Exclusive: Details on Catwoman in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Image and video hosting by TinyPic is reporting that the official still released of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, the one where she's wearing the high-tech 2011 hipster sunglasses, is not Anne donning the full Catwoman costume.  Furthermore, the site has leaked Catwoman's backstory for the film, and the story behind the Batpod action pics.  As for Selina's backstory, let's just say that they're going with Frank Miller's take, and Anne might end up doing a little Elizabeth Berkley in "Showgirls".

Why Entertainment Weekly is excited for The X Factor USA

Before this morning’s X Factor press session for the Television Critics Association in L.A., my enthusiasm for this competition show was mild to nil. Another competition-show import, more snark from Simon Cowell, more ditziness from Paula Abdul. Big shrug. But the lively, goofy press conference made me think this could be the one of the best, messiest, most controversial Age of Narcissism star-making shows we’ll see this fall.

Why? Here’s why:

VINCENT GALLO UPDATE: 1) Future Films Will NOT Be Shown to Public; 2) New G-Star Ads

A while ago, I wrote here about the sad fate of the movies that graced the world's leading film festivals but never made it into British cinemas.

But although it fit the criteria, one movie that went unmentioned was Promises Written in Water, a tale of tortured love from gobby polymath Vincent Gallo which premiered last year in Venice.

Denis Leary raves about "The Amazing Spider-Man" co-stars Garfield and Stone

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Denis Leary is raving over Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of Peter Parker and Spider-Man in the upcoming “The Amazing Spider-Man.”

“I loved Andrew. I really loved him,” Denis, who plays Gwen Stacy’s (Emma Stone) dad, Capt. George Stacy, in the July 3, 2012-due film, said of working with the actor, after the “Rescue Me” portion of the Television Critics Association Summer Session in Beverly Hills. “I think he’s great. He’s terrific in the role. He was trained as a gymnast when he was growing up in England, which came in handy. Most of the stunts in the movie are done live in front of the cameras.

“He’s really just a terrific actor,” Denis continued, in response to a question from Access Hollywood. “I loved working with him. I thought he was great.”

The New York-bred star said he was also very impressed with his movie daughter Emma.

“Same thing with Emma. I thought she was just — they’re both, they’re actually more mature than I am, and so that says a lot, but they’re very incredibly talented and really [expletive] professional,” Denis said. “I mean, she’s 22 years old. I don’t want to tell you what I was doing at 22 years old. I was very impressed by her.”

Sorry for my first post mods, I hit the return key by accident.

The legendary Roy Dotrice, a longtime friend of George R. R. Martin and voice artiste extraordinaire has been cast to play Pyromancer (traditionally called a “Wisdom”) Hallyne. Some of you know of Roy due to the fact that he was initially cast to play Grand Maester Pycelle, but had to pull out before the first season due to an illness.

Most others know him because he is responsible for the thousand-and-one voices you hear on your A Song of Ice and Fire audiobooks; Roy did all of them except A Feast for Crows, and is quite well regarded within the fandom because of that.

George confirmed our suspicions on his Not A Blog:

"Yes, it’s ROY DOTRICE in the role of Hallyne the pyromancer, chief of the Guild of Alchemists.

The “hot hint” was a reference to pyromancy, of course.

Down under Manhattan, in the tunnel community of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Roy played Father, the wise leader of the tunnel folk.

Later, as audiobook reader, he did all the myriad voices in the first three Ice & Fire novels.

And of course the alchemists style themselves with the honorific “wisdom.”

Roy is one of the finest actors I have ever had the privilege of working with, and I’m thrilled to have him back on the series."

Jason Momoa Pens Script for 'Conan the Barbarian' Sequel

Jason Momoa has revealed that he has penned a script for a potential sequel to Conan the Barbarian.

Momoa, who plays the film's lead character, said that he is signed on to reprise the role if audiences respond well to the reboot.

"I am [signed on] as long as people go out and watch [the first film], you know what I mean?" Momoa told Crave Online, regarding the possibility for a sequel.

The Game of Thrones star explained that his script is currently awaiting approval from studio bosses.

"[W]e're waiting to see if they'll accept it," Momoa continued. "It will mostly be [original]. It's character-adapted, because I really want to get into more of the mythical creatures."

Momoa recently revealed that he has yet to watch the 1982 original film, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Robert E. Howard pulp creation.

