records you hear before the Super Bowl gets here."

The Queen is trying to kill us with anticipation.  I swear to God that pig better not be just talking bull shit.

Emily and Will have already been through some awkward times together in their short run at Denver Memorial. Coming into their internships, the two were on fairly good terms having made it through medical school together, but in the first six episodes of Emily Owens M.D., that friendship has become much more strained. Thanks to Emily blurting out her feelings for him and making him not date Cassandra before going back on her word, they're at a delicate place in their relationship that being in a highly stressful work environment can only exacerbate.

This post is early because I have a 7:30 am class and it's already 6:30 oop. Anyway go watch Emily Owens MD tonight at 9 pm on the cw! Stream it on the cw website, buy it on itunes and check in to get glue! IMO someone should post the BTS for tonight's episode when it comes out.

Rihanna, Bruno Mars, & Justin Bieber Perform at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Sex was in the air at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars provided the soundtrack as the world’s hottest supermodels ripped the runway in lingerie during the annual affair, which aired last night on CBS.

RiRi took the stage in a stunning black gown and pearl necklace to perform her No. 1 single “Diamonds,” getting hands on with the supermodels including Doutzen Kroes. She strut down the catwalk to her new song “Phresh Out the Runway,” giving the models a run for their money.

Dressed in all white, Justin Bieber had the models singing along as he performed “Beauty and a Beat,” sitting down at the piano for an acoustic rendition of “As Long As You Love Me.”

And not to be outdone, Bruno Mars seduced the supermodels with his charm and hits “Locked Out of Heaven” and “Young Girls” off his upcoming album Unorthodox Jukebox.

The Town: What Moriarty Did Next (Airs tonight)

The last time Andrew Scott made a big impression on the small screen was back in January, playing the fiendishly clever Moriarty in Steven Moffat's equally ingenious Sherlock. In one of the great television talking points of the year, the brain–teasing denouement to series two, The Reichenbach Fall, saw Holmes's nemesis shooting himself on top of St Bart's hospital in order to force Benedict Cumberbatch's detective hero to take an apparently fatal plunge.

For his mesmerising reinvention of Arthur Conan Doyle's arch villain, by turns camply insouciant, cerebrally intense, disarmingly down–to earth and savagely horrible, the 36–year–old Irishman scooped a Bafta award for Best Supporting Actor. His latest television project, a three–part drama for ITV, is every bit as intricately plotted as Sherlock but casts him in a very different light. Instead of being a criminal mastermind, his starring role in The Town presents him as the victim of unforeseen circumstances: 30–year–old Mark Nicholas, forced to return home by a tragic event and to turn amateur sleuth in the market town of his youth.Collapse )

I hope he wins all the BAFTAs forever. I love him sfm. Also, I listened to a radio recording of "Cock" recently and I really enjoyed it so I'm looking forward to this a lot! :D

Elisabeth Moss filming scenes for Mad Men

After six seasons of Mad Men, Elisabeth Moss must be used to the 60s style costumes that are a part of the show.

The actress was spotted shooting scenes for the new season of the successful show on Tuesday in a very retro outfit.

With her hair in the old fashioned up do and donning a navy and orange suit, the star looked every inch the 60s screen siren.

Elisabeth, 30, was spotted chatting to her co-stars as they geared up to shoot scenes outside Little Dom's restaurant in Los Angeles.

She later covered up her unusual attire with a checked coat and carried around a matching tote bag.

Fans of the Emmy award winning show will be happy to know that filming for the sixth season is currently in full swing.

Scott Evans BUSTED for Undercover Drug Buy

Former soap actor Scott Evans -- younger brother of Chris Evans -- got busted for attempting to buy drugs off an undercover cop ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us Evans was arrested Tuesday evening when he tried to score narcotics from an LAPD officer posing as a dealer.

Evans -- who played Officer Oliver Fish on "One Life to Live" a few years back -- was booked at 6:15PM for attempt to possess a controlled substance ... a felony. He bailed out around 12:30AM.

It's unclear what drug Evans was trying to buy.

