Suits' Creator Talks Season 2 and Trevor's Behavior

It will be a long wait for Suits fans for any type of closure to what went down behind closed doors between Pearson Hartman boss Jessica (Gina Torres) and Mike’s (Patrick J. Adams) former best friend Trevor (Tom Lipinski). Not only is Mike’s career on the line, but top Manhattan attorney Harvey’s (Gabriel Macht) too. Viewers won’t know if Trevor ratted his buddy out until next year, but at the moment, not even creator and newly-minted showrunner Aaron Korsh is 100 percent sure.

Korsh spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about where he sees next season going, new characters joining the mix and the real truth about Harvey’s hair.

An Interview with Madonna – “I could cook if you put a gun to my head”

The Daily Mail confirmed that Madonna’s “W.E.” received a ten-minute standing ovation following its world premiere in Venice, but by then the film had sharply divided film writers. According to the publication, some critics gleefully tore it apart; others, like Baz Bamigboye – Columnist Archive for the Daily Mail – found much to praise.

Madonna gave an interview to Bamigboye wearing a stunning “Dolce & Gabbana” little black dress — waving a black silk fan.

“This project is exciting to me because it brings together three very passionate audiences: the Parkinson’s community, the sneakerheads and Back to the Future fans.” – Michael J. Fox.

A few moments ago, Nike officially unveiled the Nike Air Mag AKA “Marty McFly” shoe. As stated earlier, Nike announced that 1500 pairs of this shoe will be auctioned on eBay,, with all net proceeds going directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The auction will begin tonight at 8:30PM PST and end on September 18 (150 pairs will be posted on eBay per day for 10 days). The Nike Air Mag has been anticipated for the longest as it first showed its face in the 1989 2015 released film Back to the Future.

Leading up to the release of the Nike Air Mag, a 50 million match grant was given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation by Sergey Brin and Anne Wojcicki; they will match all donations to the foundation, up to 50 million dollars, through the end of 2012.

Skylar Grey “Invisible” Music Video

After teasing her “Invisible” video with a handful of stills, Skylar Grey unveiled the dramatic Jay Martin-directed clip today. In it she steps onto a steel beam suspended over a city street, walks into traffic and then ultimately sets herself ablaze with a lighter. This isn’t your usual feel-good video.

"I wanted it to be Peter Parker by day meets Spiderman by night. An everyday kid, who isn’t really that cool but there’s something else going on, that people don’t know about,” Skylar said in a statement while explaining “Invisible,” which she wrote while living in the Oregon wilderness. “That’s kind of the journey that I went on. I discovered that my insecurities and my flaws were things that I actually need to embrace, and I let them become my superpowers.”

Bench warrant issued for 'Real Housewive of O.C.' Gretchen Rossi

A bench warrant for the arrest of The Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi was ordered by a judge on Thursday, has exclusively learned.

Rossi and her ex-boyfriend Jay Photoglou have been locked in a nasty legal battle and when she failed to make a court appearance on Thursday, a judge issued the warrant for her arrest and set her bail at $2,500, according to court documents obtained by

The judge gave Gretchen a break, and continued the warrant until September 15, meaning she has until that date to appear in court, and she will not be arrested.

The blonde bombshell reality TV star was in Las Vegas on Thursday for a promotional event.

She and Photoglou are suing each other for libel, defamation and slander. He filed a notice with the court detailing proof that Gretchen was served with the papers notifying her of the appearance, and has exclusively obtained those documents.

A process server declared that he tracked down Gretchen and her boyfriend Slade Smiley to a Palm Springs hotel to serve her with the papers, and he videotaped the successful encounter.

The documents state that when the process server served the documents to Gretchen she said “Can you believe these f**king people?” which they recorded on the video.

This is a Michael C. Hall post!

Exclusive: "Dexter" star Michael C. Hall is in negotiations for a new pact to continue on Showtime's top-rated drama series.

Hall has been in talks with Showtime to renew his deal for several months, as his previous contract expires after the show's upcoming sixth season, which bows Oct. 2.

