'The Big Bang Theory': Why is Leonard with Priya?

Yes, she’s hot. Like, ridiculously hot. Out-of-Leonard’s-league hot. I realize this, fellow Big Bang Theory fans. But that can’t possibly be the only reason that Leonard is interested in Raj’s sister Priya, right? After spending three seasons watching Penny and Leonard’s will-they-won’t-they-wow-they-just-did-now-what?, I’ll admit I was curious, and excited, about the prospect of a new love interest for the sitcom’s (much smarter than) everyman. (Not to mention thankful for the the fact that the show’s female perspective was about to get slightly more diverse.) But then the series gave us… Priya. The smart, grounded, practical — and did I mention hot? — Priya. Problem is, in the geeky, eccentric world of Big Bang, practical just doesn’t cut it.

ABC Preparing to Cancel All My Children and One Life to Live?

TV Guide Magazine has learned that the network is not just planning to cancel AMC in the coming days but will very likely cancel One Life to Live, as well. Word is, ABC Daytime chief Brian Frons has a talk show and reality show lined up for fall — both of them much cheaper to produce than soaps — and he needs to clear the schedule. More disturbing, insiders say Frons has been extremely cavalier about all this, showing no signs of sorrow or regret about a drastic decision that will leave General Hospital as the network's only daytime soap. When contacted for comment, ABC Daytime PR chief Jori Petersen told us, "I have no announcement, and these are just rumors that you are hearing. I am sorry to hear that they're escalating but I cannot confirm anything."

SAVE OUR SOAPS! FIRE FRONS!!!! OLTL and AMC both had AMAZING episodes today!

Emily Browning defends Sucker Punch

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Actress Emily Browning is fuming after her new movie Sucker Punch was labelled "sexist" in its portrayal of women, as she's adamant the story shows "girls breaking free".

The new Zack Snyder movie stars Browning as a girl called Baby Doll, who is locked up in an asylum after she is accused of causing her sister's death. The hospital is later revealed to be a brothel as the lead character plots her escape in a series of imaginative dream sequences.

The movie has met with mixed reviews and some critics have taken aim at the film's erotic undertones, with movie magazine Variety branding it "fantasy fodder for 13-year-old guys" with the female cast dressed in "demeaning fetish gear".

But Browning, 22, is adamant she doesn't agree with accusations the film objectifies women, telling Britain's Bbc, "I find the idea that it's sexist really bizarre. The sexism is within the story of the film. Within the brothel, the girls are being objectified but that doesn't mean the film is doing the same. It's really about these girls breaking free."

Browning also shrugs off the swathe of negative reviews, adding, "I think there would be nothing worse than people feeling ambivalent towards the film, if they're saying, 'It's all right, it's OK.' That's not interesting to me. I'm so OK that some people really love it and some really hate it. I want people to question it and have something to think about it (sic)."

Jeremy Irons on finding the good side of bad guys

Jeremy Irons looked up from the latest tiny cigarette he’d rolled and raised an eyebrow. It’s amazing how much meaning some people can convey with one bit of facial hair. We’d been talking about the licentiousness of Rodrigo Borgia, the character Irons plays in the new nine-part series The Borgias, who schemed his way into the Vatican as Pope Alexander VI in 1492. Rodrigo caroused, slept around, left his by-blows all over Spain and Italy. It really was a different time, wasn’t it? Right?

“He did have a mistress,” said Irons in that famous, just-rolled-out-of-the-wrong-bed voice – the voice of Scar, the bad lion, and Claus von Bulow, the bad husband, and now Borgia, the bad pope. “But I have a Cardinal friend at the moment who's had a mistress for 12 years. He's a Cardinal today, and a great man!”

"Pissed Off" Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett: Where's My Invite to Hef's Wedding?

Hugh Hefner might want to start helping fiancée Crystal Harris more with the wedding planning.

See, Hef's pal and former girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett has yet to receive an invite to the summer ceremony.

And she's not too happy about it...

"I haven't gotten my save the date yet," Kendra exclusively tells us. "I'm not joking, I'm really pissed off about it."

"If I don't get a save the date, I have another wedding to attend that same day," she continues. "I got a save the date from one of my closest friends for that date. I'm planning on going to Hef's but I haven't gotten the save the date for that same date. I'm getting kind of antsy because I need to pick which wedding to go to."

