Once Taylor Swift gives a band her seal of approval, it's only a matter of time before the masses catch on, too.
Two years ago, Nashville-based pop outfit Hot Chelle Rae helped Taylor write her hilarious ditty "Thug Story," a collaboration with T-Pain that aired during the 2009 CMT Awards. Now they're climbing up the charts with a hit of their own: The unabashedly pop summer track "Tonight Tonight," which sounds an awful lot like a Miley Cyrus anthem as performed by, say, Jason Mraz.
While Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight" is nowhere near the masterpiece that is the Smashing Pumpkins song of the same name, it is a perfectly listenable radio hit performed by a bunch of a attractive dudes. In brief, the ladies—specifically those who are fans of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and the like—freaking love it. But the ladies have always loved Hot Chelle Rae; Bandmates Ryan Keith Follses, Nash Overstreet, Ian Keaggy and Jamie Follese chose their band name after a "dedicated" MySpace stalker.
The track is currently at No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 and climbing. Expect to see a lot more of these guys once their second album drops in the fall.
their song is currently number 11 on itunes! they are a band to watch out for!!
"The Greater Man upstairs knows when it's my time," James tweeted. "Right now isn't my time."
James finished with 21 points, four rebounds, six assists and six turnovers in 40 minutes in Game 6, as the Mavericks closed out the Heat, 4-2. James, 26, is now 0-for-2 in NBA Finals trips, as he also lost in the 2007 NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. His Finals averages: 17.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists. For the postseason, James averaged 23.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists.
This loss will largely be pinned on his shoulders.

Mommy-to-be January Jones and her good friend Jennifer Carpenter were spotted having a good ol’ time together while shopping in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday, June 11th, 2011. The blond X-Men: First Class star was dressed in a loose fitting, patterned dress with a skinny belt helping accent her growing baby bump and a black cardigan while her Dexter buddy wore a plaid shirt, jeans and sandals.
Speaking of the new Marvel movie, I finally had a chance to watch it yesterday afternoon and I absolutely loved it! Besides the gorgeous combination of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, January held her own in the tiny white costumes she wore for her role as Emma Frost.
People have been having a field day guessing who January’s potential baby daddy could be. The name that keeps popping up is Matthew Vaughn who directed the Mad Men actress in the X-Men film. He also happens to be married to supermodel Claudia Schiffer with whom he has three kids!
Let’s hope for his sake this is all just a bunch of worthless gossip. For right now, January is not saying a word about it.

This won't mark the first time Ke$ha has dropped by the Conan set. She swung by for an interview only a few weeks ago, which aired on May 11.
Other artists scheduled to stop by the show for its inaugural year include Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros on July 18, K.T. Tunstall on July 25 and Pitbull on August 1.
In addition to airing on the program, concert footage will also be available on Conan O'Brien's website, teamcoco.com.

Father issues and buckets of tears are soon coming to a Big Apple stage. Producers just announced that Big Fish, best known for its 2003 film adaptation directed by Tim Burton, will be turned into a Broadway musical with a book by John August, music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and director Susan Stroman. August wrote the screenplay for the Burton film based on the original novel by Daniel Wallace, Lippa did the music for The Addams Family musical and Stroman directed the most recent film version of Mel Brooks’ The Producers. Producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen, Oscar winners for American Beauty, hope to open the show on Broadway in the Spring of 2012.
The New York Times were among the first to report the story along with the following statements from the producer. Here’s Dan Jinks:
John August and Andrew Lippa have taken inspiration from Daniel Wallace’s book and Tim Burton’s movie and completely re-imagined this ambitious story for the stage. They have created a musical that is enormously entertaining, hilariously funny and spectacularly moving.

The Dallas Mavericks continued to stick it to the Miami Heat last night even AFTER they won the NBA Championship... partying at the same place LeBron's mom got arrested back in April.

