Katherine Jackson Sues AEG Over Michael's Death

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson's children are suing AEG Live -- claiming the company breached its agreement to provide physical care for Michael Jackson -- and that AEG was negligent in their hiring of Dr. Conrad Murray as MJ's physician.

In the suit, Katherine claims AEG's contract with Michael "created a legal duty for AEG to act reasonably toward the physical well-being of Michael Jackson."

In the document, Katherine also blames AEG for hiring Dr. Murray without a proper background check -- claiming, "AEG did not provide a doctor who was truly looking out for Jackson's well-being and did not provide equipment."

The suit also alleges AEG caused emotional distress to Michael's son Prince because he witnessed Michael suffering and dying, and "he was put in a position as bystander to these tragic events."

Kenny Ortega, who produced the planned London concerts for Michael, is also named as a defendant.

The attorney who filed the suit, Brian J. Panish, released a statement saying, "The purpose of this lawsuit is to prove to the world the truth about what happened to Michael Jackson, once and for all."

The Original Squints Talks About Why She Cheated on Her Husband

LeAnn Rimes covers the new Shape magazine in a bikini and in the interview she talks about cheating on ex-husband Dean Sheremet, exercising with new boyfriend Eddie Cibrian and how her body has changed over the years.

On how exercise helped her through the affair:
Going to the gym and punching out some of my aggression on a pair of mitts has been a lifesaver. Sometimes I felt so depressed I didn't want to get out of bed, so just getting to the gym--even for a few minutes--was a big accomplishment. It really did make me feel better and kind of saved me. It gave me a bit of sanity.

On her reasons for cheating:
My relationship with Dean was great, but ultimately it wasn't a fulfilling marriage for either of us. We got married so young: I was 19 and he was 21, so as we got older, we grew apart. I understand why people are disappointed in me,
especially since I grew up as America's sweetheart
. I think any relationship is hard to get out of, and I don't think the way I did it was right. I truly believe there are lessons in it for me to learn. Cultivating strength from rough situations is the most important thing. After going through this, I know I can face anything.

On her bikini body:
I feel like my body is changing and that I'm growing up into a woman. I probably weigh about 6 pounds more than when I shot that cover, but my body fat is the lowest it's ever been. I've gained a lot of muscle, and I feel like I have more curves too. My butt--well, I've always had a butt--but now I definitely have a butt, which I love. I've taken up weight training three or four times a week, and I do a lot of squats. I've also been doing more cardio, even though I absolutely despise it. I try to get in a good 20 to 25 minutes before I do anything else; if I don't do it first, it won't happen.

Red Band Trailer For 'Hatchet II'

The sequel to 'Hatchet' comes to theaters uncut and unrated on October 1 in AMC theaters (click here to see if it is playing in your city) from Dark Sky Films.

Movies with anything other than an MPAA rating of G, PG, PG-13, or R were automatically turned down by most of the nation’s major theater chains. It’s why the NC-17 rating has for so long, been considered the kiss of death for any filmmaker hoping to show his movie to a wider audience. Major chains won’t show NC-17 movies, and while you could release the movie without a rating, that doesn’t help because in the past they wouldn’t show those either. Until October 1st that is.

'American Idol' Allows Online Auditions For First Time

It's hard to believe that a new season of "American Idol" is just around the corner, but it's even harder to believe that the reality-TV ratings juggernaut has been around for a decade. To celebrate the 10-year milestone, it was announced Wednesday (September 15) that, for the first time, "Idol" hopefuls can submit online audition videos to MySpace.

From now through October 6, aspiring Kelly Clarksons and Chris Daughtrys between the ages of 15 and 28 (as of July 15, 2010) have the opportunity to submit an audition video. According to a news release from the network, entrants must demonstrate their "stellar singing ability by performing one of the songs from the approved list a cappella. Videos are limited to 40 seconds in length, and are limited to one submission per person. Auditions will be judged in a similar fashion to the live audition cities and a select number will advance to the next round of callbacks in Los Angeles."

The song list includes Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," Keith Urban's "Kiss a Girl" and Barry Manilow's "Copacabana," to name a few. Fans will be able to share the videos across various networks and watch highlights in a special gallery on the MySpace page.

This "American Idol" offseason has been a hectic one. Aside from Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi being out as judges, the show also dropped its age limit to 15 to make sure it doesn't miss out on a potential Justin Bieber.

Now if they would just announce who will be on the judges' panel next season ...

I've never really watched this show but... I can't imagine it without Simon's snark.

Bravo Has Had It With Michaele and Tareq Salahi

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Michaele and Tareq Salahi's fifteen minutes of fame may be up now that I've learned the publicly annoyed Bravo has decided not to invite the White House party crashers back to tape another season of 'The Real Housewives Of DC.'

"The DC show is the only show in the entire franchise that isn't a true hit," an insider tells me. "And the Salahi's are the biggest reason for that. At first, execs thought they struck gold with all the attention the couple got over the White House dinner. But now they realize not all press is good press and this couple's involvement in the show has turned more viewers off than on."

