Lindsay Lohan is blasting reports that she's agreed to strip down to her birthday suit for a full-frontal photo spread in a "sex book" ... calling the whole idea "gross."
TMZ has learned ... Lohan is telling friends she would "never do a sex book" ... despite reports that she signed a multi-million dollar deal to pose with James Franco in a series of "graphic" photos for a Madonna-esque book with photographer Terry Richardson.
However, we've learned Lohan HAS agreed to a milder photo shoot with Richardson ... in a book about the "glamor and history" of Hollywood.
No word if Franco is involved in that shoot ... but it's probably a better career move than hosting the Oscars.
Lol dis bitch.

Spain's only Miss Universe dies at 56
Beauty queen turned actress Amparo Muñoz passes away after long illness
Amparo Muñoz, the only Spaniard to be crowned Miss Universe, has died at her parents' Málaga home after a long battle against a disease that her family refused to disclose. She was 56 years old.
"She was surrounded by her family at all times," said her brother Pedro Muñoz. "We request complete privacy at the funeral."
Muñoz, who worked as an actress following her beauty pageant victory in 1974, had a history of drug abuse and run-ins with the law. But in the end, she asked to be remembered for her glory years, when she hobnobbed with celebrities from the film and art worlds. A painting of her dating back to this period hangs in her parents' hallway.
During the last few weeks of her life, she barely stepped outside the door, except to go to Carlos Haya hospital in the company of one of her sisters. She also spent long periods of time at the apartment of her last partner, in a run-down neighborhood called Palma-Palmilla. But for the majority of the last 18 months, she lived like a recluse at her parents' home.

Michael Fassbender in New York City on the set of the Steve McQueen directed film SHAME (2011). In SHAME Fassbender plays a fellow by the name of Brandon, described as a 30-something man living in New York, whose addiction to pornography threatens to destroy his romantic life. He meets an “extremely beautiful,” “very confident,” black woman, with an “unwitting sexuality,” who is “clearly attracted to Brandon.” The pair apparently date, and eventually develop a relationship, although she is unaware of his inability to connect with a woman on a more than superficial level, thanks to his porn addiction.

The comedian, who skewered Sheen during his infamous Golden Globes monologue, jokes the hosting duo would be "f---ing amazing."
Ricky Gervais has finally agreed to return as host to the Golden Globes, as long as he has Charlie Sheen by his side.
"I will host The Golden Globes again," he wrote on his blog Tuesday. "AAND the Emmys, AND the Oscars if I can do it with Charlie Sheen. I mean it."
The format would be nontraditional. While there would be gags and intros to presenters as normal, the bulk of the show would focus on the outspoken actor who continued his media blitz on Tuesday.
"After each acceptance speech I'd just chat to Charlie, who would just be sitting in an arm chair smoking," wrote Gervais. "He'd just say what's on his incredible mind."
"It would be f---ing amazing."
Gervais urged members of the public to help him should they see Sheen conducting one of his many interviews.
"Tell him he's got a new job," he wrote.
Gervais ripped Charlie Sheen during his infamous Golden Globes appearance from the first moment onstage.
"It's going to be a night of partying and heavy drinking -- or, as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast," the comedian quipped at the start of the show. "Wow, so let's get this straight, so what he did was, he picked up a porn star, paid her to have dinner with him, introduced her to his ex-wife -- as you do -- went to a hotel, got drunk, got naked, trashed the place while she was locked in a cupboard, and that was a Monday. What does he do New Year's Eve?"
I want this!
Law & Order: SVU is briefly bringing back a popular character. TVLine reports that Diane Neal will reprise her role of former ADA Casey Novak in NBC’s crime drama for one episode this spring.
Neal hasn’t appeared on SVU since May of 2008 when Novak was disbarred for violating due process while prosecuting a police officer who raped two 14-year-old illegal immigrants. Neal played Novak for five seasons, making her the longest-tenured ADA in SVU history.
Neal’s most recent role is a recurring gig on NCIS as Special Agent Abigal Borin and she also guest starred in the “Front Man” episode of White Collar last year.
Law & Order: SVU airs on NBC Wednesdays at 10pm eastern/9pm central.
Rihanna has been offered $50,000 (£31,000) to make a public appearance, it has been reported.
The singer, who is due to perform at Sydney's Acer Arena this Saturday night, has allegedly demanded a large fee to attend a post-show meet and greet at Helm Bar in Cockle Bay immediately after her concert.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Rihanna's tour promoter and music label have both denied rumors that she will make an appearance at this weekend's Mardi Gras parade or the official after-party at Hordern Pavilion.
The musician apparently arrived in Sydney yesterday and checked into a hotel near the famous Harbour Bridge.
Some of Christina Aguilera's friends and business associates have been pleading with her for several months to get treatment for alcohol abuse ... TMZ has learned.
As one source put it, "Maybe when she was married she was able to keep it under wraps, but it's out in the open now."
And we've learned ... Christina's drinking became an issue in her divorce. Jordan Bratman voiced concern about Christina's drinking when they hashed out their child custody agreement but they ultimately agreed on joint custody.
We're told Jordan has been mum since yesterday's arrest. It's unclear if he'll try and reopen the custody case.
We're told Christina has shut down all attempts to get her into rehab ... at least until yesterday.
No word if she's had a change of heart.