Amanda Bynes experienced heartbreak in April when her 4-month-old teacup Pomeranian, Little Angel, died unexpectedly. And although she calls the experience "traumatic and devastating," her new dog, Tiara, is keeping her spirits high. "I already got a replacement pup, and she's awesome," Bynes recently told PEOPLE. "I'm such an animal lover, so it was such a tragic, awful thing when I lost Angel." At first, the actress had reported Little Angel as being lost, and then told her followers on Twitter that the pooch had died. "Little Angel is in heaven now," she wrote. "RIP I love you."
"I didn't go into detail about it because it was just so hard," she said. "But I'm really happy I have another dog." Some of her fans questioned Bynes's decision to get a new dog so quickly, and, again, she took to Twitter to defend herself. "For those asking if it's too soon for me to get a new puppy, it isn't too soon," she said. "Tiara's helping me cope with the loss of Little Angel."
As rough as it was to lose her little one, Bynes is moving forward and focusing on her latest canine companion. "Her name is Tiara, like a princess's tiara," she said. "She's just precious. She's just a little Pomeranian. You've got to love them."

It’s been a while since we’ve heard the soulful stylings of Fiona Apple. Her collaboration with Jon Brion for a cover of Buddy Holly’s “Everyday” is one of a handful of new tunes that fans have heard from the reclusive songwriter since 2005’s Extraordinary Machine.
Seattle radio station 107.7 The End premiered the song, which is featured on the upcoming tribute album Rave On Buddy Holly, and the tune has now showed up on the web. The record, out June 28, also features the Black Keys, She & Him, Modest Mouse, and other big names reworking the rock n’ roll legend’s hits.
Since Apple’s next album was thought to come out in the spring, it’s unclear as to when we’ll hear more from her. For now, this soothing cover of a classic does just fine.

Nicki Minaj will not open for Britney Spears on the European leg of the 'Femme Fatale' tour.
Spears confirmed in April that Minaj would join Nero and Jessie and the Toy Boys as support acts on her North American concerts, which kick off on June 16 in Sacramento, CA.
Minaj revealed last week that she is currently spending much of her time preparing for the opening night of the 'Femme Fatale' tour, promising fans that she will "incorporate theatre and dance" into her performances. The 'Moment 4 Life' rapper has taken to her official Facebook page to insist that she has no plans to stay on when Spears travels to Europe in the autumn. She wrote: "Sorry barbz, contrary to the recent reports, I will NOT be supporting Britney outside of the US on this tour."
Minaj recently revealed that she plans to launch her own headlining 'Pink Friday' tour in 2012.

Salt Lake City wants to put a black wrapper on NBC’s new drama series The Playboy Club.
The NBC affiliate in Utah announced on its Web site that it won’t air the new drama series this fall. The decision “is based on the station’s long-term policy to screen programming for material which significant portions of our audience may find objectionable.”
The station’s president and CEO Mark Willes said Playboy is not a match for the station’s brand. “The Playboy brand is known internationally. Everyone is clear what it stands for,” he said in a statement. “We want to be sure everyone is clear what the KSL brand stands for, which is completely inconsistent with the Playboy brand.”
The station owner said he’ll work with NBC to find ways for the show to be seen in Salt Lake City “on another channel.”

We didn't want to believe it when we heard the news yesterday, but Backstreets has confirmed through independent sources that Clarence Clemons has suffered a massive stroke. After two subsequent brain surgeries at a Florida hospital, the good news is that Clarence is currently responsive and in stable condition, though still in a fight for his life. "If anyone can pull off the miracle, it's him," says a close friend. "He's fought back from so much before."
The latest out of Florida has Clarence Clemons in better condition than anyone expected, a close friend tells Backstreets: "Yesterday, it did not look good at all. Today... miracles are happening. His vital signs are improving. He's responsive. His eyes are welling up when we're talking to him. He was paralyzed on his left side, but now he's squeezing with his left hand. This is the best news we've heard since [the stroke] happened — it's nothing short of miraculous. The next five days will still be critical. But he's a fighter."

Buckingham's last two albums, 2008's "Gift of Screws" and 2006's "Under the Skin," were released by Warner Music Group's Reprise Records. "Under the Skin" was Buckingham's first solo release in 14 years.
Best known for his work as guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham unveiled a handful of the album's tracks at a concert in April in Los Angeles that will be broadcast on television in the fall. He was recently honored with ASCAP's Golden Note Award.
"This might be the best work I've ever done," Buckingham said of the new album. "I think it's an excellent representation of what I do. It shows a certain maturity and musicianship and I just feel like I have a lot of tools in my musical vocabulary from which to draw that are again the product of the choices I've made. It's on my own terms. This is very much from the inside out and I hope I never stop doing that."

