One does not simply walk into... Neverland?

Aaron Eckhart, Sean Bean and AnnaSophia Robb Join Dark ‘Peter Pan’ Project

Ben Hibon will direct the story from a screenplay by Ben Magid in which Eckhart plays Hook, the Captain Hook character reimagined as a tormented former detective on the trail of a childlike kidnapper. Robb, riding high following the solid recent launch of Soul Surfer, will portray Wendy, the lone survivor who leaves an asylum to help in the hunt.

Sean Bean has been cast as Smee, the chief detective and Hook’s only ally on the force. Essential Entertainment expects to kick off pre-sales in Cannes this week ahead of an October start in Eastern Europe.

Sentient’s Renee Tab and Social Capital’s Christopher Tuffin and Martin Shore are producing alongside Energy Entertainment’s Brooklyn Weaver. Molinare’s Andrew Boswell will serve as a co-producer and Molinarie and Social Capital are jointly financing and producing.

Meet Your New Disney Channel Star, America

Disney is prepping a new tween queen, and this time, it's gonna be different! Oh, China Anne McClain, all we can say is: good freakin' luck.

This breathless profile of the 12-year-old up-and-comer positions her as some kind of impervious talent machine. "Gary Marsh, the president of entertainment for Disney Channel, said that his gut told him that Ms. McClain would be different," although it's not clear why exactly that would be. "Her parents are also warm and loving and caring and involved," Marsh told the Times. "You would be shocked to know how often the opposite is true."

Well, not if the Grey Lady's profiles of these teen-girl stars are any indication.

Miley Cyrus, everyone's favorite poster child for the fallen tween idol, was the subject of just such an article herself back in 2006, which praised her parents for being "grounded role-models." Miranda Cosgrove, who is tragically turning 18 soon and will therefore be too ancient to appreciate, is a "good girl" whose parents admirably attempt to "maintain a normal life," and even Vanessa Hudgens was in 2009. McClain is unusually talented? That's what the Times said about Demi Lovato in 2009. Somehow, Selena Gomez has evaded coverage.

So, China Ann McClain, good luck with your Disney Channel show A.N.T.. If history is any indication, you have a few years of glowing coverage ahead of you, some kind of scandal in which you're perceived as overly sexual, and then it's time for another profile of another tender sweet young thing that somehow paints you as a tragic figure in the tween canon. Enjoy childhood fame while it lasts!

Angry Boys Extended Trailer + Racial Controversy

Chris Lilley is set to spark controversy in his new comedy show Angry Boys, with characters defecating on cars and racist slurs rife.

But the star makes no apologies for the provocative content in the mockumentary series.

Lilley, who enjoyed a ratings smash with Summer Heights High, is most likely to face a racism backlash from his new show.

Lilley plays six characters, and it is granny Ruth Sims, a worker at a juvenile justice centre, who dishes the dirt in the early episodes.

"Get your lazy Abo a... off the couch," she says to one young detainee.

During a soccer match, she shouts: "Kick it negro ... Come on Coco Pops, I thought wogs were meant to be good at soccer."

The other characters are twins Daniel and Nathan Sims, who featured in Lilley's series We Can Be Heroes, black rapper S.Mouse, surfer dude Blake Oakfield and hard-nosed Japanese mum Jen Okazaki - mother of a "gay" skateboarding champion.

Lilley says he is trying to make audiences laugh and confront prejudices.

"To me it's very clear this character (Gran) is from another generation and is getting away with horrific things. Her behaviour is not appropriate. To me, that's so blatantly obvious that it's really funny."

Lilley says he is not worried about criticism: "I make it for the people who love it and get it."

Angry Boys, three years in the making and also filmed in Japan and the US, premieres on ABC1 on May 11.

Interview with John Noble

Since his first role in 1988’s The Dreaming, John Noble has often played characters confronting the astounding and impossible. He’s perhaps most famous for his performance in the final two Lord Of The Rings films as Denethor, a ruler crippled by madness, doubt, and the influence of evil elements. Noble’s work there led to plenty of other parts, and he soon found a niche starring in TV series popular with genre fans, including guest-star performances in Stargate SG-1 and 24. He then landed his current role on Fringe, for which he’s received widespread acclaim, even from some who don’t usually enjoy science-fiction series. He plays Dr. Walter Bishop, a man driven mad by guilt and grief who may be the only thing standing between our universe and the dissolution planned by a version of Walter from an alternate universe (known as the Walternate on the show). Noble recently talked with The A.V. Club about whether Walter and Walternate are two different people, how he got the role, and his part in the highly anticipated upcoming videogame L.A. Noire. Spoilers for the third-season finale of Fringe—which airs tonight (Friday, May 6) at 8 p.m. EST—are present in one answer, but they’re clearly marked.

Princess Diana Death Photo to Debut at Cannes

A documentary about the death of Princess Diana will debut next week at the Cannes Film Festival—and will feature a graphic paparazzi photo of the princess as she lay dying after a car crash in Paris.

Unlawful Killing (a leaked excerpt without death photos is above) provides an "inquest of the inquest" into Diana's death, actor and filmmaker Keith Allen explains in a column for the Guardian. It is a conspiracy theory.

