Tim Burton Courting RDJesus to Star in Live-Action "Pinocchio"

In the version being developed at Warner Bros., the actor would play Geppetto, the woodcarver who created the boy and who spends much time trying to reunite with his missing marionette.

Tim Burton's interest in tackling a live-action version of Pinocchio is heating up, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. And Burton's choice to topline the movie is Robert Downey Jr. as Geppetto, the woodcarver who creates the puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy.

The Pinocchio story was first published in an Italian children's book written by Carlo Collodi and has been adapted several times, including the 1940 animated Disney classic.

In the version being developed at Warner Bros., Geppetto embarks on a quest to reunite with his missing marionette. The well-regarded script is by Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller. Dan Jinks (American Beauty) is producing.

Neither Burton nor Downey has a deal with Warners, but sources say Burton is keen to direct the film and has begun talks with the studio, so it's just a question of whether Pinocchio will be his next movie. The Alice in Wonderland director also is eyeing an adaptation of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children at Fox, among other projects. Warners wants to move quickly with Pinocchio, so if Burton chooses to make another movie first, the studio might move on to other directors.

According to two well-placed sources, Downey has expressed serious interest in the project (and in working with Burton), but his busy schedule must still be worked out. Warner Bros. is hoping that Burton and Downey commit soon so the project can be fast-tracked.

If deals are made, Pinocchio would return Downey to Warners, which is behind his Sherlock Holmes franchise, the latest installment of which currently is in theaters. Downey also starred in the 2010 Warners comedy Due Date.

Burton is currently at work finishing Warner Bros.' Dark Shadows, based on the cult television series. That film is set for release in May.

Patrick Wilson reveals his beauty secrets

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I reached Patrick Wilson by phone as he was on his way to the set of his CBS series “A Gifted Man,” in which he appears as Dr. Michael Holt. Wilson is on camera a great deal, with a lot of close-ups, and of course the series is filmed in high definition — so he and his makeup artist, Anita Gibson, pay close attention to his skincare regimen (especially since he has to shave daily). I got the whole grooming scoop for you gentlemen. And ladies, I think you’ll find something of interest here, too!

Xtina: "I'm happy where I am.. my son is healthy & happy.. I love my body. That's all that matters."

She may be a blogs fixture for her hair, clothes or figure, but “The Voice’s” lone lady coach, Christina Aguilera, is totally comfortable in her own skin.

“I’ve been in this for a long time. I came out on the scene when I was 17 years old. ‘You can never be too much of anything. You can never be too prefect, too thin, too curvy, too voluptuous,’ this, that. I’ve been on all sides of the spectrum.. [Every] female in this business at one time or another has had criticism… and I’m always a risk taker too,” Christina said on Friday during NBC’s “The Voice” panel at the Television Critics Association Winter Session in Pasadena.

“I’m very confident in my body,” the singer continued. “I think my video works over the years have spoken to that… I’ve been no stranger to being very comfortable in my own skin,” she added.

First Review of Shameless US Season 2 (Premiering Sunday)

It would be easy to write the series "Shameless" off as another cable TV excuse to show nudity, alcoholism, rampant drug use, petty theft, unlicensed day care, home growing, purse emptying, fiscally motivated courting, foster child exploitation, credit card fraud, murder by information omission, wife cheating, ice-cream-truck-based beer selling, Little League bookmaking and behind-the-back name calling.

But to compile such a list is to get at the great, rowdy, often comic joy of this series, which confronts your morality at every turn and, within the confines of its own South Side world, very often shifts it, at least temporarily.

In chronicling the six children and one deadbeat dad of the Gallagher clan — a character's map puts the ramshackle home in the vicinity of 19th Street and Kedzie Avenue — "Shameless" overflows with life and, specifically, with the barely controlled chaos of life on the financial edge.

Frederica Sagor Maas dies at 111; silent film screenwriter

One of Frederica Sagor Maas' scripts launched Clara Bow. Maas eventually quit the movie business in disgust and much later wrote a scathing book about the industry.

One of the last links to the silent film era, Frederica Sagor Maas wrote the script for 1925's "The Plastic Age," which launched actress Clara Bow. But she watched in horror as her serious treatment on women and work was turned into a frivolous 1947 musical, "The Shocking Miss Pilgrim," starring Betty Grable.

