Ryan Gosling Says Mickey Mouse Club Was "Depressing"

We can imagine plenty of reasons why Ryan Gosling might remember the The Mickey Mouse Club as “depressing”: insane stage mothers, hideous outfits, lax child labor laws. Or was it because, as Gosling mentions in an interview with Steve Carrell, “in my age bracket, there were seven kids, three of whom were Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake.” Explains Gosling, “It was kind of depressing because when I got there, they realized that I wasn’t really up to snuff in comparison with what some of the other kids were able to do.” No wonder Gosling thought he blew! Imagine being compared to 3 of the biggest pop superstars of the past 15 years. Also, you’re 8.

Reminiscences Ryan, “I remember one time they put four of us in a dance routine, but I was so off. I was on the end, so they just pushed the shot in closer on the other three guys to frame me out. I would just come in at the beginning of the show and then come back at the end, and occasionally I’d have a sketch here or there, but I didn’t end up working that much, which was disheartening.” If it makes you feel any better Ryan, now you’re starring in a hotly anticipated movie with Michelle Williams and Britney Spears has pretty much forgotten how to dance…or sing…or do pretty much anything that would require concentration. And Christina Aguilera may have been an adorable child, but now? She’s looking like Marilyn Monroe got trapped in a tanning bed. From where we’re sitting, you and Timberlake are neck-and-neck for Least Fail. And that is not a depressing place to be at all.

Aubrey O'Day Has A New Reality Show

Aubrey O'Day recently began tweeting about the filming of her upcoming Oxygen reality show. Never one to shy away from the attention or the cameras of reality TV, the former Danity Kane singer is ready to return to the small screen, and this time, the long-simmering show is all about her.

"Well, Oxygen's motto is living out loud, so I would say you're going to see Aubrey O'Day living out loud," she told MTV News at the Hard Rock Hollywood grand opening. "I don't think I've not done that, but obviously my voice is a bit outspoken, and I really don't play by anyone's rules, so I think you'll see a lot of that rebellious tendency that I have."

First Fat Female Superhero movie

My apologies for the dodgy image quality on this one but that does appear to be all that's available on this one.

Tucked away in the American Film Market listings for Uwe Boll's Boll AG comes word of a new project for the director, by my count at least his third directorial effort of the year along with Bloodrayne: The Third Reich and Auschwitz. This one? Horror comedy Blubberella. The pitch?

The first female fat superhero ...
She will kick major ass - with her major ass ...

All the BLOODRAYNE fans will love that movie!

Bear with me on this but I actually think that this is the sort of film that plays to Boll's strengths. When his stuff doesn't work it is almost always - at least in part - because it takes itself far too seriously but when he plays for comedy - see Postal - it turns out that the guy's actually got really good timing and a screw you mentality that leads to some solid laughs. Lindsay Hollister, Michael Paré, Clint Howard, and Uwe Boll himself star.

Kanye and Jay's Album is Going to Be Full Length!

Back in August, Kanye West revealed that he would be releasing a joint EP with none other than Jay-Z called Watch The Throne. Then, two tracks from the project were released as part of West's G.O.O.D. Fridays series. This past weekend, in an interview with MTV's Sway, West revealed that the project will be beefed up to full-length status, and that he plans to record with Hov in the south of France somewhat soon. Specifics as to what new tracks will appear on the project have not been revealed yet, or if the previously released G.O.O.D. Friday tracks that were implied to be a part of it will remain so. A release date is also still pending.

Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is due out Nov. 22.

Maria Sharapova's $250,000 Engagement Ring: All the Details!

Bling-a-ding ding!

L.A. Laker Sasha Vujacic made a slam dunk when he proposed to tennis champ Maria Sharapova last Tuesday.

A beaming Sharapova, 23, recently stepped out with her un-missable new engagement ring from her beau, 26.

"This ring makes a statement. It's no wonder why Maria is smiling in the photos! " jewelry expert Michael O'Connor tells UsMagazine.com.

O'Connor gives Us more details on the Grand Slam winner's bling: the center stone appears to be a cushion-cut diamond of approximately 7 to 8 carats on a thick, split-shank platinum band. See more shots of Maria's ring.

