NFL's Tyron Smith battles family

Family members have been pressuring Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyron Smith for money, sources told
According to a police report obtained by the Dallas Morning News, a 911 call was made after family members showed up at Smith's North Dallas home and proceeded to "harass and torment" him "in the pursuit of collecting financial gain."
It was just the latest in a series of attempts to get money from Smith, sources confirmed Thursday after the situation was first reported by the newspaper.
According to sources, family members have continued to ask Smith for money even after he gave them a large sum after he was picked ninth overall in the 2011 NFL draft and signed to a four-year, $12.5 million contract by the Cowboys.
Smith filed a protective order during the summer against his mother, Frankie Pinkney, and stepfather, Roy Pinkney, sources said. Smith has three sisters and two brothers, who also are prohibited from making contact with Smith on behalf of his parents.
Multiple sources told the Morning News that Cowboys security had to remove one of Tyron Smith's family members from the team's practice facility during training camp in Oxnard, Calif., about two hours from Riverside, where Smith's parents own a cleaning business.

Smith grew up working in the cleaning business with his mother and stepfather. After he was drafted, he talked lovingly of them, and the Cowboys mentioned how well he was raised.
Smith is being represented by Dallas-based attorneys Royce West and John Schorsch, who said the player was forced to turn to authorities to handle the matter.
"Lesser means were tried and they weren't successful," Schorsch told the Morning News. "You can use your own imagination as to what it took for a guy that big and that imposing to be that worried."

Schorsch told Thursday that Smith is "a good kid. This is hard on him. But he's handled this with dignity and grace, I'm proud of the manner in which he's handled it."

The Ladies Of 'The Talk' Say Lady Gaga's Comment About Adele Was Catty

Lady Gaga has just lost some fans, namely the woman on “The Talk”.

Following on from her comments that she felt she didn’t know why people were attacking her recent weight gain because fellow singer Adele is “bigger”, the show’s moderator, Julie Chen, especially took offense, going on to imply Gaga was a b@#ch.

The shows other ladies also felt that Gaga’s comments were out of order.

Their outrage was born from the pop singer’s remarks to Stylist UK, where she talked about being attacked in the media for piling on 30 pounds.

“Adele is bigger than me — how come nobody says anything about it?” she questioned. However, she did try to redeem her comment saying that Adele is ”so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match.”

A backhanded comment perhaps? What do you make of this weighty debate?

Britney Spears confirms return to ratings-void X Factor next year

When asked, she replied, "Yes, Definitely."

Britney Spears hasn't been bringing in the killer ratings "The X Factor" was hoping for when they shelled out $18 million for her to appear on the show -- so will she be back next season?

While the show has been greenlit for another go-around, it was unclear whether the pop star would be returning with it.

But when Spears was asked about it on the red carpet last night at a party for the finalists, she had a very clear answer.

A reporter asks her: "Do you think you'll be back for another season?"

She says, "Yes, Definitely."

Renowned artist James Franco being weird and sexy

The award winning artist shows off his latest stunning masterpiece.

Oz The Great and Powerful babe James Franco has posted photos of his bizarre artwork on celebrity blog WhoSay.

The photos show what appears to be a multi-coloured paint explosion all over Franco’s bed, body, and various other props including a massive stuffed bear.

The inclusion of Franco’s semi-clad belly and feet ever so slightly in frame is probably the most exciting element of the photographs, but fans of Franco will also be delighted by his face and chest selfies included in the package.

The Wall Street Journal has previously referred to Franco’s art as a “sort of creative schizophrenia” and after seeing these weird photos, we are inclined to agree.

Franco held an exhibition with similar works in 2010 called ‘The Dangerous Book Four Boys’ incorporating sculpture, photography, drawing, film and video; all around the themes of boyhood and teenage sexual awakening.

What do you think of Franco’s art?

louis doesn't know when to shut up

Louis Tomlinson: People who say I'm in a gay relationship with Harry Styles aren't real One Direction fans

So many pop stars are afraid to say what they really think.
Louis Tomlinson isn't one of them.

The Doncaster heartthrob, 20, is the most outspoken member of One Direction and one thing he's got annoyed about is constant online speculation he's gay and in a relationship with Harry Styles.