Unlawful Killing is not about a conspiracy before the crash, but a provable conspiracy after the crash. A conspiracy organised not by a single scheming arch-fiend, but collectively by the British establishment—judges, lawyers, politicians, police chiefs, secret services, even newspaper editors—all of whom have been appointed to their positions because they are "a safe pair of hands." Just as compass needles all point north without being told to, so these people instinctively know what is expected of them when the state's interests are under threat and they act accordingly, quietly suppressing uncomfortable evidence or undermining the credibility of witnesses whose evidence contradicts the official narrative.

The death image was among the documents used during the official inquest—but even then it was deemed too graphic to appear unedited, and was pixelated.

Among Allen's financial backers is Mohamed Al-Fayed, the father of Diana's boyfriend Dodi, who also died in the car crash.
A wealthy businessman and former owner of Harrods, Al-Fayed is famously suspicious about his son's death; in 1998 he accused Tony Blair of helping the royal "Dracula family" murder Diana and Dodi.

Unlawful Killing features interviews with Al-Fayed as well as respected journalists like Piers Morgan, Kitty Kelley, and, uh, Howard Stern. Allen claims he can't air the film in England because legal restrictions (anti-paparazzi laws?) would have required too many edits.

Bristol Palin says she had corrective jaw surgery

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Bristol Palin admits her recent change in appearance was due to a procedure — but not plastic surgery.

The 20-year-old daughter of 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin tells Us Weekly that she underwent corrective jaw surgery in December, a month after she finished third on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." Her face now appears thinner, with higher cheekbones and an angular jaw.

The new look, complete with Palin losing 5 pounds, was unveiled April 30 at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington, D.C.

"Yes, it improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons," she told the magazine for its May 23 issue, which will be on newsstands Friday.

Palin said she had the procedure so her jaw and teeth could properly realign.

NeNe Leakes: Celebrity Apprentice Was 'Toxic' for Me

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
NeNe Leakes never had second thoughts about quitting Celebrity Apprentice. It all just got to be too much, she says.

"I don't regret it. I felt very good about it. I always do what my gut tells me to do," the Real Housewives of Atlanta star says in an interview airing Wednesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

She adds: "I'm a grown woman, and nobody makes decisions for me. I make my own decisions. It was a toxic situation for me."

Particularly poisonous, of course, was her feud with Star Jones. In an episode two weeks ago, Leakes unloaded on Jones in front of a client, then walked off the show. She doesn't regret that either, but admits it didn't need to get that ugly.

"I needed to get it out," she says. "I wish I could have maybe had a different delivery, maybe better word choices, but I'm OK with it. I felt she deserved it. I know everybody in Hollywood knows I'm telling the truth [about Jones]."

Of course, things evened out this past week, when Donald Trump fired Jones. "When I said on the show yesterday that Star got fired, there were applauses in the audience," says DeGeneres. "People were thrilled that Star got fired."

To which Leakes replies: "Yeah, let's clap about it."

Real Housewives' Taylor Armstrong, Hubby Secretly Separate

(mods, ignore the other post. i hit enter by accident)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Taylor Armstrong has finally left her icy husband, Russell.

A source tells the new issue of Us Weekly that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has secretly separated from her banker husband of seven years.

"They've had huge marital problems related to finances," the insider says of the pair, who were seen together with daughter Kennedy, 5, at a May 7 Lollipop Theater Network event in Burbank, Calif.

The couple's marital problems are nothing new: Bravo viewers watched them bicker constantly during the show's first season, and Taylor even likened their marriage to a business arrangement.

Still, the recent split is taking a physical toll on Taylor. "She's emaciated -- down 10, 15 pounds," a source tells Us.

The Real Housewives drama doesn't end there. New cast member Brandi Glanville, 38 -- Eddie Cibrian's ex -- and Kyle Richards, 42, have been "going at it" since filming began on season 2. "They got into a fight and Brandi lunged at Kyle," a source says. "They had to be separated by producers."

New Hugh Jackman "Real Steel" Trailer

The second trailer for "Real Steel" has hit the web, and if the first trailer showed us just how action packed the movie will be, then this one proves to us that the flick will also have heart. And, honestly, when you have a movie centered on boxing robots, a little bit of heart is a very good thing.

In this case, that happy bubbly feeling inside your chest stems from Dakota Goyo, who plays Max, the son of Hugh Jackman's character who finds the robot the gang train to fight. Also rounding out their happy family is "Lost" star Evangeline Lilly, who we're just happy to see back in fighting-fit Kate form. Two of Lilly's previous costars ("Hurt Locker" actor Anthony Mackie as a boxing promoter and fellow "Lost" vet Kevin Durand as a character named Ricky) are in the film as well, but the spotlight is on Jackman taking on his first action flick lead since "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." The bottom line: we're excited.

It helps that the robots look pretty darn cool in "Real Steel," and that the fighting looks to be realistic and intense. In fact, the movie looks to combine many of the cinematic elements American audiences love most: sports movies, family dramas and fighting robots. Now it makes a bit more sense why a "Real Steel" sequel is already in the works, right?

Amber Rose in King Magazine

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
What do you think is the perception of Amber Rose?
I spoke to people, asking why do I constantly get ridiculed. Is it because I was a stripper?

