Simon Cowell's plan to take over the charts.

X Factor 2010: Performances will be available to download each week

Simon Cowell has thought of a new way to monetise his X Factor show. The music mogul is reportedly planning to release each performance made on the show this autumn and fans will be able to download the tracks from iTunes.

The plan would see the ITV singing show follow in the footsteps of American Idol. On the hit Fox show, weekly releases of the contestants songs regularly top the iTunes chart, as do live versions of the group performances from the results show.

An insider told The Daily Star that Simon Cowell is hoping to boost the incomes of his flagship show, by releasing the tracks this autumn.

They said:

“Simon is determined to make this year’s show the biggest and the best yet.

“And he knows the best way to do that is by making each week’s live performances available for fans to download.

Mods, PLEASE accept this. I have been working on this for MONTHS. I'm serious.

In 1999, the WB put out a show about alien-human hybrid teenagers living in Roswell, New Mexico, the site of the legendary '47 crash. Alien Max saves human Liz's life after she gets shot in her parents' diner, and the ensuing fight for survival against all sorts of MIBs begins.

I loved this show when I was in high school, and recently re-watched all 3 seasons on DVD. Please enjoy this WHERE ARE THEY NOW? ROSWELL edition MEGAPOAST!!

EXCLUSIVE: Last Minute Change Of Plans For Lindsay Lohan's Rehab

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Lindsay Lohan will not be going to Morningside Recovery, has learned exclusively.

Judge Marsha Revel made the decision after becoming concerned that Lindsay could have drugs snuck into her by the public, a source close to the situation tells us.

"Any decision about her present rehab facility was made without the DA being present.  I have no input in that decision and knew nothing about the change of facility," Deputy D.A. Danette Meyers said in an exclusive interview confirming the dramatic change of plans.

"For further information, please contact Jane Robinson in media relations," Deputy D.A. Meyers said.

Sources close to the situation tell us, "Lindsay will be taken directly to another facility on the Westside of Los Angeles directly after leaving the women's jail in Lynnewood, CA late Sunday night.

"She will have someone from the facility as her escort, and she has to go directly to the facility. Lindsay will be released at 12:01 am," the source said.

TMZ has learned Judge Marsha Revel had a change of heart after TMZ's story about Lindsay's rehab -- and now she is headed for treatment at UCLA Medical Center ... exactly what her doctors wanted in the first place.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

TMZ broke the story Judge Revel had selected Morningside Recovery -- despite the fact that the two court apointed psychiatrists along with other medical professionals were not recommending that facility. The shrinks put UCLA in their top four, but it was the facility favored by everyone because the treatment program was perfectly suited for Lindsay's psychiatric and drug problems.

We're told Lindsay will not be in the psych ward -- rather this is an intense specialized program to deal with psychological as well as addiction problems.

ETA: She was released

Lindsay Lohan has been released from Lynwood Correctional Facility after serving less than two weeks behind bars.
A spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department told photogs gathered outside Lynwood that Lindsay was released at about 1:35 AM. She was taken to UCLA Medical Center to begin her rehab treatment.

Jared Leto 1 - Glasses.

JGL and Bruce Willis in "Looper". SPOILER ALERT: Its plot sounds weird.

A small update from one of my most anticipated projects is much more worthy than vice versa. AICN’s Quint recently sat down with Bruce Willis to talk The Expendables and was able to get some details on Brick and The Brothers Bloom director Rian Johnson‘s next project. Willis will join Inception star Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Looper which is about “hitmen whose victims are sent back in time from the future to be executed. The Loopers bump them off in the present, so there is no trace of a crime in the future.”

Sounds cool if it's done right, but my faith in Bruce is slipping. Joseph Gordon-Levitt normally picks smart roles (except for that icky G.I. Joe movie), but.. I just don't know what to think!

Jennifer Hawkins: "I'm not everyone's cup of tea"

SIX years have passed since Jennifer Hawkins scooped the Miss Universe title and, in that time, much has changed. "I’m not exactly how I was when all of this started," she muses. "I think you get used to a certain lifestyle and want to maintain that."

Nowadays, the former cheerleader drives a top-of-the-range Audi, has a penchant for designer clothes (“I love Gucci and Louis Vuitton”) and enjoys jet-set holidays – flying first-class.

The Newcastle-born model is still warm and friendly, chatting nine to the dozen with the team transforming her from pretty girl to the poised supermodel gracing our cover. What’s more, she’s refreshingly open, and admits she doesn’t try to censor what comes out of her mouth. "People are going to like me, or they’re not. I know I’m not everyone’s cup of tea," she says. "That’s just the way it is."

New Britney single 'in a few weeks'?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

As reported in a previous post, producer Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins had a Ustream session last night where he spilled the beans on the upcoming albums of Beyonce and Britney Spears. He didn’t say much about the Britney album except that he’s been producing for it, which we’ve known about for months. HOWEVER, he also hinted the following: “Britney fans are gonna be so happy in a few weeks” [source]

Seriously, I wish he didn’t do that. Now Britney fans will be in a frenzy about the possibility that she is set to debut her new single at this years VMA Awards. EVERY year, the Pop starlet is rumoured to perform there only for the speculation to be false. But having said that, if he knows something we don’t, Britney fans could very well be in for a nice surprise. Fingers crossed.

Dream Trailers: The 6 Best 'Inception' Parodies

When it comes to fertile territory for parody, "Inception," it turns out, is the dream trailer.

Leonardo DiCaprio's air-of-urgency voiceover. The succinctly simple plot description for a film that is anything but easy. And, to no small effect, Hans Zimmer's distinct synth sounds that pulse and thump-thump like the suspenseful march to an impending crescendo.