Sources tell me it isn't only the couple's behavior on camera that has upset Bravo executives as much as their behavior off camera. First the Salahi's refuse to show up for the launch party then they have the nerve to throw their own competing party and ask guests to pay to attend.

But the final straw came to light just this week, when the couple claimed (in a new book about them) that their "iron-clad" contract with Bravo doesn't allow them to talk about the White House-crashing incident to the media. Of course, they've never been shy about talking up the scandal (except for when Tareq clammed up at a Congressional hearing!) and famously spoke to Matt Lauer about it just days after the State Dinner.

This angered Bravo so greatly that they released this statement to PopEater: "Bravo [has] consistently and repeatedly stated to the Salahis and their representatives that they were free to speak to press, law enforcement, Congress and anyone else about attending the State Dinner. Indeed, they have given multiple press interviews on that very subject."

Boom! It was a stinging rebuke of their own employees and a sure sign the network is wiping their hands of them. Other members of the Bravo family agree.

"At this point they are an embarrassment to the 'Housewife' franchise," one fellow Bravo housewife tells me. "They are a loose cannon. Now Michaele has revealed she has multiple sclerosis; next she'll be announcing she is pregnant with triplets to get attention."

I say goodbye and consider this my pledge to (hopefully!!!) never write about them again.

The singer's debut album 'The Fame' has now spent 154 weeks in the top-75.

She has also been named the most searched for female on the internet in the new edition of the Guinness World Records.

Meanwhile, the late Michael Jackson is the most searched for male on the internet, while Madonna is the biggest-selling female act of the 21st century in the UK.

Husband and wife Jay-Z and Beyonce have been named the year's biggest 'Power Couple', earning around $122 million through June 2009.

Pixie Lott has recorded the biggest chart jump, with her song 'Boys And Girls' climbing to number one from number 72 in one week.

Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of this year's records book, said: "Almost two years ago, Lady Gaga and Pixie Lott were not even around so it's amazing they have broken these records.

"Every year, so many new music records are broken."

The latest edition of Guinness World Records 2011 is released today (September 16).

Katy Perry Likes Lady GaGa's 'Over-the-Top' VMA Outfits

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Katy Perry has described the dresses Lady GaGa wore to 2010 MTV Video Music Awards as "over-the-top", but she doesn't mean it in a bad way. When giving comments to the "Bad Romance" hitmaker's looks throughout the awards show, the "California Gurls" singer has nothing but praises and revealed she particularly likes the Alexander McQueen dress.

"I think her outfits are very Lady GaGa. It's like so over-the-top," the 25-year-old first gushed. She went on told MTV News, "I thought the Alexander McQueen outfit was stunning. I was like, 'Oh my god!' I love all that kind of symbolism that she had on her dress, and she made a statement with all the people next to her. I like the statement she made."

Katy also praises GaGa for making shocking designs work. "I think costumes are just a natural extension," she explained. "I don't think you can just have the costumes and not have anything else. The costumes are the bells and whistles and bells and whistles can be really fun, but you have to have the spine, and I think that with GaGa, she's got the spine and she's got the costume. So, it can coexist."

Lady GaGa has got people talking when attending this year's VMAs, particularly when she wore a raw meat dress from Franc Fernandez. Later on, she told Ellen DeGeneres that the bizarre outfit is a sign of protest against the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy, and she means "no disrespect to anyone that's vegan or vegetarian".

"As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth," the recipient of eight Moonmen further explained. It has many interpretations, but for me this evening, it's 'If we don't stand up for what we believe in, we don't fight for our rights, pretty soon we're gonna have as much rights as the meat on our bones.' "

Jen Garner to star in "Better Living Through Chemistry"

Jennifer Garner is in talks to star opposite Jeremy Renner in "Better Living Through Chemistry," a dramatic thriller from Occupant Films.

"Chemistry" centers on a small-town pharmacist (Renner) who is stuck in a loveless marriage and rediscovers himself through an affair with a trophy wife (Garner) who introduces him to the pleasures of prescription drugs. Things spin out of control when the affair escalates and the lovers begin plotting to kill the woman's husband.

Sounds really interesting, and a whole lot different than Jen's other roles!

‘Disturbia’ scribe to adapt ‘Goosebumps’ for Columbia Pictures

Screenwriter Carl Ellsworth is carving a niche for himself writing movies about kids in jeopardy.

The "Red Dawn" and "Disturbia" co-writer has come aboard to write the screenplay for a live-action feature adaptation of the R.L. Stine book series "Goosebumps" for Columbia. Neal Moritz is producing through his Original Film banner with Deborah Forte of Scholastic Entertainment.

Scholastic publishes the hugely popular kids' horror books, which number in the dozens and have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide, second only to the "Harry Potter" series in total sales. Columbia picked up film rights to the series in May 2008 and is looking at a family-driven potential franchise.

