It is a stunning and dramatic turnaround for the 24-year-old Hollywood wild child, who has perpetually blamed her one-time drug addict dad for her problems.

International Box Office

"Due Date" Tops Int'l Box Office with $21.5 Million. Jackass 3D" at No. 2 and unstoppable "Despicable Me" at No. 3 help studios mark record-setting box office high.

Hollywood's six major studios nailed down an annual box office high by weekend's end with nearly two months of overseas playtime left on the 2010 calendar.

The new yearly record was reached despite a seasonally so-so weekend stanza overall, which saw director Todd Phillips' comedy Due Date costarring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis take the No. 1 spot on the foreign circuit with $21.5 million collected from some 4,000 screens in 36 markets. (Distributor Warner Bros. said the overseas Due Date opening tally was almost identical to that registered by The Hangover in the same markets. Phillips' 2009 hit comedy went on to gross $191.6 million on the foreign circuit.)

From January through October, the studios -- 20th Century Fox, Disney, Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony and Universal -- collectively grossed offshore box office of $10.661 billion, according to studio figures, from all territories outside of the U.S. and Canada.

That was an increase of 30% over last year's comparable 10-month period, and only $39 million shy of calendar 2009's record foreign box office of $10.7 billion. The $39-million box office gap was collectively erased by the majors in the Nov. 1 through Sunday period.

And, with several big tentpoles in the wings – including Warner Bro.'s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, which rolls out Nov. 19, and Disney's Tron Legacy, due in December – calendar 2010's total foreign box office will be significantly higher than the previous 2009 record. (Just in October, a slow month overall, the majors collectively grossed $819 million overseas.)

Fox is leading the six studios with a 10-month box office return of $2.544 billion, of which $121.2 million was grossed offshore just in the month of October. The year-to-date tally, a Fox International record, is 43% higher than the company's take in the January through October period of 2009.

Disney is second with $2.084 billion January through October, of which only $23.8 million was grossed last month. Vying to wrest second place from Disney this year is Warner Bro.'s, which registered $2.080 billion in 10 months, $192 million in October. Paramount weighed in with $1.688 billion over 10 months and $92.7 million in October.

Sony was the leading distributor of the big six in October with a monthly gross of $228.6 million while logging $1.222 billion since January. Universal also had a strong October, registered $161 million. The studio passed the $1-billion overseas gross mark last month, logging $1.043 billion in the January through October period.

Sexy shower scene cut from 'The Tourist' because SOMEBODY complained.

A shower scene involving Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie has reportedly been cut from the pair’s upcoming film The Tourist.

According to The Daily Mail, the scene was removed after Depp’s longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis complained about the sexual content.

"She put pressure on Johnny and finally he said he wanted the shower scene out," a source explained. "He told the producers it cheapened the movie and I am assured that his wishes are being honoured."

In the movie, Depp plays an American tourist that seduces an Interpol agent (Jolie). The script reveals that in one scene Depp’s character presses Jolie against the glass wall of a shower, caressing her naked body.

On hearing about the scene, Paradis allegedly asked for it to be cut because she felt threatened by Jolie.

"Angelina comes with a reputation. She stole Brad Pitt from Jennifer Aniston when they were shooting Mr & Mrs Smith together," the source stated.

The Tourist opens in US and UK cinemas on December 10

Would you jizz over an animated Harry Potter series???

Steven Spielberg wanted to make the Harry Potter franchise into an animated series, it has been reported.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Spielberg was offered the chance by Warner Bros to direct the Harry Potter films just after the books had become a worldwide phenomenon.

"I did think it would be worthwhile for Steven Spielberg to direct," Warner Bros president Alan Horn said. "We offered it to him."

However, Spielberg envisioned the series as being animated, a vision that was not shared by Horn.

He explained: "One of the notions of Steven’s was, 'Let’s combine a couple of the books, let’s make it animated', and that was because of the [visual effects and] Pixar had demonstrated that animated movies could be extremely successful. Because of the wizardry involved, they were very effects-laden. So I don’t blame them. But I did not want to combine the movies, and I wanted it to be live action."