The instantly iconic trailer to Christopher "Dark Knight" Nolan's smash hit -- it's been tops at the box office nearly every single day since its July 16 release (including this weekend with $27.5 million domestic) -- has seemingly spawned more mashups than a Hitler meme. Many have come but few must be chosen.

The live-action spoofs have included "Conception" and "Perception," and everything from "Avatar" to "Willy Wonka" is getting incepted with DiCaprio's V.O. But there's one animated-character parody [below] that stands above all. And most mashups can't hold a candle to a good ol' Pixar invocation, though a couple others are quite good.

So here they are, the Six Best "Inception" Parodies this minute. Let the animation domination begin:

Hakuna Matata! Nath Lane joins Modern Family!

Nathan Lane is spending some time with the 'Family' next season.

Lane, star of Broadway and the movies, will play Pepper, a friend of Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) on the ABC series 'Modern Family,' according to the Vulture report. He's described in the report as their "ultraflamboyant" friend, and that's saying something considering the personalities of the outwardly blissful Cam and Mitchell.

Lane is booked for a single episode. Although producers are attempting to keep the guest stars to a minimum in the upcoming season, the Lane spot was too hard to resist, according to the report. "Nathan was just too perfect for the role," said executive producer Steve Levitan.

How will he fit in? An old flame of Mitchell, who seems to go for the big and burly types? A babysitter for Lily? We shall see.

Season two of 'Modern Family' premieres on ABC Weds. Sept. 22 at 9PM ET.

Sanctuary fans dig deep for Charity

So, earlier in the year Amanda Tapping (of SG1 and Sanctuary), Damian Kindler and some other folks started a charity called Sanctuary4Kids. They raise money for smaller charities and special projects around the world.

The Sanctuary Experience, a Sanctuary Convention, was held this weekend in Vancouver with all the proceeds going to Sanctuary4Kids.

So, how'd they do?

Yup, $90 000 in a weekend. Suck on that.

US "IT Crowd" Confirmed...wat

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Have you turned it off and on again?’ An American version of The IT Crowd has been confirmed.

Digital Spy writes that NBC announced in 2007 that it had ordered a six-part remake but had to put the project on hold.

However now the show’s creator Graham Linehan said in a webchat for The Guardian: ‘They’re working on one at the moment. I’m waiting to see the first script. I have encouraged them to do their own thing and not try to slavishly copy the original.’

He added: ‘As long as there’s no hugging, no learning, and big set piece moments, I’ll be happy,’ he said. ‘I don’t even care if they don’t do it in front of an audience. Whatever works for them.

‘But if the show moves too far away from what I consider to be the IT Crowd ‘brand’, I’ll be asking them to change the title.’

When part of the pilot for an intended remake of Spaced surfaced (sacrilege I know…) it was met with pretty much universal contempt, but just look at remakes of other UK sitcoms such as The Office now – far surpassing the original and grooming international stars of the future.

We’ll just have to wait and see before we probe it with our judgemental British fingers.

The fourth series of The IT Crowd came to an end on Friday but a fifth series has already been ordered by Channel 4.

FYI the horribleness that was the 2007 US version of "The IT Crowd" with Joel McHale and my baby daddy Richard Ayoade reprising his role as Moss:

Glee cast, etc. meet The Simpsons

Several members of the "Glee" cast will pull double duty on FOX this fall when they lend their voices to "The Simpsons."

Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Amber Riley will guest-star in the season premiere on Sunday, Sept. 26. The episode, "Elementary School Musical," has Lisa (Yeardley Smith) going to a performing arts camp where the New Directions kids are fellow campers. Even better: Two of the counselors will be voiced by Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, aka Flight of the Conchords.

After returning home, Lisa becomes frustrated with her suburban lifestyle and heads to Sprooklyn where the cool kids live.

Other guest voices for the 22nd season of "The Simpsons" include "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe and "House's" Hugh Laurie, both of whom will be in the annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode. Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, Alyson Hannigan, Rachel Weisz, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and baseball statistical guru Bill James will also guest, as well as the previously announced Jon Hamm.

Martha Stewart will also play herself in a Christmas episode that will feature live-action puppets in addition to the usual animation.

Entourage 705 - Mike Tyson/Jessica Simpson Cameo

Ari's trying his best to keep a few of his clients from jumping ship. On 'Entourage' (Sun., 10:30PM on HBO), Mike Tyson tells him he wants to star in a "black 'Brady Bunch' ... I'm trying to rehab my image. I want to dispense some of this worldly wisdom that I picked up on my journey in life," explains Tyson.

"And then if [your son] Bobby doesn't listen to you -- you bite his ear off," jokes Ari. Mike isn't laughing.

Then Jessica Simpson calls. "Oh, she'd be a hot Carol Brady. Show me you're working for me!" says Tyson. Ari sets to work. Mentioning the death of her beloved dog doesn't go over very well, but how 'bout the chance to play Mike Tyson's wife?

Jessica was surprisingly good in her scenes last night... she plays pissed off better than ditzy.

Real World Homophobia: Preston Charles has a few choice words for homophobic roommate Ryan Leslie

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
If you’ve seen even one episode of the Real World: Back to New Orleans, you probably know that Ryan Leslie and I have been entrenched in a battle that can only be described as guerilla warfare: He rubbed my cigarettes on his hairy posterior; I retaliated by urinating on his $120 toothbrush — not my finest moment, but when you’re thrown into a house full of strangers, well, anything goes, I guess.

To some extent, I initially sympathized with Ryan; honestly, what straight man wants to constantly be called gay? Yes, he styles hair and claims to be a clothing designer. When taken at face value, this makes him gay — at least in the realm of mainstream consciousness and what a large part of society thinks due to long-standing generalizations. Of course, the equal rights movement has made huge strides in the past few decades, but when it comes down to stereotyping and gender roles, those are still alive and well in many places.

