She's the traveling singer-songwriter whose unique brand of "indie folk pop" mesmerized the coaches of NBC’s The Voice and charted a new course for her career. Where will the road take her next?
Rock fans call her sound folksy, and folk enthusiasts call it pop, but it was her self-branded “post-brontosaurus indie folk crunk” -- a quirky nod to her hometown of Atlanta -- that caught the attention of a casting director for a new NBC reality show, and would eventually lead this bubbly singer-songwriter to an unexpected detour in her musical career.
For Rebecca Loebe (that’s low-bee), her journey to the mainstream began years before she delivered that hypnotic rendition of “Come As You Are” that seamlessly meshed the lyrical genius of Nirvana with her early influences of Joni Mitchell and Patty Griffin, and had Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine begging to work with her.

Warner Bros. will release their biggest film of the year next week with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and, reportedly, they’ll tease us immediately beforehand with a trailer for their biggest film of next year. A source tells Superhero Hype that a 93 second teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, along with a teaser poster, should hit theaters next weekend in front of 2D and 3D screening of Potter. No word what the teaser will entail, if it’ll have actual footage (like Batman Begins) or just audio (like The Dark Knight), but feel free to speculate after the jump.
The Dark Knight Rises is just over a year away. It’ll open July 20, 2012.
What do you think ONTD will the trailer and poster be released? You excited for the movie? Will it meet the standards of TDK?
This week, the internet noticed that Blake Mycoskie, the founder of the philanthropic slip-on shoe company TOMS, which donates a pair of shoes for every one bought (and has expanded greatly and now includes a wedding collection), has been working closely with Focus on the Family, which does not exactly work with the brand's totally chill image.
Focus on the Family is an evangelical non-profit and the things that come along with that -- hating gay people, evolution, abortion -- clash mightily with the beliefs of most hippie, hipster, bearded, crunchy, countercultural(-ish), what-have-you types that have embraced the feel-good mission of TOMS and what everyone thought they stood for. We might have another Whole Foods on our hands!

Sources inside the Dillon's Irish Pub in Hollywood tell TMZ ... Zac, Ryan, Rumer Willis and a few other friends ordered a total of 7 Kamikaze shots, 8 or 9 mixed drinks and 3 - 4 beers.
Zac and Rottman both left the bar at around 9:30 and went their separate ways. We shot video of Zac running from the bar to his car, though it appears Rumer drove him away. By 9:45, Rottman was in police custody.
Rottman apparently was hammered. Cops spotted him after he drove up a curb near Dillion's. He blew a .19, more than twice the legal limit.+
We asked Zac's rep if the actor urged his friend to take a taxi or find some other way home that would not have put him behind the wheel. We did not get a response.
The 71-year-old said that he even now gets nervous before playing in public - but gets by with a little help from his friends.
“I feel like running away three seconds before I’m due to hit the stage,” the Daily Mail quoted him as telling the Austrian magazine News.
“That’s why I always run on to it. I would love to coolly stroll on stage but I cannot,” he said.
Starr added: “I love performing but I just have this nervousness every time.”

After tackling the story of an aging man’s sexual appetite with the acclaimed Michael Douglas drama Solitary Man, Brian Koppelman and David Levien are taking on the subject again, this time from a different point of view.
Koppelman and Levien will rewrite and direct The Game, MGM’s adaptation of the best-selling Neil Strauss book about picking up women. Part memoir, part how-to guide, The Game details Strauss's effort to learn the tricks to becoming a successful pick-up artist, even moving into a Sunset Strip mansion filled with other competing players to find love.
The project was originally set up at Columbia with Chris Weitz attached to direct, then it shacked up with Spyglass with D.B. Weiss writing. Later, Lionsgate made a pass at an incarnation with Rawson Marshall Thurber attached to helm. Fox Searchlight also flirted with the project, but Game has now made its way to MGM. Chris and Paul Weitz are attached to produce.
MGM, Koppelman and Levien plan to move fast with The Game and want to begin casting soon.

The Casey Anthony verdict caused a lot of Americans to ask whether the justice system needs a serious rewrite. Casey Anthony: The Movie, starring...not Kristen Stewart.
Kristen Stewart is none too pleased with chatter linking her and Casey Anthony, the 25-year-old Florida woman acquitted this week in the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. "Kristen wants that talk to blow over soon, because it looks really bad."
Don't expect Stewart to portray Anthony in a flick anytime soon. "She would never for no amount of money portray that girl," the source says. "It's grossing her out. All those entertainment shows are doing polls and what not and her people just want it to stop!"

