If you're interested in a faux Jersey Girl firmly planted in Miami, you're in luck -- Snooki dumped her boyfriend, sources tell TMZ.

Doug Reinhardt has figured out a way to deal with getting dumped by Paris Hilton ... a sweaty makeout session with some random chick.
Just days after announcing his split with Paris, a clearly heartbroken Doug swapped spit with a lady friend at the Night Vision/ All Points Oasis party at the Merv Griffin estate near the Coachella Music Festival on Saturday night.
Looks like Doug is picking up the pieces.

Colombian singer Juanes formed part of an all-star line-up on Sunday, when he performed at a charity concert in the Dominican Republic to raise money for earthquake-torn Haiti.
Organized by Dominican musician Juan Luis Guerra, the show took place in the country's capital Santo Domingo, where Juanes was joined by big-name international artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Miguel Bose and Johnny Ventura.
The Colombian crooner opened his set with a heartfelt offer of "a big embrace from here to all the people of Haiti," before playing some of his most well-known tracks, as well as several new songs from his soon-to-be-released album.
Juanes and his fellow musicians were watched by some 40,000 fans in the city's Felix Sanchez stadium.
The money raised from the charity gig will go towards building a children's hospital in in Haiti's devastated capital Port-au-Prince.
cue the "omg my spanish teacher always used to play his songs in class!" and "tengo la camisa negra" comments ;)
PS - Juanes also talked about it and twitpic'ed from the event on his twitter

The Pro/Celebrity Race for charity is a much loved, and anticipated part of the activities that surround the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend. For about 34 of the 36 editions of this race at the beach, the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race has been a natural extension of race weekend because, after all, Long Beach is just Hollywood South ... with boats and a beach!
By offering up a platform that benefits charity ... approximately $2,000,000 plus to date ... professional drivers (who are stars in their own right), and paparazzi stars from the world of television and film are able to compete against each other in identically prepared Toyota street style four-cylinder automobiles from a staggered start (Yes! Celebs get a headstart margin) for ten laps. The pressure is on to perform for both Celebrity and Pro because it is just human nature to never let anyone get the better of themselves ... no mater what is on the line.
Here are some photos of the post race press interview that featured the overall race winner, Professional driver and IndyCar Series team owner (three cars for the whole 2010 season) Jimmy Vasser, and the top three finishers of the Celebrity group that had as its top finisher Brian Austin Green (second time participant - TV Series 90210), second finisher Adrien Brody (second time participant/Oscar winning movie star - breakout film, The Pianist (2002)), Celebrity pole-sitter and third-finisher Zachary Levi (TV spy/comedy/romance series - CHUCK).

As proven last night, she is a true Tudor-era Girl Gone Wild with her love for girl-on-girl mud fights, dancing wildly around any room she enters, getting naked and covering herself with rose petals, putting on erotic puppet shows, dancing in the rain in a see-through nightgown, and having sex with lots of men. She's loving her life, as it seems like one endless party of new clothes and gaudy jewelry.
Her Ladies in Waiting are equally ditzy and love to shriek and giggle just as much as their Queen does. It’s like they’re always saying, “Holy crap, girls! Look! We’re, like, rich now or something!” Honestly, what do these women do all day long? However, as the audience has figured out (due to your actual knowledge of history or just your viewing of the 10-second “What’s Coming Up on This Season of the Tudors” spot) poor Catherine is doomed. I think I’m happy about this.
She’s annoying already and will no doubt get even more annoying as we see lots of her fumbling antics in upcoming episodes. But here’s what I don’t get: Is this girl such an utter fool that she hasn’t figured out that her husband is fond of killing the wives who displease him? Does she really think she can get away with cheating on him and everything is going to be honky-dory? I suppose she does and this only underscores her lack of intelligence.
( Collapse )
What does everyone think of this season so far? I'm loving it, although I do find Catherine extremely annoying most of the time. Especially in the first episode. She didn't bother me as much in episode two. I don't know why, but I feel bad for Lady Rochford, but totally love her scheming and I think Thomas Culpeper is a creep.

