Beyonce & Jay-Z Celebrate Anniversary in The Bahamas

Hip-hop’s royal couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, planned a quick getaway to the Bahamas to celebrate their third wedding anniversary. Mrs. Carter, in her island attire, shielded herself from the cameras with a big-brimmed hat, while her husband rocked a white tee during their visit to the Abaco Islands. The couple’s vacay won’t last long as Bey heads back to the U.S. to continue prepping her fourth album, reportedly scheduled for late June.

She wants to do a big tour off the back of this record, which will include Australia. These songs, the best description I can give is groundbreaking; she’s gone to another level.”

Summit Pushes THE DARKEST HOUR from August to December 23 Release

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Summit previously scheduled the 3D The Darkest Hour for August 5, a fairly typical summer release date for a sci-fi thriller. Per Box Office Mojo, the studio has pushed the film to December 23, a less natural holiday season bow. On the new date, The Darkest Hour must vie for 3D theaters against The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn; the date also holds The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and We Bought a Zoo.

Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Rachel Taylor, Max Minghella, and Joel Kinnaman star as young tourists who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack. Chris Gorak (Right at Your Door) is directing from a script by Jon Spaihts. Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) is among the producers.

Kevin Spacey Takes Capital Bikeshare For A Spin

Oscar winner Kevin Spacey is in town today to deliver the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy to a Americans for the Arts' annual Arts Advocacy Day. But before delivering the speech at the Kennedy Center this evening, Spacey stopped by the White House for a tour -- and check out how he was getting around.

Spacey posed in front of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on top of a Capital Bikeshare bicycle, joking on his Twitter account that his tour "had a very small carbon footprint."

Spacey's been involved with global warming activism in the past, so it's hardly surprising to see him embrace bike sharing -- but it's still pretty neat that a Hollywood big shot isn't above using Bikeshare to get around. One wonders if Mr. Spacey took advantage of the Pennsylvania Avenue bike lanes?

Jesse James: The outlaw with no shame

Rather like his famous Wild West ancestor, the 2.0 version of Jesse James is cutting quite a swath through history, even if it's the pop culture kind. First he motored on to reality television in Monster Garage, all tatted out and brooding, with an aquarium full of sharks, a garage full of hot cars and motorcycles and a pack of pit bulls to guard it all.

Then he married a porn star. Then he married a movie star. Then he cheated on the movie star. Then he courted a tattoo star. Then he got engaged to the tattoo star. And now, he's telling all, about Sandra Bullock and Kat Von D and his kids and his Nazi memorabilia and all the other misunderstood factoids he'd like to straighten us out on.

And just to keep us interested, he's released the book cover of his upcoming autobiography, American Outlaw, which hits U.S. stores May 3.

And yes, that's his gun. You've been warned.

Scarlett Johansson to play alien sexual predator in new British film

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

To some, Scarlett Johansson is the dream woman. Now the actor is to star as a pin-up extraterrestrial who roams the Scottish Highlands in search of male hitchhikers whose body parts she can harvest, in a sci-fi film directed by Jonathan Glazer.

Under the Skin will be produced by FilmNation, who today issued a statement explaining that Johansson will play "an alien on Earth, disguised as the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery looking to use her greatest weapon to snare human prey - her voracious sexuality."

Under the Skin is based on the novel of the same name by Michel Faber, published by Canongate in 2000, two years before The Crimson Petal and the White catapulted him to fame. Glazer co-wrote the script with Walter Campbell; production is scheduled to start in late spring 2011.

In a statement, FilmNation's CEO Glen Basner, said: "We're so very excited to be working on this arrestingly original movie. How could we pass up the chance to work with a visionary director like Jonathan, especially when combined with the intriguing notion of Scarlett Johansson as a ruthless alien seductress?"

Under the Skin is being produced with the help of Film4, the soon-to-be-scrapped UK Film Council and Scottish Screen.

Now that George R.R. Martin's long-awaited next book is coming out, and the television version of his Game of Thrones is coming soon, he's getting a lot more attention — including two great new profiles. This week's New Yorker has a terrific profile of Martin by Laura Miller — it focuses rather a lot on the fan backlash over the delay of his novel A Dance With Dragons, but manages to reveal tons of fascinating stuff along the way. And there's also a terrific interview in today's New York Times.

Here are some cool things we learned about George R.R. Martin from the two pieces:

The Dalton Academy Warblers will be performing Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know.” Yay! How’s that for a musical scoop, Gleeks?

James Franco Says Social Media is Over

James Franco has bemoaned social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, claiming that the fad is "over".

The 127 Hours actor told Politico that he feels too much time is wasted on the sites and insisted that the trend will no longer be relevant in a few years' time.

"Social media is over. Still up there. Going down. You heard it here first," he said.

"If you want to write, make the time. We all have an hour or two a day that can be used for surfing Facebook or writing. No one is going to beg any new writer to write."

He also admitted to being frustrated by the responses received about his own Twitter account, which he launched earlier this year to promote his stint as co-host of the 2011 Academy Awards, adding: "My thought was, 'This is my Twitter. I can do whatever I want'. But certain companies I work with contacted me about what I was saying."

David Bowie App Will Allow Fans to Create Their Own Remixes

David Bowie will always be hip. Unlike some classic rock stars who have sadly allowed age to catch up with them, even if he’s not releasing any music worthy of his golden years (we couldn’t help ourselves), Bowie at least knows how to recognize that “scary” new things–bands, technology, Lady Gaga–aren’t a threat to him.

