Time for some REAL MUSICIAN news

Damon Albarn has revealed that the recording sessions for Gorillaz's latest album, Plastic Beach, produced approximately 80 songs — enough for two sequel albums.

"Theoretically there is a part two and part three of Plastic Beach if we ever felt motivated to spend another few years finishing it," Albarn said in an interview with Spinner.

He added, "But because it's so eclectic, it takes a long time to actually get a picture because we don't start with a picture or an idea. We start with a very loose idea of Plastic Beach, which, you know, probably means something different to me than it does to Jamie [Hewlett], but we evolve."

The band, who played two London Roundhouse shows last week, also recently performed as a headliner at the Coachella Festival in California.

In addition to their work in Gorillaz, Albarn and Hewlett are also collaborating with comic writer Alan Moore on an opera about the life of 16th century royal advisor John Dee.

This married couple is still married but it is pretty much for show. She is an A list singer who drags her husband out of the house for shopping and things. The only reason she is keeping him around is because she has a new album coming out and doesn't want to talk about marriage. She doesn't wear her wedding ring even when they are out together. She makes him sleep in the guest house or at his friends. Meanwhile she has "friends" who come stay with her. (CDAN)

James Franco To Be Teaching Assistant At Yale

James Franco has played a spaced out stoner, a jealous rich boy and a Hollywood icon, but the actor’s favorite role is being a student.

"I love school," Franco told PEOPLE at the Tribeca Film Festival screening of his directorial debut, the documentary Saturday Night, in New York Sunday. "I go to school because I love being around people who are interested in what I’m interested in and I’m having a great experience."

The Pineapple Express star, 32, graduated from UCLA with an undergraduate degree in English in June 2008. He also enrolled in an MFA writing program at New York's Columbia University, and is now studying filmmaking at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

"I’m studying things that I love so it’s not like it’s a chore," says Franco.

In fact, he may be a bit of an overachiever. What began as a seven-minute school project for his MFA program grew into a 93-minute feature documentary that follows the making of a 2008 episode of Saturday Night Live hosted by John Malkovich.

With his film completed, Franco isn't worried about his final grade. "I think I passed," he says, laughing.

With hit films like Spider-Man and Milk under his belt, why does the actor limit his movie roles in order to attend classes?

"School is a way to take my other pursuits like directing and writing seriously, " he says. "I could go out and make movies and direct movies having not gone to school, but being at school I’m in touch with incredible teachers, incredible writers who are in an environment where they are solely focused helping people in becoming a better director, writer. At film school I know that the feedback is real and honest and only makes you a better filmmaker."

Franco is continuing his studies and has been accepted to Yale for a Ph.D. program in English. There he hopes to be teaching in the fall as a TA.

Sam Rockwell Joins Cowboys and Aliens

Sam Rockwell will be re-teaming with Iron Man 2 Made director Jon Favreau, joining the cast of Cowboys and Aliens. Written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley, the story takes place in the Old West, where “settlers and Native Americans wage a bloody battle for control of the land. But when the Earth is threatened by conquerors from the stars, these sworn enemies must work together to save all humanity.”

HeatVision reports that Rockwell will play a bar owner named Doc who joins in the pursuit of the aliens. The role was originally written as a heavy set man, but the part was rewritten and expanded after Rockwell showed interest. Rockwell is one of the biggest surprises and best parts of Favreau’s Iron Man 2.

First Trailer for George Clooney Thriller "The American"

Focus Features has debuted the first trailer for The American over on Yahoo, which wisely features star George Clooney doing shirtless situps for the ladies, and a variety of guns for the inferior gender (mine!). Anton Corbijn (Control) directed this adaptation of the Martin Booth novel A Very Private Gentleman, which depicts an aging assassin (Clooney) who vows the next assignment will be his last.

The clip establishes a very tense atmosphere and highlights some great imagery (I love the aerial view of the serpentine road) in its 1:30 running time. All in all, there’s plenty to look forward to with this one.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Alone among assassins, Jack is a master craftsman. When a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he vows to his contact Larry that his next assignment will be his last. Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde, is in the offing as a weapon is constructed. Surprising himself, Jack seeks out the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto and pursues romance with local woman Clara. But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.

The American is slated for a limited release starting September 1, 2010.

Patti Smith To Artists: Don't Come To New York

Musician and author Patti Smith had some sound advice for fledgling artists thinking of moving to New York: don't.

According to Vanishing New York, in a discussion with writer Jonathan Lethem at Cooper Union on Saturday, Smith was asked if it was possible for young artists to come to the city and find the path to stardom that she did.

In response, Smith told the crowd, "New York has closed itself off to the young and the struggling. But there are other cities. Detroit. Poughkeepsie. New York City has been taken away from you. So my advice is: Find a new city."

I live in NY and it's damn expensive but you can live here comfortably enough as long as you're pulling in like 30-35 thou a year. I'd hate to try and live here on minimum wage though. What do you think, ONTD? Where are the coolest cities to live in?