"Dexter" is a vital property for the CBS-owned pay cabler, which owns the show. It pulls in higher ratings than any other series and has been a strong draw in international markets.

It's unclear how many more seasons the two sides are considering under the new pact or whether the length of the term is a sticking point. Hall is said to be looking for a significant salary bump as well after working under his original contract for the past six seasons.

Thesp is believed to have started out in 2006 at a per-episode salary in the high five-figure range, though his paycheck has likely swelled since then. After the second season, Hall was named a co-exec producer on the show, and he was upped to exec producer rank in season four. Once an exec producer, Hall was entitled to share in ancillary income from the show, including DVD sales, merchandising and foreign distribution.

Hall, a Golden Globe winner and four-time Emmy nominee for his role as a conflicted serial killer, brings serious leverage to the table. It would be difficult for the pay cabler to continue the series without him.

Salaries for cable TV stars have been rising in recent years. "Mad Men" topper Jon Hamm set a high bar in June by inking a megabucks new deal with AMC and Lionsgate TV valued at $10 million over three seasons.

Showtime and Hall's reps at WME declined to comment.

Model Karlie Kloss: Inside Her Life

The Many Faces of Karlie Kloss
Karlie Kloss reflected in a mirror backstage at Jean Paul Gaultier's couture show in Paris, photographed by Gabrielle Revere on July 6, 2011
If you don't know her name, chances are you've seen her face: in glossy ads for Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs and Victoria's Secret; in luscious spreads of American Vogue (and on the cover of its little sister Teen Vogue); in TV highlight reels about the hottest shows at Fashion Week; in (untrue) blog reports that she's dating Joe Jonas. But who is the real Karlie Kloss, this young woman leading such a glamorous life? Yes, she is a 19-year-old fashion star who has already worked all over the world, landed the most coveted fashion campaigns and magazine spreads, and traveled in A-list circles -- yet still she sweetly brings homemade cookies to the crew at photo shoots, still goes home to her family whenever she can, still worried whether she looked all right in her prom dress.

For this special Fashion Week feature, sent photographer Gabrielle Revere to the couture shows in Paris, to Kloss' childhood home in St. Louis, and around New York City to capture the story of a model just graduated from high school and now free to fully embrace a career of seemingly endless possibility. It is that story -- and, of course, her fascinatingly chameleonic face -- that makes Karlie Kloss a classic LIFE cover girl.

'Toddlers' 'Pretty Woman' outfit to be auctioned

Wendy Dickey, the mother of Paisley, who wore the now-famous "Pretty Woman" prostitute costume during the Queen of Hearts pageant, tells E! News exclusively that the outfit has caused such a stir that she wants to sell the getup and donate the proceeds to charity.

And her charity choice?

That would be Georgia Right to Life, an anti-abortion organization Dickey refers to as "Paisley's charity" and says the young beauty queen has represented. GRTL states their mission as "Protecting innocent life from fertilization until natural death."

The costume has been the ire of many parents across the nation, claiming it was inappropriate for a 3-year-old to be dressed as a hooker (ya think?!).

So how did mommy dearest come up with the getup in the first place? "We learned there was a Celebrity Wear competition, so I thought of my favorite actress ever, Julia Roberts. I was trying to figure out which characters she could be, so I wanted Pretty Woman. Nothing too revealing, but hysterically funny!" Dickey said.

While the costume itself doesn't seem to be comedic, it was only one part of an act.

"TLC edited out the second part of the routine. We did a quick change into the polka-dot dress of the reformed Julia Roberts, a before and
after," Dickey said. "Everyone in the room was laughing hysterically. It was meant to be funny, not sexual at all. I made the dress myself! It  barely went above the knee, very nonrevealing and nonsexy."

Well, the judges apparently agreed with Dickey, as Paisley ended up winning first place.

"The idea isn't to make a 3-year-old sexy. It was meant to be funny, hysterical and completely overboard!" Dickey said.

Dickey said only one mom didn't think it was funny, and that just happened to be the mom TLC was taping for the episode.

"The one mom who was being followed by TLC, she voiced her [negative] opinion, and that just added fuel to the fire," Dickey said. "Everyone else that was there was congratulating me and saying, 'Paisley is so going to win!' and telling me it was the funniest thing ever."