Evans reacted to the bust with a Facebook post early this morning: "Most ridiculous night of my life in LA so far. At least I made it a year before getting arrested."

Vino Alan: Why was I cut when Cece Frey is still there?

"CeCe is in there, everybody - and they cut me.
I don’t know if they’ve got different ears on."

After dissing the X Factor for focusing too much on Pop music and not enough on inspiring "real artists" like himself - eliminated Vino has a new target: Cece Frey.

When asked if he had any predictions about the remainder of the season, Vino spoke very candidly. “Man, seeing this –- and I don’t mean this boisterous at all –- that they cut me, I don’t know. It is anybody’s game."

"CeCe is in there, everybody - and they cut me…I don’t know if they’ve got different ears on.”

Meanwhile, at KIIS-FM’s Jingle Ball, Cece said, "I don’t think the judges get what I’m doing; they don’t really get it yet. That’s fine with me, because there are people out there that do get it, and really like what I’m doing. I’m doing it for them!"

"I haven’t played all my cards on the show just yet. But I think as I progress in this industry, there are a few things musically that I want my fans to start getting revealed to them."

Australian radio show makes prank call to hospital treating Kate Middleton

Two Australian disc jockeys have managed to humiliate the hospital treating the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge by tricking a nurse on the ward into thinking she was speaking with Queen Elizabeth.

The hoax call to King Edward VII hospital in London went through in the early hours of Tuesday, giving the DJs a description of Kate's condition and treatment.

The hospital admitted it had been victimized by the call from hosts Mel Greig and Michael Christian at Australian radio station 2DayFM in Sydney.

A woman doing a less-than-perfect imitation of Queen Elizabeth told the nurse answering the phone: "I'm after my granddaughter, Kate. I want to see how her little tummy bug is going."

In the background, a man evidently imitating Prince Charles, soon to be a grandfather, was saying insistently, "Mummy … Mummy …."

The mimicked monarch was told that Kate, who is being treated for acute morning sickness as she and Prince William expect their first child, "hasn't had any retching with me, and she's been sleeping on and off.

"She's sleeping at the moment, and she has had an uneventful night …. She's been getting some fluids to rehydrate her, because she was quite dehydrated when she came in, but she's stable at the moment."

The hospital says it deplored the prank, and its telephone protocols are being reviewed.

"A fair bit of confidential medical information was given over the phone, which of course is now being broadcast around the world, so … very embarrassing for the hospital," said CBC correspondent Dominic Valitis from London.

WATCH: John Travolta And Olivia Newton-John Sing Creepy Duet, “I Think You Might Like It”

Why did John Travolta choose a song title like “I Think You Might Like It” for his first single off his duet holiday album with Olivia Newton-John? It’s not particularly Christmas-y—in fact it sounds like the kind of come-on line someone might use if they were trying to convince you to engage in a deviant sex practice.

Brandi Glanville: "My Son got sick eating LeAnn Rimes' Laxatives"

Brandi Glanville doesn't want LeAnn Rimes around her sons.

After Rimes tweeted she was flying out with "my boys" on Nov. 30, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told ex-husband Eddie Cibrian's new wife that her sons, Mason, 9 and Jake, 5, are not her boys. "They are my boys, Eddie's boys and your stepsons. . . for now," Glanville, 40, tweeted. But that's not all she has to say!

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly's Rebecca Bienstock, Glanville opens up about why she doesn't think Rimes -- who underwent a 30-day treatment program for stress and anxiety in August -- is fit to be around her children. In addition to Rimes posting a video of one of her stepsons riding a bicycle without a helmet, Glanville tells Us Mason became "extremely ill" after eating one of Rimes' laxatives by accident. "I, unfortunately, don't find her to be stable and I don't want her around my kids when Eddie's not there -- or at least the nanny, his parents, someone," Glanville says of Rimes. "Mason, my eldest, ate some of Le's candies and got extremely ill. And Le's candies are laxatives. It was a big f--king deal for me, and I lost my mind."

