Supernatural actors read (and mime) 50 Shades of Grey

So normally I wouldn't post a convention video but I thought this was sort of amusing and we've had a few different posts with different celebs reading 50 Shades of Grey. During this weekend's Supernatural convention Matt Cohen and Richard Speight Jr. read and acted out (well as best they could on a stage at a con) selections from this published Twilight bad fic.

Comedienne Reveals She Has Cancer During Set

Tig Notaro's courageous, revelatory set last night at the Largo:

“Tragedy + time = comedy. But I don’t have the benefit of time. So I’m just going to tell you the tragedy and know that everything is going to be okay.”

So began Tig Notaro’s set last night at her show “Tig and friends” at the Largo.

Actually, that wasn’t the beginning of her set. It began when Ed Helms welcomed her to the stage and she crossed over, took the microphone, and said “Thank you, thank you, I have cancer, thank you, I have cancer, really, thank you.”

Applause gave way to reticent laughter as she explained how she had planned a set about bees flying alongside her car on the 405, but that she couldn’t possibly do her “silly jokes” when all this was going on. And that’s when she told us that 3 days ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, in both breasts.

But she didn’t just have cancer. She went on to explain that in some manic twist of fate, while her career is at an all-time high — she is moving to New York to work on Amy Schumer’s new television show, she was on This American Life — concurrently, all these terrible circumstances have befallen her over the past 3 months: pneumonia made way for a debilitating bacterial infection in her digestive tract for which she was hospitalized and lost 30 pounds off of her already small frame, days after being released from the hospital, her young mother died suddenly and tragically (fell, hit her head, died), then she and her girlfriend broke up, and then, now, cancer. In both breasts. (“You have a lump.” “No, doctor, that’s my breast.” — one of her most renowned bits is about someone remarking upon her small breasts)

Gabby Douglas Poses with Team USA's All-Around Gymnastics Champions

Photobucket

After scoring the top spot on the medals stand in Thursday's all-around gymnastics competition, Gabrielle "Gabby" Douglas was in good company with the three other American women who achieved the same feat.

Douglas, 16, officially joined the ranks of Nastia Liukin, Carly Patterson and Mary Lou Retton – and posed with her fellow all-around champions following her 62.232-point finish.

"Four generations of champs!" Tweeted Retton, 44, who won gold in the 1984 all-around. (Patterson, 24, won the all-around in 2004, and Liukin, 22, won it in 2008.)

"So proud of you @gabrielledoug," Liukin Tweeted.

Added Patterson: "You are glowing!"

Her fellow Fab Five Team USA gymnasts – McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross and Aly Raisman – were also extending their praise to Douglas, who is the first African-American woman to win gold in the women's all-around. Her victory, after all, came on the heels of their team gold-medal win on Tuesday.

"You are the Olympic all around champion," Wieber wrote to Douglas on Twitter, "and you deserve it girl!"

Prayer circle for Ellen Page y'all

Ellen Page: Psychotic Man Is Threatening to KILL ME

Ellen Page claims a crazed fan has been terrorizing her on Twitter -- sending her multiple DEATH THREATS -- and now, she's turned to the LAPD for help.

The LAPD recently sent a search warrant -- obtained by TMZ -- to the micro-blogging site, demanding information regarding two Twitter accounts believed to be associated with an individual bent on killing the actress.

According to the warrant, the two accounts sent Ellen multiple threatening messages back in June -- such as, "I'm going to murder Ellen Page. She's dead."

And, "Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander [Skarsgard] I will K-1-L-L you in public in the next year ... Be it in a club, at a game, in a restaurant, or when you're signing autographs."

The tweets have since been removed.

According to the LAPD, the threats also coincided with a creepy telephone call received by the non-profit that organizes the LA Film Festival, where Ellen's new movie "To Rome with Love" premiered on June 14th. The LAPD claims the caller promised to go to the festival and "kill Page."