Some '1D fans' have even created fan fiction about it called 'Larry Stylinson'!

'I know,' Louis tells Now's Dan Wootton

'But a lot of them are so wrapped up in the conspiracy.

'Let me tell you now, they'll find a way to put some twist on this interview.'

Louis, who is dating 20-year-old student Eleanor Calder, admits this upsets him.

'I think it's pretty obvious when you see me and Eleanor together that it's real,' he says.

'Think of the amount of time I spend with her. It's crazy that I even have to say it's genuine.

'The truth is, these people aren't our real fans.

'That's the way I like to look at it.'

GRRM believes Boromir would kick Ned Stark's ass

Game of Thrones creator George RR Martin has admitted that Ned Stark would lose in a fight with Lord of the Rings character Boromir.

Sean Bean played both Boromir in the Lord of the Rings movies and Stark in HBO's adaptation of Martin's novels.

"I think Boromir is probably more of a warrior than Ned was," the writer told MTV Geek. "Ned was more of a lord, a ruler, a diplomat, a general."

He added: "In simple physical one-on-one combat, Boromir probably [would win]."

In the interview, Martin also considered who would come out on top in a bout between Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and between Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).

Sean Bean has previously stated that he is keen to return to Game of Thrones as the late Ned Stark, revealing that a flashback sequence featuring his character is "a possibility" in future.

The video won't embed properly, so here are the rest of the matchups (his answers are in bold):

Aragorn vs. Jaime
Smaug vs. Balerion
Saruman vs. Melisandre
Wargs vs. Direwolves
Ice vs. Glamdring
Frodo vs. Tyrion (lol, he said he wouldn't even pick Frodo over Sam)
Nazgul vs. White Walkers
Cave Troll vs. Mag the Mighty
Gimli vs. The Mountain
Ned Stark vs. Boromir

Brad Pitt’s Jealous Rage: Angelina Jolie Still In Love With Ex Husband Jonny Lee Miller

The Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie rumour mill is once again churning out duds – in the form of Jonny Lee Miller, Jolie’s ex-husband. According to a latest National Enquirer report, Jolie secretly annexed the TiVo and recorded Miller’s new television series, “Elementary”. This would have been perfectly abnormal even in any normal household, but we know of Jolie’s sordid history with Miller, and the fact that she told Brad Pitt that Miller’s new show was a “dud”.

According to a source at National Enquirer, Jolie recorded the premiere episode of “Elementary” on the 27th of September, but told Pitt that “she wanted to critique Jonny’s acting performance and see how he’s aged.” The moment the credits crawled up the screen, “Angelina told Brad that she thought the show was so bad she could barely make it through the entire episode.” Unfortunately, the TiVo breaking Jolie had been recording “Elementary” behind her husband’s back, and not only watched the episodes while he wasn’t around, but also screened the show to their small tribe of children. Diane Sawyer lookin' to score a spot between Hoda and Kathy Lee <3

(Newser) – If you were watching ABC's election coverage last night, there was probably just one question on your mind: Is Diane Sawyer really drunk, or just tired? Gawker has an amusing video montage that seems to support what many assumed: She was smashed. The video pieces together clips of Sawyer slurring and stumbling over her words, swaying in her seat, vehemently complaining about the lack of music, rambling about the exclamation point in Obama's campaign slogan, and at one point intensely reminding viewers that people have "died—literally died" for the right to vote. All the while, George Stephanopoulos looks on with, at times, apparent frustration at his inability to get a word in.

Ariel Winter removed from home after allegations of physical and emotional abuse

Ariel Winter, the 14-year-old actress who plays Alex Dunphy on "Modern Family," has been removed from her home by a judge in the wake of serious allegations of physical and emotional abuse by her mother ... court sources tell TMZ.

There's a report Ariel is seeking legal emancipation from her mom so she can be with her boyfriend, but that report is false.

Court sources tell us ... on October 3rd, after a guardianship hearing, a judge determined the allegations that Ariel was being physically and emotionally abused by her mother Crystal Workman were serious enough that the judge placed Ariel in a temporary guardianship with her older sister Shanelle Workman. Our sources tell us ... mama Crystal was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Ariel.