Up In The Air star Vera Farmiga is pregnant with her second child.
The actress, who gave birth to baby Finn just before starting work on Up in the Air in 2009, is due in October, according to In Touch magazine.
The baby news has forced Farmiga, who is married to Renn Hawkey, to give up a role as Gerard Butler's wife in upcoming movie Machine Gun Preacher.
An insider tells the publication, "The role would have meant travelling to Africa this summer, but because her baby is due in the fall, she would have been too far along to make the trip."Farmiga is still planning to continue with plans to make her directorial debut this year by turning born-again Christian Carolyn Briggs' memoir, This Dark World: A Memoir of Salvation Found and Lost, into a movie. The adaptation will be called Higher Ground.
Congrats to her! I love her, and it would have been awesome to see her in a movie with Gerry, but oh well.

Lindsay Lohan has been hitting the party scene hard and hasn't done much work since her last film Labor Pains, which went straight to DVD. Despite her lack of income, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that she hasn't cut back on her spending and is now over half a million dollars in debt.
"Lindsay owes credit cards $600,000," a source tells RadarOnline.com of the troubled 23-year-old. "One card cut her off last week and it's only a matter of time before all her other credit cards cut her off too."
Lohan used to make a good chunk of change by doing club appearances, but as RadarOnline.com previously reported the invites are becoming sparse and the starlet gets only from $5,000 to $10,000 at most.
Lohan's financial woes are nothing new but the severity of them is. She recently made headlines when it was reported that the actress was two months behind on her rent, prompting her landlord to threaten eviction. Lohan allegedly paid $23,000 to catch up and stay in her place.
"One credit card company is going to discuss a payment plan for Lindsay," the source continued. "But if she doesn't have the income and can't make her payments, they are prepared to sue her."
Poor Lindsay, this is everyone's fault but her own.

The network renewed the series for its standard 10 episodes, which will debut next year.
“After much soul searching – and by the way, it was nowhere to be found – I have decided to do another season of 'Curb,'” creator David said. “I look forward to the end of shooting, when I can once again resume the hunt for my elusive soul. Adds HBO programming president Michael Lombardo: “Larry always loves to paint himself into a corner, and after the incredibly wonderful seventh season of 'Curb,' you have to ask, ‘How does he ever top this?’ But he always finds a way. We can’t wait to see what he does in season eight.”