Tracy Morgan has had a long week. The '30 Rock' star got himself into some deep trouble with comments he made last week about gay people during a stand-up routine. As Tracy's first big break was a spot on Russell Simmons Presents Def Comedy Jam, it is no surprise that the "godfather of hip-hop" reached out to the funnyman to check in with his long-time friend. With both of their permission, we give you the full transcript of their conversation.
Russell Simmons: I've known you since the beginning of your career and have always thought you were one of the funniest guys in the game. Ever since I saw you on Def Comedy Jam, I knew you were going to be extraordinarily successful. But, I gotta be honest, I was quite disappointed when I read about your comments you made about having a gay son and about gay people in general.
Tracy Morgan: I guess the reason I am successful is because I am so unfiltered. And sometimes as a result I say really stupid shit. The truth is if I had a gay son, I would love him just as much as if he was straight ... I might have to try to love even more because I know of the difficulty that he would have in society.
Russell: Having fought for decades for the gay community in their struggle to be treated fairly and with dignity, I think you know you crossed the line. However, I know you...I know you very well. And I know that deep down inside there is no hate in your heart.
Tracy: Of all the sicknesses, there is probably none more abusive than homophobia. My heart is committed to giving everyone the same rights that I deserve for myself. I don't care if you love the same sex as long as you have the ability to love someone. Also, you should have the right no matter who you are to protect and serve our country. I am deeply sorry for the comments I made. What I am most sad about is the comments I made about kids and bullying. I would never want any young person to think that I wasn't on their side and if any young person thinks they can bully a young gay kid, come see me at 30 Rock. On the corner, I would be happy to meet you. Or Brooklyn if you can't make it into Manhattan.
Russell: One thing that has bothered me a little bit is the fact that a lot of people are trying to defend you. I don't think you needed anyone's help in your defense -
Tracy: When all of this set in, I realized how hurtful my words were. Not asking anyone to feel sorry for me or pity me, but I definitely don't want or need people to defend me. In my heart, I know that the words I used are indefensible. I appreciate the love from my friends and fans, but I was wrong. Period. Now, I just gotta think of some funny shit, not some shit that gets me knocked upside my head.
Russell: What about those that have been making threats that if you don't do this, or if you don't do that, there will be severe consequences to your career?
Tracy: This is not about any intimidation, this is about what's right.
Russell: Well, I love you man. You have entertained us for a long time and I know you are sincerely sorry. I will always support you, cause we need big mouths in the gay rights movement. Especially this week, as we try to get gay marriage passed in New York.
Tracy: Thanks Russ for the support. I believe everyone deserves the right to be happy and marry who they want too; gay, white, black, male or female. Let me know where the rally's at Russ. I'm there!…GO KNICKS!
HBO’s Game of Thrones, FX’s Justified and NBC’s Parks and Recreation topped the Television Critics’ Association’s 27th annual awards with four nominations apiece.