Usher Claims ‘American Idol’ Hinders Industry

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
In a recent interview, R&B singer Usher told UK news outlet The Guardian that he believes reality television talent shows like “American Idol” are keeping the music industry from progressing.

Ursh says many of the yet talented performers are thrown into the industry without knowledge of the business of music.

“The true art form of music is being lost, because it seems so easy that everyone can do it, and that it can happen overnight,” he told reporters. “Television is a lie. It can’t happen overnight. The artist who thinks that it can just comes and goes. The reason why great singers cannot exist in this time is maybe because they’re not properly managed, and maybe they don’t understand the full gamut of what being an entertainer is.”

Critics may have a few words to say about Usher’s comments, but he also blames irresponsible record companies.

“We’re dealing with an industry that is slowly but surely dying, every day,” he continued. “Then there’s the record companies that are mass-producing these versions of these people; version of this broken art. While it works, because it sells records, it damages the business.”

Taylor Swift’s Fashion Inspiration: Her Fans!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
After being announced as the newest face of CoverGirl on Friday, Taylor Swift tells PEOPLE exclusively about what led her to her most gorgeous gig yet.

“I love makeup,” she says. “When I go on stage, I get to play with my look and try on all kinds of different colors — try red lips tonight, purple eyeshadow tomorrow. You get to play around with all these different characters, and I think that’s one of my favorite things about makeup — you can put on a new character.”

But when it came to her first-ever campaign as a CoverGirl, the singer wanted to just be herself.

“I wanted to sort of show how makeup can play up your natural features. It’s not about changing how you look. I feel like I still look like myself, and that’s exactly what I hoped for.”

And while Taylor’s fans might look to her for style pointers, the singer admits that she’s doing the exact same thing with them.

“I’m a big people-watcher,” she says. “When I see a girl walking down the street wearing a really cool necklace or an outfit that’s put together in a way I wouldn’t have thought of, it’s inspiring to me. Also, girls come through my meet and greet lines every night wearing dresses or outfits I love. That’s really my favorite way to be inspired by fashion.”

But she does have her go-to designers.

“On the road, I love wearing sun dresses. Some of my favorite things to wear are by Alice + Olivia, Rebecca Taylor, Betsey Johnson, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters.”

As for whether she has plans to continue designing, the singer admits: “I’m not planning on a fashion line right now. I’m really wrapped up in recording and writing my next album, so I’ve only taken on a few extra things lately. I love fashion and dressing up for red carpets, but I want to wait until I have enough time to dedicate to something like that.”

Next "POTC" movie will be less lavish due to budget cuts (some spoilers)

Not even Bruckheimer movies can escape budget cuts
The next 'Pirates of the Caribbean' will have a tighter filming schedule, cheaper locations and fewer visual effects shots.

By Claudia Eller and Dawn C. Chmielewski, Los Angeles Times

Like the subtitle of his next "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has found himself "on stranger tides" at Disney.

Under new studio Chairman Rich Ross, Disney is tacking in a new direction, bringing more fiscal restraint to its movies — especially the costly spectacles that are Bruckheimer's stock in trade. His lavish, action-packed productions, from "Armageddon" to the multibillion-dollar franchise "Pirates of the Caribbean," have drawn crowds and contributed generously to Disney's bottom line.

The appeal of escapist entertainment hasn't changed. Disney's summer slate boasts two big Bruckheimer films, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." What has changed is the economics of the movie business. The deterioration of the lucrative DVD business, amid upward-spiraling production and marketing expenses, has prompted industrywide reforms that include a crackdown on budgets and talent.

Such pressures have come to bear even on Hollywood's most influential filmmakers, who are being reined in despite successful track records.

How To Destroy Angels is "Drowning"

Welp, now that it's been confirmed that How To Destroy Angels IS in fact Trent Reznor and Mariqueen Maandig Reznor (with some help from Alan Moulder), we have our first clip!

Mariqueen's voice is adorable, and I feel that this is a good sound for West Indian Girl was totally not my cup of tea. Very Reznorian-lyrics too. It's interesting to see a girl singing his lyrics...brings a different emotion to it, I think. I also think I hear a certain piano riff from "Right Where It Belongs" and some hints from "The Great Below"...

'Nightmare On Elm Street' remake to get sequel
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Freddy Krueger is back - again. After taking $30m on its opening weekend on the US box office, A Nightmare on Elm Street is already in line for a sequel. The remake of the 1984 classic - now starring Jackie Earle Haley as the blade-fingered, striped-jumper terror who stalks people in their dreams - could have its second instalment in 3D.

"We don't have a story yet, but this is the largest horror opening in the April-May corridor, and it just proves there's a lot left in the franchise," Warner distribution president Dan Fellman told The Wrap.

Meanwhile, producer Brad Fuller has said making the follow-up in 3D is possible, though by no means certain.