Ironically, we've learned Shanelle suffered the same alleged abuse as Ariel. Nearly two decades ago, the Department of Children and Family Services removed her from Crystal's home based on similar abuse allegations. Law enforcement sources tell us ... D.C.F.S. placed Shanelle in foster care for more than 2 years. She never went back to her mother.

According to court records, the judge has set another hearing for November 20.

Did the Internet Get Mark Wahlberg Cast in Transformers 4?

Two weeks ago, a rumor started to make the rounds that Mark Wahlberg would be playing the lead human role in Transformers 4. Director Michael Bay quickly squashed it and said they were just working on another project and that rumor was just a rumor. Last week, however, Bay posted this on his website:

"I squashed a rumor that was on the internet last week. It was about Mark Walhberg. Mark was rumored to be staring in Transformers 4. We are working on another movie together, not T4. I had such a great time working with Mark on Pain and Gain, and he gave such a great performance – well let’s say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas. We are at the inception of our story process right now on T4. Let’s say some ideas are gaining traction with me and my writer – so I’m here to say thanks internet chatter."

While this is by no means an official announcement, maybe we will be seeing Mark Wahlberg say hello to Optimus Prime's mother after all.

Transformers 4 is currently in development for a June 27, 2014 release. Bay has said in the past that this is likely the final Transformers adventure with him at the helm. Ehren Kruger is providing the screenplay which is rumored to take the storyline into outer space with a brand new cast of both humans and robots.

L.A. Voters Say Yes to Condoms in Porn

Voters in Los Angeles County had a spicier-than-usual decision to make on Tuesday's ballot. Measure B -- also known as the "Safer Sex in the Adult Film Industry Act" -- proposes that condoms be used on set by all male pornographic performers. And the measure has passed with a vote of 56 percent to 44 percent.

Citing growing STD outbreaks within the industry -- including several HIV transmissions -- the measure was created by AIDS Healthcare Foundation with the intentions of protecting the health of adult film performers.

The measure doesn't just mandate condoms. It requires adult film producers to apply for permits from the L.A. County Department of Public Health before shooting sex scenes, and will subject them to random inspections. Violations will result in fines, and, in some cases, criminal misdemeanor charges.

Representatives of the porn industry have been extremely vocal in their opposition to Measure B. James Deen, the crossover porn star who appears opposite Lindsay Lohan in the Bret Easton Ellis-scripted The Canyons, has been campaigning against the measure for months, at one point shooting a satirical video in which he and adult film star Jessica Drake engage in simulated sex wearing helmets. Deen also submitted to a Reddit Q&A session on the topic.

Deen argues that the new law will force production out of the state, costing Californians jobs and tax dollars. In an e-mail sent today to The Huffington Post, Deen says the adult film community is a mistreated minority.

"We are much like the homosexual, minority or female populations," Deen writes. "We are a community of tax-paying and law-abiding voters who are currently being persecuted. But our opinions do matter, and I hope one day we get respect as these previously-stated groups and others have begun to receive."

It's Finally Here!!!!!! - First Full Trailer For Black Cowboy Western 'They Die By Dawn'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's been a little while since we last said anything about this; it's titled They Die By Dawn, a western featuring black cowboys, conceived and directed by Jeymes Samuel of The Bullitts (a collaborative group of artists - both music and film - headed by Samuel).

The all-star cast includes some fan favorites: Jesse Williams, Michael K. Williams, Bokeem Woodbine, Clifton Powell, Rosario Dawson, Giancarlo Esposito, Erykah Badu, and others.

But it's not a feature film unfortunately; it's a short (booooooo - OP) however, I wouldn't count out the potential for a feature adaptation, especially if response to the short is strong. And based on the below trailer, I'm definitely anxious to check this out in full.

The 30-minute film is reportedly based on a series of real-life stories.

Here's the synopsis:

Four outlaws with a bounty on each head, set a date for a shootout in Langston, Oklahoma. The last man takes the collective bounty. Violence and mayhem ensue.

