Hunger Games post, y'all Poll: Cast Your Vote: Who should play Katniss (and Peeta, Gale, Haymitch and Effie) in "The Hunger Games"?

When we asked last week who’d make the perfect Katniss, we got inundated with responses. What’s more, lots of you cast the rest of the books as well. As for myself, I’m still dithering over Katniss since it’s the most critical role (and the one that would be easiest to screw up–get Katniss wrong and none of the movies will work). In my mind’s eye she’s like a young Lisbeth Salander, wiry, dark, and fierce. Maybe Saoirse Ronan with dark hair? I’m less conflicted when it comes to Peeta (Lucas Till) and Gale (Drew Roy). But I have no idea how to choose among the actors suggested for Haymitch and Effie. In their own way, each one seems pitch-perfect.

So, Hunger Games fans, cast your votes! We’ll put up our results later in the week.

More Chatter About The Fantastic Four Reboot

While no official casting has been announced by 20th Century Fox, rumors of contenders for roles in the Fantastic Four reboot have been making their way online, with names previously mentioned as top possibilities for three of the main heroes, Mr. Fantastic (Adrien Brody), Invisible Woman (Alice Eve) and Human Torch (Kevin Pennington).

Now here's someone being linked to The Thing: Bruce Willis. According to the Die Hard star is wanted to play Ben Grimm on screen during the opening credits sequence, which will quickly present the team's origins, and then voice the orange, rocky character after his transformation. Another idea, heard by Screen Rant, is for Kiefer Sutherland to handle the mainly vocal gig. As we'd heard before, The Thing will be entirely CGI rather than an actor in a suit, a la Michael Chiklis' portrayal in the prior two FF installments. has additional inside info about Fox's interests in the casting of villain Doctor Doom and choice of director. The lead candidate for the former is True Blood star Stephen Moyer, who if signed could then have more in common with his newly wedded bride (X-Men's Anna Paquin), than just starring opposite her in the popular vampire series.

Three directors have been reportedly shortlisted as potential helmers of the reboot, Joe Carnahan (The A-Team), David Yates (Harry Potter) and James McTeigue (V for Vendetta). All are perfectly capable of making a comic book movie, though their talent does vary.

If you have a preference, now is the best time to make it known, since the only thing spreading rumors like these is good for is to provide feedback for the studios, which definitely pay attention to the online fan chatter. Here are my thoughts on the Thing casting: Willis has a better look for the quick glimpses of the human Grimm, but Sutherland's voice is a lot more fitting for the voice work, given that The Thing's speech should sound rather gruff. Willis' voice would be more distracting, especially since we'll keep thinking the character sounds like the baby from Look Who's Talking. Sutherland, on the other hand, did the perfect Thing voice as the general in Monsters vs. Aliens. He'd definitely sound a lot better shouting, "it's clobberin' time!"

(Let's be real. I can't see Sutherland or Willis pursuing this project)

FanExpo organizers exploit fans yet again. Fans cry moar by expressing frustration online.

Fan Expo organizers, activate your force fields: a revenge of the nerds is brewing.

Hundreds of gamers, superfans and sci-fi geeks are fuming after a mismanaged weekend at Fan Expo Canada, a popular annual convention celebrating pop culture.

Eventgoers say this year’s three-day convention was marred by hours-long lineups. On Saturday afternoon, crowds became so unmanageable organizers had to shut down door sales and temporarily lock out ticket holders, prompting hordes of frustrated fans to start chanting for refunds.

While the Fan Expo has always seen its share of organizational glitches, loyal attendees say this year’s convention was by far the worst.

“This is very hard for me to admit: I wanted to cry in frustration,” said 28-year-old Mike Dodd, who covered Fan Expo for his website, This Week in Geek. “Sure there’s been hiccups previous years but this was a friggin’ joke.

“I’ve never seen people so demoralized. A sad nerd is not a good thing.”

Bar Bar Refaeli Tweets Warning About Scary Skinny Teen Models

Is that why Leo DiCaprio’s on-again girlfriend Bar Refaeli, 25, tweeted moments ago on Aug. 30, “I get so sad when I see 15-year-old pale extremely skinny models at the agency looking all shaky and hungry…. when will it end?!?!?

