WTF - Jermaine Jackson's Kid Gunnin' For His Bro

Katherine Jackson and her people insist the incident involving Jermaine Jackson's son Jaafar and the stun gun was an isolated event -- but TMZ has obtained a home movie that shows Jaafar is no stranger to guns.

The scene -- which appears to have been shot several months ago -- begins with Jaafar (left) barging into Jermajesty's room, gun drawn, and then ordering his little brother to get on the ground. Jaafar pushes Jermajesty to the ground, pretends to pistol-whip him, handcuffs him and then gives the youngster an incomplete version of his Miranda rights.

Jaafar then tells his brother, "Don't move or I'll bust your head open."

Jaafar then cocks the gun, points it to Jermajesty's head, pulls the trigger and you hear the click. Jermajesty plays dead and Jaafar drags him by the leg out of the room.

TMZ decided not to post the video.

As for the stun gun incident, sources tell TMZ Jaafar pointed the weapon at two of Michael Jackson's kids -- Blanket and Prince -- but the family insists the two kids weren't even in the same room.

Our sources say the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services are still reviewing the stun gun incident.

Seriously, wtf is going on at that house? Jermaine, come pick up your kids. You have a house, don't you? Why is your 80 year old mother dealing with them instead of their father? Obviously they aren't be watched that well . . . =/

Matthew Morrison not happy with Elle interview

If fans of Matthew Morrison were taken aback by a December Elle interview (posted here) that seemed to obsess on the straight actor's sexual orientation, they couldn't have been more thrown than Morrison himself.

The interview duly noted the "Glee" star's assertion that "I'm not gay," but the reporter went on to say, "I had indeed read in various places that you're straight, but in light of the circumstantial evidence, I wasn't sure."

The questions put Morrison, a Broadway veteran who grew up singing and dancing, in the uncomfortable position of explaining that he wasn't "insulted or angry" about people assuming he is gay.

"That was, like, the worst interview I've ever done, and it kind of turned me off from doing interviews completely, because that guy was such a d**k," Morrison reveals to Zap2it. "It just turned into like a verbal sparring match and I was trying to be polite to him, but just right off the bat he came out with all these crazy accusations and stuff. So I was like, 'Ok, buddy... .'  I was completely caught off-guard."

Winnie Cooper is pregnant

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Danica McKellar and her husband of one year, Mike Verta, are expecting their first child this fall.

"I'm nearing the end of my first trimester and I'm so excited – I've been bursting to tell people," says McKellar, 35, who played Winnie on The Wonder Years, tells PEOPLE exclusively.

However, she originally put off confirming her suspicions. "I was in the middle of a really intense deadline for my book," explains McKellar, whose third tome, Hot X: Algebra Exposed, comes out in August.

"I wanted to put off the [pregnancy] test because I didn't want any distractions. That only lasted a day – I couldn't stop thinking about it and I caved! You can't try to put that off."

Initially, even McKellar herself couldn't believe the news. "When you do the take the home pregnancy test, it doesn't quite seem real," notes the mathematician and mom-to-be. "But when you see the baby and the heartbeat on the ultrasound, it's so incredible."

"Me and Mike looked at each other and we could not stop the tears,"
she says. "We are so happy."

Nicole Sullivan Unveils Her Bikini Body, Thanks to Jenny Craig

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Five months ago she announced her plan to drop 35 lbs. with Jenny Craig, and after 16 weeks on the program, Nicole Sullivan has met her goal!

On March 22 — just one month before her 40th birthday — the Rita Rocks comedienne will showcase her better-than-before-baby bikini body in a national commercial spot — just like her successful predecessor Valerie Bertinelli.

“I am beyond thrilled with my success on the Jenny Craig program,” the mom-of-two said. “After having Beckett, I dreamed of a day where I’d feel comfortable enough in a swimsuit, let alone a bikini, to join my husband on pool-side play dates. Getting into a bikini again and feeling as good as I feel now.”

The best thing about dropping the weight? “[Now] my two children will always see Mommy as healthy! And my husband Jason can’t be more thrilled; he’s lost 25 pounds of ‘sympathy weight’ to boot.”

And the funny lady, a MADtv alum, tells PEOPLE that there is one more fun bonus: shopping! “I went in and bought a pair of size 4 pants and I don’t ever remember doing that — maybe when I was 21 [years-old]. I feel like the world has opened up to me. Does a lot of it have to do with fun clothes? Yeah, but you know what? Women love fun clothes. It’s a big deal to us. I feel like I can wear anything in my closet. And I can buy stuff that’s really cute.”

Coco and FOX inching closer to a deal

Fox Broadcasting is inching closer to bringing Conan O'Brien back to late night.

Key Fox executives, including Rupert Murdoch, are on board with the plan and would like to finalize a deal in coming weeks so they can make a splash on May 17 when the network unveils its fall lineup. Several significant issues remain and the Fox talks could fall apart, according to people close to the negotiations who asked anonymity because the discussions were meant to be private.

But people close to O'Brien are cautiously optimistic.

GQ Responds to Rielle Hunter's Sexy Photo Spread

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
John Edwards' mistress Rielle Hunter said that she thought the photo spread in GQ would include headshots and not just sexy, body-baring photos.

"Rielle is a smart woman. She knows what she wore and what she was doing in the photo shoot," said GQ reporter Lisa DePaulo.

Hunter, a one-time videographer for Edwards' presidential campaign, posed for the pictures wearing only a man's button down white shirt, a string of pearls and panties. In some of the photos she is posed on a bed with stuffed animals piled around her. Her panties are peeking out in one frame.

A teary Hunter told ABC News' Barbara Walters she was repulsed by the sight of the sexy photos and thought all but one would be headshots, Walters said.

