Michael Fassbender is hot and shirtless on this week's edition of The Hollywood Reporter. There was a lot of ground for Michael to cover with the publication, including his amazing 2011, full frontal nudity in Shame, and upcoming Steven Soderbergh movie Haywire. Shame has gotten Michael noticed this award season, and after getting a nod in the best actor category at the Golden Globes, odds are good that he'll add an Oscar acknowledgment to the list. In Michael Fassbender's Hollywood Reporter interview, he discussed that possibility and elaborated the differences between being a struggling vs. successful actor. Steven Soderbergh also weighed in to give Michael credit for his late-night abilities. Here are highlights from the article:
On going to the Oscars, and who he'd take: "It would just be a bonus, but of course I would take my mom down the red carpet."
On an odd job he took for money during lean years: "I had to call people who had filed complaints about the Royal Mail and see if they were happy with how their grievances were dealt with. Most of the time they weren't. My goal was for acting to become my main income. I would say to myself, 'I'm good enough.' That became my mantra."
On finally making it: "It's nice to have that security where you think if everything goes tits up, I've now got a flat I own and I don't have to worry about paying the bills and putting food on the table. I'm really lucky that it happened to me when it did, considering the recession."
Steven Soderbergh on Michael's abilities to party: "He’s a blast. We’re out one night and it’s 3:30 a.m., and we’re in someone’s kitchen and Michael is singing. I’m like, 'Dude, I gotta go.' The phrase Michael uses most often is, ‘So where are we going now?' He's the Duracell movie star.'"
I'm mad that they totally stole the picture that I took of him posing on our bed and used it for their cover. Who can I sue??? BTW, the full interview from The Hollywood Reporter is here, and here are some outtakes from the photo shoot.
Now, director Peter Berg has confirmed that a sequel is in the works. "We've been talking about the sequel between us, Will Smith, [producers] Michael Mann and Akiva Goldman and myself," he said. "We're all interested, but we literally just have trouble getting into the same room at the same time. We did have a series of meetings last year and started to hash out an idea for sequel — and Will Smith actually had the idea — so I think it will happen, it's just a question of timing."
Looking at past interviews, both Smith and Jason Bateman have stated that they would be more than happy to return. Stay tuned.
MICHAEL FASSBENDER enjoyed a torrid — and rather public — reunion with an ex-girlfriend, “Dante’s Cove” actress Leasi Andrews, early Monday morning. A source says the “Shame” actor and his former flame, who has a son with movie producer Lawrence Bender, got very hot and heavy “in a chair by the bathroom” at the Writers Room in Los Angeles.
Fassbender ran into Andrews when he arrived at the drinking den for post-Golden Globes partying with Gerard Butler. Earlier in the evening, the two hunks hung at CAA’s party at the Sunset Tower hotel with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney and Stacy Keibler.
After their PDA session, our source says the couple grabbed a cab to the Sunset Marquis Hotel, where Fassbender had a villa. Andrews was spotted leaving the hotel after noon in slippers. Fassbender’s agent did not respond to a request for comment and a rep for Andrews could not be reached.
Fassbender and Andrews’ reunion is interesting in light of allegations that the exotic beauty made against the “X-Men: First Class” actor in 2010. In March of that year, Andrews filed a motion in L.A. Superior Court asking for an order of protection against Fassbender and demanding that he move out of their Bel-Air home. As the Daily News reported, she claimed in court papers that in July 2009, Fassbender “threw [her] in a drunken fury and in November dragged her alongside their car, hurting her ankle and bursting an ovarian cyst.”
Andrews withdrew the motion in April 2010 because, according to a friend at the time, she didn’t want “to hurt” Fassbender’s blossoming career.
The fuck, y'all.