We’re assuming Bar is referring to the model agency that reps her — One Management in NYC and that the 15-year-old skinny models are starving in preparation of their booking appointments with different designers — hoping to land runway spots.

Yay to you Bar for speaking out against the scary skinnyness that sadly still rules too many runways — god knows why. Neither women — who are supposed to buy the clothes — nor men — like that shaky, hungry look.

Bar’s tweets are repeatedly outspoken about the dangers of plastic surgery, drugs, alcohol and unhealthy living, “Some people are addicted to drugs and others addicted to alcohol. Me? I’m addicted to pomegranate juice,” she tweeted yesterday

“Seriously… plastic surgery is not helping your impact on young women or your looks,” she also pointed out.

As for the Fashion World. How about your addiction to pin thin? Can we check you into rehab?

First Song from "The Social Network" Score - "Hand Covers Bruise" MP3 included

As previously reported, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor did indeed score David Fincher‘s The Social Network. Working with The Book of Eli‘s Atticus Ross, we have the first proof of that score as Sony just launched the official site for The Social Network. /Film has gathered the 46 new photos from the site if you want to check them out.

You can stream the track below via our player or download it here (right click + save as): Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross – Hand Covers Bruise (no piano)

Reznor wasn’t kidding when he said it was “dark.” The score is minimal and brooding. I can’t wait to see how it fits into the film. If you haven’t already seen, Peter Travers said it was “the movie of the year that also brilliantly defines the decade.” Scott Foundas also had an extremely positive first review.

Only a few hours ago I got my New York Film Festival press accreditation and I’ll be seeing the film early Friday morning on Sept. 24th. It opens wide Oct. 1st.

What do you think of the first piece of music from The Social Network?

Soundtrack Details for Sofia Coppola's 'Somewhere' Revealed

On the eve of its Venice premiere, the Italian distributors of Sofia Coppola's forthcoming "Somewhere" starring Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning have unveiled a host of new photos as well as soundtrack details for the film.

Bookended by Phoenix's previously revealed "Love Like A Sunset" and tracks by composer William Storkson (who also contributed to "Lost In Translation"), the highly eclectic mix spanning from the likes of The Police, Bryan Ferry and The Strokes to Gwen Stefani and Amerie is pretty, well, Coppola-esque. Also included is the Strokes' demo "I'll Try Anything Once" featured in the trailer, but whether they all make the cut on an official soundtrack release remains to be seen.

Ryan McPartlin: I Had to Dress Up in a Kilt!

Ryan McPartlin pairs a John Varvatos tee with Levi’s in this new spread for August Man magazine’s September 2010 issue.

Here’s what the 35-year-old Chuck actor had to share:

On what he did before he got his big break:
“I remember reading about Brad Pitt dressing up like a chicken to wave at people into El Pollo Loco, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck searching the couch for spare change to eat at Sizzler, etc. For me, I had to dress up like a British guard with a kilt at a Tanqueray party and if I remember correctly, my agent at that time attended the party…very humbling.”

On being a former Abercrombie & Fitch model:
“When a poster of your half naked body is spread across every A&F store in the country, people in your circle who have known you as this big goofball look at you a little differently. I just started to date my wife at that time and I think it was fun for her because she was at college but I didn’t think it was a big deal.”

On what it’s like working with the cast of Chuck: “The cast of Chuck is as close to me as any group I’ve been around. I sincerely love these people and hope to have a lot more time with them.”

After carrying "Takers" to the #1 spot at the box office, producers are begging Hayden Christensen to replace random, less-talented actor in "The Cold!"

Movies about Wendigos are quickly becoming as bountiful as bigfoot flicks. Every time we turn around there seems to be another flick detailing the exploits of this American Indian spook tale of a flesh eating creature. The difference here with this latest film? It stars Darth friggin' Vader!

Well, not, Vader proper, but word has come in that star Hayden Christensen is set to be replace Jesse Bradford in upcoming supernatural thriller The Cold.

Director Daniel Calparsoro is getting set to spin the tale of what happens when seven friends go on an annual hunting trip and soon realize that the only thing being hunted are themselves. They are terrorized by an unseen beast - but what is stalking them? Is it the cold, starvation or has The Wendigo come to hunt them down?

Debbie Gibson Compares Herself To Taylor Swift And Avril Lavigne

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
FORMER teen pop princess Debbie Gibson has compared herself to Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne.