The property has spawned video games, TV shows, additional book series and straight-to-video films, but this would be the first big-screen treatment. Screenwriters Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander ("1408") previously worked on adapting the material.

Ellsworth, repped by ICM and the Shuman Co., co-wrote last year's remake of "The Last House on the Left," "Disturbia" and "Red Eye." He also co-wrote the script for the upcoming remake of "Red Dawn," which has had its release postponed as studio owner MGM has struggled through a restructuring.

Does anyone remember when they were going to do a Goosebumps movie in the late 90s but then Columbine happened and Hollywood was like WE CAN'T PUT KIDS IN DANGER NOW ARGLE BARGLE

Anyway this is going to be horrible/awesome and my 13 year old self can't wait

Kim Kardashian -- $100,000 Handbag Shopping Spree

Kim Kardashian and her mom spent over $100,000 on handbags in Paris yesterday -- and no, they didn't buy a truckload of 'em ... they bought seven.

It all went down in the notoriously expensive Hermes store -- where we're told Kim and her mother Kris purchased six of the label's exclusive "Birkin" bags ... valued at around $10,000 apiece.

But here's the kicker -- sources close to the reality star tell TMZ, Kim also bought herself an extremely rare crocodile-skin bag from the upscale French boutique ... worth around $30,000.

Overall, the Kardashians easily surpassed the $100k mark.

What recession?!

Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene Relationship FAKE ?!

You can insert a look of feigned shock right here. Eyebrows Jonas and Twilight-er Ashley have been “dating” and making public appearances in a well crafted PR relationship according to rumors.

Some have been skeptical of the Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene hook up since it reared its ugly furry-browed head at the premiere of ‘Twilight’ in London . Reports still continue roll that the two are ‘hot and heavy’ and Joe tossed his purity ring and has had sleepovers with Ashley.

However, a blind gossip item has all fingers pointing at the Jonas/Greene relationship.

“If you’re thinking that this romance between the singer and the franchise actress is fake, well, you’re right. These two have absolutely no interest in each other other than the increased paparazzi attention celebrity coupledom brings. In reality, she prefers more mature men. Actually, so does he.”

Hmm… I guess it does make sense that someone who likes to make sexy times in cars with Chace Crawford and has a nude pic scandal wouldn’t actually be dating someone who prefers smores over sex. To top it off, not only is their relationship a sham, Joe Jonas is gay according to the claims.

Well, that hardly makes me gasp and clutch my pearls. It’s kinda like the confirmation that Clay Aiken has an extensive collection of ceramic kittens, shops at Casual Corner and loves peen.

Ricky Martin's Creativity 'Exploded' After He Came Out

Coming out gave Ricky Martin's music a whole new perspective, says his producer.

Says producer Desmond Child to BlackBook:

"I’m really excited about the music, the content, because since he’s come out it’s unleashed his creativity and the scope of what he can sing about and say and do. He’s a formidable person – an activist, a philanthropist, a humanitarian. All of the work he’s put into his charity—it’s all going into the music. His personal life too, and how much his life has been changed by his children. Once he opened that door a floodgate of energy and creativity just really exploded...We really reached a creative fusion of rock and pop and electronic and Latin music – it’s all over the place in a really great way."

The truth will set you free, apparently.

10 Grittiest Performances By Grains of Sand In A Movie

According to one scientist, there are approximately seven quintillion, five quadrillion grains of sand on the Earth. Each and every one of them dreams of starring in a Hollywood movie, and judging from this list, only a few million will ever really make it. But their contribution to this history of the moving image cannot be disputed. What would movies be without pits of hero-hungry quicksand, hourglasses full of sand indicating that time is running out, and desert planets lousy with giant sand worms? This substance is so important, the recent blockbuster Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time even gave the grains billing over star Jake Gyllenhaal.

What do you think of that, snowflakes? Not quite so proud of yourself now, are you tumbleweeds? Salt: sucks to be you. Oh, and dirt? You wish you could be sand.

Here is our salute to sand in the cinema, ten momentous moments when the beach really had its day in the sun.

Ellen inspired Lynch to 'come out'

Glee actress Jane Lynch vowed to 'come out' after TV host Ellen DeGeneres inspired her by publicly discussing her sexuality.

The TV star, who married her partner Lara Embry in May, spent years hiding the truth about her preferences and was terrified of her secret becoming public.

But when DeGeneres came out after appearing on the cover of Time magazine in 1997, Lynch felt it was time to do the same.

She tells DeGeneres, "I used to lay in bed and go, 'How will I come out or will I come out?'

"You were at the height of your fame and you came out. And that just blazed a trail for me. It really did. It made it so much easier for me, what you did."

Lynch also admits she found coming out easier because she isn't an A-list Hollywood star: "It's because I'm a character actor, I think. If Julia Roberts were gay, I think it would be harder. She's an ingenue."