But GQ released a video of the shoot to "GMA" today and at one point the videographer asks Hunter, "You want to take a look at this?"

Despite the provocative nature of the photos and her comments in the interview, Edwards has so far remained silent.

Jessica Simpson Works With Billy Corgan On New Song

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Not only is Jessica Simpson returning to the world of reality TV for her new docu-series, "The Price of Beauty," but she's also giving fans some new music, thanks to the show's theme song, "Who We Are." Simpson worked with Billy Corgan, Evan Bogart, Shari Short and Kerry Brown on the track and said it really embraces the show's theme about loving the person you are.

"I ended up writing the song with some friends and it was about all these places that I'd gone to and the experience that I had," she told MTV News about the track written specifically for the show. The tune reflects what she learned as she traveled the globe and observed that different cultures find different things beautiful. "It's about the beauty of who we are and embracing that and knowing that we are all authentic — that every single person is different," she added. "But they all have something different about themselves that they need to discover."

In the song, Simpson seems to answer critics with lines like "We're beautiful/ Our flaws and all/ They're beautiful to me/ It's who we are, who we are/ It's who we're meant to be."

Filming the show also gave Simpson the power to silence her critics and the voices in her head. "I view the world very differently," she said. "Everything's not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, and that's a really great place to be in. I know there's nothing that anybody can say about me that will take me to a very low place, because I am stronger."

Lady GaGa arriving to Sydney Airport March 17th

Continuing her travels down under, Lady GaGa was spotted arriving at Sydney International Airport in Sydney, Australia earlier today (March 17).

The “Bad Romance” songstress looked a bit tuckered out as she made her way through the terminal with two Diet Coke cans woven into her hairdo.

In related news, GaGa nearly collapsed at the end of her Saturday night concert in Auckland, New Zealand, sparking concerns over her well-being.

But it’s all good, according to her tour rep. "[She is] totally fine. It was warm at the show, she was tired and bit dehydrated by the end of a two-hour-plus performance. She performed the second Auckland show the following night without an issue and will be back in full match fitness for her first Australian show."

Muse to play SXSW

Arena prog rockers Muse will perform a club show at Stubb's in Austin, TX as part of the South by Southwest Music Festival, Billboard has learned. Although the band's label representatives at Warner Music say that no show is confirmed, multiple Billboard sources have confirmed the band will perform on Saturday (Mar. 20) on a bill that also includes Canadian pop rock band Metric.

Muse just performed a sold out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City last Friday (Mar. 5).

The number of major, established artists announced to perform at SXSW is notably less than in years past, with Courtney Love's revived Hole, Motörhead, Spoon, Band of Horses, Tom Morello's Street Sweeper Social Club and the unusual pairing of the Wallflowers' Jakob Dylan and alt-country favorite Neko Case leading a pack of more than 1500 bands and musicians set to perform during the annual five night event that fills every last performance space in the Texas capital.

Also rumored to appear are rapper Ludacris and the chart-topping group Black Eyed Peas, both of whom may show up at the Levi's/FADER Fort, although they remain unconfirmed.
(Muse and Fergie on the same stage??? LMAO)

The annual SXSW music festival runs from Mar. 17-21.

Terry McGinnis returns in comic book form.

You heard us mention a while back that Paul Levitz would be writing a Batman Beyond-centric SUPERMAN/BATMAN annual in June — but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Terry McGinnis, the Batman of the future who is guided by an elderly Bruce Wayne in his efforts to protect Neo Gotham.

Starting in June, BATMAN BEYOND — a six-issue mini-series from writer Adam Beechen (who’s no stranger to animated characters, having worked on The Batman series a few years back) and artist Ryan Benjamin — will pit the future Dark Knight against his own past, as a dangerous force has begun to target Bruce Wayne’s old foes. Can Wayne’s past put Terry’s future in danger?

Not sure, gang. Let’s check in with Adam Beechen himself. Take it away, Adam:

“The dark future of the legendary animated series comes to the DCU in a six-issue miniseries, as Terry McGinniss, Bruce Wayne’s young successor as Batman, faces his deadliest foe yet — a mystery murderer from the Dark Knight’s past! Old faces return, new allies and enemies step into the light, and the partnership between Terry and Bruce — not to mention Terry and Bruce themselves — might not survive!

Thanks, Adam! And for good measure, we’ve got the cover to the first issue, from superstar artist Dustin Nguyen above.

A Hard Night with the World's Funniest Woman

+ The best doughnut? That's Peter Pan doughnuts in Brooklyn. It's a Polish bakery. We shot nearby once for 30 Rock. It's a white-cream-filled powdered doughnut. And I really believe, when I first tried it, if I had a penis, I would put it in this doughnut. I finally understand what you guys are thinking about and what motivates you guys
+ My four-year-old daughter has a pretend hair-and-nail salon, and I was doing her hair and makeup. I said, "Hello ma'am. What's your name? And what do you do?" And she said, "I get paid to dance at parties." And I said, "Oh, no. That's a terrible, terrible answer."
+ She says she looks like Barack Obama. I think she heard so many people at that time saying I looked like Sarah Palin, I think she was just trying to get in on that. "I look like Barack Obama." Okay. Sure.
+ Twitter seems like a busman's holiday: just more writing. I have no plans to do it. I'll just stick with my 24/7 webcam. I'm old-fashioned that way.
+ Plots we would not do on 30 Rock? Let me put the Internet at ease: Liz and Jack will never be together. Not even if we go fifteen seasons. Okay, if we get to season fifteen, they'll do it.
+ I think my level of fame will drop back down. I think it'll recede. In fact, I know it will. That's life on planet earth. And I'm okay with that. Besides getting tables at restaurants and special treatment at the airport, what else is there?
+ What goes into a Sarah Palin impression? For me, it was a wig. And gluing down my ears. When I wear that half-up hairdo, my ears stick out. Also overdrawing my lips to make it look like I have bigger lips. Then there's the Minnesooota Fargo kind of accent. Ya know? And the o's, and the that, and all that. And smiling when you talk.
+ I feel that if I do it again, people will be like, 'Oh, wait a minute. That's terrible! You never really could do it, could you?'
+ I've got to write that book. I've had very little time to work on it. It will be hopefully humorous essays. Not about my neck. It's actually mostly about how I feel about Nora Ephron's neck. And I feel great about it. I want her to feel better about it. It's better than mine.
+ What I've come to realize is that when people say, 'The thinking man's whatever' — there's no such thing. The thinking man also wants to fuck Megan Fox.
+ My parents are going to be like, 'Why did you curse that much in that Esquire article?'