"She has one in every purse. Mason found on on the floor and thought it was a Skittle! They don't keep sugar in the house," Glanville explains. "He thought he finally found candy." (Responds Rimes' rep: "Just more inaccuracies and half-truths.")

"The whole impetus behind this story is very bizarre and when the network heard that I was directing this one and they knew that the last one I did was slightly strange and worked, they gave us the go-ahead," Gubler, who plays Reid, tells "They were like, 'We trust your writing. We trust Matthew's directing and we're going to let you do this crazy thing. Good luck.' That was the sign-off. I felt I had a little favorable treatment since the last ones I've done have been odd but effective. I've paid my dues!"

Jay-Z Takes Subway in New Documentary, Meets Older Woman Who Doesn't Know Who He Is

Jay-Z is just a man of the people.

And as if to prove it, H.O.V.A. hung out and chatted with an older lady named Ellen who has no clue who he was as he rode the subway to his final gig at Brooklyn's Barclays Center back in October.

The funny and touching exchange is part of a brief clip from Life + Times—a 24-minute documentary chronicling his role in the building of the arena— that popped up online Tuesday.

During their conversation on the R train, Ellen asks Jay-Z if he's famous, to which he humbly replies: "Yes, not very famous, you don't know me…but I'll get there someday."

The rapper then introduces himself, and Ellen asks him what he does.

"I make music," he answers before explaining he's on his way to the final concert in his eight-night gig celebrating Barclays' opening.

If Jay was looking for some motherly approval, he definitely got it.

"I'm proud of you," Ellen said.

The woman is Ellen Grossman, who is an artist herself.

Matt Damon Says 'Bourne Legacy' Makes It Hard for Him to Return

Last time Matt Damon, star of the original 'Bourne' trilogy, was out doing press, he said he hadn't seen "The Bourne Legacy," this past summer's extensive reboot of the franchise that placed Jeremy Renner at the center of the action. The film upped the franchise's science-factual underpinnings by having Renner's character (part of the next generation of government-sanctioned killers) controlled by a series of drugs that would boost his reflexes and intelligence. When we spoke with Damon about the sequel/prequel yesterday, during the actor's press rounds for the upcoming "Promised Land," he did confirm that he's seen the movie but said that it might make it harder for him to re-enter the franchise.

"I did see it…" Damon said, trailing off. When we asked him what he thought of the movie, he said: "I think it's going to make it harder for us to make another one. I'm just trying to figure out like… Because they used our characters, anything that happens in that world, that's the 'Bourne' world now. So the pill popping and all that stuff happens." When we suggested that Damon's Bourne character was actually from a different era of the project, he conceded a little bit. "Right, I'm from a different program," Damon said.

When we asked if he would do one with Renner, he sounded even more skeptical. "I don't know what that story would be," Damon said. "I love Jeremy and I'm a huge fan of him and I know him personally and love him outside of work, too. But I just don't know what that story would be. I could never see Bourne teaming up with anyone. And all he said was – he wanted out, he wanted out, he wanted out. So how do you get that character going again?"

Damon said that this was a problem that he had faced before, back when he and Paul Greengrass (who directed "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" and re-teamed with Damon for "Green Zone") were trying to hammer out plans for the fourth film in the franchise. "Literally, we couldn't figure out how to do it three years ago," Damon said. He then broke down why, exactly, a 'Bourne' movie came out this year anyway. "The studio had a deal with the Ludlum estate and they had to get a 'Bourne' movie out. So they said to us, 'Why don't you guys do one?' And we said, 'We don't know what to do!' So once they realized we weren't going to solve that problem, they went a totally different way."

I'm a fan of Renner but this movie wasn't good. The quality of the cast and acting can only do so much for a film if the plot is weak...

Justified Season 4 Promo

The next couple of weeks will see a number of our favorite TV seasons coming to an end, particularly after last night’s ‘Boardwalk Empire‘ and ‘The Walking Dead‘ finales. Soon we’ll lose ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ ‘Dexter‘ and ‘Homeland‘ as well, so what ever will we have to pass the time? Why, the fourth season of FX’s gunslinger drama ‘Justified,’ of course! Right on time, FX has served up a new trailer of the latest year for Raylan Givens, with new villains and challenges around the bend. Ready for some long, hard times to come?

