The full line-up for this year’s Film4 FrightFest has been released, and it’s another cracker of a programme.
Taking place at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square between 25-29 August, the schedule contains a record 10 British films and horrors from all around the world – including Israel and Switzerland.
A total of 37 spine-tinglers are included in the event, with bloodthirsty topics including killer santas, troll hunting, carrot-wielding psychos and even a werewolf musical.
This is Total Film’s third year in partnership with FrightFest, and every year we get behind one film in particular that we know is going to rock the world.
For 2011, we’re shoving our stamp of approval on gut-wrenching chiller Kill List (above), a British offering from Down Terrace director Ben Wheatley.
It follows an ex-soldier who's become a hitman, and heads off on a violent mission.
“Given to gloriously unpredictable, violent mood swings, Kill List is the best British genre film in some years,” says Jamie Graham, Deputy Editor of Total Film.
“Down Terrace announced director Ben Wheatley as One To Watch. Kill List ensures that Hollywood will now snap to attention too.”