But my sympathy was squashed because, despite efforts to connect with and understand the kid, Ryan’s behavior was and remains not only disgusting, but pretty damn hurtful.

My former roommate’s latest bout of homophobia came in the form of a tweet. And this time it wasn’t directed at me, but at a Twitter user, Aurosan, the blogger behind Oh No They Didn’t. It read: “Aurosan, I would love to see you in person and smash you gay f&#* face in.”

Bill Cosby: Not dead, continues to eat Jello Pudding Pops

The Twittersphere is buzzing once again with speculation that Bill Cosby is dead. Tweets and emails began to fly Monday afternoon with questions and reports that the 73-year-old comedian had died.

Despite Internet rumors, there has been no confirmation of Bill Cosby's death. So far, the rumors seem to be just that, as there has been no official report that the beloved Jell-O Spokesman is in fact dead.

Cosby seems to be a favorite among those who start celebrity death rumors on the Web–the same rumor circulated back in March.

As of Friday, Cosby was alive and well, tweeting a telephone joke to his followers. He spent the weekend filming at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Fashion Video Attempts To Sell Suicide As Sexy, Fails.

Ryan McGinely directed this fashion video for the South Korean brand Lewitt in which model Abbey Lee Kershaw plays the part of a woman who kills herself by throwing herself off a building. Three times. In different outfits. So, you know, it’s like a suicidal fashion show. How ... creative. Frockwriter depressingly reports, “it’s worth noting that South Korea has the highest female suicide rate in the OECD,” and adds, “The country’s most high profile modeling export, Daul Kim, committed suicide eight months ago (although not by jumping), part of an alarming new trend of model suicides – most of them by jumping.” Yeah, so, models and suicide. So glamorous. Or, you know, not glamorous at all.

'The Other Guys' Go Unscripted for Moviefone

When 'The Other Guys' stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and director Adam McKay sat down to interview each other, they not only told us what it's like to work with Sam Jackson and insulted the town of Bristol, Connecticut, but also gave us a handy piece of information ... Will Ferrell's ATM PIN number.

The three have no shortage of stories to tell us about their co-stars and crew. Adam admits working with Sam Jackson was "the most afraid I've been to give anyone direction." But he shouldn't feel too bad. Mark is quick to add, "I play golf with Sam and have hung out with him and I'm still kind of scared of him." Jackson isn't the only actor in the film they have strong feelings about. Will admits that when it comes to co-star Steve Coogan, "There is something about that accent ... as soon as he speaks you're like, tell me what you want me to do to you and I'll do it."

Despite all the emotion surrounding their co-stars, it's Martin Scorsese that should be worried. When posed the question "Who would win in a fight between casts of 'The Other Guys' and 'The Departed'?" Adam claims he could take out Scorsese in a brawl, no problem, while Will plans on giving Martin Sheen an elbow to the chops.

Robert Rodriguez 'Deadpool' Rumors Heat Up!

Back in June, reports circulated that Robert Rodriguez was offered the "Deadpool" movie starring Ryan Reynolds in the title role. Although Rodriguez confirmed to MTV News at Comic-Con that he had read an early draft of the script, further information has been hard to come by... until now.

According to The Los Angeles Times, discussions between Fox and Rodriguez have advanced "beyond the casual discussion stage" and have moved on to negotiating deal points. If Rodriguez does agree to direct "Deadpool," it would be after he finishes "Spy Kids 4."

Earlier this year, "Zombieland" screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick signed on to write the script for "Deadpool." Shortly thereafter, Reynolds revealed to MTV News that he was collaborating with the duo to capture the tone of the original "Deadpool" comics.

When asked by MTV News what he thought about the "Deadpool" script by Reese and Wernick, Rodriguez said "it was really good."

"[Reynolds] had some really great ideas," continued Rodriguez. "I liked his ideas and his passion for that project."

Also at Comic-Con, Reynolds reaffirmed his commitment to the project and emphatically stated his belief that Deadpool is not a superhero.

"First off, Deadpool is not a superhero and he would stab you in the thorax if he heard you say that," said Reynolds. "I don't think I've ever said anything geekier than that in my entire life."

Star of the Future Best Picture Oscar Winner 'Step Up 3D' in Da Man Magazine

Rick Malambri is gearing up for the release of his latest film, "Step Up 3D!"

Here’s what the actor and Da Man cover model had to share:

On his character in the film: “In 'Step Up 3D,' I play a character named Luke Katcher, who is an aspiring film director inspired by dance. The film follows Luke, and a group of dancers—which he lives with—on a journey to win a huge underground dance battle that could possibly save them from some troubles they have found themselves in. It’s a high-energy film packed full of dance, with a nice heartfelt story involved.”

On his favorite hobbies: “I am a huge surfer. I have been surfing since I was a kid growing up in Florida. Apart from that, I am also a really big nerd. I’ve been a computer geek since the age of seven, when I got my first computer. It was a 386DXII. It was then that I fell in love for the first time. I spent so many hours on that thing. At the age of 11 I built my first computer and started to learn how to do my art on the computer, along with other things, like writing code and designing. It is still something that I truly enjoy.”

On the tattoos that he has: “The tattoo on my left forearm is an astrological sign for Scorpio; an ‘M’ shape with a scorpion tail on the end, which represents my astrological sign as well as my last name. There is also a Japanese-style wave surrounding it, representing Scorpio as a water sign because I grew up in the water surfing. And it is something that truly represents me. The tattoo on my right arm is the Korean letters that spell love.”

Steve Carell & Sandra Bullock Attached to Star in "The Abstinence Teacher" Adaptation

Steve Carell is fresh off the weekend opening of "Dinner for Schmucks" and now Production Weekly is reporting (via The Playlist) that he may be reuniting with some of his old pals for an upcoming gig. "Little Miss Sunshine" producers Albert Berger, Ron Yerxa and Polly Johnsen are prepping an adaptation of Tom Perrotta's 2007 book "The Abstinence Teacher." It was originally announced with directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris attached to helm back in 2006, a few months after their "Sunshine" released. Now it's back with no mention of Dayton/Faris but the "Sunshine" producers on board... and high-profile talents Carell and Sandra Bullock set to star.

