"I’m going to do Thor after I play Mandela [in Long Walk To Freedom]," Elba told Collider. Aside from snatching quote-of-the-week status - possibly forever - with that gem of CV-based awesomeness, Elba elaborated on where he'd like to see his character go in the sequel.
"I’d just like to get to know him a bit more," said the Londoner. "Who is Heimdall? He guards the gate. Is there anything else? I don’t know what's in the script because I haven’t read it yet, but the audience has responded to Asgard and wants to know more about who lives there and what it’s about. I’m sure, if they do that, Heimdall will be featured more."
The other films on Elba's packed slate this year are Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim and kidnap thriller No Good Deed. According to Marvel boss Kevin Feige, Thor 2 starts shooting in London in August, so expect him to be wrapped on Long Walk To Freedom by late summer.

The Wanted Sessions: Talking Freaky Fans, One Direction and Ridiculous Rumors With the Breakout Brits
Having a conversation with The Wanted isn’t easy. That’s not to say the guys aren’t friendly … just the opposite in fact. But the group has this unharnessed energy that keeps the exchange going a mile a minute, with Jay finishing Siva’s sentences and Max cracking raunchy jokes. If you can keep up with the five guys, who found fame stateside with their hits like “Glad You Came” and “Chasing the Sun,” the conversation is actually quite refreshing. In a world of manufactured and media trained pop acts, the guys (for lack of a better term) keep it real.

Looks like "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" will have a new cast member: Kanye West. But don't expect Khloé and Lamar-style action.
Kim K. confirmed to E! Online that her new beau, rapper Kanye West, will appear on several episodes of the reality series, saying: "I want to show my life,” adding, "If we are having dinner and he does show up, I'm sure we're not going to go, 'Stop the cameras!'"
But she added, "I'm not going to be taking a bubble bath and drinking champagne or on a sex swing [on camera] like Khloé and Lamar do," Kardashian told E! News, adding, "It's not going to be like that."
West attended a baby shower for Kardashian sister Kourtney last weekend, and the event was filmed for the E! series.
This should be absolutely flawless television.
It's safe to say that Mariah Carey and Bristol Palin reacted very differently to Barack Obama announcing his support of gay marriage this week.
But while the daughter of a failed Vice Presidential candidate went public with wayward insults of Obama as a father, Glee and Dora the Explorer, Mariah simply went out and partied!
Witnesses say Carey showed up at The Abbey Food and Bar in West Hollywood on Wednesday night, dancing the evening away at the gay nightclub with pal B. Scott.
"She was very nice and gracious," an onlooker at the establishment tells People, adding that the deejay recognized her after awhile and started to play some Mariah classics.
At this, the ladies simply went "crazy" on the dance floor.
Sort of like how Bristol went at Obama's announcement, only not at all.
Looks like Mariah is back to claim her gays and her throne, bye Gaga.

Sony reportedly paid $1 million for the rights to the biography, picking it up in October. The book was Amazon’s best-selling title of 2011 and, according to Publisher’s Weekly, 2.2 million copies were sold last year.
Said Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman Amy Pascal in a statement: “Steve Jobs’ story is unique: he was one of the most revolutionary and influential men not just of our time but of all time. There is no writer working in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life for the screen than Aaron Sorkin; in his hands, we’re confident that the film will be everything that Jobs himself was: captivating, entertaining and polarizing."
Sorkin was the studio’s choice almost from the very beginning, with Sony approaching the writer as early as November. At the time, he said was “strongly considering” taking on the assignment.

The TV ratings results are mixed for Howard Stern and America's Got Talent.
Monday's season premiere, featuring Stern's inaugural turn at the judge's table, held its own on a jam-packed night of finales, but ended up as the franchise's least-watched opener ever.
The two-hour America's Got Talent averaged 10.3 million viewers, per early estimates, down a whopping 5 million from its 2011 premiere.