Piers Morgan was a guest on Conan last night and discussed his experience with Charlie Sheen before having quite a few negative things to say about Madonna. Terry Richardson: The man, the myth, the oversized glasses fit for a sex offender registry mugshot. If you haven't heard about Richardson, here are some talking points.
Photographer! Porny shots that often involve knee socks. Possible rapist. Definite sketchbomb. Responsible for the defiling of squeaky-clean Glee actors in GQ and often whips out his d*ck for photoshoots. (I will abstain from providing links to examples of this).
But we can forgive it all, because he just threw on his blog... a picture of himself and Monica Lewinsky! First thought was, She looks great in that jacket. Second thought? Is that where she's been since 1999? Did Terry Richardson lock her in a cage?
Dear Monica, please, please don't get mixed up with Terry Richardson. He's a powerful man and it will be very tempting, but you know as well as I that it'll only end with tears and dry cleaning bills.

His latest project is the upcoming film The Adjustment Bureau, in which he stars alongside alongside Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. Slattery plays a member of a mysterious organization that secretly controls people's fates.
Unlike his character in the sci-fi romance, the real Slattery is less imposing. In the lead-up to his new film, the silver-haired Massachusetts native talked with AskMen about boxer shorts, booze and why he's always cast as a suit.

Adele’s 21 has become the fastest-selling album in the US so far this year after debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 chart with 352,000 sales.
Its opening total is almost double that of the previous best sales start of the year to date, 165,000 copies, achieved only a week earlier by Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never: The Remixes, and the best by a British artist since Sade’s Soldier Of Love debuted at number one last February with 502,000 sales.
The album, released by Columbia/XL in the States, is also joined in the Billboard 200’s Top 50 by its 2008 predecessor 19, which moves from 50-16, while 21’s lead-off single Rolling In The Deep is expected to reach another peak when the new Hot 100 chart is revealed later this week, having last week sprinted 41-26.

Jake Epping is a thirty-five-year-old high school English teacher in Lisbon Falls, Maine, who makes extra money teaching adults in the GED program. He receives an essay from one of the students—a gruesome, harrowing first person story about the night 50 years ago when Harry Dunning’s father came home and killed his mother, his sister, and his brother with a hammer. Harry escaped with a smashed leg, as evidenced by his crooked walk.
Not much later, Jake’s friend Al, who runs the local diner, divulges a secret: his storeroom is a portal to 1958. He enlists Jake on an insane—and insanely possible—mission to try to prevent the Kennedy assassination. So begins Jake’s new life as George Amberson and his new world of Elvis and JFK, of big American cars and sock hops, of a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald and a beautiful high school librarian named Sadie Dunhill, who becomes the love of Jake’s life—a life that transgresses all the normal rules of time.

Battery life is, consequently, unaltered, with Apple promising 10 hours. Pricing, too, has been left unchanged, starting at $499. The campaign is set to debut in May, and roll out with a series of celebratory events, pop-up stores and contests, which will also coincide with the launch of Rihanna’s LOUD world tour for which NIVEA is a sponsor. “Over the past 100 years, NIVEA has been an iconic skincare brand across the world that is built on the trust of our consumers,” says NIVEA board member, Markus Pinger. “We are excited to have Rihanna supporting us in our celebration and building a new generation of fans.”
ROAD Communications (PR & marketing for NIVEA and other Beiersdorf brands) says that music has worked well for NIVEA’s recent Feel Closer campaign and that “emotions will continue to be the touchpoint for communicating the brand.” They insist that “tapping into those emotions will still require content which stands out from the crowd” and with Rihanna’s consistent change and the beginning of a new tour, NIVEA will definitely accomplish those goals in the The 100 Years Skincare for Life campaign.

