Miley Cyrus Organizes Celebrity Online Auction for Haiti
Miley Cyrus has recruited her celebrity pals for a star-studded online auction to benefit earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.
"Ever since the earthquake, I've been trying to do my part to help the people of Haiti – and I wanted to do more," Cyrus tells PEOPLE.
Starting Feb. 8, fans can go to Ebay.com/Miley to bid on the Herve Leger dress the singer wore to the Jan. 31 Grammy Awards as well as two tickets to the Hollywood premiere of her upcoming film, The Last Song (YOW! HOT POTATOES!!)
Cyrus recruited a bevy of famous friends to chip in too: Nicole Richie donated jewelry from her House of Harlow line and Britney Spears offered up the custom silver Versace minidress she wore to 2008's MTV Video Music Awards.
"Everyone has been so generous," says Cyrus, 17. "My mom and I started calling and texting all of our friends to see if they’d like to be a part of the auction. Demi [Lovato] was one of the first to respond. Hugh Jackman was also excited to donate something."
As for Richie's contribution, Cyrus says she relied on some technology to reach out to her. "I texted Nicole and right away she sent over some amazing jewelry and Joel [Madden] sent some of his clothes."
With all proceeds going to the American Red Cross to support emergency relief efforts in Haiti, "I want to get people involved and show that even the little things you can do can make a difference," Cyrus says.
Giving back has also become a family affair.
Miley’s big sister, Brandi, will perform with her band Frank & Derol at Harmonies for Haiti, a charity concert organized by Disney Channel star Chelsea Staub, on Feb. 11 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.
I don't mean to sound bitter. I just am.
All a celebrity has to do to look like they're doing shitloads is to drop off clothes they probably didn't even pay for, as long as their name's attached - whereas if we put in the amount of effort they're doing as of right now - we'd probably be handing in used bobby pins, friendship bracelets or nail clippers or something ...
“A-Rod and Cameron have been totally hooking up,” the insider dishes to OK!, adding in their obvious affection during the CAA party on Saturday night in Miami as further proof of their passion for each other.
OK! brought fans the news yesterday of this super hot Super Bowl couple, who showed off their new chemistry with some hot dance moves while partying it up with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
“Bedrooms” is a comic, sweet and gut wrenching exploration of human relationships, their myriad complications and the daily choice we face to either make them work or to move on.
I see you, Adam Davies and mom from E.T...
Who wouldn’t want to hang out with the lovable “guidos” from Jersey Shore? Luckily for OK!, we got to do just that Sunday morning!
Here are The Situation and Pauly D’s musts for a good Super Bowl game day:
PARTY WITH THE BEST
“If you have good people, they should have a good time no madder where they go,” The Situation said. Although the boys missed most of the celeb pre-Super Bowl weekend festivities, we decided to get their take on what celebs they’d like to party with.
1. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes OR The Hills girls?
The Situation: “I’m not even hating on Cruise, because Cruise is cool but I’d probably go with The Hills, because it’s a younger crowd and that’s our generation.”
Pauly D: “The Hills would be a good time.”
2. NFL Players OR Gossip
Pauly D: “The NFL Players.“
The Situation: “The Gossip Girls are good looking though. I’m going Hollywood on that one.”
3. Kim Kardashian OR Kendra?
The Situation: “Oh hell! Kim Kardashian all the way! Kendra ain’t got nothing on Kim. We don’t hate on anybody. Maybe it’s just my taste, my opinion. I like girls with dark hair and Kim’s got dark hair.”
Pauly D: “Kim’s got a nice body. She’s a beautiful girl.”
In Hollywood, it is commonplace for shy stars to enrol a body double for a sex scene.
But while Megan Fox happily went naked in her latest film Jennifer's Body, it appears she isn't quite so confident with her hands.
In her latest role, starring in a one-off Super Bowl advert for Motorola, it appears the actress has enlisted a hand double.
In the Motorola ad screened yesterday, a naked Megan Fox reclines in a bubblebath with some strategically placed suds protecting her modesty.
But while her sexy pouting caught a lot of attention, other viewers were more concerned with the fact her 'hands' didn't belong to her.
In the commercial, a totally different woman's fingers are seen playing with the phone during the close-up.
The actress has a genetic condition called brachydactyly, which means she has clubbed thumbs.
So rather than use her actual thumbs for the close-up on the new Blur smart phone, Motorola enlisted a hand model.
While Motorola were likely expecting lots of internet buzz over Fox's naked appearance in the ad, bloggers couldn't help commending on her hands.
A writer on the Celebrity Smack blog said: 'Did anyone else catch this? I couldn’t help but chuckle when they showed a close-up of the Motorola phone and the hands holding it were definitely not Megan Fox’s.'
The 30 second ad, which would have cost Motorola between $2million and $3million for the coveted advertising slot, would have been seen by around 90million American TV viewers.
Simon Cowell ready to go public with romance with make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy
TV's Mr Nasty Simon Cowell was spotted on a date at exclusive London restaurant Mr Chow with the 36-year-old beauty, and the pair are believed to be ready to go public with the romance.
A source said: “Simon is ready to let everyone know. Things between them are moving along very nicely indeed.
“Their relationship has been conducted under a cloak of secrecy but the situation has now changed.”
A diner at the eatery added: “It was clear there was real chemistry between them. He seemed smitten and she likewise.”
Mezhgan, who was born in Afghanistan before moving to the US in the early 80s, joins a long list of beauties who have dated Simon, including model Terri Seymour and ‘So Macho’ singer.
The source added: “Simon is clearly very enamoured with Mezhgan – and it’s little wonder why. She is absolutely stunning, not to mention incredibly intelligent and cultured.”