The interwebsphere is a buzz with Lana Del Rey post SNL hatred. I just thought I would do something I never do and give my opinion on it. (irony)
I have many random thoughts. First, everybody calm down. It’s a little troubling that when a young girl fails at something that we keep kicking her why she is down. I get very protective of girls, especially young performers, because they live a hard, emotionally challenging, often physically challenge life where you are constantly given reasons to be insecure and have panic attacks. I totally get the stuff about her not deserving to be there and I don’t mean to insult musicians in any way if that’s how they feel obviously, but this is an opportunity to show us how hard being a performer is so maybe they can all be cut some slack. Flack? I think we take our performers for granted. It’s super fucking hard to entertain people and it takes a lot of work.

Are Dexter stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter getting a second chance at love?
That’s what a canoodling session at Beverly Hill’s Peninsula Hotel Tuesday night would suggest, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
“Michael and Jennifer were seated at a dimly lit corner table, sipping wine. It was a very romantic setting and definitely looked like a date,” an eyewitness tells RadarOnline.com.
The Emmy winner and his ex-wife, who play brother and sister on the hit Showtime drama, eloped on New Year’s Eve in 2008, but divorced two years later amid rumors that Michael cheated with Julia Stiles, who guest starred on season 6.
However, inside sources claim that Hall -- now recovered from Hodgkin's lymphoma -- attacks was devastated by the split, and never fell out of love with Carpenter.
And, apparently the feeling is mutual.
“When Jennifer got up to use the ladies, Michael squeezed her hand, looked up at her and she smiled. And when she got back, they held hands on the table for a bit," the eyewitness says. "At one point, Michael leaned across the table and he and Jennifer kissed -- a make-out kind of kiss, not a friendly one. They both looked really happy.”
Maybe they were just celebrating their divorce, which was finalized last December?
Or perhaps celebrating their recent incest story line?

Adele’s 21 has smashed its way through 6 million US sales on its way to becoming the longest-running number one by a Brit in the history of the Billboard 200.
The album sold another 104,000 copies last week, taking its cumulative total in the States up to 6.05 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures.
As reported elsewhere on this site, that secures it a 16th week at the top of the Billboard 200, the longest run by a British studio album in the near 56-year history of the chart. It thus overtakes The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pink Floyd’s The Wall, which were each number one for 15 weeks, although Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours –with a three-fifths UK line-up – and the Bee Gees-led Saturday Night Fever soundtrack managed 31 and 24 weeks at number one respectively.

From Celebslam: No doubt because of an insane case of the bong-induced munchies, Miley Cyrus packed on 15 pounds late last year. And then promptly spent $50k to lose it. It's fun being rich. From In Touch Weekly:
A pal tells In Touch, the teen — who packed on the pounds late last year — enlisted the help of a nutritionist, chef and her old personal trainer, Harley Pasternak, to whip herself into bikini-ready shape ahead of her recent Hawaiian getaway with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. "Miley probably spent $50,000 to lose 15 pounds in a few weeks," the friend says. "She didn't care what it cost as long as she looked good!"

Original Oldboy helmer Chan-wook Park is making his U.S. directorial debut with Stoker, which is due to hit theaters before the end of 2012. He will also lend a helping hand to fellow Korean filmmaker Joon-ho Bong on the latter’s own first English-language project, titled Snow Piercer (which Park will produce).
Captain America himself, Chris Evans, is set to headline the movie, which is based on Bong’s screenplay. Evans looks to be in good company, seeing how the likes of award-winners Jamie Bell and Tilda Swinton are currently in the midst of negotiations to co-headline Bong’s latest cinematic tale.
Bong spoke to Collider (all the way back in 2009) about Snow Piercer, which he says is based on a French graphic novel titled “Le Transperceneige.” Variety has also confirmed that the apocalyptic story takes place “in a new ice age” and revolves around a pack of survivors who are forced to live together on a train. However, even with the world’s end upon them, differences in class and social standing still separate the main characters, making it all the more difficult for them to peacefully co-exist with their fellow passengers.

