If you missed the first season of An Idiot Abroad what you should know, beyond the fact that it’s currently the best show on television, is that Karl Pilkington has a head like a fucking orange. He also hates to travel, so, his friends Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant gave him his own TV show in which they force him to travel to exotic locations and let us watch him suffer on the back of a camel. This is not your normal travel show.
Beyond the comedy, the real brilliance of An Idiot Abroad is the unvarnished way it lets us really see what it might be like if we traveled to these exotic places. That happens because Karl basically hates everything and isn’t easily impressed. No other travel show really does that, they’re all about amazing sunsets and incredible local food. When Karl Pilkington visited the pyramids he complained about all the trash laying around and ended up watching the sunset behind those ancient tombs from the window of a nearby Pizza Hut.
The show’s first season is over, but it’ll be back for a second season, against Karl’s wishes. Season one ended with Karl vowing to never have anything to do with this project again, but for the second season Ricky and Stephen have lured him back in by promising to let him decide where he's going (don't worry, they won't). They’re calling it An Idiot Abroad: The Bucket List, and producer Ricky Gervais has just unleashed the new season’s first teaser trailer.

Anne Hathaway has thanked supporters who helped her overcome the "awful" reviews of her Oscars hosting stint with James Franco.
The Devil Wears Prada actress teamed up with Franco to oversee the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony in February, but the young double-act was universally panned by critics for lacking charisma and authority.
Speaking on Thursday's edition of The Today Show, Hathaway despaired to host Matt Lauer: "They said we were the worst show ever, I think that qualifies as tough.
"There was the critical reaction, which was awful. Then there are the people who have been coming up to me since then who stop and say, 'I thought it was fantastic. I watched it with my family and we were entertained'. I am very grateful to those people."
Hathaway also admitted that she was undecided about whether she would accept a second hosting offer from the Academy, stating: "Why not? I don't know. Maybe. Perhaps. No."
Hathaway and Franco were previously blasted by four-time Oscars host Whoopi Goldberg for failing to take charge of proceedings.
Hathaway claimed in March that she "never expected" to be awarded control of the Academy Awards.
Amanda Seyfried has a new addition to her home - a dead horse called Antoine.
The Red Riding Hood actress already has a pet dog, an Australian shepherd called Finn, and decided to splash out on the foal.
"I got another animal, I'm going to share - I bought a three week old just this week, well it was three weeks old when it died, (it's a) miniature horse," she revealed.
"It's being shipped to LA as we speak. And it's going to be Finn's new best friend unless he tries to eat it. It's like this big, I can carry it."
She added: "It's very well done. It's the best taxidermy in the world. Its name is Antoine."
Amanda, who has been in London to promote Catherine Hardwicke's contemporary adaptation of the classic fairytale - which also stars Gary Oldman, Jeremy Irons and Shiloh Fernandez - has been missing her dog.
"I've done so many videos of Finn before I left because I couldn't bear a week without him," she said.

New solo attempt by ex Girlicious member Natalie Mejia, and it's definitely her best try yet. Which isn't to say it'll be breaking music records anytime soon, but it's Nat's best effort so far in her short solo career.
And unlike some other recording artists, Natalie actually writes her own lyrics. Also unlike some other recording artists, Natalie, and Chrystina and Nichole for that matter, got writing credit on their latest album 'Rebuilt' because they actually helped contribute to writing.

In other Girlicious news, "Hate Love" is slaying Canadian charts with absolutely NO promo at all! Currently it's sitting at #30 on the Canadian Airplay chart and at #68 on the Canadian Hot 100, and with it increasing in iTunes sales every day, it shows no signs of stopping its chart climb yet! For a broken up girl group who released their album last November and got zilch promotion except ONTD posts, this is really good!
Also, only remaining member Nichole Cordova, who just won $10,000 in Vegas, is joining the PCD Burlesque Revue for some Canadian shows, and you can get more details at Girlicious-Station, and tickets through TicketMaster.