Well that doesn’t help that perception much.
But they said, “No, people don’t care about that, it’s that they think that you’re with all these men, when you’re not.” I’m only taking that from certain people that I spoke to. Maybe it’s that too, or that I’m very comfortable with my body. I can be topless on Miami Beach, that doesn’t make me a whore. That’s an everyday thing on Miami Beach. It’s just such a big deal because I’m in the public eye.

If you’re cognizant of these things, why go from one public relationship into another one with Wiz Khalifa?
Let’s put it like this, I promised myself that I would never in my life ever again deal with a man in the music industry…ever!

Jenna Ushkowitz: "Glee Death Affects Everyone"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Glee actress Jenna Ushkowitz has spoken about the pending death of a character on the hit US TV show, stating that it will "affect everyone."

Last month, Ushkowitz's fellow Gleek Matthew Morrison confirmed to E! Online there would be a death in an upcoming episode of the show, claiming that the person who passes away is "no-one that you would probably expect."

Jenna - who plays Tina-Cohen Chang - has revealed more details regarding the death, explaining that while the scenes are incredibly sad, she thinks fans of the Fox series will "appreciate" how the events are portrayed.

The star told "You know it was really, really sad. Any kind of death is sad and it brings you back to a place you don't really want to go. So it kind of affects everybody"

"It was really hard but the episode is done really, really well. It was really sweet and I think people will appreciate it. It was done in the right way. I think they'll be sad but I think they'll feel for the characters who will be affected by it."

She added: "Any death, and especially on 'Glee' [since] you don't expect something like that so for that to happen... I think fans will be shocked a little bit, and not expect anything at all... I think fans will like it."

It is thought the episode, entitled Funeral, will be screened before the season finale.

Jillian Michaels Making Headway in Congo Adoption

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels is one step closer to gaining a child. The 37-year-old, who told Women's Health last spring that she was looking to adopt ("I can't handle doing that to my body," she said of bearing children), has recently filed paperwork with Congo adoption authorities.

"My dossier, which is your paperwork portfolio, is in to the Democratic Republic of the Congo," she tells Us Weekly. "So the paperwork is done, and now it's just a waiting game. It could be six months, twelve months; it could be two years. Or, it could be tomorrow! They call you and they say, 'Oh, we have your referral,' which is essentially the child they match you up with, and you go overseas and you get him or her."

Michaels already has a full plate as it is: After departing The Biggest Loser in December, she'll join the panel of The Doctors and serve as a correspondent on Dr. Phil.

Seth Gabel to Be a Fringe Series Regular

Looks like someone’s going to take advantage of that fancy new “bridge” between universes next season on Fringe — and that someone is Seth Gabel!

Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that the actor — who has recurred the last two seasons as Bolivia’s “Over There” colleague, Lincoln Lee — will return in Season 4 as a full-fledged series regular.

In a March episode, viewers finally met Linc’s “Over Here” doppelganger — a mild-mannered FBI desk jockey. But I think it’s safe to say it’s the immensely popular alt-Linc who will be the version we see more of come fall.
This marks Gabel’s first full-time series gig since he starred as silver-spooned brat Jeremy Darling on ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Fringe fans will greet this news with open and loving arms. Feel free to back me up on that in the comments.

Nice! Now just bring back Charlie as a regular, and I'll be completely happy!

Hollywood Reporter goes behind the scenes of Glee's season finale

You could say Glee's Season 2 finale, airing May 24, has been two years in the making. After all, it was always co-creator Ryan Murphy's intention to shepherd his freakishly talented group of misfits to meet their destiny: the fictitious national glee club championships in New York. And like the Fox show's characters, who devour Manhattan in a frenetic first-timer's visit, Glee hit NYC over five days in April with the sort of precision you might expect of a commando military mission: 10 moving targets, including Times Square and Central Park, which serve as part of the glee club's life-changing tour of the city. The episode ends with the climactic competition and a death -- victim as yet unknown ...

Even with the franchise ambitiously expanding into 3D movies, a national tour and an Oxygen reality series (The Glee Project), it was the L.A.-based show's first major location shoot, and pulling it off took the proverbial village. Forty of its 175-person crew were flown east, including executive producers Murphy, Ian Brennan, Brad Falchuk (who directs) and Dante Di Loreto, as well as first assistant director Leo Bauer and most of the cast. Local crew swelled Glee's ranks to over 100. Price tag: $6 million. A hefty budget even for a show that this season averaged an impressive 3.9 rating in the coveted 18 to 49 demo.

The result is, as Murphy describes it, "a place of possibilities -- the New York you dream of." The production also found a way to reference the city's iconic imagery from such classics as On the Town, Hair and Taxi Driver, but with legions of Gleeks at every location, the shoot became more like a post-modern version of the Beatles fandom flick A Hard Day's Night. Grab your earplugs …

Alex McCord: Bethenny Has Nothing to Do with New Attitude

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
So where exactly did Alex McCord's bring-it-on mindset come from? Don't look at her partner in crime last season, Bethenny Frankel.

"My metamorphosis, if you want to call it that, had nothing to do with anything other than my being fed up," the Real Housewives of New York City star spills to TVGuide about her newfound assertiveness. "In the real world, it might be enough to think someone's an idiot. But on reality TV, you sort of have to beat them over the head with it. Otherwise, they don't know." Fair enough.