Spielberg ultimately turned down the directing role in favor of A.I.: Artificial Intelligence.

X Factor Katie's drunken rant backstage.

X FACTOR diva Katie Waissel got wasted on booze backstage and launched into a drunken rant.

The 24-year-old singer, who has become a major hate target, downed a whole bottle of whisky and ripped into the show.

She was desperate to drown her sorrows after her performance on Saturday night was panned.

Katie smuggled the bottle in and shocked the other acts by knocking back shot after shot. The blonde singer was seen stumbling around the corridors shouting and ranting, and is believed to have slagged off Simon Cowell, 51, and others on the show.

She was heard saying: “I’m the f***ing best singer here. I’ve had to put up with sh*t on this show. Everyone else has got it f***ing easy.”

The other singers in the contest stayed out of her way, fearing a personal backlash from her. Staff gave Katie black coffee and water to try to sober her up before she was taken to the X Factor house.

One source said: “Katie was as pissed as a fart. She smuggled the bottle in. She was steaming.”

Miley Cyrus Would Trade All Her Success to Fix Parents' Marriage

Sources tell me Miley Cyrus blames her success for her parents' divorce and would give up every dollar and gold record she ever earned if dad Billy Ray and mom Tish would agree to give marriage one more try.

"Both parents have been equally involved in making their daughter a superstar," a friend of the teen singer tells me. "And now that they have achieved their goal they have nothing to work towards anymore and nothing to keep them together."

Insiders who have known the couple for years tell me Billy Ray and Tish have gone from being loving partners and parents to business managers, spending all their time and attention focusing on their daughter's career and forgetting to focus on each other.

"Every marriage struggles when a child leaves home and the relationship gets re-examined, but add on top of that that every second of the past decade Billy Ray and Tish have spent building a star together, they have forgotten to make time for each other," a music executive tells me. "It's heartbreaking. You would think that someone like Miley has everything in the world but I guarantee she would give it all up in a second if it kept her family together. I'm sure when she blows out her birthday candles in a few weeks her wish will be for mom and dad, not her career."

How ironic now that Miley is old enough to manage her own career -- worth well over $50 million dollars -- both Billy Ray and Tish's dream has come true at the cost of their marriage.

Anne Rice suggests Matt Bomer for revived 'Vampire Chronicles' franchise

Anne Rice seems to watch a lot of television. On the subject of casting a possible cinematic reboot of her "Vampire Chronicles" series, the author throws out a lot of random names, including dapper "White Collar" star Matt Bomer.
Vulture recently interviewed Rice, and though she maintains that she doesn't have (or really want) anything to do with another "Interview With the Vampire," she's certainly not opposed to randomly nominating handsome actors to sign on.

"Louis, right now, he could be portrayed easily by Richard Armitage or Matt Bomer," she says of the role originated by Brad Pitt. "Matt Bomer is a beautiful, beautiful guy. He could play Louis."

He is. And he could.

Monday Oscar post, week 3

Oscar Futures: James Franco Way Up

Every week between now and January 25 when the nominations are announced, movies and stars will help themselves — or sometimes, hurt themselves — in the Oscar race.
For the third week (last week's post right here), we continue our coverage of Vulture's Oscar Futures to find out who's up, who's down, and who's currently leading the race for a coveted nomination – this week, one change in best movie, a few in acting , and not much else, so I’ll add a few trailers for the possible best picture nominees (some are pretty amazing), and those who saw something new on the weekend can update us on what they thought about it.

Best Picture

UP: Toy Story - Finally, with the movie out on DVD this week, Oscar voters can cry during the ending without fear of embarrassment.

Down:The King's Speech. The movie's eight British Independent Film Award nominations this week are all canceled out by Speech's hideous poster, says S.T. Vanairsdale, correctly. (it is pretty hideous tbh. Even the all black poster I was using before was less terrible.)

CURRENT PREDIX: 127 Hours, Another Year, Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, The King's Speech, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, True Grit, Winter’s Bone.

Jessica Alba gets schooled.

