Wearing an almost ballerina-like pink and black ensemble, Lindsay joined two male friends for a late dinner at the chic and trendy Magnolia restaurant. They were smiling and laughing, without a hint of the serious situation Lindsay is in.
Just before going to dinner, Lindsay Tweeted about the failed test, which is believed to be for cocaine use. She wrote that "substance abuse is a disease" that she battles daily. Lindsay also seemed to be throwing herself on the mercy of Judge Elden Fox, who had told Lindsay that any "dirty" drug test would send her back to jail for 30 days.
RadarOnline.com has learned that the troubled starlet will be back before Judge Fox for a probation violation hearing as early as next week.

We are only three sleeps nights away from the biggest night in Canadian music.
That’s right, on Monday night the winner of the 2010 Polaris Prize will be announced! Did you seriously just ask yourself what the Polaris Prize is? How many times am I going to have to explain it? Essentially, it is the coolest prize in Canadian music. Over the best summer, the year’s albums have been widdled down to only ten. Of those ten albums, one of them will win $20,000 to continue their path to making great music. Make sense?
This year’s short list includes:
* The Besnard Lakes, The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night
* Broken Social Scene, Forgiveness Rock Record
* Caribou, Swim
* Karkwa, Les chemins de verre
* Dan Mangan, Nice, Nice, Very Nice (!!!)
* Owen Pallett, Heartland
* Radio Radio, Belmundo Regal
* The Sadies, Darker Circles
* Shad, TSOL
* Tegan and Sara, Sainthood
I’m too nervous to say who I think is going to win. But if I had to choose, I would say Dan Mangan, (but I have ulterior motives.) And yes, I’m still annoyed that Owen Pallett and Caribou are on the short list, since they’ve already won the prize before. And since it is only a few years old, they really should share the wealth. Literally.
Jann Arden has made the bold move of announcing her favourites: “Melodically and lyrically Tegan and Sara hit the mark with every one of these songs. The songs are edgy without losing their pop sensibility.”
So who do you think is going to win? Never heard of any of the artists? Don’t worry, that’s sorta the point. Head on over to the Polaris site and listen to all the nominees. You’ll be disappointed that you haven’t been enjoying them all year!
"Robert wanted me to be American the entire time so whenever he was around I was. But as soon as he walked off set I was back being myself, which will probably make the accent terrible and everyone will pick holes in it. But I can't do it all the time - you would kinda go mad. When the camera stops running I need to take stuff back."
Russell Brand has been arrested following an altercation with a photographer, police in Los Angeles have said.
The 35-year-old comedian was taken into custody at Los Angeles international airport for a misdemeanour charge of simple battery. Brand was released from LAPD's Pacific Division after posting $20,000 (£12,800) bail.

Doing his best to elude being spotted, an undercover Zac Efron was spotted arriving at Sydney International Airport in Sydney, Australia on Saturday (September 18).
Wearing a grey hooded sweater, shade, beige slacks and white sneakers, the "17 Again" stud strolled out to an awaiting ride after making the flight from London.

A little over one year after the release of the remastered Beatles albums, John Lennon's solo catalog is receiving a major overhaul. Timed to coincide with Lennon's 70th birthday (almost to the day), fans will have the opportunity to reassess his all-too-brief body of work. The reissue campaign, dubbed "Gimme Some Truth" after Lennon's 1971 song, encompasses eight remastered albums and four different compilations. Each release will be available on CD or downloadable from all major digital service providers.
The compilations are designed to give an option to every budget level. Power To the People: The Hits is aimed at the casual or entry-level fan, containing 15 hits (and some misses). The same compilation will be available as a CD/DVD set with the subtitle Experience Edition. The DVD will contain a video for every track found on the CD. For those seeking a meatier collection, there's the four-CD set Gimme Some Truth. This 72-track collection provides a well rounded view of John Lennon as a solo artist.

Long hair or short hair?
Take "Eat, Pray, Love" for example. To many people, the trailer's use of "Dog Days Are Over" served as their Machine introduction. But by summer's end, the song was not only one of the most omnipresent but also one of the most adored thanks in no small part to Florence Welch's infectious vocals and the band's undeniably original sound.
Although Florence + The Machine has churned out an incredibly loyal fanbase since debuting in July 2009, I think it's safe to say that they picked up a couple million more following their showstopping VMA performance on Sunday [watch]. But exposure seems to be the only necessary requirement for turning the ignorant into tub thumping believers.
