≤ One Million Moms takes up issue with comic book characters

One Million Moms, the conservative group which previously targeted JCPenney for hiring Ellen as their new spokesperson and Clorox for its “sexual” Liquid-Plumr ad, has extended its not-quite-one-million talons in the direction of Toys R Us, calling for a boycott of the chain over its stocking of an Archie comic featuring the same-sex marriage of character Kevin Keller.

Hunger Games Star Jennifer Lawrence: 'I Don't Diet'

Jennifer Lawrence doesn't suffer fools.

The no-nonsense actress, who stars in the highly anticipated upcoming movie The Hunger Games, is clear about a few things she doesn't like: phonies, actors who complain, and people who say they love exercise.

"I hate saying, 'I like exercising.' I want to punch people who say that in the face," Lawrence tells Glamour in its new April issue. "But it’s nice being in shape for a movie, because they basically do it all for you. It's like, 'Here's your trainer. This is what you can eat.' "

But she hasn't succumb to pressure from Hollywood to be super thin. "I don't diet," she says. "I do exercise! But I don't diet. You can't work when you’re hungry, you know?"

Work is the main thing on Lawrence's mind these days. With the release of The Hunger Games next month, Lawrence, who plays the lead role of Katniss Everdeen, is aware that her stardom is about to rocket into another orbit.

"I feel like I got a ticket to go to another planet and I'm moving there and there's no turning back, and I don’t know if I'm going to like that other planet or have friends there," she tells the magazine. "It's daunting."

Already her life has started to change – but it hasn't gotten out-of-control yet.

"The people who used to ignore me at parties, now they're nice to me and kissing my a--," she says. "But nobody's staked outside of my house. I wanted to make sure that when I said yes [to the role], I wouldn’t regret it. And I don't regret it. I would have said no because I was scared, and then I would have been that bitter actress telling my grandkids, 'I'm the one that turned it down.' "

As for the perks of fame, "I’m doing what I love, and then I get months and months of rest," she says. "I have a lot of money for a 21-year-old. I can't stand it when actors complain."

Plus, she says with her newfound success, she doesn't have to restrain herself when it comes to certain (relatively) pricey treats.

"Just recently I started letting myself eat things from the minibar," she says. "When we were kids, we would never open the minibar. A $6 Snickers bar? But the other day I was in a hotel and I was staring at a Snickers bar, and I finally just ate it. Then it was like something in me snapped. I opened all these drinks. I thought: I can do it now. Now I'm all grown-up. I can eat things from the minibar."

Assassin's Creed III officially announced, set in American Revolution

For years now we've enjoyed the adventures of Ezio Auditore as he makes his way through the Italian Renaissance and Ottoman-controlled Constantinople. That story is over. Ever since the conclusion of Assassin's Creed II, a senior team of Ubisoft developers has been secretly toiling away on what comes next. That team aimed high, with plans to examine and rethink every element of the franchise from the ground up, build something new, and take a full three year development cycle to do it.

The game that emerged is Assassin's Creed III. Set in the latter half of the 18th century, we'll see the war between the Templars and the Assassins escalate as it crosses over to the New World of America, and witness firsthand the events of the American Revolution. Caught in the conflict is a daring new hero in the Assassin's Creed franchise. We have the full story of this new hero and the striking game in which he stars, along with exclusive screens and art from the project, all packed into a massive 13-page cover story.

To whet your appetite, take a look at an early glimpse of the new game. Our cover image gives you the first hints of what to expect. Who is this new protagonist? What is his importance to the larger history-spanning story of the franchise? Let the speculation begin.

oxygen thief got signed by t.i

On Wednesday's episode of "RapFix Live," T.I. exclusively announced that he has signed Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth to his Grand Hustle label, but Tip also introduced Australian transplant Iggy Azalea as an official member of his team.