Karl Lagerfeld speaks out against John Galliano
As numerous fashion bigwigs leap to John Galliano's defense, Karl Lagerfeld — the rare sort of designer in the same league as Galliano in terms of talent and fashion influence — takes a very different stance. He tells WWD:
Instead of complaining about Galliano for 6 pages, I think we should discuss who we think is going to take over. I keep reading that everyone thinks that Ricardo Tisci will be moved from Givenchy to Dior like Galliano was in the 90s but I don't want to see that happen. I love Givenchy under Tisci.
Move over Charlie Sheen – Alex Pettyfer is reportedly on his way to becoming Hollywood’s newest bad boy.
According to Us Weekly, Alex, 20, was banned from an Oscars pre-party because his ex-girlfriend, Dianna Agron, would be at the event and the actor’s reps were worried that his previously bad behavior would flare up again.
“His agents told him not to go to the February 26 Night Before party,” a source told Us, adding that Pettyfer’s agents may fire him because his bad boy behavior has “become a liability.”
Alex was allegedly spotted flying into a violent rage at a West Hollywood club on February 18 over his Glee ex. Insiders have previously said that Dianna was afraid of Alex after they broke up in February.
People magazine recently reported that the I Am Number Four star is gaining a reputation around Hollywood for his “bad temper.” Insiders told the magazine that Alex is “talented, but he’s immature and opinionated” and some producers have branded him as “ambitious and cocky.”
Insiders also tell People that Alex prefers to be alone and is “not good around big groups of people.”

After Sheen declared himself a "Vatican assassin warlock" during a radio interview last week ... an actual, practicing warlock from Salem's Coven of the Raven Moon in Salem, Massachusetts told us he's "fuming" over the statement because it's a "blatant offense against our ways."
The warlock -- named Christian Day (pictured above) -- tells us he plans to take action against the actor ... not legal action -- but magical action.
Day explains, "I am going to magically bind Mr. Sheen, not to harm him, but to simply prevent him from using this word in such a negative manner in the future."
Day continues, "If Mr. Sheen is open to it, our coven would be willing to perform a cleansing on both him, his home, and his career."
So far, no word if Charlie will accept the offer.
Sure, Esperanza Spalding made Grammy history when she was the first jazz artist to ever win the Best New Artist award, but that's not what made headlines on music's biggest night. What did? The fact that she beat Justin Bieber.
After Spalding's name was called, JB fans set their phasers to attack. They hacked into her wikipedia page and their tweets about her were, to put it mildly, less than kind. Here is one example: "@espespalding DID YOU SELL OUT 86 SHOWS IN 2 DAYS? WERE ANY OF YOUR ALBUMS ON THE TOP OF BILLBOARD 200? NO. SIT THE F**K DOWN."
Spalding appeared on "The View" on Wednesday, Mar. 2, where the ladies asked if she had seen or heard the backlash from Bieber's fans. "I didn't. We went to Japan and I heard about it from friends, I didn't see it or hear it," she says. "There was so much other stuff going on at the Grammys. Justin Bieber and I weren't the only ones there."
So what was going through her mind when she was waiting for her name to be called? "I actually wasn't waiting for my name. I didn't think it would be mine. I was thoroughly shocked," Spalding says.
So were the JB fans, Esperanza. So were the JB fans.
After Toy Story 3 cracked the billion dollar worldwide gross mark and got a Best Picture nomination for Disney, I'm told the studio is making moves to pair stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen in Jungle Cruise, the live action film inspired by the venerable Magic Kingdom theme park ride. The studio has hired Roger S.H. Schulman to write a script that's being produced by Mandeville's David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, who themselves are coming off a Best Picture nomination for The Fighter. No director yet, I'm told.
Schulman has written on such films as Shrek and Jungle Book 2. Disney has been trying to get Jungle Cruise out of dry dock for several years, but the combination of Hanks and Allen in a family film makes this the equivalent of an E-ticket for a family-themed film. Hanks just direct Larry Crowne, starring with Julia Roberts and producing with Playtone partner Gary Goetzman. Hanks also is attached to another family film project based on the Mattel toy Major Matt Mason, which Playtone is also producing at Universal. CAA reps Hanks.
Wendy Williams dishes on Christina Aguilera's arrest Tuesday morning for public intoxication on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated). In particular, Williams doubts Aguilera's weight listed on the accompanying police report.
Williams first takes a gander at Aguilera's unkempt mug shot. But, she seems more interested in the singer's weight, which is described as 100 pounds.
"This is the most astonishing thing to me. The police report says she's 5'2", okay, and weighs 100 pounds. What?! What year was that?!" Williams asked incredulously, then showing a recent photo of Aguilera. "That ain't no 100 pounds, honey!"
Reusing cover photos is a weird magazine practice that we don’t quite understand, but when it does happen, international editions of mags are generally involved. Interestingly, Vanity Fair was accused of lightening Beyoncé’s skin on the original cover six years ago.
Both VF and Beyoncé denied any such retouching. Conversely, Russian Glamour darkened the singer’s skin on their June 2009 cover, which used the same picture that appeared on the December 2007 cover of Joy.
BEYONCE Knowles believes it’s possible to have it all.
The singer-and-actress — who is married to hip-hop superstar Jay-Z — is keen to start a family and insists she can be a good wife and mother as well as maintain her successful career.
“I have so much admiration for women who are mothers, who balance family and work,” Beyonce said. “I see them and I have this word in my head — respect. I also look to learn. I see these women and I think, ‘Yes, it can be balanced, it can all work out.’
“I do believe that it’s possible to have it all — work, a career, babies… It’s all a question of being very organized. That’s what I’m getting my head around.”
Although she wants to have it all, Beyonce also likes the idea of being a stay-at-home wife to spend quality time with her husband after previously taking a brief career break and enjoying the experience.
“I took a year off and I even did some cooking, although I didn’t really enjoy that,” she said. “I’m not the greatest cook — I can do things with oxtail, though. It was great just having the time to be a wife rather than this non-stop traveling career girl.”
Jane Lynch has said that Lea Michelle is a "sweetheart" and steals the show in the new Glee original music.
Lynch chatted with E! online after the Spirit Awards in Los Angeles last week, where she talked about any supposed diva behavior by her castmates.
"She's a sweetheart," Lynch said, in regard to the diva rumors that have been swirling around about Lea Michelle. "She's just the best."
In addition, Lynch continued to sing the praises of Lea Michelle by saying that she "blew her away" singing the lead on the original songs.
"Lea sings them like nobody's business... The whole group does a great job, but Lea, of course, is singing lead and she's amazing," said Lynch.
It's great to see Lynch, who plays a mean and crazy coach on Glee, praise her co-stars. Is it fair though for her to put so much praise on Lea Michelle when the other Glee cast members are just as good? Seems like Lea Michelle is stealing the show - and the heart - of her co-star.
E! Online is responding to claims made by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department that the news outlet obtained Christina Aguilera's mug shot by unconventional methods.
E! publicist John Rizzotti explains in a statement to RumorFix:
"The footage, which included a picture of Christina Aguilera, was shot at a public press conference this morning where the media was invited to cover her arrest. It was shot in full accordance with the law and proper reporting procedures."
This is a far cry from Sheriff's Department spokesmen Steve Whitmore who tells RumorFix the mug shot "was surreptitiously stolen."
According to Whitmore, "[E!] ran over and took a shot even though they said they weren't going to run it and they did. [The mug shot is] not being released. E! did something that was inexcusable. They said they weren't going to do something and they did it."
While the Sheriff's Department and the staff of E! may not be having drinks anytime soon, the real loser here is Christina Aguilera whose mug shot is plastered all over the Internet for getting a ride home while intoxicated.
Stay classy E!