Book Synopsis

Ruth Ramsey is the human sexuality teacher at the local high school. She believes that "pleasure is good, shame is bad, and knowledge is power." Ruth's younger daughter's soccer coach is Tim Mason, a former stoner and rocker whose response to hitting rock bottom was to reach out and be saved. Tim belongs to The Tabernacle, an evangelical Christian church that doesn't approve of Ruth's style of teaching. And Ruth in turn doesn't applaud The Tabernacle's mission to take its message outside its doors.

Adversaries in a small-town culture war, Ruth and Tim instinctively mistrust each other. But when a controversy on the soccer field pushes the two of them to actually talk to each other, they are forced to take each other at something other than face value.

The Abstinence Teacher exposes the powerful emotions that run beneath the surface of modern American family life and explores the complex spiritual and sexual lives of ordinary people.

FYI, the author, Tom Perrotta, also wrote LITTLE CHILDREN, which was adapted into the 2006 film starring Kate Winslet and Jennifer Connelly.

Balthazar Getty exits 'Brothers & Sisters'

The Walker clan will be down another family member when Brothers & Sisters kicks off its fifth season this fall. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Balthazar Getty—who appeared in a reduced number of episodes last season—will not be returning to the show.

Per a B&S source, Getty’s departure was a creative decision. I’m told Tommy’s absence will be explained in the Sept. 26 premiere—which picks up one year after the tragic events of the May finale.

Getty’s exit brings to three the number of major cast members not returning this season. As you know, Rob Lowe (Robert) and Emily VanCamp (Rebecca) are moving on as well, although VanCamp will be back for a handful of episodes to wrap up her storyline.

Fat critics said Selena Gomez wasn't talented

If you thought it was easy for Disney stars like Selena Gomez to pick up their own show and land a record deal, you were wrong.

According to Gomez, critics had a hard time accepting her as a serious actor. Though she got her start at age seven on "Barney & Friends" and occasionally guest starred on other Disney shows like "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" and "Hannah Montana," she claims no one took her seriously and doubted that she would get anywhere.

"I’ve had people tell me that I would never have my own show," she told The New York Daily News, "that I wasn't talented or strong enough, and I've had a bunch of people criticize my music and my personal style and everything."

Today, Gomez is on her way to wrapping up her own Emmy Award-winning show, "Wizards of Waverly Place," and just starred in a movie, "Ramona and Beezus," which soaked up generally positive reviews from even the top movie critics.

Roger Ebert called Gomez's performance in "Ramona and Beezus" "appealing," while calling the movie a "featherweight G-rated comedy of no consequence."

"Being business-minded so young is more about being passionate with the things that you love," she explains.

Critics might be eating their words now that Gomez has made it big, but were they right in the first place, or did Gomez just get lucky?

Selena: Savior

Saint Selena being humble and inspirational in NY Daily News

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Selena Gomez has accomplished more in her 18 years than most people pull off in 70. The teenage beauty has already appeared in three television movies, released a debut album, which was certified gold, and produced her own Kmart clothing line. Now the star of Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" takes to the big screen as Beezus Quimby in the cinematic adaptation of author Beverly Cleary's classic "Ramona and Beezus."

In your new movie, you play the older sister, Beezus. Could you relate to the character?
I think every teenage girl understands what Beezus is going through. She is very responsible and I admire that. When I was younger I always wanted to please my parents. I wanted to come home with an amazing drawing or amazing painting or something and say, "Are you proud of me?" This family is very similar to my family. The kids want to impress the parents and the parents are going to say they love what their kids create even if it's the ugliest thing.

What's your advice for young New Yorkers who want to become movie stars?
You have to be passionate. The amount of negativity in this business brings you down so much that you have to love it to do it. Fortunately, I love my music, my show, my fans and my clothing line. My passion makes everything worth it despite the negativity.

New Medal of Honor trailer features new Linkin Park single

An all-new Medal of Honor gameplay/live action trailer directed by Linkin Park's Joe Hahn. The trailer features never-before-seen in-game footage set to the band's first single 'The Catalyst' from their soon to be released album, A Thousand Suns.

For the first time in its 11-year history, Medal of Honor leaves the WWII theatre and enters the modern setting of war-torn Afghanistan. The game is told through the lens of a small band of fictional characters. Medal of Honor introduces players to the Tier 1 Operator, an elite warrior and relatively unknown instrument of the U.S. Military that operates under the National Command Authority to take on missions no one else can handle.

A Thousand Suns is set to drop on September 14 and the single premiered worldwide on radio today.

She said her husband, Joe, kept her in the dark about the severity of their financial situation. Being the traditional Italian wife she claims to be, we can actually see that happening. Finances tend to be the man's domain in "traditional" homes.
But, we can't help, but be alarmed by the many excuses the housewife makes for their bankruptcy now that she has been totally uploaded, especially when the court papers are publicly available.
On why they claimed bankruptcy: Teresa says they owned four apartment buildings and their tenants were hit hard by the economic slowdown. Without the rent, she says, they couldn't pay their mortgage on the buildings.

Moriarty cast for Sherlock Holmes sequel

Daniel Day-Lewis has signed up to battle Robert Downey, Jr. in the upcoming Sherlock Holmes sequel, according to a U.K. report.

Speculation about who will play the supersleuth's nemesis Professor Moriarty has been rife ever since Guy Ritchie announced plans to bring Holmes back to the big screen following last year's adaptation.

