Sports Night: Bored and Waiting

can i do them all?

New Entertainment Weekly Cover: Men from The Social Network

Two great covers this week — one featuring uber-entertainer Justin Timberlake, and one featuring Timberlake alongside his Social Network costars Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield. No matter which you receive, you’ll get exclusive news about both the pop star (who plays real-life entrepreneur Sean Parker) and a movie that’s already a frontrunner for a Best Picture at next year’s Academy Awards.

In a frank interview, Timberlake talks about coping with the pressures of the music industry and his choice to focus on his movie career for the time being:

EW: Are there people you work with who are telling you that you should put another record out sooner rather than later?
Timberlake: …Does a painter make a painting because he has to make it by December 21st? No, he doesn’t. It happens when it pours out of him. That’s how music is for me….
Do you think it’s dangerous to wait so long? Christina Aguilera waited four years between albums, and her fans don’t seem to care about her right now.
If you’re asking me, no. I never stop making music. I don’t know what else to tell you, except that I just don’t know [in] what capacity I want to be involved anymore.
That sounds very final.
Timberlake: No. All I’m saying is, in very simple terms, I’ll know when I know. And until I know, I don’t know.

In the meantime, Timberlake was as dedicated to making The Social Network as his costars, all of whom invested themselves deeply in their roles. Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, admits that during filming, he sometimes felt like everyone was ganging up on him. “I had the unique job on set of being the only one to defend my character,” says the 27 year-old actor. “Even though he does some things that hurt other characters, I could only view him as sympathetic. I developed a great affection for him.”

Hogwarts Finally Hooks Up the Internet

Life at Hogwarts is pretty old-fashioned. Candles and torches line the walls; servants cook the food and clean the sheets; students pack the library to read ancient, dust-covered books. Isn't it time for the magical world to leap into the 21st century? Isn't it time for Hogsmeade to install Wi-Fi? Isn't it time for Hogwarts students to get online? With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows just weeks away — and the film's marketing beginning in earnest this week — we imagined what would happen if laptops, smart phones, and social media came to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Roger Ebert gives "The Social Network" 4 star rating

The Social Network

BY ROGER EBERT / September 29, 2010

"The Social Network" is about a young man who possessed an uncanny ability to look into a system of unlimited possibilities and sense a winning move. His name is Mark Zuckerberg, he created Facebook, he became a billionaire in his early 20s, and he reminds me of the chess prodigy Bobby Fischer. There may be a touch of Asperger's syndrome in both: They possess genius but are tone-deaf in social situations. Example: It is inefficient to seek romance by using strict logic to demonstrate your intellectual arrogance.

David Fincher's film has the rare quality of being not only as smart as its brilliant hero, but in the same way. It is cocksure, impatient, cold, exciting and instinctively perceptive.

CGI vs. The Horror Film

Like almost all genres of film, horror hinges on the audiences suspension of disbelief. Often the most important job of a director is keeping our suspension of disbelief alive no matter what is happening on screen.

With the heavy use of CGI in horror films in the last 20 years, keeping this belief alive is becoming all the more difficult, as our eyes and brain are trained not to believe what is impossible. It is the directors’ responsibility to choose how best to use CGI to create the effects, or even whether to use it at all.

Sesame Street's Naughty Side

(Sept. 29) -- In the early part of the 2000s, I had the privilege of working behind the scenes on "Sesame Street" for a few seasons.

And after seeing the fervor among viewers caused by the leaked video of Katy Perry's revealing outfit during her performance of "Hot N Cold" with a way-too-happy-looking Elmo, I'd tell those offended by the clip that they should be thankful it's taken this long for the sexual innuendos on the classic children's program to surface.

Don't get me wrong. Like most grown-ups, I'm a huge fan of Sesame Street. No other children's show on television ever came close to the Muppets' brand of mixing humor and learning.

But the fact is that adult themes have bubbled in and around the show ever since it first aired back in November 1969.

She's No Longer Whispering To Ghosts - Only Rapists

Jennifer Love Hewitt Guested On Last Night's 'Law and Order SVU' And Was Actually Good

Jennifer Love Hewitt says playing a repeat rape victim on Law and Order: SVU has changed her as an actress.