The singer — whose hits include Only In My Dreams, Foolish Beat and Shake Your Love – says Taylor and Avril refuse to be put into a music industry mold — just like herself.

“At that time they were all like ‘put her in a little black dress and put on heels’. They were trying to vamp me up because it’s an easier sell,” Gibson said about the beginning of her career.

“I always said ‘I’m not comfortable with that. That’s not me, let the other girls do that’.

“I look at Avril Lavigne or I look at Taylor Swift. You know, they still wear high-tops with their gown to an award show. That was me.”

Debbie says she isn’t a fan of music’s other sexed-up pop divas — because it’s an image they will have to live with long after the teen years end.

“When you put that image out there, you get a very different perception and treatment by men and people on the streets and in the industry,” she said. “You’re not equipped at that age to back that up, so why kind of play dress up and go there? Wait until you come into your own as a woman.”

Rick Fox’s ‘Dancing’ Secret Weapon: Eliza Dushku

Rick Fox has a secret weapon helping him get ready for the Season 11 premiere of “Dancing with the Stars” – his girlfriend – Eliza Dushku.

“It’s been amazing — talk about a partner that’s made sure that my body’s on track to be prepared for September 20,” Rick told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson of how the actress, who attended the Season 11 cast announcement in LA on Monday night, has helped him limber up for the competition. “I’ve been doing exercises that I didn’t know existed – Pilates… [And we’ve been working on] creating flexibility at home.”

The former basketball star, who played for both the Celtics and their arch rivals, the Lakers during his professional career, told Shaun he’s been looking at mistakes of past competitors on “DWTS” and has his game frame on.

“I’ve been working on the hip action… my frame and dancing down to my partner, who is obviously not 6’ 7,” he said, referring to his height.

In addition to celebrity competition from Florence Henderson, Jennifer Grey and David Hasselhoff, Rick will face off against another professional athlete on the dance floor in search of the mirrorball trophy – recent football retiree – Kurt Warner.

“As soon as I retired, the call came pretty quickly,” the former Arizona Cardinals quarterback told Shaun of his invitation to Season 11. “We thought about it and thought about the different challenges to it and the different things we’ve got going on [and we] thought it ‘d be a great opportunity to reach out to a different audience.”

Kurt said he’s got the phone numbers of former “DWTS” competitors Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin, but has no immediate plans to bend their ear for advice.

“I definitely had their numbers… but early on, I’m gonna try to feel it out on my own,” he said.

Joan Cusack replacing Allison Janney in "Shameless" remake

Joan Cusack has joined the cast of Showtime’s new drama series Shameless. Cusack, who will appear in all 12 episodes of the new series, will play the role of Sheila, an agoraphobic Chicago housewife with a sexually active teenage daughter who strikes up a special friendship with William H. Macy’s character, Frank Gallagher. Production on the on the series begins in mid-September for a January 9 premiere .

Longtime Pal of Paris Hilton Claims Heiress Went to Bathroom To Hide Illegal Cargo In Her Vagina

A longtime pal of drug felony charged accused the spoiled wildchild of using her vagina as a hiding place for her stash. “That’s why the first thing she asked the cops in Vegas was to use the bathroom,” the source named “Caroline” told IUC. “She knew it would be her only chance to hide the cocaine and avoid arrest. Paris is not as dumb as she seems. She’s one of the most clever and manipulative people one can ever meet. And she thinks quick, just like she did in Vegas. She has cat like reflexes.” The friend claims that Hilton has eluded airport security in the past by stashing the drugs in a lubricated condom before placing it in her vagina. “That’s what I’ve heard from a very good source, she’s a pro at it,” “Caroline” told IUC. “Paris travels all over the world and parties like a rockstar. I love her but she definitely needs professional help. It’s time she looks at herself in the mirror and realizes she’s not 21 anymore.” Could Paris’ recent arrest finally be the taming of the shrew?

Steelers Football Player Insures His Samoan 1B Wavy Hair For A Milli

Troy Polamalu’s hair is more than just a soft, silky handle by which to bring him down on a football field. It’s real and it’s spectacular.