Host Andy Cohen complained on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated) that people think he's a "weakling" after getting shoved and knocked back by Teresa Giudice on 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' reunion. But, Cohen said, things would have gone differently if he had a chance to prepare.

"I was shocked. She was very strong, she was very angry and I got between her and Danielle," Cohen said of Giudice. "But, the truth is, I was shocked and amazed. And people think I'm a weakling, and had I been ready, had I had a stance ... I would not have fallen back."

Alex Proyas to Direct "Paradise Lost"; English Major Nerds Everywhere Are Skeptical

Alex Proyas (Knowing, I, Robot, The Crow) is set to direct Legendary Pictures' Paradise Lost, an adaptation of John Milton's 17th-century English poem.

The movie is about the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, and will be developed as an action vehicle that will include aerial warfare, possibly shot in 3D, says Variety.

Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce along with Vincent Newman (A Man Apart) through his eponymous banner.

Stuart Hazeldine developed the primary draft of the screenplay, which was written by Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi. Lawrence Kasdan and Ryan Condal have both polished the script.

I dunno, this seems kind of unfilmable to me. Every other thing out there is ~inspired by it or references it, but filming the actual thing...? With the mother/son rape and shit? Besides, it's LONG. IDK. Feel free to spam with Constantine and/or Legion .gifs, BTW.

Queen Cheryl of Cole continues her world domination

Cheryl Cole has added another string to her bow - the X Factor judge has designed a new range of rings for jewellery brand De Grisogono.

The Girls Aloud singer was roped into design the collection after performing at a swanky bash for the jeweller in Cannes earlier this year, reports The Sun.

Cole bagged a whopping £250,000 for the gig and bosses were so impressed by the Geordie beauty that they asked her to help them out with a new range.

The collection is called Promise after Cheryl's brand new single Promise This, which is out at the end of October.

Cheryl has been spotted wearing the brand's jewellery on various occasions and they have often loaned her earrings to wear on The X Factor.

She is also reported to have been given free jewellery as part of her new deal with them.

Cole released brand new pictures of herself dressed as a ballerina as she teased fans about the release of her upcoming music video for Promise This.

Starsmith talks Lady Gaga and Cheryl Cole

Starsmith has said that his confidence was boosted when he found out that Lady GaGa had hand-picked his remix of 'Bad Romance'.

The producer's reworking of the number one single features alongside tracks from Frankmusik, Stuart Price, Pet Shop Boys and Alphabeat on this year's The Remix.

Starsmith told BBC Newsbeat: "I didn't really realize how much of a big deal it was until we got told that they were going to use the remix and that it'd been approved by her herself.

"I think I was a bit naive at the time. Everything goes past her. She hand-picks all the remixes. It gave me a lot of confidence that someone of her level would care about something so unknown from the other side of the pond."

Of his work on a track for Cheryl Cole's upcoming second album, he added: "She's so professional. Not in a way that it's all about business but so friendly as well.

"The track had been written beforehand but she approves everything. She won't let anything past her. She likes the decisions. It was brilliant - one of the best sessions I've had."

Katy Perry Sings 'Ur So Gay' to Get Revenge on Unrequited High School Crush

Failed Christian rock singer and current national embarrassment Katy Perry was performing at her old Santa Barbara high school on Tuesday when she spotted a former crush in the audience. She decided then to dedicate her worst song to him. The story goes like this:
"Is that Shane Lopes?" Perry said in a break between songs. "You were the most popular kid in my class! But you never wanted to date me, it was always Amanda Wayne. Oh yeah, you really chose right honey. What's up. What's up now, player. I'm going to dedicate this next one to Shane Lopes everyone. "
She then launched into a rendition of her song Ur So Gay as the crowd cheered and howled in laughter.
HAHAHAHAHAH. Get it??? Because stupid Shane Lopes didn't want to build a little loveshack on acres of forehead, he is so gay. Ha ha!! Gay is so stupid. Except when you're kissing gurlz and kinda liking it! Then it's fine, tee hee. Also, Katherine: "Player"? Fuck you. Just seriously. You are the living worst. Please go live alone by yourself on your stupid candy planet for hacks and curl up with Jesus or whoever it is that's convenient for you to be in league with these days and let the grownups do their things here on Earth.

We just spoke to Lopes -- who told us he "couldn't believe it" when Katy spotted him in the crowd at Dos Pueblos High School ... but claims she "exaggerated" the whole dating situation.

Lopes adds that Perry was "just trying to embarrass" him -- because he says they "never had any problems" during their days at DPHS.

All that aside, Lopes says he's now engaged, ironically, to his high school sweetheart ... and is "happy with how things turned out."

He’s one of the biggest stars in young Hollywood, and Nick Jonas is celebrating his 18th birthday today (September 16).

The “Camp Rock” star was spotted leaving his Toluca Lake, California home and hopping on the Jonas Brothers’ tour bus to head to Chula Vista for tonight’s show.