The story of Jeff Buckley — a handsome singer with an ethereal voice who tragically drowned at age 30 after the release of his breakthrough first album, Grace — has long intrigued Hollywood, and Brad Pitt tried for years to develop it into a biopic. Back then, he met with resistance from Buckley's mother, Mary Guibert (who controls her son's estate and has released many posthumous Buckley CDs), but now Guibert has settled on filmmaker Jake Scott (Welcome to the Rileys) to tell the story, and production will finally begin this fall.
But who should play the singer? (Since there's no way any actor can replicate Buckley's unearthly timbre — in other words, there's gonna be a lot of lip-syncing — feel free to cast a wide net when speculating.)
Five years ago I would have thought James Franco, but not anymore.

Being Human U.K. fans figured Aidan Turner’s bloodsucker Mitchell wasn’t long for the show the second Peter Jackson cast the actor in The Hobbit. But did they also assume he wasn’t long for the world? Perhaps… primarily because the majority of this current season centered on a prophecy that Mitchell (who murdered 20 people on a Bristol train) would be slain by a werewolf —the knowledge of which sent him spiraling from a determined hero to paranoid lunatic. Not even the love of a good woman —or ghost, i.e. Lenora Crichlow’s Annie —could save him. (If you haven’t seen the final episode, it’s probably best to stop reading now. Spoilers ahead!)

It’s not too late to catch up with The Killing, AMC’s gripping, atmospheric new detective series about the murder of a teenaged girl in Seattle. I was too busy with Borgias and Kennedys to catch last week’s premiere myself, but it’s easy and definitely worth doing.
The two hour pilot will be repeated Sunday just before the new episode, or you can watch it on amctv.com
You’ll find an enigmatic heroine in Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos, who played twin wives in Big Love) , a homicide detective and single mother about to move away with her son and marry her fiancee. But the murder of high-school student Rosie Larsen keeps her in town - and under the endless rain that adds to the somber tone. Enos plays the role with perfect subtlety; we can see that Sarah is quietly in turmoil.
The series gives equal attention to Rosie’s family; her parents are affectingly played by Michelle Forbes and Brent Sexton. And the investigation instantly leads in the direction of a mayoral campaign, with Billy Campbell playing a politician who has a very complicated life.
Some early reviews compared The Killing to Twin Peaks, but there’s none of David Lynch’s surreal style here. It reminds me more of Damages in its early, best seasons: taut and surprising. The show doesn’t break any molds; in fact it’s based on a Danish series. But it is remarkably well done.

RaNia’s agency DR Music have also spoken out about the early success, revealing that Teddy phoned them up “amazed” by all the attention.
A rep for DR Music state, “On the morning of the 7th, he made an international call and expressed that he was amazed over the power of K-pop as he watched news of Rania spread through YouTube and Twitter. He’s read all of the English news on the girls and is quite stunned.”Teddy also revealed something very interesting during his recent interview: He expressed his disappointment over not being able to catch RaNia’s debut showcase this week because he was too busy with Rihanna’s “album production”.He didn’t elaborate any further, but I smell a Loud repackage.
Teddy stated, “The majority of the comments weren’t from Koreans, but international K-pop fans. I didn’t think that people from where I live, the States, would be so interested in K-pop. There were some that even recognized the girls’ names, and most of the comments were praising ‘K-pop talent.’ ”
“I’m glad that my girl group is doing so well, and I sincerely congratulate their debut.”
Teddy co-produced Michael Jackson’s Dangerous album, as well as “Teeth” from Lady GaGa’s The Fame Monster, so RiRi should be in good hands.

Critical condition: Peter Toole was injured in a race preceding yesterday's Grand National

Toole was injured when his mount, the outsider Classic Fly, crashed to the ground in the early stages of the John Smith's Maghull Novices' Chase, the 2.15pm race on the card yesterday.
His fall came before two horses died during yesterday’s Grand National in one of the most ‘distressing’ races in recent history.
The 22-year-old Irishman was taken to the nearby Fazakerley Hospital then later transferred to the hospital's Walton Centre For Neurology & Neuro Surgery.
There was no comment on his condition from the hospital when MailOnline enquired this morning.

