Teen Mom stars and real life couple Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley, who have recently come under fire for a violent outburst on the MTV reality show, are putting the past behind them and looking toward the future.
"They just bought each other new rings as a sign of their commitment," Gary's mother Carol Zizak told RadarOnline.com. "They're promise rings where they're promising to themselves that they're going to work on their relationship, not date anyone else, and have a future for [their daughter] Leah."

I feel bad that I haven't seen any of these.
According to sources, execs at 20th Century Fox — the studio behind Prison and Kings — have signed off on the crossover. Now a deal just needs to be hammered out with Knepper, whose killer PB alter ego was sent back to the slammer in the show’s series finale.
Kings, which is described as an “action-packed ensemble drama following an unconventional partnership between the U.S. Marshals’ office and a group of convicts as they work to catch fugitives on the run,” received an 11th hour reprieve last spring from A&E after Fox opted not to pick it up. It’s set to premiere in early 2011.ausiello
The drama is coming to the 90210. That is, according to the cast of Bravo’s new show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“Drama of course, excitement, fashion. A lot of strong women coming together and God only knows what can happen,” said Richards, an actress and aunt to Paris and Nicky Hilton.
“You can expect all that you would expect from Beverly Hills. Sophistication, glamour, style, a lot of drama and just a peek into what it’s like to really be a woman who lives in Beverly Hills,” said Armstrong, a 38-year-old management consultant. “You’re going to get plenty of drama. I think the drama in Beverly Hills is a little different than New Jersey. We have our own special style, so it’s unique. We’re six strong women that are all used to getting our way so that equals drama.”
In the days after Teen Mom star Amber Portwood was accused of dating a registered sex offender in a recent episode of the hit MTV show - RadarOnline.com was first to report that the young man featured on the program had been falsely identified as a pedophile, and now Amber's inner circle is coming to her defense.
"She would never ever [date a sex offender]!" said Carol Zizak, the mother of Gary Shirley - the father of Amber's little girl and also featured on the show. Although she had not heard the news, even if it was true, Carol said it could happen to anybody, "It's like if you meet someone on the street -- you don't know 100% who they are."
In last week's episode, Amber's date was identified only as "Chris" and several media outlets were quick to report that he was in fact Christopher Glen Hossman, 27, a registered sex offender in Madison County, Indiana. RadarOnline.com confirmed Amber's date was not in fact Hossman.
"Leah's happy, she smiles, she's god's gift to them," Carol added.
Hossman's on-again-off-again girlfriend, who only wanted to be identified as "Brenda," told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview last Friday that she watched Teen Mom, saw the episode in question, and that Amber's date was definitely not Hossman. "Brenda" also told RadarOnline.com that Hossman is now going to consult a lawyer over the case of mistaken identity.Source
Snookin' for love? Hardly.
Jersey Shore dynamo Snooki revealed that she is not getting a much-rumored reality show based on her search for a man.
"Let's clear this up kids," tweeted Snooki, "I did not get my own dating show and plus, I gotta man, I don't need anybody else."
In January of this year, Snooki revealed that she had offers from networks to pick up her own solo reality show, Snookin' for Love. However, it seems like either Snooki decided to never jump on those offers or her contract with MTV prevented her from getting her own reality show while she was still committed to Jersey Shore.source
This incredible flowchart from Overthinking It breaks down the many clichés female characters fall into. Note to writers: The "Mama Bear" and "Vanilla Action Girl" do not count as "strong female characters."
Overthinking It's Mlawski writes that the infographic is a companion to her essay on why we need interesting characters who are female, rather than more one-dimensional women who brandish a sword or mouth off to the male protagonist to prove they're no damsel in distress.
While there are obviously many male tropes in pop culture as well, Mlawski says, "Hollywood has a significantly harder time writing non-stereotypical female characters than male ones, so I made this chart to help out." It seems most writers still haven't wrapped their heads around the Bechdel Test, but hopefully they'll find this picture easier to understand.