Screenwriter John August responds to Jessica Alba's 'good actors never use the script' comment
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“Good actors never use the script unless it’s amazing writing. All the good actors I’ve worked with, they all say whatever they want to say.” — Jessica Alba, to Elle Magazine.

Let those words sink in. Click on Dame Alba’s IMDb resume, and let them sink in some more. I will now yield the floor to the august screenwriter John August (Big Fish), who responds on his blog:

“I have to believe she was misquoted, or excerpted in some unflattering way … Oh, Jessica. Where to start? … Following your logic, you’ve never been in a movie with both good actors and amazing writing. That may be true, but it might hurt the feelings of David Wain, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. … Screenwriters can be your best friends. We are pushovers for attractive people who pay attention to us. I wrote that bathtub scene in Big Fish because Jessica Lange made brief eye contact with me. So if you’re not getting great writing — and honestly, you’re not — ask to have lunch with the screenwriter. I’ve seen you on interviews. You’re charming. That charm could work wonders.”

Pardon the long excerpt, but I wanted to get the words juuuust right. What was Alba thinking, and is it possible for her to clarify her remarks to prevent her future characters from plummeting to their deaths down open elevator shafts?

RDJ is Mr. Peanut. No, really.

Where will providing the voice for Mr. Peanut slide in on the list of Robert Downey Jr.’s most important roles? The New York Times reported this weekend that Kraft Foods is giving the iconic Mr. Peanut a makeover, complete with the help of the Due Date star’s devil-may-care pipes.

Premiering on Facebook tonight at midnight, “fans” will get a chance to see the rebooted Mr. Peanut campaign before it heads to televisions and movie screens. What can you expect?
The humorous commercial will also unveil a new look for Mr. Peanut, meant to give him a more authentic appearance by evoking designs of the character that date to the 1930s and 1940s. He is now brown, rather than yellow, and sports — appropriately for a spokes-character — a gray flannel suit.

Nothing says spokes-peanut like a gray flannel suit. Having the voice of a major movie star probably won’t hurt either. Said Jason Levin, senior director for marketing at Planters East Hanover, N.J. office: “One thing we learned is that while people love Mr. Peanut, they weren’t connecting with him beyond the nostalgia. Having him able to speak is bringing him to life as a personality, and people can engage with him more.”

As the Times so hilariously notes: “Mr. Levine hastened to reassure fans that ‘he’s still Mr. Peanut, with the top hat and monocle and cane.’” Brilliant. Hey, for RDJ, this has to be a better gig than Heart and Souls, right?

He does have kind of a hot voice. I love how utterly weird he is sometimes. Who else has seen him at the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk? Mr. Peanut, I mean. Not RDJ.

Kim Kardashian launching a credit card for kids

Kim Kardashian, along with marketing her own diet pills, clothing, perfume, etc. etc., is now going to be endorsing the Kardashian Prepaid MasterCard
, according to the New York Post. The card launches Tuesday night (Nov. 9) at Pacha in New York and is backed by Mobile Resource.

The idea behind the card is so that parents can monitor their children's spending amounts and habits. A spokesperson for Mobile Resource says, "Teens do not spend their money as their parents think they do. And, drugs are a huge problem in this country. I give my son a small amount of cash and track his spending on his card."

At first glance, a credit card for children as young as 13 seems a little ridiculous. But teaching kids how to manage money and what having a credit card means is a good lesson to learn early -- before they get to college and go hog wild with plastic. Plus, it probably is better than giving them cash because parents will be able to see how their child is spending his or her money.

What do you think, readers? Good product for Kardashian to endorse?

I just spent way too much money at Urban Outfitters and Target. My credit card hates me.

"Days Of Our Lives" Renewed For 2 Years

Tying the announcement to Days of Our Lives' 45th season celebration today, NBC announced that it has picked up the daytime drama for two more years through the 2012-13 season. "Days of our Lives remains vitally creative through the years as it continues to draw new generations of viewers, especially among its loyal female audience" said NBCU TV Entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin.