Chad Michael Murray of "One Tree Hill" fame is on the cover of the April issue of Troix magazine, but he's sans his most defining feature.
Don't worry, he still has his unfortunate facial hair. He's dropped his middle name and will henceforth be known as simply Chad Murray. So basically, if you haven't forgotten all about him since he left "One Tree Hill" two years ago, you probably will now.
Unless, of course, he gets his dream, which is to work with Darren Aronofsky, Martin Scorsese or Terry Gillam. "I love 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,'" he says. "It's what film should be about. It's true imagination where you go anywhere. It was just so beautiful. Definitely one of my top 10 films."
Murray mugs for the camera and talks about his six years on "One Tree Hill" -- though there's no word yet as to whether he's returning for the series finale. (We doubt it, since his on-screen wife, Hilarie Burton, has confirmed that she's not coming back.)
"I'm grateful to have had it. I'm fortunate to have had it. I learned so, so very much from so many people. I was able to kind of grow up and become the man I'm becoming today. I just feel very fortunate to have been in that position, to be in Wilmington, North Carolina, to be in place that's kind of smaller than Los Angeles. It's just different. I enjoyed my experience there."
Murray also spent a season in Wilmington before "One Tree Hill" began, when he played Charlie on "Dawson's Creek." He still closely follows the work of his former "Creek" co-star, Joshua Jackson. "the one show I haven't missed an episode of in its three seasons is 'Fringe.' Love 'Fringe.' I love the cast. It's fantastic."
After the post the other day which turned out to be a lie, and break the hearts of millions of former children, I started to look up Hey Arnold. The show ended after the Hey Arnold movie. I still find it strange that they ended it without ever continuing the story of Arnold's parents...if we remember there was an entire episode based on them and their whereabouts were unknown, lost in South America somewhere.
Turns out, Nickelodeon was going to produce a 2nd movie. The script was finished, everything was set but Nick stopped and canceled the show and movie. The final movie was to be "The Jungle Movie," which was to be the follow up from hour long episode about Arnold's parents.