Many of our favorite shows might be going on hiatus, but ‘Justified’ season 4 is only about to begin. The new season kicks off on Tuesday, January 8, but you don’t need to wait that long for a first look at Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder back in action, courtesy of FX’s new trailer!

Not only does the new preview offer a look at at the snake-handling church Boyd Crowder finds himself embroiled in, but also highlights a new relationship dynamic for Raylan and his imprisoned father Arlo (Raymond Barry). Less visible are any of the season’s new guest stars, which include Ron Eldard as a military police sergeant with ties to Boyd Crowder, as well as comedian Patton Oswalt as a constable and old friend of Raylan Givens.

wiz khalifa on track to debut @ #1 next week

Eggnog! Presents! Cookies! More Eggog!

That's what it sounds like in our heads these days, but we may as well go on pretending to work while the boss is around.

Hey, here's an idea: You ask us about next week's likely sales numbers, and we'll pretend to know something about that.

O.N.I.F.C., the very latest offering from Atlantic's Wiz Khalifa, is on course to sell somewhere in the 135-145k range, making it a contender for #1 next week against chart stalwarts Rod Stewart (Verve) and Taylor Swift (Big Machine).

How will the week's other new releases stack up? We're glad you asked. RCA's Ke$ha should be able to afford plenty of whiskey-flavored toothpaste with an 80-85k bow, while Big Machine/Republic country beau hunks Florida Georgia Line chug into the holidays with a 50-55k debut.

But what does O.N.I.F.C. stand for, you ask? Some say it's "Only N***** in First Class," but we like to think it's "Oh, Now I Feel Christmas-y."

Listen to a New M.I.A. Track, "AtTENTion", Which She Leaked to a Persistent Group of Fans

Never one to choose the traditional path of releasing new music, M.I.A. has put out a new song through a back channel. After a group of fans banded together to collectively harangue her for new music on Twitter, she obliged them and e-mailed one a new track called "atTENTtion", which has since been leaked on YouTube, as Popjustice points out. Now, it has been confirmed that this is, indeed, a new M.I.A. song.

It's classic M.I.A.: "The fullest attempt in my intent/ Is to let you know what is important/ My existence is militant/ Cause my content bangs like it's potent." No word yet whether this will appear on the upcoming Mathangi, which doesn't have a release date as of yet.

This leaked a couple days ago. I've been waiting for a legitimate source.

Papa John's, Applebee's And Others Pay Huge Price For Anti-Obamacare Politicking

It turns out that being a good corporate citizen is as important to selling pizzas as the thinness of the crust or the quality of the cheese.

If you don’t believe it, just ask Papa John CEO, John Schnatter.

As covered—and criticized—in this column in great detail, Mr. Schnatter decided to mix his politics with his pepperoni when suggesting that he would be cutting the work hours for Papa John employees in order to bring them below the 30 hour per week threshold that would require Schnatter to provide his employees with healthcare benefits.

It turns out, the pizza eating public did not approve.

Indeed, so serious was the reaction that Schnatter was forced to publish an op-ed piece where he sought to convince us that he never really intended to cut back worker hours but had simply been speculating on what he might do in response to the legislation.

According to YouGov BrandIndex, a leading marketing survey that measures brand perception in the marketplace (called “Buzz”), Papa John’s had good reason for concern as the pizza chain’s brand identity has plummeted from a high of 32 on election day, to a remarkably low score of 4 among adults who have eaten at causal dining restaurants during the past month.

Julian Lennon launches photo exhibit in Miami

Julian Lennon -- the oldest son of the voice of the Beatles -- will exhibit a new collection of his melancholy photographs, called "Alone," at a prestigious art show to raise money for his charity.

In his second visit to Miami to promote his photography, Lennon is selling about a dozen prints with prices ranging from $3,500 to $5,500, modest by the standards of the popular international Art Basel Miami Beach show.

"I've been a philanthropist for all my life, and ... I've had many involvements in humanitarian and environmental issues," Lennon, 49, told AFP, referring to his WhiteFeather Foundation.