So is she really that PO'ed at Hef?

"No! It's Crystal that does the wedding planning. She's the girl! If she doesn't give me a save the date soon I'm going to have to put in my save the date with the other wedding."

Now before we declare a Code Red, remember that back in January, the hot mama had nothing but kind words for the couple.

"You can just tell there's a whole other meaning of love in [Hef]," Kendra said. "I feel like she's the girl for him."

is perfect woodland creature Amy Adams really too old to play Lois Lane?

The internet has been buzzing this week over the announcement that Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams will play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's upcoming "Superman: Man of Steel" movie. Overall, fans seem to love the casting -- but if there was one negative to be found, it was a frequent complaint regarding the age difference (nine years) between Adams and her on-screen Superman, Henry Cavill.

But does it matter?

Sailor Moon's Takeuchi Draws Messages for Quake Area

Naoko Takeuchi offers sympathy for friends, children, mothers affected by March 11 quake

Manga creator Naoko Takeuchi posted three messages on March 20 to express her feelings for friends, acquaintances, children, and mothers affected by the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster. Takeuchi, a mother of two herself, wrote that she sympathizes with babies, children, expecting mothers, and mothers raising babies in the affected areas and wishes that they receive enough support during the crisis. Takeuchi married Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter creator Yoshihiro Togashi in 1999; Togashi offered his own message of support on the Shonen Jump website.
Takeuchi's sketches appear in the revamp of Bandai's official Sailor Moon website, which is marking the 20th anniversary of the franchise this year. The magical girl manga's precursor, Codename: Sailor V, debuted in Kodansha's Run-Run magazine in 1991. Mixx Entertainment, the company that eventually became Tokyopop, licensed the 18-volume Sailor Moon manga for North America from 1997 to 2005. Afterward, the series remained out of print in the region until Kodansha USA's March 18 announcement of its North American relaunch of the manga this upcoming September.

Lily Collins is in talks to join Relativity's 'Snow White'

After a long search, Relativity Media has found its Snow White, as Lily Collins is in talks to star in Tarsem Singh's untitled 3D pic based on the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale.

Melissa Wallack and Jason Keller wrote the pic, which Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh will produce along with Bernie Goldman and Brett Ratner.

Julia Roberts is set to play the Queen and Armie Hammer was recently cast as Prince Andrew Alcott.

Pic finds Snow White banding together with seven quarrelsome dwarfs to reclaim her kingdom.

"Snow White" is scheduled to begin production this May, and Relativity will release the film on June 29, 2012.

Collins broke out playing Sandra Bullock's daughter in "The Blind Side." She next stars in Screen Gems' "Priest" and Lionsgate's Taylor Lautner thriller "Abduction." Collins is also set to star in Screen Gems' "Mortal Instruments," which she will shoot immediately following "Snow White."

Collins is repped by CAA.

Confirmed: Lily Collins heads into the woods with Tarsem for 'Snow White'

I'll be writing up my impressions of the presentation for the new Paul Bettany film "Priest" a little later tonight, but one of his co-stars in the movie is making news tonight, and at the end of the presentation, I had a chance to ask her about it directly.

As the event was winding down, there was a Q&A in the front of the theater with Cam Gigandet, Paul Bettany, director Scott Stewart, and Min Woo-Hyung, the creator of the graphic novel, and they were joined by Lily Collins, who is probably best known to audiences as the daughter of Sandra Bullock in "The Blind Side."

Beyoncé Knowles' dad was her manager for two decades—since her Destiny's Child days—until she sacked him on Tuesday. Their relationship was reportedly strained after Matthew Knowles admitted to having an affair with Alexsandra Wright, who gave birth to their child. After the news, Matthew and Beyonce's mother Tina filed for divorce. But Beyoncé insisted the decision had nothing to do with tense family relations. "He is my father and I love my dad dearly," she said, before adding that they were only parting ways on a "business level." She thanked him for his influence on her career (he saw her through three blockbuster solo albums, 16 Grammys, and three major film roles) but Matthew probably won't get a cut of his daughter's latest, A Star Is Born.

The plan is for her to shoot Snow White before she films Mortal Instruments for Screen Gems. Britney Spears Wants Jason Trawick Proposal

Britney Spears has reportedly spoken to friends about her desire to become engaged to boyfriend Jason Trawick.