“I don’t think I will ever act the same way,” Hewitt said. “It was like something in my heart and my soul just connected on a different level. It was extraordinary.

“I felt really honoured that they thought I could tackle a subject matter like this and a character like this.”

The episode, titled Behave, airs Tuesday, Sept. 28 on CTV, and Wednesday, Sept. 29 on NBC.

On a much lighter note, Hewitt said her physical appearance in the episode was a bit of a shock whenever she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.

“I was like, ‘Gosh, I don’t know who that actress is at all,’ ” Hewitt said. “But it really allowed me emotionally and physically and mentally to go to a different place.”

I usually think she is a joke, but she was really good last night. This ep got me so worked up.

To the extent that it is possible for a genial and widely lauded comedy like “Modern Family” to get itself into trouble (at least in a way that doesn’t involve hyping the Apple iPad), that ABC series caused a minor stir in the spring: After an episode in which Claire and Phil Dunphy, a married couple played by Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell were shown kissing, while Mitchell Pritchett and Cam Tucker, a gay couple played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, were hugging, some fans of “Modern Family” complained that the show would not allow its gay characters to kiss, going so far as to start a Facebook campaign demanding such a scene. The “Modern Family” producers countered that an episode involving a kiss between Cam and Mitchell was already in the works.

Though that episode, which was shown on Wednesday night, bore the portentous title of “The Kiss,” what made it so remarkable was how incidental the meeting of Mitchell and Cam’s lips was to the story. Had this been, say, an episode of “All in the Family,” the kiss would have arrived in the middle of the show, bookended by 20 minutes of debate between Archie and Meathead. On “Modern Family,” it was just one moment in a larger narrative about how the inability of Mitchell’s curmudgeonly father, Jay (Ed O’Neill), to show his affection to his children may have rubbed off on them, and how much a kiss can mean, regardless of who’s sharing it. When Cam and Mitchell had their moment, it was a blink-and-you-missed-it peck in the corner of the screen, unassuming and unobtrusive, as some people genuinely prefer their intimacy to be.

tbh I thought it was a weird episode, and I completely missed the Cam/Mitchell kiss

Britney Spears Arrives to Court

'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo': Christopher Plummer to play Henrik Vanger

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Christopher Plummer has joined the cast of David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The mighty acting veteran (oh, Captain my Captain von Trapp!) will play Henrik Vanger, the ailing tycoon who hires Daniel Craig’s Mikael Blomkvist to solve the mystery of his niece’s disappearance.

Plummer seems like ideal casting to me. He’s got just the imposing presence to portray the patriarch of a family with dark secrets — and the silver beard will fit right into the icy Swedish landscape. Much as the words “American remake” usually make me want to run for the hills (that are alive! with the sound of music!), I have to say that so far, I’ve been pretty impressed with the casting on this particular American remake. Robin Wright is playing Erika Berger (Mikael’s colleague and lover) while Sweden’s own Stellan Skarsgaard is portraying Henrik’s nephew, Martin Vanger. The Social Network‘s Rooney Mara, of course, landed the much sought-after role of Lisbeth Salander. That’s a fantastic cast. Here’s hoping the rest will be as impressive.

What do you think of Plummer as Henrik Vanger?

Gagaloo performs at a nyc bar looking a bit like Ke$ha...

And the Lady's done it again. Gaga chose a bizarre dress made entirely of hair for a performance in a New York bar last night.

We were wondering how she'd follow up that headline-grabbing meat dress that she donned to the MTV VMAs, and the answer? In a very scary, hairy fashion.

The songstress hit The Oak Room at the Plaza Hotel last night for an intimate performance, and wowed onlookers with her latest sartorial statement.

With her modesty barely covered, Gaga teamed her hair dress with fishnet tights, her favourite Alexander McQueen Armadillo heels and layers of sparkling necklaces.

Paris Hilton and her boyfriend involved in hit and run

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Do these two go looking for trouble?

Paris Hilton's latest boytoy, Cy Waits, was cited for a hit and run last night for clipping paparazzo with his Bentley as the dynamic duo beat a hasty retreat from a club.

The couple were leaving the West Hollywood restaurant Boa, with Cy behind the wheel and Paris riding shotgun, when the car was suddenly swarmed by paparazzi.