At Fox’s upfront presentation in New York Monday, Glee stars Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith joined lots of other network stars on the Beacon Theatre stage to help promote the new season. But they weren’t there to sing. They weren’t even there to talk about the big finale and what’s next for their characters. They let Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly answer the burning questions, instead. Rather than pursue a plan announced earlier this season to spin off graduates Rachel, Kurt and Finn, Glee will now feature a “show within a show.” By having some of the characters move to New York — where guest stars like Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson are expected to interact with the Ohio transplants – Fox and Creator Ryan Murphy could simultaneously reinvigorate the dramedy by bringing in new students to McKinley High.

Great fun was had. Cocks were seen. And then the two got into a fight and General Aladeen dumped Elisabetta's body off the side of a yacht in a trash bag. Which must have been a shock to her. I'm not even sure she knew this was a publicity stunt. Hell, she went from relaxing at George Clooney's villa to sleeping on Steve-O's couch. Going from Steve-O to a rich, murderous dictator is hardly a stretch. Especially when your rent is due."

Happy Endings lived up to its name last week when ABC picked up the perennial bubble show for a full third season! That means we'll be getting, for the first time, 22 episodes of hibernating gays, invisible hula hooping, slutty baby tees and anything else this decadently daffy show can dream up.
But, in perhaps the best news of all, fans won't have to wait until September for a new installment of TV's best comedy -- turns out there is a season two episode that has yet to air!
"There's a lost episode, coming at ya this summer," Casey Wilson told TheInsider.com at last night's ABC Upfront Party in NYC. "It's a kickball episode and Football star Lance Briggs plays my boyfriend. It may not be the first thing that comes to your mind, but it was magic." Less wondrous for the team is one glaring omission: "We leave Jane off our team," Casey adds. "Needless to say, Jane does not love it."
"Yea, I get left out ... but I take my shirt off, so it works out," Eliza Coupe countered. Although it sounds like the episode (airdate TBD) will actually give Max-fans the most to celebrate.
"It's Bad News Bears and I play the Walter Matthau role," Adam Pally told me. "It's basically my dream: I get to drink and smoke while coaching this kickball team. Plus, I showed up to work with no makeup and my own wardrobe, so I actually looked like Walter Matthau."
As for next season, the cast is looking forward to continuing to ramp up the crazy as Damon Wayans Jr. and Eliza would like to tackle a Mission: Impossible themed episode ("Is that so you can descend into my vagina?" Eliza asked when Damon suggested the visual) while Adam is looking forward to really unleashing Max's full pooh-tential.
"I'd love to see Max becoming even more unhinged next season," he says. "It's cute and adorable when there's a 30 year old with no job for a couple of years, but now that he's getting older, I think it would be great to see him really turn into a recluse."
I'm just happy we'll get the chance!

Criminal Minds executive producer Erica Messer knew very early this season that she wanted to do something out of the ordinary for the season finale.
"I wanted to ground it with our team and I wanted to end with the idea that good things happen to good people," Messer tells TVGuide.com. "Our team puts up with all this crap from horrible people all year long, so let's actually celebrate them. We see so many bad images all season long, can't we just have our heroes be happy and smiling and dancing? We knew early on there would be a wedding at the end, not an SUV explosion [like in the Season 3 finale]."