Brad Pitt was rumoured to be in the running to take on the role for the follow-up, but a new report suggests Ritchie has hired Day-Lewis to tackle Downey, Jr.'s Holmes in the next film.

Britain's The Sun claims the Oscar-winner has agreed to star in the currently untitled movie, which is expected to hit cinemas next year.

Charlie St. Cloud: "The religio-kitsch version of a TV tragedy-of-the-week."

Zac Efron may be the prettiest young actor in movies today — he's like a preppy update of Shaun Cassidy in his teen-dream prime — but he also demonstrates that looks will get you only so far. As the title golden boy of Charlie St. Cloud, Efron plays a small-town competitive sailor whose beloved little brother, Sam (Charlie Tahan), gets killed in a car crash. (Charlie was at the wheel.)

It doesn't take long to figure out that Charlie dies too — at least in spirit. Instead of heading off to Stanford to realize his dream of becoming a sailing champion, he stays home, going to work at the local graveyard. He's so ruled by guilt and despair that he imagines he's talking to ghosts — like that of his late brother, whom he ''keeps alive'' by meeting him every day at the exact same clearing in the woods to play baseball.

The surreal thing is, Zac Efron can't do despair. He plays it by staring. Blankly. And by not smiling. Blankly. Those sky blue eyes of his may be moody, but in Charlie St. Cloud they have only one mood — a fake-profound, lost-idol tranquillity. Instead of making you weep, he puts you in a coma. Charlie St. Cloud is as wholesome as a Miley Cyrus movie, only without the energy. It's like the religio-kitsch version of a TV tragedy-of-the-week.

Charlie starts to hang out with a girl tailor-made for him (Amanda Crew, who's like a text-generation Anne Hathaway), but he can't be with her until he lets go of the past and says goodbye to his ghosts. Efron, you can tell, is trying to get beyond his past, but one or two more movies like this one and High School Musical 4 will be beckoning. C-

A Justin Bieber movie is happening

Deadline New York reports that Paramount has made a deal to make a 3D Justin Bieber biopic. You heard right, a 3D biographical film. Even more surprising/confusing is that Davis Guggenheim, director of the Oscar-winning AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, is planning to direct. Really Davis? Really?

From Deadline:
The film doesn't have a title, but Bieber will play himself in the film. The pic will be sprinkled with performances from his current concert tour. The film will come out February 11, 2011 on Valentine's Day weekend.

There is so much about this deal I don't understand. Why is Davis Guggenheim directing? Why Valentine's Day? Why 3D? Why, why, why?

To be honest, it makes sense. Valentine's Day has become quite the marketable holiday and Justin Bieber will bring in lots and lots (and lots) of money. I can already see the fangirls camping out in front of theaters.

Well at least we know what we'll all be doing this Valentine's Day. Forget taking your love to a fancy restaurant, take him/her to see 3D Bieber on the big screen! That'll bode well for your love life.

Arrested Development Script Halfway Done Apparently

I half suspect that if the movie news sphere ever goes six months without ‘reporting’ on the nascent Arrested Development movie, the entire internet will collapse upon itself. So in the interest of digital safety, here’s the latest in a series of half-updates that now spans several years. We’ve heard for some time that Mitch Hurwitz was about to start writing the film, and that he was working on it. Now Hurwitz is teasing fans with a tiny bit of actual info.

At the Television Critics Awards, AD creator and principal shepherd Mitch Hurwitz said,

"We're writing it; we’re halfway through…The reason I’ve been so cagey is fans have been so [eager about it]. I really want to do it…It’s not going to be a big money maker…It’s going to be fun, like a family reunion. The only stumbling block could be scheduling. Everybody wants to play together."

Hurwitz declined a request to offer up a logline or title, which is probably for the best. Knowing the script is partially written and that the creator still has a passion for the story is enough to set off a wave of speculation about the film. Having any more incomplete info would just lead to crazy speculation.

As far as the idea of scheduling and everyone playing together goes, I can’t wait to see how Hurwitz and Fox Searchlight lure everyone into the same room at the same time. For a lot of films with large casts that might not be such a problem, as many of the actors could be brought in at different times as their schedules allowed. But a trademark of AD was having the ensemble cast all together in big scenes with overlapping jokes and dialogue threads. Everyone will really need to be in the same place at once to make this feel like a continuation of the show.

Rachel Bilson’s OC Nostalgia

Rachel Bilson has admitted she misses working on US TV drama series 'The O.C.' and wishes she saw more of her former co-stars.

Rachel Bilson misses working on 'The O.C.'.

The 28-year-old actress - who rose to fame playing Summer Roberts in the American teen drama series -had a "phenomenal" time working on the show, which ran for four seasons until February 2007, and misses working with her co-stars Mischa Barton, Adam Brody and Benjamin McKenzie.

She said: "I do miss Summer terribly. 'The O.C.' was the most phenomenal time. I saw Mischa at Cannes, but I honestly miss everyone from the show."

The actress believes she has been able to avoid Hollywood trouble because she was 21 when she first appeared in the show - whereas her co-star Mischa was just a teenager.

She explained: "I do fall out of cars, but not because I am drunk, but because I am clumsy. I think the girls who come to fame younger fall into all that partying, but I did it before I became famous. I mean I was 21 when 'The OC' started, Mischa was 16. I can't imagine dealing with that kind of success at that age. My life may have been very different if I had started out that young."

I MISS IT TOO ): I've been watching The Complete Series DVD's during the Summer, wish it would come back someday...

Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver coming to a theater near you.

Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver have joined Henry Cavill (The Tudors) in the thriller The Cold Light of Day. Directed by Mabrouk El Mechri (the excellent JCVD), the story (per Variety) “centers on a young American whose family is kidnapped while on a vacation to Spain. He’s left with only hours to find them, uncover a government conspiracy and the connection between their disappearance and his father’s secrets.“ Cavill will play the young American and I presume that Willis will play the father.