Estimated cost, according to O'Connor: $250,000.

After nearly a year of dating -- they first stepped out together at a November 2009 U2 concert -- Vujacic proposed to Sharapova in his Manhattan Beach, Calif. home. No wedding date has been announced.

Back in August, the Slovenia-born basketball star says he and Sharapova has "helped each other" become better at their respective sports. "We both understand what the other is doing and going through, and what it takes to do well in what we do," he said of Russia-born Sharapova.

The Nice Guy Who Puts the Mean Into ‘Glee’

IT’S true: Sue Sylvester is a man. Behind most great comedic actors, the saying goes, there is a great comedic writer. Will Ferrell has Adam McKay. Jack Lemmon had Billy Wilder. And Jane Lynch, who won an Emmy Award last month for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester, the acid-spewing, narcissism-redefining cheerleading coach on “Glee,” has Ian Brennan.

It was the 32-year-old Mr. Brennan, for instance, who wrote the classic Sue zinger: “You think this is hard? I’m passing a gallstone as we speak. That is hard!”

And this oh-so-subtle put-down, said to one glee club student: “So you like show tunes. It doesn’t mean you’re gay. It just means you’re awful.”

One of Ms. Lynch’s favorite Sue lines — again, written by Mr. Brennan — involves a threat, this time to her main nemesis, the glee-club director Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison): “I will go to the animal shelter and get you a kitty cat. I will let you fall in love with that kitty cat. And then on some dark, cold night I will steal away into your house and punch you in the face.”

Ms. Lynch said: “Ian is this incredibly nice, incredibly sweet guy who just happens to have a really cruel, supremely mean sense of humor. I think it has something to do with growing up Irish Catholic.”

Tables and chairs had been thrown around the room, causing hotel security to call 911, sources said. A chandelier was also damaged.

Sheen was taken to the hospital for unspecified reasons. His ex-wife Denise Richards, who was staying in a separate room, accompanied him.

Sheen told police he had been "out partying," sources said. After he returned to his room with an unidentified woman, he noticed his wallet was missing, causing him to fly into a rage, sources said.

Sheen was apparently in town with Richards and their children.

Enrique Still Dating Anna Kournikova

Anna Kournikova - Russian tennis star, Anna Kournikova and hispanic hitmaker Enrique Iglesias are still a cross-cultural coupled phenomena. Despite rumors of the couple splitting resurfacing from time to time, industry insiders continue to confirm that their love is strong:

“They are definitely together. Enrique has been out of the country on a promotional tour, so maybe that’s where the speculation is coming from,”

However, all isn't safe for the road to matrimony  for Anna Kournikova. Enrique says he has no plans to get married any time soon:

“I’m in a place right now where I don’t want to get married,” he said last year. “I don’t think in this day and age you need to. If there are children involved that’s a different story.”

IN a contemporary nightmare on YouTube titled “Zachary Quinto Cannot Escape the Swarm of Fans,” a mob of unrelenting Klingons outside a Hollywood event crowd in on the unnerved Mr. Quinto, shoving cameras and photographs in his face, demanding autographs as he struggles to navigate the two blocks to his car.

Such scenes are an inevitable hazard of the popularity he acquired over three seasons as the power-crazed watchmaker turned serial killer, Sylar, on NBC’s “Heroes” and as the intensely introspective Spock in the J. J. Abrams “Star Trek” reboot.

Kara DioGuardi Will Judge Bravo’s American Idol Clone

Congratulations are in order to Kara DioGuardi, who today joined the Bravo reality competition Going Platinum and became the last "old-school" American Idol judge to land her own gig. (Simon Cowell is prepping the U.S. version of The X Factor; Paula Abdul plans to judge the CBS series Got to Dance; and Randy Jackson will remain on Idol but must acclimate himself to the inclusion of two new mommies: Jennifer Lopez and a craggy, tell-it-like-it-is lady with elaborate highlights who may or may not be named "Roz.") The Jewel-hosted Bravo show will mostly ape Idol's successful formula, though it's restricted to singer-songwriters, off-limits to public voting, and will mine the drama produced by all twelve contestants living together. Also, since this is Bravo, we can probably expect more tattooed lesbians and gay showmances. Get excited!