Some call it a remake, some call it a prequel, I call it a really slippery slope: Universal is planning another film in the (sorta) series that began in 1951 with The Thing (from Another World) and continued in 1982 with John Carpenter's The Thing. JC's remake was not exactly adored upon its theatrical release, but it has since gone on to become a true classic of the genre ... for those who have the guts to make it through the exceedingly intense and icky film. (Me, I freaking love it.) As noted by Heat Vision, our source for this story, all of the films were based on a 1938 John Campbell short story called Who Goes There? (I haven't read it.)
We already know that first-timer Matthijs Van Heijningen Jr. will be directing the new version of The Thing, and that Eric Heisserer (A Nightmare on Elm Street '10) and Ronald D. Moore (lots of Star Trek, but even more Battlestar Galactica) are providing the adaptation ... but who will star? HV says it will be Joel Edgerton (King Arthur, Smokin' Aces) as a blue-collar (and no doubt heroic) helicopter pilot (that sounds familiar) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Live Free or Die Hard, Death Proof) as "a Ph.D. candidate who joins a Norwegian research team in Antarctica after it discovers an alien ship in the ice." Aha. So it is a prequel.
Production begins next month in Toronto.
I...do not have high hopes, but I liked her in Death Proof. (All right, posted--but it took, like, two and a half hours to approve. Maybe that's why. :P)
Expect official renewal annoucements for the above shows later this month.
One Tree Hill: There are some messy contracts and negotations and it could go either way but even if renewed it will likely have budget cuts and maybe lose more cast members and producers. SOAPNET has the option of renewing it if the CW were to cancel it.
Life Unexpected: The CW is very happy with it's performance so far but is afraid to made a "Southland" decision so they're waiting for more data but it is leaning heavily on renewal. However it is likely to be back midseason.
Melrose Place: decision will be made in May but baring a miracle don't expect it back. Though the CW is pleased with it's recent rerun ratings' slight improvement and there is some international interest in the show.
There was an ad on the tv this morning while I was working out for VD, and I almost fell when I saw Ian Somerhalder. Nomnomnom.
"Kendra Wilkinson was in tears leaving Sun Life Stadium after the Super Bowl last night in Miami. I hate to pile onto Kendra's agony -- actually, no I don't -- but below is a close-up of her husband Hank Baskett's face after he flubbed the Saints' surprise onside-kick at the start of the second half, cementing his legacy as one of the biggest goats in Super Bowl history. Cheer up Kendra, blowing the Super Bowl still isn't as bad as what your ex-boyfriend used to do on a regular basis: wet his pants."

Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton will star in "The Thing," Universal's latest take on the shape-shifting alien who terrorizes a group of people in a remote facility.
The best-known version might be the 1982 John Carpenter-Kurt Russell cult movie, which was a contemporary remake of 1951's "The Thing From Another World," directed by Howard Hawks. All take inspiration from a 1938 short story, "Who Goes There?" published in pulp mag Astounding.
Matthijs Van Heijningen is directing the latest movie, which was written by Ronald D. Moore and Eric Heisserer.
Winstead will play a Ph.D. candidate who joins a Norwegian research team in Antarctica after it discovers an alien ship in the ice. When a trapped organism is freed and begins a series of attacks, she is forced to team with a blue-collar mercenary helicopter pilot (Edgerton) to stop the rampage.
The role is a coup for Winstead and marks her first starring studio vehicle. (OP note: I can't believe they forgot her breakout role as the lead girl in the amazing "Final Destination 3.") The actress appeared in a bit part in Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof" and was Bruce Willis' daughter in "Live Free or Die Hard." She caught Universal's eye with her work opposite Michael Cera in the studio's upcoming "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World," where she plays love interest Ramona V. Flowers. Universal is releasing that movie Aug. 13.
Edgerton starred on Broadway opposite Cate Blanchett in "A Streetcar Named Desire." He next co-stars opposite Tom Hardy in Gavin O'Connor's "Warrior" for Lionsgate.

