Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst have now pulled out of a possible Spider-man 4 movie and Sony is going to reboot the franchise instead. The plan is to start over with a newer, younger actor cast as Spider-man and Peter Parker and to have the movie take place when Peter is still in high school. A gig as Spider-man would be one of the top roles in Hollywood, especially for a young star looking to break out. Who should be the Peter Parker and Spider-man in the new Spider-man reboot?

Who Should be Spider-man in the Reboot? Michael Angarano

Michael Angarano is the best choice to be the next Spider-man. Angarano might be the best actor under the age of 25. Angarano looks kind of nerdy and isn't too large to play Peter Parker but also isn't too small to play Spider-man. Angarano also has experience playing a superhero in the movie Sky High.

Who Should be Spider-man in the Reboot? Colin Morgan

Colin Morgan currently stars in the BBC show Merlin. Colin plays Merlin but the show is set when Merlin and Arthur are teens. Arthur's father, Uther Pendragon, does not allow wizardry so, like Peter Parker, Morgan has to hide the fact that he has special abilities and often purposely looks oafish in order to throw others off the fact that he is actually a powerful wizard. The character is very similar to Peter Parker/Spider-man if you think about it. The only question would be if the Irish actor can speak with an American accent.

The Queen May Collaborate with Kings of Leon!

The singer won six Grammy Awards on Sunday, setting a new record for the number of prizes won by a female in one night. She is reportedly keen to ensure her music keeps getting better, and thinks the US rock band could help her experiment with a new sound.

The 28-year-old star approached Nathan, Caleb, Jared and Matthew Followill at a Grammy after-party and is said to have spent the whole night discussing ideas for new songs.

“Beyonce looked stunning and was chatting to virtually every major star on hand,” an onlooker told British newspaper The Daily Mirror. “She kissed Kings of Leon on their cheeks and congratulated them on winning an award for Use Somebody.

“They were chatting for ages. She knows how huge they are in the UK and loves their album. She was scouting for people to collaborate with and has been talking about doing something different with a rock band. Kings of Leon would be perfect.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal: Truly 'surprised... shocked... excited'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Maggie Gyllenhaal is in Los Angeles, and it's been a whirlwind so far for the supporting actress nominee, up for playing a single mother in Crazy Heart. She never saw this coming.

"Because I didn't get any other nominations, I was so surprised," she says. "I was completely shocked and so excited. I love the movie and I feel so proud of it. I'm excited about celebrating it and getting dressed up. I haven't done work I'm more proud of."

One of the first calls this morning came from her on-screen love and best actor favorite, Jeff Bridges. "Jeff called me this morning. He was barely even making words. He was kind of singing and moaning. He was so excited. I feel thrilled," says Gyllenhaal.

Her day, thus far, has been all about family.

There's a sense of excitement at home, because her husband Peter Sarsgaard's film, An Education, is also up for best picture.

"We woke up at 5:30," says Gyllenhaal. "I've been up forever already. I just got up really early and had coffee with my brother (Jake Gyllenhaal) and my daughter woke up. I haven't had a second to breathe."

She might have a mimosa to celebrate, but her night is wide open. "I don't know what I'm going to do," says the actress.

i'm so happy for her.she's great in everything she does.

Mackenzie Phillips: Sex With Father Not Consensual
Talking to incest survivors convinced her it wasn't

Mackenzie Phillips changed her tune today on her sexual encounter with her father at age 19, saying after talking to incest survivors, she’d “like to reframe my word, ‘consensual.’” She wrote in her book that her relationship with musician John Phillips was indeed consensual, Mackenzie, now 49, told CNN, but “since then I’ve been schooled by thousands of incest survivors all across the world that there really is no such thing as consensual incest due to the inherent power a parent has over a child.”

Former teen stars Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence are returning to the small screen in a new ABC Family sitcom.

The aptly titled Melissa & Joey will star the Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress as a politician who hires a manny (Lawrence) to care for her niece and nephew when her sister winds up in jail. The half-hour sitcom was developed with the actors in mind after their ABC Family original movie, My Fake Fiance, shattered ratings records for the network last year.