The 'Hold It Against Me' singer, who released her seventh studio album Femme Fatale this week, is said to have told those close to her that she wants Trawick to propose.

A source told The Sun: "After all her ups and downs Brit is craving stability - hence her broodiness at the moment - and she just wants to settle down with Jason and do it all again the right way.

"Now her album is out and her tour is almost sorted she feels like getting married again and having more children is the next step."

Spears was previously married to former backing dancer Kevin Federline between 2004 and 2007 and is mother to sons Sean Preston, 5, and Jayden James, 4, from the marriage.

The 29-year-old also had a 55-hour marriage with childhood friend Jason Alexander in January 2004.

Trawick and Spears, who have been dating since last year, previously denied that they had planned to wed before the end of 2010.

E! News Refutes that Adam Lambert was Booted from Gaga's BDay Party

E! News is refuting at least one rumor surrounding the Gaga-Lambert rumored party debacle.

Was Adam Lambert kicked out of Lady Gaga's birthday bash? This is SO FALSE. The For Your Entertainment singer was less than entertaining and allegedly rather drunk according to US Weekly (who got all their info from the Douche Who Cannot Be Named), but a source told E! News Gaga's peeps did not kick Adam out of the party.

Lambert tweeted about the eventful night, describing a fist bump gone wrong. "Was going for a celebratory gesture," he explains, "but instead by fist is all bruised and [the venue] has a hole in the ceiling."  (source)

A few facts gotten wrong by every article regarding this whole she-bang:

Adam did not tweet about punching the ceiling in response to the rumors. He tweeted about it three days before the story about his other behavior was reported. In fact, it took almost five days for his supposedly disruptive behavior to be talked about by anyone, while the seemingly mild in comparison ceiling punch was mentioned offhandedly in the initial news rounds about the wild party. Why did it take so long if it was such a big party foul? (source)

Also, while Adam was not necessarily invited, he did not crash the party as he came with other party goers. He attended a party for Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters earlier that night and went with them to Gaga's birthday party. (source)

Last, Lady Gaga's birthday party was not the same night as the concert Lambert attended; it was the next night. Not only did he attend, he experience the concert from the comforts of a VIP area. Facts: US Weekly doesn't even try to check their validity or accuracy. I guess their source took some liberties with the truth. (source)

Fifth Resident Evil Film Officially Unveiled, Might Get A Game Adaptation

The Resident Evil films are incredibly successful and after last year's Afterlife broke every box office record set by its predecessors, Screen Games quickly began planning a fifth film. Today, the official title and logo for the film, dubbed Resident Evil: Begins was unveiled. The fifth film was originally thought to be a sequel to Afterlife, but it would seem Screen Gems has decided to go with the long-rumored reboot of the series. Begins was rumored to be a reboot of the entire film franchise, where it would possibly take the series back to its horror roots (something the gaming community has wanted the Resident Evil video games to do for quite some time), and now that's been officially confirmed. Begins takes us back to 1998 when it all started and before the events in first Resident Evil film. It stars Milla Jovovich as Alice, before she became a super-powered heroine alongside Sienna Guillory, who was confirmed last month to be reprising her role as Jill Valentine. For the first time in the series' history Alice will not be the main character. Instead Begins will follow Ms. Valentine as she finds herself in the midst of the major viral outbreak caused by Umbrella.
The most surprising announcement is the possibility of a video game based on Resident Evil: Begins. Supposedly, the game will follow both Jill and Alice before the outbreak. As Jill, you'll be tasked with slowing the spreading of the T-virus and as Alice your goal will be to try to reveal Umbrella and the illegal work they've been doing in the underground Hive facility. Jill and Alice's paths never cross, well, not until the events in Apocalypse, so the game's essentially telling two very different stories.
Resident Evil: Begins opens nationwide on September 14, 2012, in 3-D.

I'm excited. These movies are a not so guilt pleasure for me. Also, I support anything that puts more Milla on a screen.