"Whatever work I do, I've always put at least ten percent aside (for) my foundation," he said ahead of the show, which runs from December 6-9.

"What we're trying to do here, and that's why I'm so happy to be part of this, is we're trying to make everybody else see that. Because there is a lot of money, obviously. And the idea is to put it back in schools," Lennon said.

Julian Lennon was able to build a close relationship with Paul McCartney -- the singer dedicated "Hey Jude" to him when he was just five years old to help him feel better after his parents, John Lennon and Cynthia Powell, divorced.

Julian also inspired Beatles hits "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "Good Night."

He has composed his own music to help benefit the foundation, and his latest photo exhibit is a follow-up to an earlier showing, 2009's "Timeless."

John Lennon was largely absent from Julian's life; he also made statements indicating that Julian was not planned, unlike his son with Yoko Ono, Sean.

Asked about how his father influenced his art, Julian Lennon said: "What his work has shown many people is that you can actually be an individual in this world, and you don't have to be a sheep. And you can achieve things."

George Takei beams into the Archie Comics universe

The 'Star Trek' star and gay-rights advocate appears in an issue of 'Kevin Keller.'

The former Star Trek star and pop-culture fan favorite is coming to Riverdale in the pages of Archie Comics' Kevin Keller No. 6, out today. Kevin Keller, the company's popular gay character, is a Takei fan and the catalyst that brings the actor and his husband, Brad, into the comic.

As an advocate for LGBT affairs, just like Kevin in his comic, Takei felt his appearance would be a wonderful way to reach young people who may be isolated because of their family beliefs and communities.

Seeing the illustrated version of himself was just icing on the cake.

"I was flattered because I had more hair, and Brad was flattered because he had less waistline," Takei says with a laugh. "Isn't that the wonderful thing about comics? Riverdale is an idealized society, and it's an idealized Brad and me."

CBS CEO Les Moonves gets snarky over Angus T. Jones

CBS CEO Les Moonves addressed the controversy surrounding Angus T. Jones of "Two and a Half Men" at an industry breakfast hosted by the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

"We took this boy [Jones] who started with us when he was eight years old, and it seems to be what happens with child stars over the course of time," Moonves said. "He's now making over $300,000 per week, which is not a bad salary for a 19-year-old kid, and he went on a religious channel and urged people not to watch the show because it was filth. By the way, he's still collecting his $300,000 per week."

Moonves was cagey about whether Jones still has a job. When asked if he was in the market for a new “half man,” Moonves replied, "We have other plans. I don't know what our status is with him.” He then joked, "After going through what we went through with Charlie Sheen, it's been a piece of cake."
In a widely seen online video, Jones called the CBS sitcom "filth" and urged people not to watch it. Explaining that the show was in conflict with his religious beliefs, Jones said, “People will see us and be like, 'I can be a Christian and be on a show like ‘Two and a Half Men.' You can't. You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can't."

Jones later apologized. In a statement, he said, "Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on 'Two and a Half Men' with whom I have worked and over the past 10 years who have become an extension of my family."

Moonves, who is married to television personality Julie Chen, has a history of playing a strong hand when it comes to decisions around CBS, even though his position as CEO puts him far above such matters. "I'm very involved," Moonves said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal earlier this year. "It's probably sometimes overbearing and annoying, but I know what I'm talking about." It was Moonves who made the decision to re-cast the female lead in "The Big Bang Theory" after the pilot was shot. He thought the show would benefit from a "girl next door" type that the audience could relate to. Turns out he was right. The show is a ratings monster.

Should Moonves decide to give Jones his walking papers, the young actor can take comfort that his former costar Charlie Sheen has offered him a role on his new show, "Anger Management." Sheen told ABC News, "My former nephew is welcome at the Goodson Anger Management home anytime."

Benedict Cumberbatch says Star Trek character is "not clearly good or evil"

Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that he’s not playing an out-and-out villain in the new Star Trek movie, describing his character as “not clearly good or evil”.