When Bruce Springsteen hits the concert trail on a world tour in May, he’ll have a new album’s worth of material to draw from in “Wrecking Ball,” a collection of 11 new songs to be released March 6.
Springsteen’s website runs down the titles from the New Jersey rocker’s 17th studio album, which was produced by Springsteen and Ron Aniello. An expanded edition also will be available with two extra tracks as well as more photos and artwork.
The first single from the album is its lead-off track, “We Take Care of Our Own,” which can be heard here:
The announcement makes no mention of the E Street Band, but the single features the backing of a band, indicating “Wrecking Ball” is not a solo acoustic Springsteen effort.
"Bruce has dug down as deep as he can to come up with this vision of modern life,” said his manager, Jon Landau, who also is executive producer of the album, in a statement posted on Springsteen's website. “The lyrics tell a story you can't hear anywhere else and the music is his most innovative in recent years. The writing is some of the best of his career and both veteran fans and those who are new to Bruce will find much to love on 'Wrecking Ball.'"
It will be Springsteen’s first recording, and tour, since the death last year of saxophonist Clarence “Big Man” Clemons, who died from complications from a massive stroke.
Springsteen’s tour with the E Street Band opens May 13 in Seville, Spain, and the first leg to be announced includes 31 shows in 26 European cities. More dates including the U.S. are still to be detailed.
Springsteen also is a keynote speaker at this year’s South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin in March.

Music publications this week are reporting that Jay-Z has penned a poem swearing off the use of the word "bitch," in honor of his newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
The first publication to report the poem's existence, Rolling Out, cites no publication source for the poem and could not be reached for comment. Sources close to the rapper have declined to confirm or deny its authenticity.
A day before the re-opening of his NYC night club, 40/40 Club, Jay-Z told The Daily News that the "poem and story are fake."

Emma Stone recently dished to Style.com about her favorite hair and beauty products. Since the Revlon brand ambassador always looks so lovely, we were anxious to find out the star's cosmetic staples.
Unsurprisingly, there were several Revlon products on Emma's roster. She mentioned Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel was a current favorite, especially "super-bright shades like fuchsia and purple." This unique formulation is touted by the brand as having a "gel-like shine and up to 11 days of shatterproof color." She also loves Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara, Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in the delicious-sounding Candy Apple shade and Revlon ColorStay Makeup in Buff.
Emma's other essentials are much more surprising. Exactly how does she care for that flawless porcelain skin? "I just use natural grapeseed oil from the grocery store on my face as moisturizer. After the shower, I pat it on, and then I'll use it throughout the day and at night." Stone also uses Burt's Bees Naturally Ageless Intensive Repairing Serum, a great smoother and strengthener that is perfect for even super-sensitive complexions.
Lastly, Emma uses Davines Love Smoothing Shampoo and Nounou Conditioner to care for her color-treated curls. She might need rich hydrators on her skin, but she claims her tresses are a whole different story. The clarifying shampoo, she says, "doesn't weight down my hair, and the conditioner is great for baby-fine hair."

Courtney Stodden nearly lost her puppies today after struggling to control them with her "security guard".
Courtney Stodden decided to lend her animal magnetism to PETA today, but not all went according to plan.
Dressed in a revealing white short dress complete with zip at the front, the 17-year-old teen bride struggled to control a dog she was walking during a publicity stunt for PETA.
The pup's leash escaped her grip and ran ahead of the buxom blonde.
And rather than running after the pooch, Courtney, the much younger wife of Green Mile actor Doug Hutchison, 51, came to standstill and gasped.
And it's not like she couldn't run after the animal in her sky-high heels.