While it was looking a little dodgy there for a second, AMC has officially renewed its murder mystery The Killing for a second season, according to Entertainment Weekly. The Killing, which has already become an awards favorite and debuted to great reviews, stars Mireille Enos as Detective Sarah Linden who is in charge of one last investigation before packing up and moving to Sonoma. It also stars Brent Sexton, Billy Campbell, and Michelle Forbes, who has some serious Emmy buzz around her turn as grieving mother Mitch Larsen.
I'm a little uncertain how to feel about the renewal of The Killing. I've been enjoying the show and I think it's well done, but I don't know how it'll translate into a second season. The show that The Killing is based on, Forbrydelsen, ran for another season and if the changes applied to that show are also applied to The Killing, I think it has the possibility of working. Regardless of what changes will be made, I think as long as you have the fantastically moody atmosphere of the Pacific northwest and the pensive performance of Mireille Enos, a second season of The Killing will be a deadly good time.
Are you happy that The Killing was renewed? Where do you think they'll go for a second season? What do you expect from the finale next Sunday?
Source: TV Overmind
I'm glad it got renewed. I do like the show, and I like the Linden/Holder partnership. Just hoping they tighten up the story next time, don't leave everything to the last minute.
Lifetime's hit series "Drop Dead Diva" returns for its third season this week, picking up right after last season's huge cliffhanger. Angelina Jolie photographed by Annie Leibovitz for Louis Vuitton.
She’s barefoot, wearing her own clothes, no makeup and toting her own elegantly weathered monogrammed Alto bag. Yet Angelina Jolie looks radiant and completely in her element, reclining on a wooden boat in a verdant, lakeside landscape in Cambodia’s Siem Reap province. Jolie discovered the country in 2000 when she filmed “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” and it sparked her humanitarian activism.
She’s the latest celebrity to pose for Louis Vuitton’s popular “Core Values” campaign — and surely the only one who brought four children to the photo shoot, some of whom had to be shooed out of Annie Leibovitz’s frame.
“People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation,” said Pietro Beccari, Vuitton’s executive vice president, unveiling the image exclusively to WWD. “I like the fact that it’s a real moment. This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand.”
The ad is slated to break in the International Herald Tribune on Wednesday, followed by a range of news, general interest and lifestyle publications, including Vanity Fair.
Beccari declined to disclose budgets for the media buy, or comment on reports Vuitton paid the American actress millions for the shoot. He would only say Jolie donated an undisclosed portion of her fees to a charity.
The campaign is expected to run for at least 18 months alongside a few other recent “core values” personalities, including Bono and Sean Connery. Vuitton introduced the advertising concept in 2007 as a way to trumpet its travel roots and showcase its perennial monogrammed leather goods as a balance to its fashion-driven marketing — and to reach a broader audience. Other personalities who have posed for Vuitton include Mikhail Gorbachev, Keith Richards and Catherine Deneuve.
Also on Wednesday, Vuitton plans to post a teaser on its Web site, louisvuittonjourneys.com/cambodia, foreshadowing an interview with Jolie that will be posted later in the month. In it, she is expected to discuss how her visit to Cambodia was a life-changing experience, awakening her to the plight of Third World countries. She adopted her eldest son, Maddox, from Cambodia and she and husband Brad Pitt established the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which is active in community development and conservation in the country.
“This campaign is about a very special person and a very special journey,” Beccari said.
And a storied handbag. Beccari showed off several paparazzi shots of Jolie toting the Alto carryall, which is believed to be at least six years old. The style is no longer in production, but “we are considering to re-edit it,” Beccari noted.
I just started watching the show a few weeks ago and I love it already. And excuse me while I continue to flail over the "We're having a baby" line from Marshall. Why are he and Mary not together yet?
There has been fresh heartbreak for Disney star Demi Lovato -- her mom was admitted to rehab and the star has now split from boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.
Actress and singer Lovato last November admitted herself to an Illinois clinic for treatment for "emotional and physical" issues, and during that time her mom, Dianna Hart de la Garza, was a constant support.
But sources tell us de la Garza, a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, was recently forced to get treatment herself and was admitted to rehab at an undisclosed location.
A source told us, "It has been a tough year for Demi, and her mom has been a constant source of support. But fame has also taken its toll on her family. Now [that] Demi is strong again, her mom could take some time to deal with her own issues."
It's believed that de la Garza has completed treatment and is back with her family.
Last month Lovato, who had the words "Stay Strong" tattoed on her wrists after her treatment -- which reportedly was for eating disorders and cutting -- revealed that her mother surprised her by getting a matching tattoo. "My mom surprised me with it when I was in treatment," Demi tweeted. "And she wanted to show me how proud she was of me for getting help and changing my life . . . I love her so much."
"Sonny With a Chance" star Lovato, 18, whose new album is out in the fall, dated 31-year-old "That '70s Show" star Valderrama -- who once dated Lindsay Lohan -- before and after completing her treatment in late January. They were spotted in February on a movie date and shopping for food, according to reports.
But sources tell us they have now decided to split, adding, "The age difference meant they were in completely different places in their lives."
A rep for Lovato said, "We do not comment on her personal life."