Had I known the full extent of Focus on the Family’s beliefs, I would not have accepted the invitation to speak at their event. It was an oversight on my part and the company’s part and one we regret. In the last 18 months we have presented at over 70 different engagements and we do our best to make sure we choose our engagements wisely, on this one we chose poorly.
Furthermore, contrary to what has been reported, Focus on the Family is not a TOMS giving partner.
So there is no misunderstanding created by this mistake, let me clearly state that both TOMS, and I as the founder, are passionate believers in equal human and civil rights for all. That belief is a core value of the company and of which we are most proud.

Emma Watson has claimed that she felt like an actress for the first time while working on Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
The 21-year-old, who has played Hermione Granger for 11 years, likened her time on the wizarding franchise to the "most difficult film school" in existence.
"Watching the new film I feel I've really learned something in these 10 years," she told The Mirror. "For the first time I really felt like an actress and I have an idea of what I can be as an actress. And that is very exciting. I've worked with animals, special effects, I've done some serious stunts and I've worked with some of the best actors and actresses in the world. I couldn't have had better training. I feel I've graduated from the most difficult, hardcore film school of all time and I can't believe how lucky I've been. Now I'm ambitious to use what I've learned to do good work."
Asked to identify her favorite Harry Potter entry, Watson replied: "The first Harry Potter film will always be very close to my heart. But Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 are the ones I look back on as my favorites - we got stretched so much and really challenged."
However, Watson added that she was ready to move on from blockbuster movies and spoke fondly of her "amazing" coming-of-age film The Perks of Being A Wallflower, due for release next year.

'I play (head of scalphunters) Peter Guillam. My cover has been blown during an operation in North Africa and I've come back with my tail between my legs. I had been high up as an operative and then I'm demoted to run a branch of the service called the scalphunters at the Circus.
'One of Peter's contacts, Ricki Tarr (Tom Hardy), comes to him with a claim that there is a mole operating at the heart of the Circus, and Peter takes it to the civil servant in charge of the intelligence service. George Smiley is brought back from retirement to investigate from the outside, and Peter is his man on the inside.
'It's a crucial relationship in the story and Guillam sacrifices a lot for Smiley, a man he respects enormously and regards almost as a parental figure. Guillam sees Smiley as a man who is trustworthy in an increasingly opaque and slippery moral landscape.'
'John le Carré is an actor's dream. He knew the spying profession well enough to see what it did to human beings, especially men. He really was part of that world, and that's where the authenticity comes in - it's not just the colours or geography or historical accuracy.
'He is a fantastic man - so eloquent and beautiful. Every single nuance of the characters has been thought out, all the back story, and he gives you a very rich and detailed tip of an iceberg.
'Spying in Tinker, Tailor is about very lonely men in a very high-pressure job, and the absence of women isn't just the mark of the workplace in the early Seventies, but it's also very much to do with how emotionally retarded these men are.
'It's a mark of the many sacrifices I think they made. And sexuality was a very powerful tool then. I keep my character's homosexuality secret because you are so open to blackmail. It necessitates a certain amount of secretiveness, which goes hand in hand with spying.'
UNFFFF. Seriously cannot wait for this movie to come out. I need to remember to bring extra pants and a bucket for my saliva and eventual burst of ovaries.

And a great re-cap post if you missed it: http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/60883067.html
As a child, I referred to myself as a Princess, and I looked to my mother as my Queen. My father was King, the head of our household, the ruler. That’s just the way it was, and I was content with that. Over the years, gender roles have changed, and it seems women aren’t feeling the title “Queen” anymore. As women, we can do it all, but does that make us kings?
A couple of weeks ago, there was a lot of chatter on the blogs regarding Beyoncé’s latest single “Best I Never Had”. The artwork released with the single featured Beyoncé looking into a mirror with the words “King B” written in lipstick in her reflection. King B?
Beyonce isn’t the first to start calling herself king. Think back to Nicki Minaj’s video for “Moment for Life” where, in the beginning of the video, it reads, “Once upon a time, there lived a King named Nicki Minaj.” Oh, and recall the lyrics in which she raps, “In this very moment I’m king…” King Nicki?
And before Nicki Minaj, there was King Va$htie, a woman who has directed, consulted and designed for hip-hop artists for years. When Beyoncé’s cover art was revealed she tweeted, “It’s so entertaining that broads are referring to themselves as “KING…” now. it’s cute.” Vashtie Kola has been calling herself King Va$htie since she was in high school due to her disdain for feminine titles, i.e. “Queen.”
What’s wrong with feminine titles like “Queen”? I always found joy in the thought of meeting my king and me being his queen, just like my mother found in my father. But is that just an old school way of thinking? I wonder how Jay-Z feels about Beyonce’s self-proclaimed title. If she’s a king and he’s a king, then…? By calling ourselves king are we demasculinating the men in our lives or are we merely empowering ourselves?
Star-Spangled and Searching His Own Psyche
WHEN some actors land a potentially life-altering role, they celebrate that success with exorbitant purchases: new homes, sports cars, plastic surgery. When Chris Evans agreed to play Captain America, he went into therapy.
For several weeks Mr. Evans, 30, had been wrestling with — and repeatedly turning down — the offer to play that star-spangled Marvel Comics superhero, and wondering why the anxiety he often feels about public scrutiny and momentous choices was hitting him harder than ever.
He wasn’t necessarily seeking opportunities to star in a comic-book movie franchise or to spend about a month’s worth of meetings talking to a professional about his feelings. But he concluded that these seemingly unrelated options were intertwined steps on a path he needed to follow.
“I wouldn’t have done it,” Mr. Evans said, discussing his therapy experience over a recent lunch at a Studio City delicatessen, “had I not agreed to do ‘Captain America’ and gone into panic mode.” He added, “The second I agreed to do it, I was like, ‘All right, I’ll do this, but I’ve got to start working on my head.’ ”