Homecoming (2009) Trailer
I watched this the other day and I actually thought it was really good. Have you seen it? What are your thoughts?
Homecoming is out on DVD today- April 20th.
American Idol" front-runner Crystal Bowersox is not denying she had "a moment" of weakness and talked to Ryan Seacrest about quitting the show -- but she never expected Seacrest would tell the world about it.
The dread-locked singer reacted yesterday for the first time to reports that she was planning to leave "Idol" because she missed her young son -- news that rocked the "Idol"-sphere.
But in a text message to a friend, Crystal yesterday said she'd been "betrayed by Seacrest" and had never been seriously ready to quit.
"No apologies for being human," the 24-year-old singer tweeted on her official "Idol" Twitter page yesterday. "Life is always testing one's strength and weakness threshold. That's how we learn how strong we really are."
But it was through Katelyn Epperly -- a close friend of Bowersox from the Top 24 "Idol" tryouts -- in an interview with a Des Moines radio station that the "Idol" favorite got her story out.
"Idol" contestants are not allowed to talk to the media until after they've been voted off the show.
Epperly texted Crystal over the weekend, she told the radio station yesterday, to ask if the stories about her leaving were true.
"Crystal texted back : 'I'm fine . . . betrayed by Seacrest!' " Epperly said.
"She had a moment backstage and they made it into something it wasn't," said the friend. "She's still in the game."
By yesterday, sentiment was beginning to turn against Seacrest, who has portrayed himself as the knight on a white horse in what fans are now calling "Crystalgate."
"Our very own Ryan Seacrest, was on hand to save the day," read the eonline.com account of Crystal's meltdown last Friday.
"Ryan confirms reports that he tracked down an emotionally drained and homesick Crystal in the parking lot after a show some two weeks ago and talked her down: 'The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house,' he told her. 'You can buy your mom a house,' " the report said.
Now, the wildly successful show was being nailed for revealing an intimacy.
"Welcome to the show business, Crystal," wrote one fan on the comments page of mjsbigblog.com, a leading "Idol" blog. "It's a bit naive to think Seacrest cares about the contestants in the first place. He cares about his own a- - first and foremost."
"This whole Crystal thing was all about Ryan trying to make himself the big hero," wrote another fan. "His ego is out of control."
what a loser! crystal is the only hope left for AI.
Poor old Alexa Chung... Despite her best efforts, she’s still finding it hard to make an impact in America – and it’s all because they just “don’t get” her sense of humour, Talking about her troubles in the Radio Times, Alexa explains, “They don’t have the tone that T4 has anywhere in American TV. If you’re a girl and you’re my age, you’re on a shiny night-time show and you’ve got your boobs hoiked up, and you’re not really giving opinions. You’re merely a conduit. Sometimes I’d be in the middle of interviewing [a celebrity] and I’d aim to have a joke and be irreverent, and then it would transpire that they weren’t getting it and I had to switch back and do a straight interview.” Alexa’s MTV show has now been axed, but we don’t think she’s all that upset about it. “[Channel 4 was] like being at sixth form and calling your teachers by their first names,” she says. “Whereas at MTV, people sit in their offices and don’t come down.” The star also admits she actually misses the paps in London, saying, “In New York they do it on a long lens. In England, because I know some of them, they’ll take the p**s out of me and they’re quite funny.” Missing the paps?! She must be homesick.
Top Gear takes blame for Icelandic volcano eruption
As widely reported in the media this week, James May was spotted in Iceland days before the volcano eruption that paralysed British air space.
Today, experts worldwide have rushed to blame TopGear for the holiday-ruining cloud of ash and doom sweeping over the UK.
According to local media, the shaggy-haired television presenter was witnessed driving a modified Hilux to the rim of the Eyjafjallajoekull volcano last week.
Though initially assumed that he was simply filming a feature for the the popular motoring television show, it has since been speculated that May’s purpose was far more devious.
“It has been scientifically proven that TopGear is responsible for almost every evil in the modern world, so the eruption of a furious tectonic force barely a week after Richard Clarkson’s ‘visit’ can hardly be viewed as mere coincidence,” says media commentator Annalisa Kneejerk.
“We have it on good authority that Jeremy Hammond drove one of his favourite Ferrari gas-guzzlers at 100mph, straight into the main magma chamber, which could quite easily have caused this geological catastrophe. Thankfully I’ve never watched the show.”
In other news, a government committee has blamed TopGear for the eco-unfriendly image of motorsports in the UK.
lol at Jeremy and Richard's names getting confused.
I believe Jeremy Clarkson is responsible for any of the world's disasters because he is that evil of a man.
Glad to see some flights are finally taking off and people can finally go home on both sides of the Atlantic. Let's hope the other volcano doesn't errupt

The sex scandal engulfing France's international football team took a disturbing twist today as Franck Ribery admitted sleeping with an under-age prostitute.
It came as 22-year-old Karim Benzema was named as another suspect, along with Hatem Ben Arfa, the 23-year-old Marseilles striker. They all join Sidney Govou, the 30-year-old Lyon winger, who is the fourth player allegedly involved in the crimes.
Although Ribery, a married 27-year-old star, denied knowing that the girl was under 18 when he began seeing her, he could still face charges along with his teammates.
All are suspected of having 'regular sex' with the unnamed French Moroccan after being introduced to her at the Zaman Café, a notorious nightclub on the Champs Elysee in Paris.

Australian musical comedy act The Axis Of Awesome (great name, by the by) has brought this to our attention: the same four chords in the same progression has been used for pretty much every pop song ever. Two congratulations are in order here. One for Axis of Awesome for this great live medley. And the other, to pop music who's duped us for years. Very impressive. But mark our words pop music: this ends now. (via The Daily What)
The Beatles may have been groundbreak and revolutionary and incredible, but the still use the same four chords as Pink, Aqua, and 3Oh!3. Think about that next time you wonder why you have musical talent while watching Glee’s repetitive plotlines.
With the James Bond franchise halted (sad face), Sam Mendes has quickly found another project to latch onto, and boy does it sound Oz-some. According to a Production Weekly tweet, he's the front runner to direct Oz The Great and Powerful, based partly on the L. Frank Baum books that also gave us such films as The Wizard of Oz and Return to Oz. Like the latter (and to some extent The Muppets' Wizard of Oz), this film is set up at Disney. And here's the best part: Robert Downey Jr. is first choice to play the ol' Wizard. Because it had to be him or Johnny Depp, right?
24 Frames reported on this project a month ago when it was called "Brick." Scripted by Mitchell Kapner (The Whole Nine Yards), the plot concerns the back story of Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs (or O.Z. for short, as the rest of the initials spell out "PINHEAD"). A young circus magician from Omaha, O.Z. ends up ruler of the land also coincidentally called Oz when he mistakenly lands there in his hot air balloon. Apparently this is gaining heat because of the success of Alice in Wonderland while also coinciding with Universal's adaptation of Wicked, which is similarly an origin story inspired more than based upon the original Baum stories.
Other Wizard of Oz movies in the works right now include New Line's straight adaptation The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Warner Bros.' darker, comic-booky Oz, which sends Dorothy's granddaughter to Oz to "fight evil," according to the LA Times. Disney's version will be produced by Alice in Wonderland's Joe Roth, and I'm assuming it will hit theaters before the rest.