‘Tarzan’ Reboot Moves Ahead With ‘Harry Potter’ Director; Tom Hardy to Star?

While Harry Potter franchise screenwriter Steve Kloves is looking to adapt Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book at Warner Bros (he'll also direct the film), one of the boy wizard's directors is going to work on a different jungle tale. Vulture has word that David Yates, who directed the final four installments of the Harry Potter franchise, will next take on a new big screen adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough's classic tale Tarzan, a project also set up at Warner Bros. The project has been in development for years with Ocean's 11 producer Jerry Weintraub, and Craig Brewer was most recently attached to direct but has fallen away.

In addition, the studio has some names in mind to play the man of the jungle. As one might expect, Warner Bros. would love to get their Inception and Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy on board, but it's not clear if he's interested. Other names include the new Man of Steel Henry Cavill, Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam and "True Blood" regular Alexander Skarsgård. Most of those names should make the ladies swoon if you think of them in the standard animal skin loincloth, but the only one proven to be a sensation at the box office is Hardy. Getting a lesser known name would certainly be cheaper though.

The real question is whether or not audiences still interested in the Tarzan story? Disney had their take on the classic tale in 1999, and there's a cheap-looking motion-capture animated version on the way with Kellan Lutz in the lead. With Yates at the helm, this could be the kind of classic adaptation that ends up feeling fresh and epic, much like what Peter Jackson did with King Kong (a film that I will defend to the death). Either way, it sounds like this project is next in line for Yates, so expect some more news soon. Hopefully Warner Bros. has better luck with Tarzan than Disney did with Edgar Rice Burrough's John Carter.

Julian Fellowes: I’d be shocked if Downton Abbey didn’t get a series 4

Downton, which finished on a high in the ratings when series three came to a close on Sunday night, is widely expected to run for two more seasons at least, but hasn't officially got the green light from ITV.

However, creator Julian Fellowes is hopeful that it's only a matter of time before he has free reign to create the fourth run of the show, for which it appears he already has a storyline plan.

Speaking to the Telegraph, he said: 'I would hope [there will be more] because of the response to this series, but you know [ITV] are always pretty close to their chest in terms of an actual commission.

'But I think I'd be surprised if there was not a fourth series. We knew who they all were [by series two]. And now we are really involved with them and that takes you forward another step.

Reflecting on the most recent instalment of the hit period drama, he added: 'I am pleased with this [third] series. I thought it worked well.

'It seems to me that the actors have made a very good job of it and the audience response has been great and they kept watching.'

The finale of series three aired on Sunday and drew in an impressive 10.7m viewers, beating the BBC's drama offerings that evening and trouncing the ratings for The X Factor, which used to be ITV's big-hitter.

There will probably be spoilers in the comments, so for those of you who have not yet watched series 3, I'd be wary of entering. For those of you who have watched/suffered through S3, what are your hopes for S4?

Robbie Williams criticised for punching OAP in 'Candy' video

Robbie Williams has been criticised for a scene in his latest music video which shows him punching an elderly woman in the face.

The video for 'Candy', Williams' latest single and the current Official UK number one sees the singer running through the streets of London as he attempts to get close to a mystery female he has fallen for. At one point, he punches an old woman so the object of his affection can walk down the street without interruption.

However, the National Pensioners Convention has attacked the video, with general secretary Dot Gibson telling The Sun: "Celebrities should think twice before making ageist comments which seem to imply that pensioners should be treated in a degrading way. Elder abuse is a serious issue and needs to be tackled rather than seen as a bit of a joke. We need to be uniting the generations, not suggesting that they are different. Pensioners are just young people who grew older.''

A spokesperson for Williams commented: ''Robbie Williams does not condone violence in any way; the plot for this particular video did involve some aggressive scenes but they in no way reflect his views on violence in real life. He was playing a particular role in the video."

It was recently confirmed that Robbie Williams has been effectively banned from Radio 1 after the station deemed him too old to feature on their playlist. Williams responded by saying he would 'break someone's legs' if Madonna was not also banished in the same fashion.

Ariel Winter's mom denies abuse allegations

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The mother of 14-year-old Modern Family star Ariel Winter denied Wednesday allegations she abused her daughter, who has a restraining order against her mom and has moved out of the house.