Viewers may be surprised to see a tougher side of Alex (no, we're not referring to that "S&M" dress) but her inner circle's already used to it. "I've always been empowered. It's just that now you're seeing it on TV," she tells the mag.

Does this mean last year's notorious "mean girl" Jill Zarin should be shaking in her Louboutins? Alex isn't naming names about who she'll clash with the hardest, but the Brooklynite describes the New York ladies overall as "one dysfunctional sorority. It's Kappa Kappa Housewives."

Katie Holmes hires stepdaughter Bella as her new fashion apprentice

Actress-turned-fashion designer Katie Holmes has enlisted some help with her blossoming clothing line Holmes & Yang from someone close-to-home.

She has hired her 18-year-old stepdaughter Bella Cruise, the adopted daughter of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, as an intern at the company, the actor has revealed.

'Kate’s designing and [Bella] is just working her way up,' Mission: Impossible star Tom told People magazine at the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance National Tribute Dinner in Beverly Hills last week.

'She’s an artist, Bella, so it’s really great that she gets to work with it,' he added.

'She’s loving it.'

The young budding designer just returned from a trip to New York, where she was being shown the ropes of the growing company.

'This is my wife’s company, so you talk about movie sets with me, I can tell you [about] that,' he joked with a laugh.

'You’ve got to go to all these different factories and verify and make sure you get the correct clothes,' he said. When asked if he was proud of his daughters talents and aspirations, he responded: 'I am! It’s wonderful!'

Katie Holmes' clothing line was launched in May 2011 in collaboration with designer Jeanne Yang.

'We just wanted to do comfortable clothes that you can wear going from a meeting to being a mom to going on a date,' Katie said of the collection at the time admitting that her daughter and Jeanne's two daughters had been a large inspiration.

ONTD Exclusive: Hunger Games info dump

In a talk to a class of college students I am in, producer Allison Thomas made an off-handed comment about the length of the books. A student had asked about whether material from Catching Fire and Mockingjay will make it into the Hunger Games film, and Thomas replied that Mockingjay will be two films, "like everyone else is doing now..." because of the amount of material that is in the book, and that the Hunger Games works wonderfully as a stand-alone work because it has conclusion.

She also defended the decision to cast Jennifer Lawrence, saying that Jennifer has a grounded personality and a really down to earth, real quality that they really wanted, and no one else who auditioned came even close. At that point it's more important to cast the best actor and deal with hair dye and make up, rather than get someone that you can't completely trust in for the role.
The rest of the info I got out of this class in bullet points:
- Also, the choice to cast slightly older is a budgetary issue and not an artistic decision, because to cast the main cast under 16 would have increased the budget by $3-4 million.
- The song/lullaby that Katniss sings for Rue has been written by Tbone and one other artist whose name I did not catch, and that during rehearsal yesterday, everyone was crying, and Jennifer Lawrence said that she's never cried during acting work before but she did over this song.
- Jennifer Lawrence is going through intense archery training right now for the film.
- The reason Hunger Games is going forward so much faster than books like, say, Ender's Game, is because the violence happens to older kids. And they aren't killing each other while being 6-year-old. Well duh.
- She also went along with the Twilight bashing that goes on in this class but I probably shouldn't' post about it because she is a nice person and probably doesn't expect this conversation to be posted to the Internet.
- She admitted the crew rushed out to see Battle Royale because people kept telling them Hunger Games is so like it.
- She had tons of praise for the actors for Gale and Peeta as well, not just Jen Lawrence. She also had a humorous story about the recording of audio with Stanley Tucci for Tales of Despereaux--apparently for the food fight in the beginning they had real food props and things in the studio with all the actors to help out with the acting, and one of the props plopped right into Stanley Tucci's coffee and splashed all over him, and being a consummate theater actor, Tucci just went right on with the next line but everyone else was collapsing in laughter.
- Suzanne Collins was pressured by her company to make Mockingjay two books because it's so packed, and to do a more complete story, but she refused, saying she is done with it and she's moving on to other stuff.

- The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins is never going to be made into a film. Suzanne Collins is adamant against selling that option because it is just as violent as HG  but skews younger so would be inappropriate in film.

- For Allison Thomas (producer), Despereaux was about forgiveness, but Hunger Games has to be about the revolution that isn't in this book, but all roads lead to it. Gary (director) is very much about tone and feel, and the look he wants, handheld cameras, running fast, stuff like that. But he's also focusing a lot on tonal, intimate moments between people.

- A lot of the focus on the series is the social and political context, because those will have to make sense for the narrative of this book is to make sense. It also helps that the series is completed, so they will not have the problems that WB had with Harry Potter where they don't know what will happen in the end. The seeds for revolution, the reasons for Hunger Games, the complacency of the Districts that do not revolt... those things from the later books will have to make it in this film in tone in order for this to make sense.
ONTD, what do you think? Mockingjay as two films? Milking the franchise for all its worth? Or a relevant, reasonable decision in the narrative?

Personally I hated Mockingjay so this comes as stupid news. But I'm glad the lullaby is good because that's one of the best parts of the book.

SOURCE is producer Allison Thomas and my notes from class.