SOURCE I feel for the guy but god why has it taking him that long? I hope that Kelly does what is best for herself.
A quartet of teenage girls was onstage at the Knitting Factory, the New York club. Playing guitars and wearing mini-skirts, they did a tuneful pop cover of "I Wish I Was Him," written about the 1990s alt-rock heartthrob Evan Dando and given a generational flip by these long-haired 14- and 15-year-olds who called themselves Toy Sugar. Kathleen Hanna performed the song first, in 1994, when, as the frontwoman for the punk band Bikini Kill and a founder of the feminist riot grrrl movement, she made it her business to overturn gender norms in a way that you could sing, or scream, along to.
It was the "I'm dead but I'm not dead, concert," as she put it later. But then, the complications of aging and self-assessment have always been a part of the riot grrrl movement. When it took hold in the early and mid 1990s, driven by bands from Olympia, Wash., like Bratmobile and Heavens to Betsy it represented a new kind of youthful, DIY feminism, a grass-roots uprising aimed less at liberating women from the institutions that oppressed them than inviting women to create new ones.
"A boy-girl revolution," Hanna sang, that allowed women to be sexually free and simultaneously open about harassment and sexual assault, that encouraged them in pursuits traditionally thought of as male, like dancing in the mosh pit or thrashing on guitar, without having to give up their spirited girly-ness. Bopping around stages, high ponytail bouncing, Hanna became the face of this movement, which was small and short-lived but had a lasting effect on female-centric music and cultural critique.
Now, two decades after its heyday, riot grrrl is beginning to formally take stock of itself. Last year, Hanna and members of bands like Bratmobile donated personal papers, letters, zines, images and journals to the Fales Collection at New York University's Bobst Library for its new riot grrrl archive. The movement's underpinnings were also mined in "Girls to the Front: The True Story of the Riot Grrrl Revolution," Sara Marcus' recent, copiously researched book. On Tuesday, Oscilloscope Laboratories will release "Who Took the Bomp?", a Le Tigre concert film, on DVD; it chronicles a 2004 tour in which the bandmates — Hanna, Johanna Fateman and JD Samson — grapple with marketing feminism and sexuality, a faltering music industry and the rigors of being on the road.Source: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/entertainment/2015228598_riotgrrrls05.html
"I think Lady Gaga, as an artist you know, she’s undeniable, you know. That was one of them things where sometimes I get a joke in my head and I kinda want to share it with the world, you know what I’m saying. So it was just one of them things man, and it’s you know it’s all in fun, it’s hip hop. It is what it is, but as far as an artist, she’s dope, she’s an incredible talent."

ugh, he's so gross. no sympathy for him.
A month ago Kreayshawn was the girl "cooking" and partaking in other recreational activities with Lil B the Based God in a random online video (they're listening to Soulja Boy's "Dat Piff," naturally). And honestly, unless you were from the Bay Area, hung out around Fairfax in Los Angeles or had your finger on the pulse of underground hip-hop, you probably didn't know her name. That quickly changed about four weeks ago when she dropped the video for her song "Gucci Gucci."
The video featured the pint-size, Bay Area rapper performing alongside Odd Future's Left Brain, Jasper Dolphin and many of their friends, at OF's stomping grounds on L.A.'s Fairfax Avenue. At a house party, she's seen rapping about the swag dripping out her "ovaries." The video soon made her an instant sensation on several blogs and eventually earned the interest of several record labels.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Kreayshawn had signed with Columbia Records. MTV News caught up with one-third of the White Girl Mob on Thursday afternoon, and she said the deal offered her an incredible amount of artistic freedom, which she was already enjoying.
"Columbia was the best because they were like, 'We want to do exactly what you've been doing.' I've been directing music videos, so they're like, 'We want you to keep doing that.' I do a little graphic design, and they had me make my logo. The music that I'm making — 'Gucci Gucci' — [is] going to be the single that they push," Kreayshawn told us( Collapse )
She's so cute. Kreayshawn be taking ova!
Independent production company Wentertainment Productions is making a low budget independent film starring Glee's Harry Shum Jr., Joan Chen (Josie freakin' Packard from Twin Peaks, Lust Caution), BD Wong (Mulan, Law & Order: SVU), and comedian Margaret Cho (All American Girl). The film will be directed by Quentin Lee.
White Frog follows Nick Young, a sweet Asian-American teenager with mild Asperger’s, who loses his “perfect” older brother Chaz in a car crash. In order to stay connected to Chaz, Nick digs deeper into his dead brother’s life and uncovers secrets about his older brother that threaten to tear the Young family apart.
Harry Shum will star as Nick's older brother, Chaz. Their parents will be played by Joan Chen and B.D. Wong. Margaret Cho will play Nick's favorite and openly gay teacherm Mrs. Lee. They are currently in the casting process for the main character, Nick Young.
Selena Gomez has explained what landed her in the hospital last week and forced her to pull out of a previously scheduled promotional appearance for her upcoming film, "Monte Carlo.
"I was very malnourished," Selena told Access Hollywood on Monday as she made an appearance at the Santa Monica Place Center Plaza in Santa Monica, Calif., as she promoted her new film and performed with her band, The Scene.