"It's all untrue, it's all untrue," Chris Workman tells PEOPLE.

According to court papers filed Oct. 3 in Los Angeles, Winter – who plays Alex Dunphy on the hit show – alleges her mother subjected her to "ongoing physical abuse (slapping, hitting, pushing) and emotional abuse (vile name-calling, personal insults about minor and minor's weight, attempts to 'sexualize' minor, deprivation of food, etc.) for an extended period of time."

A judge last month granted Ariel's older sister, Shanelle Gray, temporary guardianship and ordered Workman not to contact her daughter until further notice.

But Workman tells PEOPLE, "I have my doctor's letter that my daughter's never been abused. … I have stylists' letters that she's never been abused."

According to the papers, a judge granted Gray guardianship until a follow-up hearing Nov. 20 and ordered that Workman refrain from contacting Ariel pending further court order.

A rep for Winter could not be reached for comment.

Burn Notice' Renewed for Seventh Season

worst USA Network photohop ever tbh

USA has renewed long-running spy drama Burn Notice for a seventh season.

The cable network has picked up 13 episodes for the new season, pushing the hourlong to more than 100 episodes. Season seven will launch in 2013.

Burn Notice closed out its summer run of season six in August with nearly 5 million viewers tuning in. Paired with Suits, which was renewed for a third season, the two-hour block this past summer paid off for USA.

“Burn Notice is like a fine wine that gets better with age,” said USA Network co-presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel in a joint statement announcing the renewal. “Delivering high-octane action, gripping drama and nearly 7 million viewers for the mid-season finale, this veteran series is a proven staple of our portfolio.”

Created by Matt Nix, the Fox TV Studios/Fuse Entertainment-produced Burn Notice stars Jeffrey Donovan, Bruce Campbell, Coby Bell and Gabrielle Anwar. Executive producers include Nix, Mikkel Bondesen and Alfredo Barrios.

Burn Notice returns for the second half of season six 9 p.m. Thursday.

Overall, this show hasn't been fun for me ever since they started the Anson arc in season five.  I'm only excited about more chances to drink while this show is on and gif Fiona, tbh.

Make Sure Your Face Is Clean Now, Can't Have No Dirty Dead: Race, Gender, And “The Walking Dead”

By TK @

CAUTION: Here there be spoilers.

Maybe it’s because I don’t want to keep harping on it in my weekly reviews. Maybe it’s because by giving it its own article, I can somehow make myself realize that I’m not just being a smooshy lame overly sensitive liberal-type about these things. Maybe I just need a full article to get it off my chest. But seriously, folks: There’s something wrong with “The Walking Dead.”

“The Golden Age of TV” x TV Wives: A depressing undercurrent of misogyny

Earlier this week, there was a recap posted on Grantland about the latest episode of The Walking Dead, which made some great overall points about the show and its underselling of their own characters, and also touched on a very disturbing trend happening with most of our currently critically beloved shows – the absolute hatred most fandoms seem to have for the wives in them:

(btw, I shouldn’t have to point out how SPOILERY this is, since, like I already mentioned, it’s a recap of the latest episode – but still, just for good measure: Spoilers ahead.)

(…) As befits a character always treated as second-class, T-Dog’s dismemberment was overshadowed by a much more outrageous death last night. And the fact that it’s taken me 900 words just to get to the part of the episode that everyone is talking about reveals my ambivalence. To recap: In an act of perfect TV karma, Lori goes into labor while on the run from a swarm of walkers. In the relative peace and lack of hygiene of a boiler room, she realizes “something is wrong” and insists that Maggie cut the baby out of her, likely ending her life. With a level of uterine gore not seen since Prometheus and a dash of Oedipal agony unimaginable even by Sophocles, this is precisely what happens.

Now, in the short view, there is a part of me that admires the unblinking savagery of Mazzara’s vision. As appalling as everything that happened in the boiler room was, it certainly was consistent with the miserable universe The Walking Dead has created, a place where tough choices are inevitable, pain is unavoidable, and life — particularly young life — is to be protected at any cost. All actresses, inevitably, are asked to perform an agonizing birth scene at least once in their careers, and Sarah Wayne Callies was excellent here. For once, her innate fierceness was used for something other than accusatory snark; in her wide-eyed and desperate good-bye to her son, there was a hint of the ferocious and protective warrior/mother the character could have become with better development and more thoughtful scripts.