Speaking at a Tokyo press event to promote Star Trek Into Darkness, the Sherlock star said that he plays “a complicated character” in the film who is “not to be judged by white-or-black”.

"He is very ruthless,” admitted Cumberbatch. "He is not a clearly good or evil character. He is a villain but the actions he takes have intent and reason."

The first trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness will be released tomorrow, which should hopefully shed a little more light on Cumberbatch's role in the film.

But Into Darkness’s producer/director J.J. Abrams also opened up a little about Cumberbatch’s part at the Tokyo conference, describing his character as “scary”.

In quotes obtained by, he said:  "The character is a villain and scary, but I was looking for an actor with humanity who audiences can sympathies with.

“When I saw Benedict in Sherlock, I wanted to convince him whatever it took. I expected a lot from him, but Benedict responded by acting beyond my expectations."

Cumberbatch was warmly welcomed to Japan by Star Trek and Sherlock fans when he arrived at Tokyo’s Narita airport yesterday, and a poster for Into Darkness was released earlier this week which appears to provide the first glimpse of his Star Trek character (albeit only from the back).

Star Trek: Into Darkness is expected to be released in the UK on 17 May 2013.

The Top 10 TV Episodes of 2012 (according to Time Magazine)

As a supplement to this article (and this post) from Time's James Poniewozik, this is his list of the Top 10 TV Episodes of 2012.

5. Girls, “The Return”

One of Lena Dunham’s stated influences in this coming-of-age series was Paul Feig and Judd Apatow’s Freaks and Geeks, and this episode makes clear that it wasn’t something she said just to be polite to her co-producer Apatow. He co-wrote “The Return,” and the episode shares the setting of Michigan — where Dunham’s Hannah Horvath brings her personal baggage (and laundry) for a fraught visit home — guest star Becky Ann Baker (as Hannah’s mom) and, above all, a rare sense for the bittersweet feeling of realizing you’ve outgrown your childhood. Influences aside, “The Return” is also pure Dunham. She can be unsparing about Hannah’s self-absorption (as a confidence builder before going out, Hannah tells herself, “You are from New York, therefore you are just naturally interesting”). Yet as Hannah comes to terms with the idea that her parents are getting older too, she shows a new maturity. Sometimes, “The Return” tells us, growing up is something that happens while you’re standing in front of your mom and dad’s fridge.

Halle Berry, James Marsden and More Wanted to Return for "X-Men: Days Of Future Past"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Late last month we learned that both Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen will be playing parts in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and most recently it was reported that Hugh Jackman is in talks to return as Wolverine, but it appears that director Bryan Singer isn't just stopping there. In a feature about the developing superhero film, THR has revealed that the production is also looking to get Halle Berry, James Marsden and many of the other actors who played heroic mutants in the original trilogy to reprise their roles in the new film.

According to sources close to the production it shouldn't be too hard a sell to get the actors back either. Apparently their characters would only be shown in the "alternate dystopic future" where giant robots called Sentinels are created to destroy all mutants, and that wouldn't require a big time commitment. Plus there's the fact that Singer is back in the director's chair. Said the trade's source on the cast development, "'There is a lot of willingness to participate because of Bryan.'"

X-Men: Days of Future Past will go into production early next year and is currently scheduled to be released July 18, 2014.

Yes to more Storm, but no thank you to more Halle Berry as Storm.

Crate & Barrel's spin-off store Pulls "Lucky Beggar Wallet" After Backlash

On Tuesday night, a major retailer ended the day with an apology to customers.

"We made a bad decision when we purchased this product," Marta Calle, CB2's President and Chief Merchant wrote in a statement to Yahoo! Shine. "We apologize for the product and the insensitive language used in its description. We have pulled the product from our stores and our website. Please accept our apologies for this lapse in judgment."

The insensitive product is no longer available at CB2, Crate and Barrel's younger, edgier spin-off: A coffee cup wallet.

It may seem innocuous at first glance, but several news outlets took offense when the wallet appeared in CB2's latest catalog.

First of all, there was the product's name: "The Lucky Beggar Wallet," a reference to the coffee cup's use as a method of gathering spare change.