McLEAN, Virginia (AP) — One of the world's largest file-sharing sites was shut down Thursday, and its founder and several company executives were charged with violating piracy laws, federal prosecutors said.
An indictment accuses Megaupload.com of costing copyright holders more than $500 million in lost revenue from pirated films and other content. The indictment was unsealed one day after websites including Wikipedia and Craigslist shut down in protest of two congressional proposals intended to thwart online piracy.
The Justice Department said in a statement said that Kim Dotcom, formerly known as Kim Schmitz, and three others were arrested Thursday in New Zealand at the request of U.S. officials. Two other defendants are at large.
Megaupload was unique not only because of its massive size and the volume of downloaded content, but also because it had high-profile support from celebrities, musicians and other content producers who are most often the victims of copyright infringement and piracy. Before the website was taken down, it contained endorsements from Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys and Kanye West, among others.
The Hong Kong-based company listed Swizz Beatz, a musician who married Keys in 2010, as its CEO.
A live taping of the Disney Channel show "Good Luck Charlie" turned into a virtual S&M display with a female audience member getting SPANKED over and over again in front of her 2 children this according to a new lawsuit.
The woman behind the suit is Kellie Rodriguez who claims she took her kids, her sister-in-law and 3 nieces to a taping in L.A. on December 22, 2011 when she noticed she was being checked out by the comedian in charge of entertaining the audience, Ron Pearson.
According to the suit, Kellie was later chosen to participate in an audience competition -- in which the contestants would perform a "silly dance" to the Village People's YMCA and the winner would get a prize.
Kellie claims she began to dance when "all of a sudden and without warning, Pearson started spanking [her] buttocks with his hands."
In the suit, Kellie continues, "The unwarranted and unconsented spanking was RELENTLESS and did not cease until [Kellie] physically turned around to stop it."
The worst part -- Kellie claims she didn't even win the dance contest.
But there's more Kellie claims after the competition, Pearson asked for a kiss on the cheek but when she went in for the peck, he turned his head at the last second and kissed her on the mouth instead.
In the suit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Kellie claims it was not only unwarranted and humiliating -- but she claims her children were sad and confused later asking their mommy, "Why did that man kiss you?"
Kellie wants Pearson to pay, same with Disney, claiming the Mouse House "condoned, encouraged or ratified" the comic's behavior by employing him in the first place.
She's suing for unspecified damages. Calls to Disney and Pearson have not been returned.
In Out Magazine's Love Issue, Doogie Howser cuts open the veins in his beating heart and spills out the story of how he immediately started seeing hearts seconds after meeting his now fiancé David Burtka. That's the kind of shit my soul wants to deepthroat.
We already know that Kate Burton is returning to Grey’s in an upcoming episode, but could Katherine Heigl be next?
The actress told E! that she’d be open to returning to the show, and has, in fact, already reached out. ”I’ve told them I want to [return],” she said. “I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is. I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she’s doing now. My idea is that she actually, like, figures it out, and finds some success and does really well in a different hospital. She was always floundering, you know, and so she was always one step behind the eight ball and I want to see that girl take some power back.”
Heigl, who last appeared on the show in 2010, left the show, saying she wanted to focus on her family.
A show rep had no comment on Heigl’s claim or any plans in the works.

GOODBYE, lip liners, brow pencils, spackled-on foundations. The hottest beauty trend of 2012 is imperfection.
The new look for the new year is effortless, minimalist, just-out-of-bed-with-your-lover, according to leading hair and makeup artists. They say that stiff coiffures, overdone eyes, defined lips and matte skin are out. Tousled hair, smudged eyeliner, dewy lips and luminous skin are in. The look is “coming home from the party,” not “going out to the party,” said Terry Barber, director of makeup artistry for MAC Cosmetics. “Perfection got slightly boring.”

Common and Drake are on opposite sides of a high-profile rap quarrel at the moment – but Common tells Rolling Stone he isn't too proud to admit he respects his adversary as an artist. "I think he makes good music," the Chicago veteran says of Drake. "He's definitely said some real clever things and made some cool songs. I like his music."
Tension between the two MCs has been building for weeks, with both Common and Drake sending what appeared to be veiled insults each other's way in songs and live performances. Earlier this month, their war of words went public when Drake spit some particularly hostile-sounding rhymes on his Rick Ross collaboration "Stay Schemin'" – only to be met with a spirited unofficial remix by Common, who comically dubbed the younger Toronto star "Canada Dry."
"I don't think I had anything to prove," Common says. "I just felt like somebody stepped and challenged me, so I had to step into the ring. He said some things that I thought were directed at me, so I had to address it back."
Now that it's all out in the open, Common is ready to move on. "I feel like I said what I had to say, and I'm just going to let it be at that point," he says. "Now, if something else happens, then I'll just have to act accordingly. But right now, I feel like, man, I said what I needed to say about this situation on record."
Adds Common: "It's nothing like, 'Oh man, it's so personal.' (righttttttt) It's just the art of rhyming, man. The art of rhyming!"
all i have to say is Canada Dry tastes really good mixed with vodka