Willis is currently attached to the action-movie/video game adaptation Kane & Lynch with Jamie Foxx, the indie crime drama Catch .44, Antoine Fuqua’s prison escape drama The Tomb, and Rian Johnson’s sci-fi flick Looper with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He’ll next be seen as a cameo in The Expendables and as the lead in the action movie Red. As for Weaver, she’s equally busy as she’s co-starring in the thrillers Abduction and Red Lights, and Amy Heckerling’s Vamps. She’ll next be seen in the sci-fi comedy Paul with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as well as the Kristen Bell romantic comedy You Again. The Cold Light of Day is set to begin filming on September 6th.

Convincing Lady Gaga To Do Anal Might Be Easier Than You Thought!

Lady Gaga Talks Vagina with Vanity Fair

Lady Gaga opens up about avoiding sex in the September 2010 issue of Vanity Fair. Check it:

On being afraid of depleting her creative energy:
I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina… I’m perpetually lonely. I’m lonely when I’m in relationships. It’s my condition as an artist… I’m drawn to bad romances. And my song ‘Bad Romance’] is about whether I go after those [sort of relationships] or if they find me. I’m quite celibate now; I don’t really get time to meet anyone.

On reaching an all-time low when she used drugs:
I was completely mental and had just been through so much. I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don’t want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It’s in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster… All I will say is I hit rock bottom, and it was enough to send a person over the edge. My mother knew the truth about that day, and she screamed so loud on the other end of the phone, I’ll never forget it. And she said, ‘I’m coming to get you.’

On giving the middle finger during a Yankees game:
I guess I was my true New York 24-year-old Italian girl who grew up here and how dare you set me up? I want to go to things like ball games, but when I go to the ball game, they’re going to write the story that will sell papers. Look, I’m not an idiot—I recognize that I’m a public figure and I’m going to be recognized if I’m wearing a bikini or a potato sack. The trade-off is I get to see the Yankees, and what the Yankees mean to me in my soul as a young person from New York is more important to me than my reputation in terms of the tabloids. My real fans know who I truly am, and they know what I represent and what I mean, and my music and my performance is what really speaks. (Jerry Seinfeld called her a jerk after the incident.)

Snooki gets a court date as more arrest details creep out

After getting arrested last Friday (July 30), "Jersey Shore's" Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi will have her day in court to face charges of disorderly conduct.
According to CNN, Snooki will make her first appearance in municipal court on August 18 at 9:00 a.m. ET.
The charge doesn't carry any jail time, but she can be fined anywhere between $250 and $1,000.
Seaside Heights police chief, Thomas Boyd, says Snooki was arrested on the beach Friday at 3:30 p.m. and released roughly a few hours later with a court summons.
A few more details surrounding Snooki's arrest have surfaced over the weekend. According to reports, the police were notified after the guidette was seen falling over people and being her typically sweet self (read: a nuisance) at the Jersey's Fremont Avenue Beach. The police came not to arrest Snooki, but to escort her off the beach.
When she acted the fool as the police tried to escort her from the beach, she was then charged with disorderly conduct. Observers say she appeared intoxicated when she was arrested.
The arrest came a day after the series premiere scored record ratings with more than 5-million viewers tuning in to the Thursday broadcast on MTV.

FLAWLESS POST: Diablo Gody, Jason Godman, and Charlize Godron Unite

We read Diablo Cody's "Young Adult" script earlier this year and called it potentially her most "mature effort to date" (it also feels like a very personal work).

The Academy Award-winner's third screenplay centers on a divorced author of teen fiction who returns to her hometown to chase her ex-high school boyfriend, who’s now married with a kid. Mandate Pictures acquired the rights to the project in March, which Cody herself described the film as a story about a woman who is "stalking her high-school sweetheart. It has elements of humor, but it's pretty serious and fucked up."

Now Deadline -- who is on fire this week -- says Charlize Theron is attached to play the narcissistic '30-something in the film. The director? We wrote when we reviewed the script:

In some ways, it's somewhat not far off the tone of Robert Siegel's "Big Fan," which is humorous and dark, but obviously from a largely different female perspective (don't get too hung up on that, they're different things). Someone who does come to mind could be Jason Reitman, but he's obviously off doing his own thing now.

That something else we assumed was Reitman's adaptation of Joyce Maynard's "Labor Day," which has looked like the frontrunner for the director's next gig, but Deadline says that production on this film will start in November and if all goes according to plan (deal points and what not), Reitman will be in the directing chair; we didn't see that one coming.

This is a good move all around. "Young Adult," is pretty ugly script at times and the character is not at all sympathetic; everyone will be stretching here. The film has a dark, twisted tone and it really puts up a mirror to us 30-somethings who are still struggling to grow up. Pretty exciting news frankly. Reitman does seem a good fit for the material. If you want in-depth information, feel free to read our review. It's detailed, but not spoiler-ish. Don't forget producers of this film Brad William Henke ("Choke") is perfect for role of the protagonists crippled friend who's the only one not afraid to call her out on her shit.

Several studios are interested and we'd imagine one will bite soon enough, though if they stick to the script, this is a good, hard-to-swallow drama, not necessarily a fun money-maker or twee fest like, "Juno." The main trick of this piece will be to not make the protagonist too ugly, otherwise, who's going to watch this film? That said, you pretty-fy the whole thing and it will tumble apart. Reitman did a pretty decent job calibrating that kind of tone with George Clooney's asshole character in "Up In The Air," but this one will be a very tough act to balance.

Lauren Conrad is ugly

I mean, those glasses? That ponytail?

..but seriously, this sequence of pics reminds me of that comedy where Chris Evans and his sister show up to the “ugly” girl’s house to do a makeover. They take off her glasses and let down her ponytail—and that’s it. She’s a knockout. Then she falls through the stairs.