Marie Claire Magazine hates seeing fat people on their tv screens

Should "Fatties" Get a Room? (Even on TV?)

The other day, my editor asked me, "Do you really think people feel uncomfortable when they see overweight people making out on television?"

Because I can be kind of clueless — I'm not much of a TV person — I had no idea what she was talking about, so she steered me to this CNN article, about the CBS sitcom Mike & Molly. As CNN explains, "the show centers around a couple who meet at an Overeaters Anonymous group [and] has drawn complaints for its abundance of fat jokes [as well as] cries from some viewers who aren't comfortable watching intimacy between two plus-sized actors."

My initial response was: Hmm, being overweight is one thing — those people are downright obese! And while I think our country's obsession with physical perfection is unhealthy, I also think it's at least equally crazy, albeit in the other direction, to be implicitly promoting obesity! Yes, anorexia is sick, but at least some slim models are simply naturally skinny. No one who is as fat as Mike and Molly can be healthy. And obesity is costing our country far more in terms of all the related health problems we are paying for, by way of our insurance, than any other health problem, even cancer.

Why Taylor Swift & Jake Gyllenhaal Are A Perfect Match

Unlike Taylor’s exes, including Joe Jonas and John Mayer, it sounds like Jake Gyllenhaal is exactly Taylor’s speed!
Following the release of Taylor Swift’s tell-all album, Speak Now, I don’t think anyone doubts that she has serious issues with the men in her life. “She comes on too strong,” a source close to the 20-year-old country star confides in HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “She scares off the men in her life … and her therapy is to express her feelings on paper.” Hence the album. But our source also tells us that 29-year-old Jake Gyllenhaal, who Taylor has been spotted with in NYC, could be exactly what she needs!

“[Taylor] has a thing for older men,” the source continues. “She’s young and wants what every girl wants her age — to get married. … [Taylor and Jake] just met and are spending time together, but Jake seems to want to settle down. He’s ready for marriage and he wants kids.”

Taylor and new maybe-boyfriend have been seen all over NYC the past couple of days. They were first spotted together Oct. 24 at the Saturday Night Live after party, before having lunch in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood later that day.

And it sounds like the people in Taylor’s life are 100 percent behind this potential pairing!

“The other men in Taylor’s life were bachelors, not looking for the family life,” the source tells us. “We are all rooting for her. It would be nice for her to find someone. She works so hard, but she needs a social life, too.”

Nancy Grace on Sister Wives Investigation "Kody Should Go to Jail!"

TLC’s hit reality show Sister Wives, which chronicles the lives of fundamentalist Mormon Kody Brown and his four wives – Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn – and 16 children in Utah has captivated audiences since it first aired. But by opening up their controversial lives to the world, the Browns have also made themselves suspect to legal charges and are currently under investigation for bigamy. Although the season finale aired last week, the drama is far from over.

To break down the legal issues with Sister Wives, OK! went to legal expert Nancy Grace. As the new host of the hit syndicated series Swift Justice With Nancy Grace, Nancy knows the law better than anyone on television. According to Nancy, if justice is served, Kody should be in jail.

Kody is legally only married to his first wife, Meri, but could he have a common law marriage because he lives with the other wives?
Utah does recognize common law marriage, but in this case bigamy trumps common law. He should go to jail.

How could being on the show be used against Kody and his family in court?
Video evidence is the best evidence. The cameras don’t lie. But forget what’s aired, there’s a mountain of unaired footage that will come into evidence too.

Jon Stewart Most Influential Man of 2010

Talk show host Jon Stewart was crowned the most influential man of 2010 on Tuesday, heading a list of 49 men who all swayed public opinion and were described as rule-breakers to some degree in a time of recession.

Stewart, who will host President Barack Obama on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" this week before holding a "Rally to Restore Sanity" at the weekend, claimed the No. 1 spot in an annual survey of about 500,000 readers of AskMen (www.askmen.com), a men's lifestyle website.

He was followed by Microsoft's Bill Gates while Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of social networking site Facebook, came in third place. Apple co-founder and chief executive officer Steve Jobs came fourth.