More of Tina's wisdom (and Tina gone wild) in the new issue.

Coco on the Road

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Conan O’Brien hasn’t wasted any time trying find new and exciting things to do since his departure from “The Tonight Show.” The comedian, writer, and former host has decided to hit the road on a comedy tour that will allow him to interact with fans and have a little fun at the same time. According to a report from Deadline, his latest venture might even be recorded and produced as a feature length documentary.

Mike Fleming is hearing that O’Brien’s 30 city live comedy/music revue entitled “The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour” will be the source material for a film. Media Rights Capital are currently looking to find a financier and Rodman Flender is in talks to direct. Tickets for his shows have been selling like hotcakes so we know there’s still interest in Conan and his wacky antics.

Another plus side to this revue is the income it will generate for O’Brien’s former staff. When he received his 33 million dollar settlement from NBC, he gave 12 million to his staff and he’s been helping them get back on their feet since they were let go from the show. Many of them uprooted from their New York homes, and took their kids out of school to follow the host to LA only to get the shaft. This documentary sounds like a good idea, and I really hope it works because these people need any gig they can get.

Would you be interested in seeing a doc about Conan O’Brien’s tour?

omg yes. I love documentaries, I love Conan, and I'm seeing him on this tour. This is perfect

Mullethead Sings Mario's 'Let Me Love You' on 'Ellen'

Ousted "American Idol" contestant Alex Lambert appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" yesterday and discussed his surprising elimination from the show before the Top 12. Lambert, who was a favorite of the judges, said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he originally intended to sing Mario's "Let Me Love You" during his last performance show before changing his mind and performing Ray LaMontagne's "Trouble."

"['Let Me Love You'] was a song a lot of people didn’t know," Lambert said, "so I went with my second choice because one of the producers was telling me, 'If you do this song, you’ll get more votes." (Funnily enough, Mario's "Let Me Love You" was the #8 song of the last decade according to Billboard Magazine.)

Watch Lambert sit down with Ellen and discuss his time on "Idol," as well as perform the song that could have saved him from elimination last week. (The performance starts around the 2:00 mark.)

TV Ratings Tuesday

The night’s dominant show, American Idol, was down just 2% from last week to an 8.0 adults 18-49 rating. For the Idol fans keeping track at home, the show’s down just 6% season to date in the important adults 18-49 ratings.

ABC’s Lost fell yet again, down 10% from last week to a season low, and tied for a regular episode series low, 3.8 adults 18-49 rating. The FlashForward clip show at 10pm scored just a 1.6, although I don’t think that’s particularly predictive of what will happen on Thursday’s new episode return.

NCIS was down 11% to a season low 3.4 adults 18-49 rating. NCIS:LA fell 9% from last week to a 3.2 rating, and The Good Wife was down 4% to a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating.

The Biggest Loser was down 10% to a season low 2.7 rating. Parenthood fell 12% to a new low with a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.

Somehow, the CW shows escaped the general downdraft. 90210 was up 12% to a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating, while Melrose Place rose 20% to a still squinty small 0.6 adults 18-49 rating.

fashion monster Karl Lagerfeld opposes gay marriage & more

Toronto filmmaker slash smarty-pants smut-monger Bruce LaBruce’s Q&A with designer Karl Lagerfeld in Vice has been circulating around the fashion media, even getting a mention in Shinan Govani’s column today. For the time crunched, 10 highlights from the seven-page interview.

1. Lagerfeld opposes the idea of gay marriage: “I’m against it for a very simple reason: in the ’60s, they all said we had the right to the difference. And now, suddenly, they want a bourgeois life.” LaBruce agrees.

2. Lagerfeld’s motivation to lose weight: "Well, there came this new line from Hedi Slimane at Dior that you needed to be slim to wear. It said, “You want this? Go back to your bones.” And so I lost it all. I lost 88 pounds and never got them back.

3. Lagerfeld doesn’t want to hear people talk about their charitable endeavors: "Be politically correct, but please don’t bother other people with conversation about being politically correct, because that’s the end of everything. You want to create boredom? Be politically correct in your conversation… It means people talking about charities. Do it, be charitable, but don’t make a subject of conversation out of it because then you bore the world to death. It’s very unpleasant. But I don’t go out a lot, so I’m not so exposed to people."

David Byrne & St Vincent to collabo

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

David Byrne reported from his website journal this week, via Pitchfork, that he is currently doing some writing with St. Vincent's Annie Clark. Byrne sat in with Clark at her January 29th show at the Allen Room in New York, where the pair performed a song they had previously worked up. But Byrne now reports that there are "eight or so" songs currently in some stage of collaborative development. Due to Clark's current touring commitments, the project has been proceeding in "fits and starts," but it seems that at least one song is already largely developed. At her suggestion, the pair is even working with a brass ensemble.

