Madonna attacks again: "I have the best fans. So take that, Lady Gaga!!!"

During her latest concert in St. Paul, Madonna decided to restart her ongoing attack on all things Lady Gaga. It seems Madonna was offended because Lady Gaga rejected her invitation to perform together.

"I have the best fans in the whole world. So take THAT, Lady Gaga! You know, I invited her on stage to sing with me. But, she turned me down. It's okay. I've been rejected before, it builds a little character."

UCLA-American Indian Studies Open Letter To No Doubt

An Open Letter to No Doubt, Supersonic Public Relations and Interscope Records in Response to No Doubt's Video, “Looking Hot”:

The American Indian Studies Center is a research institute founded in 1969 at the University of California, Los Angeles, dedicated to addressing American Indian issues and supporting Indian nations. The Center also serves as a bridge between the academy and indigenous peoples locally, nationally, and internationally, with a goal of advancing understandings between Native and non-Native communities. One particular challenge faced by American Indians in the United States is a perceived invisibility and a corresponding lack of understanding of the contemporary existence and relevance of Native peoples. We work to dismantle such barriers at the American Indian Studies Center, which remain due to a lack of knowledge about Native communities, including, for example, the fact that Los Angeles is home to the nation’s largest urban Native American population.

LiLo will be charged with lying to p[olice officers in June that involved brakes and an 18 wheeler.

Lindsay Lohan will be charged with the crime of lying to police after her car accident in June on Pacific Coast Highway ... TMZ has learned.

We broke the story ... Lohan told cops she was NOT behind the wheel of her Porsche when it slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler.  Fact is she was -- according to multiple witnesses.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... the case will be filed as a misdemeanor by the Santa Monica City Attorney ... possibly this week.

The charge could spell huge trouble for Lindsay, because she's currently on probation for the jewelry heist.  The criminal filing could trigger a probation violation, and Judge Stephanie Sautner -- the jewelry judge -- could send her to the slammer for a long, long time.

And law enforcement sources tell us ... cops found prescription pills in her purse after the crash.  Witnesses tell us pills were also scattered in her trunk.  Our sources say authorities were prepared to charge LiLo with drug crimes, but Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Holley, gave cops documentations from Lindsay's doctor, saying the pills were properly prescribed.  Authorities then backed off that charge.

As for the charge of lying to cops, Lindsay almost dodged that bullet.  You may recall, after the accident, Lindsay went to the hospital where she was interviewed by cops, and that's when she told them she wasn't behind the wheel.  Her lawyer, Shawn Holley, made a mad dash for the hospital to muzzle her client (see video), but she was a few minutes too late.

Comedy and crime -- it's all about timing.

Megan Fox gets her comedic kicks in on 'This Is 40'

Best known for her sexy turn in the 'Transformers' movies, Megan Fox gets the chance to show off her funny side in Judd Apatow's 'This Is 40.'

By Rebecca Keegan, Los Angeles Times

November 3, 201212:12 p.m.

Megan Fox knows what moviegoers expect of her — and it usually isn't the punch line.

But in Judd Apatow's "This Is 40," which opens Dec. 21, the 26-year-old actress most widely known for leaning suggestively over the hood of a Camaro in the first two"Transformers" movies gets an opportunity to show her funny side.

"It's weird to me that people haven't picked up on it yet that I have a sense of humor," Fox said, during a break from shooting on the Pacific Palisades set of the comedy last August. "When you read my interviews from start to finish, it's pretty obvious that there's a lot of sarcasm. The things that get chosen in sound bites, that run and seem literal and sound like they're very shocking, they were usually jokes, but people for whatever reason can't accept the idea that I could possibly have been joking."

Perhaps this time, when she's surrounded by Apatow's stable of comic actors, audiences will understand that Fox, too, is in on the joke.

"This Is 40" centers on the midlife woes of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann), the married couple who were on the periphery of Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl's pregnancy plot in Apatow's 2007 comedy, "Knocked Up." In the new movie, Pete and Debbie are grappling with getting older — and poorer. Debbie's boutique, once a vanity business, is suddenly needed to help cover household expenses, and she counts on the comely Desi (Fox) to lure male shoppers.

It was Mann — Apatow's real-life wife — who originally suggested he cast Fox in something after seeing the young actress host "Saturday Night Live" in 2009. Mann felt Fox wasn't getting her comedic due in Hollywood, and an encounter with a power player while dropping her daughter off at school sealed that impression.