Cassidy will play Nikki, a smart and quick-witted junior staffer in the White House Communications Office with connections to the First Lady. Nikki, who is also a model, is friends and roommates with Andrew and Samantha (ICM-repped Betts), an idealistic young staffer with the Democratic President, daughter of a political dynasty who shares a romantic history with Andrew. Freddie Smith has only appeared in one episode of "90210" so far, but fans are already buzzing about his upcoming storyline as Marco, a love interest for Teddy (Trevor Donovan), the former womanizer who came out of the closet this season. Smith sat down with ClevverTV for his first on-camera interview, in which he discusses some light spoilers for the show, his character's background, and his participation in the "NOH8" campaign, among other things.
He's really cute, but the interview is kind of long and the girls are kind of annoying, so here's an edited version under the cut where he just talks about the show.

The five-time Grammy winner singed on as a coach/judge on Mark Burnett’s singing competition series The Voice.
That makes three spots on the show filled by celebrity singers so far, with Xtina joining Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine. Aguilera was first reported as in talks for the show exclusively by EW last week.
“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Aguilera said in a statement. “To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms.I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice.”

Radcliffe, who stars in both the show and the film, had committed to appear in the revival of "How To Succeed" at the Hirschfeld Theatre, which started previews on Feb. 26 and runs until at least Nov. 6. But Warner Bros. chiefs were furious that his Broadway deal meant he might not be available to promote "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," to be launched with a lavish premiere at London's Trafalgar Square on July 7.
In tense negotiations, "How To Succeed" producers refused to release Radcliffe for the days when Warner needed him -- forcing the studio to buy out the whole theater for the nights he'd have to miss.

Well the sexy tomboy look is in. Are you feeling Nicki Minaj's swag?
I listened to Nicki Minaj’s album and liked it. She’s not keeping herself in a bubble. I like the diversity and that it’s working for her. Because at one point they weren’t letting female rappers do too much. It was either your selling sex or your being hard. But she gets to do both. That’s a good thing.
Safe to say you'd do a collab then?
Hell yeah I would.

Watch out, Michael Moore -- Justin Bieber is coming for you.
According to domestic box office numbers (via Box Office Mojo), 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never' has grossed a whopping $63,300,218 to date, making it the third-highest-grossing documentary of all time. (Yep, that's more than 'Sicko' and 'Bowling for Columbine' combined.)
The only two documentaries standing in Bieber's way from taking the box-office crown: 'March of the Penguins,' which grossed over $77 million in its run, and Michael Moore's controversial doc 'Fahrenheit 9/11,' which grossed an astounding $119 million in 2004.
'Never Say Never' was re-released last weekend with additional footage, and the doc grossed an additional $9.2 million. Whether it can actually get to $119 million, however, remains to be seen.
Tell us, readers: Are you a Belieber? Will 'Never say Never' become the highest-grossing doc of all time? Or will it have to settle for third?
ONTD, what are some of your favorite documentaries?

Joseph Kahn is bringing this stylish commercial directing to this month's SXSW Film Festival as they'll be holding the world premiere of Detention, his slasher film that look like Scream meets Prom Night meets a SyFy original, with the Burger King's Queen as the killer.
The trailer premiered this morning and is sure to blow your mind. Good, bad, I'm not sure. All I know is that I must see it. And kudos to Kahn for throwing a Torque joke in the opening seconds -- that's a man who can take criticism!
"'Detention' tells the story of the senior class at Grizzly Lake high school. The road to graduation is never an easy one, but it's further complicated for these students by the arrival of a slasher movie killer who has seemingly come to life. The only ones who can stop the killer are a handful of students, but they'll have to cut out of detention if they're to stand a chance at saving the world."