Insiders tell me he'd been offered more than $1 million an episode, which is the sort of $25M-a-year payday Grant doesn't get from movies anymore. All along insiders at Warner Bros and CBS had been saying that they were going after "an A-lister" as the new star of the top-rated sitcom after Sheen was fired, and Hugh sure fits the bill. (Let me tell you, I would have watched that show!) CBS has been working hard to announce the return of the show and its new star at next week's upfronts. Maybe Grant will reconsider. Let's hope.

Beyoncé: The Billboard Music Awards Q&A

In the next chapter of her career, Beyoncé certainly seems dedicated to breaking new ground. It takes guts for one of the world's biggest pop stars to release such a stridently unconventional single as the militaristic, beat-driven "Run the World (Girls)," built around a freaky sample from relatively obscure indie favorites Major Lazer's club hit, "Pon de Floor." That's just the first salvo in the unexpected collage of sonic textures and unique song structures on her new album, which features edgy new collaborators like Switch (who makes up half of Major Lazer) along with established hitmakers like The-Dream. "There's nothing safe about it, I know that much," says The-Dream, who cowrote Beyoncé's career-redefining anthem, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," and was called in to help pen the new album's lead single. "That [kind of song treatment] would never happen with any other artist of her stature, male or female."

Braxton Family Values Renewed for Second Season

After only four episodes in on the WE network, it looks like the Braxton family will be on our televisions again for another season. Although I could sometimes go without Tamar’s dramatics, I must say that they all (Toni, Towanda, Trina & Traci) all manage to keep me entertained. I love them all for different reasons. They’ll be taping 13 new episodes of the show and plan on debuting the second season sometime in 2012.

“My Family and I are so grateful for the love and support the fans have for the show.” Said Toni Braxton “We all hoped people could relate to our family dynamic and are thrilled with the positive response we have received. We are all very much looking forward to bringing you another eventful season of Braxton Family Values.”

The show airs on Tuesdays at 9pm. Have you been watching the show? What are your thoughts?

"Teen Mom" Amber Portwood just lost primary custody of her baby daughter ... TMZ has learned.

Custody was awarded to baby daddy Gary Shirley instead -- after an Indiana judge decided he was a more suitable parent ... at least for the time being.

But it wasn't because Amber's an unfit mother -- according to court testimony today, Child Protective Services recommended that Gary have primary custody because of recent vandalism to Amber's house and car.

CPS was nervous about Amber's living conditions -- so both parties agreed it would be best for baby Leah to stay with Gary until further notice.

Amber will have visitation rights -- but we're told, CPS hasn't come up with a schedule yet. So far, no word from Amber's camp.

Well we all know Gary is probably a better parent, but this is still heartbreaking. Poor Ambur is probably going to go on a tanning binge, she has had a rough few weeks.

Chinese Granny Channels Michael Jackson on China's Got Talent

(Skip to 1:00 for the performance!)

First Susan Boyle shocked viewers with her unexpected singing chops on Britain's Got Talent, and now a Beijing woman is creating a viral sensation with dance moves inspired by the King of Pop.

Bai Shuying, 65, wowed the judges and audience alike with her dance tribute to Michael Jackson during the first round of auditions for China's Got Talent earlier this month.

Equipped with the signature white socks peeking between shoes and hem, the spry granny exhibited a loose-limbed exuberance that impressed the judges enough to advance her to the next round. Although her dancing isn't technically accurate, we can't fault her for her spirit, especially when she thrust her hips in victory. She is indeed "Dangerous"!

So check out Bai Shuying (above)! What do you think of her dance skills?

Firth and Blunt to Costar

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Two of my favorite Brits are about to move in together — as a pair of onscreen squatters. Colin Firth and Emily Blunt will star in an untitled dark comedy, in which Firth plays a man who's down on his life and wants to reinvent himself. His family hates him and he hates his job, so he fakes his death and picks up a new identity. Afterward, he meets Blunt's character, a woman who's also looking for a fresh start. Together they break into vacant homes and pose as the owners, eventually becoming friends. So natural is this pairing that I'm surprised it took this long to get them together. Is it too much to ask that they fall in love too?

The Mentalist Finale Preview: Red John Revealed!

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean somebody ain't out to getcha. It might even be several somebodies. In the early months of the CBS hit The Mentalist, it seemed to viewers that Red John, the unseen psychopath who haunts and taunts Simon Baker's character, Patrick Jane, was operating as a solo act. But now, in the show's third season, it is creepily clear this serial killer is part of a larger conspiracy and has several operatives at his command. Red John even has an accomplice actively involved with the California Bureau of Investigation, the very organization that's trying to bring him down.

Fans finally learn the identity of that mole in the May 19 season finale, a two-hour heart-pumper — innocently titled "Strawberries and Cream" — that ends with the unmasking of Red John himself. It's true! Jane finally gets face time with the sicko who slew his wife and daughter many years ago, and that confrontation will change the course of the series in a seismic way.