Conan the Barbarian is due out in cinemas on August 19 in the US, and August 26 in the UK.

Super 8 Screener Leaks With (Literally) H. Stern's Name All Over It. Is Howard Stern to Blame?

A high-quality copy of the Steven Spielberg movie ‘Super 8′ has turned up online and is spreading like wildfire. While it is hardly unusual for preview copy DVD screeners to become available in this way, it is unusual for them to carry watermarks which appear to identify the source of the leak. Come Monday morning, Howard Stern might have some questions to answer.

Back in June, Paramount Pictures were setting their lawyers on Todd Blatt, a mechanical engineer from Baltimore.

Blatt had used his design skills and 3D printing company ShapeWays to come up with replicas of the strange cube-shaped objects seen in the Steven Spielberg movie, Super 8.

While that confrontation appeared to end fairly bloodlessly, a new copyright controversy surrounding the movie may not.

Poor-quality cammed copies of Super 8 started turning up online as soon as the movie premiered, but during the last 24 hours the game has gotten a whole lot more interesting. Several P2P release groups have uploaded the movie in high-quality, each one apparently sourced from the same studio-issued DVD Screener.

As can be seen from the screenshot below, the copy has the usual watermarks across the bottom of the screen stating that the movie is the property of Paramount Pictures. However, in the top right hand corner is another watermark which appears to indicate who the copy was given to – H STERN.

The watermark runs throughout the entire copy and although it’s possible that someone is trying to have some fun at Mr Stern’s expense by putting it there, it seems unlikely that a release group would do such a thing.

Furthermore, if that was the case and a clean ‘unpranked’ copy was available, it would turn up very quickly indeed. At the moment it seems that all release groups are using the same source.

A few hours ago Stern stylist Ralph Cirella denied having anything to do with the leak.

The other possibility of course is that there is another H STERN on the DVD Screener list. Likely? We’ll probably find out on Monday.

Cybercriminals Use 'Pottermore' Mania to Infect Harry Potter Fans

As far as cybersecurity is concerned, it may be more dangerous right now to be a Harry Potter fan than to be a government official.

That's because cybercriminals have been taking advantage of the huge swell of interest and excitement over Pottermore, the interactive virtual world gearing up for its official October launch. Overeager fans have allowed themselves to be subject to such risks as trojans, nefarious search engine hijinks, and fraudulent beta accounts.

But I guess you already knew that or you'd be trying to register at If you didn't get in on early registration, I know there some ONTDers with extra accounts that would probably happily give them away. And we're not sketchy or mean, so I would definitely try that route if you really really want the opportunity for a beta code.

Marc Cherry discusses the last season of Desperate Housewives + spoilers for season eight + promo

It’s official: Desperate Housewives will end its eight-season run in May, ABC president Paul Lee confirmed Sunday morning at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills.

“It’s an iconic show and we’re extremely proud of it,” said Lee. “I just wanted to make sure it had its victory lap.”

Housewives creator Marc Cherry said he didn’t want to overstay his welcome. “I wanted to go out when the network still saw us as a viable show and a force to contend with,” he told reporters. “We felt from a creative standpoint that this was the right time. I feel so good about it.”

Cherry admitted that “there was a touch of shock” when he informed the cast of the news. “I’ve spoken to over half of them,” he said. “It was bittersweet and lovely, because the women knew there was the possibility… They said some very lovely things to me about how I’ve changed their lives and careers. I truly, truly love every one of them. [They] fill me up with such emotion inside; I love my cast. [They're] people who are smart enough to be grateful.”

As for the inevitable spin-off question, Cherry said that he joked to Eva Longoria, “‘I was going to put you in a van and have you solve mysteries!’ The truth is I sort of thought about [a spin-off] a little bit, but as a writer … I don’t want repeat things I’ve done.” To that end, Cheery says that his next project, Hallelujah (now being redeveloped for ABC), is “such a different animal.”

Justin Timberlake: 'I would have made it without 'N Sync'

Justin Timberlake has said that he would have been successful without 'N Sync.

The singer first found fame in the late '90s as a member of the boyband, whose hits included 'Girlfriend', 'Pop' and 'Bye Bye Bye'.

He began a solo career in 2002, spawning two highly successful albums and many collaborations with other artists. He has since forged an acting career, appearing in the likes of The Social Network and Friends With Benefits.

Timberlake told Elle magazine that he would have been discovered, even if the boyband had never existed.