So is Dickey angry about the way TLC edited the routine?

"I'm not upset, but I do wish they had shown the second part of the outfit, and I don't think we'd be having this conversation," she said.

Now it's time to plan Paisley's next costume. What's it going to be?

"She's going dress up as an angel!"

Cougar Town's name will definitely be changed soon + spoilers about Laurie/Travis

Cougar Town cocreator Bill Lawrence has news for fans of the ABC comedy: “Those that loved the title…. [It's] not around for much longer.”

Lawrence floated that likelihood on Twitter Thursday night, reigniting a dialogue that has dogged the show since Episode 1.

More pragmatically, Lawrence says that ABC research shows there are a “high number of men that will NEVER sample show called [Cougar Town], even those that liked it once they screened an epsiode.” Also problematic is the “incredibly high rate of fans who will not/or can’t get friends to watch due to the title.”

These days, Lawrence seems to be entertaining Sunshine State (previously off-the-table, because Mr. Sunshine aired on ABC), Friends With Beverages and The Drinking Age as possible titles

I like Sunshine State, The Drinking Age, and as a lot of people have suggested, The Cul de Sac Crew. Or, how about Penny Can?

Rolling Stone: The Best Songs of the Summer

It may not officially be fall until September 23rd, but by our count, summer is over. Somehow we survived it all and now can look back with instant nostalgia.

Sharlto Copley exploded onto the scene a couple years ago when Neill Blomkamp put him in the lead role of District 9 and let him ad-lib his way through his brilliant performance. Since then he’s co-starred in The A-Team and is working with Blomkamp on his next deep space project, Elysium.

According to Deadline, Copley recently added another space movie to his upcoming slate in the form of Europa, named for Jupiter’s fourth moon, which will be visited in the film by Copley and a crew of five other astronauts. The astronauts come from various backgrounds and space stations, so obviously this will cause some tension on board the craft, but the extent of their troubles will probably not stop there.

The moon Europa is covered in a smooth surface of relatively new ice under which astronomers believe lies an ocean of water. Following the idea “where there’s water there’s life”, not only do current scientists believe that there is life in the depths of Europa’s frozen ocean, but creating a film based around the moon will give the writers a lot of freedom to create some nasty beasts for our heroes to encounter. Though the exact description of the story is limited to just that it’s about Europa, the whole sci-fi monster stuff is just speculation. But if you were ever going to make a scary movie about space, Europa has the opportunity to make it very real.

Wayfare Entertainment and Misher Films are hard at work getting the script 100% so that they can shop around for a distributor at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival which kicks off today. The team shouldn’t have any trouble finding help getting Europa out to the masses as Copley is a big enough name to create interest, and the story alone is very intriguing, keeping the science very grounded in reality. More on Europa as it moves through the festival.

Jenelle Evans will not go to jail for beating the crap out of another woman back in March -- unless she messes up again sometime in the next 12 months.

Evans had been charged with simple affray -- and today she was sentenced to 30 days suspended jail time and 12 months probation .... which means she'll stay out of the slammer if she can stay clean.

Evans was also ordered to pay a $100 fine, take anger management courses, perform 24 hours of community service -- and she's not allowed to have any contact with any of the people who were present at the fight.

As for the other woman in the beatdown, Britany Truett -- she received the same sentence.

Jenelle's attorney tells us, "It came out that it wasn’t Janelle being the aggressor and Ms. Truett as the victim. It was presented as a bad decision on everybody’s part and I don’t think there was a single victim in the case.”

Ali Lohan's publicist slams plastic surgery rumors; claims "Ali is growing up, that's all."

Lindsay Lohan's younger sister, Ali, wants to set the record straight about pictures that show her looking skinnier than ever and with what some see as a remarkably different face. Ali has recently signed a modeling contract with Next Model Management.

In an exclusive statement to, Ali's powerhouse publicist, Steve Honig says: "Aliana has never had any type of plastic surgery in her life, nor has she ever considered it. Her success as a model lies with her natural looks and she has no interest in changing that."