It is a shot in the arm for the daytime drama genre which has seen its ranks dwindle in the past few years amidst continuous ratings declines. Days of our Lives, preoduced by Sony TV, first premiered as a half-hour drama in 1965 and expanded to an hour 10 years later. Season to date, it is averaging 2.6 million viewers.

Steven Yeun talks about working on "The Walking Dead"

The actor discusses the pleasures of receiving a walker back massage, describes the smell of prosthetic intestines and relates the grossest thing he's ever seen.

Q: You worked with The Second City in Chicago. Have you been able to use your improv skills in The Walking Dead?

A: Yes. There are moments where there are no written lines, but there are actions: Glenn and Rick run down the street with zombies chasing them, jump over a fence and get to the other side. You can't just not say nothing while you're being chased by zombies. You have to scream, something. It might not be the most intense improv in terms of making up a whole set of dialogue and back story, but you kind of just speak freely.

Q: Are you scared of the walkers in the show?

A: Personally, I am more terrified of ghosts. It stems from the fact that it's not tangible per se. It's something I can't physically harm. What does freak me out about walkers is that you can hit them, rip their arm off, let's say, and they'll still keep coming at you. It's that persistence that is terrifying because it borderline-treads on that idea of a ghost, where I can't do any harm to it.

Wet 2 video game starring Eliza Dushku confirmed

Good news for fans of Behaviour's rockabilly-rinsed, Eliza Dushku-infused grindhouse-em-up Wet: the recently rebranded studio (formerly A2M) is working on a sequel. "We're working on Wet 2 right now and Naughty Bear 2," Behaviour CEO Rémi Racine told Joystiq. When asked if the team began development of Wet 2 immediately following the original, Racine simply said, "The team is still at it, but that's all I can say."

Racine is obviously proud of his team's work on Wet but was disappointed that it got caught up in the Activision Blizzard merger. Wet was originally scheduled to be published by Vivendi and didn't make it onto Activision's roster; instead, some six months after the merger Bethesda took over publishing duties. While Racine wouldn't confirm whether or not Bethesda would reprise its role as publisher, he did comment on the original's underperformance. "We were very happy with [Bethesda's] commitment," Racine told us. "But, in their defense, we probably signed them too late. We should have signed them probably six months prior so we had more time to market the game. I think they came in late. Still, they did a very good job of promoting the game in the community. In the time that they had they did a very good job."

When asked whose decision it was to release Wet at the relatively budget price of $50, Racine said, "It was Bethesda's decision to decide the price. To be honest, you should ask them. I see the result and I won't comment; we get our fair share of the revenue. But it was their resonsibility to decide on the price." When asked if Wet 2 – and other future Behaviour titles – would be full-priced, Racine said, "I think there's a difference between Naughty Bear and a Wet title. Naughty Bear, I feel is more a $50 type of game. Wet I think deserved to be at full price."

There's a lot of us at Joystiq who thought Wet was one of the best titles in 2009, so we're eager to see if a sequel can polish the promise the original had. Naughty Bear on the other hand ... let's just say there's no shortage of areas upon which to improve.

Did you guys play the first Wet? It was decent I thought, fun to hear Eliza drop the f-bomb every other word. And Eliza said to "have patience" on a Wet movie starring her that may or may not happen.

Jake Gyllenhaal Dodges Taylor Talk

If this isn't a definitive sign that two stars are dating, what is?

At his Love and Other Drugs press conference on Saturday at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan, Jake Gyllenhaal dodged a question about his relationship with Taylor Swift. And he wasn't alone in that pursuit.

Asked what's going on between the actor and the country star, Gyllenhaal's Love costar Anne Hathaway quickly interjected, mock-shouting at the reporter who inquired (seemingly in order to save her friend).

As an uncomfortable-looking Gyllenhaal kept silent, Hathaway yelled, "Hang on, hang on, I have to say something! I have been Jake's onscreen love interest for years, all right? You keep the conversation to me and only me, otherwise I'm going to get nasty!"

Gyllenhaal simply quipped, "You get Ella Enchanted pissed off ..." (Swift similarly avoided questions about her rumored beau on Ellen DeGeneres last month.)