"I don't want this to come out the wrong way," he said. "It was an amazing platform but even without it, I believe I would have been heard as a solo artist."

He added that he was surprised his record company allowed him to not play them his two albums until they were fully complete.

"I don't know why they let me do that. But I hadn't come out of nowhere. People had preconceptions and I didn't want to be misunderstood. I've learned that people have preconceptions, period. They're uncontrollable but they're not who you are."

Hollywood is often portrayed as a haven for lusty libertines, but there are a number of celebrities who have opted out of physical intimacy for personal, moral, and religious reasons. Sex sells, but no sex is fascinating, too. No, this is not a list of VIRGINS, this is a list of mostly well-sexed people that decided to abstain from sex.

In 2010, during her stint on Dancing with the Stars, performer Brandy Norwood overshared that she hadn't been intimate with anyone in 6 years. Ke$ha and Britney are robotic party-sluts; Kween Katy remains normal, qt, and relatable

Consider Katy Perry--who, a few years before her rapid rise to stardom, was best known as "the girlfriend of that guy from Gym Class Heroes." Now, Perry sells out stadiums. She's gotten so popular that she's performing at the Nokia Theatre in LA for three nights in a row this weekend before moving on to another SoCal performance in San Diego. What makes this young songstress such a hit?

A mainstream artist's image is as important to CD sales as his or her actual music. Songwriting skill isn't as much of a differentiating factor as image, especially for female artists, who come in a range of industry-crafted types.

There's Kreayshawn and Nicki Minaj, bad bitches who've won exclusive access to the boy's club with their ball-busting lyrics and lady swag ("I've got the swag and it's pumping out my ovaries" Kreayshawn raps on "Gucci Gucci." "You may be the king, but watch the queen conquer," Nicki spits on Kanye's "Monster"); the ultra-femmes Beyonce and Rihanna--paragons of female sexuality; robotic party-sluts Ke$ha and Britney Spears (the latter of which is so fake that you can see the producer's marionette strings); Lady Gaga whose over-the-top shtick appeals to freaks and geeks alike; and Taylor Swift, who would have every girl believe that romance is like Romeo and Juliet.

By comparison, Katy Perry's somewhat of an enigma. Collapse )

Jesse Eisenberg Interview

In the black comedy “30 Minutes or Less,” Jesse Eisenberg plays a slacker named Nick, a comfortably numb 20-something who delivers pizzas in the low-rent suburbs.

It’s a job even the walking dead could do — which Nick is figuratively soon turned into, when a couple of crazed criminals strap a time bomb to his chest and demand he rob a bank.

“Most scripts are for movies that require characters,” Eisenberg says. “This one features a character who required this movie. He needs this insane thing happening to him to wake him up. Honestly, he needs this movie more than it needs him.”

Lea Michele Thinks 'Glee' Spinoff Would Be Incredible

Lea Michele has said that she would be "so happy" to win a Glee spinoff.

The 24-year-old is due to take a reduced role in the Fox comedy when her character Rachel Berry graduates at the end of the upcoming third season.

Reports then emerged that Michele would go on to star in a New York-set spinoff with Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel), though Glee creator Ryan Murphy has since revealed that plans were dropped following the controversy over cast departures.

When asked whether she would want to star in her own spinoff, Michele said: "The truth is that I have the greatest job. I work with the most incredible cast and I think Ryan Murphy is honestly the most talented man in the entire world, so if [a spinoff] meant I got to keep working with him for a while, I would be so happy."

Michele also shared her hope that Rachel's relationship with Finn (Cory Monteith) would endure a potential move to New York in season three.

"I have a feeling and I hope that they'll just keep us together for a while," she said. "When we left off in the finale she was telling him, 'I wanna go to New York, that's where I'm gonna go when I graduate'. Hopefully they'll stay together and I feel like that's gonna be the deal-breaker."

Michele claimed back in July that she always knew she would leave Glee next year.

Family, investigator question 'pizza bomber' movie

In this surveillance video image released Sept. 17, 2005, by the FBI, pizza deliveryman Brian Wells, of Erie, Pa., carries a plastic bag of cash after robbing the PNC bank, Aug. 28, 2003, at Summit Towne Centre in Erie. Wells was killed when a bomb that was attached to a collar locked around his neck exploded after the robbery. Columbia Pictures comedy film "30 Minutes or Less" opens in theaters nationwide on Friday. Family members of Wells, say they will avoid the film that has a premise similar to the incident that killed Wells.