American Idol is back! The show that launched Scotty McCreery into country stardom and Lauren Alaina into relative anonymity is returning for its eleventh season. And this time, it promises to be more secure in itself. The judges all know what role they are here to play--Steven's the kooky one! Randy's the "real" one! J. Lo is the pretty one! And the nice one. Will this first episode be about the real talent, the judges, or the wacky auditions? We've got two hours, it can be all three! But first, American Idol has to remind me that it has been on for 10 years and most of the kids auditioning were toddlers when Kelly Clarkson won. I may or may not have been old enough to audition. Now we just need to know what the thing's about. The first film's Enterprise crew, featuring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin, will be joined by newcomers Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller. If action-packed love triangles are your thing, Fox may have just switched up your Valentine’s Day plans. The studio announced today that they’re moving up the release of McG’s action-comedy This Means War. The film stars Chris Pine and Tom Hardy as two CIA operatives who find out they’re dating the same woman (Reese Witherspoon). They then proceed to utilize their super secret CIA skills (explosions and dart guns) to battle for Witherspoon’s affection. The trailer looked pretty ridiculous, but I’m still holding out hope that the full film delivers. The cast is enticing and the premise could be a lot of fun if executed right, so we’ll see if McG has a winner. The film’s biggest Valentine’s Day competition is The Vow starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, which opens on February 10th. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and bet that most guys will be partial to the one with explosions.

"So anyway... Interscope offered us a bunch of money again to release our new album TEN$ION.
But this time, they also tried to get involved with our music, to try and make us sound like everyone else out there at the moment.
So we said: 'U know what, rather hang on to your money, buy yourself something nice...we gonna do our own thing. Bye bye''")

2 Broke Girls is looking for a "hot Asian guy" to play a web designer and love interest for Caroline on an upcoming episode, according to a casting notice picked up by the blog Angry Asian Man. It's almost as if the show is doing a little bit of penance for its regressive, racist caricatures! Probably not quite that, though, since Michael Patrick King doesn't seem to think there's anything wrong with blatant and unimaginative ethnic stereotyping. We're sure Han, the show's most egregiously unfunny character, will get "dimensionalized" any day now.
"Mad Men" has released a brand new poster for the long-awaited Season 5 and it's getting quite a bit of attention. Gone are the images of the stars in period clothing with slick hairstyles and seductive poses. The poster is super minimalist and it's causing people to sit up and take notice.
The poster shows a silhouette of a man falling out of the sky with the premiere date of March 25th in the show's font underneath. The simple poster is taken by some to be a nod to the show's opening credits. Reaction from other viewers imply that this is an unpleasant reminder of 9/11.
Take a look at the poster and let us know what you think. Are you okay with the image? Does it bother you? We'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter, as well as what you're anticipating most about Season 5 of "Mad Men." We wonder what Don Draper would think of this poster.
Here is the official release from TheBigandTheBeautiful.com: "I wanted to pass along an ad that has been rejected by NBC. The ad stars America's Next Top Model winner and plus-sized model Whitney Thompson. She believes they rejected the commercial because it features bigger women and not the skinnier accepted norm.
The ad is for TheBigAndTheBeautiful.com -- a dating site for plus-sized men and women that was founded by Thompson. NBC Universal's rejection email said: "Unfortunately it needs to be completely reworked for our air. S&P [Standards and Practices] wouldn't approve it."
Listen up, marketers. These will be the only words I'm devoting to the tired practice of trying to drum up media coverage by claiming a network banned your ad from the Super Bowl when the truth is it never had a shot (and shame on any media outlet that picks this up as a legit story).