“During the past two years, she has gone through a normal teenage growth spurt that has made her taller and slimmer. It has also slightly changed the composure of her face, all of which is typical of what happens to kids in their mid to late teens. It’s what most people refer to as the awkward stage. Ali is growing up, that’s all."

Ali's modeling agency told "Contrary to recent reports, I can confirm that Aliana Lohan has not had any surgery.

“As a young girl who is growing up, it's natural for her facial features to change slightly, and we see this with many of the younger models we represent. Aliana is a beautiful 17-year-old girl who is growing into her face and body, as is the norm for someone of her age.

“We take pastoral care of our models very seriously and encourage the models to maintain a healthy lifestyle and body shape."

Why Is Television Losing Women Writers? Veteran Producers Weigh In

As the fall TV season approaches, it's worth taking a closer look at the people who have created and written
the scripted fare you'll see.

In the 2006-2007 television season, 35 percent of the writers of broadcast network, prime-time programs were women, according to an annual study by San Diego State University's Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film. In the 2010-2011 season, that number had dropped by more than half, to 15 percent. What happened?

Since the latest edition of the annual SDSU study came out two weeks ago, I've posed that question to a dozen experienced television writers and creators, female and male alike. Most of these professionals, who've worked on everything from 'Battlestar Galactica' to 'Sons of Anarchy' to 'Pushing Daisies' to 'Chuck,' were alarmed by the numbers that the Center released.

Gervais plans live Golden Globes podcast

Ricky Gervais is planning to provide a three-hour live podcast, commenting on the Golden Globes.

The comic, who caused a media storm earlier this year when he jokingly insulted Hollywood bigwigs while hosting the awards, says he could provide alternative, uncensored comments to the next ceremony.

Suggesting the idea on his blog, he said that friends such as Louis CK, Chris Rock, Karl Pilkington, John Stewart and Larry David could pop in during the podcast.

He wrote: ‘People at home can have the telly on with the sound down listening to us online say things that no broadcaster could get away with. No one could do a fucking thing.

‘The biggest live webcast ever? Who knows? Who cares? What's fun is the shit we might come out with. No money. No sponsor. No guidelines. Fuck me I can't wait.

Later he said he had an ‘amazing response’ to his idea with ‘offers of sponsorship, technical support and a bunch of comedians up for it’.

He added: ‘I don't want people to think that this is some sort of anti-establishment stunt. It's not. Any more than deciding to do a podcast in 2005 was. It's about new horizons, new technologies and artistic freedom.

‘If I actually do it, it will show people how tame my official hosting was last year. I still can't quite understand how anyone would think I overstepped the mark, was cruel, or pushed any boundaries of taste and decency. It was a network friendly gentle ribbing of the industry.

‘Anyway. I'm looking into it. Might not happen. I might not even be available. Who knows, I might be at The Golden Globes (awkward silence).’

This is a Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl post

Diverse Web series grows through social media
By STACY A. ANDERSON , 09.09.11, 10:46 AM EDT

WASHINGTON -- After growing tired of watching stereotypes of people of color on the screen, Issa Rae created her own vision of reality with "The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl."

The Web-based show follows J, played by Rae, and her mishaps and successes in work and love.

"The Web series came about because I really didn't see anybody like me on the screen, nobody that I could relate to," said Rae, the show's producer, writer and director. "There's are just so many limited archetypes for black females in particular, and just people of color in general, and it's frustrating to look at the screen and only be able to relate to people like Tina Fey or Amy Poehler, people who don't look like me."

Time for a beautiful Kat Dennings/2 Broke Girls post!

Kat in Nylon Magazine:

Kat Dennings x nylon
Our cover girl talks about her new TV show!(I don't know why they say "our cover girl" it's actually Christina Ricci on the cover, lol.)
This Fall, Kat Dennings returns to TV in the Michael Patrick King comedy, Two Broke Girls. Read her interview here, then check out more quotes and photos in the September issue of NYLON, on stands now.