In February, Azalea told MTV News that T.I. reached out to her to establish a working relationship, but T.I. had a slightly different version of the story, telling MTV News just a couple of weeks later that it was Azalea who asked him to be the executive producer of her upcoming debut album, The New Classic. When MTV News finally caught up with both Azalea and T.I. at NBA All-Star Weekend, the straight story came out.

"Tip reached out just to meet me, to say hello, and I found a position for him, conveniently, where he could be used," Azalea explained. "And he was down with it; that's the truth."

Affectionately referring to Azalea as "The Iggamonster," T.I. also added his recollection of their first conversation. "I think her exact words were: 'It's very smart of you to call me because I'm going to be smashing sh-- for quite some time now and no one will be able to breathe if they're not on my team. So it's good that you'll be here, so you'll have oxygen." (oic)

"I did say that," Azalea confirmed. "I was like, 'I'm going to be a bushfire that sucks up all the oxygen so nobody can breathe and you might want an oxygen mask.'"

The Australian-born rapper, who released her first mixtape, Ignorant Art, last fall, has set June as a tentative album release. T.I. will serve as the executive producer for the project, guiding her as she pieces the album together.

In addition to working with Azalea and Trae, T.I. also added British rapper Chip (formerly known as Chipmunk) to Grand Hustle Records. It's set to be a big year for the Grand Hustle family.

Britney Spears Settles Sexual Harassment Suit

Britney Spears has settled a lawsuit filed by Fernando Flores, a bodyguard who worked for her for a very short time -- a bodyguard who claimed Britney was a sex-crazed maniac who came on to him and flashed him.

Sources close to Britney say the lawsuit is total B.S. -- he worked for her for about a minute.

Nonetheless ... Britney decided to end the lawsuit after going before a private mediator ... and it's officially case closed.

As for whether Britney paid Flores any loot ... no one is talking. The terms of the settlement are confidential. source

Hope he didn't get any money :( but at least Brit has something less to worry about :)

Brad Pitt Joins Star-Studded Prop 8 Play

Brad Pitt is set to join the cast of the West Coast premiere reading of 8, the play penned by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk) that follows the legal fight to overturn Proposition 8, the California law that outlawed gay marriage.

Pitt will play United States District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who found Prop 8 unconstitutional after presiding over the 12-day public trial. He joins a cast that includes George Clooney and Martin Sheen (as the plaintiff’s lead co-counsel), Christine Lahti and Jamie Lee Curtis (as a lesbian couple), Matthew Morrison and Matt Bomer (as a gay couple), as well as Kevin Bacon, Jane Lynch, John C. Reilly, Campbell Brown, Chris Colfer, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Cleve Jones, Rory O’Malley, George Takei, Yeardley Smith, Vanessa Garcia, Jansen Panatierre, James Pickens, Jr., and Bridger Zadina.

The American Foundation for Equal Rights and Broadway Impact also announced that the performance will be streamed live on YouTube at 7:45 p.m. PT on Saturday, March 3, with a pre-show airing at 7:30. Director Rob Reiner recorded a video explaining the play and inviting people to watch the live stream, which can be viewed here.

“At long last each and every American will be able to see for themselves what happens when prejudice and fear are put on trial in a court of law,” said AFER board president Chad Griffin in a statement. “For over two years, the anti-marriage proponents of Proposition 8 have fought tooth and nail to hide their discriminatory arguments from the American people. But on Saturday night, thanks to YouTube and our incredible cast, people across the nation, from Los Angeles to Little Rock to Baltimore, will get to watch as our Constitution’s promise of liberty and equality for all is protected.”

The show first premiered on Broadway in September (with cast members like Morgan Freeman, John Lithgow and Ellen Barkin) and is set to tour nationally throughout 2012, although the A-list stars attached to the West Coast reading are not expected to remain with the play.