Before the remake wank starts, previous reports have stated that this movie is supposed to serve as a prequel to Carpenter's movie. Now wank away.
Jim (Brendan Cowell) is an emotionally-stunted thirty-something man, who drives a miniature train for a living and lives in a bungalow at the back of his sister’s house. He is in love with his smart and very together English girlfriend, Alice (Yvonne Strahovski), but he doesn’t have the heart, the guts, the balls or the words to tell her. Charlie (Peter Dinklage) is a thirty-something year old dwarf and the perfect man; emotionally together, wise, funny, attractive, and generous who runs his own business as a photographer.
On the night of Jim’s birthday, he is finally ready to show his “commitment” to Alice. But things turn 180 degrees when Alice decides she wants more than commitment, she wants a future – a step Jim isn’t ready to take.
‘I Love You Too’ is a buddy movie about the meaning of relationships, the importance of male friendship, and having the courage to pursue the one you love.
When MTV News caught up with "Spider-Man" cast member James Franco during the Sundance Film Festival, he explained whether Harry Osborn was originally expected to come back (from the dead) for the now-canceled fourth film, reveals his Spidey-themed birthday gift for former director Sam Raimi, and offers some advice for the next "Spider-Man" cast.
"No, there were no plans," said Franco when asked about Harry's potential return.
"Sam Raimi just had a big birthday," he continued. "All of his friends made little videos for it. I did one about not being in 'Spider-Man 4,' because they were making it at the time. He called me up. He loved it and said, 'I wish I had a part for you in 'Spider-Man 4,' but I don't."
As for any wisdom he could drop on the future Spider-Man and his surrounding cast, Franco said to "bring a lot of reading material or your DVD set of 'Lost,' because when you do the effects you'll be sitting around for a long time."
Well, it's not exactly "Inside The Actors Studio," but it's fun all the same. Thanks, James!
Portia de Rossi knew her “quiet life” was over when she fell for Ellen DeGeneres. Now, with a new book and a passionate taste for politics, she’s ready to step forward as the first lady of our fight for marriage equality.

It took a while, but after 13 cycles of America’s Next Top Model, Tyra Banks has finally convinced Vogue editor-at-large André Leon Talley to take a seat at the judges’ table.
Talley, 60, a heavyweight in the fashion world for decades, was one of the first people Banks approached eight years ago when she was planning Top Model. “At that point, I said no because it was the beginning. I was thinking I wanted to see where it goes,” he tells Women’s Wear Daily.
Of course, the show has been a sensation. And now Talley, who says he’s never actually seen the show, has signed up for three cycles — beginning with cycle 14, which premieres March 10 on the CW. At the judges’ table, he succeeds runway coach J. Alexander, who will focus again on working with the contestants.
“I felt maybe I could contribute something to it that had not been on the show,” Talley says. “I just felt that it was a way to step out of the box and associate myself with a very important American success story, a very important brand — Tyra Banks.”
For her part, Banks says Talley will help steer the show in a more high-fashion direction. “André speaks about fashion and he has such a passion, and the words — the adverbs, the adjectives — he uses!” she says. “I know it’s going to make the viewer at home go, ‘Wowww.’” She adds, “It might go over their head, but he’s educating them about a time, bringing them back to a place when fashion was life.”
(and it's not Hilary)
Perhaps Miami is just a bit too small for the stars who flocked there this weekend.
We hear there was an awkward moment between "Twilight" co-stars Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz on Friday night at an Audi bash at the W South Beach when both vied for the attention of A-list actress Hilary Swank.
After Taylor asked to be introduced to Swank (she had no idea who he was), a photographer pulled over Lutz to join the duo.
"Taylor looked really annoyed and pulled away from the shot immediately, without a word to Kellan," our spy says. "It was incredibly awkward."
And it isn't just werewolves and vampires who apparently don't get along -- it seems that some teammates also were on the outs.

New "Chloe" UK Poster
It may be snowing outside, but here to warm you up is a new poster for Chloe. How will this help, you ask? Well, because it's directed by Atom Egoyan (for the arthouse crowd), it's a thriller (for the rest of you), it stars Amanda Seyfried and Julianne Moore (for the gentlemen and ladies in comfortable shoes) and Liam Neeson (for the ladies and gentlemen in uncomfortable shoes). It has, in other words, got something for everyone.
The plot is this: Moore plays Catherine, high-achieving doctor married to David (Neeson). She begins to suspect he's cheating, and asks escort Chloe (Seyfried) to find out if her fears are true. Chloe, however, goes a little too far in her investigation.
Chloe is out on March 5 in the UK.

Let’s be reasonable. It took 12 years for a film to top Titanic and Avatar has beat it in the first seven weeks at the box office, while showing no signs of slowing down. When Avatar finishes it’s run it could very well be an entire billion dollars ahead of Titanic’s second place $1.8 billion worldwide gross. It is a massive mountain for any film to attempt to climb, but with nearly every big blockbuster recently getting the 3D addition (aka box office steroids), there is a chance. Here are ten films that could rival Avatar’s impressive gross…or at least reach the coveted $1 billion mark, something only five films have ever accomplished.
( Collapse )
You gotta have 3D and IMAX to even stand a chance to beat Avatar. IMO only Avatar 2 can top it or something else made by Cameron (bitch knows how to lure the masses). Maybe the third Batman film, and an even bigger maybe with 'The Avengers' if the rest of Marvel's superhero movies are well-received (Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America).
Robert Pattinson EXCLUSIVE: New 'Remember Me' Stills Expose Steamy Moments With Emilie De Ravin
The cold winter months are about to get a whole lot hotter! We've secured two new exclusive images from Robert Pattinson's upcoming romantic drama, "Remember Me" (out March 12), and we're pretty sure that after you get a glimpse at them, you aren't going to want to do much for the rest of the day except stare.
Looking at these two pics, we can safely say that Emilie de Ravin wasn't lying when she told MTV News last month that she and Rob hit it off right away. "I flew to New York to test with Rob and we immediately got along and had instant great chemistry, which is not an easy thing to come by," she said. "Obviously you're acting, but you want to have that connection with somebody. We had it."