Sue Sylvester, 'Glee'
This character went from the best scene-stealer around to, well, almost the best scene-killer. It's no surprise Jane Lynch won the Emmy for 'Glee' season 1. 'Glee' season 2? That's another story. The character has gotten more and more absurd and cartoony. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if Ryan Murphy and co. actually did an episode with an animated Sue Sylvester. By giving her so much to do, and trying to top each stunt, Sue Sylvester has become a burden for 'Glee.' That's not to say that every scene and episode with her is horrible; it's just a balance issue that needs to be rectified.

The Ricky Gervais Show, the animated TV series based on Ricky Gervais' hit podcast, will be returning for a third series - and it looks likely a fourth series will be commissioned next year
Channel 4 confirmed this morning that the show would be returning to UK screens next year, following the news that Emmy-winning animated series has been re-commissioned for a third series by HBO - the American network which produces the programme.
Shane Allen, Head of Comedy at Channel 4 said: "The Ricky Gervais Show is a proper treat in our schedule. The killer funny cross-examination of Karl's deranged logic and life philosophies are a perfect fit with the comedy savvy audience of Channel 4. It's also got the sweetest profile with a vast share of the 16-34 demographic. It should keep getting recommissioned until Karl is 'cured'."
Ricky Gervais says: "I am absolutely thrilled. The third season should use up the rest of the best stuff from the audiobooks and podcasts, and we are planning to record brand new material for Season 4."
The original audio recordings, which feature Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington bantering about all kinds of topics, have now been downloaded over 300 million times. The TV series is animated by Los Angeles-based Wildbrain Entertainment, with direction from Gervais on the look and feel of the characters.
The second series of The Ricky Gervais Show is currently broadcasting in the UK. New episodes are on E4 on Tuesdays at 10:30pm, and repeated on Channel 4 on Thursdays.

Here are some highlights from Reese’s Elle interview:
Reese Witherspoon is candid about the entertainment industry, from rejection (”They can really kick ya, you know?”) to the pressure to always look perfect.
“I feel for these women,” she says. “The guys get dressed and it’s no big deal, and they’re there because they’ve given a great performance. For every woman it’s, ‘What is she wearing?’ And, ‘But did she wear that to the last awards show?’ And, ‘What will she wear to the next awards show?’ And none of it is about her performance or how hard she worked—and those are the women who did extraordinary work.”
“I’m not going to lie, it’s fun to watch. But at a certain point, I go, ‘Wait, strip it all down.’ These girls—I shouldn’t say girls, these women—worked really hard, really hard, and now it’s reduced to … ‘She looks frumpy.’ How hard we are on people who are just doing their best. When we start measuring women on their appearance … We’re just too hard on each other. Women need to be more supportive of each other, stop tearing each other apart. There’s plenty of room for all of us. There’s plenty of men for all of us. There’s plenty of jobs. There’s plenty of room! I really believe it. Another actress out there has a number-one movie? They’re going to make more movies about women. A female writer sells a script? They’re going to look at another script from another woman. The better one woman does, the better all women do.”

It's a long article, but pretty solid read. Wish there would be more about the flawless Frank Ocean, but oh well.
The theme of "Girl" is like a female empowerment/girl power type of song that is a definite club banger with Top 40/Worldly appeal. The beat is driven by a sample of a popular club song that a lot of you will probably recognize. There's a breakdown in the song that is described as absolutely fucking disgustingly sick! Definitely an anthem in the style of her singing. My friend couldn't remember exact lyrics, but "Girl...girl....girl" is repeated a lot through out the song.
More on the choreography. No males will be dancing except these 2 African men that do this sick solo African intro with footwork at the top of the routine. There may be more, but at the meeting today only those 2 men were dancing. Bey will have an army of like 100 or more girls. 20 of them will be doing the choreography with her and there will be like 100 of them behind her carrying sticks and marching. Men will be used as props and actors with the girls coming all in their faces and intimidating them. Again, the concept wasn't revealed so that's just connecting the dots with the choreography and small information that was given. It definitely looks like Bey will have an army or lesion of girls for one of the scenes that is presumably being shot on the 13th. Expect a full out dance number with lots of choreography.

