Fringe post: promo + episode guide for those who want to get into the show

Canadian promo for 3.03 "The Plateau"

Want to get into "Fringe"? These are the episodes you need to watch.

One of the more buzzed-about, critically-acclaimed shows of the fall season has been Fringe, and as a fervent fan and proselytizer for this smart, endlessly intriguing series, I've been asked by more than one person how they could possibly dive in now without having to watch the entire first two seasons. Well, it may be easier than you think. As a show that admittedly stumbled in the beginning before truly figuring out and embracing the science fiction drama it wanted to be, you can watch just a smattering of episodes—less than half of each season—to bring yourself up to date on the fascinating mythology that currently drives the show.
So here are the episodes that I, personally, consider essential viewing in order to get up to speed.

Cameron Diaz on the set of 'Bad Teacher"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Spending the weekend tending to work obligations, Cameron Diaz was on location on the set of "Bad Teacher" in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday (October 2).

Looking a bit glum as she strolled around in between takes, the "Shrek" sweetheart donned a barely buttoned white top with charcoal trousers as she shot scene after scene before wrapping up for the day.

As for Cameron's new film, "Bad Teacher" is directed by Jake Kasdan while co-starring Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel.

Due in theaters on April 1, 2011, the synopsis via IMDB describes the movie as "a comedy centered around a foul-mouthed, junior high teacher who, after being dumped by her sugar daddy, begins to woo a colleague -- a move that pits her against a well-loved teacher."

Kelly Osbourne "Cried" After Wearing Bikini

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Kelly Osbourne is looking good these days -- and she's not afraid to show it!

"I just shot the cover of Shape Magazine, which was such an incredible experience," she told UsMagazine.com Friday at Teen Vogue's 8th Annual Young Hollywood party in L.A. "I have never worn a bikini in my life before yesterday. I never even thought of wearing one!"

Not that Osbourne has anything to hide: she famously dropped an astonishing 48 pounds after competing on Dancing With the Stars earlier this year -- and she's kept it off since!

So how did it feel for Osbourne, 25, to don a bikini for the first time?

"I cried when I saw the picture," the 112-pound reality star recalled. "Everyone that was there, we all just burst into tears. It was a thrilling experience."

Since her stint on Dancing With the Stars, Osbourne has continued to work with celeb trainer Sarah Hagaman to stay in shape.

"I just commit to half an hour a day. It doesn’t seem overwhelming and I can handle that," she told Us. "I do half an hour on the treadmill and when I feel like doing more, I'll do a few sit-ups and some weights."

Her hard work is certainly paying off. Because she's now in better shape, Osbourne says she's finally able to fit into the designer clothes she always dreamed of wearing.

"Now every designer will send me anything that I want, and I can't believe that I am in this situation," she said. "I opened up all of these zip bags last night from Marchesa -- off the runway -- and I can't believe that it fits me."

ONTD, How Was Your Weekend?

Saw Social Network -- really liked it. UNF Armie Hammer. Don't get the appeal of Andrew Garfield. Jesse Eisenberg was perfect. Timberlake - eh, nothing special. Rooney Mara (girl from the opening scene) was memorable, gives me hope for her as Lisbeth Salander. Whoa at Brenda Song going down on Andrew in the bathroom.

The IMDb Editors' Top Actresses list is based upon the overall importance and impact these women have had on the last two decades of film. Note that "Top" does not mean "Best" and we realize there are some painful omissions here but, after much wrangling, we came up with the following rankings.

20.Judi Dench

Nominated for 6 Oscars (she won for her shortest appearance, as Queen Elizabeth in Shakespeare in Love) and as "M" in the most recent iteration of the Bond series.

Pokemon Black & White Show Yakuza Who's The Boss In Japan

Nintendo and Game Freak see great success in week two of Pokemon Black and Pokemon White's existence on Japanese store shelves. The Nintendo DS game moves another 800,000 plus copies, handily fending off Sega's latest Yakuza game.