Nicki Minaj's fans are still going crazy for her debut album Pink Friday.
The rapper revealed on Twitter earlier today that the CD has broken the record for "most consecutive weeks in the top 10 by a female rap album on Billboard's 200."
Nicki, who will be hitting the road with Lil Wayne and Rick Ross soon for the I Am Music II Tour, told her followers: "Thank you for your continued support."
Pink Friday went Gold late last year and the Moment 4 Life star admitted she was shocked by how well the album is selling.
Nicki recently revealed she is now done with collaborations, after doing too many features last year.
Britney Spears' songwriter just launched a legal counter-attack over her number 1 hit "Hold It Against Me" -- suing The Bellamy Brothers for publicly claiming the song is a rip-off.
In a federal lawsuit filed today, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald says The Bellamy Brothers launched a "smear campaign" by claiming Brit's hit -- co-penned by Gottwald -- was just a knockoff of their 1979 song ... "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?"
Gottwald also claims the Brothers' attack was "a publicity stunt aimed to increase their record sales ... and to combat their dwindling relevance." Ouch.
In addition to damages for defamation ... Gottwald wants a court order stating once and for all Britney's song has nothing to do with the BB's song.
The Bellamy Bros. rep didn't immediately return a call for comment.
Hours after Charlie Sheen's kids were taken by police Tuesday night, the actor has passed another drug test.
RadarOnline.com reports that the star took his fourth drug test in four days, and the site has video proving he passed. The test turned up negative results for the presence of marijuana, cocaine, opiates and methamphetamine.
Sheen allegedly recently threatened estranged wife Brooke Mueller, saying, "I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom." The threat prompted Mueller's lawyer to get a temporary restraining order against Sheen, preventing him from seeing Mueller or their twin boys, Bob and Max, almost 2 years old.
After presenting possible evidence Mueller may have been using drugs very recently -- and alleging she still is -- Sheen told Radar: "I'll match her test for test -- I have nothing to hide. Brooke's gonna be doing a whole lot of these."
Why did Sheen happen to have a drug test handy? He told Radar it was "just in case someone rolls in."

Although buzz about which celebrities could join Simon Cowell's new show The X Factor is already going strong, a new name has been added to the mix: Jessica Simpson is a frontrunner to become one of the judges alongside Cowell, a show insider tells PEOPLE.
"There [are] loads of conversations happening at the moment," says the source. "No one has been offered a judging role yet as new names keep coming forward who want the role, but there are some frontrunners and it's fair to say Jessica is one of them. She's very keen."
Simpson, 30, has the skills needed for this particular format, which features a $5 million recording contract as the grand prize, says the insider. Still, there are a lot of factors that go in to making the final choice.
"She knows what she is talking about [and] is talented and likable," the source says. "But Simon's not in a rush to decide. The judges have to mentor on The X Factor – it's more than just turning up for a few hours a week to appear on TV."
The judges will have to "work with contestants on music, dancers, styling," the source continues. "It's a lot of work."
The X Factor, which is already a hit in Cowell's native U.K., will debut in the U.S. on FOX in the fall, so producers have time to make a careful choice.
"They have to get the decision right, which takes time," the source says. "Those final decisions may not happen for a few weeks."

Barr -- who lives on a macadamia nut farm in Hawaii -- filed a request for a restraining order against her neighbor Roree Oehlman and her husband Richard ... claiming the couple has had it out for Rosie since she moved in.
According to the docs, Roseanne claims the problems began from the moment she moved in -- when her neighbors declared they don't want any "Kaballah studying [that means Jewish) people here on the Big Island."
Roseanne says Roree claims to have guns -- and often harasses and even threatens the comic.
In fact, Roseanne claims one morning she found two of her four goats had been killed -- and shortly after Rosie discovered the bodies, her neighbor allegedly told Roseanne's son-in-law, "That's what happens when you piss people off."
Rosie wants a judge to ban the couple from getting anywhere near her property -- or contacting any member of her family.
In related news, the county recently cited Roseanne for doing "illegal work" on her nut farm ... after Roree filed a complaint in the "interest of public safety."