JGL interview

In person, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is unfailingly polite, well-spoken, and considerate ... and it almost cost him the starring role in his new movie Hesher. Director Spencer Susser initially couldn't reconcile the clean-cut Gordon-Levitt with the wild, anarchic Hesher, a character who becomes intertwined with a grieving young boy and a mousy grocery store clerk (Natalie Portman) then blithely turns their lives inside out, but Gordon-Levitt has always been good at reinvention: After all, how many child sitcom stars have grown up to be critically acclaimed actors who toggle easily between character roles and leading men? Recently, Gordon-Levitt sat down with Vulture to explain what he did to win the role, what you didn't get to see from him in Inception, and what he looks for in a director.

Gunn blames Kors for ‘Runway’ travesty

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A lot of “Project Runway” fans — including yours truly — are still mad that Season 8 ended in October with incredibly unpopular Gretchen Jones named the winner instead of incredibly popular Mondo Guerra.

Six months later, “Runway” mentor Tim Gunn is still steaming about it.

“Why did the villain win? Why?” he asked at a personal appearance in Salt Lake City last weekend. “I could not believe it. Gretchen’s talented, and she’s not a horrible person. But was she the winner of the season? I don’t think so.”

Gunn was clearly not a Gretchen fan. During Season 8, he took the unprecedented step of scolding her in front of the other contestants for her behavior.

“The ‘Project Runway’ designers are like my kids,” Gunn said. “I love them all. I will say I love some more than others. And there’s some I wish I’d left in a basket.”

Season 9 will film in June and July, and according to Gunn, it may begin airing before it’s finished shooting.

Why Every Hollywood Agent (Even Sarah Silverman's) Wants Their Star Client On "The Good Wife" Read

Mark Saks, casting director of CBS drama "The Good Wife," is the architect of the most fascinating, pedigreed and counterintuitive roster of guest-stars on television right now.

But in a way, he's got the woman he found to star in the show — Julianna Margulies — to thank.
When Margulies signed onto the series nearly three years ago, all hopes of shooting it in L.A. disappeared. The actress's contract stipulated that she wouldn't have to leave the east coast.
"I knew anything she did would have to be in New York," said Saks. "And to have New York as a casting palate — I thought, 'wow, this is going to be really exciting.' It's just fresher."

Saks' method combines pulling from Broadway, snatching fresh faces and tearing up the typecasting on some of the business's finest actors.
It's a formula that has brought to the legal drama everyone from Michael J. Fox (whose Parkinson's helped inform his character) to Alan Cumming (whose short-arc performance turned into a series-regular gig).
Tonight, Sarah Silverman guest-stars — in a role that will not include her wearing a ringer tee or making poop jokes. Like we said, counterintuitive.

And part of the reason stars want to stop by is Saks' approach to what casting actually covers.
Witness the judges on "Good Wife." On some procedurals, those roles get slightly better billing than chalk-outline corpses.
On this show, they're played by people like Jerry Stiller and Ana Gasteyer.
"We didn't just want faces on the bench like 'Law and Order,'" said Saks. "We want them all to have individual personalities and be quirky in their own way.
"Now everybody wants to play a judge on the show, especially because they get to come back. People are pitching us almost daily at this point, and then I have my own hit list of people I want to work with."

"The description for Jane Alexander's character was an older woman, very liberal, an ex-hippie."
"She's famous for playing these uptight women, but in life she's got this wonderful gray hair, this open face -- that's what she really is."

“Good Morning America” has announced the blockbuster lineup for its annual summer concert series and it includes some female megastars.

Beyoncé will fire up the stage to perform songs from her upcoming fourth album on “GMA’s Summer Concert Series.” Her fellow femme fatales Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Additionally, Taio Cruz, Florence + the Machine, Selena Gomez, all Top 11 “American Idol” contestants, and more have been added to the diverse roster.

But kicking things off is Lady Gaga, performing songs from the highly-anticipated Born This Way on May 27, four days after the album’s release. Tickets for her show will be distributed to the public for free in advance.

Nicki Minaj Brings 'Rebel' Roman To David Guetta's 'Where Them Girls At'

Of all Young Money princess now-infamous characters, perhaps it's only fitting that for a new type of song for the artist, she broke out a new persona: a special hybrid just for French hitmaker David Guetta's latest single, "Where Them Girls At."

"It's a cross between Nicki and Roman," Minaj told MTV News this week. "I'm doing kind of a London accent. It seems like a rebel, or a rebellious little kid. That's the type of vibe that I feel on this particular record. It's party. It's fun. Who cares? I'm gonna say the craziest, most insane thing, and it's just about having fun."

Minaj confirmed what David Guetta first revealed to MTV News at Miami Music Week earlier this year: Together with Flo Rida, the pair created something special for Guetta's upcoming album. And while the song might not have been released under ideal conditions, the fans don't seem to care: In just over a week, the song maintains an impressive chart position on the iTunes singles download charts — sitting at #12 on Wednesday (May 11).

And while Guetta has lauded Minaj for her skills as an MC and openly said that he chased the opportunity to work with her for almost a year, it's endearing to hear that Minaj, in the end, was equally delighted for the chance to work with dance music's biggest crossover star.

Britney Spears Could be Forced Into Psychiatric Evaluation

Spears' ex-manager, Sam Lutfi, is pursuing legal claims against the singer's mother, Lynne Spears, and wants Britney to give a deposition. Britney's parents, though, are resisting, saying that Britney is mentally incapable of testifying. In a motion filed on Monday at the Los Angeles Superior Court, Lufti asks a judge to order a psychiatric evaluation of the singer to prove that's not true.