"We noticed the rule-breaking trend because it spans a lot of industries," James Bassil, editor-in-chief of AskMen, told Reuters.

The Event episode about the hottest cast member

'The Event' recap: This show is about the wrong characters
October 26, 2010

For reasons too boring to explain here, I had occasion to watch the entirety of the run of “FlashForward” last year. That show, one of the first on the list of shows with intriguing premises that fell apart because there was absolutely no attention paid to the characters (a list “The Event” is in danger of joining), had a lot of problems, but one of the problems only gradually revealed itself as the series went on. The show, for lack of a better phrase, was about the wrong people.

It wanted to be about a bunch of regular folks whose lives were changed by the fact that they got wrapped up in a global cataclysm, wherein everybody saw the future. But their visions of the future were often ridiculously prosaic and based on stuff nobody cared about. Who cared if one boring woman cheated on her boring husband with another boring man? So much more thought had been given to the overarching story than the characters that the soapy details of the characters’ visions just didn’t matter.

Janet Jackson: My Breasts Were Bound As A Child Actress

Janet Jackson is promoting her new self-help book, 'True You,' and she opened up to ABC News about her weight struggles that led her to write it.

"Everyone wanted to know about the weight loss, the weight gain -- how do I do it," she said. "It's just talking about my routine, my workout regimen, my nutrition. I wanted to talk about it."

Janet's body issues go way back to her first acting role, on the 70s television series 'Good Times.'

"I was actually doing 'Good Times,' and on our first day of shooting they bound my chest because they thought my breasts were too big," she said. "I got the part when I was 10, we started shooting when I was 11 -- I was developing early. It made me feel that the way that I am, it's not good enough.
That's why I decided to call [the book] 'True You.'"

Janet also talked about being married and divorced twice and her upcoming movie, Tyler Perry's 'For Colored Girls,' out November 5.

Ang Lee casts unknown in 'Life Of Pi'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Ang Lee remembers setting down the book Life of Pi and thinking to himself how glad he was not to have to adapt the best seller. "I thought it was great movie material, but no one in their right mind should spend $50 million on this," Lee recalls. "It's too complex."

Time for the director to engage in a little self-pity. Lee, who will adapt Yann Martel's 2001 lost-at-sea odyssey for the big screen, says he has found a leading man and plans to shoot the film in 3-D. And it's going to cost plenty more than $50 million. "It's expensive to shoot in 3-D," Lee says. "I know it's a great burden on me, but the story kept haunting me, and 3-D was the way for me to crack the book."

Lee cast Suraj Sharma, 17, a Delhi high school student who acted once in a school play, to play Pi Patel, the young man stranded after a shipwreck on a 26-foot lifeboat with a Bengal tiger, zebra, hyena and orangutan. Sharma was one of 3,000 teenage boys who auditioned. "He read one complex scene, and by the end he was crying," Lee says. "We all were."

In today's WTF news, they're turning "What To Expect When You're Expecting" into a movie

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Lionsgate has confirmed that they will adapt the bestselling pregnancy bible What To Expect When You’re Expecting and intend to give it the Love Actually and Valentine’s Day treatment. In other words, we’ll see a series of intertwining vingnettes with enough star wattage to blind most any moviegoer.

The film is still in the early planning stages, but we wanted to throw out our own casting recommendations — and hopefully Lionsgate is listening.

Dreamboat status aside, Jon Hamm would be perfect as frazzled father of three whose wife is expecting again. Mad Men gives him drama cred, 30 Rock gives him comedy cred, and really, who doesn’t want to see Don Draper play a fumbling, ultimately loving father? We all know Sally Draper would!

But Hamm would need someone to grab beers with at the local bar, and that’s where he can turn to Jason Bateman, who might play dad to an awkward teen, if only to remedy my Arrested Development separation anxiety.

As for the women, Rachel McAdams would nail nervous-mother-to-be, no? And may we suggest Jane Lynch as one part of a lesbian couple who is expecting via sperm donor? Considering Lynch’s storied career (Best in Show, Julie & Julia, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin) we know she has more up her sleeve than a red tracksuit.

Who do you think should be cast? We’re taking your suggestions below!

No, seriously, WTF? Why would anyone think that's a good idea? What thought processes went into this? Sounds like a stupid movie, TBH.