Of course, Byrne is no stranger to collabs. His last album, 2008's Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, was a collaboration with Brian Eno, and he has a new LP with Fatboy Slim, entitled Here Lies Love, out on Todomundu/Nonesuch on April 6th. Byrne sheds some light on the creative processes behind those albums as well in his journal entry. Interestingly, Fatboy Slim's Norman Cook goes by "Norm," which brings to mind more of the loveable Cheers lug than the electro pioneer, but I digress.

If those weren't enough, Byrne also talked about how he's working with TV on the Radio producer Dave Sitek, Petra Haden, and Yuka Honda.

As for the Byrne/Clark tracks, there is no timetable for their release, or even for their eventual completion, but Byrne has admitted to arranging some brass and even sending Clark some lyrics. Here's hoping the two can find some time in the not-too-distant future. ( /

We would go for a long walk by the sea with our dogs near our house in Wales followed by a nice pub lunch. Then we'd go back to the house, dry the dogs off and watch Enchanted.

What would you do if you ruled the world?
I would sit all of the world leaders down in one room together in their underpants and let them see each other exposed. Then I would have someone come in and tell them how they are screwing everything up, before letting them fight it out. They'd have a mud wrestle.

Toy Story 3 Previewed at ShoWest in Vegas -- Declared a Triumph

Post is now updated with MORE mini reviews of the ShoWest Preview!

Jim Hill ( reports in from Las Vegas. Where earlier today (Tuesday, March 16) he got to see the work-in-progress version of this long awaited Pixar sequel.

Jim Hill: ...I just saw “Toy Story 3” at its ShoWest screening (which was held in Le Theatre Des Arts at the Paris Las Vegas)...(Director) Lee Unkrich and his team did “Toy Story 3” big. ...Lots of really important things do happen in this terrific sequel to the first two “Toy Story” films.

...(Although) Unkrich did ask those of us in attendance to tweet, Facebook, however we wanted to spread the word about what we thought of Pixar’s latest production...Lee also asked all those who saw today’s work-in-progress screening of “Toy Story 3” to not reveal any key plot points. And given what a brilliant job the folks at Pixar did with this motion picture, I feel genuinely obliged to honor Ukrich’s request.

So what can I tell you about “Toy Story 3” without revealing any significant surprises? Well, for starters, you should bring Kleenex. Lots & lots of Kleenex. Because I can guarantee you that you’re going to spend a good portion of the last 30 minutes of this film in tears.

While a trailer for director Adam McKay’s The Other Guys has yet to be released, a Sony video stand at ShoWest has a brief look at the interaction between Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. In the film, the two plays cops that never get in on any of the good cases. But when an opportunity arises for “The Other Guys” to step up, things don’t quite go as planned.

As a huge fan of Ferrell and McKay’s last films (Step Brothers, Anchorman, and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby), I cannot wait for this August when the film is getting released. Hit the jump to check out the 30 second clip.

Set in New York City, The Other Guys follows Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell), a forensic accountant who’s more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets, and Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city’s top cops, Danson and Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don’t quite go as planned.

The Other Guys also stars Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan, Ray Stevenson, Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson.

And if you can’t hear the very end, Ferrell says, “that’s a thousand dollar gun and you’re paying for it.”

Bryan Batt Talks Sal's 'Mad Men' Fate, Hollywood's Gay Problem

Bryan Batt Talks Sal's 'Mad Men' Fate, Hollywood's Gay Problem

Bryan Batt's 'Mad Men' contract wasn't renewed for Season 4, but he's still hoping Salvatore Romano has some more life left.

"Matt doesn't kill characters like on 'The Sopranos,' so I'm not dead," Batt told the Huffington Post, referencing the show's creator, Matthew Weiner, and his last hit series. "But I agree that with what happened at Sterling Cooper he had to be fired."

What happened, in case it's been a few months since you watched the apparent end of his story arc in Season 3 (out on DVD March 23), is a timely lesson in the politics of fear and greed of the early 1960s. Late at night in the editing room Sal rebuffs the advances of Lee Garner Jr., the twangy son of a Lucky Strike magnate, so Lee orders him fired. Don Draper swiftly sacks Sal to keep the $25 million account, sneering "you people" out of the side of his mouth and suggesting Sal should have delivered to the client.

That's not how Sal envisioned confronting his sexuality.

Not iamamiwhoami: Goldfrapp's bitchy response

Who is Iamamiwhoami? Not Goldfrapp, Evidently
Wednesday March 17, 2010

This year, the internet has been literally heaving with consternation concerning the identity of mysterious viral-video identity Iamamiwhoami. An elaborately-executed, evidently-expensive, carefully-choreographed marketing campaign shrouded in secrecy, the series of amusingly arty videos have driven know-it-alls mad with their deliberate anonymity.

Scuttlebutt has suggested an array of Swedes —Jonna Lee, Lykke Li, The Knife— and, crazily, Christina Aguilera as possible perps, as well as English electro sirens Little Boots and Goldfrapp. I'm guessing it's far more likely to be an unknown (or, at least, a new collaboration) than a known name, but, still, when recently speaking to Alison Goldfrapp about her latest LP, Head First, I thought I'd at least see how she felt about the assumption some have had that the Iamamiwhoami mystery was marketing for her new record.

"I've seen one, some thing where some girl's like licking the tree," said Goldfrapp in the interview, mockingly, of the Iamamiwhoami videos. Claiming it was "not [her] aim in life" and a "futile exercise" to deliberately try to create confusion, she merely shrugged at the prospect of being misidentified. "Perhaps if someone was associating us with something really nasty or slanderous, then I might get upset. But, mostly, I just don't care. If people want to say we're behind that girl-licking-the-tree video, that's fine."

Mandy Moore out & about.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Having been keeping a low profile as of late, Mandy Moore was spotted visiting The Urban Pet store in Hollywood, California on Tuesday (March 16).