Artie Lange says returning to The Howard Stern Show would be “the greatest thing ever,” but he also acknowledges the difficulty of the situation.
Lange, Howard Stern’s former side kick, hasn’t been on the Stern show since December 2009. In January 2010, we learned of his heartbreaking suicide attempt in which he reportedly stabbed himself multiple times in the abdomen with a knife.
“Listen, I was on the greatest show of all time for about nine years, and I put them in a very awkward situation, to say the least,” Lange told a caller this week during a Fox Sports Radio appearance – his first since January 2010 – with Nick DiPaolo. “So what am I gonna do?”
While 43-year-old Lange has offered to return to the Sirus radio show to share what happened, Howard Stern has been reluctant to accept the offer.
“He said to me recently that he would be willing to come on the air and explain what happened and stuff,” Stern told Rolling Stone magazine. “I don’t even feel strong enough within myself or that I’d be doing the right thing by him, because I don’t want to do the wrong thing for Artie. I just want Artie to stay alive.”
Although Stern is saying no right now, the iconic radio-star recently renewed his contract with Sirius, ensuring he will be on the air for at least another 5 years. In that amount of time, who knows what can happen.
Lamorne Morris has replaced Damon Wayans Jr. in Fox’s upcoming fall comedy The New Girl.
Morris will play Winston, a competitive former athlete who has realized he’ll never go pro and moves into the loft shared with Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield and Jake Johnson. Wayans played Coach, one of the roommates, in the pilot but the role was in second position to ABC’s Happy Endings, which was recently picked up for a second season.
Rather than recast and reshoot the pilot, Morris will join the comedy in the second episode of the series. Wayans’ Coach will only be seen in the pilot episode and Winston will be introduced in Episode 2.
Morris’ credits include hosting Cartoon Network’s game show Brain Rush and hosting his own show HotWyred on BET and several of the cable network’s live-show specials. His credits also include an episode of The Middle.
From 20th Television and Chernin Entertainment, the series was created and written by Liz Meriwether, who executive produces alongside Jake Kasdan, Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope, Dave Finkel and Brett Baer. Kasdan directed the pilot.
New Girl premieres in the prime post-Glee slot on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 9 p.m.

Becoming One of the ‘Relevant’By CHRISTIAN LORENTZEN
The New York Times
NEW YORK — On a recent Friday night, Bebe Zeva, a teenage fashion blogger, journalist and model based in Las Vegas, was dining at the restaurant Lodge with a group of 20-something contributors to the online magazine Thought Catalog.
"I like to concentrate on the cuteness of what I'm eating," Zeva said. She had switched from coconut and almond vegan ice cream to a skirt steak. In a black minidress, black stockings, a sheer black and navy metallic robe and a floppy black hat, with dozens of long silver and gold chains slung from her neck, she looked like a brunette Stevie Nicks in miniature.
"Don't leave the house unless you look like you're going to a funeral," was Zeva's style rule for the weekend, which she was spending in the company of Leigh Alexander, a video-gaming journalist. Zeva calls this style Cyber Goth.
When someone at the table asked Zeva her age (she recently turned 18), the novelist and poet Tao Lin said: "She looks a lot more like 12 to me. But she seems like a genius."
Zeva was in town for the premiere screening of "Bebe Zeva," a feature-length video produced by Lin and Megan Boyle, who are selling it through their website, mdmafilms.org. (It was also screened this spring in Houston.)
In January Zeva appeared in Seventeen magazine, dispensing style advice. Later she was named a judge at the WWD Magic trade show, which will be held in her hometown in August. On April 1, Elle's blog asked, "Is Bebe the new Tavi?" referring to Tavi Gevinson, the 15-year-old who became a New York Fashion Week staple after starting a blog at age 11 from her home in Illinois. Lin helped cast Zeva as Audrey, an ingenue, in a planned film adaptation of his novel "Shoplifting From American Apparel."
she looks like a drag queen but the picture is still adorable. so nice seeing the family together.
Brian from DCFanatic.com recorded the above audio during Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson's June 30 appearance on the All Out Show with Rude Jude and Lord Sear. (It airs on Sirius XM's Shade 45—an Eminem-branded hip hop channel—and is uncensored, if you're interested.)
In it, you'll hear DeSean not take too kindly to one of the calls, from Troy in Tennessee. Troy asks if DeSean's "had his dick knocked in the dirt [indecipherable]," before the call ends. According to the invaluable Urban Dictionary, knocking one's dick in the dirt entails knocking someone down or out—maybe even giving someone a concussion?
Jackson replies, "What type of question is that? Say 'no homo', gay-ass. Faggot."
Now, we don't know whether DeSean assumed "dick in the dirt" was some sort of reference to gay stuff—it could be!—or whether DeSean was just particularly cranky then. Maybe Troy's inaudible bit crossed a line that we don't know. Sirius XM sent us a clear 15-minute bit from earlier in DeSean's stint—he was DJing and taking more calls—but, alas, nothing to limn this exchange.
UPDATE: We spoke with "Rude" Jude from the All Out Show, who said that he hopes Jackson doesn't apologize—that Jackson was bantering with the callers, "is a hood dude," and for "hood cats, the worst thing you can call someone is a bitch or a faggot. I don't think he's homophobic. He's joking."