Your show takes place in Brooklyn, but you film in LA. What’s that like?
The studio we were filming at has “fake New York” sets, and they look so real. It’s really creepy. When you watch it, it really feels like they’re in New York… And that’s actually a Michael Patrick King thing. He can really infuse [the show] with New York spirit. And this is a very different New York than Sex and the City.

Yeah. Not as glamorous
No. This is Brooklyn… I’m familiar with the whole Williamsburg scene, and I think it’s depicted pretty well… But Zach’s Diner looks so much like the Double R Diner from Twin Peaks.

Oh my god! I just started watching that.
It’s so good!.. Season 2 starts to wane for me a bit, because I can feel Lynch stepping away. I can feel him being like ‘fuck it’. Because Season One is all Lynch, then Season Two is a little bit of Lynch. It feels different. But it was too much for me, because I had a viewing marathon. I spent like three days just [watching] Twin Peaks. I saw no one, did nothing except watch Twin Peaks. I slept on my couch because I was too scared. It was insane.

Oh Babs D:

There's a chance you've seen a particularly bizarre clip floating around on the Internet...

First posted by, it's a grainy outtake from the 1984 classic "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," in which Barbra Streisand, Carrie Fisher and "Empire Strikes Back" director Irvin Kershner surprise Harrison Ford with a practical joke.

Only rumored to exist in "Indiana Jones" director Steven Spielberg's private library until now, the clip shows a barely discernible Streisand in leather dominatrix gear, whipping Ford and berating him "for all the money you're going to make on 'Return of the Jedi.'"

Her getup just adds to the snuff film atmosphere created by the blurry footage -- which makes it only slightly awkward until Streisand ends the video by clearly announcing, "I feel like a faggot..."

Video here, can't embed

Here's a rough transcription of what they're saying during the clip if you had trouble following along:

People are lapping me. My best friend just told me she’s pregnant, and of course I’m ecstatic, but I’m also like, Uhhh! [gestures stabbing herself]. Like, I want my kid to be playing with your kids! It’s just a nightmare."

On whether she tried having a child naturally:
"Turns out I had PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). But at a young age, I didn’t know if I wanted kids, so I didn’t really care. Then I got older, and I watched friends go through IVF, with years of hormones and devastation and disappointment, and I remember thinking God wants something different for me. If I choose to pursue this path, I’ll adopt. And when I was finally ready to go for it, I thought, This is going to be so easy. I am such an a—hole. I had nooo idea. I mean you’re just waiting…If it’s not done by this November, I’m going to take my shot with foster care."

Yoko Ono Exhibit Opens at University

A traveling display of artwork by Yoko Ono opened at Stony Brook's University Art Gallery on Tuesday, preceded by a presentation that gave the history of Ono's work for peace, including her worldwide "War is Over If You Want It" campaign with husband and former Beatle John Lennon.

Curator Kevin Concannon, a professor of art history and the director of the school of visual arts at Virginia Tech, gave an hour-long lecture to introduce the exhibit. Images and footage of Ono and Lennon and their efforts to spread the message of peace were shown as Concannon narrated a timeline of the couple's campaign before Lennon's death in 1980.

“I’m interested in Yoko as an artist,” said Concannon. “This was a convergence of pop culture, art and pop music that exploited the media in what was really an unprecedented way.”

Both the lecture and the exhibit included pictures and recordings of Ono and Lennon during their “War is Over” campaign, which Ono continued years after Lennon’s death under the catchphrase “Imagine Peace.” The message, conveyed by simple words placed on billboards or in other prominent places, was meant to encourage others to take up the cause and create their own “installations” of it.

Concannon’s lecture provided background for Ono’s modern “Imagine Peace” campaign, giving the history and noting the determination with which Ono and Lennon went about their political activities despite being targeted for deportation by the Nixon administration, according to Concannon. In one segment of the lecture, a video of graphic scenes of human suffering in war zones from the past four decades was shown as Lennon and Oko's popular Christmas ballad “Happy Christmas (War is Over).” Many of the images were of injured children or small bodies being buried.

The exhibit will remain open at the university until October 15, when Lennon’s son, Sean, and Charlotte Kemp Muhl will perform there as the group The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Tickets are available for $34 at the Staller Center for the Arts.