In fact, he’s often embraced the power of of new tech and taken advantage of what it can offer to recording artists. Case in point: on June 6, an App will be released by EMI for his song “Golden Years,” which will allow fans to manipulate the various tracks on the song and create their own remixes.
Bowie’s done this before, with the tune “Space Oddity,” but this time users will be able to export their remix to an MP3 file and share it with family and friends. Budding artists ought to be pleased; Bowie’s music is eternally cool, and remixing is currently cool. Can’t go wrong with that combo these days.

To spark users’ creativity, EMI will also be releasing a new EP featuring the original single, as well as four remixes from DJ’s Jeremy Sole, Anthony Valadez, Eric J. Lawrence and Chris Douridas.

With technology making the creation of music more and more democratized, we’re thrilled to know that there are mainstream artists willing to participate in the revolution. Sure, they do it for the sales it generates, but if it helps fans discover their own untapped potential, we’re all for it.

Do you think that technology has been good for music these days, or has it made it too easy for less-than-talented artists to record and release music? In the past, bands had to prove their worth; now that’s not the case. Is that good or bad?

Madonna faces FBI investigation over charity

New York, April 5, (PTI):

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After the furore in Malawi, pop icon Madonna is now being investigated by the FBI over another charity she chairs, Success for Kids.

The educational charity is being probed by the FBI for "several irregularities and suspicious activity", reported New York Post online. It is not clear the extent to which Madonna is involved in the investigation but she has donated USD 671,000 to the organisation since it was founded in 2001 and has also persuaded a string of celebrity friends to give generously.

The development comes a week after it emerged that the 52-year-old had to scrap plans to build a school in Malawi due to financial mismanagement by her charity, 'Raising Malawi'. The star abandoned the project because USD 3.5 had been frittered away by members on needless luxuries.

The investigation will be another setback for Madonna and raises the prospect she could be drawn into a federal tax probe in the US.

ONTD's ex-bf Askars may be single again soon!

US Weekly says Alexander Skarsgård and (soon to be ex-gf) Kate Bosworth are on the rocks. Things are not going too well, according to sources, as they have "hit a rough patch" and friends and family feel the tension growing between them.

"There are True signs of trouble for Kate Bosworth, 28, and Alexander Skarsgard, 34. “They’ve hit a rough path,” a source says of the couple, who split in September 2010 and reunited one month later. “They’ve been fighting a lot about stupid stuff. They are still together, but I don’t think for much longer.” (In fact, at a West Hollywood party in February, she told Skarsgard’s dad, “I love him!”) The pair hardly looked harmonious during a March 10 Nylon dinner with her folks at Hemingway’s Lounge in L.A. Bosworth, who stars in the upcoming Another Happy Day, and the brooding True Blood hunk “barely spoke the entire night - he just kept talking to her parents and other people,” says a witness. “You could feel the tension.” Seconds the source, “Things are not going well.”

The double life of Sutan Amrull and Raja

Sutan Amrull is a famous makeup artist who sometimes goes by the name Raja, the drag queen who is the clear favorite on the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Bradford Shellhammer chats with Sutan/Raja about Rick Owens, why he puts up with L.A.’s douchebags, and “smart” drag.

Who came first, Sutan the artist or Raja the performer?

Raja came first, but it took Sutan (the vessel) to fully embody her and fully realize her as a supreme entity.

All right, that’s all bullshit! Sutan came first, I guess.

Why did you go on Drag Race?

I went on RuPaul’s Drag Race to showcase my work as an artist, and to hit the refresh button on drag. I felt that drag was starting to lose its edge and younger queens needed an education on the possibilities of drag. Above and beyond those reasons … I’m an attention whore!

OH SNAP Y'ALL! Jack McFarlane Joins The Three Stooges

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Sean Hayes has joined the cast of the Farrelly Brothers comedy The Three Stooges, Deadline is reporting.

Hayes, best known for his role on "Will & Grace," will star as Larry in the tribute to the original comedy legends, performing alongside Will Sasso as Curly and a yet-to-be-cast Moe. The plot, inspired by original "Three Stooges" shorts, will have the trio left as newborns outside an orphanage and will follow them into adulthood, the full film being divided into three half-hour shorts.

Final casting for the film is expected to be announced shortly, though the brothers (who recently directed Hall Pass) announced that they have a role in mind for Cher (who previously appeared in their Stuck on You.)

Henry Cavill Hasn't Tried on Superman Costume Yet

Relativity held an Immortals panel at WonderCon on Saturday, and a Superman presentation threatened to break out.
The studio unveiled the first-ever footage of its Greek god epic fantasy, but many of the fans in attendance were fixated on a certain member of the cast: Henry Cavill, the man chosen to play Clark Kent/Superman in Warner Bros.' planned reboot.

While the footage provided food for thought -- the movie looks like a classical painting beautifully come to life, some drew comparisons
to the stylized look of sword-and-sandal hit 300 -- Cavill drew by far the most interest.

You couldn't help imagining the British actor in mild-mannered reporter garb or with a big S on his chest. In fact, the very first person up at the
microphone during the Q&A asked if Cavill had tried on the super suit yet. (Cavill's answer: "It's still in development. I haven't tried it on.")

But while the spotlight was on Cavill, Immortals director Tarsem Singh won over the crowd.
Talking at super-speed with brash honesty and humor, Tarsem, as he is known, called the movie "Carravagio vs. Fight Club or Old Boy" and explained why he made the gods young-looking instead of giving them the traditional, bearded, wisened look (if you're immortal, why would you want to take on an old appearance? he asked.)
In the end, of lot of the talk circled back to Tarsem's visual stylings, something producer Mark Canton predicted will make the movie stand out and be remembered.
"Because this movie is going to be unique ride and a real popcorn movie, it's going to be a lot of fun in 3D," said Canton.