Hart and Lawrence, both 33 (they were born two days apart!), have both appeared on Dancing with the Stars. Hart placed ninth last season, while the ex-Blossom star finished third in Season 3.

Melissa & Joey will premiere later this year.

Monopoly goes circular for 75th Anniversary

Monopoly owners Hasbro will be launching a circular version of the board game to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its creation the company has announced at this year's Toy Fair. The game, which stays the same when it comes to gameplay, will involve players moving around the board as if it were a roundabout rather than the traditional square set we've all come to know and love.

But it's not just a random move to give die-hard fans a reason to buy yet another version, it turns out one of the first concepts for the board game was circular according to Hasbro.

Not to be out done by the latest video games, however, the Monopoly board will do away with cash and the chance to raid the bank when no-one is looking. Players instead will be issued with a chip and pin credit card and a central console that plays banker. No fair.

Expect the new version to be in the shops later this year.

Kwan puts skating career on ice

SOMERVILLE - She will be walking through Davis Square at lunchtime, having dinner in the North End, or sitting courtside at a Celtics game and she’ll see the heads turning. That face, that smile. Is that her? Naww, couldn’t be. “She’s from LA,’’ Michelle Kwan says, laughing. “Why would she be here?’’

Kwan has been in the vicinity since last summer, studying for a two-year master’s degree in law and diplomacy at Tufts’s Fletcher School. The most decorated figure skater in American history (two Olympic medals, five world titles, nine national championships) now totes a backpack crammed with books, a computer and a Kindle.

“My friends here know me as Michelle the Student,’’ she says.

Kwan, who’ll turn 30 in July, hasn’t retired from skating, and there were times last year when she pondered going for an unprecedented fifth Winter Olympics. But once the Tufts acceptance letter arrived, she knew that she was at a crossroads.

“It was, ‘OK, now I really have to make a decision,’ ’’ she says. “It didn’t feel like it was a hard choice, but it was the right one for me at this time. Grad school, new experience, everything that I’ve always wanted. It’s a new path.’’

Jennifer Aniston Remodels Home for the Single Life

If the recent, extensive renovation of Jennifer Aniston's Beverly Hills home is any indication, it doesn't seem like the actress is in any rush to settle down.
In the March issue of Architectural Digest – which features photos of the house by Scott Frances, following its 2½-year overhaul – the magazine notes that the master suite is no longer guy-friendly.

"[The house] originally had his-and-hers baths, but Aniston has turned the 'his' into a spa bath with a soaking tub,"
the magazine reports. Her master bedroom features a wool-and-silk shag carpet, and a platform bed with a TV at the foot.

And Aniston, 40, even describes the Zen-influenced home – whose palette was drawn from Brazilian cumaru (teak) – in an affectionate way. "It's like a big hug," she says in the issue, on sale Feb. 9.

Built on a hillside in 1970 with sweeping views of the city, Aniston calls the house "Ohana," a reference to the Hawaiian idea of extended family. She says the single-level home "vibrates with the love that created it." Among those who worked with Aniston was designer Stephen Shadley, who also has collaborated with Diane Keaton and Woody Allen.

The house features Aniston's fruitwood Sauter piano from the 1960s, a dining room that seats 24, and a 1920s Thai gong to summon diners to the long walnut table.

"I entertain for a living, and I entertain," she says. "The house has a rather glamorous, old-fashioned Hollywood quality. I can just imagine the Rat Pack stopping by; someone is playing the piano, and people are laughing in the next room."

"Full House" House For Sale

It's one of the saddest moments of youth: when the home you grew up in is sold off to strangers. And now it's about to happen to the house that all America grew up with.

Yes, folks, it's true: the house featured on the beloved family sitcom 'Full House' is being offered up for sale to the highest bidder. According to NBC Los Angeles, the stately Victorian home, which was featured in the opening credits for most of the show's eight seasons, is on the block with an asking price of $4.1 million.

Though the picturesque dwelling is located on some of San Francisco's most prestigious real estate -- it is located in Alamo Square, in what is known as Postcard Row -- the asking price is still raising some eyebrows considering similar homes in the neighborhood have been selling for closer to $1.5 million.