George Clooney talks marriage equality and Brad Pitt, kicks off Ryan Goslings 2012 Sexiest Man Alive

Outspoken Oscar winner George Clooney recently sat down with The Advocate to discuss his appearance in a staged reading of Academy Award-winning Milkscribe Dustin Lance Black's Prop 8 play, 8. Though the interview primarily dealt with Clooney’s feelings on gay rights, the actor did offer up a few nuggets about his famous friends Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling.

Of his Ides of March costar, Clooney — who never misses a minute to invoke his two-time Sexiest Man Alive status — decried Gosling’s 2011 SMA snub. “Not that I don’t think Bradley Cooper is a perfectly sexy guy,” qualified Clooney, “but I’m still shocked that Ryan Gosling didn’t get Sexiest Man Alive last year. I thought he worked hard and ran a very solid campaign, so I feel that he was ripped off.”

And just as he lifted our spirits, Clooney would immediately crush them, admitting, “People think Brad and I hang out all the time, but the truth is that we see each other very rarely, maybe a couple times a year. ” Still, he said of his A-list bromance, “I do think we’ve set the bar very high [for other actor duos] … I’m very proud to call him my friend.”

As for his participation in 8, Clooney explained, “I felt that it was important to again bring focus to an issue that, in the very near future, we’ll look back on and laugh at the fact that it was ever an issue. It’s the right thing to do.” He drew parallels between this struggle and the Civil Right movement, saying, “One day the marriage equality fight will look as archaic as George Wallace standing on the University of Alabama steps keeping James Hood from attending college because he was black. People will be embarrassed to have been on the wrong side.”

Clooney addressed rumors about his sexuality and the issue of actors feeling pressure to stay closeted in Hollywood. “My private life is private, and I’m very happy in it. Who does it hurt if someone thinks I’m gay? I’ll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don’t give a s—.”

He credited stars Neil Patrick Harris and Ellen DeGeneres, who “have opened the door to making [being out in Hollywood] easier for everyone” but did admit, “A lot of actors come from a place of fear” when it comes to coming out or being vocal about politics. “You also have to remember that it’s very easy to immediately disenfranchise an actor with an opinion, because other than Ronald Reagan, actors aren’t allowed to have opinions,” he said.

What about playing gay? Will Clooney follow in the footsteps of buddy Matt Damon, who will play opposite Michael Douglas in an upcoming Liberace biopic? “There are a bunch of interesting stories out there, but I just haven’t found a screenplay with a gay subject that felt right for me as something that I could direct or act in. I’m certainly not avoiding it,” he said. “Whether it’s about being gay or it just happens to have a gay character, if it’s a great screenplay, let’s go do it.”

Clooney joins Chris Colfer, John C. Reilly, Kevin Bacon, and more in the staged reading of 8 this Friday in Los Angeles.

Dane Cook: NBC's next Alec Baldwin? Joel McHale? Aziz Ansari?

NBC is hot on the trail for its next male sitcom star, and has set its sights on a (fine-looking) dude best known for his fratboy sense of humor.

Comic-turned-feature film actor Dane Cook(Dan in Real Life) will headline the NBC comedy pilot Next Caller Please, a single-camera comedy in the works for fall that focuses on a brash alpha-male DJ and his new, plucky, feminist cohost, set in the offices of a satellite radio station.

The comedy is from Stephen Falk, Universal Television and Lionsgate Television.

NBC’s been hunting for a suitable role for Cook ever since last fall, when it signed him to a holding deal. This would mark Cook’s first foray into leading man territory on broadcast TV. He guest-starred on Hawaii 5-0 last year along with an episode of Louie. And then he’s got those film credits, like Mr. Brooks, My Best Friend’s Girl, and Employee of the Month.

Bobby Brown's Sister Leolah: Bobbi Kristina 'Is Not Safe Right Now'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Bobby Brown’s sister, Leolah Brown, is speaking out for the first time since Whitney Houston’s death, defending her brother and sending a warning to Bobby & Whitney’s daughter — Bobbi Kristina.