With last week's take, that puts the latest Pokemon adventure at some 3.3 million units sold. Given the stiff competition from Nintendo and Sega—Kurohyou: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinshou, which we'll call Yakuza: Black Panther, sold 174,000 copies—there's not much excitement elsewhere on the charts. Sales were slow.

'Twilight' model seeks glory

Give her a hand -- please!

Kimbra Hickey wants some recognition for her pinky-size role in the "Twilight" phenomenon.

Hers are the slender, ghostly hands cupping a red apple on the now-famous cover of the first hit book by Stephenie Meyer. But Hickey's lack of fame has her cracking her knuckles in frustration.

"It was major exposure for my hands," said the petite, 40-year-old model. "But nobody knew who I was."

So Hickey now stops anyone she sees reading the book to inform them of her contribution.

"I see people reading it on the subway, and I say, 'Those are my hands! I'm a hand model!' " she explained. "I'm sure they think I'm crazy -- a crazy lady on the subway."

Radiohead Help With Music for Ed Norton Movie

According to Variety, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood offered "tons and tons" of "sound experiments" for the score to the upcoming film Stone starring Ed Norton and Robert De Niro. (Via Consequence of Sound.)

"I'm friends with the guys in Radiohead, and Johnny Greenwood met me in London a while back," said Norton. "So given the spiritual ties in this film, I started talking to him about this idea: 'What would you use to record this divine-like tuning sound?' And he and Thom [Yorke] had been playing a lot of weird ambient stuff at the time and so, amazingly, they just unloaded tons and tons of files to us of these sound experiments that they had been doing. We just listened to them in awe until [director] John [Curran] eventually got [composer] John O'Brien to come in and see what he could make of it."

Did Rick Fox & Eliza Dushku Boo Sarah Palin at DWTS?

Dancing With the Stars' Rick Fox may not be a huge fan of Sarah Palin's politics, but he doesn't think the booing on Monday's night show was aimed towards the Alaskan mom.

"I think it was the scores," he explained at the Arcade Autumn Party at the London last night. "I'm sure not everyone in the audience sees eye to eye with Sarah's political views..."

Will 'Glee' Footballer Chord Overstreet Romance Dianna Agron?

It seemed nearly as certain as a Monday morning slushy facial: Chord Overstreet's quarterback character Sam Evans would be the one to sweep Chris Colfer's Kurt right off of his well-shod feet. Jane Lynch nearly confirmed as much last month. But then, things got...complicated. Maybe Chord wouldn't be said love interest. Maybe newly announced "Glee" cast member Darren Criss would be. Or maybe he wouldn't. It seems the search for Kurt's someone to love continues. But EW.com has a bit of scoop as to what Chord's ultimate purpose may be: potential bf to Dianna Agron's Quinn.

Word on the street, according to EW.com, is that Sam and Quinn will become an item. And you know what? I don't like it.
Sure, on the surface they're a perfect match. She's blond. He's blond. She's the head cheerleader. He's the quarterback. They're every high school movie's dream team—destined to wear the prom king and queen crowns. Except, it's so predictable. I mean, Finn (her former footballer sweetheart) is no longer into her, so who does she turn to? Finn 2.0, William McKinley's newly anointed quarterback dreamboat. Sure, it makes sense, but Quinn has such poor luck with jocks—one broke her heart while the other impregnated her. If you ask me, Quinn needs someone completely different. Maybe an artist type. Or a brain with a heart of gold. That's not to say Chord won't be a nice, great guy, but let's find someone who's interested in Quinn for more than her good looks and pom poms. Okay?

What do you think about the possibility of Chord and Dianna's characters hooking up?

