John Travolta has rushed home from a promotional trip in Australia after receiving word that pregnant wife Kelly Preston has gone into labor.
The 56-year-old Grease star was due in Perth for a charity event but abruptly cancelled to pilot his own flight back to the United States.
Travolta made good on his promise that if his Preston "goes into labor, I'll have to take the plane straight back on a 22-hour flight''.
"If I get a call, I may have to say adios," he told reporters earlier this week.
Preston, 47, wasn't expected to give birth to the couple's third child for another three weeks.
The couple has already named their much anticipated baby boy Benjamin.
While the Net is buzzing about Michael Jackson’s posthumous Michael album hitting stores next month, one of the King of Pop’s biggest fans, producer and Black Eyed Peas front man Will.i.am, hasn’t even heard the much-talked-about new song “Breaking News.” He’s not really interested in it, either. “Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are,” he says, “to say that what [Michael] contributed during his life wasn’t enough. He just wasn’t any ordinary artist. He was a hands-on person. To me it’s disrespectful. There’s no honoring.”
The producer collaborated with Jackson in 2006 on what would have been Jackson’s comeback album, following 2001′s Invincible. He can’t understand how Sony, Epic’s parent company, could release fragmentary works from a man who was so meticulous. “Michael Jackson songs are finished when Michael says they’re finished,” Will says. “Maybe if I never worked with him I wouldn’t have this perspective. He was very particular about how he wanted his vocals, the reverb he used…he was that hands-on.”
Earlier this year, Will talked to Access Hollywood about some of the songs he recorded with Michael, mentioning “Dreaming,” “Still the King,” and a James Brown tribute called “I Will Miss You.” But he still maintains that none of them will ever be released, because Jackson didn’t give them a final okay. “He kept his vocals and I kept the music,” he says. “We had that understanding.”
What do you think of Will’s thoughts? Is Sony right to release Michael’s music without his blessing?

. . . I still really wanna hear the MJ/will.i.am songs. XD No offense to those that enjoyed the song, but will.i.am's stuff is probably a lot better than Breaking News, lol.

You guys may know how I feel about Sassy. You also may know that I've been babbling about how I think our generation should get one, too. Jane Pratt, founding editor and then EIC of Sassy, also became aware, and emailed me, and we've met a couple times, and it looks like we're going to start a magazine for an audience of wallflowerly teenage girls.

Courteney Cox Arquette's daughter Coco is having a "hard time" dealing with her split from David Arquette.
The 'Scream' actress - who announced a trial separation from her husband after 14 years of marriage last month - is putting the needs of their six-year-old daughter first and trying to keep the rest of her life as normal as possible.
She said: "Coco is the most important person in all of this. She's having a little bit of a hard time, but she's dealing with it very well.
"Luckily her day-to-day schedule isn't changing because we've always had two houses and we've always been back-and-forth. And we're making a point of spending a lot of time together, having family dinners and such."
Discussing her future plans, Courteney thinks the future will be "quieter" without her husband around.
She explained: "I think it's going to get quieter. David and I were always very sociable - for the last 10 or 11 years we've had people over to our house every single Sunday. It's a tradition I picked up from my grandmother."
For decades she has epitomised Englishness in films and television, having portrayed both Elizabeth I and the present Queen in award-winning performances.
But now Helen Mirren, who was made a Dame in 2003, has launched a stinging attack on the country of her birth and suggested she would have felt more at home in France.
In an outspoken interview published in the latest edition of the French celebrity magazine Paris Match, Dame Helen describes modern Britain as an ‘angry’ and ‘cruel’ society that no longer cherishes old-fashioned virtues.
Asked whether British values such as decency were being lost, the London-born actress said: ‘I’m under the impression that this notion is disappearing from our society where conflicts are made worse on cinema and on television, where people are nasty and cruel on the internet and where, in general terms, everybody seems to me to be very angry.’
She added: ‘This causes me a lot of pain.’ Dame Helen, 65, is particularly critical of British comedy, saying: ‘I prefer the finesse of French humour. English humour is harsher, more scathing, more cruel and more surreal too, as illustrated by Monty Python and the TV series Little Britain, where situations are far-fetched and over the top.’