Fuller explained: "We think that 3D movies have to be designed and written as such. If Eric Heisserer and Wesley Strick came to us with a Nightmare script that is for a 3D movie, we’d be fools not to make it.”

Nightmare on Elm Street is released in the UK on Friday (May 7) and will be reviewed by NME tomorrow (May 5).

I must say that I am pleased by this, since I have a hard on for all things Freddy Krueger related. I just hope that they realize the things that need to be improved upon for the next film.

'Glee': 5 Things you didn't know about Chris Colfer

"Glee" star Chris Colfer has a classic Hollywood discovery story: Even though he auditioned for another part on the hit FOX musical series, the producers liked his performance enough to write a character specifically for him.

Thus, Kurt Hummel was born, and the fans' fascination with the boy from Clovis, California began.

We already know quite a bit about him. Like Kurt, he didn't have the best high school social experience, and when he was a senior, he wrote and masterminded the production of "Shirley Todd," a gender roles-reversed version of "Sweeney Todd."

We're still on such a high from Colfer's incredible solo of "A House Is Not a Home" from the previous week's episode of "Glee," we thought we'd share even more to love about Chris Colfer:

The first official images from Bel Ami starring Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci and Colm Meaney have been released and we’ve got them in high resolution after the jump. The film which also stars Philip Glenister and Holliday Grainger was shot on locations in and around London and Budapest during an eleven week shoot. Shooting wrapped on April 22nd.

Directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, the film is an erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction. Georges Duroy (Robert Pattinson), travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession. Vegas nixes Chris Brown

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Chris Brown was persona non grata in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Because he isn't yet 21, the singer was turned away from the Swagg bash at Tao Beach, where Jamie Foxx, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, Busta Rhymes and Nelly partied. Brown was looking for a place to celebrate his 21st birthday, which is tomorrow, but hadn't found any clubs that would welcome him and his posse.

Brown later garbled the national anthem at the welterweight fight between Sugar Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather, drawing pans from fans, some of whom thought it was inappropriate for him to perform at a high-profile boxing match given his history of using his fists on his then-girlfriend Rihanna last year.

Brown reacted to the criticism of his performance on Twitter, writing, "Im human. how many of u r perfect????????"

He closed his evening with friends at the Sky Villa at the Palms Hotel.

Moviefone's Interviews With RDJ & ScarJo for Iron Man 2!

Moviefone's got exclusive interviews with the sexiness that is RDJ and ScarJo (I guess she can be sexy too.)

'Iron Man 2,' the high-energy sequel to last summer's blockbuster, comes out May 7, and we've got the scoop from two of the film's biggest stars, Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow).

Moviefone's Jenna Busch sat down with the 'Iron Man 2' heroes to talk about their tricky superhero costumes, their characters' complex comic-book storylines and the future of the 'Iron Man' franchise.

While Downey said his costume got lighter and easier to wear than it was in the first movie, Johansson celebrated not having to wear hers again for a long while ... unless of course, fans want her back for another movie.

"I hope the fans like this interpretation of the character -- my interpretation of the character -- enough for me to be able to carry that torch as far as it can go," Johannson said of Black Widow's appearance in another 'Iron Man' movie. "I'd be happy to don the catsuit again if it's required of me."

'Alice in Wonderland' now one of the top-10 highest grossing movies OF ALL TIME...OF ALL TIME

Do you think Tim Burton ever imagined his adaptation of Alice in Wonderland would have become such a behemoth? Well, it’s certainly become one: The director’s seventh collaboration with Johnny Depp is officially the most successful film of Burton’s career — and the tenth highest-grossing film of all time.

As of this morning, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland reached $928.9 million worldwide, surpassing The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, which, back in 2002, topped out at $925.3 million. Of course, that was a whole eight years ago and the second film in Peter Jackson’s trilogy didn’t have the benefit of 3-D to give it that extra jolt at the box office. Still, it’s quite a feat for Burton and Alice. One that Burton will have a hard time topping, no doubt.

Jaime Bergman - David Boreanaz's wife - may sue mistress

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

In a shocking twist to the David Boreanaz cheating story, has learned that the Bones star's wife could legally sue the woman he had affair with, if she wanted to.

Boreanaz's wife Jaime Bergman lives in Utah, one of the few states in the country where a spouse can sue for "alienation of affection," meaning she has the right to file a lawsuit against the other woman if she believes she intended to breakup her marriage. has now learned that the mistress approached the actor at the end of 2009 and at the beginning of this year and asked for money to settle her potential claim.

The situation between Boreanaz and the mistress became extremely heated in late April, and the woman demanded at least six figures.

Boreanaz refused, and decided to go public with his affair.

Go Jaime! I think she should do it.

Kim: I am, and I think the people who are writing into your forum are very smart. Very detail-oriented, but not in a freakish kind of way. [Laughs.]