Meanwhile, if Swift was also in New York City over the weekend, and if the pair did meet up again, they did a good job of keeping it under wraps. She was in Nashville Sunday to rehearse for the CMA Awards.

Moviefone's Unscripted for 'Unstoppable' with Denzel Washington & Chris Pine

'Unstoppable' stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pine return from months of filming in rail yards and running on trains to sit down for our cameras and wax philosophic on heroes, share their experiences working on the film and tell the story of the weeping director.

Denzel must have had some really good experiences in transit ("mile-high club" on a train? Respect, Denzel) -- and some really bad ones with fans. Though he doesn't give us much in either category, Denzel seems shy about sharing his weirdest fan experience and insinuates he's feared for his safety on more than one occasion. We're not surprised. He is, after all, Denzel Washington.

He's not tight-lipped about everything, though. Denzel tells us about his childhood life-changing experiences watching 'Shaft' and 'Superfly.' Don't miss the story about Tony Scott, the "sensitive" director of 'Unstoppable.'

Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre — the first since Franco Zeffirelli’s Charlotte Gainsbourg-starring attempt in 1996 — is one of my most curiously awaited films of 2011. The novel, a personal favorite, has been filmed multiple times, with no screen version quite hitting the jackpot: I’m intrigued, then, to see what fresh insight the young director of Sin Nombre will bring to the material. (Here’s hoping the corsets don’t constrict his personality the way they did the similarly indie-based Jean-Marc Vallée’s in The Young Victoria.)

With Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender playing Brontë’s tortured lovers, the film couldn’t be more ideally cast — in addition to the above-the-title names, Sally Hawkins also features — and this sleek, elegant poster (just unveiled by Focus, and picked up on by The Playlist) does promise a certain modernity. We’ll find out in the spring.

"Mike & Molly" Star Seriously Considering Losing Weight

"Mike & Molly" star Billy Gardell wants to drop the pounds. He's already at 350 and doesn't want to go any higher. "I think (CBS) will let us drop some weight if we choose to," he told me,referencing himself and co-star Melissa McCarthy. "I think I am at that place, healthwise. But I don't have any blood or heart problems. I'm 40.I have pushed this long enough."

In fact, he says he's in very good shape for a man of his size. Gardell quips that his doctor only says to him nowadays: "You're fat" and leaves it at that. Gardell does have "bad knees" as a result of his weight. "I have weird genes," he says. "I don't have any blood sugar problems. My cholesterol is good. It actually frustrates my doctor."

How does he plan to do it? "I have learned slow is better for me. I have tried every crazy (kind) of diet, and it works for two or three weeks then I snap. Now that I am making a little bit more money, I might get myself a nutritionist, maybe a trainer, and take it a step at a time."

Kanye West's EMA Cameo Was 'Last-Second'

MADRID — Without a doubt, the biggest shock of the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards was Kanye West's surprise performance with 30 Seconds to Mars at the iconic Puerta de Alcala. But if you think you were surprised, well, then you should have seen how the guys in 30STM reacted when 'Ye showed up.

"This wasn't even last-minute, more like last-second," frontman Jared Leto told MTV News backstage at the EMAs. "Literally a day and a half ago, he was in New York and he got on, literally, the last flight, he made it out here. It's really a testament to him. ... I mean, Kanye West flew halfway across the world to be on the stage with 30 Seconds to Mars for a short period of time."

And, in keeping with the whole last-minute vibe, West and 30STM decided just moments before stepping onstage that they wanted to change their performance up. Originally, they were set to just perform the version of "Hurricane" that appears on 30 Seconds' upcoming reissue of This Is War, but then they decided to include a snippet of Yeezy's "Power" as well.

Dakota Fanning Named Homecoming Queen Two Years Running

She has played a vampire and a rock star and has been a household name since she shot to fame at the tender age of seven years old.

But Hollywood actress Dakota Fanning is still very much a down-to-earth, all-American girl-next door as these pictures show.