When he landed a role on the 2006 sitcom The Class, Broadway actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, then starring in the Tony Award–winning production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, thought What could go wrong? After all, the show was directed by a creator of Cheers and written by a creator of Friends. Its cancellation after one season, however, seemed to confirm what Hollywood insiders had been saying for years: The sitcom was dead. “Fast-forward three years, and I’m on what I think is one of the strongest shows of the season,” Ferguson says modestly before adding, “OK, of the decade.”
Modern Family, ABC’s multigenerational sitcom, reaches an average audience of 9.5 million viewers, besting the ratings of 30 Rock, Glee, and The Office, and has critics drawing comparisons to the Citizen Kane of sitcoms, All in the Family. Ferguson, who has been likened to Neil Patrick Harris, has quickly become a talk show circuit regular and awards show darling. (“My crowning moment of the Golden Globes was Tom Ford coming over and fixing my tie and telling me I looked good!” he says.)
But Mitchell Pritchett, an uptight gay lawyer raising an adopted Vietnamese baby with his retired clown of a partner, was the role that almost wasn’t for Ferguson, who had all but given up on the small screen. “I thought I’d had my one shot, and it didn’t happen,” he remembers. “I had some theater opportunities in New York, and I was going to see those through when I got the script for Modern Family, which my then-manager really underplayed. I was in the middle of a snowstorm in New York in a café, and I read the entire thing on my iPhone, and I called him right away.”
But an unimpressed manager and a souring on the TV business weren’t the only things standing between the 34-year-old and the part that would afford him his greatest professional success and allow him to be comfortable as an out celebrity. Here, he opens up about going public with his sexuality, finding his inner tranny, his Jonas Brothers fantasies, and why it’s OK for gays to look to Bert and Ernie as role models.

I knew who Ross was but even with him attached to the project I wasn’t immediately sold on picking this book up. Then I saw the cover and learned that “Marvel 1985″ artist Edwards was on the series. The two collaborating was enough to get me cautiously optimistic about the project. By the time the panel was over I couldn’t get to the Image booth fast enough to get my copy of issue 1.