It’s also now a magnificent, million-dollar mane. Lloyds of London has written a policy on the Pittsburgh Steelers safety’s locks, in the kind of publicity stunt that rises to the top of search engines on the week before real sports resume after Labor Day. There’s a serious reason for Polamalu’s ‘do: he has not cut it since 2000 and wears it as a tribute to his Samoan ancestors. But there’s a product tie-in on the insurance: Polamalu endorses Head & Shoulders shampoo, whose parent company sought the policy.

“They’ve created the first ever insurance policy to protect his iconic mane for the entire NFL season,” Procter & Gamble said in a statement.

Ugh, I love him and the STEELERS BITCHES. NGL, if I could buy that shit I would. Looks soft and bouncy as hell.

Sherlock gets second series confirmed

Three more episodes of the BBC One show, which is a modern re-envisioning of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes, are to be filmed.

The series, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the fictional sleuth, has been hugely popular and was well received by critics.

Co-creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat said: "There'll be baffling new puzzles, old friends and new enemies – whether on two, or four legs.

"And we might well be seeing the cold master of logic and reason unexpectedly falling. But in love? Or over a precipice? Who can tell?"

There will also be two two-hour specials of Luther, featuring The Wire star Idris Elba as the title character, and an adaptation of Sebastian Faulks' World War One novel Birdsong.

Other highlights for BBC One announced today are a conspiracy thriller co-created by novelist Ronan Bennett, a panel show fronted by comedian Rhod Gilbert and a documentary on child poverty in Britain.

The channel's controller Jay Hunt, who was speaking at the Edinburgh International Television Festival said: "These new commissions demonstrate the sheer range and creative ambition on BBC One.

"From adapting a modern classic like Birdsong to developing new talent across comedy and factual, the channel is continuing to deliver bold programming for audiences."

3D at home still a tough sell

Even if "Piranha 3D" has a modestly successful box-office debut this weekend, it could in the long run do more damage to the hopes of 3D TV makers than good.

The more 3D movies available, the better is what the consumer electronics industry's strongest proponents of 3D would say. After all, the more opportunities to demonstrate the technology to people and sell the 3D Blu-ray copy later is in their interests. But a horror movie starring three-dimensional carnivorous fish, and similarly schlocky uses of the technology could be a setback.

The industry that's trying to convince people to buy TVs and Blu-ray players capable of re-creating the 3D theater experience at home are already fighting the perception that 3D is a short-lived trend, a rehash of past failed technology, and worse, a gimmick.

Kate Moss for Topshop is Ending

Kate Moss has been designing for Topshop since 2007 and will launch her 14th collection in October which has been confirmed to be her last. The model had created six collections a year at one point, but can no longer commit to working with the store. Sir Phillip Green explained to The Times, "It has been fantastic for us and fantastic for her, but [the designs] take more and more time and she cannot do this full-time any more."

Kate is thought to have made at least £3 million from the collaboration, but rumours suggest that it was "running out of steam".

The final full collection is due to hit stores and online on 25th October and it will include popular pieces from her first clothing line. Green has confirmed that they will still do small collections with the model of about 12-15 items, "That will be easier for us, we’ll do something fun."

The excitement surrounding Kate's design efforts definitely seems to have decreased in recent seasons, so it seems to make sense to quit while they're ahead.

Lea Michele's Secret Side Gig? Animal Rescue!

Lea Michele may seem a lot like Rachel Berry, the ambitious girl with a killer voice she plays on the hit show Glee, but she definitely has a softer side, one that isn’t often in the spotlight. Michele, who got her start on Broadway, doesn't just warm up her vocal chords during her downtime — she has also managed to find time to rescue a few animals!

The Emmy-nominated actress and singer tells PEOPLE, in its upcoming Glee special issue, that she once saved six stray kittens she found on the Paramount Studios lot.

"They probably would have been eaten, so I rescued them," she says. She gave three of the kittens to one of the show's directors, another one to Heather Morris, who plays Brittany, and kept two for herself. Morris named her cat Zach, while Michele named hers Claude and Sheila.

But the rescue efforts didn't end there. Michele tells PEOPLE that during a shoot at a Long Beach, Calif., school, she spotted a dog left tied to a fence. "I made the people at Glee send the dog to the vet, and we had him cleaned up," she says.

The dog, now named Charlie, found a home with Michele's co-star Harry Shum, who plays Mike Chang on the show.