The 16-year-old actress received one of the biggest accolades an American teenage girl could get after she was crowned Homecoming Queen at her high school yesterday.

It was also the second year running that Dakota - who is also on the cheerleading squad - and the school's American Football team's quarterback were made Homecoming King and Queen at the £19,000-a-year private high school, Campbell Hall Episcopal in North Hollywood.

Tween Pulls Knife on Mother Over Justin Bieber

One 12-year-old was none too happy when his mother said that he couldn’t be ‘gay Justin Bieber‘ for Halloween. That’s when he decided pulling a knife was a good idea.

The bizarre incident happened in Surprise, Ariz. of all places. The mother refused to let her tween dress up as ‘gay Justin Bieber’ (is that different from regular Justin Bieber?). When the two got into it, the 12-year-old pulled a knife on his mama. She was able to disarm her son without hurting him and called the police. The po po then picked up his little pre-pubescent ass.

What in the world?!? Things were simple when I was a kid. You picked out your requisite Power Rangers costume and called it a day. Now we have gay Justin Bieber? GTFO.

Xtina & Matt: "They were friends until now."

People Magazine: Christina Aguilera is rebounding – discreetly – from the collapse of her marriage to Jordan Bratman.

The superstar singer, 29, has quietly been seeing Matthew D. Rutler, a set assistant from her upcoming movie Burlesque – whom she tried to hide from the cameras Friday when they enjoyed a double date at SoHo House in Los Angeles with friends Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

A friend tells PEOPLE that the relationship with Rutler started as a friendship, then turned into something more.
"It's not serious yet, but it's something she is exploring and finding comfort in," the friend says. "It's new and she’s taking it day by day. She and Jordan were having problems for a long time. What kept them together is their love for their son. She met [Matthew] on set and, during a difficult time, leaned on as a friend. After she and Jordan separated, the friendship turned romantic."

Oprah Talks to Michael Jackson's Mama and His Kids

As an album of Michael Jackson's previously-unheard music nears its release, his family is ready for a release of its own.

In a candid interview with Oprah Winfrey airing on "Oprah" today, Jackson's children, Prince, Paris, and Blanket, opened up about their pop icon father for the first time since his death.

Surrounded by their cousins at the Jackson family's California compound, Havenhurst, Prince, 13, and Paris, 12, talked about growing up with Michael.

"I kind of felt like no one understood what a good father he was. He was the best cook ever," Paris told Winfrey. "He was just a normal dad."

"He made the best French toast in the world," she added. "He just made the best breakfasts in the world."

Prince and Paris described Michael as "strict" but said he often treated them to sweets like Snickers candy bars and Coca-Cola.

Downton Abbey finale draws in 10 million viewers

The final episode of ITV1 costume drama Downton Abbey gained an average 10.1m viewers, while critics have reacted warmly to the show's overall impact.

The last instalment, which ended with news of Britain going to war with Germany in 1914, was watched by 11.4m at its peak on Sunday night.

Max Hastings, writing in the Daily Mail, called the programme "a good deed in a tacky screen world".

The drama has been recommissioned for a second series.

Rihanna on fashion, rock, and politics

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Pop superstars don't have a great reputation as caring, genuine or considerate.

But chart-topping Barbadian icon Rihanna bucks that trend.

In one of the busiest weeks of the stunning 22-year-old's career, she made an incredibly sensitive gesture few of her contemporaries would have bothered with.

The singer made a gruelling 48-hour, 8,000-mile round trip - flying from London to her home country of Barbados - to pay her respects at the funeral of the island's Prime Minister David Thompson.

She had no shortage of excuses to duck out, but she chose to be there for a man she admired and respected.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, she said: "He was a really dear friend of mine. It just sucks he didn't have enough time to really show Barbados what he was made of and all that he could have done.

"Just to be with his family, his friends, people that love him... it felt like it was the worst person it could happen to. He was a great man, great for the country.