It was Maas' final Hollywood credit.

Disgusted by the "shallow" industry, she and her screenwriter husband contemplated suicide before leaving the movie business altogether, she later wrote.

For Maas, living an exceedingly long life was the best revenge.

"It's my only consolation to think, 'All you lousy so-and-sos are all 20 feet under, and I'm still here.' It's a satisfaction, but not a great satisfaction," she told the San Francisco Chronicle in 1999.

LeAnn Rimes Looking Almost Healthy In Latest Bikini Pics

We spotted LeAnn Rimes showing off her bikini body as she had breakfast with husband Eddie Cibrian in Maui yesterday. The singer generated controversy several months ago for being too thin, and many suggested she may be battling an eating disorder. We don't think she looks emaciated in these recent pics. What do you think?

LeAnn is getting agitated with many of the rumors surrounding her, particularly those involving baby talk. On Monday she tweeted, "I have never even tried (to get pregnant). Please stop discussing my ovaries. I just think its (sic) crazy that people make articles out of nonsense."

Meanwhile, her husband's ex-wife made headlines this week for her one day "marriage." The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Brandi Glanville wed mixed martial arts manager Darin Harvey on Saturday night in Las Vegas. But the nuptials weren't legal.

Glanville and Cibrian split and then divorced after his romance with Rimes was made public in 2009. Cibrian and Rimes wed last year.

Sam Worthington Talks WRATH OF THE TITANS; Describes THUNDER RUN Filming Process as Cross Between AVATAR and TRON

Before the release of James Cameron’s box office juggernaut Avatar, Sam Worthington was relatively unknown here in the U.S. However, the guy’s acting career took off in a big way in 2009 and is showing no signs of slowing down. Steve recently got the chance to sit down with Worthington to talk about his latest film Man on a Ledge. While we’ll have the full conversation up closer to the movie’s release, we wanted to share what Worthington had to say about two highly anticipated upcoming projects.

The actor spoke about the Clash of the Titans sequel Wrath of the Titans, including his reaction to the finished film, and he briefly talked about the upcoming 3D motion-capture Iraq war film Thunder Run. He described the filming process of the latter as a mix between Avatar and Tron, and talked about the ambitious scope of the project. Hit the jump for more.

NBC Chairman: 'We had a really bad fall season'

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt has admitted that the network suffered a "really bad" fall season.

In the latter half of 2011, the network canceled new shows including The Playboy Club, Prime Suspect and Free Agents as ratings dropped by 11% to an average of 7.4 million viewers and a 2.5 adult demo.

"We had a really bad fall," Greenblatt confessed at a press tour event. "[It was] worse than I had hoped for, but actually about what I expected.

"People keep saying the only place we have to go is up - which I think is true, but there's a lot of work to do before we get there. We had few strong lead-ins - our most recent scripted hit, The Office, is six years old. Some of our older hits lost cast members."

Greenblatt also suggested that NBC's merger with Comcast would be "good news" for viewers, saying: "They're investing in our business, not only with financial resources, but with their patience."

Other revelations from the NBC press event include the confirmation of guest mentors for The Voice season two, news of Harry Connick Jr's guest stint in Law & Order: SVU and assurance that Community has not been canceled.

Europe's answer to Lady Gaga releases highly anticipated new music video

It's finally here! Fans have been eagerly awaiting the video to the hit song "Geronimo" by Aura Dione, which has been on radio all across Europe since October 2011, and now the video is finally here.

With her flashy and flamboyant outfits, Aura Dione is quickly being thought of as Europe's answer to Lady Gaga. Also like Gaga, Aura Dione is becoming known her ever-changing hair styles and bizarre stage performances. And if you think the young Dane's song "Geronimo" sounds similar to music from Lady Gaga, you wouldn't be too far off: Aura is working with some of the same producers!