Ashley Judd Details Molestation, Drug Abusing Family In New Memoir

Ashley Judd offers a sad, sobering look into the home life of her famous family in her new memoir, "All That Is Bitter & Sweet." Radar Online, which obtained a copy in advance of its Tuesday release date, reveals excerpts in which Judd counters the notion, made famous by her mother, Naomi, that the Judd family put the fun in dysfunctional.

After her father moved out, Ashley says, her mother began another relationship, with a man who was an abusive heroin addict.

"I was taught to believe that our lifestyle was normal and never to question it or complain, even when I was left alone for hours, sometimes days at a time, or when I was passed without warning to yet another relative," Judd writes.

The problems for the actress didn't just occur outside the house, as she details a sexual assault she suffered while getting pizza.

Star Jones: 'La Toya Jackson is manipulative'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Star Jones has said that her fellow Celebrity Apprentice contestant La Toya Jackson is "one of the most manipulative" people she's ever encountered.

While appearing on Access Hollywood Live, the former View co-host insisted that Jackson frequently betrays her seemingly gentle demeanor.

"La Toya is one of the most manipulative little girls you will ever meet… that [voice] works for her brand - that's who she is," Jones asserted. "She knows how to manipulate you while you're thinking that this is sweetness and light, and it worked."

In spite of personal feelings towards Jackson, Jones backed the 'Just Wanna Dance' singer's bid to become the next Celebrity Apprentice.

She explained: "I admired her and the way she played the game. As you watch, you're going to see she's probably the most strategic on the show."

The legal analyst recently suggested that she was surprised how tough the competition became as the show progressed.

Toni Morrison on Snooki: 'Don't know her...don't care'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
The fact that "Jersey Shore" star Snooki snagged a higher payday than Nobel Prize winner Toni Morrison to speak at Rutgers University has caused quite a stir, but Morrison herself seems to be unfazed.

According to the New York Post, Snooks was paid $32,000 from student activity funds to drop advice like “study hard but party harder” at a campus event last week while Morrison was given $30,000 to provide the University’s commencement address this year.

The $2,000 difference sparked some grumbling, but the prolific author didn't seem to be bothered when the Post asked about the Snooki situation.

“I don't know her,” she said of the diminutive, tanned reality star. “And I don’t care.”

Although Morrison normally gets double the amount Rutgers is paying for similar appearances, she explained to the Post, "I have some nostalgia about Rutgers because I used to teach there so, in effect, I cut my fee in half."

Nonetheless, some parents of Rutgers students aren't happy with the discrepancy. "It's disgusting," Nester Delgado, the parent of a freshman, told the Post. “Next year, is it going to be Jwoww or The Situation?"

Katy B 'won't diss ex-boyfriends like Adele'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Katy B has revealed that she has no plans to write songs about her past relationships.

The 'Lights On' star admitted that there are songs about heartbreak on her debut album, titled On A Mission, but they are not as in depth about relationships as Adele's material is.

"There are love songs and a bit of heartache there but it's not like Adele's album," she told the Daily Star.

"She's more like: 'I've had three boyfriends and this is about the first one and this about the second one', but I couldn't do that. Obviously there are certain songs about certain people but the line is more blurred.

"It's more about the emotion or friends than just one person."

The London-based singer-songwriter explained that new single 'Broken Record' reveals her more sensitive writing, stating that it "leans more towards love".

She added: "It's about being in a relationship and being scared of losing someone."

Katy B recently told Digital Spy that Adele inspired her while they both attended the Brit School.

If it weren't for their very different voices, we'd find it nearly impossible to tell the difference YouTube singer Dani Shay and her celebrity doppelgänger, Justin Bieber.

Shay, one of the most uncanny Bieber lookalikes the world has seen yet, has the Internet buzzing over this cover of Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" on YouTube. Strumming on acoustic guitar (much like Bieber himself does), Shay tackles both Rihanna and Em's parts of the song, shifting from the heartfelt chorus to the strident verses and back.

It's probably the closest that Eminem and Bieber will come to collaborating together, and although Shay's actual performance is not half bad, that's the last thing that will have people talking.

lmao omg !!  she DOES look like the biebz.

Hey, Pittsburgh-ians, we want pics!

The Dark Knight Rises Poster 3

The Pittsburgh Film Office announced today that the city has been chosen to host the production of Warner Bros' The Dark Knight Rises, which is set to begin shooting this summer. “We are thrilled to be welcoming the Batman film to Pittsburgh, and eager for the economic impact that our city will experience,” Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said. “This is another example of the growing film industry in our community, and we will be rolling out the red carpet for them." Said director Christopher Nolan: “Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman.” The last film in Nolan's Batman trilogy is slated to premiere July 20, 2012.

What on earth has Cam Gigandet gone and done?

The "Twilight" and "Burlesque" actor showed up to WonderCon to promote his new film "Priest" and show off a new 'do. A platinum blond 'do, that is.

"I went to sleep one night -- woke up -- Boom. Gone," he tells MTV of the new lack of pigment in his hair.

We had hopes that maybe it was for a role of some sort, but no such luck. Gigandet made this decision on his own accord.

"No, it was just for fun," he eventually admits. "I just needed something different."

So who was behind the 28-year-old's new look?

"My sister does hair and she's great at it, but this is the first time I've ever trusted her to do something," he says. We wouldn't be so trusting next time.