The pop star performed, along with Usher, at the $1 million personal concert for Mutassim Gaddafi, according to diplomatic cables which describe the Gaddafi family's extravagant spending.
The revelation sparked calls for Beyonce and other entertainers who've been paid by the Gaddafi clan to return the money or donate it to charity.
Asked to comment, Beyonce's spokesperson, Yvette Noel-Schure emailed The Huffington Post:
All monies paid to Beyoncé for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti, over a year ago. Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause.
On Tuesday, Canadian pop singer Nelly Furtado tweeted that she plans to donate the $1 million she received to perform a 45-minute show for the Gaddafi family and guests in 2007.
"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Qaddafi clan to perform a 45 min. Show for guests at a hotel in Italy," read a tweet on Furtado's official account Monday. "I am going to donate the $."
At a New Year's Eve party in 2008, Mutassim Gaddafi paid Mariah Carey $1 million to sing four songs, according to the cables. And in 2006, the family brought Lionel Richie to Libya to perform at a concert marking the 20th anniversary of a U.S. raid on the country. Spokespeople for Usher and Carey have not returned calls for comment.
On last night's Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, the host explained that he wasn't going to be doing any more Charlie Sheen jokes. He's done them, he acknowledged, but he's not doing them anymore. And he explained why.
As Ferguson put it, he's begun to feel like staring at Charlie Sheen is the equivalent of visiting one of those 19th-century mental hospitals at which, as the BBC notes, visitors who paid a penny to see the patients "were permitted to bring sticks to poke and enrage" them.
There could hardly be a starker contrast than the one between Ferguson's treatment of Sheen and the treatment Sheen got from Piers Morgan last night on CNN, where Morgan poked him and enraged him, coddled him and encouraged him. It's exactly like paying your penny at Bedlam, only Morgan gets the penny.
The people who watch his show are, in effect, paying Piers Morgan to provoke Charlie Sheen for them. To push his buttons, ask him about the women he prefers, coyly compliment him on his benders, all because it's so easy to get him to brag about all of that. Sheen wants to say "epic" and "winning" and "the scoreboard doesn't lie." He's got a pocket full of speed-related metaphors — he returns over and over to rocket fuel, jets, bombs, the let's go of it all — and he wants to share all of them.

I thought this was an interesting perspective on the situation and how it is unfolding in the media.
Nicole Scherzinger has announced details of her debut album.
The singer, who officially quit the Pussycat Dolls in December last year, will release Killer Love on March 20.
The star recorded the LP - whose artwork appears on the right - in New York and LA in between her filming commitments for Men In Black 3.
"This album is fun and dangerous, soulful and with attitude!" Scherzinger said in a press release. "Music that you can rock out to, dance around, sing and feel good to. It means everything. It's what I've been working up to for my whole life."
The record's first single 'Poison' peaked at number three in the UK, while its follow-up 'Don't Hold Your Breath' is out a week prior to the album's release.
The release marks Scherzinger's second attempt at solo stardom, after 2007's Her Name Is Nicole was eventually cancelled.

Vanessa Hudgens has revealed that she can understand why girls are attracted to bad boys.
The actress is currently starring in the movie Beastly, in which her unpopular character Lindy becomes attracted to over-confident character Kyle, played by Alex Pettyfer.
She explained to MTV: "I feel like a lot of girls think it's easier to go under the radar, to not really stand up and let their true selves be known.
"And I feel like when that happens, a lot of girls look up to guys who embody that, who are just truly out there and, of course, my character falls for that, as a lot of other girls would."
The 22-year-old said that while her character is initially drawn to Kyle because he is different to her, she is pleased that she eventually falls in love with him for the right reasons.
She added: "Slowly, she falls in love with him, not for his appearance, which I think is the most beautiful part of it."

Aretha Franklin goes into detail about her weight loss and the method to how she rid herself of those tig ol bitties.
First things first: Lose any food that’s smothered in hot sauce. “That’s off the menu now … and no pig feet, either,” Aretha Franklin said good-naturedly on The Wendy Williams Show Wednesday. Instead, the Queen of Soul and the talk show host sipped afternoon tea in Detroit during their chat, in which Franklin, 68, revealed that she’s lost about 85 lbs.
“I’ve been looking at a lot of pictures, and I was saying [to myself], ‘You were entirely too fat for words,’ ” the 18-time Grammy winner said with a laugh.
“I was doing everything you could to lose that weight, and it’s hard,” she said. “It’s just really hard. [But] you can’t continue eating things that will hurt you eventually.” As for her much buzzed-about health following surgery for a mystery ailment back in December, Franklin did not specify the nature of the problem, but talked instead about how she’s feeling now.
“A lot of things were said,” Franklin noted of the widespread rumors about her health (most pervasive: that she was battling pancreatic cancer). “I left that behind,” she added. “And I couldn’t be feeling any better than I’m feeling right now.”

She plays a forensic scientist on the hit Fox show “Bones,” but Emily Deschanel helps stop crimes in real life, too: the actress and animal lover is currently fighting for the lives of 14 chimps being used for testing by the National Institue of Health.
Deschanel sent the NIH a letter after learning that they plan to send 14 aging chimpanzees from the Alamogordo Primate Facility (a rehab and retirement facility for chimps used in testing) to the Southwest National Primate Research Center. The research center, based in Texas, has a “long history of animal abuse” according to Deschanel’s letter.
“Each individual chimpanzee has his or her own story,” wrote Deschanel. “As you know, their stories are all filled with pain and suffering. But you have an opportunity to give these 14 chimpanzees’ stories a happy ending.”
The chimps won a recent victory when the NIH suspended plans to move a huge group of 186 chimps from the rehab facility to the research center. However, the fate of the 14 chimps is still in question.
Deschanel’s strong support is no surprise: she has been heavily involved in animal rights cases in the past, is an outspoken vegan (along with her sister, “500 Days of Summer” star Zooey Deschanel), and even won the “Humane Advocate Award” from the Humane Society.