"I'm a really big animal lover," Michele adds. "My mother always said, 'Stand for something, or [you'll] fall for everything.' I feel like [animals] don't have a voice."

'Black Swan' and 'The Wrestler' originally envisioned as one movie
You would think that the only similarity between the gritty redemption tale of "The Wrestler" and the supernatural ballet world thriller "Black Swan" is that they're both directed by Darren Aronofsky. But MTV caught up with the director who revealed that not only do the parallels run much deeper, both films were sprung from an original script idea that he later broke into two films.

"At one point, way before I made 'The Wrestler,' I was actually developing a project that was about a love affair between a ballet dancer and a wrestler, and then it kind of split off into two movies," Aronofsky said, adding "I realized pretty quickly that taking two worlds like wrestling and ballet was much too much for one movie."

And being birthed from the same kernel of an idea, Aronofsky expects audiences to see parallels between the two films. "I've always considered the two films companion pieces," he said. "They are really connected and people will see the connections. It's funny, because wrestling some consider the lowest art — if they would even call it art — and ballet some people consider the highest art. But what was amazing to me was how similar the performers in both of these worlds are. They both make incredible use of their bodies to express themselves."

But if its been a while since you watched "The Wrestler," you could Netflix the film to get re-acquainted or, failing that, perhaps your local arthouse will be compelled to follow up on Aronofksy's dream of both films on a double bill. "....I guess my dream is that some art theater will play the films as a double feature some day." C'mon arthouse programmers, get on this.

"Black Swan" which centers on the relationship between a veteran ballet dancer (Natalie Portman) and a rival, played by Mila Kunis who may or may not be a figment of the dancer's imagination co-stars Winona Ryder, Vincent Cassel, Sebastian Stan and Barbara Hershey. The film will hit TIFF and make its way to theaters on December 1st. Piledrivers not included.

Also, in an interview with OK! Magazine, he called her the “most special person I’ve ever known” and said: “She’s feminine and beautiful and sexy and she’s also probably the most powerful person I’ve ever had the opportunity to know… She and I are very much alike, two fiery people.”
The singer and TV presenter has been with Minnillo, who formerly hosted MTV’s Total Request Live, for four years now.

But Lachey admitted he hasn’t yet popped the question and said: “I’m sure at some point I will get engaged, but not even I know when that moment will be.”
He also didn’t rule out appearing in a reality show based on his relationship with Minnillo, as he did with ex-wife Jessica Simpson in the reality series Newlyweds.

He said: 'There’s nothing in the works right now. I think it would pose a unique set of challenges. I guess the positive is that I’m actually familiar with those challenges. The negative would be I’m also familiar with those challenges.
“It’s hard to say never to anything. You never know.”

'Piranha 3D' Producer Strikes Back At James Cameron

Who’s up for some good old-fashioned, bareknuckle producer fisticuffs? After hearing last weekend that James Cameron was not especially pleased with the work Piranha 3D did with its three-dimensional coed-munchers, Movieline checked in today to see if the film’s producers might want to respond. And did they ever.

You might recall Cameron’s comments last week on, when he told interviewer Mike Ryan:

“I tend almost never to throw other films under the bus, but [Piranha 3D] is exactly an example of what we should not be doing in 3D. Because it just cheapens the medium and reminds you of the bad 3D horror films from the 70s and 80s, like Friday the 13th 3D. When movies got to the bottom of the barrel of their creativity and at the last gasp of their financial lifespan, they did a 3D version to get the last few drops of blood out of the turnip.”

This afternoon, a Piranha 3D rep dropped Canton’s nearly 1,400-word reply over the transom at Movieline HQ:

Memorable Moments of the 2010 Emmy's

Jimmy Fallon with guitar

''NBC asking the host of Late Night to come to Los Angeles to host a different show,'' host Jimmy Fallon talk-sang, while strumming his guitar at the top of the show. ''What could possibly go wrong?'' And the camera cut to Conan O'Brien, who gamely grinned.

But now he's extra cautious when he's out and about - because fans have started to follow him around.

He tells, "I've had to have my car checked for a tracking device - for a stalker. It's been a little interesting. You have to take the good with the bad."

Kick-Ass 2 Officially Greenlit

It was inevitable that Matthew Vaughn's big-screen version of the John Romita Jr. and Mark Millar comic "Kick-Ass" would get the green light for a sequel. Today it's been confirmed apparently by Millar himself on a radio station in the UK who claimed that due to the wonderful DVD sales the sequel is a go.