Aubrey O'Day to Drop 'Automatic' Debut Single April 12

Two and a half years after her departure from Danity Kane, Aubrey O'Day is putting out new music again.

The singer will release "Automatic," an electro-charged club track, exclusively via iTunes on April 12. The song was produced by Danity Kane collaborator Adonis, who's also scored hits with Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Usher, and O'Day tells Billboard.com that even though she "wanted to come with a ballad first just to throw people for a loop," she's happy with "Automatic" as her solo career's calling card.

"Automatic" is the right fit for where music is headed now," O'Day explains. "It's a pop-dance track, but I wanted to go in the club and write a song about not having to put on all the glamour and the glitz. So many dance songs are about putting on Louis Vuitton, getting dressed up and everything, and I wanted to do a song about walking in the room and getting automatically noticed and stealing everyone's attention without trying to."

"Automatic" is one of "at least 50" songs that O'Day has been working on for her solo debut album for SRC/Universal Motown, a process that's been chronicled on her Oxygen network reality series "All About Aubrey." Future episodes will feature O'Day recording a duet with fellow Danity Kane alumnus Aundrea Fimbres, while the April 11 season finale will find O'Day "reaching out to Diddy," who guided the group through its formation on MTV's "Making the Band 3."

"There's love for all those girls," says O'Day, who after leaving Danity Kane starred as Amber Von Tussle in the Broadway musical "Hairspray" in 2008 and headlined Planet Hollywood Vegas' Peepshow in 2009. "I would not have been able to go through that situation and not have love for them. Most of the time we were all we had...And still in the back of my mind I hope and pray we can kind of reunite one day and make Danity Kane happen again. But while everyone's on different pages, I'm just gonna roll with what I want to do."

Although she's worked with a number of genres for her album, O'Day says she's settled into an "urban pop" direction that includes some of the very first songs she came up with for the project. "I don't want to go all the way pop," she explains. "I have a very pop voice, but there's so much of me I associate mostly with urban music, so I try to blend the two. There's so many sides and capabilities my voice has, I want to play with all aspects, but this is what I think I do best." No release date has been set for the album, although it's expected out this year.

O'Day is hoping to do some live performing to promote "Automatic" and hopes to get the green light for a video "sooner rather than later. Hopefully we can get all my lovely fans to really back the single and make it sell like crazy on iTunes." She's also waiting for details about a second season of "All About Aubrey."

Vote Morris for President!

George Clooney is spotted on the set of his new political drama The Ides of March in Detroit on Monday (April 4). Clooney was seen hanging out in front of the fictional campaign headquarters for his charcter, Governor Mike Morris. Ryan Gosling was also spotted on set. Check out all the pics in the gallery.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Clooney and the gang filmed a funeral scene at Christ Church Cranbook in the affluent suburb of Bloomfield Hills a few weeks ago. For the indoor scenes, the church “auctioned” off chances to sit in the pews as an extra and be part of the movie. More than $20,000 was raised to support the Bound Together tutoring program for local elementary school students. Awesome!

Who Is Jessie J Crushing On?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Jessie J has already earned fans like Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus but she has her eye on one super-famous single pop star for a romantic relationship. Who’s the female celeb that has captured Jessie’s heart?

The openly bisexual British singer revealed on Global Grind that she has a crush on scarlet-haired Rihanna.

“I mean, who doesn’t fancy Rihanna,” Jessie told the website. “I just feel like I could have such a good laugh with her. She’s just so cheeky. It’s that little nose [and] smile. I met her at the Brit [Awards] and she shook my hand, and I was like, ‘Oh my god!’”

Jessie might have a chance with the “S&M” singer: Rihanna has hinted at having bisexual leanings and she caused an internet sensation when she joked about hooking up with another openly bisexual entertainer, Nicki Minaj. Go for it Jessie!

The singer also revealed the inspiration behind writing Miley’s “Party in the U.S.A” aka the official song of summer in 2009:

“Party In the U.S.A.” is about how excited I was to come to the U.S. and how nervous I was and I had butterflies all the time. I got in a cab outside of JFK and Jay-Z was on the radio, you know. And I have to make sure that my life is exciting because I don’t want the next album to be about sitting in a hotel or on airplanes eating sushi and salad. You know, you have to live life to write about it and I’m just making sure I enjoy every single moment that I’m having right now."

That enthusiasm for life really paid off – “Party in the U.S.A.” introduced a teenaged Miley to the mainstream pop world and the video has already earned over 206 million views on YouTube.

Gretchen of 'Housewives' Says Tamra Is a Faker

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
"Camera balls." That's what 'Real Housewives of Orange County' star Gretchen Rossi calls the change that washes over reality TV folk when they know it's time to amp up the drama for ratings. And she says one of her fellow wives on the Bravo hit has the biggest pair.

"Tamra [Barney] definitely turns it on for the cameras," Gretchen tells me of her co-star during a visit to my HDNet show. "She and I get along really well off camera, but when we're on camera she's just mean and evil. Not nice."

Gretchen didn't stop there. Over drinks on the set of 'Naughty But Nice' at the Gansevoort Park Hotel in NYC, the blond bombshell explained why she's fine not being the star of her show.

"I think [Tamra] wants to be the star of the show, and that's fine with me," she said. "Because if she wants to be the star of the show, that means she's a train wreck, so I'm totally OK with that."

Tamra Barney has no regrets over her steamy bath tub scene

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Tamra Barney hasn't been shy about how quickly she has gotten back on the saddle after her split from Simon, so why should she start now?