Cyndi Lauper has completed work on her eleventh studio album, Memphis Blues, to be released on June 21 through Downtown Records. As the title suggests, it’s a blues album that was recorded in Memphis. We can also tell you that it was recorded in February and March of this year with producer Scott Bomar at his Electraphonic studios. Long-time collaborator William Wittman was also involved, as were respected blues musicians Allen Toussaint and Charlie Musselwhite. Legendary vocalist Ann Peebles also cameos.
Cyndi is currently starring in a celebrity version of hit TV show ‘The Apprentice’, alongside Sharon Osbourne and other US personalities. If she wins, she’ll donate her prize money to the True Colors Fund of Stonewall Community Foundation, a charity she co-founded to increase awareness of the hardships suffered by the LGBT community. Their latest campaign, Give A Damn, launched on April 1.
Here’s an interview that aired last week on ‘Ellen’ in which she discusses all of the above, and, of course, Lady Gaga.
Somebody famous is about to come out fairly soon
Ricky Martin recently came out about being a homosexual. Not exactly earth shattering news, but still a commendable act of personal courage for the father of two.
So which Hollywood celebrity is going to come out on May 5?
People Magazine allegedly has the exclusive and the celeb is booked on several major talk shows that week including "The View."
PR powerhouse Howard Bragman, who has successfully -- some might add brilliantly -- orchestrated several celeb outings in the past decade talked about his next coming out project at the GLAAD Media Awards red carpet Sunday (Apr. 17).
Bragman -- the coming out king of Hollywood -- doesn't want to speculate on who it will be (that would kind of ruin his well-planned surprise, wouldn't it) but In the past he's helped NFL defensive lineman Isera Tualo, LPGA star Rosie Jones, WNBA star Sheryl Swoops and retired NBA center John Amaechi come out.
He also orchestrated the plans for former "Party of Five" Mitchell Anderson, "Married with Children" co-star Amanda Bearse and aided Dick Sargent of "Bewitched" fame to come out on Entertainment Tonight.
Most recently, he planned Chaz Bono's announcement of a transition from woman to man and got the news about Meredith Baxter being a lesbian out before tabloids reported her taking a lesbian cruise.
"In Hollywood," Bragman has said, "most publicists keep their clients in the closet. And I'm the guy people tend to come to when they want to come out of the closet."
Bragman made his name founding a major entertainment public-relations firm -- Bragman, Nyman, Cafarelli -- and his new boutique firm is called Fifteen Minutes. Fittingly, his book about Hollywood and celebrity, "Where's my Fifteen Minutes?" even has a chapter dedicated to coming out.
In a sense, Bragman is at war, taking on the entertainment industry to end the perception that a gay actor has to stay in the closet. Bragman believes that times are changing and that we will soon have our first gay Hollywood action hero.
Tiger Woods partied like a rockstar last night -- leaving his Isleworth compound to hang out backstage at a Nickelback concert in Orlando, according to a source at the show.
We're told Woods was shrouded by security backstage at Amway Arena -- while the band did their thing.
We know Tiger's a big Nickelback fan -- he's even joined them on stage in the past... though last night he kept a much lower profile, for obvious reasons.
No word if Tiger hung around for after parties.
Forget him cheating on his wife with God know how many skanks, This THIS! is truly offensive and unforgivable...
Who would have thought that The Real Housewives of New York City’s Jill Zarin would be the first to say sorry? Well, that’s the case between her and ex-BFF, Bethenny Frankel. We caught up with Jill at the launch party for her new book, Secrets of a Jewish Mother at Zarin Fabrics in NYC on April 13, and she told HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “I’ve already said sorry many times” to Bethenny!
Jill and Bethenny grew apart and then began feuding last year when Bethenny met and began a whirlwind love affair with new boyfriend/now husband Jason Hoppy. Tensions between the two housewives have heated up to say the least, during season three of their show. In last week’s episode, Bethenny did make an attempt to patch things up with Jill but she went about it in the wrong way – a surprise confrontation at Housewife Ramona Singer’s house! No surprise- it was a disaster. No one, least of all Jill ,likes to be caught off guard!
Season three wrapped up filming months ago, and now Jill tells us she’s finally ready to forgive Bethenny and move on. She misses her onetime BFF and wants to make amends.
But we’ll have to wait a few more episodes before we see things calm down on the show itself. “I’ve gotten the s**t kicked out of me and tomorrow is not going to be any better,” Jill says of an upcoming episode. “It’s another beat up Jill night. … The story hasn’t unfolded yet. There’s still many more episodes to come. You haven’t seen the entire Jill story.”
We can’t wait, and we hope Bethenny reaches out an olive branch too!
Pop star Lady Gaga ‘never complains’ during her workouts, no matter how gruelling they are, says her personal trainer Harley Pasternak.
"Like most stars she doesn't have a ton of time, so when she is with me she stays focused and never complains no matter how hard I push her," contactmusic quoted Harley as saying.
"She has always been active, but about a year ago, she decided she wanted to have the best abs, legs and arms ever - so she stepped up her workouts."
Harley thinks workouts have helped the 24-year-old to raise her confidence as she is comfortable to wear her trademark outrageous outfits now.
"Now she is super confident about her body and comfortable wearing everything and anything," he added.
Chris Brown will host a Haiti benefit concert in his home state of Virginia on May 15, according to his website.