1. Her career has waned, but this girl isn’t willing to sit back and see other young performers take any headlines away from her. Lots of antics in the past couple of months, each one that should be accompanied by the caption “Hey! Look at ME!”
Significant Other starring in a movie? Upstage him on the red carpet! People talking about how good looking he is? Wear (or don’t wear) something that creates a photo frenzy! He scored another big acting job? Create a rumor that you are in contention for a big TV job! His brother is having a baby? Adopt another pet! Your movie flops? Get another piercing or tattoo! Not cool.
Her hunger for fame and need for constant attention is exhausting everyone, especially her Significant Other. Word is that he is looking for the exit door. Blind Gossip
My Guess: Miley Cyrus
2. This rom-com queen has been trying to find a suitable A-list mate to compliment her image, but had to settle for a C-lister. She was about to break up with him, but when her ex announced his engagement to a couple of mutual pals, she decided to fast track their relationship. Not only will they be getting married soon, but they will also be welcoming a baby. She is about 3 months pregnant and plans to let bump rumors ride until she confirms the news at what she is deeming “perfect PR timing.” Her goal is to go public with the pregnancy just in time for her ex’s wedding. Hollywood Dame
My Guess: the obvious guess here is Jennifer Aniston. and I hope she really is pregnant because I want her to be happy. she seems like a pretty cool chick.
3. Which star, currently in the news, must have such a high opinion of himself that he needs to massage his ego quite frequently? He was, for quite some time, having sex with someone who worked professionally as his own lookalike. (Some of his more casual hook-ups too are said to have more than a passing resemblance.) Pop Bitch
My Guess: Travolta totally goes after bears
4. This A list actor has franchise millions in his bank, but won’t spring for a much needed dental appointment. He makes a conscious effort never to smile and show his teeth at red carpet events. Fans think it’s all part of his dark and aloof mystique, but his teeth are beyond yellow…they are brown. Hollywood Dame
My Guess: Johnny Depp PLEASE go to the dentist. Jack Sparrow teeth only work for so long but it's starting to get gross.

It was just a few months ago when the cast began to assemble for John Carney‘s (Once) drama, Can a Song Save Your Life?, with Mark Ruffalo and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) both inking deals to star alongside Scarlett Johansson. And although we’re now hearing that the lattermost lead is departing — on account of “personal reasons” — a report from ScreenDaily promises a replacement that’s just as good, if not even better.
As they inform us, Carney (and producer Judd Apatow) have now snagged Keira Knightley, who will take over the role of a young woman who, after breaking up with her boyfriend, meets a struggling music producer (Ruffalo) that she soon forms a personal and professional relationship with. (Steinfeld will play the producer’s daughter.) Now that everything is back in order, shooting should begin relatively soon.
How you react to this switch entirely depends on how you feel about either, respective actress — but that’s kind of obvious, anyway. While I don’t necessarily mind Johansson‘s work, in general, Knightley has always felt like a more dynamic, interesting, and wide-reaching actress. (Yes, I liked her in A Dangerous Method.) That doesn’t necessarily mean Song will be a better film — I imagine it’ll be strong stuff, as is — yet there’s a little more promise at the center of things.
luv 'em both but glad to see keira branching out, especially can't wait for seeking a friend for the end of the world!!
"Gangster Squad": the new "Contagion"? Warner Bros. sure hopes so!
The studio has finally settled on a release date for the Ryan Gosling-led gangster film: Sept. 7, the same weekend that Warner Bros. successfully opened "Contagion" in 2011. The star-studded apocalypse porn from director Steven Soderbergh debuted with $22.4 million in ticket sales, on its way to $75.6 million in North American receipts. Around the world, "Contagion" earned $135.4 million.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer ("Zombieland") and starring Gosling, Josh Brolin, Sean Penn and Emma Stone, "Gangster Squad" was initially pegged as a potential Oscar contender. Its style-over-substance first trailer and post-Labor Day release date, however, say otherwise.
Meanwhile, in disappointing news: Warner Bros. also shifted the release date of "Gravity" to sometime in 2013. The film -- the follow-up to "Children of Men" for director Alfonso Cuaron -- was initially earmarked for a Nov. 21 rollout. "Gravity" stars Sandra Bullock as an astronaut lost in space trying and to get back to Earth. George Clooney also appears in a small role.
Like with "Children of Men," Cuaron's work on "Gravity" is apparently of the visionary variety. The opening scene to the film is reportedly one uninterrupted 17-minute take. Translation: release this now, please?