Lauren's fugly ass will be launching a new higher price line.

Lauren Conrad debuted her first signature line back in 2007 and most recently teamed up with Kohl’s on the successful LC by Lauren Conrad Collection, and now she’s taken her design repertoire to the next level—announcing plans to debut a contemporary fashion line with her best friends. But don’t expect the new line to have the same look—or pricing—as her Kohl’s collection. Conrad told the women’s line will have “more specialty basics, [it will be] more of a boutique line. It will be at a higher price point.” The collection is still in the beginning stages, but we’re sure Conrad’s hard work (and stylish eye) will pay off: “There is a little more thrill is doing it on your own. It’s a lot more work, it’s a lot more stressful, but it’s something I love doing.”

Michelle Trachtenberg: Stop Calling Me Fat!

The striking actress doesn’t want her fans to get the wrong message, and I couldn’t agree more!

We got to catch up with actress Michelle Trachtenberg at week two of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge on Jul. 31 at Blue Star Jets field in Bridgehampton, where she took a break from filming Gossip Girl and openly expressed her frustration over being called fat — and considering how great the actress looked, wearing a flowing floral Rebecca Taylor maxi dress standing in the shade while attendees mingled at the SWAGG Moblie Application lounge, I don’t blame her! “Look at me,” she said while grabbing both sides of her teeny waist, “Tell me, where am I fat?”

Honestly, I couldn’t agree with her more! I’ve seen her in person at multiple events and Michelle is a thin girl with a nice figure — I think it’s ridiculous that her body is constantly under scrutiny! The down to Earth star said at the end of the day, it’s all about how it effects her fans. “It isn’t even about me, it’s about the message it sends to normal girls,” she said. “Some girl in Middle America is gonna pick up [a tabloid] and say, ‘Oh Michelle is my favorite actress and they think she’s fat, what does that say about me?’”

The actress even recalled a time the tabloids took it to far and went after her family! “One time they even called my mom fat,” she said, saying how much that upset her. “It’s one thing when it’s about me, but that’s my mom.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m so happy the articulate actress is trying to send a positive message to her fans — especially with the slew of celebs who seem to be withering away! What do you think?

Corin Tucker spends most of her debut solo album, 1,000 Years, trying to distance herself from the shadow of her former band. It’s not an easy task: Sleater-Kinney was, in the words of renowned rock critic Greil Marcus, “America’s best rock band” before it went on indefinite hiatus in 2006. But while many songs on 1,000 Years feature acoustic guitars, brushed drums, and even cello, “Doubt” harkens back to Tucker’s early days as a screamer, and it’s a welcome return to form.

“Doubt” is also the perfect choice for a first single: it’s more driving and, well, loud than most of the album, and a solid entry point for Sleater-Kinney fans. Tucker begins singing in a newly measured, mature voice before she lets her trademark pipes wail all over the blues-y midsection. Though “Doubt” starts off a litte tepid it really picks up after the handclaps and organ enter halfway through. “Break up with the boogie/Break up with the beat,” she sings, summarizing her last few years, where she stuck to raising her two kids instead of writing new rock songs. But it’s the next line that really tells you everything you need to know. “But I can’t just forget what it means to me,” she sings. “I tried, I tried/ But I couldn’t leave.” Welcome back, Corin. I’ll never forget you.

Corin Tucker Band- Doubt- Mods- This has been made available for official download from the band but I can't find it embeddable anywhere.

I've already listened to this probably 7 or 8 times in the last 35 minutes. PERFECT first single, and it makes me even more psyched (if possible) for the record. Oh, Corin! How I've missed you!

Trailer for 'Reign of Assassins' with Michelle Yeoh

Reign of Assassins, coming this fall to theaters, is a martial arts action flick featuring Michelle Yeoh as a deadly woman on a dangerous mission.

Directed by Chao-Bin Su and John Woo based on Chao-Bin Su's script, Reign of Assassins falls under that category of awesome recent innovative martial arts films like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in which women possess deadly powers and are never to be underestimated. There's also a fantastical setting to the story - mythical historical China, which is filled with monks, warriors, religion, kings, and romance.

The official synopsis: A skilled assassin finds herself on a quest to carry the mystical remnants of a Buddhist monk through China. A team of deadly assassins follow her, placing her in a fight for her life as she attempts to put the power-wielding secret of the monk to rest.

Apparently, Michelle Yeoh's character is retired and is only called out to fight because of some secret in her past. The movie co-stars Woo-sung Jung, Barbie Hsu, Kelly Lin, Wang Xue Qi, Shawn Yu, Paw Hee Ching, and John Woo’s daughter Angeles and still has no official release date yet from Weinstein. We'll keep you posted!

How JGL's scene in "Inception" unintentionally screwed with James McAvoy in "X-Men: First Class"

And I [Vaughn] think there will be comparisons a little bit with X-Men: First Class. It’s very similar, in a way. But we’re doing some cool stuff in this movie, some really cool stuff that you haven’t seen before.” But, as LA Times reports, Vaughn recently saw Christopher Nolan‘s Inception and some of that “really cool stuff” will have to go.

The Real Runaways: Still Rockin' 30 Years Later

Currie and Jett

The Runaways, the biopic about the groundbreaking all-girl rock band starring Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart, just opened this weekend – and PEOPLE caught up with real-life members to catch up on their lives 30 years after their split.

Best known for hits like "Cherry Bomb" and "Queens of Noise" and controversy-courting style in the days when rock music was dominated by men, the band became an international sensation, inspiring countless artists who followed.

"People would say, 'Girls can't play rock 'n' roll,' because socially, rock 'n' roll is sexual and that was threatening to a wide majority of people," says Joan Jett, who was 16 when she co-founded The Runaways.