Cy accelerated through the crowd, knocking one of the shutterbugs down. The couple drove away without assessing the damage.

The dinged photog dialed 911. Paramedics came and took her to a local hospital.
A Paris-free Cy returned afterward to deal with the cops. He was allowed to leave, but only after being cited for a hit and run.

Paris, meanwhile, is putting the blame squarely on the photographers. "Lovely evening with friends and family ruined by aggressive paparazzi," she tweeted after the incident. "They are literally insane!"

Earlier this month, the fun couple were busted while cruising the Vegas Strip. Paris copped to cocaine-possession charges and was sentenced to probation and community service, and Waits lost his job as manager of a local club.

Oscars Likely to Be Even Whiter Than Usual

So if Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls doesn’t turn out to be the Oscar contender its release date [Nov. 5] suggests it could be, this year’s Academy Awards are going to be extremely white. The Hollywood Reporter points out that for the first time in ten years, it’s looking like African-Americans could be entirely excluded from the four major acting categories, and you only need to check out our Oscar Futures for confirmation. As opposed to last year, the year of Precious, this year's front-runners — Natalie Portman, Colin Firth — are white; their closest competition — Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman, Robert Duvall — is white; and there are almost no films, other than For Colored Girls, on the horizon that seem likely to change this.

If For Colored Girls does get recognized, it’s likely the cast, which includes Kerry Washington, Whoopi Goldberg, and Thandie Newton, would be nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category — in recent years, the Oscars most reliably diverse category. (Since 2005, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Hudson, Ruby Dee, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Monique, and Rinko Kikuchi have all been nominees.) And of course, should one of the For Colored Girls cast members be nominated, the Academy Awards will still be very, very white — maybe just not very, very, very white. Baby steps?

Michael Lohan: Lindsay Shouldn't Be at Betty Ford

They may not have the best father/daughter relationship, but Michael Lohan is nonetheless showing a fair amount of concern for his daughter.

Opening up to Us magazine, Papa Lohan admits he’s worried that Lindsay will not beat her drug habit if she continues treatment at the Betty Ford Center.

"Look at the 'short' list of people who went to Betty Ford -- most, if not all, have relapsed," he told the mag. "I went there myself, and I will tell you, Betty Ford is a country club. They administer prescription meds and even put their patients on prescription meds. Once more, they don't have family therapy at all."

The Rancho Mirage, California facility has treated several celebrities – including the late Anna Nicole Smith.

Instead, the “Mean Girls” father believes family therapy is the key to his daughter's recovery. "The root of her problems is her family," he says. "This will not work -- mark my words!"

Montag filed for divorce from Pratt, 27, in July, but after spending time together in Costa Rica – and after Pratt publicly apologized to his wife – Montag, 23, has decided take her hubby back.

"We are back together trying to make things work," the couple tell PEOPLE exclusively. "Costa Rica really put things in perspective. We do love each other and realized we do want to spend the rest of our lives together."

Montag has instructed her attorney, Jodeane Farrell, to file a dismissal of her dissolution action, the lawyer tells PEOPLE.

"After spending time together over these past several months Heidi and Spencer have decided to reconcile," says Farrell. "The papers are on their way to court to be filed."

The couple, who were spotted smooching earlier this month, will return to their status before the court filing, as husband and wife.

Earlier this year, U2 had to postpone their North American stadium tour after Bono suffered a back injury. Interpol, who'd been booked to open some of the shows, had to scrap an entire tour that they'd built around those dates.

But now the U2 shows are back on for next year, and the band just announced the opening acts on their website. Interpol will open some of the shows, and so will the increasingly huge art-poppers Florence and the Machine. Micheal Urie joins the "It Gets Better" project.

Micheal Urie joins the wonderful, Dan Savage "It Gets Better" project.

Every tortured adolescent needs to hear the message that no matter how bad things might be, things will improve after high school. And that goes double — perhaps triple — for gay teenagers, who, depending on their circumstances, may be dealing with social isolation, depression and bullying perhaps to the point of violence. So, that’s what activist/columnist Dan Savage and the other contributors to the “It Gets Better” project are doing, one YouTube video at a time.