Despite Spears' comeback, she's still under the conservatorship of her father, James Parnell Spears, and family lawyer, Andrew Wallet. Both are hesitant to let the singer get too close with Lufti, who was fired in 2008.

As detailed in Lynne Spears' memoir, "Through the Storm," Lutfi was allegedly a master manipulator who secretly drugged Britney, cut off her communications and mobility, and set himself up as the celebrity's "gatekeeper" before he was fired.

Lufti says those things aren't true. He claims that Britney's life was already a mess before he got involved. He's suing for defamation, and last November, an appeals court refused to toss the lawsuit. So the battle rages on.

The ex-manager now wants Britney to give her side of the story, but her conservators don't want that.

The other royal wedding - Prince Albert and Charlene

With the dust barely settled on the "wedding of the century" royal wedding bells are chiming again in Europe, where another prince whose hair is thin on top is set to wed a comely commoner.

On July 1 and 2, the tiny principality of Monaco on the French Riviera near Italy - the second-smallest country in the world after the Vatican State - will hold its biggest party in 55 years when longtime bachelor Prince Albert slips a ring on the finger of South African swimmer, Charlene Wittstock.

Unlike Britain, where subjects camped outside Buckingham Palace for two days or more to get a good view of the bride's frock, in Monaco, the gates of the palace are being thrown open to all.

All Monaco nationals - who represent a few thousand in the population of 35, 000 - that is. The rest - mostly French and Italians - are invited to a buffet and a sound and laser show by French composer Jean-Michel Jarre in the port on the first evening, after the civil wedding. The religious wedding takes place on the second day.

For residents of this nation, which measures just two square kilometres, the wedding is a rare opportunity to make global headlines for something other than its prestigious Grand Prix.

Fatherhood, a treasured Cary Grant role

Only daughter Jennifer Grant has filled a book with memories. Over lunch, she recalls a girlhood of school day rituals and dude-ranch getaways.

Cary Grant wanted a life away from the silver screen in 1966 after three decades of superstardom in such classics as "North by Northwest," "Gunga Din," "The Philadelphia Story" and "Bringing Up Baby." So Grant, then 62, gave up his career for what he felt would be the greatest role of his life: doting father.

"He retired to be with me," said his daughter, Jennifer Grant. "That is hard to believe in and of itself. He put all of his focus, really, on me. Most people don't have the luxury to retire; most people don't wait until their 60s to have a child."

NBC renews Chuck (even though it sucks) and probably Parenthood; CBS is stupid

He's done it again! Escape artist CHUCK, which has successfully cheated cancellation for the past 2 years, will be coming back to fight again next season. I hear a deal is being finalized for a 13-episode order to the NBC spy dramedy. It is unclear what that bodes for NBC's other big bubble show, LAW & ORDER: LA. After getting a second chance with a complete reboot that has largely failed, it is unclear what more NBC can do with the show. But as they say, never bet against Dick Wolf. PARENTHOOD, which has done solid business in its Tuesday 10 PM slot, is expected to return.

Last year, CBS went for a bloodbath, canceling 7 series, including some decent performers like The Ghost Whisperer and The New Adventures of Old Christine. The network, which is yet to find a series that does as well as Ghost Whisperer in the Friday 8 PM slot, is not expected to go for such a dramatic overhaul this year. I hear a deal is almost done for RULES OF ENGAGEMENT to be renewed as CBS seems to be summoning all of its veteran comedies as flagship Two and a Half Men faces uncertain future. There is even talk about possibly bringing $#*! MY DAD SAYS sans star Jonathan Sadowski. Even long-forgotten legal dramedy THE DEFENDERS is not completely dead. As one insider noted, the show starring Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell did better than any other CBS series in the Friday 8 PM season this season. Things don't look good for midseason comedy MAD LOVE, though CBS brass loooove Jason Biggs, while CBS' other midseason entry, crime drama spinoff CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR is at 50/50 as its performances has been largely disappointing.

At least two of the CW's 3 bubble dramas, NIKITA, ONE TREE HILL and HELLCATS are expected to come back. Freshman NIKITA and veteran ONE TREE HILL, which have stronger ratings, are considered sure bets. Additionally, NIKITA is a big international seller for CW co-owner Warner Bros. TV, it has been on a ratings upswing lately, and I hear its meeting laying out next season went well. OTH continues to be solid and may be used to launch a new series, while HELLCATS has been soft in the ratings.

ABC has a lot of bubble shows but only a couple have a shot at returning next season. Midseason drama BODY OF PROOF and comedy HAPPY ENDINGS seem the most likely to score a renewal, with Body of Proof almost a lock as it has been the highest-rated new ABC drama this season. Meanwhile, Happy Endings has a lot of support within ABC. We will see this week if the comedy will get a bump from all the publicity surrounding the muted out Osama bin Laden joke last Wednesday. The other two freshman comedies awaiting their fate, BETTER WITH YOU and the Matthew Perry starrer MR. SUNSHINE are considered longer shots, while dramas Detroit 1-8-7 and No Ordinary Family are pretty much dead.