The music video for "Geronimo" exactly matches the song's message about courage, freedom, and love. At the start of the video, we see a very chic Aura Dione in a vintage car, cruising casually through the city after finishing a shopping trip. But there's a problem: Aura's world is grey. She is unfulfilled, and bored with her life. She feels trapped by society and wants to get out! As she starts disposing of all her luxury goods, her designer handbags and her fine clothes, her dull and boring world begins to fill with color. As she disposes of the expectations society places on her, she sees the world like never before and becomes a brand new woman. Finally free of her worldly desires, Aura wants to get back in touch with nature, and to get back in touch with her roots as a human being, so she dons a Native American headdress and a sexy transparent chiffon dress, and then has a little frolic in a field.

Aura's stylists should be commended, because they have done a really good job, and this video once again proves that Aura is a style chameleon. Whether in a mini dress with animal print accessories, or wearing a huge Indian headdress, the dark-haired beauty can easily carry it all.

For those who are now curious, here is the video for "Geronimo".

katy perry's dad hates jews too

KATY Perry's preacher father has launched a shocking attack on Jews in a church sermon.
comment on this story 31 comments

Keith Hudson told hundreds of worshippers: "You know how to make the Jew jealous? Have some money, honey.

"You go to LA and they own all the Rolex and diamond places. Walk down a part of LA where we live and it is so rich it smells. You ever smell rich? They are all Jews, hallelujah. Amen."

His sick blast came in a sermon where he also spoke about pop singer Katy, 27.

He said: "People say 'How is it you have a daughter raised in the church and she sang 'I kissed a girl and liked it'? I say 'I don't know'."

Keith and wife Mary, both 63, gave their first services at Church on the Rise in Westlake, Ohio, since Katy and Russell Brand, 36, announced their divorce.

Later there was a collection for the Hudsons.

Keith added: "We live by the Gospel, not off anyone else, even though you may say 'You are the parents of Katy Perry, you must be rich.' No, she is, I am not, hallelujah."

90's Cartoons we want back on TV...and yes this COUNTS as a Nostalgia post

The 1990s saw the rise of Nickelodeon and with it, the rise of some really strange, really awesome cartoons. And that was just one channel. MTV were trying out their Liquid Television programming while Cartoon Network laid the foundation for what would later become Adult Swim. Meanwhile, network television was trying some impressive stuff out as well. It wasn't the 1980s golden age of kids cartoons, but it was certainly a time of high innovation and fun. With the return of 90s staple Beavis and Butthead, here are our picks for 1990s cartoons we want back on television.

Calvin Harris to work with Kelendria Trene Rowlegend

Whatever he did to get the featuring credit on “We Found Love,” it was probably the best move of the Scottish DJ’s career—now everyone knows who produced the eight-week chart-topper hit, and he’s certainly bound to be among the most in-demand collaborators of 2012. First up is Kelly Rowland, who has worked out a nice little niche for herself as a disco diva on hit club tracks like David Guetta’s “When Love Takes Over” and Alex Gaudino’s “What a Feeling.” Kelly recently confirmed that she was entering the studio with Harris to work on new material, it's not clear if it will be for her unannounced 4th album, or for Calvin’s long-overdue untitled 3rd effort.

Either way, we’re glad to hear about the high-powered collabo, which seems like too natural a pairing to possibly miss the mark. After the excellent 2011′s that both artists had, it should serve as a nice victory lap moment for each—and an absolute shoo-in to top the US Dance charts within seconds of the master tapes being released. source

Watch edited first episode of House of Lies

Showtime has posted the edited first episode of House of Lies. There are no bare asses or tits, but you can still watch the show. Don Cheadle is Martin Kaan, the management consultant, and his team is the Type A smart cookie Jeannie (Kristen Bell), the funny guy (Ben Schwartz), and the dry and neurotic Harvard man (Josh Lawson). Rounding out the cast is Glynn Turman as his dad, Dawn Oliveri as his ex-wife and competition, and Donis Leonard Jr., as the sassy son (the cliché that I'm already sick of in this decade).

In the first episode they have to rehabilitate the image of MetroCapital, a financial institution/mortgage broker that still wants their bonuses despite everyone hating them. Also starting Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) and Anna Camp (True Blood, Mad Men) in their usual roles as a smarmy yuppie and good girl with a secret, respectively. Poor Megalyn Echikunwoke (90210 remake, CSI: Miami) is basically the woman Marty fucks this episode. Like I said, no tits and ass, and the cuss words are cut, so one conversation is mostly guesswork.