Looking cute in a striped top with jeans, the "A Walk to Remember" actress busily picked up some new toys and supplies for her three cats before exiting the shop with a bagful of purchases.

On the career end of things, Mandy has been quietly knocking out new movie roles, with her romantic comedy "Swinging with the Finkels" due out later this year.

Co-starring Jonathan Silverman and Melissa George, the film is about "a suburban couple who decide to shake up their marriage by swinging with another couple."

A Marc & Willy spin-off???

From the minute it premiered, Michael Urie and his fabulous (that's TV code for gay) character Marc St. James have been two of PopWrap's favorite things about "Ugly Betty." So when I caught up with the actor at Saturday's GLAAD Media Awards, where his off-Broadway show "The Temperamentals" was being honored, the topic quickly turned to the end of "Betty."

"Oh god, I've been on the verge of tears for a week," he tells PopWrap of their cancelation. "We just had our second-to-last table read, everyone was a little teary." And the emotions keep coming as final chapter markers keep cropping up.

"We've all started acknowledging 'this is our last this, this is the last time we'll do that.' It's going to be so hard to film my last scene with Vanessa [L. Williams], I'm going to be a mess for that."

How "Ugly Betty" plans to wrap up it's fourth and final season is still a mystery -- even to the actors. "I don't know what happens in the last episode," Michael says, but he naturally has some ideas!

"I would love for Marc to find someone, but what I really want is for Marc and Wilhelmina's relationship to continue professionally. More than anything else, I feel that they belong together at Mode, running things."

Hmm, that sounds like a good idea for a spin-off, don't you think? "Yes, definitely," Michael concurs before grabbing my recorder, leaning in close and saying, "are you listening? Are you listening?"

ngl, I'd watch!

Emma Watson was more nervous about appearing in her university’s play than anything else she has done.
The 19-year-old Harry Potter actress stars in one of the biggest film franchises of all time, but was still terrified when she took to the stage in Brown University’s production of Anton Chekov’s Three Sisters last weekend. It seems Emma’s anxiety was unfounded as her classmates say she put in a “faultless” performance, and she received a standing ovation from the audience.
"Emma was nervous beforehand but was faultless in her role,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. "She has been juggling coursework with rehearsals and learning lines so she's had a lot on her plate."
The play was put on by the college’s non-profit student theatre group. Tickets were free, but only staff and students were invited to protect Emma from being mobbed by fans. The theatre was full to capacity all three nights of the play, and Emma was thrilled to be so well received.
Emma was over the moon that every show was a full house,” the source added. “She also made some new friends while doing it

She told Absolute Radio DJ Geoff Lloyd: "We've been writing this second album on this tour. But it's funny -we don't have a studio and we have less equipment than we had before and the sound of the refrigerator is constant in almost all of our recordings so we're kind of going backwards!

"The last album was recorded in a synagogue, this one's being recorded in various places with lots of humming and clacking sounds in the background."

The Trouble With Johnny

Johnny Weir will always be an attention-seeking brat who loves to wear fur. But he’s also the best thing to ever happen to men’s figure skating.
By Andrew Harmon

“U awake?”

This text message came from Johnny Weir at 2:30 a.m. on March 4. I’ve grown accustomed to receiving middle-of-the-night missives from the figure skater, pretty much every time I try to schedule an interview, which has been five times in the past five years. And while I’ve enjoyed the electronic give-and-take, I have a pathetic track record — 40% — when it comes to actually landing the interview. (We’ve spoken twice on the record — once for a Los Angeles Times piece about male figure skating costumes and a second time to get Weir’s response for an story on the death threats he’d received as a result of the fur he’d used in his costumes prior to the Vancouver Olympics.)

Jessica Simpson's new show fails hard in the ratings

Despite heavy promotion, the ratings for Jessica Simpson's VH1 reality show The Price of Beauty were, well, pretty ugly.

Monday's premiere attracted just 1 million viewers, has confirmed. Around 487,000 people tuned in for the encore later in the night.

The show got beat by a rerun of NCIS on USA, a TruTV series called Operation Repo and History Channel's Pawn Stars, The Los Angeles Times notes.

Even former American Idol Fantasia Barrino had a stronger debut for her VH1 reality show, Fantasia For Real. (Her show premiere nabbed 2.3 million viewers.)

Reviews for The Price of Beauty -- which featured Simpson, 29, and her pals traveling around the world to learn how other cultures define beauty -- were mixed.

The New York Post called it "dopey and clueless," while the San Diego Union Tribune said it was "sweet on the outside and a little empty on the inside."

A VH1 rep tells Us: "We're very pleased with the show. A million-and-a-half viewers tuned in that night to see the first episode. We expect that audience to build even more.";_ylt=ApC2m9HJDZ.9jbXBDU1hNaus0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTFpaWpxbHFiBHBvcwM1BHNlYwN5bl9wcm9tb3NfZW50ZXJ0YWlubWVudARzbGsDamVzc2ljYXNpbXBz

White British actresses told to leave Bollywood

I feel your pain, Kylie. (And, yes, I know she's Australian, but she's featured in this article and in a Bollywood item number.)

Stars including Alice Patten, the daughter of Lord Patten of Barnes, and Hazel Crowney, a former model from Kent, have been accused of stealing jobs from local girls.

Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), a Mumbai nationalist street gang and political party which inspires terror throughout the city, has called on foreign white actresses to go home.

His campaign for a ban on the estimated 1,000 British and other foreign actors who regularly appear in Bollywood films has been widely criticised but many foreign actors are too afraid to speak out.

Thackeray is especially feared in Bollywood, where he has the power to shut productions and close cinemas.

The campaign for a ban comes as increasing numbers of European and South American actresses are finding roles in Bollywood movies.