TWoP: Thanks! We do try not to be scary. So you've filmed the finale -- do you know how Lost ends, or is it still being kept even from the cast?
Kim: No, I know how it ends.

TWoP: Just out of curiosity, do you know if it matches up with what Matthew Fox alleged he knew it was last year?
Kim: There is an element that he and much of the cast knew for many years, and I believe, if it's what I'm thinking of, the answer is yes.

David Boreanaz's mother-in-law: "Divorce is not an option"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

David Boreanaz: cheating jerk or brave defender of the institution of marriage?

His mother-in-law, for one, is firmly of the latter opinion, telling E! News she thinks it took guts for the Bones star to admit his infidelity, and despite the problems he and her daughter have to work out, they will stay together.

"My daughter's very strong," says Sue Scallion, Jaime Bergman's mother. "Jaime told me one day, 'Divorce just isn't an option.' She can get the big picture. They are going to make this work and keep the family together and raise the children.

"They're a great family."

"Jamie can see what would happen to the children and the family if they let something like this get a hold of them. They're not going to give in to it," adds Scallion.

Scallion, who lives in Utah, says her daughter was aware of Boreanaz's cheating before the media found out.

"David told her finally," says Scallion. "David admitted that he got caught up in this other person. Jaime and David, they've got a lot of work to do. But they love each other."

And Scallion says Jaime will be right by Boreanaz's side as he fights against his mystery mistress and her supposed blackmail attempt backed by attorney Gloria Allred. (Allred tells E! News the woman will make a public statement in the coming weeks.)

Taylor Momsen Says Pretty Reckless Album Is 'Sex, Drugs And Religion'
It's not a concept record, unless you consider life a concept,' she tells MTV News of yet-untitled LP.

By James Montgomery

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Taylor Momsen is quickly learning that making the transition from TV star to snarling rock princess isn't as easy as she'd imagined.

In addition to having to win over fickle audiences on this summer's Warped Tour — the type of crowds that don't exactly take kindly to "actor-slash-musicians" — and make it clear to "Gossip Girl" fans that her band, the Pretty Reckless, isn't just another cookie-cutter pop project, she's already having to undo the damage from a quote she gave last month to Entertainment Weekly, in which she stated: "I don't wanna be Courtney Love — I wanna be Kurt Cobain." It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing, to be honest.

So really, at this point, all she wants to do is get the Pretty Reckless' debut album in stores — and then, well, she'll just let the chips fall where they may.

"I want the record out so people can hear it. I'm not a pop artist. It's absolutely a rock record, and I get that people probably aren't expecting that, but, buy the record and check it out,"
Momsen told MTV News on Saturday at the Bamboozle festival. "If you like loud music, you'll like it. Hopefully. It's very loud. If you're not scared of guitars screaming at you and a 16-year-old girl yelling at you, then you'll like the record."

From Spin's The 11 Best Moments of Bamboozle

Gossip Girl starlet Taylor Momsen is a bad, bad girl. With the heat scorching the stage during an early afternoon set with her band, the Pretty Reckless (whose members had to be double her 16 years, at minimum), Momsen quickly tore off her leather jacket and black t-shirt, leaving the teen barely clad in tiny top and cut-off jeans. Later, during the song "Factory Girl," Momsen sang a line about letting a lover in "through the back door," then turned around and shook her ass. It was creepy for just about everyone, even some of the teenage fans. But here's the catch: While she might not be able to pick the Dead Weather's Alison Mosshart out of a lineup, and was bottle feeding when Hole's Live Through This came out, Momsen's songs are pretty kickass, and the girl can really wail, singing with a remarkably raspy, world-weary howl that's worth taking seriously, even if the jailbait routine isn't.

Newlyweds Seth Green and Clare Grant discuss their wedding

They started as friends in 2007, began dating in 2008 and on Saturday, May 1, they made it official.

Actor-producer Seth Green, 36, and actress Clare Grant, 30, were married in a private vineyard in Northern California. "We can't believe we found each other," the couple said in a statement. "We've never been happier!"

Grant wore a tiered Oscar de la Renta gown, and Green donned a custom-made suit from Dennis Kim, a source tells PEOPLE. Tarina Tarantino, the designer at whose Sephora launch party the couple were spotted in February, designed the bridal headpiece and the groom's cufflinks. Barry Jay Jewelers designed the bride's wedding and engagement rings.

Adding to the intimacy of the ceremony, Craig Brewer, who cast Grant in the lead of his MTV series $5 Cover, officiated at the wedding.

The nuptials kick off a busy year for the couple. In addition to $5 Cover, Grant also lends her voice to characters in the Adult Swim Emmy-winning animated series Robot Chicken.

Green continues to voice Chris on the animated Fox series Family Guy and next March will be the lead in Disney's feature film Mars Needs Moms. Green will also serve as creative contributor to LucasFilm's upcoming animated Star Wars series – after all, Green is a fan and George Lucas did attend the wedding.