6 Best Horror Remakes

Written by: Michael of Moviesonline.ca

I just went and saw Matt Reeves remake of Let Me In which has inspired me to write an editorial on what I consider to be 5 of the best horror remakes. No easy feat since there is alot of really really bad horror remakes mixed in with a few good ones. Just as a quick interlude I would like to point out what my issue with Horror remakes is. Alot of horror fans hate remakes just on principal alone of Hollywood studios ripping off our memories and trying to cash in on them. I am not in this camp. I judge a movie based on its merits and if a remake is done right it can deliver an exciting and original experience while paying homage to the original film and not completely ripping it off.

So no I don’t hate horror remakes as a whole but yes I do hate remakes that are just blatant low brow studio cash ins. Below are five remakes where the filmmakers cashed in on a horror classic but did so in a fashion that delivered not just money into their coffers but also a fantastic film experience.

Wonder Woman Reboot a Go Again—but Who Should Play the Heroine?

Wonder Woman is back in the news, and this time she's getting—the Ally McBeal treatment?!

'Tis true, Ally creator David E. Kelley is the latest Hollywood bigwig to take a stab at resurrecting the Wonder Woman franchise. But unlike those who've ventured into the abyss before him (we're looking at you, Joss Whedon), Kelley has secured a deal with Warner Bros. to bring the princess to the small screen.

Which of course begs the question, which hot young starlet should fills the heroine's red boots?

PHOTOS: TV Celebrity Stunt Casting

Since 2005 some semblance of a Wonder Woman redo has been rumored, with gals like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jessica Biel said to be in the running to play the Amazonian princess.

But that was then—and that was a movie.

TV is a different beast. And when we think of Wonder Woman popping up in our living rooms once a week, we can't help but think of young, hot Hollywood—similar to the way Smallville started the Superman journey with a boyish Clark Kent.

So for your viewing pleasure, we've compiled a list of the best W.W. candidates below, and want your feedback. Yes, some of these ladies are currently on other TV shows while others are movie stars, but we can dream, right? And if we missed one of your faves, let us know in the comments section. Who knows, maybe David E. Kelley will come to E! Online for some casting inspiration? Yeah, probably not.

Jordin Sparks Announces Fragrance: "Because Of You"

TV personality Jordin Sparks who won Season 6 of American Idol, sang the national anthem for Super Bowl 2008 as well as for the soundtrack of Walt Disney Beauty and the Beast will launch her debut fragrance this month. she says this is out of deference for her fans.

The perfume could have been called Giving Back but Because of You was probably thought to be more loving and grateful-sounding. Foremost on Sparks’ mind is the imperative to offer both a qualitative and affordable fragrance which will be priced at $9,50 the first month of its launch at Dots then go up to $14,95 on November 1, 2010,

“In this economy especially, my fans deserve a high-quality, reasonably priced scent,” …

Her own tastes go to Angel by Thierry Mugler and Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf, which seems to indicate she likes gourmand florientals.

Because of You is said to be a fruity floriental developed by Belmay Fragrances. It opens on clementine, white imperial currant and orange blossom; the heart rests on nectarine, sharry baby orchid and coral charm peony; the base notes are sheer musks, vanilla bean, Baltic amber and blond woods.

The singer promises that the perfume starts as a day fragrance then becomes a nighttime one.

The scent will be a Dots exclusive in October before being more widely distributed in mass-market channels including Target.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Revealed DLC

The zombies are heading West, to the Wild West that is. Zombies are pretty much the hottest thing in gaming right now with this week’s launch of Dead Rising 2 and new DLC for Left 4 Dead due out next week.

As promised, Rockstar Games have released a sneak peak trailer (below) for Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, the fresh DLC content for the game that brings zombies into mix.

No word on the release date for any console at the moment, but the price is fixed already at $9.99.

In Undead Nightmare John Marston returns to try to help combat a zombie plague that is sweeping the land. In the trailer it looks like even the animals have gone zombie as it ends with a very disgruntled zombie bear advancing teeth bared. The package is rumored to add fresh features for multiplayer and brand new weapons.