Ryan Gosling Interviewed by Steve Carell for Interview Magazine

Ryan Gosling

Photography Mikael Jansson

There are fortunes to be made playing thrill-seeking action heroes and cool-handed rakes that ooze the kind of innate primal magnetism that transcends language—and, sometimes, even forgoes it all together—and has allowed the American film industry to become a truly global one. So when an actor like Ryan Gosling chooses to build a career by repeatedly rebuffing the advances of that renowned dark mistress, Hollywood, it’s at least worth wondering whether or not she’s still got it. But from the beginning, Gosling’s choices have been almost refreshingly uneasy: From his first major film role, as a confused, self-loathing anti-Semite in the 2001 drama The Believer; to playing the romantic lead in Nick Cassavetes’s The Notebook (2004), the kind of movie that girls in their pajamas (and certain guys) will continue to watch over and over as long as love remains an attractive emotion for humans to experience and the earth continues to spin on its axis; to his Oscar-nominated performance as a crack-addicted middle school teacher in Half Nelson (2006); to his turn as a young man in crisis who falls in love with a sex doll in Lars and the Real Girl (2007), a film which, despite the glibness with which the premise is often articulated, is actually shot through with a remarkable and complicated degree of emotional depth. In fact, “remarkable” and “complicated” are good ways to describe Gosling’s body of work thus far. He’s already got a minimum of four seminal performances, one Oscar nomination, and one late-night girly classic under his belt.

Now, after years of avoiding Hollywood like the soul-sucking vulture that she is, Gosling might very well be in a position to save her—or, at least, make her feel alive again. He’s got three new films in the can, two of which are due out next month. The first, Andrew Jarecki’s All Good Things, is a drama inspired by the real-life case of New York City real estate heir Robert Durst, about a man whose wife mysteriously disappears—and whose dark past comes to light when he is connected to a murder nearly two decades later. The second, Derek Cianfrance’s Blue Valentine, co-stars Michelle Williams, and presents a darker, unvarnished vision of impossible love, sketching both the coming together, and the coming apart, of a relationship. As a piece of filmmaking, it’s small, intimate, and without a stitch of gloss—and Gosling and Williams deliver two of the most sensitive, powerful performances you’re likely to see this year. He also recently began work on the action-thriller Drive, about a stunt man who moonlights as a getaway-car driver. But before that film is released, Gosling will do something he has never done before: star in a comedy, Crazy, Stupid, Love, alongside Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, and his interviewer here, Steve Carell.

tom hardy

Is there any young actor more in demand than Tom Hardy right now? (NOPE) Maybe, but it sure doesn't feel like it. He got the lead role in "Mad Max: Fury Road" before he became the surprise star of "Inception," and now that that project has been delayed, he's had plenty of free time to start piling on the roles. And boy he has.

His latest potential starring vehicle is the hot new action-adventure flick "Snow White and the Huntsman," with Hardy circling to play the Huntsman while Angelina Jolie is being eyed for the role of the evil queen Ravenna. The Playlist got the scoop that Hardy is looking to fit filming of this in early next year after he wraps McG's "This Means War" and before he starts on "Batman 3," in which he's expected to play a villain.

Taylor Swift, Jake Gyllenhaal Go Apple Picking

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Saturday Night Live wasn't Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal's first outing together this past weekend.

The two were spotted Saturday at the Fishkill Farms in Hopewell Junction, N.Y, where they toured fall foliage and went apple-picking, reports the new Us Weekly (on newsstands Wednesday).

"They were walking through the trees, having fun together," says a local. "They looked happy."

Adds the witness, "Some of the customers tried to take a photo of them, but they were hiding from them in the trees. They drove through the orchard and bought the apples on the way out." (Gyllenhaal, 29, paid the $3 tab.)

It was just the first stop of a romantic Big Apple weekend, which included a trip to a SNL taping and Sunday brunch in Brooklyn's Park Slope neighborhood, as UsMagazine.com reported Monday.

Says a source, "The relationship is very new, maybe two or three weeks old. I’m not sure who pursued whom — but they’re both into it."

Amber Rose is revealing plans to star in her own television show.