Each poster tells one book's story in comics form ... and then there's "The Sumharry," which shows the whole saga as a comic.

Fanboys rejoiced when NBC executives nixed David E. Kelley's take on DC Comics' iconic Wonder Woman for their fall television schedule. However, that didn't stop them from asking the magic question: "When is it going to leak on the internet???" While we're still waiting for the whole thing to end up online, check out a quick 30 seconds of it below, featuring pilot star Adrianne Palicki getting ready to battle a group of muscled thugs.

Brendan Gleeson’s A-list period drama gets further cast and co-production support.
Brendan Gleeson’s long-gestating period drama At-Swim-Two-Birds is getting closer to production, likely to start shooting in spring 2012.
Gleeson, who will direct and play the role of the uncle in his own adaptation of Flann O’Brien’s acclaimed 1939 novel, told Screen at the Galway Film Fleadh that while funding was still coming together on the project he had a new commitment to the film from Michael Fassbender along with already announced stars Gabriel Byrne, Colin Farrell, Cillian Murphy and Gleeson’s son, rising star Domhnall.
Gleeson’s passion project, co-produced with Alan Moloney’s Parallel Films, has also newly received backing from Luxembourg producer Jani Thiltes and the Film Fund Luxembourg.
The story follows a teenage student who populates his creative writing with important characters from his own life.
The film is something of a passion-project for Gleeson who acquired the rights to the film seven years ago and has been working on it seriously for four years.
Flying on a plane next to 12 screaming kids is enough to drive anyone insane -- and that's exactly what set Kristen Johnston off last night ... and the 12 kids belonged to Octomom!
Nadya Suleman was flying back from New York City last night and her and the brood took up most of the business class section of the plane. The flight was delayed for more than two hours and Nadya tried to silence the kids -- to no avail.
The crying babies annoyed the "3rd Rock from the Sun" star so much, she marched over to Nadya and told her keep it down.
Nadya's rep tells TMZ Nadya fired back, "How would you like me to keep eight 2-year-olds quiet?" To which Kristen allegedly responded, "Get more help!"
The rep says Nadya shouted back, "Why don't you grow a baby and get a life!"
Eventually Kristen returned to her seat, but according to Nadya's rep ... Kristen got off the plane and never returned.
We got Nadya when she belatedly landed at LAX, and she had no idea Johnston was a celebrity, telling us, "I guess there's some people that don't like kids."
On the back of Tracy Morgan's much-publicized (and much-maligned) homophobic stand-up routine, XXL magazine has undertaken a survey of sorts covering hip-hop's high and mighty as well as its more lo-fi brethren and notices a shift from the genre's historically hypermacho attitudes to a more live-and-let-live sensibility. Here, a rundown of some of the artists they highlight as proof that hip-hop is becoming more ~*~gay~*~ friendly.
Russell Simmons: The Def Jam Recordings honcho has been one of the ~*~gay~*~ rights' movements most visible supporters and says the rest of hip-hop isn't far behind him. "The hip-hop community are less homophobic than the rest of society."
Lil B: The rapper's recently released new album, titled I'm ~*~Gay~*~, is really the first time an artist has taken the issue on headfirst. Even though he's made a point of saying that he is, in fact, straight, Lil B told XXL that when he hears the word "~*~gay~*~," it "doesn't mean anything to me but happy."