Admission to the gallery is free, with viewing hours between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday evenings.

Kelly: No

Destiny's Child(ren): Where are they now!?

Kelly Rowlegend: She’s yet to ascend to A-list status, but Rowland is, indeed, a star in her own right. Her debut solo disc, 2002’s Simply Deep, boasted the massive hit Dilemma with rapper Nelly. She followed up with 2007’s Ms. Kelly and this year’s Here I Am, which spawned R&B chart-topper Motivation. Rowland has also become a bit of a dance diva, filling floors with the anthemic When Love Takes Over and Commander, collaborations with David Guetta. She’s also tried her hand at acting in the films Freddy vs. Jason (2003) and The Seat Filler (2004) and is currently a judge on the U.K. version of The X Factor.

Michelle Williams: Gospel was Williams’ first calling as a solo act, which resulted in the albums Heart to Yours (2002) and Do You Know (2004). But she eventually turned to more adventurous ventures. Williams is the first and only member of Destiny’s Child to tackle Broadway, popping up in title roles in the musicals Aida and Chicago, which also took her to London’s West End. She also toured with The Color Purple and competed on Strictly Come Dancing, the British version of Dancing With The Stars. Williams’ 2008 album, Unexpected, spawned a pair of big club hits, and a new collection of inspirational pop and dance is due this winter.

LeToya Luckett: “The H-Town Chick” was featured on two DC albums before getting the boot. (The last was 1999’s eerily titled The Writing’s on the Wall.) Luckett and LaTavia Roberson tried to oust Mathew Knowles as their manager, which in turn resulted in their own unceremonious exits. (Don’t mess with papa.) They were replaced by Williams and, briefly, Farrah Franklin. The ex-members filed lawsuits against Knowles and DC. Insults and accusations followed. (A settlement was eventually reached.) Luckett and Roberson formed the group Anjel, but it went nowhere. Luckett’s solo work has been more warmly received. Her solo debut, LeToya, topped the Billboard 200 in 2006 and was certified platinum on the strength of hit single Torn. A second album, Lady Love, followed in 2009. Luckett starred in the films Preacher’s Kid and Killers, and she has a recurring role on the HBO series Treme. She’s currently working on a third solo album and is in the upcoming film From the Rough with Taraji P. Henson and Michael Clark Duncan. And, of course, Luckett owns the successful Lady L boutiques in Uptown Park and the Galleria.

Hearts In Toronto Are Breaking

Although he has two of the most-anticipated titles in Toronto, super-hot actor Michael Fassbender is no longer coming to town to promote Shame, his sexually charged reunion with Hunger director Steve McQueen, or A Dangerous Method, in which he plays pioneer shrink Carl Jung.

Publicists behind the films would not say why, only that circumstances prevented him from being here.

The sound you just heard was thousands of female festgoers weeping and reaching for their DVD of Jane EyreFishTank.

Reba McEntire potentially returning to TV!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

ABC is going country with Reba McEntire.

McEntire is attached to executive produce and star in Malibu Country, which has been sold as a put pilot at the Disney-owned network.

The multi-camera comedy project, from ABC Studios, centers on Reba, who divorces her cheating husband and moves her family from Nashville to Malibu. There she'll try to reignite her own singing career and keep herself and three kids from being corrupted by the materialistic and rarified Malibu world she now calls home.

Sounds like Reba, except in California and with a different job instead of living in Texas... Love her, so may check it out if it gets picked up, though.

What kind of music we want from Jessica Simpson's next album

Four million people, give or take some attention, got a tweet gauntlet today from lapsed pop star Jessica Simpson:

“What kind of music would y’all want from me on my next album? Thinking about going back to the studio”

You have to wonder whether she’ll even recognize the place. Simpson’s last proper album was in 2008, an attempted country crossover. Two years before was A Public Affair, best known for its title track emulating Madonna; two years later was a Christmas album that was a) bizarrely, almost entirely produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart; b)not as good as a) would imply; c) not exactly classic. Her fashion line appears before her personal site in a Google search.