Disgraced fashion designer, John Galliano, has broken his silence and released a statement about events that led to his dismissal from his role as creative director of Christian Dior.
Galliano, 50, begins by explaining that he has not previously made any public comment on the advice of his French lawyer, but that "continuing delays at the French Prosecutor's Office" have prompted him to speak out to make his position clear.
He then goes on to completely deny the claims made against him and state that he is fully co-operating with with the Police investigation.
The statement seems only to refer to the incident under Police investigation which occured last Thursday night at Paris café La Perle, during which Galliano is alleged to have hurled racist and anti-Semitic abuse at Géraldine Bloch, 35, and her companion Philippe Virgiti, 41. it makes no reference to subsequent leaked mobile phone footage, dating from December, featuring Galliano saying "I love Hitler" and telling a group of Italian girls drinking outside the same café "People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers, would all be f****** gassed."
Galliano goes on to state: "A number of independent witnesses have given evidence and have told the Police that I was subjected to verbal harassment and an unprovoked assault when an individual tried to hit me with a chair having taken violent exception to my look and my clothing. For these reasons I have commenced proceedings for defamation and the threats made against me."
He then acknowledges that the accusations made against him "have greatly shocked and upset people", before adding: "I must take responsibility for the circumstances in which I found myself and for allowing myself to be seen to be behaving in the worst possible light. I only have myself to blame and I know that I must face up to my own failures and that I must work hard to gain people's understanding and compassion."

Peter Pan Returns! And he's totally jacked, you guys.
We've remarked before on the pilfered fairytales Hollywood's been shamelessly rebooting (Alice In Wonderland! Red Riding Hood! Not one, but two versions of Snow White!) but this one kinda takes the cake. Alice producer Joe Roth and actor Channing Tatum are, as we speak, out pitching Peter Pan Returns.
No, really. The fact that Alice was a steaming, nonsensical pile of sh*t hasn't perturbed anyone. We can only imagine where he's returning; from Neverland to the real world, perhaps, as the now-grown Tatum? With Justin Bieber as the younger Pan in flashbacks? And everyone dances?

For the past 20 years, Charlie Sheen has allegedly assaulted, threatened, harassed, abused, and — in one incident — shot women. Although his long history of violence toward women has been reported in the media, it seems to have taken a back seat to the actor's partying, wild lifestyle, and battle with addiction that has been part of the narrative of his bad boy persona that has actually propelled his success rather than hindered it. In fact, a few short months after a rehab stint — on the heels of his Christmas day arrest on domestic violence charges against ex-wife Brooke Mueller — Sheen signed an agreement in May 2010 to return to Two and a Half Men for another two years for a reported $1.8 million per episode. His egregious behavior in his personal life had somehow not affected his standing with the CBS brass — until he called his boss Chuck Lorre a "clown." Apparently, that was just too much.
Following his remarks about Lorre, CBS has shut down production of the hit sitcom, the ratings of which have recently spiked 30 percent. Certainly Sheen has the right to behave however he wants in his off-hours, especially considering that he reportedly does not have a morality clause in his Men contract. But if the show's producers are going to take offense to personal verbal attacks the actor makes about them, why aren't those same producers — as well as the network — offended by his repeated physical attacks against women? Particularly those that have occurred during the eight years he's been on the show?

Her agents confirmed Wednesday that Williams was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism last week and later needed treatment for a hematoma. The 13-time Grand Slam champion hasn't played an official match since winning Wimbledon last July because of a foot injury she sustained not on the court but at a restaurant.
Her latest health problems have been "extremely hard, scary and disappointing," Williams said in a statement. "I am doing better. I'm at home now and working with my doctors to keep everything under control. I know I will be OK but am praying and hoping this will all be behind me soon."
"While I can't make any promises now on my return, I hope to be back by early summer. That said, my main goal is to make sure I get there safely," she said.
People magazine first reported on Williams' condition, quoting spokeswoman Nicole Chabot as saying Williams underwent "emergency treatment" Monday for a hematoma suffered as a result of treatment for "a more critical situation," the pulmonary embolism.