Reality television is getting its own version of Graceland ... in the form of a Planet Hollywood-style restaurant right on the Las Vegas strip.
TMZ has learned that Simon Huck and Jonathan Cheban -- the stars of E!'s hit show "The Spin Crowd" -- are about to break ground on a new restaurant called Reality Café.
Among the planned reality-themed delicacies ... a recipe for meatballs from Caroline Manzo from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey."
Kim Kardashian's Sweet Buns would make for a good dessert.
Ironik received a knife wound to the buttock during the attack and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Recuperating, he thanked fans for their support via his Twitter feed, adding: “It could have been much worse.”
The rapper, real name James Charters, was returning from a gig in Essex at the time of the incident.
Arriving home at around 3.30am, he was approached by the pair, wearing dark clothes including hooded tops.
After stabbing Ironik, the assailants fled with jewellery belonging to the rapper. The personal items were later recovered by police. No arrests have been made in the case, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
Best known for his No 3 hit Tiny Dancer featuring Sir Elton John, Ironik is a Prince’s Trust ambassador and a vocal anti-knife campaigner.
Following his treatment, he reassured fans in a series of tweets. He said: “It’s been a crazy last couple of days and this whole experience is quite surreal. But they say what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.”
This was followed by the message:
“I wanna thank each and every one of my friends, family and supportive fans that have showed me lots of much love. It could have been much worse so thank God it weren’t and I’m just resting and recovering.”
Back in February we wrote about Facebook’s secret Project Titan — a web-based email client that we hear is unofficially referred to internally as its “Gmail killer”. Now we’ve heard from sources that this is indeed what’s coming on Monday during Facebook’s special event, alongside personal @facebook.com email addresses for users.
This isn’t a big surprise — the event invites Facebook sent out hinted strongly that the news would have something to do with its Inbox, sparking plenty of speculation that the event could be related to Titan. Our understanding is that this is more than just a UI refresh for Facebook’s existing messaging service with POP access tacked on. Rather, Facebook is building a full-fledged webmail client, and while it may only be in early stages come its launch Monday, there’s a huge amount of potential here.
Facebook has the world’s most popular photos product, the most popular events product, and soon will have a very popular local deals product as well. It can tweak the design of its webmail client to display content from each of these in a seamless fashion (and don’t forget messages from games, or payments via Facebook Credits). And there’s also the social element: Facebook knows who your friends are and how closely you’re connected to them; it can probably do a pretty good job figuring out which personal emails you want to read most and prioritize them accordingly.
Oh, and assuming our sources prove accurate, this explains the timing of the Google/Facebook slap fight over contact information. Would you make the switch? Would you give Facebook email a chance?
Jessica Simpson is off the market!
Sources confirm to UsMagazine.com that the singer, 30, became engaged to beau Eric Johnson on Thursday, just days after Us broke the news that her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, popped the question to Vanessa Minnillo, his love of nearly five years. Simpson and Lachey, 37, split in 2005, after three years of marriage.
On Saturday, Simpson flashed a sizable ring on her left hand during an appearance at Dillard's at Oak Park Mall in Kansas City.

Unseen documented footage for Beyonce’s ‘Ring The Alarm’ rehearsal has now surfaced. The preparation was for her MTV VMAs performance in 2006. On the flip side, a small scene that was added to the film not found in the book was one where Harry and Hermione share a dance in their tent after Ron leaves. Yates explained how he came upon this song by artist Nick Cave:
"I listened to so many pieces of music for that dance, hundreds in fact, because I needed a piece of music that was poignant and tender but oddly uplifting. And I came across Nick's piece and I loved it immediately. It has that capacity to lift you up and break your heart at the same time. So we found Nick Cave and he said he'd be happy for us to use it."Dan Radcliffe too was a fan of the song:
"When the Nick Cave song came on, I said to my friend, "That. Is the coolest Harry Potter has ever been." And then my friend said "Yeah, but that's not." When I started dancing in the scene. It was something David made up on the spot pretty much, and Emma's quite a good dancer, so I had to sort of muddle through. But Harry shouldn't be a good dancer. He should be kind of crap, which he was. But next year on Broadway I hope to see a large improvement in that."Emma Watson agreed Radcliffe's dancing was less than great:
"As much as I love Dan, he's not a naturally gifted dancer. I think he knows. But it was perfect for the scene. It was meant to look silly and spontaneous. I love to dance. "
I'm curious as to what Nick Cave song they chose. Do you think it's 'Into My Arms'? I remember reading an interview a while ago where Dan said that he felt like it was the best love song.