Matt Kemp on Rihanna: "I Love to Be Around Her"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Although they've been spotted together since January, Rihanna and Matt Kemp have kept coy about their budding romance.

But on Monday, L.A. Dodgers player Kemp finally fessed up about his new love at the State Farm DDF Bowling Extravaganza at L.A.'s Lucky Strike Lanes.

When asked if he and Rihanna were official, Kemp told, "Yeah! That's my girl!"

The baseball star gushed to Us of the singer, "She's just a fun person. I love to be around her."

Right now, the pair have to contend with long-distance love: Rihanna, 22, is currently on her world tour. "She's definitely not gonna be here for a little while. Hopefully when she gets back she'll at a couple [more] games," Kemp told Us. (She was spotted cheering him on at an April 14 game.)

Kemp added: "She's definitely a great person in my life, and I'm happy I'm with her."

Although the athlete and the singer were photographed frolicking in Cabo San Lucas in early January, Rihanna opted to attend the Grammy Awards solo; at the time she claimed "I'm still single."

In 2009, she split with boyfriend Chris Brown following an infamous February assault; he later pled guilty to felony assault, and was sentenced to five years probation.

80's Awesomeness...The Dark Crystal is getting a sequel....

Many of us remember fondly the original DARK CRYSTAL from our childhoods, and now, with a sequel on the way 28 years later, maybe we’ll get to share that magic with our kids as well. Or we’ll bitch about how special effects ruin everything and the original was way better. Either way, POWER OF THE DARK CRYSTAL is moving forward, and according to a recent press release, has picked up a pair of directors in the form of Peter and Michael Spierig, who most recently helmed DAYBREAKERS...

The movie is said to be a split of CGI mo-cap (hopefully Robert Zemeckis is nowhere near this) and traditional puppetry, and I’m really trying to imagine what those will look like side-by-side. And what’s the plot of this new CRYSTAL adventure? Set hundreds of years after the events of the first movie when the world has once again fallen into darkness, “Power of the Dark Crystal” follows the adventures of a mysterious girl made of fire who, together with a Gelfling outcast, steals a shard of the legendary Crystal in an attempt to reignite the dying sun that exists at the center of the planet. A mysterious girl made of fire? I think they’re going to want to go with the mo-cap over a puppet for the one.

I love the original movie so f*kn much.

Star Wars Day: May the Fourth Be With You
Unofficial Holiday Inspires 'Star Wars' Quotes, Celebrations of the Force
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Help me, Google, you're my only hope ... to figure out why everyone on the web is wishing each other a Happy Star Wars Day.

It turns out today is an unofficial holiday celebrating the George Lucas blockbusters, twisting the famous quote, "May the Force be with you" into "May the 4th be with you."

German news TV channel N24 mistranslated George Lucas in an 2005 interview, interpreting his famous line, "May the Force be with you," as "Am 4. Mai sind wir bei Ihnen" (We are with you on May 4). Thus a holiday was born.

And a popular one, too. Star Wars Day is a top-trending topic on Twitter and fans are searching the web for quotes from the movies.

"It's nice that this particular date seems to observe and celebrate the power of the Force, and we're thrilled that 'Star Wars' fans continue to find new ways to connect with a galaxy far, far away," a spokesman for Lucas Films told the New York Daily News.

"Of course, regardless of the date, the Force will be with us ... always."

In related news, the Force was with an Australian comic book store owner Saturday who -- dressed as Spider Man and aided by customers dressed as Jedi Knights -- foiled and apprehended a thief trying to steal an X-Men book worth $160.

Expect May 25, the anniversary of the 1977 premier of the first movie in the "Star Wars" trilogy, to also inspire light-sabre themed celebrations. This time, I will be prepared. When I left you, internet "Star Wars" fans, I was but the learner; now I am the master.

ot: if you block someone in twitter does it show up on their twitter that they've been blocked?

Pre-nups can be so darn romantic!

Inside Charlie Sheen's Cheap Prenup

Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller deny they're divorcing, even as they live apart following Sheen's domestic assault arrest, two stints in rehab, and recent rumors of trysts with a call girl. Why? We have a copy of the couple's prenup.

Sheen and Mueller tied the knot in Beverly Hills on May 30, 2008. At a "quirky" wedding ceremony attended by 68 friends and family members, the pair exchanged warm, giggling vows with Sheen promising to "clean my closet at least once per decade" and "mute the ball game when Brooke says." At the garden reception that followed, Sheen told a reporter that he was "devoted" to Brooke and felt "a new sense of commitment" in his life. "I was telling a couple of friends last night that this feels like my first real marriage," Sheen said. "The first one was a show, the second one was a con, and this one is the real deal."

In fact, the "real deal" took place three days before the wedding ceremony when the couple sat down to sign a 60-page prenup outlining the dispassionate side of their marriage, a legal agreement that provided Brooke with an annual allowance ($300,000), a stake in Charlie's lavish Beverly Hills mansion, and described in painstaking detail how the couple's assets would be divided--or not divided--in the event of divorce.Collapse )

The pre-nup docs and a whole lot more are at the source, this shit really makes you feel warm inside.