In the March 20 episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," the divorcee introduced viewers to her new younger boyfriend, Eddie Judge. And later in the episode, she introduced him (and us) to a naked romp in the bath tub while the cameras rolled. Tamra insists she has no regrets.

"I'm a free spirit, so I'm fine with it," she tells Life & Style in an exclusive interview.

Her cast mate Alexis Bellino appeared on that evening's episode of "Watch What Happens Live" and said she wouldn't have let it get that far with the cameras rolling, calling it "soft-core porn."

"It probably wasn't one of my better on-camera choices,"
Tamra tells the magazine. "Because one day I might have to answer to my children, but they don't watch the show. And would they disown me because I'm happy and in love? No."

She then adds, "You see more on daytime soap operas!"

Russian Government Blamed In LJ DDoS Attacks

LiveJournal Russia, the country's main platform for uncensored political discussion, recovered Tuesday from its biggest-ever hacker attack — which bloggers said could not have been staged without state resources.

The Cyrillic segment of the blogging service, which numbers 4 million Russian-language users, was first hit by a cyber attack last Wednesday.

Hackers used computers infected by malware, mostly in Asian and Eastern European countries, to flood the servers with requests, paralyzing them for seven hours. A second wave followed Monday, again rendering LiveJournal.com inaccessible in Russia.

Girl Group Rania Releases Music Video and Debut Single

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After generating much buzz through Jay Park’s “Hype Nation” last year, the ladies of Rania have finally revealed themselves through their debut single, “Dr. Feel Good“.

The girls were co-produced by Teddy Riley and DR Music, the label behind the hit girl group, Baby V.O.X. The two are reportedly ready to make their mark on the Hallyu wave once more.

The album was produced in three months at a studio in Los Angeles, and despite being busy preparing for Michael Jackson’s posthumous album, Teddy Riley took the time to direct everything from their music, stage concept, choreography, and outfits.

The group is comprised of Semi, Riko, Jui, Dee, Joy, and T-ae; Jui is from Thailand, and Riko is a Korean-Japanese. The girls are reportedly fluent in English, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean.

“Dr. Feel Good” delivers a powerful sound with an addictive melody, a combination that Teddy Riley assures can’t be found in other girl groups.

The CEO of DR Music commented, “The girls have shot a total of seven CFs prior to their debut due to the explosive amount of interest they’ve generated thus far.”

The girls will be making their debut on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on the 7th, followed by “Music Bank” and “Inkigayo” on the 8th and 10th.

Shakira: LatAm should break conformity

Colombian diva Shakira has told Latin Americans to leave their conformist mentality behind and aim higher.

During an interview with Televisa, the philanthropist pop star said Latin Americans should break away from the conformity imposed for many years since colonization and not settle for the crumbs thrown their way.

She explained that she is intent on improving efforts to eradicate "the chains of poverty in the world" and said that it "is a lie that if you are born poor, you have to die poor." "That is a lie of colonization that we have had to swallow for many centuries. The way to eradicate poverty is education," said Shakira, director of early childhood education charity "Fundacion Alas."

The singer said she is motivated to prove herself as an artist, to be a good person "every day, to entertain an audience and spread energy," not just because of the pay check.

She added that although she has access to many things, it does not stop her from helping realize the dreams of others.

Shakira is currently in Mexico for her "Sale el Sol" world tour.

Nicole Praises Gaga

Nicole Scherzinger always knew Lady Gaga was destined for great things and thinks she is a "monster" in the "most wonderful way".

The 'Don't Hold Your Breath' hitmaker was supported by the 25-year-old singer while she toured with the Pussycat Dolls early in her career, and she knew the eccentric pop star was always destined for great things.

She said: "We were one of her very first tours. I'm a huge fan. I just love her style and her vibe and her energy.

"I could tell that she was an artist, even when she didn't have a big production or the money. When she was just lying on the floor with a hand-made fairy cane stick or whatever and light-up glasses, I thought, 'She is a monster in the most wonderful, beautiful way.' "

Both the pop stars have worked with record producer RedOne in the past Nicole revealed she loves collaborating with him because he always knows how to make sound "bigger".

She told Attitude magazine: "Working with him has just been unbelievable. Just when you think there's no sound too big, he's able to help you create that. We both had the same vision from the beginning."

Shakira’s rejection from Real Madrid was an April Fool’s joke

Spanish Soccer team Real Madrid have confessed that the decision to no longer play Shakira’s music before home games was in fact a well-orchestrated April fool’s prank, according to El Heraldo.

Colombia Reports, along with other Colombian media, was duped into believing that Shakira’s popular music was taken off the pre match song list. Many had speculated, although it was not confirmed, that her music was spitefully banned due to her relationship with FC Barcelona player Gerard Pique.

Newsletter Murjerdelite reports that Shakira remains extremely popular with the Real Madrid fans despite her affiliation with rivals Barcelona. Her song ‘Waka Waka’ conjures up happy memories of Spain’s victory in the World Cup in South Africa last year.

Other news sources alternatively insist that Real Madrid backed down from the decision as they underestimated the loyalty towards Shakira among their fans. Spanish Sports Daily Marco claims that their opposition to the decision was what prompted the volte-face.

Either way, the Barranquilla born singer's track, Loco, sounded out of the stadium's PA system at the club's most recent home fixture.