Remember that lovely series back the 80's with Ron Perlman and Lnda Hamilton about an educated, romantic beast living under the city? Well the new series is loosely based on that one only it's "a modern day romantic love story with a procedural twist."
If these pilots are well received you can expect to see them on CW's 2012 Fall schedule.

Those reports about Avril Lavigne splitting with Brody Jenner, her boyfriend of two years, may have been premature. Both expressed their love for each other yesterday via Twitter, with Jenner in particular taking offense at the breakup rumors.
E! News and Us Weekly were among the outlets claiming to have inside information that the couple was no more, but Jenner responded by writing, “It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories. Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her.” Avril retweeted the message and added, “luv u 2!!! @BrodyJenner.”
Jenner seemed a little angry, which contradicts his Twitter profile statement, which reads in part, “I have plenty of room for positive energy and NONE for negative.” However, having the press incorrectly report that you have split with the love of your life would probably upset anyone.
Were the gossip columns totally wrong? Or is it possible Avril and Brody are being coy about their problems — much like Jada Pinkett Smith denying that she and Will Smith are splitting, even though she’s been spotted visiting a divorce lawyer? Only time will tell.

The Artist is being tipped to collect a raft of Baftas – but some cinemagoers are demanding their money back because it is a silent film.

But audiences at some Odeon Cinemas are unimpressed by the homage to the "Golden Age" of silent films and a smaller-than-usual screen.
Freestyle skier Sarah Burke died Thursday, a week after suffering a serious head injury while training in Utah.
"Sarah was someone who lived life to the fullest," said Peter Judge, CEO of the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association. "She was an example in her community and to young people. She'll be gravely missed."
Burke had been in training at the Eagle Superpipe at Park City Mountain Resort in Utah when she fell on Jan. 10 and suffered a ruptured vertebral artery that caused a severe hemorrhage in her brain and put her into cardiac arrest.
She was taken to the University of Utah Hospital and placed on life support. She underwent surgery to repair the artery and was placed into a state of therapeutic hypothermia to protect her brain. But she failed to recover.

Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner’s demands for absolute editorial control has killed a deal with American Media Inc. to create a Kardashian-devoted fanzine — after she insisted on approval on all stories about her family across their titles.
Page Six recently revealed the family was in talks with the publisher — home to Shape, Star, National Enquirer and Radar Online — to create a magazine entirely dedicated to the family’s antics.
But sources told us the deal turned sour after Jenner demanded she have editorial approval over every AMI publication to ensure wall-to-wall positive coverage of the overexposed reality robots.

Former Miss USA Rima Fakih is speaking out only to RumorFix about her DUI case saying she’s no Lindsay Lohan.
The Arab-American beauty found out Wednesday she may stand trial in March on a drunken-driving charge unless a plea deal is reached for her December 3, 2011 DUI arrest near Detroit.
But the Lebanese beauty says she doesn’t want special treatment because of her title. She tells RumorFix exclusively, “There are celebrities out there like Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan who think they can get out of things, like they miss their court date, or they feel like they can get out of jail because they’re someone. But I don’t expect that, I expect them to see that I am human and I take responsibility for everything I do in my career.
“I made a mistake,” Fakih tells RumorFix exclusively, “No one is perfect and I make mistakes too and I just want everyone in this world to know that I’m just like you, and I’m not trying to take advantage of anything or be treated like anyone else.”
Fakih won the Miss USA title in 2010 and served until June 2011. Once her legal troubles are over, she tells us her next dream is to win an Oscar.

Last night, audiences at Los Angeles’ The Laugh Factory were treated to a surprise set from comedian Dane Cook—and by “treated to,” we mean “bombarded with,” and by “set,” we mean “the egotistical ramblings of a narcissist who has lost all touch with humility and quite possibly humanity.” At least, that’s the basic gist of several eyewitness accounts from some of the comedians who were there—some of whom, like Daniel Kinno, found themselves bumped so that Cook could take the stage for as long as he wanted while he worked out new material, a raw process of discovery that Kinno describes thusly: “Watched him spiral for 45 minutes before I left. Could have been worse, he could have done his act.”
YouTube star Jenna Marbles was slightly less charitable or pithy, saying, “Dane Cook took a shit on everyone. Might as well have been literally.” And stand-up comic and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon writer Ali Waller provided a more specific appraisal, saying, “Glad Dane Cook stopped by the Improv tonight, otherwise I'd never hear the story about how he ‘chainsaw-fucked’ a ‘disgusting whore's cunt.’” (Aww, you missed that? Yes, you missed that.)