Halle Berry Called Gabriel Aubry a "Loser"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

When Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry announced they’d split after four years of dating, they insisted the breakup was amicable.

But sources close to the former couple tell the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands Wednesday, that their parting followed months of bitter bickering behind closed doors.

Even though True Religion model Aubry, 34, raked in an estimated $700,000 a year, Berry focused on his career disappointments, including his failed Cuban eatery, Cafe Fuego, in NYC, which opened in 2006 and closed less than two years later.

"Halle called him a loser," a source tells Us. "She'd rub it in his face that she's an Oscar-winning actress and he's just a model. He couldn't take it anymore."

Ricky Martin Did It Better Shakira

Shakira's World Cup song isn't going over so great
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
With all the problems facing this summer's World Cup in South Africa, the last thing it needed was trouble over something as silly as the tournament's official anthem, but that's exactly what Shakira's "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" is causing among South Africans and many others who have endured it.

The song hit radio stations last week, with Johannesburg locals responding with comments like "It's horrible" and "How is Shakira going to sing the African part of it?" (My guess is with her voice, but a Speak & Spell could be a fun choice, too.)

The Colombian singer collaborated with South African band Freshlyground on the track, which borrows from a Cameroonian song called "Zangalewa." But the fact that the anthem for South Africa's World Cup is not being sung by a South African is the sticking point for the critics who aren't just opposed to the new tune itself.

This isn't even the first time this World Cup's organizers have been given headaches over their musical selection. The tournament's kickoff concert that will take place the night before matches begin on June 11 was also criticized for featuring too many foreign acts like the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys and John Legend, and not local musicians.
The organizing committee eventually bowed to the complaints and made the lineup more "representative."

Shakira is scheduled to perform "Waka Waka" with Freshlyground in front of 94,000 people at the final match on July 11. That should be interesting. Even more interesting? The actual tournament.

NOTHING will ever top the amazing song that was "The Cup Of Life" so just make that song the official World Cup song forever
I thought David Bisbal's song was going to be the official one?

Elisabeth Hasselbeck vs. Erin Andrews

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the woman who puts the "hassle" into The View in more ways than one, opened her wide, wide mouth and placed her foot squarely inside it again today by objecting to Erin Andrews' choice of clothing on Dancing with the Stars -- and then trying to make some feeble joke about Andrews' famed stalker.

"For the past like three weeks she's been wearing like next to nothing," The View shrew, like, said. "I think in light of what happened … and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room … in some way, if I'm him, I'm like, 'Man, I could have just waited 12 weeks' [Cue uncertain, nervous laughter from appalled audience] ... 'I could have seen this, a little bit less, without the prison time.'"

Um, ha? Joy Behar predictably objected to Hasselbeck's objection, while ubiquitous Precious star Gabourey Sidibe noted that Andrews "was not getting paid in that hotel room" to much crowd approval. The Hassling One continued to bleat about the whole thing but thankfully everyone, including Whoopi Goldberg, tuned her out and moved on to something else.

Amongst other things, Hasselbeck may be interested to learn that both View network ABC and Andrews' main employer, ESPN, are owned by Disney. Synergy much, Lizzie?

Julia Louis-Dreyfus gets Hollywood Star!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Spending the day as the center of attention, Julia Louis-Dreyfus was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood on Tuesday (May 4).

Held in front of the W Hotel, the Elaine Benes actress was all smiles at the midday event during which she was joined by "Seinfeld" pals including Jason Alexander and Larry David.

Making for quite the hectic pre-ceremony situation, the LA Chamber of Commerce misspelled Julia's name on the star - having to scramble to fix it before the stars and media showed up.

According to reports, the engravers omitted the hyphen and the "o" in Louis, as the star read: "Julia Luis Dreyfus".

Upon hearing the news of the misspelling, Julia thought it was "hilarious" and asked for it to be left the way it was to no avail - though she was sent the removed piece of concrete holding the misspelled "Luis" piece.

"Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall" In Pre-Production

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The comics world was buzzing today with the news of "Kick-Ass" and "Wanted" co-creator Mark Millar's plans to launch a new U.K. comics magazine titled "CLiNT" that will feature original comics and comics-related content.

Not only did Millar promise to kick off the sequel to his "Kick-Ass" comic in the first issue of CLiNT, but there was also mention of a film sequel, too.

According to the official statement, "'Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall' has been scheduled for production in 2011 for a 2012 cinema release, but fans of the first movie can find out what happens two years in advance by picking up CLiNT."

Along with the "Kick-Ass" comic sequel, British television host Jonathan Ross and stand-up comedian Frankie Boyle will also contribute original content to the magazine, which will have its first issue hit shelves September 2 in the U.K.