Before a movie opens, everyone involved is usually understandably wary about talking sequels-- even when it's something like The Avengers, which had the makings of a mega-hit well before it opened at $200 million North America alone. But The Los Angeles Times gave it a shot anyway, talking to Joss Whedon before the film opened in the United States, and asking him if he'd be back for the sequel that's already in development at Disney. Whedon, of course, wouldn't give a concrete answer, but he also had a thoughtful reply to go along with it:
“You know, I’m very torn. It’s an enormous amount of work telling what is ultimately somebody else’s story, even though I feel like I did get to put myself into it. But at the same time, I have a bunch of ideas, and they all seem really cool.”
Whedon, who's written several comic books in addition to all of his TV and movies work, would naturally have a lot of ideas for the sequel, especially after writing the script for The Avengers himself. But it's curious that he emphasizes the fact that The Avengers is still somebody else's story. Sure, he didn't come up with the idea for the team of superheroes on his own, the way he created the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe or the world of Firefly, but he really made the Avengers team his own, in a way that I think will define the Marvel Universe of movies and even comics for a long time. As a writer Whedon clearly values originality, but he'd be far from the first writer or director to achieve success telling a pre-existing story-- Orson Welles's first claim to fame was a radio telling of H.G. Wells's War of the Worlds, after all, and Cecil B. DeMille surely didn't invent The Ten Commandments.
It may be a while before we see Whedon make a decision on The Avengers 2, and the way he's talking, I wouldn't be surprised to see him depart-- he's got the capital to do absolutely anything he wants right now, and with a brain like that, he's surely got a ton of ideas that don't involve supeheroes. If you want to convince him to take the job, though, now's probably the time-- we're skeptical he reads the comments here, but just in case, give it a shot!
Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who renounced his U.S. citizenship in what many have seen as a move to avoid paying federal taxes, has managed to unify many Americans behind Uncle Sam's outstretched hand.
Normally, Uncle Sam is portrayed as the guy trying to separate you from the contents of your wallet, right?
But many in the online world this week are outraged at the perception that Saverin is trying to dodge the tax man. Americans feel personally ripped off, according to comments posted across a variety of social media platforms. Saverin made his riches off Facebook-loving U.S. taxpayers and is now defriending the country that made him rich when it comes time to add some of that money back to U.S. tax coffers.
Before we get to the reaction, a quick catch-up: Saverin is Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook co-founder, and his role in the business venture was immortalized in the Oscar-winning film, “The Social Network.” He has a reported 4% stake in the company, a stake that could be worth nearly $4 billion after Facebook's highly anticipated initial public offering, expected next week.
Before Disney started churning out only big money-making franchises like "Hannah Montana" and "High School Musical", they actually used to make good family films. Now the theme is usually along the lines of: get famous, rich or both. Before movies used to be about varied topics like: being a girl and still being badass, being a mer-man, accidentally bringing an inanimate doll to life, or taking part in extreme sports such as motocross, roller-blading or surfing. You can still get your old-school Disney fix by watching these flicks.

LOS ANGELES — “American Idol” viewers could be in for a serious case of deja vu if Phillip Phillips wins on the Fox talent contest’s 11th season finale next week.
While the soulful strummer from Leesburg, Ga., has certainly proved he can be a risk-taking showman by transforming songs like Usher’s “U Got It Bad” into searing acoustic covers, a victory for the 21-year-old would prove something that everyone has suspected for a while: “Idol” voters prefer humble Caucasian heartthrobs over, well, anyone else.
Since he first caught the judges’ — and America’s — attention with growly renditions of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson hits at his audition, Phillips has seamlessly moved up the ranks, never appearing as one of the show’s low-vote getters. That can’t be said of his two final challengers — sassy 16-year-old Jessica Sanchez and booming 20-year-old Joshua Ledet.
And folks just seem to like Phillips, who has comfortably filled this season’s reluctant heartthrob role. He’s been silly, constantly flashing funny faces at the camera. He’s been rebellious: When Tommy Hilfiger advised him not to wear grey on stage, he donned two shades of it. He’s been sexy, even melting Ryan Seacrest’s girlfriend.