As previously reported, Kanye West confirmed his breakup with the model in August and premiered his “Runaway” film over the weekend, which many speculated was based largely on their relationship. Rose obviously caught wind of the comparisons between herself and model Selita Ebanks who portrayed a Phoenix in the film, and decided to defend herself.

Taking to her Twitter page, Rose says that she'll tell her side of the story in a self produced television show. While details on the project are light, Amber says it's her “turn to talk” and thanked Ye for exposing her to a new world.

Cheryl Cole set for second solo number one

Cheryl Cole looks set to score her second solo number one single this Sunday, with Promise This likely to de-throne Bruno Mars' Just The Way You Are (Amazing) from the top of the UK charts.

Promise This (Polydor), the first single to be taken from Cole’s second solo album Messy Little Raindrops, has sold almost 70,000 copies so far this week, after Cole performed it on last Saturday’s X Factor, putting it ahead of Rihanna’s Only Girl (In The World) [Def Jam].

Mars’ Just The Way You Are (Amazing), which topped the charts for a second time on Sunday, looks likely to drop to three. New singles from Tim Berg (Seek Bromance on Ministry of Sound), Yasmin (Runaway on Island) and Peter Andre (Defender on Conehead) should also challenge for the top 20.

On the albums chart, a slew of new entries look unlikely to topple Kings of Leon’s Come Around Sundown (Columbia) from the number one slot.

It has sold another 23,000 copies so far this week to add to its 183,289 in first week of release, putting it ahead of new albums from Joe McElderry (Joe McElderry on Syco), The Wanted (The Wanted on Geffen) and Taylor Swift (Speak Now on Mercury).

New albums from Barbra Streisand, Elton John & Leon Russell, The Soldiers, Bryan Ferry and Charlotte Church should challenge for the top 20, while the debut album from the hotly-tipped Warpaint (The Fool on Rough Trade) should make the top 40.

Cheryl Cole and Rihanna to work together

Cheryl Cole has confirmed she and Rihanna will record a duet together.

"I couldn't believe it when I heard Rihanna wanted to work with me," Chezza admitted. "When I found out she wanted to collaborate, I got goose bumps all over.

"We're definitely doing something together next year. I'm totally up for it."

The hook-up came about after the Rude Boy singer said she was a fan of Cheryl’s 3 Words album and said the Geordie star was "the most beautiful woman I have ever seen".

Jon Hamm loves to let his junk swing & his lack of underwear is causing problems

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A little while ago, we had some new Jon Hamm photos, and as an after-thought, I noted that Jon Hamm’s bulge was looking particularly glorious in his jeans. This item was picked up by Gawker, who ran a “photographic investigation” into the state of The Hamm’s package. Turns out, there’s lots of Hamm Bulge photos, and there is much visual evidence to suggest that Our Beloved Hamm is well-endowed. Now we have another piece of evidence - the National Enquirer claims that The Hamm hates to wear underwear, preferring to let his large dong fly freely. God Bless America.

Another "Success" for the Music Industry: Limewire Shuts Down

The music industry lawyers just put another notch on their wall. After ten years of existence, peer-to-peer music sharing service LimeWire is joining Napster, Kazaa, and all the rest. It will abide by a court-ordered injunction today and begin to disable the file-sharing and music-searching features of its P2P software. Years of legal battles and the prospects of paying astronomical fines finally did the service in. We are putting it in the deadpool.

The company, LimeCompany, will soldier on. Transitioning to a music store or legal streaming music service, however, will be tough. It fought a good fight, and lasted longer than most other P2P services. Partly that was because there was usually a bigger P2P sharing service freaking out the music industry. Once the lawyers got rid of those, they finally got around to LimeWire. Still, it took them the better part of a decade to get LimeWire to comply with an injunction.

As far as the Internet goes, the music industry is basically organized around litigation on one side, and extracting maximum licensing fees from music startups that try to play by the rules on the other. If you want to understand exactly how difficult it is for a music startup to survive, check out this talk by Dalton Caldwell, founder of now-defunct imeem. The lawyers won, but their ships are still sinking.