It's not really a surprise when you think about it. Sure, it didn't perform incredibly well like people thought it would in the box office, but it seemed destined to be one of those comic book flicks that would find it's audience on home video. Since this is all up and running, now it's a matter of the studio bringing back Vaughn and the cast to the new project.

At the moment Matthew Vaughn is in the middle of filming "X-Men: First Class" for 20th Century Fox which acts as a '60s set prequel, out in theaters on June 3rd, 2011. "Kick-Ass" star Aaron Johnson will be appearing next in Sam Taylor-Wood directed film "Nowhere Boy". Chloe Moretz is in the middle of filming her role in Martin Scorsese's "Hugo Cabret" and will be seen in Matt Reeves' "Let Me In" this October 8th.

YAY!! I loved the first one.

My bb Snafu joins "Breaking Dawn;" I jump out window

While Rami Malek celebrated the Outstanding Miniseries win for The Pacific on Emmy night, the actor revealed that he has joined the cast of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Malek will play Benjamin, a member of the “Egyptian Coven” who has the ability to control the elements: water, earth, fire, and air. (“Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony…”)

This won’t be the first time Malek has been tapped for his Egyptian heritage: he played the pharoah Ahkmenrah in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Malek will next be seen in Tom Hanks’ Larry Crowne. Breaking Dawn: Part 1 opens on November 18, 2011, while Part 2 drops a year later on November 16, 2012.

Single greatest film memorabilia lives to see another day

Fans of movie classic GONE WITH THE WIND have raised over $30,000 (GBP20,000) to preserve the costumes from the film.

More than 600 individuals from 44 states and 13 countries have contributed to the effort to preserve five original costumes that are part of the David O. Selznick film collection at the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas.

The outfits, all worn by actress Vivien Leigh, include her character Scarlett O'Hara's burgundy ball gown and wedding dress.

The costumes had been exhibited frequently before they arrived in Austin in the 1980s, and, as a result they were in a fragile condition. At the Ransom Center, the outfits have been kept in humidity and temperature-controlled conditions in acid-free tissue paper.

Film curator Steve Wilson tells WENN, "These generous donations confirm that the film's legions of fans care."

Ambiguous 'Last Exorcism' Ending Causes Controversy

Though the faux-umentary horror flick "The Last Exorcism" raked in a healthy $21 million this past weekend -- landing it a hair's breadth from winning the weekend box office -- the movie seems to have royally ticked off a lot of viewers.

"Exorcism" got a strong start on Friday, but apparent toxic word of mouth led to a striking 24% drop in ticket sales by Saturday night. According to the market research firm CinemaScore, audience members gave the "The Last Exorcism" a D.

So what was the problem? Perhaps it's the film's jarringly abrupt ending. John Young from reported that when he saw "Exorcism," the audience was audibly annoyed when the credits rolled, shouting profanities at the screen. So what was it about the ending that ticked off so many people?

Ryan Gosling Tries To Charm Michelle Williams In EXCLUSIVE 'Blue Valentine' Clip

Ryan Gosling has a hard time getting dates. Or at least that's what movie makers would like us to believe of his characters. For instance, in the seminal Nicholas Sparks flick, "The Notebook," Ryan's Noah Calhoun dangles precariously from a Ferris wheel, risking life and limb, simply to convince Rachel McAdams' Allie Hamilton to accept a date. (We'd never make you go to those lengths, Ryan!) While there are no zipping carnival rides to be found in this exclusive clip from Ryan's upcoming film "Blue Valentine," it does look as though he'll once again have to turn on the Gosling charm to win the girl.

Out December 26, "Blue Valentine" follows married couple Dean (Ryan) and Candy (Michelle Williams) as they attempt to save their marriage by vacationing at a themed hotel. While there, they relive their entire love story. This clip shows where it all began: their first meeting. I don't want to say too much to spoil the scene, so I'll just add that it includes my new favorite pick-up line courtesy of Dean: "I make money—money I can take girls out on dates with. Just so you know." Oh, Ryan, you get us every time!

Nikolai Khabibulin will spend 30 days in jail for his conviction in a drunken-driving case, an Arizona judge ordered Tuesday. Reports indicate Khabibulin, an Edmonton Oilers goalie, has appealed the sentence.