According to 1UP's account of Famitsu's interview with Suda and Yamaoka, the musician will be put to work on the horror game Grasshopper is developing for Electronic Arts, the one headed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. (Mikami also has another game in the works, Vanquish for Platinum Games/Sega.)
Yamaoka also indicates that, while his current tasks involve helping Grasshopper on the musical side, he would like to use all of his game production talents at some point. We'd also like that, thank you very much.

McFly star Danny Jones has revealed that the band's new album is influenced by Prince and Michael Jackson.
Jones, who was voted off Popstar To Operastar last night, told the Daily Star that the album is "killer".
"We've got the material and are building up the McFly massacre," he said. "The album's an absolute killer. It's got a Prince and Michael Jackson influence."
Jones added that the group are working with Taio Cruz and American producer Dallas Austin on the record.
"Taio's a really cool guy," Jones explained. "We've written tracks with him and we're now trying to get him to produce one.
"It was awesome working with Dallas as he's a bit of a party boy - he thinks he's our fifth member. He's coming over to the UK to produce four or five of our songs."
McFly are reportedly in talks to return to their former record label Universal.

Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are suing the News Of The World newspaper after it published allegations about their relationship.
In a story published on 24 January, the paper said the couple would separate and had agreed the division of assets and custody of their children.
The couple's lawyer, Keith Schilling, called the "widely republished" allegations "false and intrusive".
He added the paper had failed to meet "reasonable demands" for an apology.

Based on time-zone adjusted (but still preliminary) fast nationals, Super Bowl XLIV averaged over 106 million (106.5 million) and is set to overtake the 1983 series finale of M*A*S*H (105.97 million) to become the most-watched program of all time.
Looks like the MASH finale was 2.5 hours, and indeed, the population in the USA was much smaller then. Also it was the pre-People Meter days when Nielsen figured out viewer averages based on diaries.
FYI: per Nielsen 83.3 million TV homes in 1983 vs 114.9 million in 2010
With Super Bowls, it easily eclipsed the previous most-watched Super Bowl, last year’s Cardinals vs. Steelers game that averaged 98.7 million viewers.
Time Zone adjusted number for Undercover Boss averaged 38.6 million and was the most-watched post Super Bowl show since 2001. Here are the past years for comparison's sake (big chart).
Considering it's based on US Household nielsen ratings, yes, these are numbers for US programs.

Felton joins previously announced cast members Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan, Julianna Guill, Luke Pasqualino and Suzanne Ford. Little is known about the film's story other than it concerns a couple haunted by a supernatural presence in the wake of a college experiment.

She’s chilling out in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with her husband David Arquette, daughter Coco and gal pal Jennifer Aniston, and Courteney Cox may be contemplating another child.
According to the “Friends” babe’s hubby, they may go the adoption route this time around, since they had to conceive Coco by way of in-vitro fertilization.
Arquette explained, “I don’t know. I mean, it takes a lot for us to do it, so maybe adoption. Listen, I like practicing as much as possible! But it’s hard… I’m exhausted!”
As for Coco, “She’s a little messy so that’s sort of on my side, but she’s very strong-willed which is very Courteney-like. We got her a flute recently and she is just walking around…We’re jammin’ a lot, a little Jethro Tull.”

Can't we all get along a little less?
Don't get us wrong, we love good vibes among star casts -- especially the cast that upcoming "Burlesque" boasts: Christina Aguilera, Cher, Stanley Tucci, "Twilight" hunk Cam Gigandet and Kristen Bell.
"Entertainment Tonight" got the first sit-down with the bunch, currently shooting the project in Los Angeles, and it seems even the film's headlining divas are playing extremely nice.
Cher plays Tess, a club owner whose burlesque troupe is rescued by the talents of Aguilera's Ali, a small-town girl who hits Hollywood in pursuit of her dreams.
"The other day we were hamming it up so badly ... ," Cher said of a group scene. "She was hot, she was really up there, her game is good."
Likewise, Aguilera and her young counterparts have the expected reverence for the 63-year-old.
"I love Cher," Aguilera gushed. The young wife and mom respects Cher for being "a woman who has done everything before anyone did it."
"Heroes" actress Bell, her normally blond 'do a nearly jet-black mane, says the legend is everything she expected and more.
"You don't get to be more of an icon than she is, and there are very few people who have that status. She so delivers in every way," Bell said.
No screaming or sabotaging of costumes? No tears or measuring of trailers? Let's hope there's plenty of drama on screen!