With Balloons and Spaceships at Madison Square Garden, LCD Soundsystem Sign Off

LCD Soundsystem's last-ever show, on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, followed the template of their preceding five-night finale run, with a massive three-hour-plus set that stuffed together everything front man James Murphy could think of. But seeing as Saturday really was the finishing line, that epic set felt like the necessary preamble before the last song — which, as everyone in the building could have told you, would be “New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down” — and the collective, cathartic acceptance of the band's mortality. That's not to say that there wasn't great stuff in the preamble — just that, looking back, it'll be hard to remember anything else but the end.

Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart "on a break"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

They play vampire lovers on screen – but it looks like the sun may have set on their real-life affair. Yep, the odd couple – Robert Pattinson and girlfriend Kristen Stewart – are believed to have split.

Or, in showbiz speak, they’re “on a break”. Right.

Apparently all the life’s been sucked out of the Twilight stars’ relationship, and they’ve been on the rocks since February at least.
At the weekend, K-Stew had been expected to attend the Country Music Awards in Las Vegas with her lover. They both had time off but, as with January’s Golden Globe Awards, R-Patz turned up on his own.

The pair are currently filming the final instalment of the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn, in Vancouver. But Robert has been away from the set on a busy promotional tour for his flick with Reese Witherspoon, Water for Elephants.

Last night a studio source said: “Things have been a bit rocky for a while. They both have hectic work schedules, Rob in particular at the moment, and their phone calls were getting fewer and further between. They started to only see each other on set and began to drift apart until a general apathy developed. “The excuses why they couldn’t meet up basically got weaker and weaker, and Rob figured they should officially cool things off and have some time to figure out what they each want.
“There have been a few tears but the pair remain friendly. Kristen is hopeful of a reconciliation once Rob has finished promotion for his latest movie. But as things stand, they’re on a break and just mates.”

Last night, a spokesperson for teen heartthrob actor Robert declined to comment on the split.

The couple first separated back in October 2009, and again last year, and even when they were together on the red carpet, they always looked seriously glum.

Hopefully now they’ll both start to Twilighten up for a change

Bristol Palin’s Nonprofit Paid Her Seven Times What It Spent On Actual Teen Pregnancy Prevention

In 2009, Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol joined a teen pregnancy prevention nonprofit called the Candie’s Foundation. Today, the Associated Press reported that the Candie’s Foundation released its 2009 tax information, revealing that Bristol was paid a salary of $262,500.
But a closer examination of the tax form by ThinkProgress shows that the group disbursed only $35,000 in grants to actual teen pregnancy health and counseling clinics: $25,000 to the Mt. Sinai Adolescent Health Center and $10,000 to the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.

'Borgias' sells worldwide

CBS inks deals in Germany, Italy, Korea and Turkey, as well as pan-regional pacts

CANNES -- The latest small-screen recreation of the Borgias' reign is shaping up to repeat the success of that other recent TV renaissance bodice-ripper "The Tudors."

CBS Studios Intl. announced that Neil Jordan's take on "The Borgias" has now been sold across Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.

Drama, which bowed in the U.S. on Showtime at the weekend, stars Jeremy Irons as scheming medieval monster Pope Alexander VI.

CBSSI said deals had been concluded in Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Korea and Turkey, with pan-region agreements agreed throughout Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

"The Borgias" had already been sold to Sky Atlantic in Blighty and Telecinco in Spain.  CBSSI said skein had delivered Showtime's biggest audience for a freshman drama series preem in seven years.

Jordan scripted "The Borgias" and helmed two of the nine episodes.

Interview with Jeremy Irons

The actor brings his consummate skills to bear on stage and screens large and small - and still, it's the velvety voice that resonates.

Of course Jeremy Irons makes his own cigarettes. He keeps in his pocket a two-sided leather pouch. One half holds the tobacco, the other those dark brown rolling papers favored by the Brits. He is unrepentant about what most everyone labels a vice. In March of 1987, despite her admonishments, he famously puffed away while sitting next to Princess Diana at a charity gala on the U.K.’s National No Smoking Day.

He’s chimney-esque. It’s why we’re sitting outside, mid February in New York City, when the forecast calls for rain. But Irons has the most exquisite vocal cords, and perhaps tar and nicotine are the elements of his phonetical magic. To beat a dead horse here: Up close and in person, his pipes are almost unnerving, having an effect not unlike the enveloping THX surround-sound promo that’s played before movies start.

Irons downplays his golden larynx with a proper Englishman’s manners, but everyone else has taken notice. He’s frequently called upon to narrate spoken-word recordings and documentaries, most recently The Last Lions from National Geographic, about the big cats in Botswana. (Familiar sonantal territory—who can forget his terrifying turn as Scar in The Lion King?) This month, that voice—and the body that houses it—stars in The Borgias, Showtime’s new drama series about a Spanish cardinal who ascended to the Papacy by decidedly Machiavellian means. Let’s hear it for the silver-tongued cads.

Jared Leto as Kurt Cobain

From Jared's blog:

I heard today was the day Kurt passed away 17 years ago. Can’t believe it’s been that long. So grateful for his contribution and inspiration. Not sure I’d be doing this if it weren’t for him. He gave us all permission to create no matter what our skill set and reminded me that dreams are possible. Thanks for that. This made me recall a short piece of film I shot when I heard they were making a film celebrating his life. I made it to explore the character and explore creative possibilities. I never sent it to the studio or to anyone but thought I’d share it now…

More Violence in "16 and Pregnant" Season 3

Jenelle Evans may be a tough act to follow.

The trash-talking, pot-smoking star of "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom 2" has badly damaged MTV's claim that its super-popular teen pregnancy shows were "cautionary tales . . . meant to cast a light on the harsh realities teens face when raising children at too young an age."