Over on Bleeding Cool (which broke the news about the project well ahead of today's announcement), there's some speculation regarding other contributors (including former "Doctor Who" lead writer Russell T. Davies) who might factor into upcoming CLiNT features.

"This isn’t aimed at comic stores (though I’m delighted if comic stores want to stock), but instead aimed at the huge potential of a UK mass market, the like of which hasn’t really been reached in a generation," wrote Millar on his website. "It’s going to be a massive venture and one aimed almost entirely at the UK. If people in the US want a copy that’s great, but this is being put together with casual British readers in mind, a combination of comic-books, interviews and features for 16-30 year old men."

Camilla Belle @ MET Ball After Party

Camilla Belle and designer Jason Wu attend a MET Ball after-party on the 18th floor of The Standard Hotel on Monday night (May 4) in New York City’s Meatpacking District.

Earlier in the evening, Camilla wore a blazing red hot Jason Wu gown on the red carpet at the MET Ball.

Jason had told HuffPo, “[Camilla and I are] like two kids in a candy store. The dress is a custom-made dress. We thought red. I mean I did a lot of these kinds of dresses for my fall collection and we really wanted to pump it up with a scarlet, lipstick-red dress. It’s the epitome of American fashion. And she is the perfect muse.”

Camilla gushed, “I love the color, I love the style. I love how feminine it is.”

Kfat & His Moobs At Taco Bell & Target

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

When faced with the possibility of donning a XXXL t-shirt, most people would do whatever it takes to avoid the clothing equivalent of a motorhome tarp. Okay, well maybe not whatever it takes, but most people would fight it a bit. However Kevin Federline clearly doesn't see the point.

Back in the day, K-Fed actually intentionally put on as much weight as possible so that he'd have a lot of weight to lose - and thus win - Celebrity Fit Club. He's denied it (and even went so far as to claim he didn't even find out about the show's offer until one day before filming started. Really? We're really supposed to buy that, even though rumors were swirling around for months prior?), and claimed the weight gain occurred due to depression.

K-Fed lost Celebrity Fit Club to Project Runway designer Jay McCarroll, who lost 40 lbs. And it looks like Federline is already back to his old ways, comforting himself with chalupas and burritos that are inexplicably wrapped in a flour tortilla and deep fried together into a melange of sadness. Our photographers caught him hitting the Taco Bell drive thru with shockingly hot girlfriend Victoria Prince in Los Angeles yesterday. Combine that with the return of the tent shirt and we're thinking things don't look very good for K-Fed.

Xtina, Chris Brown and Ke$ha are unfazed by your hate.

In the minds of many singers, there are only two kinds of people in the world: Fans and haters. Fans lap up and support everything they do. Put out a crappy single? Who cares?! Said celebrity totally looked hot in the video so that makes up for it. Haters are the rest of the world. People who judge you based on your merits. People who may or may not like every song you put out.

Why can't the "haters" just make life easier for all musicians and just stop being critical? Readers, you're in luck as this week, the "hater" whine comes in three different flavors.

Katy Perry covers Lucky Mag June 2010!!!! because there should be multiple KP posts a day.

As Katy Perry's neon illuminated dress at last night's Met Gala made clear, the pop star has a thing for statement-making fashion.

In the June issue of Lucky, on newsstands this week, Perry reveals what's happening inside her head as she plans her often outrageous ensembles.

"I've gone from Betty Boop to more Bettie Page. It's less cute and more meow," she tells the magazine, while sharing some of her favorite things, including over-the-knee Agent Provocateur stockings with snakes up the back, a metallic Kate Spade jacket, deep red Nouba lipstick, and sparkly Melissa flats.

The newly engaged singer, who is expected to marry Brit comedian Russell Brand this year, admits that her love for fashion is so strong of late that it has become deeply intertwined with her music.

"Whenever I write a song, I look at to figure out what it would look like if it were a dress," she says. "Is that stupid?"

Um, of course not. Especially now that the bubbly beauty can actually afford -- or at least has the connections to borrow -- the stuff she sees on the runway. Naturally, that wasn't always the case.

"I was completely broke," she says of her beginnings as a performer. "I used to borrow outfits, get my makeup done at makeup counters, and then sneak into events. It was cool! I seemed to be wearing things right."

Some of the items she seems to be wearing right in the Lucky spread include a white ruffled Oscar de la Renta top and bright pink D&G short-shorts, a Dolce & Gabbana silk jacquard bustier bodysuit, and a body-hugging red asymmetrical dress by Nanette Lepore. Meow, indeed!

Lindsay Lohan confirmed for 'Inferno'

A few years back, Anna Faris made headlines by revealing to MTV News that she was planning to play late porn icon Linda Lovelace in a biopic about her controversial rise and fall from fame. Now, after a period of dormancy following Faris' departure from the project, one of the film's producers has confirmed an eyebrow-raising replacement: Lindsay Lohan.