Things weren’t always like this. A decade ago, Jessica Simpson was one-fourth of the pantheon of pop princesses that also included Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Mandy Moore, and while she was always solidly #3 or #4 in the royal succession, you never expected the quality of her music would drop so far so fast. Granted, Simpson’s musical persona was based on the era’s not-that-innocent teasing, a phase that’s mostly passed.

What’s stopping Simpson from a comeback, anyway? Othershave bounced back from tabloid snarking, terrible albums and settledmarriages. And the 2010s have been surprisingly friendly to 2000s stars. Justin Timberlake, Eminem and Beyonce still make hits and headlines. Of
Simpson’s direct peers, Britney and Christina do; if Mandy doesn’t, it’s as much a conscious choice than anything. While we’d love to joke about Simpson’s possible ventures (House? Chillwave? Tejano?), we doubt she’ll listen to any of that. So instead, on the off-chance that a member of Jessica Simpson’s team is reading this post, here are three plausible musical directions, based on the career trajectories of her former royal court.

Blake Shelton Post featuring Xenia

Blake Shelton Pictures, Images and Photos
"The Voice" coach puts a country spin on Kenny Loggins’ original for the upcoming film remake.
When the Paramount Pictures remake of the 1984 classic Footloose hits theaters, it will feature a few updates from the original soundtrack, including an upbeat country version of Kenny Loggins’ title track.

Blake Shelton’s “Footloose” cover hit the web on Tuesday, Sept. 6, giving the iconic tune only a minor facelift.

“It’s like a lot of stuff from that era – it was rock at the time, but is pretty much what we hear on country radio today. So I knew that we didn’t have to stray that far away from the original,” Shelton told The Boot. “There are two ways to bring back a song: one is to try to make it your own, and in this instance, you have to remove yourself from it and step into the role of what’s best for the movie and that particular scene. There’s only one way to approach it when you think of it that way: a fun, uptempo, catchy version just like Kenny Loggins did.”

Also featured on the Atlantic Records and Warner Music Nashville soundtrack are Zac Brown, Jana Kramer, Lissie, Cee Lo Green, Victoria Justice and Hunter Hayes, among others. Mysteriously absent from the lineup is country singer Julianne Hough, who landed the starring role of Ariel Moore in the film.

“I think they did the right thing by finding the artists who fit that movie, too – and not just country artists, Cee Lo is on there, too,” Shelton said of the overall soundtrack. “To do those songs justice, you have to find the right artist for the movie. That’s probably why they went with a lot of country artists. The movie is based in a small town full of country people.”

Shelton may have proven to be a fitting artist for the title track, but landing the gig was no easy task.

“[The producers] had envisioned a female cutting [“Footloose”] this time around,” he admitted. “So they threw out ideas for some other songs for me, but I finally just campaigned enough and whined about it enough that they said, ‘Why don’t you cut it, and just let them hear your version?’ So I cut it, gave it to them and they wanted to go with mine. I really lucked out.”

It was also announced on Tuesday that Shelton scored a Country Music Association nomination in the Entertainer of the Year category, where he will face off against Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and Jason Aldean. Listen to his version of "Footloose" below  under the cut.

Cobain/Vedder slow danced at VMA's, shown on Jimmy Fallon show

Filmmaker Cameron Crowe unveiled what he called "the Holy Grail" of the Seattle, Washington grunge scene movement of the early 1990s when he screened footage of Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder dancing with Kurt Cobain on late-night TV in America on Thursday (08Sep11).

The Almost Famous director was promoting his new Pearl Jam documentary on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon show and he treated fans to a sneak peek of one of the most important pieces of the film after the host asked him if it was true that Vedder and Nirvana frontman Cobain didn't get along.

The moviemaker told Fallon, "This piece of film is really kind of the Holy Grail; this was a piece of film that we weren't even sure existed.

"Nirvana and Pearl Jam had a little bit of a controversy; I think it was trumped up in the press quite a bit; it was kind of, like, a high school thing... and really I think the musicians all knew each other. But Kurt and Eddie Vedder had a little bit of a back and forth thing going on in the press.