Doctor Who star Matt Smith says he wants Florence and the Machine's Florence Welch to have a cameo role on the show.
Matt was talking ahead of the launch of the interactive Doctor Who Live show. The tour started at London's Wembley Arena but will hit nine other major cities in the UK.
The sixth series of Doctor Who will open with a two-parter set in the US.
Production starts in Cardiff this month with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan.
"I would like Florence to come and do a Doctor Who. I think she has an essence of an actress".Celebrity wish list
Matt also revealed there were more celebrities he'd like to see on the programme.
"Eric Cantona, Vincent Cassell, would be number one actually. Helen Mirren would be great. Rowan Atkinson, I'd love to be in Doctor Who. I think he'd be wonderful. I think he's just great. i think he's a fantastic actor."
But would Florence be a friend or foe of the Doctor's?
"Well, who knows. She could be a baddie, she could be a goodie. But I think it will be interesting for her to tread the boards as it were."
As for there being a second red head on set, the first being the Dr's assistant, Karen Gillan, would that be a problem for the Doctor?
"No. There's always room for two fiery reds. And no one can ever replace Miss Gillan."
Series six has been split into two blocks, with the first airing on BBC One in spring 2011 and the second block showing in autumn 2011.
(Holy age difference Batman!)
Earlier this year we told you about Justin Bieber’s newest projects like his movie and of course his book. Today we are sharing with you an excerpt that Justin published with News of the World from his so-called autobiography. Here is what he shares.
If I was at home and I wasn’t doing this, I’d wish that I was in this position. Now that I’m here, I sometimes wish I could just go back home and just chill.
When I was little, I longed for a ‘normal’ life with a ‘normal’ family. Mom worked her butt off at whatever job she could get to keep a roof over our heads. There were no luxuries but it never occurred to me that we were poor. We had each other, which was everything.
For someone who regrets some of his famous status, Justin sure is making the most of it with a movie and his book. I wonder if he will even bother to continue making music? What do you guys think about what Justin Bieber said?
(Reuters) - Director Clint Eastwood on Monday shot down rumors that Joaquin Phoenix might return to acting by portraying J. Edgar Hoover's protege and purported lover in a biopic on the controversial, first FBI director.
Eastwood told Reuters that Leonardo DiCaprio was definitely lined up to play Hoover. But Phoenix, who recently revealed his charade to quit acting and become a rap singer, was not in talks to play Clyde Tolson.
"No. I don't know where that came from...didn't he become a rapper?" Eastwood said, when asked about recent reports Phoenix was being considered for the role. Phoenix had taken on rapping in a hoax that surrounded the making of a mock documentary film called "I'm Still Here" about his supposed transition.
Oscar-winning director Eastwood did say that DiCaprio definitely wants the role of Hoover. "It's a great role for him," Eastwood said, adding that the film's makers were "in the process" of signing contracts with DiCaprio.
The Hollywood legend, who after turning 80 years-old this year, is about to release his latest directorial effort "Hereafter" that tackles mortality and possibilities of an afterlife, said his next project on Hoover would focus on many aspects of the man's complicated life.
"He was a very complex person. The homosexual aspect is just one of many. I would say that's the least of his problems. But he was also very clever, whether rightfully or wrongfully, he was very clever about keeping himself in a certain position in life, so it is an interesting study," Eastwood said.
Hoover, who died in 1972, was the first director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and he served nearly four decades at the helm of the U.S. law enforcement agency.
Following his death, Hoover fell under sharp criticism for keeping secret files on prominent citizens, politicians and celebrities, including Martin Luther King, Jr. He also became the subject of conjecture over whether he was gay and if Tolson, Associate Director of the FBI, was his lover.
Eastwood said that by growing up in the 1930s and 40s, he could capture the mythology of Hoover in pop culture at the time, which had "comic books with him on the cover with machine guns and all that."
"He is a fascinating character, and I think I am the right person to do it , not because I knew him or anything, but I did grow up with him," Eastwood said. "He was an iconic figure."