Evans has racked up charges of breaking and entering, stealing credit cards and possession of drugs in just her first year of MTV fame. And she faces up to six months in jail for her part in a brutal, videotaped beat down of a former friend that was all over the Internet last week.

Evans, 19, has been a ratings juggernaut for the network.

A new crop of underage moms was unveiled last week in a two-minute trailer for the upcoming season of "16 and Pregnant" -- and the previews promise more violence.

Gwen Stefani Covers 'Elle' May 2011

Gwen Stefani graces the cover of Elle’s May issue, on newsstands April 12.

Here’s what the 41-year-old singer and fashion designer had to share with the mag’s Women in Music issue:

On her appearance: “I mean, I’m very vain. That would be my middle name. Of course I am, you know what I mean? I love the visual.”

On her marriage to Gavin Rosdale: “The first time we ever kissed was right around Valentine’s Day. We were in New Orleans on tour. So, yeah, I always think about that because it’s unbelievable that we’ve been able to stay together. I feel so proud of us. It’s one of my biggest achievements.”

On whether Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy Perry have taken a page out of her playbook when it comes to style: “Really? I don’t see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on. I see these girls as more going for the sex-symbol thing. I was more, in the band, like a tomboy. Of course, I think every girl is sexy, so there’s going to be a little of that. But I see a lot of younger artists going more toward the sexy thing.”

FYI: Gwen is wearing a stretch wool dress with leather trim from Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci with her own earrings.

Pandora subpoenaed in federal investigation into smartphone applications

A federal grand jury is opening a Pandora’s Box of questions regarding the privacy of smartphone users’ data.

The popular music streaming company said Monday it has been subpoenaed after claims that smartphone applications are illegally sharing user information with advertisers and other third-parties.

Pandora said they were not the specific target and other subpoenas are thought to have been issued, reported the Wall Street Journal.

Some smartphone apps have been known to transfer user data including location, age and gender to advertisers without explicit consent.

The Journal reported in December that Pandora and others had been releasing information about users and the phones they use.

According to the AP, the Commerce Department has proposed the creation of an Internet “privacy bill of rights.” The bill would set specific rules for companies like Pandora that gather and often distribute user information.

The Federal Trade Commission has gone as far as calling for a “Do Not Track” option that would let users cut off advertisers and other companies from their data.

But in SEC filings, Pandora rebuffed that option and said it “could significantly hinder our ability to collect and use data relating to listeners.”

Meredith Vieira most likely leaving "Today"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Meredith Vieira is expected to leave NBC's Today when her current contract expires later this year, according to a source familiar with her plans.

Vieira has been in discussions with NBC News executives for several months about extending her deal, which is up in September. But the co-anchor is said to be weary of the demanding early morning hours and is ready to move on. Vieira has often said that the health of her husband, who has battled multiple sclerosis and cancer, will be a factor in considering her future on the program.

The network is not giving up hope that a deal can be reached. "NBC is doing everything they can to convince her to stay," says one person with knowledge of the discussions. One network insider noted that Vieira is beloved by the Today staff and crew, as well as NBC News management. Officially, the network said in a statement: "The Today show anchors are currently under contract and firmly in place."

NBC News insiders say if Vieira does leave, Today news anchor Ann Curry is the leading candidate to join Matt Lauer as co-anchor of the program.

Also on the line-up are Jeff Davis, Chip Esten, Jonathan Mangum, Sean Masterson and Brad Sherwood.

As usual, the group will be joined by actors who will try their hand at improv comedy. MadTV's Heather Anne Campbell is slated to appear, in addition to Two and a Half Men's Charlie Sheen.

That's right. Charlie Sheen will be debuting on the April 12 episode of Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza. He joined the cast live onstage last January, when they were taping at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. That means we better prepare ourselves for an onslaught of tiger blood jokes for the evening.

But if you're still not sold on Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza (and we can't see why), check out the special BuddyTV sneak peek below! While some beloved improv games will be included in each half-hour episode, there are a lot more new ones to keep us tuned in. One of which is this crazy musical number:

So if you're missing the Greatest Hits sketch or maybe even Scenes from a Hat, you can't miss Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza. The series premieres April 11 at 8pm on GSN.

I'm a huge fan of Whose Line and I've been praying for them to come back for years. DREAM COME TRUE ;___;

Lionsgate defends their choices for Peeta and Gale.

In a peculiar addendum to the news release issued Monday announcing Josh Hutcherson as Peeta and and Liam Hemsworth as Gale in the upcoming "The Hunger Games" film, Lionsgate has issued another release with the filmmakers' responses to the choices.

Are they defending their moves or just showering the obligatory praise? Read the comments below and judge for yourselves. (Of course, the real test will come when we get to see the finished product.)

Director Gary Ross: "When I read the book, I thought Peeta would be the hardest role to cast, and I feel so lucky that we found someone who embodies every aspect of such a complex character. I can't wait to work with Josh."

"Hunger Games" author Suzanne Collins: "I was fortunate enough to be in the room with Gary Ross when Josh came in to audition. Three lines into the read I knew he'd be fantastic. Josh totally captured Peeta's temperament, his sense of humor and his facility for language. I'm thrilled to have him aboard."

Producer Nina Jacobson: "Gale is a young man who uses words very sparingly, so the onus was on the actor we cast to capture him by showing, not telling. This was accomplished so beautifully in Suzanne's writing, and Liam was able to translate it so naturally to the screen. At the same time Gale's journey across the three books transforms him, and Liam's performance left no doubt that he would take us there."

still icky about Liam being cast, but I think Josh deserves a chance.