Obviously that didn't happen -- but the investigation's still ongoing.

Queen Michelle talks about wanting to be a florist, working with Ryan Gosling & her funny 'problem'

Michelle Williams is thinking about flower arranging during her break from movies.

The Oscar-nominated actress has decided to take some time away from her hectic career. Michelle has been busy working on a host of movies including Take This Waltz, My Week with Marilyn and Oz: The Great and Powerful. She is looking forward to spending some quality time with her daughter Matilda and learning new skills.

"Taking time off," she told Empire magazine when asked about her upcoming plans. "I don't know what I'll do. Live life. Take a flower-arranging class. I might figure out Netflix."

Michelle is currently promoting Take This Waltz, which also stars Seth Rogen. Although the movie focuses on a marriage in crisis, Michelle had great fun while filming certain sequences.

"There's a funny scene with aerobics. It was like a dance party for grown-ups at 3pm. It was a delight to read that scene and relate to it. Whenever I've done exercise in a group class I've enjoyed it so much it makes me giddy with laughter," she explained. "Sarah [Polley, director] said to me, 'You have a talent for laughing the way people do for crying.' It's not like I have a surplus of laughter that wants to get out, but things get me easily."

Michelle often struggles to keep a straight face. While making Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling, the pair delayed shooting with their laughing fits.

"Yes. It's a real problem for me," she added. "Once on Blue Valentine, Ryan and I couldn't stop laughing for three hours. In the end we gave up. We couldn't function."

Kiwi Coach is a Pressed Hater; Jealous His Team Isn't As Great As The USWNT

U.S. team’s goal celebration choreography annoys New Zealand coach

Since completing a comeback win against France in its first Olympic group-stage match, the U.S. women's team has had a relatively easy run to its upcoming semifinal match against Canada. The team hasn't allowed a single goal since that match against France, beating its three subsequent opponents by a combined score of 6-0 and creating a comfortable atmosphere that has led the team to deploy a series of pre-arranged goal celebrations that are starting to annoy opponents.

Against Colombia, goalscorer Megan Rapinoe pulled a piece of paper with a birthday message for absent teammate Ali Krieger out of her boot and held it up in front of the cameras. Against North Korea, the entire starting XI (except for goalkeeper Hope Solo and captain Christie Rampone) joined hands and did the worm. And against New Zealand in the quarterfinals, the team did cartwheels as a tribute to the gold-medal winning U.S. gymnastics squad after Abby Wambach's fourth goal of the tournament.

It was that last one that New Zealand's English manager, Tony Readings, voiced displeasure with when speaking to the media after the match.

"I wouldn't like it if our team did that," New Zealand Coach Tony Readings said. "When teams concede [goals] they're disappointed and they want to get on with the game. But it's obviously something the Americans do. -sorry we're not sorry for being very passionate about our sports/teams and country. We are proud of our athletes and want to show them our support.

Passion Pit singer talks bipolar disorder

In July, news that Passion Pit had canceled six of its tour dates riled the several thousand fans who had eagerly secured tickets to see the band -- not least of all frontman Michael Angelakos himself. In a curious message posted on the band's website, Angelakos wrote that "in order for me to ensure that there will be no further disruptions, I am going to take the time to work on improving my mental health."

Now the 25-year-old is clarifying what he meant by the statement. In a lengthy interview with Rolling Stone before the band's performance at Lollapalooza on Friday, Angelakos spoke candidly about his health and said that he was relieved to come clean about suffering from bipolar disorder, which he was diagnosed with at age 18.

"People don't understand that it's not just debilitating; it's all-encompassing. It's something that you have to work on your entire life," Angelakos said.

"My depression was so bad three weeks ago when we had to cancel everything -- people don't understand this. It was so bad I was suffering from something called Psychomotor Retardation, which is essentially where your brain starts shutting down your entire body. So you're sitting in bed and you can barely move."