This a Hunger Games Post

Real or Not Real : Seabiscuit director Gary Ross has reportedly confirmed he will be taking on the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' young adult novel The Hunger Games. REAL

Gary Ross' deal to direct Lionsgate's adaptation of Suzanne Collins' young adult tome "The Hunger Games" is all but done, with the director showing up at the company's AFM splash to plug the high-profile project.
Ross, whose helming credits include "Seabiscuit" and "Pleasantville," joined producer Nina Jacobson in discussing their vision for the event pic, one of the most buzzed-about titles at AFM.

Jacobson is producing through her Color Force banner, which secured the rights to produce the movie and set it up with Lionsgate last year.

Lionsgate's international sales arm, headed by Helen Kim, is selling foreign rights. Buyers are showing keen interest, with territory deals already starting to close.

Collins is penning the adapted screenplay. Scribe Billy Ray has been polishing.

The first in Collins' trilogy, "The Hunger Games" takes place in a society in which districts pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl who are forced to fight to the death on live TV.

Second tome, "Catching Fire," was published last year. The final book in the trilogy, "Mockingjay," came out earlier this year.

Among his other credits, Ross also performed a rewrite on "Spider-Man 4" for Columbia.

Because it's never too early to start talking about the Emmys...

Should 'Glee' star Chris Colfer really be nominated for best supporting DRAMA actor?

"Glee" competes as a comedy series at the Emmys and Golden Globes because that's where it has the best chance to win, but a good case can be made for "Glee" really being a drama series -- especially when weighing the performance of Chris Colfer. Colfer recently competed in the Emmy race for Best Supporting Comedy Actor for the  "Laryngitis" episode, which was quite dramatic – the one in which he belts out "Rose's Turn." So far this TV season, his best work was in "Grilled Cheesus," a poignant segment in which his character, Kurt, deals with the aftermath of his father’s heart attack and sings an emotional cover of the Beatles' "I Want To Hold Your Hand." The episode screams "Emmy submission," but it's also an episode that would fit much more comfortably on the drama side of the Emmy Awards.

The One & Only Wonder Woman Calls Out Megan Fox For Trashing Her

Appearing on 'Fox & Friends' (weekdays, 6 AM ET on Fox News), Lynda Carter, the actress who played the original Wonder Woman, had a strong reaction to Brain Kilmeade's suggestion that Megan Fox would make a great Wonder Woman in the potential reboot.

"Megan Fox actually kind of trashed Wonder Woman," Carter interjected. "She thought it was dumb . . . because what's the big whoop, making people tell the truth?"

"No, I mean I like (Fox)," Carter continued. "I just thought she shouldn't trash Wonder Woman."

We have to commend Carter for keeping it classy while still defending her beloved franchise. If Megan Fox ever criticized anything we held dear, we'd probably be overwhelmed with the urge to mention that Fox also thought 'Jonah Hex' and 'Jennifer's Body' would be good career moves.

Another British GQMF and some Twilight guy to be in Shadowland

Peter Straub's bestselling fantasy/horror novel Shadowland is heading to the big screen as a 3D production (of course) with Erik Canuel as director. The Hollywood Reporter says Jackson Rathbone ('Jasper' in "The Twilight Saga") and Bill Nighy (soon to be soon playing 'Rufus Scrimgeour' in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1") are in talks to star in Shadowland.

Filming will take place in Ireland and the UK.

"Shadowland" follows Del Nightingale and Tom Flanagan, two young boys who spend the summer away from their private school hanging out at Shadowland, an estate owned by Del's weird uncle, Coleman. Del and Tom had been practicing magic tricks at school, but Coleman's actually a real magician. However, as the summer days pass, Del and Tom's excursion into the world of magic becomes less innocent and more sinister...

In addition to his Harry Potter duties, Nighy also recently completed voice work on Rango for director Gore Verbinski and he's just been announced as one of the voice cast of the holiday tale, Arthur Christmas. Jackson Rathbone was recently seen in M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" and is about to start work on the last two films of the Twilight franchise, Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2.

Only posted because we need more Nighy posts on ONTD.

Low budget Mary Hart to replace actual Mary Hart on ET

Mary Hart is preparing to bid farewell to Entertainment Tonight – and Nancy O'Dell has been named as her successor.