"If he is capable, he can make his own money...If he is not, then he will just be wasting my money," said Chan.

Rihanna Sickened By First Naked Photo Leak

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Rihanna was so shocked and sickened the first time candid photos she had taken of herself and sent to then-boyfriend Chris Brown were leaked online, she locked herself away in an airport restroom.

The S&M hitmaker had just landed in Hawaii in 2009 and was checking her cellphone for messages when friends and aides alerted her to the scandal surrounding the graphic shots of herself in various states of undress.

Rihanna recalls, "I could barely stand. I went to the first bathroom I saw and just sat in the stall with the door open.

"People kept coming in and staring at me sitting on the toilet bowl. I was mortified. I didn't even want to leave the airport."

But she insists that scandal and others that have followed haven't stopped her sending saucy snaps of herself naked to lovers - but her men have become a lot more guarded.

She tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I haven't gotten a d**k picture in a long time. I think people are a little afraid. It can turn out bad."

Ironically, Brown was caught, literally, with his pants down recently when a naked photo of himself was leaked online.

Jessica Szohr Stars in New Dove Campaign

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Raise your hand if you love your underarms! Gossip Girl‘s Jessica Szohr is doing just that, serving as the face (and oh-so-soft skin) of Dove’s new campaign for Ultimate Go Sleeveless deodorant. According to the Wall Street Journal, Dove’s parent brand, Unilever, conducted a survey and found that 93 percent of women find their armpits unattractive. So Dove is working to challenge that statistic, daring people to try their product for softer, smoother skin in just five days. Going hand-in-hand with the challenge is a Facebook campaign, fronted by Szohr, which asks women to design their own sleeveless top for a chance to win a New York City shopping spree with the actress. (Runners up will have their specially designed tops created for family and friends.)

And the BS articles about "X Factor" continue

In Tuesday's random "X Factor"-related rumor, you can now add Demi Lovato to the list of people reportedly attached to what many believe to be the final spot on the panel. The 18-year old Disney Channel star (per Perez Hilton) has met with Fox executives about the gig, and would reportedly "love" to take part in Simon Cowell's new show.

So is this true? With Demi's massive fan base, it's not hard to believe that she would have at least sat down with executives at some point. She also provides that young connection that the current panel of L.A. Reid, Cowell, and Cheryl Cole may not necessarily appeal to.

On the other hand, you also have to wonder if Lovato may actually be considered for the hosting gig just as much as a judge (similar to what has happened lately with Taylor Momsen). With her uplifting personality, she would be a face of the franchise that could stick around for a while and would be able to encourage the contestants after they take a beating from the judges. The real question is if Demi would be harsh enough in a judging role, in particular since she seems to be so much about love at this moment.

Kelly Osbourne talks Christina Aguilera's private photo leak

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Reality star Kelly Osbourne has spoken out about Christina Aguilera's private photo leak, claiming she would be 'mortified' if the same thing happened to her.

The 26-year-old wrote in her Closer column about the alleged leak of Aguilera's pictures and warned stars to be cautious about keeping their private lives private.

She said: 'Last week, Christina Aguilera reportedly left her camera memory card in a French hotel and now intimate pictures of her and her boyfriend Matt Rutler, are being touted around. I'd be mortified if that happened to me, you have to be careful about what's precious to you. There are things about me that nobody knows - I work hard to keep parts of my life private.'

Keanu Reeves: Ready for "Bill & Ted 3"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Stepping out for quite the evening, Keanu Reeves was spotted at an afterparty following the screening of “Henry’s Crime” at the Cooper Square Hotel in Los Angeles, CA on Monday (April 4).

The “Matrix” actor looked to be channeling his inner Johnny Depp as he sported a scruffy, long haired look as he posed for pictures and spoke with press before heading inside the fete which was hosted by the Cinema Society and DeLeon Tequila.

During an interview with MTV News, Reeves spoke of some new details concerning the third installment of “Bill and Ted.”

“I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft,” he said and added with a laugh, “No pressure, guys!”

Britney Spears - The slow, sad decline of a pop princess

Britney Spears released her new album, “Femme Fatal,” this week and announced plans for a tour. The Canadian stops are July 1 in Vancouver, July 4 in Winnipeg, August 11 in Montreal and August 13 in Toronto.
Celebrity that is unaccompanied by talent -and that covers much of the present-day pop culture catalogue, from Snooki to Angelina Jolie -is generally reliant on several factors, among them timing, cleavage, outrageousness and the ability to reinvent oneself.

The first three, for instance, are the stuff of reality television, Kim Kardashian and Charlie Sheen, while the latter is the salvation of entertainers like Madonna, who without a clever wardrobe department, a graphic book called Sex and the forgiving nature of Auto-Tune might not now be enjoying the fame and fortune she does.

And so it is for Britney Spears, the Madonna of her generation and the most famous of the 1990s stable of Disney acolytes to have been launched into the unforgiving galaxy of superstardom only to watch their light fade into the black hole of obscurity.

Tori Spelling looks a little deflated as she attends celebrity party

After going under the knife a couple of times and spending thousands of dollars, Tori Spelling should have the best boobs in the world.

But clearly money cannot buy perfection, unfortunately not in the actress's case anyway, which was all too clear to see last night.

The reality TV star looked as though she could do with re-visiting her surgeon, as her breasts not only looked a little deflated but one of them had a strange dent at the top of it.

Dented: Tori Spelling displayed a deflated and strange-looking cleavage as she attended a celebrity event in New York last night