When Conan O'Brien announced last week that he would be returning to television this November via cable station TBS, the news reverberated throughout the television community. Was it a step down for O'Brien to move from network TV to basic cable? What would the show look like? What would his deal be? It seems that everybody has an opinion — including former rival and "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno.
"I think he'll be great. He's a very funny guy. ... I knew he'd land on his feet," Leno told "Access Hollywood" over the weekend. "It'll be fun. Everybody will compete. Everything after 11 o'clock is now the most exciting place to be."
When asked if he was surprised that O'Brien had landed at TBS and not at Fox, Leno said, "I didn't know what to think. Fox is network, but they have cable too. It's all sort of the same now. Network, cable — everybody sort of reaches the same thing. But I think it's exciting and I think he'll do well."
Though O'Brien had been negotiating with Fox, the TBS deal apparently came together over the course of a week. O'Brien was careful to make sure he had the endorsement of fellow late-night host George Lopez — whose "Lopez Tonight" currently occupies the 11 o'clock slot that O'Brien will take over in November — so as not to undercut him the way many people feel Leno did when O'Brien briefly took over as the host of "The Tonight Show."
Since returning to the fold as the host of "The Tonight Show," Leno has reestablished his familiar place at the top of the late-night ratings, besting longtime rival David Letterman. Meanwhile, O'Brien's Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour continues this Thursday in San Francisco. He'll remain on the road until June 14.
DreamWorks Animation has released the first full clip from Shrek Forever After, opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 21. Directed by Mike Mitchell, the fourth installment features the voices of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas, Jon Hamm, Kathy Griffin and Kristen Schaal.
In the film, Shrek has lost his roar. It used to send villagers running away in terror. Now they run to him and ask him to sign their pitchforks and torches. To regain his ogre mojo, he strikes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin. The pact goes awry and Shrek must confront what life would be like in Far Far Away if he had never existed. That translates into Donkey being forced into cart-pulling duty, fat and lazy Puss in Boots trading his sword for a pink bow and the underhanded Rumpelstiltskin ruling the kingdom.

Having surprised and disgusted audiences on the film festival circuit with The Human Centipede (First Sequence), writer-director Tom Six is going back to his warped concept for more.
During a chat to promote the film's limited theatrical release this week through IFC Films, Six says The Human Centipede (Full Sequence) (note "full sequence" - yikes) is, "really far along. We start shooting in June in the UK."
Six will once again write and direct. He's confident that what he has come up with as a follow-up will be refreshing to fans of the first film. "I want to keep it a bit of a surprise as to what happens. I always see a lot of Hollywood horror film sequels and they're terrible. I want to make sure the sequel is original and something cool. That's a challenge. I have some stuff in the script that will, I hope, amaze the audience. I can tell you it's going to be a huge centipede - with twelve people. But what happens in it is something we don't expect."
In the original, Dieter Laser stars as a surgeon who kidnaps three people and fuses them together. When asked if Laser will reprise his role in some capacity, Six laughs and says that's one aspect of the sequel he'd like to keep under wraps for now.
Our full interview with Six is coming. Keep your eyes peeled to [Shock Till You Drop]!

"Editing is like writing with shots."
Before Dede Allen, the legendary film editor who died Saturday at the age of 86, most classic Hollywood movies had a subject-verb-object grammar (a longshot of the character followed by a medium shot of his action capped by a closeup of the action's effect on the object) and rhythm. Before Dede Allen, the sound you heard matched the image on the screen. But when Allen spliced The Hustler (1961), locating the psychology of each scene in the establishing shot (the ambitious glint in Paul Newman's eye, the collision of balls on the pool table to indicate the collision of wills between "Fast Eddie" Felson and his rival Minnesota Fats) and overlapping the sound from the forthcoming scene as a segue between sequences, everything changed. Allen didn't think editing should be codified like a textbook but rather allusive like a poem. (Her mentor, Robert Wise -- who served as the film editor on Citizen Kane and hired her to cut his Odds Against Tomorrow, is said to have encouraged her experimentation.)
Influenced by French New Wave filmmakers, Allen cut the duration of the average shot to give the movie a quicker rhythm. Arthur Penn, for whom she edited the groundbreaking Bonnie and Clyde (1967), eulogized her as "not an editor, but a constructionist," the architect of the film's tempo. Allen is most celebrated for her work with Warren Beatty (who produced Bonnie and Clyde and directed 1981's Reds) and John Hughes (The Breakfast Club and Planes, Trains and Automobiles.) Her collaborators -- especially actors -- credit Allen for building their performances, often combining footage from different takes in a jagged and incisive way. Case in point: Jack Nicholson's Eugene O'Neill confessing his love to Diane Keaton's Louise Bryant in Reds. There's an argument to be made that she deserves supporting actor honors for building Al Pacino's performances in Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon.
Allen was an indispensable resource for directors. I love this anecdote (hat tip, Anne Thompson) about how when Hughes couldn't find a suitable ending for Planes, Trains Allen juggled some footage to give him the ending he didn't realize was already there, like a diamond cutter cutting the facet that makes the stone sparkle.
According to those who knew her, she was an infinitely wise and patient woman could find the needle in a haystack of film and the fun in a humorless moment. I've always loved her story (quoted in Peter Biskind's Beatty bio, Star ) about complimenting Beatty on the "modern" language of the Reds screenplay, which honored the historical character of journalist John Reed, but was relatable to 1980s audiences. Beatty's response: "Dede, this is not Warren Beatty as John Reed, this is John Reed as Warren Beatty!" She knew what movie stars were and made them twinkle brightly as the films they were in.
Your favorite movie in the Allen filmography? While The Hustler and Bonnie and Clyde are most influential, for me her work on Sidney Lumet's Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon is unbeatable.