Scream Trilogy Released On Blu-Ray!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Is there any film genre as self-aware and often intentionally ironic as horror? It almost seems a rite of passage that new writer-directors want to cut their teeth (as well as various other body parts of victims) on making a horror film, and more often than not these newcomers like to traffic in hoary clichés, if only to prove that "they can do it, too." How many movies have you seen which begin with the hapless, frightened female running from an unseen attacker, only to meet her demise before the opening credits roll? If you're like most people, probably more than you can count. But that's just the tip of the cliché iceberg in terms of horror movies. There's a virtual laundry list of tropes that anyone who's seen enough horror films can recite, including things like gruesome deaths after sex, killers emerging from shadowy corners, and, of course, the inevitable "rise from the grave" which almost always caps films of this ilk, when just as you're beginning to relax after the killer has been vanquished, he miraculously comes back from the dead to try to wreak at least a little more havoc before he shuffles off this mortal coil. Part of what made the Scream franchise so bracing and enjoyable, then, was how it relished, even wallowed, in horror movie clichés, while it simultaneously plumbed those very clichés for a surprising number of bona fide scares. The first Scream took 1996 audiences by storm and ushered in a whole new wave of self-aware and intentionally ironic horror films. But in many ways, the first Scream is the best of the lot, not just of this new subgenre, but in terms of the Scream trilogy itself. Writer Kevin Williamson and director Wes Craven fashion a near perfect blend of thrills and laughs, and the goofiness that resides just beneath the surface of even the most violent sequences makes the first Scream a hoot (for wont of a better word).

Ark Music Factory have another hit - in Australia!

Ark Factory - or the house that Rebecca Black built - has come under a lot of scrutiny since "Friday" exploded. Most of the coverage has been severely critical or at best condescending but they must be doing something right because they have another hit on their hands! Over the past week Alana Lee's "Butterflies" has slowly crept its way up Australian iTunes and reached number 124. That might not sound particularly impressive but to put it into perspective - Kylie Minogue's "Better Than Today" failed to even break into the top 200. It's a real feat for an independent pop release to get this far and the 14-year-old is doing it with no promotion or radio play.

Are 'Idol' Hopefuls Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart a Couple?

It looks like there may be some romance brewing off-stage of 'American Idol.'

InTouch Weekly reports that an 'Idol' insider has revealed to them that contestants Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart are quite the cozy couple behind the camera.

The insider is quoted saying, "Most of their downtime is spent together, and they have a very touchy-feely relationship."

The person continues, "They're always lying on each other when they're around the other contestants, and everybody thinks they're hooking up."

Last week, the 'Idol' judges shocked the world when they saved Abrams from elimination, and Jennifer Lopez dished to Ryan Seacrest about the decision.

"We knew that it was kind of a radical decision because it was so early in the season, but to be quite honest...that is one decision that I haven't lost one ounce of sleep over," Lopez revealed on Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Wednesday morning.

On this week's elimination episode, we got to see just how much the save impacted Abrams.

Even after the show finished taping, Abrams was wobbly and struggling to come to terms with the gift he'd been given. So much so that at the urging of his doctor, he had to go and lie down for a bit.

When he finally reunited with the contestants, he told them, "I was ready to just be watching you guys at home."

Britney Spears Slammed as 'Just a Puppet'

Britney Spears has been described by sources as a corporate "puppet", who is more interested in smoking cigarettes and watching television than making music.

A former friend of Spears, who claimed to witness the recording of her latest album Femme Fatale, argued that the 'Till The World Ends' singer only seemed comfortable singing other people's lyrics and participating in recycled dance routines.

The insider told The Mirror: "She was basically like a puppet who would be told do this, do that, and then be asked to sit down again. It was sad.

"From what I saw, she does nothing more than lend her name and celebrity to the production. That's all she seems either willing or able to contribute... Britney's job is basically to follow other people's instructions.

"When Britney gets home, she does not appear to have much interest in music. The whole time I was with her, she would spend most of her free time doing nothing but watching TV and smoking cigarettes."

Eric Zentner, 30, was struck and killed at approximately 3:45 a.m. Saturday when his car ran out of gas on the California 101 freeway near Buellton as he was en route to visit family in Sacramento.

A spokesman for the California Highway Patrol tells E! News authorities are searching for a motorist behind the wheel of a light blue, mid-'90s Dodge Caravan which they believe hit the Vogue mainstay in the dark as he was walking to a nearby farm to get assistance.

"It was a hit-and-run accident," said the spokesman. For whatever reason, he was out in the middle of the highway and got hit by an oncoming vehicle.Collapse )

Charlie Sheen kicks off 'Torpedo of Truth' tour in Detroit

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Detroit (CNN) -- Charlie Sheen, the actor and self-described perfect batting warlock, opened his 20-city "Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option Show" in Detroit Saturday night.