"I was so surprised by how funny she was," Mann said. "She has an interesting attitude that's fun to watch. She's not actually trying to be funny. She just is. And then I had this little argument with a dad at school. He was an agent or something and he was talking about Megan saying, 'Those girls are a dime a dozen.' I got so mad! ... I said, 'You're a dime a dozen!' People don't give her enough credit, just because she's beautiful."

Apatow auditioned Fox opposite Mann, Rudd and Charlyne Yi, who plays Jodi, a fellow employee in Debbie's shop (and another returning character from "Knocked Up"), and Fox got her first taste of the director's signature improvisational style.

"Whatever comes to Judd, he yells it out and you do it," Fox said. "And it's funny or it's not funny. You just keep going. But I know I'm not gonna come up with anything better than the jokes he throws at me."

It's a markedly different style from her "Transformers" director, Michael Bay, with whom Fox had a public falling out.

"Bay will yell out things for you to do with your hair or body or whatever," Fox said. "He yells out instructions while you're in the middle of the scene. Those are supposed to be more serious moments. It's sort of difficult to be in the middle of a scene when someone yells, like, "Say, 'No Bumblebee, we have to get Optimus to the Dagger's Tip now!'" and you're like, 'Ah ... let me think about it first, it's not gonna come out of my mouth the right way.'"

Paul McCartney endorses Barack Obama

Paul McCartney may not be taking part in the presidential voting process, but he's taking a stance and urging his fans to "vote Obama."

McCartney, 70, appeared in a YouTube video on November 5, urging his fans to take part in the November 6 presidential election.

The singer and personality appeared alongside his band mates in a short, 40 second video that encourages Americans to exercise their democratic right to vote.

"This is a message to our North American fans mainly," McCartney said in the 43 second video. "As you know, tomorrow, November the sixth, is voting day, and we would like to urge you to get out there and vote - it's very important."

"Three of the guys are American, in the band, and they voted already," McCartney continued. "Do you know who they voted for? Obama. And this is who we think you should vote for. Tell all your friends, get all your mates, let's get him back into office. Vote Obama."

The law states that only U.S. citizens can vote in federal U.S. elections. McCartney, who is a British citizen, also Tweeted the link to the video to his over 1 million followers.

"Paul McCartney sends his support to @BarackObama @TheDemocrats #Election2012," he Tweeted on November 5.

World War Z Preview

After a brutal summer where press around "World War Z" could not get worse as news of reshoots, rewrites, an ending that doesn't work, on set conflicts, and more spilled out, Paramount have dusted themselves off and are getting ready to (re)launch "World War Z." Can Brad Pitt save the day and this movie?

Ahead of the trailer on Thursday (mark your calendars), "Entertainment Tonight" (via Ace Showbiz) had dropped a bit of preview with enough new footage to make it worth a spin. Based on the book by Max Brooks that presents an oral history by a UN bureaucrat named Gerry Lane, who in the aftermath of the zombie war is asked to compile a complete report on the incident, it's been made pretty clear that the movie deviates heavily from the source material. It seems this picture will adopt the contemporary fast moving zombie, and holy shit, it looks like there's a ton of them. If Paramount's looking to sell spectacle, it looks like they will do the job, but whether or not Marc Forster's film (and perhaps reputation) has been salvaged remains to be seen.

Basically they decided to take the book and make it into a strange 'I Am Legend' hybrid with zombie tidal waves (seriously, what is that?!). Looks like a fail.

Kirstie Alley: Patrick Swayze and I were 'in love'

Put another notch in Kirstie Alley's bedpost.

Not technically, she says, but emotionally.

The Dancing With the Stars all-star, who is promoting her new book, The Art of Men (out today), already spilled that John Travolta was "the love" of her life.

Now she says she also fell in love with Patrick Swayze, who had one of the most revered marriages in Hollywood.

Alley, who was still with second husband Parker Stevenson, and Swayze, who was with longtime love Lisa Niemi, began an intense relationship while filming 1985's North and South, Alley revealed on Monday's Entertainment Tonight.

"Both of us were married. We did not have an affair. But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you're married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It's doubly bad," said Alley.

We're guessing we haven't heard the last of Alley's romantic revelations. Her interview with Barbara Walters is set to air on Good Morning America on Wednesday.