When the comedy "30 Minutes or Less" opens in theaters Friday, one small group of people will be sure to avoid it.

That would be the surviving family members of Brian Wells, the 46-year-old pizza delivery driver who was killed when a metal bomb collar he was forced to wear while robbing a bank exploded in Pennsylvania eight years ago.

The movie's handlers acknowledge the screenwriters were "vaguely" aware of Wells, but say the movie — in which two ne'er-do-wells force a pizza driver to rob a bank while wearing a time bomb vest — isn't based on the infamous Pennsylvania collar-bomb case, and especially Wells' grisly, tragic death.

Still, Wells' sister, Jean Heid of Erie, said the movie isn't funny — whether or not it was inspired by her brother's sad fate.

"It's hard for me to grasp how other human beings can take delight and pride in making such a movie and consider it a comedy," Heid said in an e-mailed response to The Associated Press. Heid asked to respond by e-mail because she wanted to choose her words carefully. "I don't think it's funny to laugh at the innocent who are victimized by criminals, who care nothing for human life."

"Neither the filmmakers nor the stars of '30 Minutes or Less' were aware of this crime prior to their involvement in the film," Steve Elzer, the senior vice president who handles media relations for Sony Pictures' Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, said in a statement. "The writers were vaguely familiar with what had occurred and wrote an original screenplay that does not mirror the real-life tragedy."

Screenwriters Michael Diliberti and Matt Sullivan didn't respond to requests for comment through their agent. But, based on its madcap theatrical trailer, it appears the film doesn't mirror the Wells case beyond the pizza-bomber plot device or go anywhere near paralleling Wells' death.

Collapse )

Still, Heid said, "I have no interest in seeing this movie. How would you feel if it were your family member being made fun of?"

I saw this movie at a prescreen last week. It's terrible, I chuckled once or twice. I was not aware of the real case before.

Olivia Wilde to play reduced role on 'House'

House creator David Shore has confirmed that Olivia Wilde will play a minimal role in the show's eighth season.

The 27 years old Cowboys & Aliens star plays Dr. Remy 'Thirteen' Hadley on the Fox medical drama, but appeared in just seven episodes last season due to her film commitments.

"[She will] not [appear] a lot [next season] unfortunately," Shore told TV Line. "She's a movie star."

He added that Wilde is currently expected to appear in "something like" one or two episodes of the new run.

"I regret losing her, but, again, this was not our choice," he said. "Things happened at the end of last season that I wasn't happy about and I hadn't planned for."

However, Shore insisted that he is "very happy" with the coming season, which will introduce new regular characters played by Odette Annable and Charlyne Yi.

"This has turned out to be a real opportunity," he claimed. "We're really doing some cool stuff at the start of the season and it's pumped some fresh blood into the show."

House will return to Fox on October 3.

He tried recently (like in the last 5 years) to enter a conversion program that would make him ‘not gay.’ He dropped thousands of dollars on the program and believed it was successful for a year or two. However, our source said that the actor now realizes the program didn’t work and is now seeing a therapist that is helping him to accept and embrace his homosexuality. Good for him!

Jane Fonda Talks Bulimia and Body Image

73 year-old actress Jane Fonda recently opened up to Harper’s Bazaar about her troubled past with body image issues and eating disorders – here’s what she has to say:

Body image, the 1950s, and Henry Fonda: “I was raised in the ’50s,” she explains. “I was taught by my father that how I looked was all that mattered, frankly. He was a good man, and I was mad for him, but he sent messages to me that fathers should not send: Unless you look perfect, you’re not going to be loved.”

She was a fanatic for exercise, and she battled bulimia for decades: “I wasn’t very happy from, I would say, puberty to 50? It took me a long time. It was in my 40s, and if you suffer from bulimia, the older you get, the worse it gets. It takes longer to recover from a bout. I had a career, I was winning awards, I was supporting nonprofits, I had a family.” One day she just stopped. “I had to make a choice: I live or I die.” She refocused, trying to “fill that empty space with something.” Then came the workouts. “Gloria Steinem said empowerment begins in the muscles.”

Vanities: “I’m vain. My arms are thin, but I’m vain about loose flesh. And so I’m careful that what I wear will show off my best parts, which are my waist and my butt.” That said, “I have people in my life who will say, ‘Honey, you’re trying too hard.’ I like being saucy, but I’m 73 and a half. I’m still trying to find my way between matronly and coltishness. Colt, not cult: C-O-L-T.”