Jennifer Lopez may have just been named by Forbes magazine today as the most powerful celebrity, but her reign at American Idol is coming to an end. While J.Lo has publicly said she has yet to make a decision about her future on Idol, sources exclusively tell me that she she's planning on calling it quits.
"She's just too busy," one source said. That's so very true. She's about to launch a mega concert tour with Enrique Iglesias that kicks off this summer in Latin America and the U.S. She plans to go worldwide in the fall. I'm told Lopez will be on the road, at the very least, through the end of the year.
The next round of Idol auditions will begin while she's overseas. The superstar apparently wants to free up her schedule next year, possibly taking a little hiatus from work to be with her kids. "It is just like any working mom's dilemma," Lopez told us at Monday's premiere of What to Expect When You're Expecting. "It's tough. It's a balancing act. You put them first and then you have all these other things that you have to do, that you have to give your time to as well, and you have to make sure that they're OK in the process." Fox declined to comment on Lopez's future with the show. Meanwhile, a source close to the production tells E! News that "Fox does not want to let her go. They love her."
After going full-on sci-fi with the alien-invasion hit Falling Skies, TNT is ramping up a few more sci-fi-ish projects that could make it to air this fall. Among them? Tyra Banks has created a multi-million-dollar empire with her own production company, her hit reality series "America's Next Top Model," her own syndicated daytime talk show that had a five year run, and a book franchise. But none of it would have ever happened had the 5' 10" beauty not landed her first modeling contract as a teenager more than 20 years ago.
People like movies, and people like stuff. It didn't take much to put the two together, and nowadays huge tie-in marketing campaigns are to be expected with hit movies. But that doesn't mean they all make sense.
I mean, sure, automobile brands tied in to action movies usually work, and technology brands embedded in control room shots don't stand out too much. But a Watchmen-branded toaster? (Seriously, it's real.) That's getting a little ridiculous.
But it only scratches the surface of some of the classic bone-headed film marketing tie-ins out there.

Chuck Brown dies: 'Godfather of Go-Go' passes away at 75
Chuck Brown, the legendary musician who is known as the "Godfather of Go-Go," passed away Wednesday, his daughter confirmed to ABC7's Sam Ford.
Brown's passing comes about a week after the Washington Post confirmed that the musician, considered the pioneer of Go-Go music, had been hospitalized with pneumonia.
Brown's 1970 hit, "Bustin' Loose," hit #1 on the MCA charts. The song was later sampled in the 2002 Nelly song, "Hot in Herre."
He had recently postponed numerous shows due to his failing health.
This is a developing story. More to come.

We are too! We're really excited to get back to work. This cast is a little bit obsessed with each other. [Laughs.] ... We're so looking forward to getting back to work for you guys.
My first question when I heard about the renewal was whether or not it'll be another shortened, mini-series-style season? Do you know?
I'm not sure how much of that I'm supposed to share ... when I'm doing press about the show, I feel like I have to be sort of Judy Smith/Olivia Pope about it. I'm managing the information around the show, in my own crisis way. [Laughs.] We've been picked up for the maximum number of episodes that a midseason can be picked up for, which is less than a full season, but I think there's the possibility for that to be more [than six episodes]. There are still a lot of questions around it.

Adele's history-making success has reinvigorated the music industry in the best way possible. Sales of her acclaimed 21 helped the industry to its first year-over-year sales increase since 2004 and she's continued her chart dominance throughout 2012. The reception the acclaimed album has received is proof that people are still very much interested in powerful vocalists who are also the driving creative force behind their own music.
The last time we can remember an album receiving this kind of enormous and universal reception from both critics and music lovers was Amy Winehouse's modern classic Back to Black in 2006. It seems the late singer was as aware of that fact as anyone else … and it made her quite nervous.
At least according to Mark Ronson, a long-time Winehouse confidant and the producer behind Back to Black. In a new interview with the Village Voice, Ronson reveals that Adele's success made Winehouse feel "upset, competitive [and] restless," though she was herself a fan of the "Rolling in the Deep" belter.
Asked if he was planning to work with Winehouse again before her death in late-July of last year, Ronson admitted they had been talking about it, but the beehived British soul singer was nervous and tense about returning to the studio with him and speculated that Adele's success might have had something to do with it.
"Yes. We spent a little time together and talked about it. But, what little time we had, well, it was tense. She was in a bad state, God knows why," Ronson told the Voice. "I think that the Adele thing had Amy freaked out. She liked her, but Adele's success was making Amy feel upset, competitive, restless. Anyway, we lost touch briefly. And before she and I could really start the process of beginning a new album, it was too late."
We can understand where Amy was coming from – their styles certainly had some overlap and any singer trying to get some shine on the charts would be a fool to not be made nervous by Adele's current ubiquity – but we think that there is more than enough room for both. What we wouldn't give to have had these two talented and unique voices dominating the charts at the same time and showing so many lesser talents how it's done.