But there can be no doubt that the unique pedigree 722 Steiner brings to the table boosts its value over any other mere hovel. After all, for an entire generation of television fans, 'Full House' represents a halcyon age of family, friendship and laughter. And is any price too high to preserve that legacy?

No word yet on whether any of the show's stars, such as Beach Boy drummer John Stamos, funnyman Bob Saget or acting phenoms Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will become involved in the bidding, but one thing's for sure: whoever lands this house will have acquired a true national treasure.

(Note: There has been some debate as to the real location of the 'Full House' house; as the article points out, some claim that it actually resides at 1709 Broderick St.)

I always loved how the set of Full House didn't match the exterior at all. But my dream would be to live here forever and ever. ONTD should pool its resources and buy it, y/y?

EDIT: It appears people are reporting the Full House house is for sale when in fact it's another well-known house in San Fran. I am confused. But we can still dream of buying it.

Tahar Rahim on starring in the unforgettable A Prophet

Tahar Rahim, its talented star, describes how he turned a murderous gangster into a positive role model for French Arabs

It’s that one unforgettable and deeply disquieting moment, early in the movie, where the award-winning prison drama A Prophet suddenly shows its teeth. Here, an impressionable Arab convict called Malik, played by the 28-year-old French actor Tahar Rahim, is forced to commit murder. Thrust into the cell of a gay Arab informant called Reyeb (Hichem Yacoubi) and armed only with a razorblade nestled treacherously along his gumline, Malik must cut the throat of the only man to have shown him a hint of kindness. If he doesn’t, he will face certain death at the hands of the Corsican mobsters who run the prison from the inside.

The ensuing to and fro between Malik and Reyeb, at first conversational and then terrifyingly physical, is a squirm-inducing opening climax that lets you know that A Prophet is going to be more than a powerful arthouse prison movie — it is, in fact, going to be one of the greatest movies of the year.

Eminem Post People!!!!!!!

Warning! Story is pure rumour since the source is mediatakeout after all :-D

February 03, 2010. MediaTakeOut.com just learned that rapper Eminem is about to be a daddy again - by his longtime love/babys mother/ex-wife Kim.

According to our pals over at Star Magazine, Kim and Em got back together a few months ago. You'll recall that after their last BREAKUP, Kim went on Detroit radio stations AIRING HIM OUT - claiming that he is a drug addict with a small thing, and doesn't know how to use it.

Well anyway, here is what Star is saying:
Eminem, 37, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, and Kim, who's due this Spring, got back together last June said the source.

"When he came into Kim's life again in a romantic way, she was floored," said the friend. "Kim's pregnany is going smoothly." Another friend adds that they're expecting a boy.

Well, they do have history together so . . . we're gonna keep our opinions to ourselves. . .

idk-for some crazy ass reason i like them together. And no matter what people say all three of their kids (hailie, Alaina, and Whitney) all seem stable, make good grades and have normal social lives and Em says he is expecting them to all go to college. Despite everything they seem like overall good parents. Plus a lil Eminem would be oh so cute! But like i said this mediatakeout so who knows if Em and Kim are even together :-P

Also just so everyone knows since this question is ALWAYS asked Em has 3 girls: Alaina: who is 16/17 and is Kim's sister's daughter. Who Em and Kim adopted. Hailie: who is 14 and everyone knows and Whitney: I think is like 8ish and is Kim's daughter from a loser and Em adopted her. They all call him dad :D

Also I know everyone likes to posts pictures of Hailie now but please dont :( Em tries really hard to keep them out of the media. You dont need to see pictures of a 14 year old girl. Your life will go on without seeing what she looks like now! so if the mods approves this i might delete comments that have her picture!

See ya!

Adam Garcia Blames Lindsay Lohan Troubles On 'Bad Parenting'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Actor Adam Garcia has blamed bad parenting for his Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen co-star Lindsay Lohan's personal troubles.

The actress has been embroiled in several legal dramas since she shot to fame as a child, and her personal and family life has, at times, been a much-publicised mess in recent years.