In the last few years, Kylie Minogue and Denise Richards have appeared in major Indian films. Miss Patten starred in Rang De Basanti, one of the most popular Bollywood films of recent years, while Minogue appeared in a raunchy song and dance scene called Chiggy Wiggy in the film Blue with action hero Akshay Kumar.

It has also become increasingly common for Hollywood stars like Sylvester Stallone and Superman star Brandon Routh to take cameo roles in Bollywood productions to boost their appeal.

This international approach could now be threatened because producers and directors fear Raj Thackeray will ruin their films if they do not comply.

The campaign to ban foreign actors was launched last week after the MNS raided a the set of Crooked, starring Amitabh Bachchan, India's most famous star, and demanded to see the work permits of 136 foreign actors and actresses.

The MNS holds seats in the Mumbai region but its strength comes from its activists who are regarded by many as violent street thugs. Its supporters have launched violent attacks on rickshaw drivers from other parts of India and threatened organisations which retain the name 'Bombay' instead of 'Mumbai.'

1 in 10 students think first man on the moon was Buzz Lightyear

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

By Scott Edelman | 3/16/10

Who was the first man to walk on the moon? Apparently, 1 out of 10 U.K. schoolchildren thought it was Toy Story's Buzz Lightyear, and not Neil Armstrong, who took that first one small step for man, The London Telegraph reported.

OK, so maybe their confusion makes a little sense. After all, the second man to walk on the moon was Buzz Aldrin.

Buzz Aldrin, Buzz Lightyear ... easy to get them mixed up, right?

But that doesn't explain the other answers given by 1,000 primary and secondary school children who had been tested in advance of National Science and Engineering Week. Other candidates given as possible moon men were Sir Richard Branson, cyclist Lance Armstrong and even Star Wars' Luke Skywalker.

"While some findings raise a smile, it suggests that school children aren't tuned into our scientific heroes in the same way that they might be to sporting or music legends," said Dr. Pam Waddell, of Birmingham Science City.

As for the fact that a third of boys thought Isaac Newton discovered fire, well ... we can't figure that one out either.

Ian McKellen says The Hobbit will start filming in June

Last year Ian McKellen said that he expected to be heading to New Zealand to start filming The Hobbit in March, however since then auditions have been taking place and Peter Jackson said in December that the aim now is to start filming in June. McKellen, who will once again be playing Gandalf the Grey, updated his website recently confirming the June start.
THE HOBBIT’s, two films, start shooting in New Zealand in June. Filming will take over a year. Casting in Los Angeles, New York City and London has started. The script too proceeds. The first draft is crammed with old and new friends, again on a quest in Middle Earth.

The director Guillermo del Toro is now living in Wellington, close to the Jacksons’ and the studio in Miramar.
I guess this means we will finally be getting some casting news over the upcoming months, with the actor chosen to play Bilbo Baggins being the most important. Along with McKellen Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving may be returning to play Galadriel and Elrond, and there will also be a number of Dwarves that need to be cast.

In other Hobbit news posted a story saying “an industry insider was adamant The Hobbit would be filmed in 3D and Weta Digital – which won an Oscar for its work on Avatar – would be working on the project.” We’ve had 3D talk regarding The Hobbit for a while, and director Guillermo del Toro recently mentioned that he and the studio were having discussions about it.

Also in the March 23 episode, Sarah doesn't know how to talk to Drew when he starts showing signs of becoming a man. Meanwhile, Jabbar has a little accident while under Crosby's watch and Julia and Joel are hesitant to let Amber baby-sit for them.

Portia de Rossi Kicks Off Feral Cat Campaign

Actress Portia de Rossi and Alley Cat Allies, the national advocate for stray and feral cats, have launched a print public service announcement campaign. The ads feature de Rossi, star of the ABC comedy “Better Off Ted,” declaring herself an “Alley Cat Ally,” and a supporter of Alley Cat Allies’ major campaign to raise awareness about the millions of Americans who care for stray and feral cats in their communities.

“We are delighted to have Portia de Rossi on board to represent the individuals from all walks of life who share compassion for these cats,” said Becky Robinson, president of Alley Cat Allies, a national organization dedicated to protecting the lives and promoting the well-being of feral and stray cats, and an authority on trap-neuter-return.

“I’m very happy to be involved with Alley Cat Allies and their efforts to help stray and feral cats,” said de Rossi. “The trap-neuter-return approach is the only way to help contain the populations and save their lives.”

Robinson cited a national survey by Harris Interactive that found that more than 40 percent of Americans have fed a stray cat in their lives, and one out of five has done so in the past year. “Millions of Americans have opened their hearts and wallets to stray and feral cats," she said.

Feral cats are not socialized to people and prefer to live in family groups called colonies. Because they are not adoptable, they are almost always killed in animal shelters.

Robinson noted that many communities across the country have adopted TNR programs, in which feral cats are humanely trapped, brought to a veterinarian to be neutered and vaccinated and returned to their outdoor home.

De Rossi has also starred in the TV series "Nip/Tuck," "Arrested Development" and "Ally McBeal."

Forest Whitaker Discusses 'Criminal Minds' Spin-Off + Photos from his episode

"He's doing it for the kids.

Fresh from wrapping up work on the pilot of the Criminal Minds spin-off, Oscar winner Forest Whitaker tells Jam that he's doing the tentatively titled Minds 2.0 because the gig allows him time with his kids.

"They approached me at the right time -- I have two children who are 11 and 13, and I want to see them," says Whitaker, whose The Last King of Scotland role earned him the Academy Award Best Actor plum in 2007.

He adds that he doesn't find the commitment of doing a series stifling and vows that it won't mean the end of his movie career.

"I'll do whatever. I'll do a video. I'll go direct. I just like to create. And I'm having a great time on the show," he says. "I won't do as many movies. I'll do one a year; I'll try not to do two. So one movie a year -- that's what most of my peers do anyway.""