Good use of money here, tbh. Now the two people still using Limewire will have to learn how to Google for their illegal music

Academy-Award winner Angelina Jolie and some hag 'keen for miner movie'

Madonna and Angelina Jolie are said to be in a "battle" over who will direct a movie about the Chilean miners.

The true story of the 33 men who were trapped underground for 69 days this summer before being saved by an innovative rescue capsule on October 13 has been hailed as one of the most remarkable events of 2010.

As soon as the miners had been rescued and reunited with their families there was a buzz in Hollywood over who would direct a movie based on the tale, and it has now been claimed A-list stars Madonna and Angelina are both interested.

"Development has already started on the film and Angelina and Madonna are both desperate to be at the helm," a source told British newspaper The Daily Star.

"This story touched viewers worldwide and the film is going to be colossal. It would establish either of them as a respected film director."

Charice wows with another sold out show in Thailand

Charice Tantalizes Twelve Thousand Thrilled Thais!

Charice surely rings a lot of bells today, as she performed along with other artists in yet another sold-out concert for the Thai installment of the David Foster and Friends Concert Tour.

Prior to the Thailand gig, Charice also performed in sold-out concerts in Tokyo and in Manila, as part of the same concert tour.

Twelve Thousand Thais instantly went nuts when Charice made a grand entrance at Bangkok's Impact Arena. She came all the way from the back, through the audience and up onto the stage - all while singing Celine Dion's "Power of Love" like it was just a piece of cake.

Kylie To Perform On DWTS And Tonight Show

Kylie Minogue’s American fans can rejoice since she’ll once again be gracing their television sets this week. The fashion forward pop queen will belt out her current Billboard dance chart topper “Get Outta My Way” on Dancing With The Stars tonight and then again on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno tomorrow. Additionally, she’s readying her third single release off Aphrodite, “Better Than Today.

Kylie debuted the Scissor Sisters-esque “Better Than Today” on stage last fall during her inaugural trek across North America. Personally, we’d have gone with either “Aprhodite” or the dark, atmospheric “Illusion” as a third single from her latest LP, but “Better Than Today” at least keeps the mood light and poppy.

Here’s the official radio edit of the song, which adds about 10 seconds onto the album version.

Cleveland Wiccans Cast Spell On LeBron James

Lest anyone forget -- LeBron James is still the most hated man in Cleveland ... as evidenced by this video of self-proclaimed "Wiccans," aka witches, casting spells on King James just in time for his Miami Heat debut.

The coven gathered this morning at 100.7 WMMS in Cleveland ... armed with a pentagram, pig and cow bones, a fake skull, and a voodoo doll to curse LeBron before tonight's Heat-Celtics matchup.

One of the evil chants -- "Tie a knot against the king. May he die without a ring."

Hey Cleveland ... isn't it time to move on? Ya still got Drew Carey.

Heidi Montag is the latest victim of Lady GaGa's sticky hands!!

Guys, I’m pretty sure that the father of linguistics, Noam Chomsky, would even agree that this is a totally never-before-uttered phrase: I want to look as classically sleek, polished, and downright glamorous as Lady Gaga does in photo of her in London yesterday.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It seems a trip to London is all it takes for the Lady Gaga's Madonna 2.0 transformation we discussed earlier last week from stage five to at LEAST stage 10. I know because I’m a Lady Gaga/Madonna-ologist. It’s very Madonna circa her Reinvention tour. And once again, check out Gaga's new blonde hair! It's a shade ACTUALLY found in nature! Lady Gaga’s follicular Heidi Montag version 3.0 moment is killing me softly. It’s clearly inspired by Barbie (which, let's be real, Heidi is as well).

I’d really like to see what kind of eye makeup Gaga has going on under those fantastic oversize black shades, and that red lip is the stuff Fashion Week runway dreams are made of.

Lady Gaga, you clean up well! Could this perfect storm of chic be the effect of your new (reported) status as a married lady? And what do you think of Gaga's true blonde look? Yay or nay? Weigh in!
Does she have self worth?? it's one thing to steal from the dead but from the alive and well is just disrespectful.

Lead singer of The Cure sings on Crystal Castles remix!