She has battled substance abuse problems, attended rehab and waged a bitter war of words with her father over the Internet - and her former co-star has watched Lohan's life spiral down with dismay.

Garcia, who starred alongside Lohan in the 2004 Disney film, is adamant the scandals have profoundly affected the actress

He tells Britain's Gay Times magazine, "I think that she's an absolute sweetheart, and she was a good actress too. She was in a better place then (during filming) than she is now.

"When you've been parented poorly, and given no boundaries as a 17 year old... it just really upsets me.

"People have really let her drop because they thought she deserved it. They did the same thing to Drew Barrymore.

Your parents made you who you are, but it's your own fault for staying that way.

Betty White To Rue McClanahan: “Drop Dead!”

Earlier this year, Rue, 75, suffered a stroke that has kept her hospitalized for weeks. Naturally, 88-year-old pal Betty was there to offer her well wishes for a speedy recovery; she sent Rue a heartfelt message which read: “Dear Rue, I hope you hurry up and die so I can be the last Golden Girl left. NOT KIDDING!”

But don’t worry, Rue thought the card was hilarious! Apparently “Drop Dead” is a term of endearment between these two.

Terrence Malick To Shoot New Film In Fall 2010 With Christian Bale, Javier Bardem & Rachel McAdams

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Terrence Malick has his next film lined up and ready to start shooting this fall. The director, known for his (massively long breaks between projects, is looking to shoot films pretty much back-to-back for the first time in his career.

Christian Bale (who had a role in Malick's 2005 film, "The New World") , Javier Bardem, Rachel McAdams, and Olga Kurylenko are all on board for an untitled romantic drama that will start filming this autumn. Like other Malick projects, we think its safe to say that details will be scarce on this one for a while. Financing will come from foreign rights which will be up for grabs at the European Film Market in Berlin. We assume they'll go like hotcakes.

We're blown away by the news. This must mean Malick's "Tree Of Life" is nearing the finish line and we assume will make a Cannes premiere and (most likely) get an early fall release date as previously speculated by Apparition. Oh yeah, there's also "Voyage Of Time," the IMAX doc that is a companion piece of sorts to "Tree Of Life" that will also see release soon. Parts of that will probably be weaved into "Tree of Life" and then the bigger picture will be the doc itself. Who knows when that hits theaters, but we would presume shortly after "Tree Of Life" eventually hits? It will be a must-see for Malick-completists, surely.

Mel Gibson keeps it classy, calls reporter an a**hole

Even though it has been nearly four years since Mel Gibson's notorious anti-semitic tirade, he still isn't ready to talk about it just yet. While promoting his latest film 'Edge of Darkness,' Dean Richards, an entertainment reporter for Chicago's WGN-TV interviewed the actor but the exchange turned sour when Richards asked the following: "Do you think the public will perceive you any differently after all that's been in the news about you?"

Gibson responds defensively, "That's almost four years ago, dude ... I've done all the necessary mea culpas. Let's move on." Of course, the interview quickly wraps up -- but not before Gibson mutters, "bye bye, a**hole" under his breath. Watch:

The Strokes Begin Recording New Album

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's good news for rock fans: The Strokes have begun recording their new album at New York City's Avatar Studios. The yet untitled release will be the quintet's first since 2007's First Impressions of Earth.

In a post to their website, the bandmembers confirmed that they're working with Grammy award winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (White Stripes, Beck, Bjork, My Morning Jacket) and engineer Gus Oberg (Bloc Party) on their fourth studio LP, and promise to document the process in "video vignettes."

So what should fans expect from the Strokes' big comeback album? Well, in a recent Q&A with SPIN, singer Julian Casablancas said the band certainly have something to prove.

"We got to the top of the underground, but we never got as big as Green Day or Creed or any of the bands we were supposed to be replacing in 2001," he explained. "So, in my mind, here's still a step to take. I hope we can do it."

And so do we -- but it sounds like it won't be easy. Casablancas admitted in a different interview that the boys were in "disagreement as to whether the songs are ready."

He added, "We're not like people who go to the movies together. It's weird with the band, a band is actually a great way to ruin a friendship."