Racialicious has a good review that basically nailed it when they said Marty needed to be less Don Draper and more Malcolm Tucker.

Martin Freeman on Graham Norton, wants another Sherlock series

Martin Freeman has revealed that he is keen to star in a third series of Sherlock.

The actor took a break from playing Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit to shoot the second series of the BBC detective drama earlier this year.

Freeman told talkshow host Graham Norton: "The hope is that we will make a third series. There is certainly more to do and I would like to do it. It's a very nice way to spend your time."

He also admitted to being "really very pleased" with the reaction to the first series of Sherlock, which aired on BBC One in mid-2010.

"It's amazing and very flattering," he said. "We are aware of the pressure of having a standard to maintain, but we have such a ball doing it, that it didn't really feel like pressure, but a really joyous way to spend a few months."

Freeman's co-star Benedict Cumberbatch recently hinted that making a third series of Sherlock could prove difficult following the conclusion of the second series finale.

"You might see that it's quite hard for me to make it back, after the end of the last episode," he teased.

Cumberbatch has also dismissed criticism of raunchy scenes featured in the show's second series premiere.

Beyoncé at Hospital to Give Birth...for real (the Golden Child is near)

Well, now we know the bump wasn’t fake: pop star Beyoncé checked into a hospital on New York’s Upper East Side on Saturday night to give birth to her first child. Beyoncé and her husband, the rapper Jay-Z, reportedly rented out an entire floor of Lenox Hill hospital for $1.4 million, and checked her in under the name “Ingrid Jackson.” The hospital taped over its security cameras to help keep images of the baby from leaking out. Several security guards were seen prowling outside Saturday night, and staff confirmed that the singer has gone into what they called a “labor room.”

A Lenox Hill staffer confirmed that a patient named Ingrid Jackson was in a “labor room.”

Reps for the power couple did not return requests for comment.

The 30-year-old singer was last seen Thursday when she was photographed leaving a Manhattan apartment building wearing hip-hugging jeans, gold heels and a patterned scarf masking her belly.

She and Jay-Z reportedly celebrated New Year’s Eve in Brooklyn, dining at Buttermilk Channel, a restaurant in Carroll Gardens.

Internet rumors ran wild last month that Beyonce had already given birth.

But Beyonce’s sister put them to rest in a New Year’s Eve tweet.

“Shout out to my sister for being THE cutest pregnant woman ever,” Solange Knowles tweeted.

Beyonce announced her pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards in August. The baby, whose gender is still unknown, will be the first for hip-hop’s leading couple.

You've followed 2008's Hunger with the searing drama Shame, which stars Michael Fassbender as a sex addict living in New York. Is being in film still exciting?

I've seen behind the curtain. It's a bit Wizard of Oz-like. I admit I was excited about Cannes when Hunger launched there and then that was a success and I went to Hollywood for the first time and, my God, I was thrilled, you know, seeing the big letters: HOLLYWOOD. But after a few dinners with people and drinks parties, you realise it's all about rolling up your sleeves. I got on the Paramount lot for the first time and, yes, I saw gladiators walking by and elephants and then you see the scaffolding and the trucks and it is all just work.

Why was Brad Pitt walking with a cane on the red carpet of the 23rd Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Awards Gala?

"I was carrying my daughter and I tripped and fell," he told The Hollywood Reporter on the carpet. "But everyone's fine."

Angelina Jolie, in a cafe latte colored silk chiffon pleated Elie Saab halter gown, was doing interviews on her own and added, "Everyone's fine. I think all parents get injured in the line of fire! When Maddox was young, I fell and hurt my elbow. It's a pretty common occurrence."

But don’t expect Pitt’s injury to slow down these busy parents down. They will be celebrating Zahara’s seventh birthday this Sunday.

Pitt is being honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Actor Award at the Film Festival for his work inMoneyball and Tree of Life. The star-studded event, which runs Jan. 5-16, will also honor Pitt’s Tree of Life co-star Jessica Chastain with the Spotlight Award.