Courteney Cox has claimed that a Friends movie is unlikely to ever be made.
The Scream 4 actress, who played house-proud foodie Monica Gellar in the NBC sitcom, argued that reuniting the cast for a big-screen adventure would be a logistical nightmare.
When asked by The Mail On Sunday whether a Friends movie would ever hit cinema screens, Cox replied: "No. I just can't see that happening. I mean, I'm not in control of it and if I was, we'd have already done it. But it involves so many different people's lives and schedules that I just don't know how you'd get it all together. So no, I don't see it happening."
Despite admitting to losing contact somewhat with her Friends co-stars, Cox confirmed that she had been approached by former colleague Lisa Kudrow to appear on the US version of Who Do You Think You Are?, which the 47-year-old executive produces.
Cox teased: "Lisa's asked me to be on it; apparently they've found something in my family history which they won't tell me because they like to surprise the person. It's an amazing show and I'll probably do it - it's just trying to find the time."
Cox previously confessed that she has "daydreamed" about making a Friends movie. Her co-stars Matt Le Blanc and David Schwimmer have both rejected suggestions that a Friends movie is close to being greenlit.
Continuing to rethink what the definition of a Disney movie, the studio is picking up Chrome and Paint, a gritty car culture project from Ice Cube.
Cube will direct and produce with his CubeVision partner Matt Alvarez and is also co-writing the script with Eva Vives, who co-wrote the 2002 Latino drama Raising Victor Vargas.
Chrome and Paint is actually the name of a song from Cube’s 2006 album Laugh Now, Cry Later and contains lyrics that wouldn’t get through the front gate of the Burban-based studio.
Cube envisioned the film project, set in South Central LA, as a hardcore R-rated movie where young people die in drive-bys, but now that Disney will be its home, the grit factor will be toned down.
The story, in getting the Disney flavor, will be turned into a father-son story centering around a car. Paint will focus on a teen who is left fatherless and begins to rebuild a car that belonged to his father. Cube will play a friend of the father's who helps. The process of remaking the car helps the two heal each other.
Since taking the reins of the studio, Rich Ross and Sean Bailey have tried to broaden the scope of the traditional Disney movie even as they cut down the number of movies the studio makes.
One move has been bringing in filmmakers that normally wouldn’t have set up projects at the studio, such as David Fincher. Add Cube to the list.