Passion Pit's new album, "Gossamer," dropped on July 24 and debuted at number four on Billboard Top Ten. For more on Angelakos, click through to Rolling Stone. source

Twilight's Biggest Fan Nuttymadam breaks her silence

Why did you start doing YouTube videos?

I started about four years ago. I’d never got into a book as much as I did with Twilight, so I went online and found a huge community of fans. It was amazing so many people cared and I wanted to be part of it. I found out they were making a film so I put together some photographs of the characters with music. The first video was the most basic, cheesy thing. I didn’t even realise I had video editing software on my computer.

Prince William: I Was 'Absolutely Dreading' Olympic Kiss Cam With Kate

Prince William and Kate have been photographed excitedly cheering on Britain's athletes at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London (the royal couple even did the wave while watching tennis), but there is one crowd shot the Prince did not want to partake in - the kiss cam!

"I was absolutely dreading they were going to come and show myself and my wife and that would have been very embarrassing," the PDA-shy Prince told The BBC of the kiss cam at the Olympic Velodrome on Thursday night, where he and Kate were on hand to cheer on the cyclists.

In spite of the daunting kiss cam's presence, William said he thoroughly enjoyed the crowd's inspiring enthusiasm at the race, as they watched Scottish cyclist Sir Chris Hoy set a new world record in the men's team sprint and earn a gold medal.

"That was absolutely fantastic, the world records being beaten, and the atmosphere in there was electric," he said.

Prince Harry added that he and William are "very proud" of their cousin, Zara Philips, who nabbed a silver medal in the equestrian events.

"We as cousins are very, very proud," Harry told the network. "It now explains why we never get to see her because she is always riding!"

Elvis’s outraged granddaughter confronted Alex and he couldn’t talk his way out of it. The engagement was called off and the two went their separate ways. frank ocean: bites lips

Frank Ocean opens up, expresses gratitude for support at Lollapalooza

"Some of the things I've said in the past month have taken some fear away from myself. I'm grateful for [your] love."

When Frank Ocean opened his tour in Seattle earlier this month, 10 days after revealing a past sexual relationship with a man, he was noticeably reserved, opting to let his music speak for him. At New York's Terminal 5 two weeks ago, the R&B singer briefly mentioned his admission, telling the crowd, “It was my life, you know? And I felt the need to say that, so I did.” Onstage tonight atLollapalooza 2012, Ocean went even further, acknowledging the effect that the admission had on himself and thanking his supporters.

"This next one is pretty important to me," the singer said before performing "Bad Religion," which contains the line, "I can never make him love me." "Some of the things I've said in the past month have taken some fear away from myself."

Cue thunderous applause.

"I'm grateful for that love."

It was the most revealing—yet hardly the only—remark Ocean said tonight, as the singer seems to be getting more comfortable with shows, and crowds, as his tour continues. After opening with a cover of Sade's "By Your Side," Ocean split his 13-song set between his recently released debut album Channel Orange and 2011 mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra. Throughout the 60-minute set, Ocean showcased his astounding vocal range, deftly flitting between syrupy falsetto and traditional croon.

The singer appeared at ease with the supportive crowd, remarking that Chicago has "some of the flyest architecture" and asking fans, "Anybody do mushrooms today?" After "Swim Good," Ocean's breakout track from Ultra, transformed into a crowd-wide singalong, the singer offered to "start the Lollapalooza mass choir tonight." (Check out more photos of Ocean in our Lollapalooza photo gallery.)

Comments about the past month notwithstanding, they were quick, throwaway lines; unremarkable for most performers. But Ocean's reticence to speak both onstage and in the press has made an already gifted singer mythic, imbuing him with a mysterious aura that makes each tossed-off remark or observation a heightened insight into his character.

By the time Ocean finished his set with the 10-minute epic "Pyramids," all the conversations leaving Grant Park were focused on his performance: favorite tracks, which songs he didn't play, etc. Frank Ocean will reveal what he wants, when he wants. Tonight, the singer offered up a little more insight into his psyche, but ensured that when people left the festival, his music and voice remained the highlight.