This is via pitchfork:
Yesterday we told you about a new Crystal Castles remix of their track "Not in Love" featuring none other than Robert Smith, and here it is! The Internet is a wonderful thing. Smith's voice is loud and clear on the track, which has to be one of the catchiest things Crystal Castles have ever been associated with. Listen above.

This new version of "Not in Love" is the A-side of a single due out December 6 on Fiction.

Michael Jackson's "Thriller" To Be Made Into Feature-Length Film

Hey, remember the popular Michael Jackson video for “Thriller,” where Jackson and director John Landis adequately summed up the experience of listening to “Thriller” and then provided the visual addendum of zombies and other monsters doing an elaborate choreographed dance to “Thriller”? Deadline reports that GK Films would like to take that video and extend it to feature-length as a $50 million-plus film that would explore “the song’s folklore.” For example, where did that “funk of 40,000 years” originate? What exactly is a “diller”? And so on. Also, it would have something “involving Vincent Price and the town he grew up in.” Uhh… You mean St. Louis?

Currently Jackson’s This Is It collaborator Kenny Ortega is attached to direct, with The Hangover screenwriter Jeremy Garelick handling the script; meanwhile the whole thing is tied up in an extremely expensive rights issue with the Jackson estate, but it’s expected to move forward any day now—because there’s always more money to be consumed, by grizzly ghouls from every tomb.

Silly Bandz Video Game Y'all

Zoo Games has announced a DS game based on ... some rubber bands. This December, Zoo will release Silly Bandz, the official game of those rubber bands in the shape of animals and Justin Bieber.

Silly Bandz tasks players with freeing Bandz from capture by launching other Silly Bandz at the structures in which they are trapped. Screenshots found on Amazon show an Angry Birds-esque experience: a side-scrolling game where players knock over colored block-structures and ... is that a giant magnet?

Of course, the actual game content doesn't matter at all, because it ships with a set of twelve video game-themed Silly Bandz -- and the office supplies are the real selling point here. In July, Zoo announced that this game would be released on iPhone as well (without free Bandz, of course), but that version has yet to be dated.

Lucas Neff breaks out on 'Raising Hope' and laughs a little along the way

Keeping a straight face is not an easy job for TV comedy newcomer Lucas Neff.

But it beats cleaning toilets.

Before the almost-25-year-old Chicago actor was hired to play the noble and perpetually confused Jimmy Chance on Fox's "Raising Hope," he was performing in storefront theater and occasional commercials and cleaning houses to make ends meet. Then he answered a nationwide casting call last fall and, using 10 pages from the pilot script, taped his audition for creator Greg Garcia ("My Name Is Earl"). What Neff didn't know is that he was the executive producer's first choice from that very first tape, even though the young actor still had to go through all of the audition hoops that actors endure during pilot season, Garcia told reporters during a conference call on Friday.

"I had just scrubbed my first few toilets when I got a chance to audition for this," Neff said Friday during a phone interview. "I was just one of hundreds. I went on tape for it in Chicago, and luckily for me, Greg Garcia actually watched the tape and he liked what I did and he had me fly out in October 2009. I tested, and luckily enough, got the job. I've been having the time of my life."

Taylor Momsen flashes her tits and her mom approves of it

Not only did Taylor Momsen flash her breasts during a recent gig, she did so with her mother’s blessing, it would seem.

The 17-year-old shocked the crowd at the PAPER Magazine & Express Celebrate “Rock The Sidewalk” event when she pulled down her top to expose her gaffer-taped nipples during a performance of Make Me Wanna Die.

However, one person who reportedly wasn’t shocked was Taylor’s mother Colette.

According to HollywoodLife.com, Collette was “totally fine” with her daughter’s raunchy display.

Taylor recently attracted criticism for posing in suspenders while holding a gun in each hand for the cover of a heavy metal mag.

"There are no older people making better pop records than Taylor Swift"

Rolling stone reviews "Speak Now"...Makes very bold statement:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

People like to fixate on Taylor Swift's youth, as if to say, yeah, she's pretty good for her age. But that just begs a question: Where are all the older people who are supposedly making better pop records than Taylor Swift? There aren't any. In a mere four years, the 20-year-old Nashville firecracker has put her name on three dozen or so of the smartest songs released by anyone in pop, rock or country.