Then, in a New York Magazine feature, Casablancas -- who recently released the SPIN-approved solo effort Phrazes for the Young -- raised another problem: "We split the money… but we didn't split the work," he said.

The quintet is slated to headline both the Isle of Wright and Rockness 2010 festivals in the UK early this June.

Comical genius reminisces about fierce, talented wife...

Brooks recalls Anne Bancroft as wife, collaborator

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

NEW YORK – Mel Brooks has made audiences laugh for more than a half century, but it was his wife, the late Anne Bancroft, who made him smile.

It's been nearly five years since the actress passed away, but not a day goes by that Brooks doesn't think about her.

"I had 45 of the greatest years of my life," Brooks says.

During a recent interview, the 83-year old Brooks recalled their first meeting in 1961. It was on the set of "The Perry Como Show" in New York, where Bancroft was performing a song called "Married, I Could Always Get." After she finished, she was greeted by Brooks who proclaimed, "I'm Mel Brooks and I'm going to marry you."

Bancroft responded: "Hey, I have your record." She was referring to the classic comedy album Brooks did with Carl Reiner, "The Two-Thousand Year Old Man."

"The album came out in 1960, and this was Feb. 5, 1961," Brooks recalls. "From that day, until her death on June 5, 2005, we were glued together."

The Brooklyn-born Brooks began his career as a writer for Sid Caesar's "Your Show of Shows." Alumni from that classic TV program included Reiner, Larry Gelbart, Neil Simon and Woody Allen.

After the success of his comedy record, Brooks established a long career as a writer, director and actor. His first feature film, 1968's "The Producers," won an Academy Award for best screenplay. It became a Broadway hit in 2001.

"Anne was responsible," Brooks says of turning his Oscar script into a Tony-winning musical.

Brooks says he was approached by David Geffen to do the musical version of the film, but was reluctant at first. Tensions increased when Geffen suggested bringing in Jerry Herman to write the remainder of the songs. It was then that Bancroft intervened.

"I won't let you do this, if they don't let you do the score," she told him. "That's the only reason to do it, the score."

Brooks went back to Geffen, and told him: "It's me or no musical." And the rest is history as "The Producers" won a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards.

Brooks says Bancroft always had his best interests at heart right until the end. One of the last things she did was help him structure "Young Frankenstein" as a musical.

"She suggested where and when to sing, and what to save (from the film version)," Brooks said. "She was wonderful."

Bancroft did not live to see the show's Broadway opening in late 2007.

"I had to open it without her," Brooks says, choking up. "It was hard. It's still hard."

If I ever marry, I hope it's a fabulous relationship like this frreal.

Lil Wayne covers Rolling Stone before he heads off to jail

For a decade, Lil Wayne has been hip-hop’s great unstoppable force, a 24-hour-a-day recording machine without an off button. But on February 9th, Lil Wayne will have to stop — for 12 months, when he reports to prison to serve a sentence for gun possession stemming from a 2007 arrest in New York City. Rolling Stone stays up all night with Weezy as he prepares to get locked down in our new issue, which is on sale at newsstands today.

“I don’t like to stop,” Wayne tells RS‘ Chris Norris. “I believe you stop when you die.” So in the weeks before he reports to Rikers Island, Wayne is keeping busy — recording tracks bound for Tha Carter IV (the album Cash Money staffers call “C4″ because it’ll be the bomb), shooting videos with his Young Money protégés, spending time with his growing family, and deliberately not asking anyone for advice about life on the inside. “This is Lil Wayne going to jail. Nobody I can talk to can tell me what that’s like,” he says. “I just say I’m looking forward to it.”

While Weezy’s away, his label is relocating to New York to be near him, and his manager Cortez Bryant is exploring ways to keep Wayne in his fans’ minds for the duration — from jailhouse Twitter accounts to endorsements. “I’ll have an iPod, and I”ll make sure they keep sending me beats,” Lil Wayne says. Tha Carter IV — which Norris is told features tougher, faster beats — is scheduled to arrive shortly after he gets out.