Interviewer: We were in the gay parade over the weekend and lots of these guys were talking about "CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S ALBUM! OMG!!" What's it like for you, much like Cher was, Bette Midler, Liza Minelli, like you are the newest gay icon that gay men look up to?
CA: Aw thanks. It's amazing to have that kind of energy and that kind of fans 'cause it's a whole different sort of breed and feel of energy when you perform for them. And they're hardcore fans, man. Their love for you doesn't die. So it feels amazing. And I definitely--I mean, if I have that following they're gonna love the album too because it definitely speaks to them as well in a lot of songs.
(CNN) -- A razor blade sitting in a blood-splattered bathroom sink. A bacteria-infested toilet seat that wouldn't be welcome in a gas station. But that's exactly what the creative team behind The Meth Project's public service announcements intended. Their graphic, hard-hitting campaign is meant to educate people about the dangers of using methamphetamine, an addictive drug that can severely alter a person's brain activity.

Beckett's new love interest on Castle isn't the only obstacle to a Castle-Beckett pairing.
Monet Mazur will return as Gina Cowell, Castle's ex-wife and book editor, in the Season 2 finale, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
Cowell, who last appeared in the show's pilot, turns up because Castle (Nathan Fillion) has fallen behind on his latest book. Gina hopes to get Castle back on track — in more ways than one.
The old flame will be rekindled, creating some interesting reactions from Beckett (Stana Katic). However, Gina's reappearance may just open both Beckett's and Castle's eyes.
Castle's season finale airs May 17 at 10/9c on ABC.

Michael C Hall has been bravely battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma and it looks like he is definitely winning the fight. RadarOnline.com is glad to be able to bring you the pictures that show the Dexter star looking hearty and healthy once again.
Hall, who lost all his hair due to chemotherapy treatments, and appeared frail and sickly at the Golden Globe awards just months ago, was spotted on location as he returned to work Monday. The actor was kitted out in a very convincing wig as he filmed scenes for his upcoming movie, East Fifth Bliss.
Movie goers will be in for a surprise, as the film is a comedy, a distinct change of pace from Michael C Hall's Dexter character - who is a vicious, though moralistic, serial killer.

As bittersweet as the impending Lost finale has to be for all concerned, it's bittersweeter for Ian Somerhalder. As Flight 815 survivor Boone Carlyle, he brooded, nursed a weird crush on his stepsister, then became the first of the gang to die. Somerhalder says J. J. Abrams picked the right moment to tell him he'd been killed off: "I was in wine country, man, with a beautiful girl. I said to J.J., 'Your timing is impeccable. If I'd been at a Denny's I would have started crying.' I downed a couple bottles of Pinot and I was set." Things have worked out okay for Somerhalder—he may play Boone in at least one more "flash-sideways" this month before Lost wraps up, and he's now drinking fine reds on the regular as a 150-year-old undead hunk on the CW's Vampire Diaries. There are worse fates, he says, than being accosted in airports by obsessed fans of two different TV shows: "The decibel level at which a 13-year-old can explain how much she loves you—it's the coolest thing ever."