“I am concerned about my niece Bobbi Kristina, yes,” Leolah told Access Hollywood of her 18-year-old niece, who she refers to as “Krissy.” “Krissy is not safe right now. I want to say to Krissy that it’s very, very, very important that she does not trust anybody at this time. Anybody except her father, her grandmother Cissy and myself. And I mean that.

“Right now is the time to just really shut the door,” she continued.
Leolah and her attorney, Reginald Mason, remained unspecific about who may try to harm Krissy.

“There are persons that possibly would want to take advantage of Bobbi Kristina’s fragile state of mind,” Mason claimed.

Leolah claims her brother Bobby is not doing well, but says he is not to blame for Whitney’s demise.

“Bobby has nothing, nothing at all to do with Whitney’s death,” she told Access.

While awaiting toxicology results to determine what killed the singer, Leolah told Access that she has reached out to the Beverly Hills Police Department to make sure they do a thorough investigation.

“I believe Whitney’s death was not accidental. No,” she claimed.
According to Leolah, what then killed the singer?

“My attorney has advised me not to get into that at all,” she told Access. “But, it’s very important to know that she did not just pass away like that. No. And if it’s the last thing that I do, I’m going to find out what truly happened to my sister.”

Eddie Murphy: Oscars Would Have Been 'A Little Quicker With Me Driving'

While some had gripes with Billy Crystal's blackface routine hosting stint during the 84th Academy Awards, most were impressed that the typically long-winded ceremony finished rather early. It was the shortest Oscar telecast in over 30 years.

Though, apparently, that still wasn't brief enough for erstwhile 84th annual Academy Awards host Eddie Murphy. At the junket for his upcoming comedy, "A Thousand Words" -- a film that had its release date shifted to coincide with Murphy's Oscar-fueled "comeback" -- the star told "Extra" that, while he thought Crystal did a "great job," the show would have been "a little quicker with me driving."

As you'll recall, Murphy was hired as host of the Oscars by Brett Ratner, after the pair worked together on "Tower Heist." That union came undone once Ratner resigned as producer of the telecast following the firestorm caused by his homophobic remarks about rehearsals. Once Ratner was out, Murphy followed soon after, but -- in a surprise -- Murphy said he's still interested in the job.

"If they ask me again and it comes around, I'm totally open to do. It's one of the few things that I haven't done as a comedian. So, yeah, one day."

Hear that, Academy?

Jessica Lange will return to 'American Horror Story' -- EXCLUSIVE

If you liked Jessica Lange in season one ofAmerican Horror Story, then you’re going to love what creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have in store for season two: EW has learned exclusively that the two-time Oscar winner will return to the FX drama this fall.

The actress, who won a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award for her work as the hateful, bigoted (and extremely delicious) Constance Langdon, has signed a new deal to stay with the horror franchise. But she won’t reprise her memorable role in the new season, which resumes production in late July for a mid-October return to FX. She’ll play someone entirely new, promises Murphy.

We have designed the second season of American Horror Story completely around her character,” Murphy told EW exclusively. “Last year Jessica came in with Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott. This will really be the Jessica Lange show so I’m very excited about it. We are designing this amazing new opposite of the Constance character for her. She and I have spoken about different things. She has a lot of ideas, and has a lot of input into her character. She told me some things she has always wanted to play as an actress. She’s a great collaborator and a great friend.”

“I really sweated this negotiation,” continues Murphy, “so I’m glad she is firmly on board.”

Lange is not the only actor from season one who will return for a second year. Murphy said he signed three more, but won’t reveal their identities until Friday when he and the AHS cast members participate in the annual PaleyFest in Beverly Hills. (EW’s own Tim Stack will moderate.) Obviously, Britton and Walsh, aka the Harmons, won’t return because they perished at the end of season 1. That means potential returnees could be Denis O’Hare (Larry Harvey), Evan Peters (Tate Langdon), and Frances Conroy (Moira O’Hara).