Savage was inspired to create the project after hearing about the story of Billy s, a gay Indiana teenager who committed suicide after being taunting by his classmates. In his Sept. 22 column, Savage writes that “I wish I could have told Billy that it gets better. I wish I could have told him that, however bad things were, however isolated and alone he was, it gets better.”

“Why are we waiting for permission to talk to these kids? We have the ability to talk directly to them right now,” Savage continues. To do just that, Savage created the It Gets Better channel, which directly solicits contributions from anyone with a YouTube account who wants to share their experiences.

"Everything old is new again" is particularly applicable to popular music. However, that's not always a bad thing: Sometimes, a young upstart strikes you as the second coming of an iconic artist. And while it may seem clichéd to compare artists within gender lines, there's no denying that some of today's hottest female performers owe a great debt to their rock 'n' roll foremothers. The following 10 pairs prove that in the world of women in rock, history keeps repeating.

Janis Joplin / Amy Winehouse

Janis Joplin: 1960s Substance-Abusing Bluesy Belter
Amy Winehouse: Current-Day Substance-Abusing Neo-Soul Stylist

How History Repeats Itself: There's something particularly compelling about the character of a trainwreck savant – with genius comes madness? – so it's not all that surprising that both Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse have become the objects of intense cultural fascination. Thanks to some well-publicized struggles with drug addiction, each woman represents the cautionary "Just say no, kids" tale of her time. That's not where the parallels between these two powerhouse performers stop: Both are possessed of raw, impossibly soulful voices that leave you flabbergasted at the thought that such a guttural, emotive instrument could emanate from a scrawny white chick. And it must be noted that for both Winehouse and Joplin, hair is a mode of communication: The outsize, untamed tangle atop their heads connotes the irrepressible wild streak in their hearts. (Joplin even flirted with a stylized beehive 'do in the mid-'60s.)

MTV Canada under fire - CRTC cites violation with programming mandate

TORONTO -- MTV Canada has received a slap upside the head from the country's TV watchdog over "Jersey Shore," a Canadian cable ratings juggernaut.
Seems the CRTC, which polices the Canadian airwaves, wants to know what The Situation, Snooki, JWoww, Pauly D, Sammi and Hungadunga, not to mention other U.S.-originated MTV shows, have to do with MTV Canada's original programming mandate to operate an all-talk format.

"After a review of your broadcast schedule, it would appear that several of your programs are not consistent with your nature of service, such as 'Jersey Shore,' 'Cribs,' 'Downtown Girls' and 'Teen Mom,' " the regulator told MTV Canada-parent CTVglobemedia in an July 27, 2010 letter that requested clarification of the channel's programming strategies.

What may also have caught the CRTC's eye is "Jersey Shore" is a ratings phenomenon on Canadian TV, and this summer closed in on "The Hills" as the best-ever performing reality show on cable TV north of the border.

Representatives at CTVglobemedia offered no comment Friday on the CRTC intervention, and added their response to the regulatory query will be made public before the end of the year.

Florence (and the Machine) Discusses Haunted Dresses & Living with her Parents

Nicole Pajer

Florence and the Machine has landed on the shores of the US, touched down on American soil, and exploded into the scene more robustly than the illegal firecrackers sold on the side of the road in the state of Indiana.  The UK-based band sizzled at the VMA’s, racking up nominations for 4 MTV Video Music Awards, picking up the award for Best Art Direction for the “Dog Days are Over” video, and topping off the evening with a triumphant performance that served as a powerful announcement of their arrival to the United States music scene.  Lead vocalist, Florence Welch is an icon in her hometown, but still resides with her parents.  She has a voice and a style that is distinguishably hers and wears a gown that she considers haunted.  With the upcoming shows selling out, everyone wants a piece of “Flo.”  I was lucky enough to nab the songstress to discuss some very important topics such as how she considers subjects like subatomic particles to be perfect inspiration for songwriting.

Super-loud TV commercials one step closer to extinction

By Jacqui Cheng

The Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM — get it?) Act has now passed the Senate. Having already been approved by the House of Representatives, the bill now bounces back to the House for one more vote before heading to the president's desk for his signature.

The bill itself is pretty to the point. The CALM Act asks the FCC to come up with regulations so that ads can't be excessively noisy or strident, can't be presented at substantially higher than the program material they are accompanying, and the average maximum loudness cannot be substantially higher than the average maximum loudness of the program they're accompanying.