First look: Tom Hanks as Walt Disney in ‘Saving Mr. Banks’.

The cast and crew of Saving Mr. Banks are shooting in Disneyland today, and naturally those in the park were able to sneak a peek for the first time of Tom Hanks as Walt Disney.

Numerous rides were closed within the Anaheim, California park today in order to accommodate filming. Affected areas included Main Street, Main Street Vehicles, Carnation Cafe, Plaza Inn, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Fantasyland, and curiously Astro Orbitor. We suspect that last ride, which wasn’t open when Walt was alive, is only closed to clear the surrounding area.

Bad Girl: M.I.A. Won't Play By the Rules

By Jonathan Durbin / Photographed by Jessica Craig Martin

M.I.A. is doing it wrong. For years critics and marketing execs have been telling her that if she were to choose a single medium -- art, music, politics, whatever -- she'd be more successful. But that's success on their terms, not hers. And above all else, M.I.A. has made a name for herself over the past seven years by not caring about their terms. This is a woman who is deep-down, ground-in, almost genetically punk rock. She's perhaps the most fiercely political performer active today, and that creates friction when the mainstream comes courting. The mainstream wants the music, not the message; the pretty wallpaper, not the hard questions; the style, not the substance. And even if M.I.A.'s substance is, at times, thoroughly inscrutable, there's no questioning she presents herself the way she wants to, not the way she's been told she needs to. She's not safe. You don't know what she'll do next. Unlike many of her celebrity contemporaries, she refuses to fade into the background, and she's been rewarded for her temerity. M.I.A. is the only artist ever to be nominated for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, Brit Award, Mercury Prize and the Alternative Turner Prize. More importantly, she's raised awareness of the strife caused by the civil war in Sri Lanka -- the conflict that displaced her family and precipitated her move to the U.K. as a child refugee.

The 37-year-old provocateur (aka Mathangi Maya "M.I.A." Arulpragasam) has released three full-length albums and a handful of mixes. (A recent mixtape, Vicki Leekx, is available for free on the Internet. At one point during the half-hour mash, she quips, "I'm not saying it should be freer, I'm saying music should be free," which, one imagines, was met with tight-lipped exhaustion by the suits at her label, Interscope.) She's also a visual artist, famously having gotten her start by designing album covers for Justine Frischmann of Elastica, and selling some of her early work to Jude Law. It's that part of her career--although, speaking with her, you get the sense that she'd never call what she does a "career"--that she's concentrating on now. "People have heard the journey through music," she tells me one recent evening over coffee at a hotel in TriBeCa. "Now it's like exploring the journey to this point through visuals."

More info on "Girl Meets World"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The "Boy Meets World" sequel series "Girl Meets World" is moving forward -- in fact, Disney is casting the pilot episode as we speak. The pilot will be executive produced and written by Michael Jacobs, who served as executive producer of the original series, and it's set to start shooting in February. There hasn't been any official confirmation as to whether Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have signed on, but given her playful tweets and the fact that it's moving forward, we can say the chances are very, very good.

In a flash-forward sequence in the original series, the show hinted that Cory and Topanga would have a daughter named "Beverly Glen" -- but in "Girl Meets World," we'll instead be introduced to 13-year-old Riley Matthews.

Here's how she's described in the official casting breakdown: "13 years old, indelible personality, an adorable girl on the cusp of whatever comes next in life, and wanting to rush into it head first. She is fiercely loyal to her friends, and spends most of her time juggling the obstacles that life throws her way... there is no obstacle in this girl's world that can dampen her bright spirit and eternal optimism."

In the series, Cory and Topanga also have a 14-year-old son, Elliot, who is a bit of a know-it-all when it comes to bossing his kid sister around.

Oh -- and did we mention that Cory is a seventh grade history teacher? Specifically, Riley's seventh grade history teacher.

Riley has a thick-as-thieves BFF of her own. We can't wait to meet Maya, Riley's best friend -- who is different from Riley in every way. She's a pessimist, and described as "darker and less trusting" than Riley. She's never known her father, and even though she's not a good student by any means, she looks to her history teacher, Cory, as a father figure. She's described as having "acerbic wit" and being "absolutely magnetic in attracting or intimidating the people in her sphere as she cares to. Dark and edgy, but just as fiercely loyal to Riley as Riley is to her."

Oh God, I need this show in my life.