The sentence handed down by Scottdale, Ariz., judge B. Monte Morgan is the minimum allowed by state law. Khabibulin must also complete an alcohol program and pay fines and surcharges of $1,507.60, the Edmonton Journal reports. That program might be handled through the NHL Players' Association.

Movie Billboards Offer "Help For Virgins" And Cause Nationwide Controversy

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A nationwide billboard campaign asking “Still A Virgin? For Help, Call 888-742-4335” is creating controversy in a growing number of cities. TV news stations in Louisiana, Miami, San Diego, and Arizona have so far covered the brouhaha as local politicians demand the billboards' removal. Turns out those huckleberrys are being duped by a flash marketing campaign to create awareness for The Virginity Hit, the "R"-rated feature comedy from Sony Pictures which is secretly sponsoring the billboards. The movie is about three guys who try to get their virgin pal laid and memorialize it on camera. So what happens if you call the phone number? A recorded message from the movie's cast members gives an array of semi-humorous options for virgins, then offers a link to the film’s website.

Such guerrilla marketing campaigns have been employed to great results on The Last Exorcist, Paranormal Activity, Exit Through the Gift Shop, to create awareness despite tiny promotional budgets and no stars.
But this is a major motion picture from a major studio. It'll be interesting to see what blowback there'll be, if any. Laughing all the way to the bank in anticipation already are Gary Sanchez partners Will Ferrell and Adam McKay and Chris Henchy who produced the film with Principato Young’s Paul Young and Peter Principato. The film will be released in college towns on September 10th, with a wider rollout planned for the subsequent two weekends depending if it catches on.

Sam Ronson’s Bulldog to Be Put to Sleep?

Sam Ronson’s Bulldog Might Die Because She Attacked A Puppy!

Sam’s doggie, Cadillac, fought with and accidentally killed a Maltese yesterday -– and now Sam might lose her best friend!

Sam Ronson might be hearing some horrible news soon now that her beloved bulldog, Cadillac, attacked and killed another dog –- a Maltese — in LA yesterday. The LA Department of Animal Care and Control investigating the incident, which could mean that Sam might be charged as a criminal and her pooch might be put to sleep. So sad!

“It’s a pending criminal prosecution. The attack was substantial,” Deputy Director Michelle Roache of the Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control told E! News.

Sam, 33, is so upset that she’s even shipped Cadillac to New York to be away from all the drama – but the distance won’t help to save his life.

“It’s all up to the courts whether or not a person is going to lose the right to own the dog, or that the dog be euthanized, or that there’s restrictions against the dog,” Roache says, adding, “They vary from [sentences where] the person can’t own any dogs in the county of Los Angeles, to the court demanding the dog for euthanasia, or a lot of times they have to pay a fine. I haven’t seen people jailed for an incident like this.”

Investigations like this one can take anywhere from three to four months.

FORBES: Hollywood's most profitable actors

In order to create our list we looked at the top 36 earners in Hollywood. To qualify, each actor had to have starred in at least three movies in the past five years that opened in more than 500 theaters. Movies that opened after June 1 of this year are not counted. We did not include animated films because the actors aren't really the draw and they tend to take pay cuts for voice work.

We then used data gathered for our annual Celebrity 100 list to calculate each star's estimated earnings on each film (including upfront pay and any earnings from the movie's box-office receipts, DVD and TV sales). We then looked at each movie's estimated budget (not including marketing costs, which are susceptible to accounting chicanery) and box-office, DVD and television earnings to figure out an operating income for each film.

We added up each star's compensation on his or her last three films and the operating income on those films and divided total operating income by the star's total compensation to come up with each return on investment number. The final number represents an average of how much a studio earns for every dollar paid to the actor.

Collapse )

So basically, if you're a big enough star to demand a huge salary, it's practically impossible to make the list (with the exception of one pirate). So this list shouldn't be confused with the most bankable actors (because I see no Fresh Prince on this list). Films like Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Transformers, Alice in Wonderland, Marvel superhero movies, etc. have such built-in audiences that some of the actors listed were entirely irrelevant to the success of the film. Eh. Doesn't say much, IMO, other than most of these actors (with the exception of two or three) happened to star in movies that were probably gonna make bank anyways.