The FCC already has an informational page on "Program Background Noise and Loud Commercials," which mostly tries to channel viewer wrath towards the TV networks rather than the FCC, but that will likely change soon. The bill was first introduced by Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) in 2009 and has slowly made its way through the House and Senate.

"It's about time we turned down the volume on loud commercials that try to startle TV watchers into paying attention. This is a simple step that will keep ads at the same decibel level as the programs they are interrupting," said Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), sponsor of the Senate version of the bill. "TV viewers should be able to watch their favorite programs without fear of losing their hearing when the show goes to a commercial."

Ellen DeGeneres 'Devastated' over Rutgers Student Suicide

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
The talk show host says the time for talk is over.

Ellen DeGeneres reacted strongly Thursday to the news of the Rutgers University student who committed suicide after a roommate allegedly videotaped him having sex with another male.

"I am devastated over the death of 18-year-old Tyler Clementi," the openly gay talk show host says. "He was outed as being gay on the Internet and he killed himself. ... One life lost in this senseless way is tragic."

Noting the three other deaths that have been reported with gay teens this month, DeGeneres says, "Something must be done."

"This needs to be a wake up call to everyone that teenage bullying and teasing is an epidemic in this country, and the death rate is climbing," she adds. "We have an obligation to change this."

Prosecutors have not yet determined if, in fact, this case is being considered a hate crime. Two other teens have been arrested for investigation of invasion of privacy. The tape was allegedly intended to be streamed on the Internet.

"The on-going investigation is considering the motives leading to the illegal Internet transmission of a personal encounter involving the victim," the Middlesex County, N.J., Prosecutor's Office says in a statement. "We will be making every effort to assess whether bias played a role in the incident, and, if so, we will bring appropriate charges."

Meet Seth Green's "Truman"

The argument regarding predetermined fate versus free will may never be settled, but starting Oct. 6, at least one 25-year-old guy will know who’s calling the shots. ControlTV, the new online reality series from Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, stars a former IT recruiter named Tristan Couvares (pictured, left). Like most reality shows, Tristan will be constantly followed around Los Angeles by cameras, and like the voyeuristic experiment If I Can Dream, it’ll all be streamed live on the show’s official site. But with ControlTV, there’s one key difference: You get to decide what Tristan does.

'Catch Me If You Can' books a theatre! (leaving a certain musical out of 'love')

Catch Me If You Can Books Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre

Catch Me If You Can, the new Broadway musical from the hit-makers behind Hairspray, will play the Neil Simon Theatre beginning March 7, 2011, its producers announced.

Producers previously announced that Catch Me If You Can would play a Nederlander house, leading theatre insiders to speculate whether it would book the Neil Simon (where Hairspray played a seven-year run). The new musical, directed by Jack O'Brien and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, will officially open April 10, 2011.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom sequel, Love Never Dies, was previously announced to play the Neil Simon. O'Brien and Mitchell were also previously announced to stage the Broadway production of Love Never Dies, which is currently running in London. There have been reports that O'Brien and Mitchell have withdrawn from the project.  ***

Hairspray songwriters Shaiman and Wittman penned the score to Catch Me If You Can, based on the DreamWorks film of the same name (and the autobiography by Frank Abagnale Jr. and Stan Redding). Margo Lion and Hal Luftig are lead producers of the Broadway show.

*** Mr. Sheffield has this to contribute (speaking on behalf of his dislike towards a certain sequel, and a certain theatre tycoon):

Will Tom Cruise, Will smith Glorify Rodeo Animal Abuse

Rodeos are not only cruel to animals; but cruel to the world as a whole!

"The humans are trying to be stars, while the animals are just trying to survive."  I'm very glad that these videos are posted. The public needs to know about the cruelty going on behind all the glamor and fame.

I hope he doesn't take the role.

Cruise, Witherspoon Circle 'Paper Wings'

Oh "Crazy Heart," what have ye wrought?

On the spurs of Jeff Bridges' Oscar glory, Tom Cruise and Reese Witherspoon are eyeing lead roles in the rodeo-themed love story "Paper Wings," according to the L.A. Times.