AHS season 2 will take place on the East Coast and will involve a horror institution. Regrettably, that’s all we can get from Murphy.

Glee's Gay Suicide Storyline Caused The Trevor Project to See a 300% Increase in Calls/Web Traffic.

Last week's controversial winter finale episode of "Glee" may have shocked fans, but one lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth advocacy group has seen a number of benefits as a result.

As Entertainment Weekly is reporting, The Trevor Project saw their web traffic spike and their phone calls triple after the episode, which depicted former bully Dave Karofsky (played by Max Adler) attempting suicide -- to the tune of Young the Giant's "Cough Syrup" -- after being outed as gay to his classmates.

"What was great about the show is that they worked in conjunction with us so we knew in advance that there was going to in all likelihood be an increase in volume," Trevor Project co-founder Peggy Rajski tells EW. “What happened was the volume went up about 300 percent, but we were ready."

Adding extra punch, of course, was "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe's public service announcement, which also aired during the "Glee" time slot. "On average, our site probably attracts about an average of 1,500 visits a day,” Rajski said. “Tuesday we got 10,000. There’s the power of network TV.”

For his part, Adler praised the decision to bring back his character in such a poignant way. "It was a complete rainbow of emotions when I read it," the 26-year-old actor told the Hollywood Reporter. "There's excitement of being able to send a message like this into the world when people really need it and need to be spoken to honestly. It comes with the fear of representing it honestly and accurately."

Hate on Glee all you want but it's amazing that they were able to help so many people seek help.

The Wanted Can't Be Tamed

Not everyone in the US loves The Wanted...

Band are described as being as difficult as "trying to herd kittens into a bath"

With the boys cracking the charts in America, surely everyone loves The Wanted now, right? Right?

Well, not everyone... The Wanted have revealed that their British sense of humour and refusal to act like a traditional boyband rubbed some people up the wrong way when they arrived in the States.

Bandmember Jay McGuinness has revealed to the Daily Record that the band was a headache for their US record company in the beginning.

"The first gig we were playing in the States, we were told by the record company that we were not allowed to drink alcohol, consume caffeine or eat cheese or dairy. So we ordered a crate of beer, five four-cheese pizzas and lots of cups of coffee in our dressing room. As much as people can give us advice, they can't shoehorn us into doing things."

"In the end, they got our humour. It took a while and a lot of stress and they told us that dealing with us was like trying to herd kittens into a bath."

Sammy Davis Jr.'s Daughter Says Her Dad Would NOT Have Been Offended By Oscar Blackface.

Sammy Davis Jr.'s daughter Tracey Davis has spoken out on Billy Crystal's Oscar blackface controversy, and she insists her late father wouldn't have been offended.

"I am 100 percent certain my father is smiling," Davis told The Hollywood Reporter. "Billy previously played my father [on Saturday Night Live] when he was alive, and my father gave Billy his full blessing."

Davis also noted that she knows Crystal's impressions come from a good place.

"I know the mutual love, respect and admiration that you had for each other and for his kids, Jeff, Mark and I," she continued. "Thank you."

Regardless of Davis' feelings on Crystal's decision to appear in blackface during the first five minutes of the Academy Awards, others didn't take the impression as lightly.

"Shows just how far we've come since Billy Crystal appeared in blackface," comedian Paul Scheer tweeted when Octavia Spencer took the award for Best Supporting Actress in "The Help."

We reported last week that Simon Cowell (the God of reality talent shows) had told Olly Murs he couldn't present The Xtra Factor and carry on promoting his music. The X Factor runner-up, 27, is launching his solo album internationally in the summer and, depending on how it goes, may have to do some dates in Europe and the US during the audition stage of the next series of The X Factor.

Olly explained, "I really want to do [ Xtra Factor ]but when I asked Simon if I could just do the live shoes, he said 'No, it wouldn't be possible.' "

Last night though, during a performance in Dublin, he announced that he'll definitely be reuniting with Caroline Flack to host the spin-off ITV2 show for the next series.