Pine and Coyote Ugly sexpot Piper Perabo were spotted having drinks and sharing a brownie together for almost two hours at Napa Valley Grille in L.A.'s Westwood Village.
"They were sitting at a four-seater table on the outdoor patio, but chose to sit right next to each other as opposed to across from each other," an eyewitness tells us. "It looked like they were peering over a script or document together."

Sorry, Kristin Cavallari, Derek Jeter Is Not Interested In You!
Kristin Cavallari, 23, either doesn’t realize that Derek Jeter, 35, is in a very serious relationship with actress Minka Kelly, 29 … or she doesn’t care! HollywoodLife.com spotted The Hills cutie partying at the Tao Super Bowl party at Wall nightclub inside the W Hotel South Beach on Feb. 5, where she was seriously trying to get close to the Yankee slugger. Kristin, who was definitely enjoying the cocktails and popchips that were being served in the VIP area, was doing everything in her power to get to Derek’s table!
We even overheard one guest say, “Kristin needs to stop trying so hard.” And after a few failed attempts, she finally did!
A drunken Kristin was later carried out of the club.
According to our Pop Tarts spy, “The Hills” hottie Kristin Cavallari may have had a few too many while living it up at hot spot TAO; apparently she toppled to the ground and even had to be carried out of the Miami club. Yikes.

Designer Christian Audigier’s Nervous Tattoo, Inc. is being sued by Marc Jacobs’ company for trade dress and trademark infringement over purse designs. Marc Jacobs designs apparel and accessories, including purses, and has a pending application for its random “Marc Jacobs” scrambled trademark. Marc Jacobs has applied the scrambled trademark to the inside lining of the “Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon” tote bag. And the tote bag’s “size, shape, color or color combinations, product design, texture, and selection and arrangement of materials and accessories” are claimed to serve as its trade dress.
Plaintiffs accuse Defendants of selling tote bags that “bear trade dress that unlawfully copies or imitates Plaintiffs’ unique, distinctive, and non-functional Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Tote Trade Dress and/or that unlawfully bear marks confusingly similar to the Marc Jacobs Scrambled Trademark.” In addition, Plaintiffs assert claims for unfair competition under Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200 and constructive trust.
Since the parties’ products apparently bear their respective trademarks, it will be interesting to see if customers are confused about the source of the products. See Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. v. A few months ago, Playgirl went web-only, because it's easier for dudes to click a mouse than turn a page while masturbating. But they roared up printer again just for Levi. The magazine promises all nude "pix," but just like the (NSFWish) internet spread you're still not getting peen. Not even a tip. We get a handful of pit muff. You can develop a case of blue eyeballs all over again! However, I will give Levi a few nipple pinches for his "Someday I Will Be Senator" pose and bronzerface.
I hate to admit it and I know his fifteen seconds are up. But I want to see some penis.
Jack Coleman has revealed that he is expecting Heroes to return for a fifth season.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, the actor - HRG on the NBC series - said that the season four finale will enable them to "wade" into a new volume.
"It's an ending which Heroes does, which is closes one volume and opens another," he teased.
"It poses the question of what might happen with the lid torn off and everyone aware of these powers and no longer able to hide or deny it.
"I don't know if we're coming back or not - I expect that we are, I hope that we are, I anticipate that we are. We have opened a new volume and I think we will wade into that new volume."
Coleman added that the cast are likely to find out about a renewal in March.
Heroes concludes its fourth run tonight at 9pm on NBC in the US and continues Saturdays on BBC Two in the UK.
Tonight might be the last episode, so I'm going to watch and hope for a Sylar/Peter sex scene.

Britney watchers can breathe easy.
Despite reports that Spears was "rushed" to the hospital today, her rep tells E! News she was simply there for a routine checkup.
"Everything is fine," says Spears' rep. "Britney is there for an annual physical."
Photogs claimed Brit-Brit was accompanied to UCLA Medical Center's Mattel Children's Hospital earlier today by two cars and a police escort.
And Perez Hilton had the Twitter world in a tizzy when he posted: "I'm hearing that @BritneySpears is in the emergency room right now. Hope it's nothing major and everything is okay! Maybe her kids?"
Imagine that, the blogosphere blowing something out of proportion.
Emergency or not, the stars in our Big Picture gallery seem to be having a better day than Britney.
Carrie Prejean is engaged.
The embattled beauty queen, who was dethroned from the Miss California title last year, became engaged over the weekend to St. Louis Rams quarterback Kyle Boller, Carrie's mother, Francine Coppola, told Access Hollywood on Monday.
According to Francine, Carrie, 22, described the proposal as similar to a scene out of 2004's romance film "The Notebook," which starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.
Kyle, 28, presented his bride to be with a 5 carat diamond ring.
The couple celebrated their engagement at a Super Bowl party with family and friends in Solana Beach, in Carrie's native San Diego, Calif. Kyle is also from the West Coast, having grown up in Southern California.
Carrie is "very excited," her mom told Access.
The two have not yet set a date for their nuptials.
Carrie reportedly previously dated Michael Phelps, while Kyle was once linked to Tara Reid.