Barry Sonnenfeld and Grant Morrison Team for DOMINION: DINOSAURS VERSUS ALIENS

Director Barry Sonnenfeld and acclaimed comics writer Grant Morrison (The Invisibles) are teaming up for Dominion: Dinosaurs Versus Aliens.  Sonnenfeld will direct and Morrison will write the graphic novel and the screenplay.  The story takes place on a secret pre-historic Earth where aliens invade and super-intelligent dinosaurs are the planet’s only hope.  If the aliens have a device that chucks giant meteors at the planet, then spoiler alert: they won.  Also, I’m not sure how highly-intelligent dinosaurs behave.  Do they smoke pipes and read The Economist?

While the premise does seem like it came about because someone saw a kid playing with his dinosaur and aliens toys, I find it somewhat intriguing since I have no idea how they’ll introduce dialogue into the movie.  Will everything be subtitled?  If the dinosaurs talk, how does that not look silly?  Also, can aliens please get a break?  We mutilated them earlier this year in Battle: Los Angeles, and they’re going to be fighting against cowboys this summer.  Are we sending these movies into space as a warning?  In any event, the graphic novel will be published later this year.  Sonnenfeld is currently at work on another alien flick, Men in Black III.

Cannes Review: "Sleeping Beauty"

Greeted with diffident, muted applause at Cannes—where it was instantly vaulted into must-see territory the second it arrived in competition despite being the debut effort of a first-time director—“Sleeping Beauty” is a film that seduces and repels, that flickers between a come-hither smoldering gaze and dead-eyed passive aggression. This is, in many ways, the kind of film you only get at a major festival, a hothouse flower, beautiful and delicate and yet surprisingly hardy and potentially toxic. At the same time, it’s exactly the kind of film least well-served by being screened at a major film fest, with considered, slow contemplation pushed aside for rushes to judgment as fleet as a tweet.

Fringe Exclusive: Seth Gabel Returning Full-Time

All of you Lincoln Lee fans are gonna be really happy. Personally, I have no idea how exactly this will work in regards to the plot, but WHO CARES?!! :DDDDD

Lohan Probation Report -- Lindsay's a Drug Addict

The L.A. County Probation Department believes Lindsay Lohan is a drug addict.

According to the probation report, Lindsay's probation officer wrote, "Substance abuse is the root of the defendant's problems."

Judge Stephanie Sautner begged to differ this AM, saying she did not believe Lindsay's problem was drug related.

The Probation Report lists the drugs Lindsay has been taking: Trazadone (for depression), Nexium (for heartburn), Yaz (birth control), Zoloft (anti-depressant), Doxycycline (antibiotic), Zyrtec (allergies) and Zythromax (antibiotic).

The Probation Report mentions Lindsay failed an alcohol test on February 8, 2011 -- this is about a month AFTER Lindsay left the Betty Ford Clinic.

As for that alleged attack at Betty Ford, the report also states that cops have interviews with restaurant employees, hotel employees, and nightclub employees saying that Lindsay was drinking that night.

And the Probation Report says Lindsay is a serial shoplifter: "Defendant has been suspected of similar conduct in other jewelry stores ... As a result [the detective in the necklace case] recommends that the defendant ... be ordered to serve at least six months in county jail."

Randy Jackson & JLo Act Pressed, Hate on Idol HBIC Haley, Steven Tyler Remains a Flawless Legend

Haley Reinhart is moved by Michael Jackson's Earth Song. It's a plaintive message song, miles different from what we've seen from Haley the past few weeks. Like last week's Lady Gaga song, it's quite a risk. Can she pull it off?

Aesthetically, I'd say yes. She sounds just lovely, packing the song with plenty of emotion, and the choir that comes down the stairs halfway through doesn't hurt, either. She may overplay the shouting a bit, but, overall, it's a strong addition to her repertoire.

"I really felt that it did inspire you," Jennifer says. However, she's not sure it measured up to the bar that James set. "That song has a beautiful message, no doubt," she says, but adds that she needs to keep in mind the songs that the other contestants are choosing.

Randy thinks Jennifer's right. "The song doesn't really suit you or fit you." He also says she was screaming, and Haley's shooting daggers. "That wasn't the top of my range," she retorts. "I was just feeling it."

Steven Tyler says not to listen to Jennifer or Randy. "What do you get from that?" he asks. "They're both wrong. ... It wasn't a hit song, but you hit it, you nailed it."

LOL: Fox vs Common. Palin Tweets and Karl Rove calls him a "Thug"

After notable battles with Nas,Ludacris, Eminem and Jay-Z, the Sly Fox is at it again. Yesterday, the network called Common a “vile rapper” on their website after learning he was invited to the White House by First Lady, Michelle Obama for a poetry event. They based their claim on his “Letter To The Law” poem. Maybe he should ‘do it live’ tomorrow at Casa Blanca.

lol, Common son? Really Fox? You're gonna call him vile?
This Common?  That dude?  This dude is a thug? Yeah real negative lol
This network and corporation are so out of touch with reality. They dont even know what's really harmful and vile. They stay losing all their battles with Hip-Hop..
If these guys think Common is a menace, I can't wait to see what they think of
thesedudes. Cause they'll probably have a collective heart attack seeing them (hopefully)