Then there was the description: "Street Fare. Inspired by the iconic blue and white coffee cup often seen in the hands of New York City panhandlers, this quirky wallet begs to be seen."

At a time when a record number of New Yorkers are homeless, not everyone considers desperation and poverty quite so "quirky."

Emile Hirsch pees on cactus

With a functioning bathroom just feet away, "Savages" star Emile Hirsch relieved himself outside a West Hollywood nightclub last night ... surrounded by strangers ... directly onto an innocent cactus.

Hirsch was outside Bootsy Bellows nightclub on the famous Sunset Strip -- along with his trusty red Solo cup -- when nature called ... and clearly ... the guy didn't feel like waiting in line to use the club's restroom. (It happens to the best of us.)

We're told the cactus is refusing to press charges.

Is “Historical Accuracy” a Good Defense of Patriarchal Societies in Fantasy Fiction?

Did you know that human history is full of examples of sexist, patriarchal societies where women were discriminated against? I’m sure you are, as a reader of The Mary Sue. I’m pretty sure you are as a person alive in the 21st Century, too. Yet so many of the historically inspired fantasy worlds we love are remarkably intent on reminding us of this.

When I raise this issue with someone, I often get some variation of this in reply. Sexism in (to pick the most obvious example) medieval fantasy is okay or even desirable, the thinking goes, because in the real European Middle Ages sexism was the status quo. There’s no denying that, but fantasy is called fantasy because it’s a fantasy. There were no dragons in the real Middle Ages either, but we don’t have a problem including them.

For me, a prime case study for this is Game of Thrones, being the medieval fantasy work that’s attained the most mainstream popularity in quite some time. So much popularity that you’ll find a cookbook inspired by it and its novel antecedents on endcaps at your local Barnes & Noble. Stumbling across it, I flipped open the front flap and was asked:

CeeLo and Christina cover Baby It's Cold Outside

CeeLo posted today an official audio cover of the song by him and ONTD's favourite pop artist, Christina.

Not my fav version but both sound very nice, Christina sounds very pretty in this version imo. My fav will always be the Zooey & Leon Redbone version, I'm biased because the first time I heard the song was on Elf and I LOVE that movie. Happy Holidays, ONTD!

Edit: Here is a good article on why this song is not "date-rapey". Ty to the users who posted this in the comments.

The GQ+A: The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus

When The Walking Dead's mid-season finale left Daryl Dixon's life hanging in the balance until February, the Internet almost collapsed. And for good reason: All we wanted for Christmas was to know that Daryl was safe and sound—and, if it wasn't too much to ask, to maybe see him playing Joseph to baby Judith's Jesus in a prison nativity scene. Instead, we're left listlessly trudging through the winter with haunting visions, recalling the premature departures of Jimmy Darmody and Ned Stark.

Our love of Daryl can be chalked up to the fact that Norman Reedus's nuanced portrayal of the southern lone wolf with a heart of gold adds a depth that can make the other characters seem one-dimensional. Somehow, he shows up first on our lists for every hypothetical situation (ex: Who would you most want to get a beer with? Who would you want with you in a knife fight? Who would you want to discuss the intricacies of Love Actually with?) In an exclusive interview, GQ caught up with Reedus, the actor who, armed with a crossbow and a scowl, has slaughtered his way into America's apple-pie heart.

2013 Grammy Nominations: Who to watch out for

Will Psy be the new Adele? Will Carly Rae Jepsen be the new Taylor Swift? Will the old Taylor Swift and the young Harry Styles have an excuse to walk the red carpet together?

Stars and storylines to look for from tonight's scheduled 2013 Grammy nominations announcement:

1. Actually, Frank Ocean Could Be the New Adele: He came out, and he broke out. Look for his statement- and career-making Channel Orange to be a talking point, and maybe a front-runner in Album of the Year.

2. Will Grammy Voters Dare Deny "Gangnam Style"? And deny themselves a Psy performance at the Grammys? Impossible. Even for the Grammys.

Ke$ha responds to Jenelle Evans Skipping Jail for her Concert: "You Go grrrl!"