Betty White fans are speaking, and they’re saying one of the most genius things ever: Bring Rose Nylund on as host of Saturday Night Live! No, but really, fans have rallied in a recently created Facebook fan page titled: “Betty White to host SNL (please?)!” As of noon ET today, the page had nearly 35,000 fans, rocketing from around 8,500 yesterday morning.
“Betty White has been doing television since before I Love Lucy!” the page proclaims. “What a way to honor her career, her comedic timing, and her life than by inviting her to host Saturday Night Live!!!” The page’s wall is littered with love for the former Mary Tyler Moore and Golden Girls star. “She would show those young whipper snappers how it’s done!” says one poster, while another simply writes: “Please! Please! Please! Best. SNL. Ever.”
And honestly, the question here is: Why hasn’t Betty—one of Hollywood’s most beloved and hilarious actresses—hosted the stalwart comedy show before? Why has no one thought of this before now? Has she been approached and just didn’t want to do it? (EW reached out to SNL’s rep, who said: “Sorry. We never comment on this sort of thing.” And White’s rep has yet to return an email with a similar inquiry.)
Personally, I would die to see Ms. White take on the Target Lady or do an over-the-top skit on the continued national obsession with Golden Girls. The fact of the matter is that Betty is 88 years old, and she’s funnier than ladies one-quarter of her age. Heck, she’s a helluva lot funnier than some of this season’s SNL hosts, like Megan Fox or January Jones.
And, we’ve all loved Betty so long that we’d revel in every moment of her 90 minutes on stage. Plus, she’s clearly proven that she’s a hoot in scripted shows—for decades!—but she’s also show deft skill as a hilarious late-night gal as of late, like when she took on Jimmy Fallon in beer pong last summer and got sassy with Craig Ferguson around Christmastime. Also! Even though she is older, her appeal crosses all generations, from little kids (Glenn Martin, DDS) to soap opera lovers (The Bold and the Beautiful) to the gays (Golden Girls, Ugly Betty) to quirk fans (Boston Legal) to old folks (Mary Tyler Moore)—oh hell—basically everyone else. Seems like a grand slam to me!
In so many ways, I feel like we’re one step away from this: “Betty White for President!” Which, truly, isn’t the craziest of ideas.
Top Super Bowl commercials 2010? Nope. Here are the five worst.
There were definitely a few great Super Bowl ads. And then there were ... the rest.
Judging from viewers' votes on Hulu this morning, many ads got split reactions. The much-publicized Tim Tebow Focus on the Family ad, for example, garnered the most "dislike" votes but tied for seventh in "like" votes through mid-morning Monday.
To make our bottom five, you've got to have more than just a lot of negative feedback. The spot in question must have truly put advertising dollars into a crash-and-burn television moment. Thus, bland spots – Roundup Weedkiller, anyone? – don't make the cut.
( Collapse )
Beyoncé, zombies, ninjas, and Twitter, all mixed in a strange techno-gullet of steel. For a minute-long spot, you spend the first 55 seconds or so confused as to what exactly it is that you're supposed to be looking at. Then you don't really care.
4. Taco Bell 'It rocks'
Unfortunately for Sir Charles, it does not. Lyrical sampling: "It rocks, it rocks. It rocks for a fox. It rocks blocking shots on guys in dreadlocks." Um. Yeah. And you can't rhyme "rocks" with "bucks," without setting off a five-siren groan alarm.
3. CarMax Animals
What makes these commercials most disappointing is that CarMax manages to entertain with its other set of commercials, the spots where extraordinary people cowed by the tall task of car buying gain solace with CarMax. Unfortunately, cute in this case does not equal memorable.
2. GoDaddy Trifecta
Spare us. The adolescent shock factor gone totally lame from annual repetition. This year, viewers were subjected to a triple dose of unfunny: The ads combined "like" scores rated less than the semi-retread Dr. Pepper "Dr. Love" commercial, according to Hulu voters.
This commercial really speaks for itself, but if you're too scared to click the link below, just know that it looks like it should be followed by a Trix Rabbit commercial or a Saturday morning cartoon.

Personally, I love it. Not only is John a wonderful singer, but you can tell how much he truly adores Doctor Who, and he's as big a fanboy as the rest!

The Dongria Kondh tribe from eastern India today appealed to film director James Cameron to help them stop controversial mining company Vedanta from opening a bauxite mine on their sacred land as they believe that he will understand their plight better than most.
Like the Na'vi tribe in Cameron's blockbuster Avatar, who are desperately trying to stop humans from mining under their sacred 'home tree' in Pandora, the Dongria Kondh are trying to stop Vedanta from opening its mine on the mountain they worship.
Vedanta plans to construct an open-cast mine on Niyamgiri mountain in Orissa state which activists believe will destroy the area's ecosystem and threaten the future of the 8,000-strong Dongria Kondh tribe, who depend on the hills for their crops and water and who believe the mountain and surrounding forest to be a sacred place.
Stephen Corry, director of the charity Survival, which campaigns on behalf of indigenous people, said: "Just as the Na'vi describe the forest of Pandora as 'their everything', for the Dongria Kondh, life and land have always been deeply connected. The fundamental story of Avatar – if you take away the multi-coloured lemurs, the long-trunked horses and warring androids – is being played out today in the hills of Niyamgiri.
"Like the Na'vi, the Dongria Kondh are also at risk, as their lands are set to be mined by Vedanta Resources who will stop at nothing to achieve their aims. The mine will destroy the forests on which the Dongria Kondh depend and wreck the lives of thousands of other Kondh tribal people living in the area."
In an advert in Hollywood entertainment magazine Variety, the Dongria Kondh said: "Appeal to James Cameron. Avatar is fantasy … and real. The Dongria Kondh tribe in India are struggling to defend their land against a mining company hell-bent on destroying their sacred mountain. Please help the Dongria."