Adds Lita Ford: "We were before our time. Lady Gaga, Beyoncé – even though they're not [musically] like us, we led the path for a lot of women in the industry."

On the new Kings of Comedy

"We think everybody will love to wear stuff like that. Our clothes will have lots of bold colour and cool patterns," they tell The Sun.

Manager Louis Walsh has reportedly been in discussions with high street fashion stores about the line.
And their foray into fashion doesn't stop there - the boys might just end up modelling their own designs too.

"We're signed to Next Models so we have experience. We know how to pose and walk, plus we've worked with some big-name photographers," says Edward.

Kate Moss: UK Vogue

Obviously, Kate will not be kept off of a September Issue, nabbing them yearly, this one being the cover girl for UK Vogue. It’s absolutely very Kate, shot by Patrick Demarchelier and I need to get it. I’m reading random thoughts about how it’s the same-old Kate, but I feel that’s the point. She has a very definitive personal style and image, that’s why she’s such a successful model for over 20 years now. She’s my love. My only concerns is the “Minimal Chic” headline. Well, all of them are bad, but this one in particular better be talking about a separate editorial that doesn’t include Burberry and Balmain, because that would be the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. That would be like saying Lindsay Lohan is a quaint, quiet, girl-next-door who always did well in school and thought sex was best left for after marriage. Right, crazy talk. I’m sure that editorial, if I could place bets, will include a lot of Celine. Ready, Philo-atics?!

'Supernatural' to reference 'Twilight'

Supernatural showrunner Sera Gamble has revealed that an upcoming episode of the show's sixth season will poke fun at the Twilight franchise.

She told TV Guide that other popular vampire series such as True Blood and The Vampire Diaries will also be referenced in the instalment, which is provisionally titled 'Live Free or Twi-Hard'.

"We're doing an episode about how vampires pretending to be Edward Cullen or the Salvatore brothers or Bill Compton are bad for you," she explained.

Gamble revealed that the episode will explore the current romantic fascination with vampires, popularised by Twilight and similar brands.

"Chicks are just throwing themselves at them!" she joked. "They think that 'vampire' equals 'I'm not going to try to have sex with you'. They will still take advantage of our children! They will turn you into a vampire or eat you."

Supernatural returns to The CW on September 24.

Abstinence, Pop, And Ronald Regan

Nick Jonas & Jordin Sparks Rev Up for Ronald

Yet, another thing Jordin Sparks and Nick Jonas have in common — they’re both big fans of former President Ronald Reagan.

So big, in fact, that they’re teaming up to co-chair The National Youth Leadership Committee of the Ronald Reagan Centennial Celebration.

The committee includes athletes, entertainers and student leaders who are under age 25. They have all been inspired in a personal way by Reagan’s vision and the committee will honor Reagan’s 100th birthday on February 6th.

Pretty cool!

For shame, Nick. FOR SHAME! I vow to  never fap to any of your pictures again. That is until you're legal, which is in 2 months. Going to be hard two months!

Hit Men
By Greg Archer
James Roday and Dulé Hill have a comedic chemistry that’s right on target.

There is no doubt that onscreen, James Roday and Dulé Hill are one of those rare Hollywood duos that can capture lightning in a bottle. Jackie Gleason and Art Carney (The Honeymooners) did it. Jack Klugman and Tony Randall (The Odd Couple) harnessed it, too. And, to a wilder degree, so did Eric McCormack and Sean Hayes (Will & Grace). But grill the stars of the smash USA Network hit, Psych, about what they feel is the magic ingredient to creating one of the hottest teams on television today, and they’ll both agree it’s all about respect and friendship.

“I think we clicked real quick,” Roday says of his connection with Hill. “We have this very natural chemistry together.”

Hill agrees. “I also think we both respect each other as artists.”

But if their current success is rooted in their friendship, then the key to their tight friendship must be humor.

“James is a great actor and his comedic timing is unsurpassed right now,” Hill muses. “He’s up there with Steve Carell.”

Anya Jenkins Comes to The CW

Emma Caulfield is coming back to the small screen on "Life Unexpected," the CW confirms to Zap2it. She will be playing a recurring character named Emma who works at Baze's father's (Robin Thomas) investment firm.

Fans of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" will remember Caulfield from her five seasons as Anya, the outspoken Vengeance Demon and Xander's girlfriend/ditched bride-to-be. She died a hero's death in the series finale, saving dopey Andrew (Tom Lenk) and sacrificing herself.

Since Caulfield will be working for Mr. Bazile, one would think we'd be seeing much more of him as well. Hopefully that means the show will explore more of the Baze-father relationship, which was one of the main sources of tension in the first season. We also wonder if Caulfield would possibly be a romantic interest for Baze (Kristoffer Polaha)? The cliffhanger saw him interrupt Cate and Ryan's wedding but to what end?

"Life Unexpected" premieres Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. on the CW

Lindsay Lohan 'Very Upset' She Didn't See Family Before Rehab

Source: Lindsay Lohan 'Very Upset' She Didn't See Family Before Rehab Lindsay Lohan is out of jail – but she isn't happy.

"Lindsay is very upset that the judge ordered her to go straight to rehab," a source tells PEOPLE.

The actress, 24, was released from a Lynwood, Calif., jail early Monday morning after serving 13 full days of a 90-day sentence for violating probation in a DUI case. She was directly sent to rehab at UCLA Medical Center, where she is required to complete a three-month inpatient stint, according to Judge Marsha Revel's sentencing order.

Though her mom Dina and younger sister Ali met up with Lohan at UCLA on Monday, "[Lindsay] feels that she deserved to spend a day with her family after she behaved well in jail," says the source.

Lohan, the source adds, is feeling "depressed." "[She] is having a difficult time accepting that she will be in rehab for the next three months," the source says. "She still doesn't think that she needs any help."