"They also were friends on the side and there was this mythical piece of footage that happened while Eric Clapton is playing Tears in Heaven at the VMAs (Mtv Video Music Awards) and Kurt and Eddie have a moment below the stage, where they slow dance... and it's a beautiful moment.

"There's an amazing look on Eddie's face as the shot is ending, and you see Eddie, he looks like he's a teenager - he's so happy that he's shared this moment with Kurt Cobain away from the glare of the media."

The show climaxed with Pearl Jam, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary, performing new song Ole for the first time.

Crowe's film, Pearl Jam Twenty - which also features footage of the band's first rehearsal six days after Vedder became their singer - is released on Tuesday (13Sep11)

Rapper Aggro Santos charged with raping two women

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star (that is to say, a nobody) Aggro Santos has been charged with two separate offences of rape.

The rapper, real name Yuri Santos, appeared on the most recent series of ITV's jungle-based reality show. Santos went on to finish sixth in the competition. Flopping in both music and reality TV.

One of the charges dates back to accusations made against Santos and another man in May. Two women, ages 17 and 18, said that they were sexually assaulted in a Chichester hotel.

"The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Sussex Police to charge a man in relation to two separate investigations of rape in Somerset and Sussex and a second man in relation to the offence in Sussex," Sussex Police said this afternoon.

"Yuri Santos, 22, of Bickersteth Road, London, has been charged with two offences of rape; one in Chichester on 7 May, 2011, and another in Yeovil between 25-26 September last year."

The second male, Tyrelle Ritchie of London, has been charged with one offence of rape relating to the May incident in Chichester.

Both Santos and Ritchie have been bailed to appear before Chichester Magistrates Court on September 19.

Santos reached number eight in the UK charts with 'Like U Like', which featured Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh. [source]

Leighton Meester on Acting vs. Singing, Taylor Momsen, etc.

Leighton Meester admires her former Gossip Girl costar Taylor Momsen's career, but she could never quit acting for singing like her castmate did.

"Both is where it's at," Leighton told me after her performance at Tiffany's last night for Fashion's Night Out. "If I had to choose, I think I'd be very unhappy."

But it's clear Leighton is a big fan of Taylor's music and acting skills...

"She's so talented, and anyone I know that's heard her music is a huge fan," she shared. "You can't help it. She's also an incredible actress and just a lovely girl."

Leighton took the stage last night to a packed house at the Tiffany's store on 5th Avenue, where she performed an acoustic set of new material and even played guitar.

The aspiring musician says she writes song about things and people near and dear to her.

"I'm inspired by my friends, my family, love, loss of love, fashion, art, traveling, sex, food...everything!" she told me, adding she wants to continue playing shows but is unsure when her actual album will be out. Collapse )

Rapper/White Girl Mobster Kreayshawn tweeted her apologies to fans approximately an hour before her Roosevelt Room show was set to begin in Toronto, citing trouble with Canadian Border officials for her shows cancellation

Kreayshawn also released the following statement:

" T-Dot! I have bad news. I'm sorry to say but my show tonight has been canceled. Ran into some documentation problems at the border. Your taxes hard at work! Jokes!

But srsly, I was looking forward to seeing you and soaking in the sites of your beautiful city. We will meet again someday soon. Thx for all your support, it means the world to me.

If you bought your tix from my site you have been emailed directions on how to get a refund.

HOWEVER, the event's publicist, Jennifer Love of Duet Public Relations, released a contradictory statement:

"Hey guys – unfortunately we have some bad news and I’m going to give it to you straight. Kreayshawn arrived in Toronto last night without any of her crew as her management could not cross the border. She checked into her Toronto hotel and all seemed fine, however, we got word this morning that she checked out of her hotel at 4AM and got on a plane to NY without an explanation.
The Roosevelt Room has done everything possible to try to get her back for her show tonight, but she refuses to return as she says she feels violated by Canadian customs officials and unsafe without her crew. Sorry for the inconvenience, the Roosevelt Room feels terrible and we hope we’ve given you sufficient time to reschedule your evening.
Rest assured that there are no “bad bitches” scheduled to perform at the Roosevelt Room for the rest of TIFF so the remainder of the line-up will go smoothly as planned