According to the criminal complaint, the D.A. alleges Dr. Murray "did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson ... in the commission of an unlawful act, not a felony; and in the commission of a lawful act which might have produced death, in an unlawful manner, and without due caution and circumspection."
Dr. Murray will be arraigned today at 1:30 PM. As we first reported, he will plead not guilty.
Dr. Murray is expected to show up at around 1:00 PM, accompanied by his lawyers and a bail bondsman. Bail should be set at $25,000.
Dr. Murray administered Propofol to Jackson just before he died, and the L.A. County Coroner's Office has determined Jackson died as a result of acute Propofol intoxication.
If convicted, Dr. Murray faces a maximum of four years in prison.

Edited to add: Update, a full copy of the coroner's report has been released:
TMZ has just obtained a copy of the full L.A. County Coroner's report in the death of Michael Jackson -- which until now was under seal. The conclusion is clear ... Propofol killed the singer.

The Coroner's report was under wraps until the criminal complaint was filed and it will be a centerpiece in the prosecution of Dr. Conrad Murray on charges of involuntary manslaughter.
UPDATE 2:15 PM PT: The judge just said that Murray cannot be in possession of (or prescribe) anesthetics. He can prescribe other meds. Quote from the judge: "I do not want you sedating people."
UPDATE 2:11 PM PT: Bail has been set at $75,000 -- three times the standard amount for cases like this. Murray had to surrender his passport. Murray was taken in to custody for booking at the courthouse.
UPDATE 2:00 PM PT: The DA wants bail set at $300,000. Murray's attorney is objecting -- says Murray is not a flight risk.
UPDATE 1:59 PM PT: The medical board just filed a motion to have Murray's medical license revoked.
UPDATE 1:58 PM PT: Murray just pled not guilty.
Abandoned Danny Boyle project "The Texas Killing Fields" has now evidently been renamed "The Fields" with Sam Worthington set to join the film, which will be directed by Ami Canaan Mann and produced by her father, Michael Mann.
As previous reported, Pajiba had linked Worthington and Bradley Cooper to the Mann project, though Cooper's name is now noticeably absent. Perhaps the two were vying for one role or Cooper just moved on? Their pairing did seem a bit bland and a knee-jerk reaction to box-office-numbers for the story of two cops who "realize that the latest murder in their jurisdiction connects their case to the notorious killing fields murders, which saw four bodies found along the same strip of Interstate 45 in Texas."
Nevertheless, development on the project is a surprise as it had once been deemed by Boyle as "a fantastic script, really special script, but it was just so dark it would never get made." He even offered the advice of having "half a dozen super megastars for a studio to even consider making it" which seems like what they've starting to do, with hot-property Worthington and the father-daughter combination of the Manns.
Ami Canaan Mann has helmed one film before, "Morning," was a second unit director on her father's crime-saga "Heat" and directed some television, including an episode of "Friday Night Lights." While Pajiba has a lot of doubters from the insecure geek set, who aren't very happy that a fledgling is beating them to stories (Chud being one of them), Variety has confirmed confirmed the news (even acknowledging Pajiba for the find). So good on them for calling this one from the beginning. The trade adds that shooting will begin in April and the other detective involved will apparently be a "New York Transplant."
DHD has another update from Michael Mann himself. "Sam will play Jake, this tough-minded misanthropic Texan, who with his partner Brian, wind up waging something of a war against these unknown assailants, a ferocious battle to save each other and the life of this young street kid.”
Lindsay Lohan was allegedly beaten up by on/off girlfriend Samantha Ronson.
The 'Mean Girls' actress - who has a turbulent relationship with the DJ - reportedly told a pal how the romance had, at times, been very violent, with Lindsay having the scars to prove it.
The friend said: "One time I saw Lindsay and she had a large welt on her head. She told me that Sam beat the s**t out of her.
"She also said that Sam even punched and choked her one time."
Although they have officially broken up, the two women still have regular contact with each other, which makes things hard on Lindsay.
Making things worse is the fact that both women live in the same building.
Following the break-in at her Hollywood Hills home, Lindsay moved into an apartment in West Hollywood. Shortly after, Samantha moved in. The source tells RadarOnline.com that Ronson regularly comes over using a key she has to Lindsay’s apartment.
The friend added to Radar Online: "It's so twisted. They're not together, but they are. I never thought I'd ever say this, but I really do feel sorry for Lindsay. She is just lost. She's alone. She has no friends to turn to."
New York Magazine's Vulture* is reporting that the 2005 20th Century Fox action-comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith that brought together Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (in many more ways than one) is being given the reboot treatment by Regency, one of the development arms of Fox, with Akiva Goldsman attached to produce.
The original movie showed what happened when a married couple, both working undercover without the other one's knowledge, end up on the opposite side of the world of espionage having been hired by competing agencies to kill the other. According to the story, the new movie would involve a pair of 20-something secret agents who are set up in a fake arranged marriage as covers after graduating the academy. Although it's thought that these would be different characters and not exactly a prequel to the earlier film, it would allow Fox to continue it as a franchise without paying the hefty sum Pitt and Jolie would want for a sequel. As mentioned in the article, this tactic is similar to the mindset that created the comedy prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd a number of years back.