Read the full story in the new issue for Wayne’s comments on giving up drank, growing older and fearing God, plus a close-up look at one of his intense late-night recording sessions. And check out Norris’ essay on his time with Wayne, Weezy Phone Home: Is Lil Wayne Hip-Hop’s Alien or Simply the Greatest?, only online.

Rolling Stone is also offering the chance to win a copy of Lil Wayne documentary The Carter and a special Weezy T-shirt. Click here for details on the sweepstakes.

Taylor Swift Backlash: Readers Weigh In

MTV News readers react to 'Why You Shouldn't Hate On Taylor Swift' article.

On Tuesday, MTV News published an article titled "Why You Shouldn't Hate On Taylor Swift" in response to what appears to be a budding backlash against the singer, judging from various articles and comments on our articles in the wake of four wins at the Grammy Awards and her uneven performance on the show. Unsurprisingly, that article has also gotten a lot of comments, many of them in defense of hating on Taylor Swift.

Judging from the comments, it appears that there are a whole lot of folks out there who feel Swift didn't deserve to win her Album of the Year Grammy on Sunday night for a whole lot of reasons, most of which opine that Swift's live performances can't match the majesty of Gaga's Warholian exploits or Beyoncé's otherworldly contortions. Or, conversely, she only won because of industry-wide sympathy for her ... or even due to an apparent conspiracy against Gaga. We got comments in support of Swift as well.

Avatar Outgrosses Titanic Domestically

'Avatar' tops 'Titanic' record in U.S.

Cameron epic totals $601.2 million as of Wednesday

By Carl DiOrio

Feb 3, 2010, 10:46 AM ET

James Cameron's "
Avatar" has completed its three-part flight into history, surpassing a domestic boxoffice record that's stood since the filmmaker's "Titanic" completed its theatrical run in 1998.

The 3D phenom previously shredded the international and worldwide b.o. records set by "Titantic."

On Wednesday, "Avatar" distributor Fox said the sci-fi epic had rung up $601.1 million in domestic b.o. through Tuesday. "Titanic" registered $600.8 million in U.S. and Canadian coin.

So how high can "Avatar" fly?

"I have no idea where we go from here," Fox domestic distribution president Bruce Snyder said. "The only picture that has gotten this high was "Titanic,' but 'Avatar' is coming off of a $30 million weekend while 'Titanic' was ending its theatrical run at the same point in the cume."

"Avatar" -- which scored nine Oscar nominations Tuesday -- boasts a foreign tally of $1.48 billion and counting, shaping a worldwide cume of $2.08 billion.

A rise in ticket prices over the past decade-plus since "Titanic" gave "Avatar" a big advantage of its filmmaker's last dramatic feature. And 3D ticket upcharges represent another revenue-padder for "Avatar."

Movie admissions are another matter. First released in 1939, "Gone with the Wind" is still rated the top ticket seller of all time.

Meantime, News Corp. chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch was asked about the prospect of an "Avatar" sequel on Tuesday and noted the Fox parent was "pushing for one." Cameron also has noted he has a couple ideas about how to script any sequels.

John Mayer is known for dating beautiful women -- and clearly doesn't discriminate on their ages. The 32-year-old rocker, who was previously involved with 40-year-old Jennifer Aniston, is now rumored to be dating Taylor Swift, 20.

"Taylor and John are absolutely more than 'just friends,'" a source tells Hollywoodlife.com.

"They aren't 'boyfriend and girlfriend' or anything as provincial as that, but they have taken their friendship to the next level," the source adds.

Rumors about the pair have been floating around for a few weeks. And the Grammy-winning Swift doesn't mind.

"I try not to be a complainer, you know?" she told Usmagazine.com about the reports.

Despite the fact that all of what’s come before 2010 for Jackson (the aforementioned songs, the film Poetic Justice, that sick – in a good way – “Scream” video with her brother, directed by Mark Romanek) is pretty damn fierce, when she meets me in a conference room in her Upper West Side apartment building, she is unexpectedly unassuming, quiet and shy. She speaks at a decibel below ours, perhaps to preserve her energy and voice. Her wardrobe? She’s wearing a sweater and jeans, and a pair of super high Fendi ankle boots. We start with a little chitchat, mostly about what she’s doing in New York, which leads us to the topic of the photo shoot she did for Wonderland.