BAFTA-winning actress Lauren Socha is to appear at Derby Crown Court charged with racially assaulting a taxi driver.
A Derbyshire police spokeswoman confirmed that the 21-year-old from Littleover had been arrested following a complaint.
She said: "The alleged assault took place around 2am on October 1 at the Morledge in Derby city centre.
"She was arrested and charged with racially aggravated assault."
Socha, a former pupil at St Benedict Catholic School, Darley Abbey, did not want to comment yesterday.
She is best known for her role as Kelly Bailey in E4's Misfits. It was for this role that she won the Bafta for Best Supporting Actress in May last year.
Then in November, she picked up the Ultimate TV Actress award from the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards in London.
Socha has also featured in Channel 4 film The Unloved – which earned her a Bafta nomination – and BBC1 drama Five Daughters, about five women murdered in Ipswich in 2006.
Damn, Lauren, what the fuck? :/
US Weekly has a big article this week about Heather Locklear’s sad breakdown. I knew she was having serious substance abuse issues, but the details they gave really brought it home for me. Heather just turned 50 last year and recently split up with her fiancee, her former Melrose Place co-star Jack Wagner. She took it extremely hard and has been mixing booze with prescription drugs. We heard that she was hospitalized on January 12 with a potential overdose after she complained of stomach pains. Then the news came out that she’d had a fight with her ex Jack that had come to blows. Here’s US’ story, which just makes me feel sad for her more than anything. She’s a starlet who has taken aging and the loss of a once-hot career extremely hard.
It was never too early to drink for Heather Locklear. About twice a week, she would leave her house in Westlake Village, California, throw on a pair of dark sunglasses and head to her favorite watering hole along. “She come in around 10:30, 11, sit by the bar and have two or three vodkas on the rocks, easy,” an eyewitness tells Us. “She always seemed so sad and lost…”
“Heather has been a mess for the last several months,” says an insider. And her drinking only escalated after she and her beau of four years, Jack Wagner, split in November, calling off their three-month engagement. “She doesn’t get out of bed most days,” says the source. The situation was so dire, in fact, that her daughter, Ava, 14 has been living with her Bon Jovi rocker dad, Locklear’s ex-husband Richie Sambora. Now that Locklear is home from the hospital, says the source, “her family is terrified. They think she’ll hit rock bottom before she finally admits she needs serious help.”
[From US Weekly, print edition, January 30, 2012]
Heather has a lot of family and friends around her who are trying to get her into rehab, and I’m hoping they’re successful and that she can find some meaning in life. Her identity was so caught up in being a beautiful bitchy TV star that it seems like she’s never been able to move past that.
Is it sad how invested we all were in Britney's and Lindsay's breakdowns but once it happens with an aging actress, we suddenly don't care?

This was originally supposed to be a review of the Xavier Gens film "The Divide."
That will not be happening.
Over the course of my life, I'd wager I've seen at least 10,000 movies. Maybe more. I've had years where I've mainlined as many as 500 movies, many of them older catalog titles. I have a voracious appetite for all types of movies, both high art and low. I love smart sophisticated movies, I love experimental films, and I love genre junk. I love any movie that offers me a genuine experience of some sort, where there's something that moves me or that I recognize as true and well-observed or where someone just plain surprises me. I am open to pretty much anything when I sit down to a new film.
But at the age of 41, at about 94 minutes into "The Divide," I reached a breaking point, and I realized that I am pretty much incapable of sitting through one more cheap, pointless, exploitative rape in a movie.