At least one person backs up Jenelle's decision to attend a Ke$ha concert instead of serving her time in the slammer, as we saw on "Teen Mom 2." And no, that person would not be her stunned lawyer, Dustin, who tried in vain to convince her to make a practical decision. "It's not just a concert. It's Ke$ha," super fan Jenelle responded, refusing to give up her second-row seats for the law. "I'm obsessed with this girl!"

Most people watching the scene shook their heads in disbelief, but the artist herself thinks Jenelle's priorities are perfectly in place. "She is the reason I do what I do," Ke$ha said to Huffington Post. "Go grrrl don't let the man hold you down! We R Who We R!!!!" added Jenelle's "idol." Well, it's nice that Ke$ha is so supportive of her fans willing to do literally anything for her. But maaaaaybe encouraging skipping out on jail for the sake of music isn't the best advice in the world?

Ke$ha's wild child approval just shows, it really does take one to know one!

how qt of her to use her celebrity platform to validate extreme self-destructive behavior even when there's an innocent bb involved... what an asshole.

David O. Russell talks about 'Silver Linings Playbook'

Jennifer Lawrence is at the forefront of best actress Oscar talk for her lead role in “Silver Linings Playbook.” But, as writer-director David O. Russell explained to the audience at TheWrap screening series Thursday night, he was so convinced she wasn’t right for the role that he only had her audition via Skype.

“Quite frankly, it was like a formality,” Russell told the capacity crowd at the Landmark Theatre. “I didn’t think she was really a contender. We had three very serious contenders (already). We had a lot of major actresses in town interested in the role, from Angelina Jolie to some other big stars, because it’s a dimensional role for a young woman. Jennifer we frankly thought was too young” — until she pointed the tiny camera at herself at her parents’ home in Kentucky.

“She kind of has an ageless quality about her, which is remarkable,” said Russell. “Harvey (Weinstein) said, ‘Isn’t she too young?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, she could be 20, she could be 40. Look for yourself’— and I showed him the Skype (audition), and he said ‘Wow.’ So that was a blessing for us to find our Tiffany. She came onto the set saying to Bradley Cooper, ‘Wow, what’s it like for people to take pictures of you?’ By the end of the shoot [last November], I think she knew for herself. Now she can’t get rid of people taking pictures of her.”

Russell added that “we saw her become a woman before our eyes. She has a presence about her and an emotion that’s very available. She’s a little bit like her character. But she’s not neurotic; she’s direct, she speaks her mind. And she’s kind of confident and fearless—but so far, not in an obnoxious way. She has a lot of power coming her way she’s going to have to deal with.”

Skyfall beats Avatar to become the highest grossing movie in the UK

Before we get into this, a caveat: James Cameron can probably sleep soundly in his bed for a while yet. The only place in which Skyfall is bigger at the box office than Avatar is the UK. But that’s no mean feat in itself, given that Avatar was, until this week, the highest-grossing movie of all time at the UK Box Office.

Sorry, I’ve said that backwards. What I mean is, Skyfall is now officially highest-grossing movie of all time, in the UK, having taken a whopping £94,277,612 (somewhere in the region of $152,000,000) in just 40-odd days, and it’s still on general release.

Avatar, on the other hand, managed to gross a relatively paltry £94,025,632 in 11 months. Barely worth getting off the sofa for, really.

Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the film’s producers, told Film3Sixty: “We’re overwhelmed with gratitude to the cinema-going audiences in the UK who have made Skyfall the highest grossing film of all time.

“We are very proud of this film and thank everybody, especially Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes, who have contributed to its success.”

“I am incredibly proud of the amazing heights to which this film continues to soar and wish to again congratulate all involved on reaching such a tremendous milestone,” said Gary Barber, Chairman and CEO, MGM.

Peter Taylor, Managing Director, Sony Pictures Releasing UK, added: “It seems particularly fitting in 2012 that the latest James Bond adventure should become the highest grossing movie ever, marking the fiftieth anniversary of one of our truly iconic cultural characters in record breaking style.”