Chris Martin and Coldplay have earned high praise from rapper Kanye West, who says they are "more talented" than the Beatles.
In a recent interview with Britain's The Sun, West said The Beatles set the standard for rock bands, but in time Coldplay will raise the bar.
"We have had amazing bands like Nirvana and Guns N' Roses but it's the British who have had the cream with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones setting the standard."
West goes on to say that he believes Coldplay will be leaving a lasting legacy on rock music that is even more important than that left by the Fab Four. He says Chris Martin is a "genius" who is "on the same level as John Lennon."
"I love Coldplay, and I honestly think they are on the same level as The Beatles. In 30 years, when Coldplay are old men, people will look back and say, 'These guys were more talented than the Beatles.'"
don't cry yet, guise. it's still The Sun after all.
Coldplay are currently at work on the follow up to their 2008 smash album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends. It will be the band's fifth studio album and is set for release sometime next year.
What's up with Miley Cyrus? Parents everywhere seem to have some strong opinions on the matter, whether favorable or not.
It's pretty evident the Disney starlet is on the cusp of adulthood. Whether she's strutting around in her skivvies in music videos, painting the town red in barely-there hot pants, or nonchalantly sipping a beer with her pals, she's eager to show the world she's all grown up.
And, really, who can blame her? After spending most of her adolescence constrained by the shackles of Mickey Mouse, she's finally free to let loose with her new, bad girl self.
Miley turns eighteen later this month, a milestone birthday even for those of us whose childhoods weren't documented by Disney.

Bethany Joy Galeotti was keeping news about her pregnancy under wraps despite the E! Exclusive Report but thanks to some bat shit crazy One Tree Hill fans she was forced to announce her not-so-secret pregnancy on her official blog:
Well, it's no secret now that Michael and I are expecting a baby. That is not an easy thing for me to share, because I'm quite introverted and the idea of people I don't know (however friendly and dedicated) being included on intimate details of my life is extremely uncomfortable for me, especially when it's something as tender and fragile as a little life that looks to me for protection.
However, I share this with you now because, as many of you know, our private "Baby Galeotti" announcement which included photos of me receiving my ultrasound and copies of our sonogram pictures, was stolen by a hacker and posted for the public. Devastating though this was and certainly a rape of privacy and intimate moments between my husband and me and our family-- I know that something good can come from this...
And despite being the victim of hacking, Joy registered for Twitter.

Director Darren Aronofsky revealed the title on Saturday for the new Wolverine movie starring Hugh Jackman. The movie, to be titled The Wolverine, will not be a sequel to the Gavin Hood-directed X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Aronofsky told HitFix that The Wolverine will be a "one-off," or standalone project. The script, written by Christopher McQuarrie, involves Logan beginning a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won't take "no" for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers.
A release date has not been set yet for the film.

Although she is still the tough, take-no-prisoners, feisty woman we met in the pilot episode, "Castle's" Detective Kate Beckett has undergone a physical transformation over the last three seasons.
Gone are season one's masculine pantsuits, wide collars and short hairstyle. Season three strongly favors sleek leather jackets, plunging necklines and long locks. It's almost as if the NYPD hired an image consultant to turn their top detective into "a girl."
But Kate Beckett isn't the first small screen crimefighter to be glammed up as the seasons changed. In fact, the deeper I dug, the more I noticed how frequently female law enforcers are "de-butched" after their first season.

Emma Watson hated Harry Potter filming schedule
HARRY Potter star Emma Watson says she almost quit the film series at the age of 16.
Despite earning more than $30 million playing Hermione Granger, Emma has complained she felt trapped by the "horrible" filming schedule.
The 20-year-old, now studying at Brown University in the US, was locked into a contract when cast for the first film, Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, aged nine.
But her deal with Warner Brothers came up for renewal while she was shooting the fifth film, The Order Of The Phoenix, in 2006.
Co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, who play Harry and Ron, also had the chance to quit, but never gave it a thought.
However, Emma was unsure she wanted to continue being controlled by a plot in which she had to behave like an old-fashioned schoolgirl.Agreeing to sign up for another five years was "agonising", she said.
"I love to make people laugh and I love being creative, but there are so many other things I love doing too," she said.source.