As quick as I’ve been to label Lori Grimes one of the worst protagonists on television, the intensity of fan hatred has continually given me pause. There’s a depressing undercurrent of misogyny to a lot of the reaction toward TV wives these days, from Skyler White to Cat Stark. It’s something I’ve been guilty of harping on as much as anyone. But a large part of the blame rests in the writing, the perpetual creation of an impossible dynamic wherein the cool husband wants to do fun and/or violent stuff and the snippy wife is always trying to harsh his mellow. As a TV fan, I wasn’t unhappy to see Lori Grimes go. And the atrocity of it all brought out the best in the normally wooden Andrew Lincoln and certainly made the burden on young Chandler Riggs — who, thus far as an actor, has proven to be all hat and no cattle — even greater. But the exact way she went out was an even greater bummer than the irritating scold the character had become.

Lori’s final words to Carl, before sacrificing herself in front of his young eyes, sounded to me like an unnecessary apology, not a loving good-bye. “It’s so easy to do the wrong thing in this world,” she moaned. “If it feels wrong, don’t do it. If it feels easy, don’t do it.” What she was referring to, of course, was her utterly reasonable decision to bed down with Shane, a trusted and caring family friend, amid the looming horror of the end of the world. Her ongoing guilt and suffering for this is and has always been outrageous; surely a reality in which burying a machete into a man’s widow’s peak is a heroic act can forgive a little post-traumatic nookie. There’s a difference between the admirably unforgiving worldview Mazzara is trumpeting elsewhere and downright cruelty. There were plenty of reasons for Lori Grimes to die; it’s a shame that her capital offense turned out to be the simple act of being alive.

Kendrick Lamar FT. Lady Gaga - Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe (Demo)

DJWSVISION #2 reveals what was supposed to be of the Kendrick Lamar song Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe on his new album Good Kid, Mad City. When asked why she wasn't on the final cut, Kendrick said:

“[Lady GaGa was going to be on the song]. We had a date, but we had to meet the deadline for the pre-order date. That’s just the business side coming through and messing things up. But you know it’s God’s plan. I’m not really too tight about it because I know we have something special.”

Ben Browder Gets Guest Role on ARROW

Arrow Exclusive: Farscape and Stargate SG-1's Ben Browder to Play DC Comics Character Ted Gaynor

The producers of Arrow are not being shy when it comes to bringing in characters from DC Comics, with several slated to appear in upcoming episodes – some known for their appearances in Green Arrow comics, some pulled from other DC sources.

IGN has learned that we’ll be meeting another new DC character in the show’s 11th episode, as Ted Gaynor is introduced, played by Ben Browder.

On Arrow, Gaynor is Diggle’s commanding officer from his first tour in Afghanistan, who now works as a bodyguard for Blackhawk Squad Protection Group in Starling City. As a series of armored truck robberies strike the city, Gaynor proves to be a polarizing figure between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey).

Ted Gaynor first appeared in DC Comics in Blackhawk #266 in 1984, while a story arc a couple of years ago in Batman Confidential involved the former member of the Blackhawk Squadron taking on Batman, Blackhawk and Lady Blackhawk. While it doesn’t look like Arrow will be involving the Blackhawk character himself (at least not yet), there is still a big nod to Gaynor’s comic book history via the inclusion of the Blackhawk Squad name.

Browder is well known to sci-fi fans for his roles on both Farscape and Stargate SG-1, and recently, he’s guest starred on series like Chuck (OP: Chuck barely counted, his character was so lame) and Doctor Who. This will be Browder’s second time playing a DC Comics character – he previously voiced Bartholomew Lash on an episode of the animated Justice League series.

Browder will be seen on Arrow as Ted Gaynor in the episode “Trust But Verify”, airing in early 2013.

YESSSSS. I don't watch Arrow, but I will watch anything for Ben Browder.