Cruise would play a rodeo champ who falls head-over-cowboy-boots for an up-and-coming country singer. The 34-year-old Witherspoon strikes me as a bit old to be up-and-coming, not to mention her career effectively peaked with her Oscar win for playing a similar role in "Walk the Line," but it's possible a pairing with Cruise could be just the career boost she needs.

Speaking of careers in need of boosting, let's talk Cruise. I truly believe the three-time Oscar nominee ("Born on the Fourth of July," "Jerry Maguire," "Magnolia") is one of the best actors working today, and because of his movie-star good looks and knack for creating kooky controversy, he doesn't get the full credit he deserves.

Having now gushed over the actor, however, I must confess that I just can't picture him as the rodeo cowboy type, nor do I really want to see him buck around on a bull at nearly 48 years old. I probably felt similarly cynical when it was announced Cruise would play "The Last Samurai," and I wound up enjoying that movie for the most part.

So while this part may not be an ideal fit for the actor, there's no doubt in my mind that Cruise will deliver the goods with the same conviction he always has.

Will Smith's company Overbrook will produce the picture, so it comes as no surprise to learn that Gabriele Muccino ("The Pursuit of Happyness," "Seven Pounds") is in the mix to direct along with several other filmmakers.

Meryl Streep and some bitch to star in 'August: Osage County' movie

In a power pairing, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are in talks to star for The Weinstein Company in the bigscreen adaptation of the Tracy Letts' Pulitzer and Tony-winning play August: Osage County. John Wells will direct the film from a script written by the playwright. Production will start by next summer.

Streep will play Violet, the drug-addicted matriarch of the working class Weston clan. Roberts will play Barbara Fordham, the oldest daughter in the family. While mom's problems and her penchant for revealing family secrets is a big issue, Barbara is melting because her husband is cheating with a college student. They are brought together when Violet's husband goes missing and all three of their daughters come home to rally around mom. In the process, a lot of family secrets get revealed.

The film has been developed for several years by Harvey Weinstein, who was involved in the original stage production with Jean Doumanian. They will produce the film together. They brought it to Wells, who started a relationship with Weinstein when TWC acquired his feature directing debut, The Company Men. The corporate downsizing drama stars Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Chris Cooper and Maria Bello and TWC releases it October 22.

The darkly comic play won the Pulitzer Prize for for Drama in 2007 and the Tony Award in 2008.

It is the latest in a surge of activity for TWC, which is suddenly very busy not only with acquisitions but homegrown fare. TWC came out of Toronto acquiring three films--Sarah's Key, Submarine and Dirty Girl--and also showed the Oscar-bait films The King's Speech and Blue Valentine there. TWC is about to start production on I Don't Know How She Does It, with Sarah Jessica Parker starring and Doug McGrath directing, and just wrapped the Hugh Jackman-starrer Butter.

TWC would not comment on the star pairing of August: Osage County, but I hear Roberts and Streep have agreed and they are now working out deals and locking a production start.

- Moving to New York at 17. Going to Juilliard, moving out of the dorms after 2 years. Living with a hoarder.
- Getting the role of Callie Torres. What's going to happen this season on Grey's.

Beautiful, Gorgeous, Flawless, Talented, Great Speller Keke Palmer to Star in Marvel's 'Runaways?'

Actress Keke Palmer (Nickelodeon's "True Jackson, VP," "Akeelah and the Bee") recently revealed to that she has been offered a role in the upcoming film adaptation of Marvel Comics' "Runaways." Here's an excerpt from the interview. "True Jackson VP" is a hit, what's next for you acting-wise? Are you planning to branch out into more movies?
PALMER: Definitely, after "True Jackson VP." We'll find out if we're doing a third season in January. The show had me tied up so much that I haven't been able to do much of anything else. But before the show I did a lot of films, so I'm familiar with it. But I'm ready to go back. I've had a nice little break with the steady TV show but I'm definitely ready to do some more films again. I was just asked to join a new Marvel comic project called, "Runaways."

Palmer didn't specify which role she was offered, but it should be interesting to note that there is not an African-American female member in the team's original line-up. If the film is indeed casting roles colorblind, then she definitely wouldn't be up for the role of the team's leader, Nico. The project faced criticism after the lack of racial specifics in the casting notices led many to believe the movie's main character was being "white-washed." Marvel Studios has since changed the notice for Nico to reflect the character's Asian ethnicity in the comics.