"The Three Stooges" were never what you'd call highbrow. But who the heck cares? The characters remain enduring symbols of slapstick comedy.
Now, after many delays, the Farrelly brothers are making a "Stooges" film with three relative unknowns in the title roles. On-set pictures of the actors lit up the Web as folks got their first glimpse of Curly in costume.
Played by Will Sasso, perhaps best known for his work on "MADtv," Curly has always been a popular stooge (we mean that as a compliment). His phrase "nyuk-nyuk-nyuk" and his tendency to slap his own head have been imitated by countless comedians.
So how does Sasso look? Longtime fans of the character will be relieved to see that Sasso is the spitting image of the original Curly, played by the late, great Jerry Horwitz. Only time will tell if Sasso "acts" like Curly, but there can be no doubt that he looks the part.
A post from Screen Rant agrees, after seeing the snapshots: "From some of the close-ups, it looks like the Farrelly brothers and their team have done a nice job."
A commenter on the Entertainment Weekly's Inside Movies blog had some reservations of style winning over substance: "Hmmm he’s got the look down but that is just window dressing, what really counts is if he can actually act like Curly." Others gave the casting choice a thumb's up: "Will Sasso was hilarious over many seasons on MAD TV - he is funny and fearless." Another added, "This is pitch-perfect casting." A third added, and we quote, "Will Sasso to us MadTV fans is the shiznizle!. Can't wait to see him knock it out of the park!"

The “Just Dance” diva donned a green wig underneath a black hat with a black and white ensemble that highlighted her cleavage.

Wayne Coyne & Flaming Lips channel their inner Pink Floyd
By CHUCK MYERS
WASHINGTON - You could say that in some ways the past has caught up with The Flaming Lips.
After the Lips' double album "Embryonic" (Warner Bros.) in 2009, the alternative rock band found itself exploring music projects with a distinct throwback flavor.
First came a cover recording of a rock masterpiece, Pink Floyd's 1973 album "The Dark Side of the Moon," in December 2009, which the Lips (guitarist and frontman Wayne Coyne, drummer Steven Drozd, bassist and keyboardist Michael Ivins, percussionist Kliph Scurlock, guitarist and keyboardist Derek Brown) produced in collaboration with guest artists.

I wish I was not so broke. I really want to go to the 15th and 17th show.
The blog Stuck in the ’80s says it is. I had to double-check the date on the post just to make sure it wasn’t an old April Fool’s joke just now making the Internet rounds, but no – Steve Spears says Ferris Bueller 2: Another Day Off is the real deal. It seems Ferris has made a mint on motivational speaking, but wealth isn’t making him happy. What he needs is – yep, you guessed it – another day off.
Screenwriter Rick Rapier has been trying to sell his screenplay for the past few years, but says in the past few months “Big name production companies that have first-look production deals with Paramount are reading the script,” meaning Ferris Part Two could feasibly see the light of day. Some blogs seem to think Rapier is, um, exaggerating slightly about the Hollywood insider interest in the movie.
What do you think??

TOUGH-talking chart-topper Ke$ha might have the pop world at her feet - but men are still intimidated by the wild star.
The US singer has become an inspiration to young fans and is famous for her outspoken attitude.
But Ke$ha, 24, tells Rated: "I was the gawky kid at school. It's empowering for me and all the girls who aren't beauty queens or cheerleaders to see someone succeed by being strong and opinionated."
"It's important to show that women can be so much more than sex objects - you'll never see me just sitting there looking pretty. Maybe some guys are put off from approaching me because I intimidate them but, if so, good. Guys should be scared of me!"
"I realise I polarise opinions, but you can either join my party or f*** off, because I'm not going anywhere."
One guy who did approach Ke$ha was British pop star Calvin Harris, when she supported Rihanna on an Australian tour in March. Just the mention of his name brings the motormouth singer to a dead stop and a sweet smile steals across her face. They reportedly spent the night together after a show in Melbourne. Ke$ha says coyly: "You'd have to ask Calvin about it, I don't remember a thing about that night."