"The big 18! You know birthdays for me, I always feel like they're kind of ridiculous," Nick told MTV News. "But it's fun. I'm excited."

Older brother, Joe, took to his Twitter earlier this morning to send his little bro some birthday wishes. He wrote, "Happy birthday to one of my best friends also happens to be my brother @nickjonas."

Super Mario Bros. celebrates birthday

September 15, 2010

Nintendo’s iconic mascot Mario has sold over 240 million video games, been heralded as gaming’s most recognizable face, holds seven world records -- and he’s passing another huge milestone this week.

According to Nintendo themselves -- and they ought to know -- the game that put Mario on the map turns 25 this week. Released on September 13, 1985, NES great Super Mario Bros. would quickly become the top-selling video game of all time, a title it would hold right up until last year when it was passed by Wii Sports.

Since then, he’s appeared in hundreds of games, enjoyed careers as a doctor, an archaeologist, a racing driver, and a golfer, and helped establish the Nintendo name as almost synonymous with video games themselves.

So what’s next for this gaming superstar? Retro-styled 2009 blockbuster New Super Mario Bros. Wii continues to sell well, landing at 6th place on the U.S. charts last month. Given Nintendo just trademarked a new Mario logo in Japan bearing the legend “Super Mario Bros. Anniversary," we doubt this gaming icon is going to retire any time soon.

Five things you (possibly) didn't know about Mario:

-Mario’s last name is also Mario. He’s Mario Mario, in fact.

-His first appearance was actually in 1981 in the arcade version of Donkey Kong, where he was known as “Jumpman.” He wouldn’t get his official name until the following year’s Donkey Kong Jr., also the only game where he plays the bad guy.

-Not only is Mario the best-selling video game character of all time, he’s also its most prolific: according to Guinness World Records’s 2008 edition, he’s appeared in 116 separate games.

-Mario’s distinctive high-pitched voice is provided by actor Charles Martinet, who also voices Mario’s brother Luigi and his longtime foe Wario.

-Nintendo released a follow-up to Super Mario Bros. in Japan in 1986, but deemed it too difficult for Western audiences. It wouldn’t hit U.S. shores as a standalone title until 2007, as a Wii Virtual Console title dubbed “Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.”

Hagdonna Is Experiencing the Real New York Again

Living in her gilded cage all these years, Madonna, once a frequenter of dirty Manhattan bars, clubs, and pizza joints, has lost touch with the Real New York. She likely misses things like, breakdancing with children and fraternizing with bad boys who work in grimy auto shops, which is probably why she's been seizing every opportunity to get back in touch with what it's like to be a Real New Yorker while shooting her directorial debut, W.E., in Brooklyn. She sent her kid to public school. She rode the subway. And today, completely fortuitously, she was told to fuck off by a complete stranger.

During a shoot in Brooklyn, a passerby became annoyed when a production assistant on the film asked him to cross the street. "This is a public sidewalk. I will continue to walk where I please," the affronted party told him, according to Althouse. Then:

I pushed past him and a I came upon a haggard woman in sunglasses, a baseball cap, and a scarf printed with a stylized skull pattern, holding a clipboard, and looking into a handheld monitor along with a couple of other people. Being a veteran of the terrible world of film production, I recognized that this woman was probably the director. I paused as I passed and said to her: "You need to inform your brain-dead P.A.s that they need to treat us residents a little better, honey." She looked at me, expressionless behind her sunglasses for a moment before one of the men with her said "Move along, sir." I replied "a hearty fuck you to both of you" and I walked onward.

If only he had stuck around. He might have heard a whispered "Thank you."

Fox picks up 'Alcatraz', the new J.J. Abrams drama

It hasn’t even been six months since Lost was laid to rest, and already J.J. Abrams is heading to another island. According to Variety, Fox has given a pilot commitment to a pitch from Abrams for Alcatraz, a new show based on a script by Lost writer Elizabeth Sarnoff. No plot details have been announced, but as previously reported by EW’s Lynette Rice, the action will take place in the legendary San Francisco prison that housed such colorfully named bad guys as George “Machine Gun” Kelly and Alvin “Creepy Karpis” Karpavicz — not to mention Al Capone himself.

Of course, Alcatraz has been a favorite setting for movies and TV shows ever since it closed in 1963: Clint Eastwood wanted off in 1979′s Escape from Alcatraz; Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage wanted on in 1996′s The Rock. But with Abrams at the helm, we’ve got a hunch this iteration will put a new twist on the old island. Mysterious patterns in the Bay Area, anyone? Or how about some deep religious symbolism among the inmates? Or even just some chunky knit sweaters and a prison-cell love triangle? Too much?

Shadow of the Colossus & Ico PS3 re-release TRAILER and deetz!

Yesterday we told you that HD remakes of Team ICO’s celebrated PS2 adventure games Ico and Shadow of the Colossus have been confirmed for the PlayStation 3, but today we deliver word on the details surrounding the project.