Trashy Singer Crosses the Line- Rides an Old Man on Stage

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Is there nothing Rihanna will not do on stage?

The bajan singer yet again pushed the boundaries of her stage performance by pulling an older man on stage and jumped on top of him to give him a raunchy lap dance.

Looking a mixture of petrified and bewildered, the greying gentleman lay on the ground and looked up at Rihanna as she straddled and writhed on top of him.

Rihanna was in her home country of Barbados for the latest leg of her Loud tour.

Wearing black hot pants, a bra top and ankle boots, the Umbrella singer was seemingly intent on giving the man the time of his life with her dirty dancingCollapse )

Lady Gaga accused of Bob Dylan plagiarism on new single cover

Lady Gaga’s latest single “You and I” is pretty much dead in Chicago. B96 has played it once and then discontinued the song from its airplay list (for now). It has also dropped on the national iTunes chart to number 117. But Lady Gaga’s biggest problem is that she is being accused of plagiarizing Bob Dylan for the single cover.

The cover to “You and I” features Lady Gaga dressed as a man looking almost exactly like Bob Dylan. “I guess she has run out of all her Madonna incarnations, so now she’s turning into Bob Dylan? This is an insult to our legend,” says poster DylanMasterful at the Bob Dylan Fan Site. The comments on aren’t any more impressive. One user notes that she liked Lady Gaga’s incarnation of Madonna vs. the Skunk better.

Lady Gaga has faced all sorts of criticism this year and besides plagiarism, has been accused of scamming charities, insulting Latinos, insulting Asians, cheating the music industry with her 99 cent album sale, and a lot more. Do you think she deserves all this vitriol?

Eli Roth Warns Fans About Hostel Maze, Remains ONTD's Favorite While Doing So

Moviemaker Eli Roth has warned horror fans not to take their kids into his maze of terror during Universal Studios theme park’s Halloween celebrations this year – because the attraction is strictly R-rated.

The Hostel director has been working on the idea with Universal bosses for the past eight months and he’s convinced it will shock and terrify the hardiest film fan when it opens in the run-up to 31 October at the California theme park.

Roth has been a regular at the park’s annual month of horror nights and the Eyegore Awards, which launch the freaky festivities, for over a decade and he admits the maze attraction is “a nightmare” come true for him.

He tells WENN, “I proposed the idea last year at the Eyegore Awards, and we’ve been designing the maze together for nearly eight months. I was blown away by the production value. Every sick, wild idea I had they rendered perfectly, and they came up with many ingenious, twisted scares as well.
“They are real horror fans at Universal; they love it as much as I do, and it was a true collaboration. But be warned: this is not for kids, nor for the weak of stomach. It’s a full-on Hostel maze, no punches pulled, only intestines. It’s my nightmare come true.”

Interviews with Pretty Little Liars' Ian Harding

Interviews with Da Man and Troix magazines

Portraying the English teacher Ezra Fritz in the TV series ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ the young and talented actor Ian Harding already has a cult-like following. He spent some time with DA MAN and reveals some interesting insights. Here, Harding gives us his best poses in this exclusive fashion feature.

Born in Heidelberg, Germany—where his American military parents were posted—Ian Harding joined the drama club at his high school after his family moved back to the U.S. specifically, the state of Virginia. He fell in love with acting at that time and his passion for it continues to this day. He has had a good number of roles both in feature films and on TV, but nothing as prominent as his role in Pretty Little Liars.
His feature credits include Greg Mottola’s Adventureland and Ed Zwick’s Love and Other Drugs—where he plays alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. Although he states that feature films and TV are two very different industries, Harding explains that “these challenges are what get me fired up.” Before becoming a regular on Pretty Little Liars (which just began Season 2 in June 2011), he had small roles on NCIS: Los Angeles and others.

DA MAN: Tell us about Pretty Little Liars, a recap of Season 1 and what’s going on in Season 2?
Ian Harding: Wow … a lot happened. I’m still trying to keep my relationship going with the love of my life who happens to be seven years younger than me, (and a junior in high school as well), and this season the stakes are raised, things get steamier and more dangerous, and story lines intertwine like vines in a swamp. A vague answer—I know—but that’s the best I can give in under 30,000 words.