Sendhil Ramamurthy of Heroes fame on working in a Bollywood film
How has life post-Heroes been?
Great. I have been getting a lot of recognition and offers only after Heroes, so it’s been a great journey.
What was it about the show that interested you?
Shor is being made by Raj and DK, the very people who made 99. They approached my agents in Los Angeles and after seeing the DVD of the film I almost agreed to do it instantly. I hadn’t seen anything like that ever and called my agents to fix up a meeting with them.
How is Tusshar as a co-star?
Tusshar is a great person to work with. He has been a constant support throughout and I am glad I got to work with him in my very first film.

Dr. Conrad Murray is a "danger to the public" -- according to the medical board that licensed him to practice medicine in California.
According to documents filed with the court, the Medical Board of California believes Murray showed, "utter disregard for the care and well-being of the persons entrusted to his care" -- namely, Michael Jackson.
The Board wants the judge to step in because it takes the Medical Board a long time to yank a doctor's license.
In the end, the judge ordered Dr. Murray not to administer anesthetics, including Propofol.
The judge will hear the Medical Board's request to suspend Dr. Murray's license as a bail condition in a few weeks.
Helena Bonham Carter fancies a drink. So she orders a double espresso. And a glass of fizzy water. And an apple smoothie. She looks rather worried when I order just a coffee. "Is that all you want?" she asks gently. Multiple drinking, she explains, is the way to a balanced diet. She admits her theory is not based on pure science.

Hey ONTD, I just turned 20 an hour ago! :D
The Global Campaign for Education (GCE) has named Shakira an ambassador for 1GOAL: Education For All. 1GOAL is an international campaign to ensure that every child can exercise their right to an education.
1GOAL is co-chaired and co-founded by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan and is supported by the global football/soccer community and its governing body, FIFA. The 2010 FIFA World Cup™ is the first World Cup tournament to be hosted in Africa, home to the majority of out-of-school children. 1GOAL is asking fans to lobby their country’s leaders and help ensure all boys and girls have access to quality primary education.
“The World Cup captures the attention and hearts of millions. We must use this moment to raise our voices for 1GOAL and demand that this generation of children have the chance to fulfill their dreams and live up to their full potential through education,” said Shakira. “I’m honored to be part of this incredible movement.”
As 1GOAL Ambassador, Shakira will advocate for universal access to education to world leaders and to the public. Shakira will work to strengthen the campaign alongside world leaders, top footballers and celebrities who have already signed up to the goals of the campaign, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, President Jacob Zuma, Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Bono, Kevin Spacey and footballers Marcel Desailly, Rio Ferdinand, Eusébio and Alessandro Del Piero.
Adrian Lovett, chair of the GCE 1GOAL campaign committee commented: “We are delighted Shakira has joined 1GOAL. She is a humanitarian, a philanthropist, and one of the world’s biggest artists. Her lasting concern for the millions of children who do not have access to any kind of education make her an ideal 1GOAL Ambassador. We look forward to working with Shakira in this very special year to achieve our shared vision of education for all.”

On husband Cash Warren
“We’re similar in some ways and opposites in others. We’re similar in social situations - we’re both open. But he’s not crazy about movies and I am. He doesn’t like cooking and I do. He loves sport and I don’t. Well, I do but I’d rather not watch it for 12 hours a day - then watch the highlights at the end!”
On Equality in Hollywood
“I believe there’s going to be more equality, and if women take on the attitude of lifting each other up instead of being competitive with each other, it’ll be better for all of us. There are amazing actresses - Zoe Saldana, Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts, Jessica Biel, Eva Mendes - so I’m all about supporting each other to succeed. A lot of women are so concerned with society telling us that we need to emulate this persona - like, if you’re a mum you act like this, and if you-re the girl next door you have to act like that. I was focused on making money and trying to stay relevant. I never bucked the system. But now I feel I can have more control and I want to play women who are strong and independant, who are completely flawed and have problems but that’s OK.”
On working with Lindsay Lohan
“Yeah, and my husband may do a TV show with her - ironically, about the ridiculousness of tabloids. Lindsay’s had to deal with this for so long. Everyone has to live their life, and that’s what people forget when you’re in this business. Lindsay’s really nice. We hung out and chat for hours about girl stuff.”