Naomi Watts Considering Helping Dakota Fanning Through Cancer

Jenny Downham's novel Before I Die sounds like an intense but, from the description in the New York Times review, worthwhile experience. It's a novel narrated by a 16-year-old girl dying of leukemia, describing her every experience and emotion and pain as she slowly makes her way toward a death she knows is coming. Yeah, I know. Not only does it sound like a challenging book but pretty much an impossible movie, and yet director Ol Parker is giving an adaptation a shot, with Dakota Fanning in the lead role.

‘Playboy’ Photog Says Jenny Mccarthy’s Vajayjay ‘Looks Like Roadkill’

Jenny McCarthy is giving some good TMI deets in her new autobiography Love, Lust & Faking it: The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies and True Romance. The 37-year-old former Playmate and former MTV queen says that although she’s honest, she did hold back on the intimate details of her recent split from beau of five years, Jim Carrey. “If he wasn’t famous, he’d be splattered all over this book,” she told Oprah in a recent chat. “I’m always honest about everything. I just have to respect his privacy.”

And the greatest revelation in the book is on how a Playboy photographer compared her taco to roadkill! Hmm…but what kind of roadkill? I envision a pancake-flat hairy skunk that has its guts split open.

About That Rachel Zoe and Brad Goreski Split ...

Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe and her dapper assistant Brad Goreski have officially split up and are now saying that there was zero drama behind their decision, however sources tell me that's bananas! This split was ugly for sure.

"Brad was sick of doing all the work while Rachel got all the credit," a fashion insider tells me. "While Rachel feels used by Brad. She feels as if she taught him everything and the second he got a chance to leave her high and dry he did."

That's a far cry from the official line coming from the pair. "He did this with such class and elegance," Rachel told PEOPLE, while Brad said "I hope she'll continue to teach me more and more."

Rumors that the fashion power pair were in trouble started circulating a few weeks during New York fashion week where Brad seemed to be welcomed more than Rachel.

New Soda Offers Alternative Way To "Smoke" Weed

Thirsty? Why not open an ice-cold bottle of pot-infused root beer?

A new line of pot-infused beverages masquerading behind soda flavors are now available to patients with a prescription for medical marijuana. Made by Colorado-based Dixie Elixirs, the carbonated drinks are marketed to medicinal-marijuana patients who wish to avoid “weed culture” stigmas.

The organic drinks come in eight different flavors (including root beer, pink lemonade or grape) and serve as alternatives to smoking cannabis, which is legal for medical use by prescription in 14 states and used as an alternative to pain killers. (Who knows? Maybe Ms. Norbury's marijuana tablets aren't so out of the question after all.)

No word yet on how much a case of drinkable marijuana will cost, but we have a feeling it may run a little higher than anything Pepsi is pushing.

Salahis Threaten to Sue 'Real Housewives of D.C.'

Tareq and Michaele Salahi have lawyered up with Lisa Bloom, who fired off an email to the cast of the show, telling them there has been an exhaustive investigative study of the famous White House dinner. The conclusion: "The Salahis did not 'crash' the White House dinner, nor the Black Caucus dinner."

Bloom goes on to say, "It is simply a false statement of fact, and defamatory, to call the Salahis 'party crashers,' as it suggests they have committed crimes."

Bloom then threatens legal actions if the girls dare use the words.

Wonky Eye Comes Back to TV.

Paris Hilton has convinced another TV network to give her her own reality show.

Anyway, this time around she’s looking to show her serious side, okay? She’s, like, totally deep, and, like, totally misunderstood.

The untitled-future-Emmy-winning-reality-show will air on Oxygen (suckers!) and will be about her life and her “work”.

The show will feature Hilton’s interactions with friends and family. One of the friends that will make an appearance, is the alleged-cocaine-addict Brooke Mueller (soon to be ex-wife of Charlie Sheen), which makes complete sense. Now we know what kind of “work” she’s she’s talking about! Maybe it was Brooke’s purse that contained the cocaine when Paris was busted!

Hey, as I type, I’m starting to get excited about this show. I take it back, it could be pure genius.