Last month, The New York Post ran an item saying that Lohan had been "telling friends" that she'll play the "Deep Throat" star. That report actually linked her to a different project entitled "Lovelace," when in actuality she has been in talks with the people making a competing project entitled "Inferno."

"The idea has been kicked around for months," a producer on "Inferno," Wali Razaqi, told MTV News when approached for comment. "The director [Matthew Wilder] told me it would be a very good role for her. I would say it's probably one of the most challenging roles any actor could play -- and not because of the sexual content, necessarily -- but more because she was so battered and beat up emotionally, that I think it’s gonna take everything Lindsay has to really be able to pull it off," he said. "Not that Lindsay's life is similar in any way -- but she's been through a lot of ups and downs. A lot of times you're loved and then you're hated, and I think she can relate to those emotions and feelings. One week she's the 'it' girl, and the next, she's the 'what are you doing?' girl."

Contacted separately, "Inferno" producer Chris Hanley said that Lohan's participation has been locked in. "That is confirmed," he said. The producers are making plans to attend the Cannes Film Festival to seek financing, and had planned to officially announce Lohan at that time.

"Linda Lovelace" was the stage name Linda Susan Boreman adopted before starring in "Throat," the 1972 flick about a frustrated woman exploring (and exploring, and exploring again) her sexuality. Lovelace became a household name after "Deep Throat" arrived as a full-fledged pop-culture phenomenon that had stars like Johnny Carson and Jack Nicholson attending showings. Porn became chic, and the film has to date grossed more than $600 million worldwide (some believe it is still be the most profitable movie ever made).

In the years that followed, however, Lovelace reinvented herself as an anti-porn crusader, toiled in poverty and insisted that she had a gun held to her head off-camera during those infamous "Throat" scenes, blaming the experience largely on her manager/husband Chuck Traynor. She died in 2002 at the age of 53 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

In 2007, Faris told us that the casting of Traynor had proven difficult because it was such a pivotal role; Sam Rockwell was reportedly eventually cast in the role, but his continued participation opposite Lohan seems questionable. "This would be incredibly intense," the "House Bunny" actress said of the project at the time. "It's a really deep, dark drama."

For obvious reasons, "Inferno" become even more enticing with Lohan in the lead role. The once-wholesome teen star has spent the last several years expanding her reputation into some very adult areas, culminating in a recent photo shoot that had her pointing a gun into her mouth. When approached for comment on the "Inferno" casting, Lohan's representatives did not respond by press time.

many articles have gone on with confirmations from friends and sources, but this is an actual statement from the producers. i'm so excited, get that movie comeback lindsay!

How Producer Bangladesh Really Feels About Lil Wayne

V Exclusive: Bangladesh On Lil Wayne: 'I Don't F*@k With Him... And You Can Print That'
VIBE.COM By: Tray Hova Posted 5-4-2010 12:06 pm

Lil Wayne may be locked in Rikers Island away from the industry, but that's not stopping some of his associates from handling business with him. Grammy award-winning producer, Shondrae "Bangladesh" Crawford has a bone to pick with Mr. Dwayne Carter. A $500,000 bone.

"I don't fuck with [Lil Wayne]... and you can print that," Bangladesh told VIBE, when asked if fans should anticipate a reunion come his 2011 release. "Cash Money don’t pay royalties. The Carter III, [is] his biggest album probably because of “A Millie.” [But] you have to sue these guys so that they pay up."

The Atlanta beatmaker disclosed that he is suing for an estimated 500 Gs in owed royalty checks for his work on "A Millie," one of Wayne's most revered records of all time. A single that earned him Best Rap Solo Performance at the 2009 Grammy's and gave The Carter III ammunition to sell a million records it's first week of release in June 2008.

The 50 best author vs. author put-downs of all time

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
One man's Shakespeare is another man's trash fiction:
With the single exception of Homer, there is no eminent writer, not even Sir Walter Scott, whom I can despise so entirely as I despise Shakespeare....
But, of course, there must be SOME writers we can all agree on as truly great, right? Like Jane Austen. Or not:
Every time I read 'Pride and Prejudice,' I want to dig her up and hit her over the skull with her own shin-bone.
Robert Frost?
If it were thought that anything I wrote was influenced by Robert Frost, I would take that particular work of mine, shred it, and flush it down the toilet, hoping not to clog the pipes.
John Steinbeck, surely?
I can't read ten pages of Steinbeck without throwing up.

The Shakespearean take-down was George Bernard Shaw, the Austen shin-bone basher was Mark Twain, the anti-Frost poet was James Dickey, and the quick!-bring-me-the-bucket-it's-Steinbeck was James Gould Cozzens.Yes, hell hath no fury like one author gleefully savaging another author's work. And, lucky for us, there's plenty to be had where that came from.Cast your eye on these, the 50 most memorable author vs. author put-downs (in no particular order; though if you've got a favorite, by all means, comment on it, below).