A leaked audition tape gives us confirmation that Edmure Tully will (finally) be appearing in the series. The audition, dug up by The Rabbit, shows Irish actor Tom Sullivan reading the casting sides for Edmure.
We’ve had leaked audition tapes in the past (including from someone who actually went on to become cast in the show), but this one is noteworthy because it confirms the existence of a character that has heretofore gone unmentioned on the show. Edmure, the brother of Catelyn Stark, appears way back in the first book, but he was cut from both seasons one and two, leaving some fans fearing we would never see him. Well, fear no more!
Taking care of some international promotions, Nicole Scherzinger was spotted at the UK premiere of her new film “Men In Black III” in London, England today (May 16).
A campaign to bring Toonami back to Adult Swim has finally been recognized! On May 26, 2012, all our nerdage will not have been in vain. It seems that a lot of help came from Steve Blum in terms of gathering fan support, but he claims he doesn't want all the credit. It's by and large due to a lot of clamoring from a unified internet community.
SO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? I'm super excited for this. I wonder if they've licensed the old content? Will they show new anime and get younger fans plugged into a new generation of Toonami? MY FEELS!

Everyone has got it wrong about Kristen Stewart. Her vibrant smile and shocking personality lights up the room the moment she walks in.
The cool and laid back aura she brought to the table allowed for less of an interview type feel and more of a friendly conversation between three best friends (which of course we are). She truly does represent the few Hollywood stars that are just like us.
Her new movie, Snow White and the Huntsman, will be hitting theaters June 1st, and boy are we excited to see this one (expect to see us at the midnight showing). While preserving a few of the original morals (the dwarfs, the apple and the mirror), this adaptation takes the Snow White fairytale to a whole new level.
This interview was by far the best because I got to interview my BEST FRIEND!! Well, not actually, but I did get to interview Kristen with my best friend, Lily. She also happens to be a die-hard Kristen fan (her surprise party was KSTEW themed), but shh… don’t tell Kristen, she doesn’t know that we were completely overwhelmed by her awesomeness. She probably thought we hadn’t even seen the Twilight movies with the calm we kept (I’ve seen them at least 10 times each). So, here it is – sit back, relax and enjoy the interview.
P.S. Feel free to become as equally as overwhelmed as we did!

In case you haven't been following ... earlier this month, Josh said he underwent surgery for a "broken nose" -- but he wouldn't explain how it happened.
His rep later insisted the nose wasn't broken ... and the surgery was merely to correct a deviated septum.

Chris Brown may have a smile that makes a Colgate exec melt and dance like Michael Jackson’s ghost is his choreographer, but if the lyrics to the recently released freestyle to Kanye West’s “Theraflu” are indeed about Rihanna, there’s a jerk factor still lingering there that needs immediate fixing.
Last week, the R&B star tweeted the track and immediately after he did many suspected that he took thinly veiled shots at his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, whom he notoriously beat in 2009. The lyrics in question are: "Don't f--k with my old bitch, it's like a bad fur/ Every industry n---- done had her/ Shook the tree like a pumpkin just to smash her/ B*tch is breaking codes, but I'm the password."
Mind you, this is coming from the person with chastity-belt bangers like “Strip” currently blanketing radio...who also beat Rihanna brutally just three years ago. THIS PERSON feels he can make a reasoned judgment about her sexual behavior.
After the song was posted, some noticed that he was unfollowed by Rihanna, who tweeted indirectly “Aw, poor dat #neaux1currr.” In response, Chris wrote via Twitter, "Assumptions! I didn't say any names so if u took offense to it then its something you feel guilty about."