Nicki Minaj’s alter-ego Roman Zolanski wreaked havoc with Eminem’s Slim Shady on their collaboration “Roman’s Revenge.” But Nicki has a few more high-profile guests in store on her debut album, including Rihanna and Kanye West.
The Queens femcee and red-haired Bajan teamed up for “Raining Men,” a song from Rihanna’s new album Loud. RiRi returned the favor, adding her vocals to “Fly” for Pink Friday. “‘Fly’ is one of my absolute faves. I wanted to work with Rihanna for a long time. I’m very proud of her accomplishments, especially since she was born on an island like me,” wrote Nicki on her Facebook page. “This song is a female empowerment song. But then again, it’s not specific to just women. It speaks about flying, soaring high in the face of every single solitary adversity that comes your way.
“I speak about how the media has attempted to box me in and how that has made me feel suffocated. After years of being dragged thru the mud, I’ve mustered up the courage to re-define myself. I believe that I represent an entire generation. My fans have become my family and together we have become a movement. Get ready for it. We came to win.”
The Harajuku Barbie also spoke about her Kanye-assisted record “Blazin’” in an interview with DJ Drama. “That record is a dope, dope, dope record where Kanye shows off as always,” she shared. “It’s one of those for my dudes to ride to, not really crazy and animated, but just like one of them ride outs when you feel good and you just got the top down and you just want to zone out.”
Nicki appears on two songs on Kanye’s album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. She voices the intro to the album opener “Dark Fantasy” and spits a show-stealing verse on “Monster.”

The 'Black Swan' actress hates being judged on her looks and can't understand why some people, particularly guys, become so obsessed with their appearance.
She said: "Beauty can be a hindrance, especially if that's the only thing that matters to other people. I'm also aware that being considered attractive can be a huge factor in getting work in my profession.
"Beauty can be boring if you're with a guy who is focussed on his looks or your looks all the time.
"I know a lot of male actors who are totally obsessed with creating a certain look."
Though Natalie, 29, doesn't understand the fascination with looking good, she appreciates a man with confidence in themselves.
The actress - who is dating dancer Benjamin Millepied - added: "I appreciate men who are confident in their masculinity, who don't need to work out every day, don't fuss about their appearance. I prefer men who know what they want out of life."
We already know that Kevin McKidd can act. Now let’s see how he directs! ABC has confirmed that McKidd – aka Dr. Owen Hunt – will helm episode 13, which will air in early February. It will be his first time directing an episode of the drama.
McKidd has helmed some of Grey’s webisodes, which likely led to this new development. It’s unclear what will happen in the 13th episode, but McKidd isn’t the first employee of Seattle Grace to sit in the director’s chair. Chandra Wilson (Dr. Miranda Bailey) also got a chance.
The Scottish actor – who previously appeared in Journeyman and Rome – has been on Grey’s since 2008.
I love him! This is my guilty pleasure show and yes, I realize that you might find it shitty but I don't really give a fuck.

Anne Hathaway won't have Botox because she doesn't want to "erase" who she is.
The 'Love and Other Drugs' star was offered the wrinkle-smoothing injections when she was just 23, but won't have the treatment because her face's imperfections tell the story of her life.
She told the UK edition of Elle magazine: "I had someone offer me Botox at 23. From the age of 25 to 27 - and this is a little embarrassing to admit - I looked under my eyes every single day, because I thought, 'It's going, it's going, it's going!' And then I realized the other day there not wrinkles; they're smile lines. If you look at pictures of me from a young age, I've been smiling the same way since I was little. And I had that wonderful moment when you realize, 'That's who I am.'Botox would erase that."
The 28-year-old actress - who shot to fame in 'The Princess Diaries'- insists she has stopped defining herself by her looks and is comfortable in her own skin.
She added: "My identity used to be shaped on my appearance so much. I don't think I was shallow - I just think I was young. I focus on other things a lot more now.
Just as she won't have Botox, Anne refuses to stick a strict diet because trying to be skinny isn't fun.
She said: "I've hit the point in my life where I understand that being skinny is not sustainable, and nor is it advisable, and nor is it enjoyable."

Scarlett Johansson and her husband Ryan Reynolds are reportedly so “freaky-deaky” that instead of waiting to get home to have sex, the happily married couple opted to get it on in Reynolds’ movie trailer!
According to new reports from the National Enquirer, Scarlett showed up to the set of Ryan’s new movie “Green Lantern” on a regular basis so that the two could bone in Ryan’s trailer, with a friendly “Do Not Disturb” sign posted outside.
“During filming, Scarlett would regularly show up on the set and hang around for a while — then lure hunky hubby into his dressing trailer,” a source said. “Ryan would hang a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign outside, letting everyone know he didn’t want to be bothered — then he’d emerge after 45 minutes or so with a big smile on his face.”
Get it in where you can fit it in, we guess, smh…