First, the games will be released together on a single Blu-ray disc in North America and Europe as part of the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection coming our way in Spring 2011.

Such is NOT the case in Japan though, where the two titles will be released separately. No matter how you get them though, both titles will support HD resolution, run at 30fps, feature “extensive re-texturing” and include PlayStation Network Trophy support. Lastly, the version of Ico included in the collection will be the European version, which contained additional content such as a co-op mode and alternate ending.

The subject of this post is Bethenny

Bethenny named a nominee for the ULTIMATE GAME CHANGER IN ENTERTAINMENT

Changed the game by ... parlaying a reality show gig into a successful business, two New York Times bestsellers, and a TV show of her own. The 39-year-old Frankel first arrived on television screens in 2005 on "The Apprentice," which she leveraged into two Bravo shows: a starring role on "The Real Housewives of New York City," and then her own show "Bethenny's Getting Married?" More vulnerable and saner than her fellow housewives, she has been open about her past struggles with eating disorders and emerged as a natural food guru whose books and Skinny-Girl products fly off the shelves. In March, she got married and in May she gave birth to Bryn, a baby girl. She’s living proof that independent women can push against stereotypes and harness the reality television fame machine for their own designs.

Fun fact: Bethenny's new show shattered Bravo records; the premiere, which attracted more than 2 million viewers, was the most-watched debut in the network's history.

Attention this is a Vampire Diaries post!

Is a Supernatural Hookup Ahead for Damon and Bonnie on The Vampire Diaries?

"You hate me? That sounds like the beginning of a love story."
So said vampire doppelgänger extraordinaire Katherine (Nina Dobrev) in The Vampire Diaries' second-season opener last Thursday. Sure, it was said to Stefan (Paul Wesley), but really, in the world of TVD, that line seems to apply just as much to everyone's favorite love-to-hate vamp bad boy Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and resident Damon-hating witch Bonnie (Katerina Graham).

So will this dueling duo finally put their feud to rest and give in to the kinky sexual tension we all felt when Bonnie gave Damon a headache using her powers? Here's what we just learned from Katerina herself:

Ellen DeGeneres Signs 16YO Tom Andrews to Record Label

Ellen DeGeneres unveiled Tom Andrews, a 16-year-old singer from the U.K., as the latest signing to her eleveneleven record label on Thursday (Sept. 16).

DeGeneres introduced Andrews to her talk show audience in an episode airing this afternoon, during which the teen spoke with DeGeneres briefly and then performed James Brown's "It's a Man's Man's Man's World."

During the interview, DeGeneres recalled tracking down Andrews by phone. "I just called you of the blue at home and I said, 'Hi, I'm Ellen and come here [to the show]'," she said. "So, here you are."

Andrews said he started singing three years ago after auditioning for a competition. "My mom saw an ad in a newspaper. It was just for a singing contest and she said, 'Why don't you enter? It will be fun.' So I did," Andrews said. "I sung 'Let it Be' and the guy said, 'Where are your parents? You are amazing.'"

According to an interview Andrews conducted with BBC radio in October 2009, the young singer was selected to open for U.K. pop trio the Noisettes last fall, after the band launched a MySpace contest allowing unsigned artists to submit their music for consideration.

DeGeneres' first signing to eleveneleven is 12-year-old Greyson Chance, who became a YouTube sensation in a matter of days after covering Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" at a school talent show. Chance's debut album is slated for release this fall.

Lennon's killer considered other famous targets

Mark David Chapman says he considered killing either Johnny Carson or Elizabeth Taylor, but John Lennon was "top of the list" the day in 1980 he gunned down the former Beatle.

Chapman told his New York parole board earlier this month that he chose those people because they were famous. A transcript of his hearing was released on Thursday after the board turned down his request for release.

Lennon's killer agreed with a parole board member that he did the killing for "instant notoriety."

"I felt that by killing John Lennon, I would become somebody, and instead of that I became a murderer, and murderers are not somebodies," he said.

Lennon was 40 when he was shot several times on Dec. 8, 1980, outside his luxury apartment building on Manhattan's Upper West Side, opposite Central Park.

Interview: Easy A's Stanley Tucci

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Being a 23 year old male, I was probably never the target demographic for Will Gluck’s Easy A. From the outside, it looks like your typical female-led high school comedy, a sub-genre that, with few exceptions, is not filled with the most esteemed films. The truth is that Easy A is actually quite entertaining and, at times, hilarious, and though his role in the film is small, Stanley Tucci plays a big part of that.

Playing Emma Stone’s dad and pairing up long-time friend Patricia Clarkson, Tucci plays a role that we don’t typically see. He’s not the overbearing zealot who makes his daughter’s life miserable and he’s not the laid back hippy who lets his daughter do whatever she wants. He’s (gasp!) a normal dad with an amicable relationship with his children. But be sure to not confuse “normal” with “boring” because he provides some of the film’s greatest moments.