Apparently he was so happy about this he busted out some particularly energetic dance moves.

Was there ever any doubt he'd go back? The Cowell always gets what he wants. Not sure what this means for his solo album though, but seeing as Simon pretty much owns that entire side of the Olly empire too, we're sure it'll be fine.

And we're happy because this means we get to watch him and Caroline flirt loads again while he makes suggestive comments every time a young boyband member appears. (lol)

The 13-page cover story in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly reveals four aspects of the book that won’t make the cut to the big screen.

Suzanne Collins was the first to insist on brevity in order to keep the emotional core of the story intact. Director Gary Ross and producer Nina Jacobson explain the changes.

Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat has revealed that the show will introduce new villains.

Englebert Humperdinck is UK Eurovision act for 2012

British crooner Englebert Humperdinck is to represent the UK at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

The 75-year-old, dubbed the "King of Romance", is best known for his 1967 hit Release Me, which kept The Beatles' Strawberry Fields Forever off the number one spot.

The singer said it was "an absolute honour" to be taking part and was "excited and raring to go".

This year's competition will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 26 May.

The song Humperdinck will perform has yet to be announced but the BBC said it would be recorded in London, Los Angeles and Nashville.

Is Jessica Chastain lying about being just 30? A 1998 article puts her at 35 now

You know I love Jessica Chastain. She’s so pretty, she’s so genuinely nice, and I think she can really act too. But it’s kind of slow today and we’re searching for something to report on. Hence this story that Jessica Chastain might not really be “30″ as her Wikipedia entry and IMDB states. I do remember reading somewhere that she was 31 or 32, and I remember squinting and thinking that she looked older than that. Radiant and lovely, but older than that. Well Kaiser pointed me to this article in HuffPo from last year in which they state that Jessica won’t disclose her age. They write “Chastain, who is about 30 but will not disclose her exact age, grew up in northern California and dreamed of becoming an actress from about the age of 5.” That’s arguably more honest than shaving a few years off and trying to claim that you’re younger, a la Agyness Dyen. (or Beyonce, or Catherine Zeta-Jones)

Reader Drew pointed out on that Agyness Dyen story that Mandisa from American Idol, who is 36, recently tweeted that she went to high school with Jessica. That would make Jessica 33 at least, if she was a freshman when Mandisa was a senior. (I tweeted Mandisa asking if she was in the same grade as Jessica, and have not yet heard back.) I guess I don’t blame Jessica for wanting to keep her age a secret, but it seems unlikely in this age of the Internet and IMDB.

Scarlett Johansson to star in 'Making of Psycho'

Director Sacha Gervasi has tapped Scarlett Johansson and James D'Arcy to play "Psycho" stars Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins in Fox Searchlight's "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho."

Anthony Hopkins will play the iconic director, while Helen Mirren will play his wife, Alma.

Gervasi's pic follows Hitchcock and his struggles during the filmmaking of the horror classic.

John McLaughlin penned the script. Ivan Reitman, Joe Medjuck and Tom Pollack will produce through their Montecito Picture Company along with Tom Thayer.

Sources tell Variety that "Making of Psycho" has drawn comparisons to "My Week With Marilyn," and that the role of Janet Leigh could lead to the same awards consideration for Johansson that the Marilyn Monroe role did for Michelle Williams.

Though D'Arcy's role is smaller compared to his co-stars, it's still considered a major part given how important Perkins is to the "Psycho" legacy.

Iran: Oscar win is victory over Israel

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) – Iran's state TV described the country's first foreign film Oscar win Monday as a victory over archfoe Israel, a rare nod of approval toward a movie industry often criticized by Iranian hardliners.

The official reaction to the victory of A Separation in Sunday's Academy Awards ceremony was cast mostly in nationalist terms amid a mounting showdown between Israel and its Western allies over Tehran's nuclear program.