After a dismal opening act, Sheen took the stage to thunderous applause amid a big multimedia show. He called the crowd to rise for the singing of the national anthem. That was followed by an appearance by two women who were kissing each other onstage.

Sheen chomped on Twizzlers, donned a shirt from the TV show from which he was recently fired, then took the shirt off and told the women to burn it. They complied, dropping the shirt into a bucket and setting it on fire onstage. The crowd ate it up.

Sheen also launched a profanity-laden rant while standing in front of a mock seal, which read "Warlock States of Sheen." The actor tried to sell the crowd on a quote-generating app of his more famous and outrageous sayings.

Vintage Sheen, perhaps, but nevertheless surprising for fans of the eccentric performer who's managed to turn his professional and personal tribulations into a traveling road show.

Prince Logan Lerman @ WonderCon '11

During the press event for THREE MUSKETEERS during WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco, Logan Lerman, who plays D’Artagnan in the film, has been asked numerous times what will differentiate this version from the others that have come out over the years.

“It is more contemporary, it is the untold chapter,” Lerman says. “They are looked at as the navy seals or the James Bond of the time. They have all sorts of gadgets and gizmos that have never been seen before in any version.”

Lerman also notes that in addition to the gadgets and such, a number of futuristic vehicles for the time will be in THREE MUSKETEERS such as flying machines. And the weapons used will be something that also has not been ventured before.

Unlike Lerman’s other big budget action movie, PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS, which utilized bushel loads of CGI, THREE MUSKETEERS is more down to earth, literally.

“We shot on all of these real locations throughout Europe, they are all real castles and real locations,” Lerman says. “We didn’t have to recreate anything.”

Regarding the prospects of a sequel to last year's successful PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS, “I don’t know anything about it,” he says. “I haven’t heard anything but I’m excited about it.”

Well, not a heck of a lot, but let’s hope they greenlight the sequel soon or Lerman’s going to be all grown up.

Sigourney Weaver believes in aliens

The actress - who is most famous for playing Ellen Ripley, the heroine who battles the deadly, acid-blooded xenomorphs in the 'Alien' movie franchise - is convinced extraterrestrials exist and believes the US government actively suppresses information about UFOs

She told German magazine TV Spielfilm: 'We are not alone in the universe. I think there's a department in our (the US) government which is exclusively dedicated to quashing reports about aliens. And that's so unfair. It would be nice if we weren't just able to read about it in the tabloids.'

The 61-year-old actress - who can currently be seen in sci-fi spoof 'Paul' with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost - is not the only star who believes in aliens.

Keanu Reeves has previously claimed he has no doubt there are other life forms in the universe.

He said: 'I think there are extraterrestrial life forms in the cosmos. I think it's more likely than not. The cosmos is a pretty big place.'

Robbie Williams has claimed to have had several close encounters of the third kind in the last few years, including being visited by spaceships on three occasions.

The singer has said: 'Once, I was lying on my sun lounger outside at night. Above me was a square thing that passed over my head slightly and shot off.'

Charlie Sheen's Show: Let the Wild Rumpus Begin

WINNING!! Real Time...

Or not so much.

Perhaps his brand of "Charlie Sheen" was tainted with a little something else?

Tour on the Motor City on Saturday night to a crowd that began with an adoring standing ovation and concluded with booing and walk-outs. The padded and disjointed show was a hodgepodge of video clips and Sheen-isms that felt hastily assembled and misjudged the patience of even hardcore fans. Below is our timeline from Detroit:
10:05 — Sheen is composing a live tweet. More comments from people leaving early: “I was expecting a comedy show.” “It’s just like hanging out at his house,” says a man wearing an “I Believe in Tiger Blood” T-shirt.
10:03 — The show is now an unmitigated disaster. People are leaving early. Attendee Chris Acchione, who came all the way from Toronto for the show, says, “He’s making a fool of himself. Is there a bigger loser in the world? He’ll be [begging] Chuck Lorre for his job back by the end of the week.”
9:50 — The show appears to be almost over. More padding. He plays a video that intercuts his 20/20 interview with new footage. It’s amusing at first, but drags on too long.
9:43 — Sheen tells the audience, “You paid your hard-earned money without knowing what this show was about.” He asks if people have any questions. A girl from the audience asks for his best pornstar story. Sheen doesn’t want to tell that one. He’s starts telling a story about getting his car stolen — he says the story involves crack — but nobody wants to hear it.