Getting a chance to sit down with the actor, he talked about how his character relates to his own life with his family, what it was like working with the director, and his somewhat embarrassing failings with technology.

I know, I know, it's LONG. But it's Stanley Tucci! And he talks about Easy A, Burlesque, working with The Incomparable Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, Emily Blunt (who he calls "Em," which is adorable), and his love of Cher. Oh, and he talks about Xtina as well, but she's not included in the "amazing people" part of the title.

EXCLUSIVE: Sacha Baron Cohen Set To Play Queen Singer Freddie Mercury in New Film

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Image and video hosting by TinyPic

EXCLUSIVE: Whether it's Marvin Gaye, Janis Joplin, Phil Spector or a host of others, enough announced music pics stall that it’s hard to find one worth worth getting excited about. Try this one: Sacha Baron Cohen has closed a deal to play Queen front man Freddie Mercury in a film that’s being scripted by Peter Morgan for a 2011 production start.

The untitled film will be financed by GK Films partners Graham King and Tim Headington, who'll produce in partnership with Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal’s Tribeca Productions, and Queen Films. Morgan is already working on a script focused on the band’s formative years, leading up to Queen’s appearance at Live Aid in 1985. Queen’s performance is considered one of the rock's all-time great live concert appearances.

A rights package has been set that includes the band’s tunes, including Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions , Another One Bites The Dust and You’re My Best Friend. It is unclear whether Baron Cohen will sing—I’m told he can sing—or whether Mercury’s vocals will be used.
Nobody sang like Mercury, so trying to replicate him would be a tall order. These decisions will be made as a director gets hired. Mercury died November 24, 1991 of complications from AIDS. Though his death helped to remove the stigma of AIDS sufferers prevalent at that time and particularly in the rock music industry, Mercury’s last days won’t be the subject of the film.

Pop icon Janet Jackson performed a private concert for investment company Rodman & Renshaw on Monday night (Sept 13th). The gig took place during their 12th Annual Global Investment Conference at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Janet’s setlist included some of her vintage classics (Pleasure Principle, Rhythm Nation, Black Cat), to some of her 90s hits (Again, That’s The Way Love Goes, Together Again) and her more recent stuff (Feedback, Nothing, etc). The 44-year-old surprised many of her fans in the audience with her opening.

She started the show by walking at the back of the theater singing the first verse of ‘Pleasure Principle’. Before making her way to the main stage, she walked down the aisle and slapped a couple of hands in the audience before impressing crowds with her fiery performances. With Janet now doing corporate shows, her estimated pay check reportedly fell into the millions!

Perfection A.K.A Shakira Kicks off World tour in Montréal

It may have been a cool evening in Montreal, but it was hot inside the Bell Wednesday night, as Shakira gave fans a sneak preview of her Sun Comes Out World Tour.

The Colombian pop star and her band have been rehearsing at the venue since the weekend, with yesterday’s show billed as a final rehearsal. The tour officially begins tomorrow in Uncasville, CT.

Shakira was taking no chances. Like Lady Gags, who kicked off her Monster Ball tour in Montreal last November, the singer barred photographers from the concert. Her people also didn’t provide tickets for the press – a futile attempt at keeping this first night under wraps.

They needn’t have worried. Shakira gave her audience a full-on, flawless show. From start to finish, the 33-year-old singer demonstrated the confidence, charisma and natural showmanship that have made her a world-class performer over the last 15 years.

Backed by an eight-piece band, she played songs from every era of her career – from opener Pienso En Ti, which dates back to 1995, to several off her upcoming album Sale El Sol, due for release on Oct. 19.

Gaga to reach the masses with new album

Lady GaGa hopes her new album will be a rock crossover record that will "reach the masses".

The singer, who recently debuted a song on tour called 'You and I' from the widely-anticipated LP, said the track doesn't reflect the sound of the whole record, but hopes it will have widespread appeal.

"I wrote the song just to write a beautiful song and I intend to put it on the new album, yes," GaGa told RWD.

"But it's not totally indicative of the new album sound; it's just a really big rock and roll hit. I do have these hopes that it could be a great crossover record, so I'm going to put my producer's hat on and get it to a place where I feel like it could reach the masses.

Justin Timberlake: Star of one of the best movies of the year. If those words don't exactly roll off the tongue, try these on for size: Janet Jackson, Oscar contender.

Yes, this fall, the worlds of film and music will collide head on in a very big way, with Janet and Justin leading the charge, and so far the buzz is ... well, overwhelmingly positive.

Pop stars have a long and complicated relationship with the big screen, and audiences and the media alike are always ready to hop on the schadenfreude bandwagon whenever a singer attempts to crossover – despite a mountain of evidence suggesting that, for the most part, they usually pull it off just fine. We tend to recall cinematic tragedies like 'Glitter' and 'Crossroads,' before we remember that Cher won an Oscar and Mark Wahlberg's films have grossed over $1.3 billion domestically.