Lauren Conrad Refuses To Invite Some 'Hills' Cast To Her Birthday Party

Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic

Lauren Conrad wanted fireworks to go off on her birthday – and we’re not talking the kind that come from the brand of drama that only former Hills co-stars Heidi Montag, 23, and Spencer Pratt, 26, can create. So she did what any smart woman would do – she didn’t invite them to her shindig at the Roosevelt Hotel Jan. 30.

“Heidi, Spencer and Audrina simply weren’t invited, but why would they be?” one partygoer tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “Instead, Lauren wanted to celebrate with the people she loved.”

Namely, that person is boyfriend Kyle Howard, 31. He and LC (who actually turned 24 on Feb. 1) as well as about 20 of her friends, dined at The Dakota inside the Roosevelt before her big bash inside the hotel’s penthouse. “Lauren and Kyle were laughing and enjoying themselves. He’s so sweet and attentive with her, and he so obviously wanted her to have a great night,” says our spy.

After the dinner, Lauren – who’s second novel Sweet Little Lies hit shelves today, Feb. 2, partied to the tunes of DJ Cobra with 75 friends including Lauren “Lo” Bosworth, The City starlet Whitney Port, nightlife impresario Brent Bolthouse, members of the indie band Phoenix and even Glee’s Matthew Morrison (this guy gets around)!

But Kyle and Lauren’s relationship wasn’t the only thing to set off sparks on her big night: her cake literally was covered in fireworks. “The cake was in the shape of a giant chocolate-ycupcake with real live sparklers! It was super cute,” the source says, adding that when the dessert was wheeled out, “Lauren immediately called for Kyle to come over and stand next to her while she blew out her candles!”

But there WAS one small hitch in the icing on Lauren’s cake: apparently some of her party guests had slightly sticky fingers. “As the bash was winding down, people were leaving and trying to take bottles of liquor with them. Let’s just say some were successful and some weren’t!” chuckles our insider.

Regardless of guests helping themselves to their own personal bottle service, LC, your party sounds pretty awesome.

They snuck in through the kitchen, held hands through the evening and laughed heartily at each other's jokes. To many witnesses of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's recent surprise date at the Directors Guild of America Awards, the pair's affection was the real deal. They were a loving couple," says a guest who spent time with them throughout the Jan. 30 event. "It was nothing you could fake. You could feel it, and you could see in their body language that it's just a beautiful relationship. They were very sweet and tender with each other."

Pitt, who was there to present a nomination medallion to his Inglourious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino, was attentive to Jolie, with whom he has six children. "Angie just decided to go to DGAs to support Brad. They had a great time," says a source close to the couple.

Coming in the wake of rumors that the couple had called it quits, cynics had raised questions about the outing. But people who saw the couple say they not only stayed through the entire four-plus hour event but remained afterwards to chat with guests and sign autographs.

"You read all those things about them, but it is hard to believe any of it based off of how they were together," says a second guest. "Those two were very much together."

Ne-Yo: 'Rihanna Assault Was Unacceptable'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
R&B singer Ne-Yo is backing a campaign against domestic violence with a new song, "Heroes." Ne-Yo is donating proceeds from the single to the nonprofit organization Respect!, which aims to end abuse and promote respect in relationships.

While introducing the song at a listening party earlier this week, Ne-Yo cited last year's infamous incident between Rihanna and Chris Brown as a reason for teaming up with the organization. "What happened between Chris Brown and Rihanna was unacceptable, and we need to all work together and make sure it never happens again to anyone", he told the crowd.

“It’s unfortunate that it took an incident like that between Chris Brown and Rihanna to occur for this issue to gain awareness. This song is about being a hero to your significant other,” he added. “Coming from a home where there was domestic abuse going on with my mom and my dad, it struck a nerve with me so I wrote this song.”

Duggars help save life.

Two of the Duggar sons, Joshua and John, are being hailed as heroes, after family members said they helped save the life of a 6-year-old girl injured in a car crash last week.