This article brings up a lot of good points. I especially love the points about Dragon Tattoo and people who use the word "rape" superfluously.
Given the headline of this article, there's a 50 percent chance that you would assume that the above quote is from "Spartacus," the Starz gladiator drama that is well known for its regular displays of violence.
But the quote comes from Mrs. Patmore, the cook on "Downton Abbey," who makes that observation in an upcoming Season 2 episode of the tony PBS period piece.
And I'm betting you can believe that statement came from a character on the PBS show, because both of these dramas, despite their surface differences, cover very similar terrain.
Both "Downton Abbey" and "Spartacus" are obsessed with power. Who has it? Who wants it? Why do people wield it the way they do? What do people will do to obtain it? And what do people have to sacrifice in order to break free of the rigid rules that hold them in place? Fear and power go hand in hand, which is something the long-suffering Daisy, Mrs. Patmore's sole minion, knows well.
Taye has written a children’s book called ‘Chocolate Me!’ where he draws from hurtful personal experiences from when he was younger and teaches kids to be happy just the was they are. As a dad with a 2-year-old interracial son, Taye discusses raising a mixed race child, how race affected him growing up, his parent’s making sure he always had positive black influences and how he feels Denzel and Wesley Snipes created a “shift” in the industry for the dark chocolate brothas. He also recently sat down with MyBrownBaby.com and revealed that it wasn’t until he accidentally came across an article about Tyson Beckford that he was proud to be dark.

Keanu Reeves' moviemaking documentary "Side by Side" gets its first trailer available for viewing pleasure. The video offers a look at Reeves as he interviews several big names in film industry. Among those master filmmakers who are featured in the trailer are George Lucas, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, Steven Soderbergh, David Lynch and Martin Scorsese.
The trailer highlights the discussion among the A-list moviemakers regarding the film vs. digital debate. Cameron points out, "You can't shoot 3D on film, so film has been dead in my heart for ten years." Meanwhile, "The Dark Knight" acclaimed cinematographer, Wally Pfister, chimes in, "I hate 3D. I put on those 3D glasses, I get sick to my stomach. The whole 3D phenomenon, it's a marketing scheme, isn't it?"
Lynch, Lucas, Nolan and Soderbergh also share their opinions regarding the issue. Meanwhile, New Yorker filmmaker Lena Dunham shows her support to digital video. "Without digital video culture I don't think I would ever have been making movies because...basically in my head I was, like, 'You've got to be a dude who knows how to operate machines to do this job'," she says.
On the other hand, Scorsese has a different perspective on the debate. The director who receives praises for his 3D work in "Hugo" wisely explains, "The issue, it's different. How is it different, and how do use it to tell a story? It's up to the filmmaker."
Keanu Reeves produces the documentary along with Justin Szlasa, while Christopher Kenneally serves behind the lens. The movie will be premiered during the Special Section at the 2012 Berlin International Film Festival.

After years of laying relatively low, The Material Girl has returned to the publicity circuit to promote her new film and album. Madonna is a talented artist and a marketing genius, both of which have earned her many well-deserved accolades, but she won’t be receiving any Miss Congeniality awards anytime soon.
Despite staying quiet about the never-ending “Born This Way” versus “Express Yourself” drama for nearly a year, Madge has finally decided to speak out on the issue. So, what does Madonna think about “Born This Way?” In short, it would appear that she agrees with Gaga’s critics that the song is far too similar to “Express Yourself.” Madonna summed up her opinion of “Born This Way” in a cleverly backhanded way by stating, “What a wonderful way to redo my song.” But not so fast Madonna!
What Madonna seems to have conveniently forgotten is that “Express Yourself” received a fair bit of criticism itself for borrowing from the chorus to the Staples Singers’ 1971 hit “Respect Yourself.” Many of us have fond memories of listening to Madonna exclaim, “Express yourself! Hey hey hey hey!” over the radio. However, it turns out the Staples Singers were exclaiming “Respect yourself! Dee dee dee dee!” in an awfully similar way over 40 years ago.