"I remember watching Entertainment Tonight when it first premiered and dreaming about working for the show someday," O'Dell says. "I am honored to be the one chosen to fill a TV legend's seat and I hope I can do her proud!"

Over the summer, Hart, 60, announced her plans to leave the show in 2011 after nearly 30 years on ET.

"Leaving this job was not an easy decision, but knowing I will pass the baton to Nancy O'Dell makes that decision much easier," Hart said Monday. "Nancy is a talented and respected entertainment correspondent. We have spent many years working on opposite sides of the celebrity battlefield and I know the show will flourish with Nancy as co-anchor."

O'Dell, 44, who served as co-anchor of Access Hollywood for 13 years, will join ET as a special correspondent in January. She'll then take on the role of co-host, alongside Mark Steines, after Hart finishes out her final season on the show.,,20440458,00.html

Robert De Niro, Ashton Kutcher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Hilary Swank are in talks to join the cast of New Line's ensemble comedy "New Year's Eve," a spinoff to Garry Marshall's "Valentine's Day."

Lea Michele and Abigail Breslin have signed on to the pic, with both expected to be a part of a large ensemble.

Kutcher was part of "Valentine's Day," but the characters from that New Line pic won't be in "New Year's Eve" -- which will be set in New York and follow intertwining stories of characters trying to navigate their way through romance on New Year's Eve.

Marshall is expected to return to direct, as are producers Mike Karz and Wayne Rice and screenwriter Katherine Fugate. New Line has given "New Year's Eve" a Dec. 9, 2011, release date.

De Niro will be seen next in "Little Fokkers." Pfeiffer most recently toplined period drama "Cheri." Swank's toplining "Conviction."

Kristen Stewart Will Be 'Practically Naked' in 'Breaking Dawn'

Enjoy looking at Kristen Stewart on the big screen? Good, because soon you'll be seeing a whole lot more of her than you ever have before.

A source who's had a chance to read the script for the currently filming Twilight finale Breaking Dawn tells E! Online that K-Stew will be flashing plenty of flesh if director Bill Condon sticks to how the film is plotted out in the screenplay:

"The script actually has Kristen practically naked in it a lot."

On the downside, K-Stew's clothed scenes won't be quite as satisfying—at least the scenes in which she wears her highly anticipated wedding dress. The insider says of the frock,

"It's hideous. And it's not the designer's fault. Let's just say someone who has final say on the matter has decided upon a terribly conservative and ugly gown."

This will no doubt be a disappointment to Stewart herself, who late last month expressed her full confidence that she'd be marrying Edward Cullen in a gown fitting of the momentous occasion. Maybe the producers should consult our gallery of Kristen Stewart's Hottest Looks and go back to the drawing board.

How much skin do you think Stewart will end up showing in Breaking Dawn?

Real World: Back To Las Vegas Casts Gay-For-Pay Porn Star

Posh Thinks Lady GaGa Has Become A "Parody" Of Herself

Victoria Beckham thinks Lady Gaga may have become a "parody" of herself.

The singer-turned-designer is often cited as one of the world's most stylish women, and the success of her eponymous fashion label has confirmed her status as a bona fide creator.

Victoria's brand is celebrated for its elegant robes and classic styles, and the designer isn't sure about celebrities such as Lady Gaga who opt for wacky outfits.

Nevertheless, the glamorous star does admire the kooky singer's ability to don such high heels when she's travelling.

"I have a lot of respect that she can walk in those shoes going through airports. I mean, goodness, people think I dress up to go to an airport! I think she's really doing her thing. That's her," Victoria told WWD.

"If I'm being completely honest, is it fair to say she may have become a little bit of a parody of herself? Is that fair to say?"

Victoria insists her own pop star days are far behind her. The talented celebrity was relieved when reviews of her latest collection complimented her style credentials and didn't focus on her Spice Girls career or her marriage to soccer star David Beckham.

"Very few even mentioned the Spice Girls, very few mentioned that I was a footballer's wife," she enthused.