On Saturday, RadarOnline.com published a photo of Lady Gaga getting into the spirit of things in Texas by wearing denim jeans and hand-made boots. Now we know the incredible story behind the vest she was also sporting the afternoon before her Austin show.
Gaga's striking red vest was made by one of her biggest fans, Christopher Roa, a Sacramento make-up artist and painter, who goes by the name Mr. Make Up.
He took his own 1980s vintage leather vest and applied dozens of studs by hand. He painted on a triangle representing the LGBT community and Gaga's favorite symbol, a unicorn, reported The Sacramento Bee.
Roa then went to Gaga's March 23 show in Sacramento, and waited for an opportunity to toss the vest on stage as a birthday present for his hero.
She not only picked it up but the singer wore it through several more songs!
Gaga said it was the best birthday present she ever got -- she turned 25 on March 28 -- and Roa called the whole experience a thrill of a lifetime.
Lady Gaga does love her Monsters and they definitely love her back.
The back of the vest. So flawless.
Praise her!!!!!! She really does love her fans :') Ur faves would just dump it in the trash tbh or get it out of the trash like Ke¢ha.
Right after Dutch actor Lotte Verbeek heard about the script for Showtime’s series “The Borgias” she Googled the name of Giulia Farnese, the woman who inspired the role for which she was being considered.
“I saw she had red hair, like me,” Verbeek says. “I actually didn’t get why the role was right for me.”
“The Borgias” is based on the real-life story of Pope Alexander VI and his romantic and criminal entanglements; Farnese, who was also known as Giulia the Beautiful, was one of his lovers. After her initial web search, Verbeek was won over by her character’s strength and mysterious qualities.
Most actors love to tout the study time they put in to learn the real-life roots of their roles. Verbeek opted not to do a whole lot of additional research; refreshingly, she says she looked to the script, authored by director Neil Jordan (“The Crying Game”), for inspiration.
“I think it’s great to be inspired by actual facts, and use that as a starting point,” Verbeek says. “When I started shooting and playing this part, I was not playing Giulia Farnese, I was playing the part in the way that Neil Jordan wrote it and the way I saw this character.”
Verbeek, born in Venlo, the Netherlands, received international attention for the 2009 movie “Nothing Personal.” She speaks five languages–Dutch, English, French, German and Italian–and “I can act in all of them.”
She’s relatively new to acting, but she says she wasn’t intimidated by having to be in nude love scenes with veteran star Jeremy Irons, who plays Pope Alexander VI. “”That’s the job of an actor. You get to be in all these strange new challenging situations.”
In the wake of the high-profile splash of “The Borgias,” she’s now considering a move to New York from the Netherlands. “I might someday cross the ocean, why not?”
I watched Nothing Personal the other day and she was amazing in it. I was pretty much blown away
Vanessa Hudgens was recently asked by PEOPLE magazine to share what she thinks is the best invention ever, but the Sucker Punch star quickly turned that question around.
"I know what the worst invention ever is," she says, "The internet. I think it's ruining everyone, and it just makes everybody way too accessible – it just takes away the glamor and mystery from our business."
The star recently had a new batch of graphic photos hit the internet.
The High School Musical star has gotten the FBI involved to help root out the person (or people) who keeps leaking the photos. The hackers responsible for leaking Vanessa's photos have also targeted a string of other young female stars, including Miley Cyrus and Scarlett Johansson.
Late last month Vanessa took photos in London while hanging out with her Sucker Punch castmates. The group of girls hung out at a nightclub before heading to burlesque club The Box; and later Vanessa took photos of the paparazzi while walking through an area of sex shops in Soho.
She reportedly told the photographers she's post the pictures she took to her Twitter page, making us wonder how she could think the internet is the "worst invention ever."

Jason Eisener, who helmed the new era Grindhouse saga Hobo With a Shotgun starring Rutger Hauer, is gunning for a childrens film when he’s completed work on his upcoming tournament fighter.
“I’ve designed our next movie as if I was creating my own tournament game like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter 2. I’m designing every character to be unique both in look and fighting style so if we ever made a game, it’d be the coolest tournament fight game ever. I would absolutely love to dive more into that world,” said Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun).
The first time filmmaker won a contest to have his short film featured as a fake trailer to be included with the epic Grindhouse movie that debuted a couple years ago. After Machete made the transition from fake trailer to full length feature, Hobo with a Shotgun also made the leap but managed to morph into something incredibly strange at the same time. Eisener took some time to reflect on a possible spin-off film featuring villains from the Hobo world, The Plague. The robotic[..]assins are what Eisener refers to as his R2D2 and C3PO or Jay and Silent Bob.
“There’s a whole mythology behind them. They’re basically like demons; for me, there’s nothing beneath their costumes. To me, they’ve been around since the beginning of time, probably had tons of other crazy armor, riding on horses, etc. You see in their lair they have a bunch of bounties crossed off and one of them’s Jesus Christ, another is Joan of Arc,” said Eisener.