Johnny Depp thinks Penelope Cruz is a good madre and amiga.

Johnny Depp Calls Penelope Cruz a 'Loyal and True Friend'

Johnny Depp only had nice things to say about his dear friend Penelope Cruz while she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. The actor called her a "loyal and true friend" and "phenomenal mommy" during his speech at the ceremony. Aww!

The actor said about his Blow co-star (totally forgot they were in this movie together for some reason) (via People.com): "She's an inconceivably phenomenal mommy, which I've witnessed firsthand, and it's pretty incredible. She's as loyal and true a friend as anyone could ever dream of and I'm very privileged to be able to have her in my life."

The friendly feelings are mutual. Penelope thanked her actor pal in her acceptance speech. "I came to Los Angeles for the first time in 1994. I spoke no English. I only knew how to say two sentences: One was, 'How are you?' The other was, 'I want to work with Johnny Depp,' " she said. "In the last 10 years I've worked with him twice, and that has improved my English."

Penelope gave birth to her first child in January, and hubby Javier Bardem was also present at the unveiling Friday to support his gal. She's the first Spanish-born actress to get her own star and thanked her family in her speech, "and of course my wonderful husband and my son for making me so happy every day" she said.

Also, saw this quote from her in the newest Us Weekly and loled irl at the thought of her at home by herself rapping to this song in her heavy accent:

I like rapping at karaoke. But I only know one song...Eminem: 'Two trailer park girls go round the outside.' That one. A lot of people are embarrassed to say they like karaoke, but I have a karaoke machine at home, and I'm one of those people that does it by themselves."

Hawthorne and former Alias star Michael Vartan is married

 Michael Vartan Is Married

The former Alias star married Lauren Skaar, whom he met two years ago at a Whole Foods in L.A., at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, Calif., on Saturday.

"My family was thrilled," Vartan tells PEOPLE. "They love Lauren and could not be happier. Now all my mother talks about is grandchildren."

Adds Skaar: "Our families both took an immediate liking to our partners and knew probably before we did that this was serious and going somewhere."

Vartan, who currently stars in Hawthorne, popped the question in New York in March of last year. But according to Skaar, the two didn't start dating immediately.

"We met at a grocery store in L.A.," she says. "Michael approached me after some well calculated "stalking," as I like to call it. We didn't date right away. I wouldn't give him my number but did take his e-mail address, and we didn't see each other until a few months after our first meeting. That was almost two years ago."

At Saturday's ceremony, the groom's Alias costar Victor Garber was a groomsman, and Vartan, 42, wore a two button Giorgio Armani tuxedo with a classic white pique tuxedo shirt and black bow tie.

Cheryl Cole confirmed for US X Factor role?!?!

Cheryl Cole was “double chuffed” last night after hearing she HAS landed a job on US X Factor – ending months of feverish speculation.

Simon Cowell worked flat-out to persuade TV network bosses to offer her the deal.

But what cracked it was how many Americans in the street had taken the Geordie beauty to their hearts. Fears that they did not know the Girls Aloud singer started to vanish when TV bosses saw the public flocking to auditions for the show.

House M.D. Season 7- Too Little, Too Late?

Television Collision: House’s One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

A lot of sighing occurred before I sat down to write this article. I didn’t want to write it, but I felt it had to be done, no matter how much it upset me or how much effort it took.
It’s been a long, long fall from grace for House M.D. (cue Mad Men opening credits sequence and its falling cut-out man) and I believe the show is still falling.

I’ve been loyal to this show, which I once heralded as maybe the best medical drama ever, my number one show of the year 2008, but I believe I have pretty much had it.
Any TV show that is on long enough, especially if it operates on a somewhat procedural level, is bound to wear and tear a little as it loses its novelty and inevitably presents us with “more of the same”. It’s not easy keeping a juggernaut show interesting, while simultaneously pleasing those viewers who have been on board since the start and are hesitant about change.

Man! I used to love this series with a violent passion. And while most of the actors and actresses involved still remain fabulous it's so painfully obvious that this season is seriously lacking in both the "Awesome" and "Non-Sucking" department.

Oh BTW- if anyone here is both from New York and a fan of RSL- "Born Yesterday" begins previews @ the Cort Theater on March 31 and opens on April 24 ; )