- On having her body criticized as a kid
“When I did Good Times, they used to bind my chest because I was developing breasts at a young age… It immediately makes you think, ‘The way I am isn’t good enough.’ They thought I was too heavy and that I needed to lose weight. When I look back at the show, I was your average-size kid.”( Collapse )
Fantastic news for Wes Anderson fans: the auteur’s next project appears to be lined up—and actors are already lining up for it. Deadline.com has reported that Anderson is set to begin production in late spring 2011 on the sixties-set Moon Rise Kingdom (written by Anderson and Roman Coppola), concerning two young lovers who run away and the adult leaders of their small New England town who try to track them down. It comes as no surprise that Bill Murray has been named as part of the cast, but the others currently attached are head-turning: Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, and Tilda Swinton. Moon Rise Kingdom, which will be Anderson’s first live-action film since 2007’s The Darjeeling Limited, is to be produced by Scott Rudin, who has worked on every Anderson title since The Royal Tenenbaums.
I am beyond ecstatic right now.
Once upon a time (in 2001, to be exact), there was an 11-year-old boy with a lightening bolt scar who was unaware of his extraordinary powers. And I’m not just talking his soon-to-be-discovered magical prowess, but also his jaw-dropping power to inspire millions of fans young and old to excitedly storm their local theaters to catch the first showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. (The experience of seeing the film for the first time was priceless for many, and it certainly paid off for Warner Bros.: The studio bagged a record-breaking $33.3 million during the first day, beating the one-day record previously held by Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and $90 million during the movie’s opening weekend.) It’s appropriate that J.K. Rowling’s boy-wizard creation is nicknamed “the boy who lived” — Harry Potter might have survived Voldemort’s attack on his parents, but he’s also boasted incredible longevity on the big screen, continuing to cement himself as the beloved, albeit scarred, face of one of Hollywood’s most enchanting juggernaut franchises.
So, in anticipation of the Nov. 19 release of part one of the franchise’s final film — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — we’ve decided to take a look back at the movie that chronicled the bespeckled boy-wizard’s first trip to Hogwarts: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Rupert: Well, speaking as a wizard, we’re going to get paid in Muggle money, and I don’t really understand it.
Battleship, Monopoly and an American board game named Candy Land, which looks a bit like Snakes and Ladders, are all apparently set for the Hollywood treatment. Now it looks like an even more preposterous candidate could be set for the big screen: Rubik's Cube.
According to What's Playing's Hollywood Insider, the multicoloured puzzle may soon be the centrepiece of a new movie after the powerful talent agency CAA began shopping screen rights around studios. The toy has previously been featured in movies such as Dude, Where's My Car, The Pursuit of Happyness, WALL-E, Duplicity and even Swedish vampire horror Let the Right One In (and its recent US remake, Let Me In), but has not yet been the focus of its own feature. Storylines being touted around include a Rubik's Cube competition, which sounds like it took a lot less time to come up with than it usually takes to solve the puzzle itself.
If that all sounds a bit like scraping the bottom of a very deep barrel, you only have yourselves to blame – at least if you're willing to count as part of the not-so-great cinemagoing public. Of this year's top 10 films in the US (the situation is no doubt similar here) only two are based on original properties. The rest, Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man 2, Twilight: Eclipse, Shrek Forever After, How to Train Your Dragon, The Karate Kid and Clash of the Titans, are all either remakes or adaptations of previously existing source material.
What this tells Hollywood, apparently, is that brand is the key, whether or not the particular storyline really lends itself to being immortalised on celluloid. In the last couple of years we've also seen romcoms based on self-help books (He's Just Not That Into You), and in the wake of the success of The Social Network, we seem due for a wave of biopics about the founders of vaguely interesting techy websites. "They" will literally try anything.
On the other hand, an examination of Rubik's Cube's origins might actually make for some reasonably meaty material, since (like Facebook) there have been arguments over who originally came up with the idea. But that seems unlikely given that the makers of the toy are the ones hawking the rights. Perhaps someone should call Vincenzo Natali and ask him to direct a kid-friendly remake of his excellent 1997 sci-fi brainteaser Cube, this time featuring everyone's favourite lunchtime pastime (and possibly rather fewer deadly traps and hurdles). It couldn't be more tedious than that competition idea, could it?
Burlesque star Cher denies that she is "man crazy" although she did expressed love for men in general. Previously, it was reported that Cher has taken to Facebook to meet men while doing her show in Las Vegas.
"I loved all of those guys. I had the best time. I'm not man crazy, but I loved being with them," said the singer, in an interview set to be published in Parade magazine.
"It takes a very strange man to be the right man for me, there's no mathematical equation."
In the same interview, the Oscar winner said she keeps in touch with all the men with whom she had a relationship .
Cher said: "I've remained friends with the guys that I've been with. I stay in touch with all of them. I never had any kind of acrimonious relationship with any of the men I've been with. Our relationships might not have ended calmly but we cooled down, and we're still friends."