MLK Jr. cast for Lee Daniels' biopic

While Lee Daniels' Civil Rights drama Selma started off with the least-expected casting -- Hugh Jackman -- the roster has slingshot back to the top spot. The Hollywood Reporter posts that Daniels has picked British actor David Oyelowo to play Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. While Oyelowo does have a decent number of roles to his name -- such as Dr. Junju in The Last King of Scotland and Orlando in the sumo-twisted As You Like It (I'm serious -- sumo Shakespeare, check it out.) -- this will surely be the actor's chance at a break-away, name-making gig.

Not an all-out King biopic, the film will focus on the historic, 1965 marches in Selma, Alabama, where a march for voting rights turned into a ghastly affair with the local and state police that was dubbed "Bloody Sunday." Jackman, the first released cast member, will play a racist sheriff. As for the rest of the potential players, that seems to be under wraps. THR's post suggests the rest of the cast has been picked, as they note: "The part of Alabama Gov. George Wallace remains up for grabs."

Unfortunately, it seems that Pathe International, the financier, could be scaling back its involvement, so hopefully any money woes get straightened out soon. In the meantime, you can catch Oyelowo in George Lucas' upcoming Tuskegee Airman feature, Red Tails. For those familiar with Oyelowo's work, what do you think of this casting?

Uh-oh. Cue the wank that it's a British guy. Personally, I think if he's a good enough actor, then he should get the part, but I'm sure many will disagree.

"Oh my God! Yes! I was out with some friends when I first got back to L.A. the other night, and someone came up to me, and they were one of the owners of [L.A. hotpot] Trousdale," she told MTV News at South by Southwest while promoting her upcoming movie "Skateland." "I go, 'Really, well, Lady Gaga's over there. Can you make it happen?'

"He walks back and goes, 'Yeah, she'd love to meet you.' And I was freaking out," she continued. "There's not too many people I get starstruck by, but I think she's such an incredible woman, and everything she touches turns to gold. So, I was starstruck."

As it turned out, Gaga was also familiar with Greene's. "I said, 'Oh my God, thanks so much for letting me [meet you],' " she said. "She actually said to me, 'I wanted to meet you, and I know who you are.' Maybe we have a 'Twilight' fan on our hands!"

So how did Greene feel about Gaga's "Telephone" video? "It's incredible!" she raved. "It's a mini-movie. It's ridiculous how they did that video."

Hello Friends,

Well my darlings, as I sit down to write to you, we are in the studio working on a brand new song. Ray's laying down some guitar tracks and I must admit, it's kicking my brain in the pants. I can't wait for you guys to hear this stuff, the songs we ended up writing this past month are so far advanced from where I thought this record would end up, it's not even funny.

Let's put it this way... say you had a time machine, and used said time machine to go back in time 1 year, found me, and played me some of the songs we just wrote. I would absolutely say, "you're a liar, and a full blown crazy person"... partly because the technology of a time machine doesn't really exist, but mostly because these new songs are light years ahead of our creative head space last year.

Rupert Grint sleeps in the nude, y'all.

Rupert Grint and Cherrybomb costar Rob Sheehan did few interviews yesterday (including heatworld - where the photo below is from)...

Asked what lengths the pair had gone to to impress a lady and Grint admitted he’d never felt moved enough to woo a prospective partner in an elaborate way. Meanwhile Sheehan quipped that flowers withered and died, so why bother? Too cool for school. But then the 22-year-old confessed he’d bought his girlfriend of a year a Mini for Christmas. Wowsers. She must’ve been chuffed.

Other things we learnt from eavesdropping was that Grint gets sent a lot of PJs from fans in Japan. He’s still not sure why, particularly as he’s never mentioned a love of pajamas, and in fact – possibly erotic exclusive alert – he sleeps in the buff.

We suggested he should have a pajama party, but somehow we doubt he’ll be organising that kind of sleepover any time soon.

As for the stuff Grint and I chatted about for an upcoming episode of ‘From The Red Carpet’, well, you’ll have to wait and see.

But we will say there was talk of nudity (again!), being the first red-headed James Bond and entering the ‘hunky actor pantheon’™ that accommodates the likes of Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron.

Also, when discussing Ron and Hermoine’s blossoming relationship, we may have said the phrase, ‘Oh a bit of tongue action then…’. Good one.

Gerard Butler at the Good Morning America studios

Gerard Butler celebrates St. Patrick’s Day by wearing a giant green leprechaun hat while promoting his new movie, The Bounty Hunter, in New York City on Wednesday morning (March 17).

When asked to describe his perfect date, the 40-year-old actor shared on Good Morning America, “I have a weird ideal first date. It’s either going to be something crazy like you end up jumping on a helicopter and going somewhere mad. Not necessarily a beautiful desert island. A soccer game or something fun! Or simply just walking… New York City is the best place to go on a date… until they invented paparazzi. It’s a little more difficult now.”

You can watch the interview here

And because it totally goes with these pictures, a little info on a new movie he's been shooting where he plays a leprechaun

Last week, word dropped that "There's Something About Mary" co-director Peter Farrelly and a crew of other filmmakers had assembled an insane cast of A-listers for a sketch-comedy film whose inspiration is the wacky 1977 classic "The Kentucky Fried Movie." Stars include Elizabeth Banks, Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber and Gerard Butler.

The names were tantalizing, but next to nothing was revealed about the content of the untitled comedy. But on Tuesday night on the red carpet for the premiere of "The Bounty Hunter," Butler kicked MTV News an amazing description of his role in the film.

Kara DioGuardi Covers 'Women's Health' April 2010

Kara DioGuardi shows off her toned tummy on the cover of Women?s Health magazine's April 2010 issue.