Nick Olivieri Out of Jail After Four Hour Stand-off With Cops; Remains White While Doing So

Former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri just dodged a major bullet after his 4-hour standoff with a S.W.A.T. team last year -- cutting a MAJOR deal with prosecutors that will keep him out of jail.

Oliveri's lawyer Freddy Sayegh tells TMZ, "Mr. Oliveri agreed to plead to one count of possession of cocaine and a dismissal of the remaining SIX felony counts."

If you recall ... Oliveri was arrested last July in L.A. after a fight with his GF resulted in a S.W.A.T. standoff. Cops eventually searched his home, and claim they found a loaded shotgun along with cocaine and methamphetamines.

The musician had faced up to 15 YEARS in the slammer for the combined charges -- but under the deal, he'll only get 3 years felony probation. Oliveri also agreed to 52 weeks of anger management and 200 hours of community service.

A judge signed off on the deal today, claiming if Oliveri stayed clean during the length of his probation, he'd expunge the entire case from Oliveri's record. Not bad.

Ten Urban Legends That Deserve a Proper Movie Adaptation

urban
We’ve all heard them at one point in our lives. The hook on the car door. The killer in the backseat. Alligators in the sewers. We’ve all had our share of urban legends being passed down to us by our grandparents, parents, friends, and neighbors. They frighten us, but also raise a certain intrigue as to how they came to be. These tales of folklore have multiple variations in how they are told and who and what are involved in them so there is never a definitive version of a story. As a result, these tales are great fodder for movie adaptations especially in the horror genre since most of these stories have a rather gruesome origin. In actuality, various urban legends have already been adapted into films such as Alligator (alligators in the sewers), The Pine Barrens (A film about the Jersey Devil that is currently in development by Darren Lynn Bousman), and of course the Urban Legend films. However, there are numerous other urban legends from around the country that just beckon to be exploited by the horror genre. Here are ten urban legends that have the potential to make for some pretty interesting and potentially scary movies if done well:

Michelle Williams: 'Being embarrassed in public is the worst thing I can imagine'

The US film star on the dangers of high heels, the charms of Ryan Gosling, and nudity in her new movie, Take This Waltz

Michelle Williams: 'Put a spycam on any relationship and a lot of embarrassing stuff will come out.' Photograph: Robert Gauthier/Contour by Getty Images

People might see that your new film, Take This Waltz, also stars Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman and think it's a comedy. They'd be really wrong. It's actually quite upsetting…

I gave the script to a friend of mine and I said, "I'm going to make a comedy! I'm so excited." She sat down to read it and an hour later I walk in and she was crying on the couch and said, "Michelle, when am I going to get to the funny part?"

We should explain: your character Margot is married to Lou (Rogen), who's this tremendously sweet and decent guy, but they slowly drift apart. He writes cookbooks that only contain recipes for chicken – that's a metaphor for the relationship, right?

Comforting and bland, yes. Always tastes the same, no matter how you cook it.

Lou and Margot engage in a fair amount of baby talk with each other. Where do you stand on that personally?

I've never done it, I don't think. Maybe when you have a kid… You know what it is? It's the pattern you get into in a relationship, whether it's bad jokes or innuendoes, it's just this habit, this thing you only do with this one other person. If anybody heard it, it would be humiliating. But, in any relationship, if you put a spycam on it for two hours there's a lot of embarrassing stuff that's going to come out.

Macaulay Culkin Comes Out Of Hiding To Attend Natalie Portman Wedding

Macaulay Culkin left his reclusive life in New York to attend Natalie Portman's California wedding Saturday night.

They've been "friends for years," a source told Us Weekly.

As RadarOnline.com reported, Portman and Benjamin Millepied married near Big Sur with just family and close friends in attendance.

Culkin's presence at the intimate ceremony comes on the heels of a National Enquirer story alleging that the former actor is a heroin addict.