Katy Perry Calls Nicki Minaj 'The Truth'

Their love of colorful costumes and fun music make it easy for fans to understand why they might get along, and Perry explained just what she loves about the Young Money princess.

But it's about more than just the aesthetic. She thinks Nicki has that certain "it" factor. "I like her whole attitude. She's so funny and a chameleon, and you really don't know exactly what you're going to get from her, but you know it's going to be entertaining at every corner," she said. "She's really fun. She belongs in this world. I'm very excited for her record. I can't believe she hasn't even put out a record yet and she's still Nicki Minaj! It's amazing."

Affleck Says Phoenix Documentary Wasn’t Real

CASEY AFFLECK wants to come clean.

His new movie, “I’m Still Here,” was performance. Almost every bit of it. Including Joaquin Phoenix’s disturbing appearance on David Letterman’s late-night show in 2009, Mr. Affleck said in a candid interview at a cafe here on Thursday morning.

“It’s a terrific performance, it’s the performance of his career,” Mr. Affleck said. He was speaking of Mr. Phoenix’s two-year portrayal of himself — on screen and off — as a bearded, drug-addled aspiring rap star, who, as Mr. Affleck tells it, put his professional life on the line to star in a bit of “gonzo filmmaking” modeled on the reality-bending journalism of Hunter S. Thompson.

“The reviews were so angry,” said Mr. Affleck, who attributed much of the hostility to his own long silence about a film that left more than a few viewers wondering what was real — The drugs? The hookers? The childhood home-movie sequences in the beginning? — and what was not.

Susan Boyle sings for the crowd after the Papal Mass: Or, what reality TV can do for you!

It wasn't the Britain's Got Talent stage. It was better.

Today, Susan Boyle was the opening act for Pope Benedict XVI's open-air mass for 60,000 people at Glasgow's Bellahouston Park.

Live Aid. Woodstock. SuBo. For we must now add the Thursday September 16 concert of Scotland's very own Susan Boyle warming up the crowd for the Pope's open air Mass in Glasgow to the greatest musical events of all time. (lol sarcasm)

That's So Raven Shares Her Infinite Wisdom

Q: You've managed to make a successful transition from a child star to 20s-something actress. What's the tip?

A: "If you stay true to who you are you will find roles that will reflect what you are trying to portray. I am growing up, I am 24, and so I find roles that fit that. In my latest movie, "Revenge of the Bridesmaids," I played a 27-year-old author and I had a bottle of wine in it."

Q: So you do pick and choose your roles?

A: "Yes and I have been chugging along slowly which is how I want my career to go. There have been projects I have said no to as I am selective. I think it is hard now in the industry as there are not a lot of jobs going but if you stay true to who you are and you pick the right things your career will last longer than if people get sick of seeing your face."

Q: How do you keep out of the gossip magazines?

A: "I just don't go to places where people take crazy shots of me...I have fun and hit the parties and I know all the business and gossip but it is so easy to avoid the paparazzi. You just don't go to the hot spots. I would rather have the publicity and the media when I have something to promote."

Shaquille O'Neal fights privacy invasion lawsuit

Shaquille O'Neal's lawyer says he will file a motion Thursday to dismiss a lawsuit in which a former employee says the NBA star stole his personal information and attempted to frame him for using child porn.
Shawn Darling, who was O'Neal's personal computer consultant, said the NBA center acted in retaliation because Darling had proof that O'Neal cheated on his wife with several womenO'Neal's Florida lawyer said he will file to dismiss the lawsuit claiming privacy invasion, racketeering and intentional infliction of emotional distress on the grounds that the suit has no basis in law. "Even if everything he was saying were true, we believe there is no basis in the law to bring the case," Miami attorney Ben Reid said. "But in this case, none of it's true." The attorney said the lawsuit came about after O'Neal refused to pay Darling $12 million in return for copies of physical and electronic files that Darling, an ex-con, stole from O'Neal while he was working for him.

Gaga's choreographer Laurieann Gibson talks about the reigning queen of pop

From a new interview with Gaga is so huge!
Laurieann Gibson:
She is so fantastical! I love her!

US: So take me back to when you first met her and how that happened and how you got involved with her.
Basically, the label sent me an early CD and it was early versions of "Paparazzi" and "Beautiful, Dirty Rich," and that's where I started forming everything you see today. It was incredibly special for me because there was no limitation at a label, or with a manager -- there was nobody. It was freedom, just me and Gag… And then of course later came the styling and the clothes and all of that, but you can still strip everything away and you will see what we started doing in the beginning.

US: Was it hard training her because she wasn't a trained dancer?
Yeah, absolutely, but the thing that was great is her fearlessness. She did the work and, it was very difficult, but being number one is. When they say, 'you are so tough,' I'm like, 'well that's why she's number one!'