The 39-year-old American Idol judge and songwriter dished on the stories of songs she's written or collaborated on. Check it:

On Rich Girl: I didn't write [this song] with Gwen. [Interscope Geffen A&M chairman] Jimmy Iovine gave me the track, and I hummed some melodies and scatted some words. She loved it and filled it in. I remember getting a call in my car: Jimmy Iovine and Gwen Stefani on the line. Can you take the call?? I practically drove off the road.

On Sober: [Pink] and I opened up a bottle of wine, and it was the greatest game of tennis ever. She would say an amazing line, and I had to say something just as good. We were in sync. We 've all had things in our lives that we should've done without, whether it's drinking, eating, or working too hard. We had a common ground, and I had one of the best nights of my writing life.

On I Do Not Hook Up?: I wrote this with Katy Perry on my kitchen floor. Originally the line was Keep your thing in your pants, your heart on your sleeve, which I really liked. But Kelly changed it to Keep your head in my hand and your heart on your sleeve.

The Best TV Show You're Not Watching (is back this sunday)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Great news: The best show on television is back! That's right, I'm talking about AMC's critically acclaimed drama. No, not "Mad Men" — the other one.

Never seen "Breaking Bad"? Never even heard of it? Sadly, you're not alone.

Despite nine Emmy nominations in its first two seasons — including back-to-back wins by star Bryan Cranston — the gritty, gripping serial tends to be overshadowed by its retro-cool older sibling. And even those who have heard about it can be scared off by its dark subject matter. It is, after all, about a mild-mannered family man who discovers he has terminal cancer and turns to meth manufacturing.

Sandra Bullock cancels London trip after Montreal-raised tattoo model claims she had affair with act

A tattoo model by the name of "Bombshell" McGee has told In Touch magazine that she had an eleven-month affair with Sandra Bullock's husband, Jesse James, while the actress was filming The Blind Side in 2009.

In the interview Michelle McGee says that she was told that James, the star of Monster Garage, and Bullock were no longer together: “I would never have hooked up with him if I thought he was a married man. He gave me the impression they were separated.”

Meanwhile, amid the allegations, Bullock - who won an Oscar this year for her role in The Blind Side - has cancelled her trip to London for the British premiere of the film, which was scheduled for tonight. She released this statement:

"Due to unforeseen personal reasons a trip abroad to support The Blind Side has been deemed impossible at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your continued support of the film."

Celebrity gossip website has published some additional facts about "Bombshell", culled from her personal home page. Calling herself "the busty tattoo goddess of your dreams," she says she grew up in Montreal and is a 3rd-generation French Canadian.

She goes on to brag about her sexual prowess, DD-sized bust and attending two years of medical school.

Before the tabloids get themselves all in a twist, this exclusive photo is of Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake dancing together in a movie — namely, Bad Teacher, which started shooting just nine days ago. (The comedy is due in 2011.) “They obviously know each other really well,” director Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) says of his stars. “They’re good friends, and they’re both incredibly funny people. I couldn’t be more excited about it.”

According to Kasdan, Diaz is playing no less than the worst 7th grade teacher ever. “She’s usually hungover when she gets to school,” he says. “She’s kind of foul mouthed. And she’s completely fixated on trying to afford breast augmentation surgery, and very open about it. She believes it will help her find the right man who will take care of her for the rest of her life.” Enter Timberlake, as a substitute teacher “who happens to be the heir to a watch-making company,” says Kasdan. “She thinks he seems like a good target.” (Jason Segel rounds out the cast as a gym teacher who pines for Diaz’s character.)

Kasdan says Diaz was the first to come aboard the production, and happily signed off on the idea of playing opposite Timberlake. “They have a shared sense of humor,” he says. “It’s easy for them to be funny together. You know where the jokes are.”

Scarlett Johansson's Pain Gain

Scarlett Johansson says she is willing to suffer for beauty as she knows it's worth it in the end.

The stunning actress - who is the face of Spanish fashion label Mango - knows looking good can take hard work but says it's worth it in the end.

She said: "When I was little my mum always said, 'Pain for beauty.' That made me realise that, although the process of getting ready for an event is tedious, in the end it's worth investing the time to have the look you're happiest with."

The 25-year-old beauty - famed for her old-school glamour look - also says it's important to dress in outfits that you feel comfortable in, not whether they're infashion or not.

"I think the most important thing is to look comfortable in yourself and in your own skin, whether you're wearing something crazy, highfashion or casual. As long as you own the look, that's the most important thing."

While she loves clothes, Scarlett admits to being a shoe addict.

She said: "I love shoes. I don't wear heels a lot, but I love them, and have a ton of them. Shoes are so beautiful - I love the way they are made and the way they make you feel."

Fashionable Teabaggin'

Breakfast with Karl and Naomi
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Take your morning tea with Karl Lagerfeld or, if you're in more of a volatile supermodel mood, Naomi Campbell. German novelty company Donkey Products has created "Pret-a-Portea," a hanging teabag collection featuring famous fashion faces. We can't decide if it's charming or off-putting. It sort of looks like teabag-Karl is hot-tubbing it in our Earl Grey.

The collection might be inspired by the famous tea house in London offering fashion-inspired delicacies, but they don't say.

Just let your tea bags steep in hot water, not going over the line of flotation, and you will be able to shoot the moon around designers and models chilling out in jacuzzi-like tea cups.

NEW YORK — Singer and sometimes actress Jessica Simpson has paid the price of beauty, and now she's examining people's obsession with looking good.
She made headlines last year when photos of her performing suggested she might have gained a few pounds. That sparked a national debate on TV news channels, talk shows and in print asking if Simpson was, indeed, fat.
The 29-year-old has decided to turn the tables on questions about how she looked. The result is a new show called, "Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty." The show premiered Monday and will air weekly on VH1.