His rep responded to the blockbuster story, calling it "not only categorically without merit, but it is also impossibly and ridiculously fictitious."

Culkin's super-thin appearance has had fans concerned about the Home Alone star for months though.

Macaulay had an eight-year long romance with Portman's Black Swan costar Mila Kunis that ended in late 2010. He has only rarely been seen in public since their break-up.

Skittles' Bestiality Ad Riles Up Critics, Grosses People Out

Skittles' new ad isn't shying away from controversy. Their latest is all about bestiality -- with a walrus -- and some people are up in arms over it.

John Nolte of Breitbart.com musters his best attack on what he calls a Hollywood agenda orchestrated by those who aim to "remove the stigma from bestiality": "You can laugh and say it's just a joke, but through a war of inches, Hollywood continues its assault to define deviancy down and to normalize destructive behavior. Humor is an excellent way to get us used to and to take the shock value out of something hideous and immoral."

Not sure we're buying it. As BoingBoing eloquently puts it, we "have to wonder ... at someone who watches this and thinks to himself, "This will make people want to f*ck walruses."

It doesn't make us want to eat Skittles, either.

Tom Arnold makes surprise appearance at Comedy Central roast of Roseanne

rotom

Roseanne Barr appeared genuinely surprised when ex-husband Tom Arnold took the stage near the end of her Comedy Central Roast taping.

"We have not been in the same room for over 17 years," Arnold told the audience after taking the stage. Largely departing from the typical roast format, most of Arnold's comments toward Roseanne were positive and the pair even hugged after he stepped down from the dais. And while the audience did give Arnold one of the show's few standing ovations of the evening, even he wondered about the wisdom of making the surprise appearance, which Comedy Central officials said was unplanned until just before taping began.

"Is this really the best format to do this? Getting together with your ex at a roast," Arnold wondered out loud.

But it was clear Roseanne was touched by the appearance.

"I'd really like to thank Tom for showing up. It was very brave and he was very funny," Roseanne said when she took the stage to close out the roast. "But Jesus Christ how many jobs do I have to get that guy?"

The pair had a famously fractious four-year marriage from 1990 to 1994. And for years after their divorce, both Arnold and Barr continued to take shots at each other through the press.

However, Arnold seemingly put any former hard feelings aside and closed out his set with a sentimental tribute to Roseanne, recalling her breakthrough 1985 "Tonight Show" appearance with Johnny Carson that first thrust her into the national spotlight.

"Roseanne you were my Johnny Carson," Arnold said. "Thank you for your thumbs up and for letting me sit on your couch for a little bit."

Although most of the roast was focused on Roseanne's entertainment career, the comedian actress has also been pursuing a longshot presidential bid. On Saturday, she was formally nominated by the Peace and Freedom Party in Los Angeles.

Closing out the roast, Roseanne joked, "If I can bury my roiling, boiling ceaseless hatred for Tom Arnold maybe there is a chance for world peace."

Brigitte Nielsen drunk and disoriented in public park

Sylvester Stallone's former wife Brigitte Nielsen put on a tragic public display in a Los Angeles park Saturday.

The Danish actress and model drank directly from a bottle of cheap Popov vodka and also from an unlabeled mini bottle. She smoked cigarette after cigarette, and later stumbled to the grass where she appeared to pass out.

Wearing skin tight jeans and matching purple T-shirt and baseball cap, Nielsen finally left the park by walking through some thick bushes instead of using a pathway.

The scene was shocking for those who witnessed the 6' tall Nielsen, who looked at least a decade more than her 49 years.

Nielsen had a very public battle with the bottle after her 1987 divorce from Stallone -- they were married just two years -- and she most recently was in rehab in 2007.

Married five times, Nielsen has been a popular celebrity on the European reality show circuit for the last decade. She was a contestant on the German version of Dancing with the Stars in 2010 and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2012.

She was absent from last month's funeral of her former stepson Sage Stallone.