The crash happened right in front of Joshua's car dealership on Thompson Street last Thursday afternoon.

Three cars rear-ended each other that day, and Joshua quickly came to their aid.

“I thought fender bender, no big deal, happens quite often here actually. And then I realized there was a little girl,” said Joshua.

Joshua said the girl was sitting in the front seat, airbags had been deployed and she wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

He immediately called 911 and brought her into his office.

“The little girl was unconscious. She was not breathing,” said Joshua.

He and his brother, John, immediately started CPR.

“My brother -- he started doing chest compressions on her. I was helping elevate and tilt her head back some,” said Joshua.

Minutes later, paramedics showed up. And with the Duggars’ help, they were able to revive Maddye.

“They realized there was something blocking her airway. She had been eating chicken nuggets when the accident happened and it caused the blockage of the airway,” said Joshua.

Maddye is still in the hospital being treated for her injuries, but family members say little Maddye wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for Joshua's quick thinking.

“He is the hero here. He deserves a lot of credit for what he did and I thank him from the bottom of my heart,” said Joshua.

But Joshua isn't taking all the credit. He said he just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

“The Springdale paramedics did a phenomenal job. I was just a piece of the puzzle, a very small piece at that, that really helped to saved Maddye's life. And I'm just really grateful to be a part of it,” said Joshua.

Maddye was flown to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock -- the same hospital where the 19th Duggar, Josie Brooklyn, was born nearly three months prematurely.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar paid a visit to Maddye's room Tuesday night, and they said she is in critical condition but expected to do OK.

"Get Ready For Watchmen 2"

I’ve heard this one rumbling for a while now. First there was the story that DC Comics Publisher and President Paul Levitz had personally prevented any Watchmen 2 projects, because, despite their differences, he believed that as this would be against Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ wishes, it would cause bery bad feeling in the creative community and would be a creatively bankrupt move.

Moore fell out massively with DC Comics, and Paul Levitz specifically, not only choosing not to work with them any further, but scuppering spinoff projects, removing his name from any movie credits and any money due to him from said movies, and taking his one final project The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, from Wildstorm, a publisher DC had purchased.

But in the wake of the movie, Watchmen became DC’s best selling comic book of all time. One might say partly because it had remained undiluted after all this time.

But there were moves. A Wizard splash showing DC’s Countdown multiverse had Rorschach as one of the combatants and it was rumoured one of the universes in the DC 52 Multiverse was intended to be the Watchmen world. Instead, Earth 4 became a world inspired by elements of Watchmen and the Charlton Heroes universe but with other aspects such as the laws of physics being altered.

But the news broke that Paul Levitz was stepping down from DC Comics as both President and Publisher, I wondered what that meant for the possibility of a Watchmen sequel. Certainly in a hundred years, you couldn’t expect there not to be one.

Well, it seems to be happening a lot sooner than I thought. I understand now that this considered a pet project of Dan DiDio, SVP-Executive Editor. That he is determined to impress new bosses by building on DC’s biggest selling comic book of all time with multiple prequel comic miniseries and spinoff ongoing projects.

I understand that both Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons have to be offered first refusal before any of these titles could be published. But if they don’t want to work on them themselves (and Alan Moore is never going to agree), DiDio has been sounding out people who might be willing to take on the task.

While some creators are reticent, the argument goes if there are a number of Watchmen spinoff projects, any blame or shame can be spread on many shoulders. The sales are expected to be massive, whatever the hardcore fanboy reaction and such expected sales benefits will be shared amongst the creative teams.

In contrast, not only would Levitz not allow any new Watchmen stories but even the video game was restricted to material in the graphic novel and film, nothing brand new was allowed to be invented. Despite differences with Moore, Levitz has held fast to the committment that the comic is the comic is the comic.

It seems that this may now change.

At this stage, having disowned himself of much of it, Alan Moore is likely not to care. Though we might get an eviscerating blast at some point if this all comes to pass.

Both Jim Baike, Rich Veitch and Gene Ha/Zander Cannon are artists who have taken on writing chores on books previously written by Alan Moore, to continue the storyline. The most creatively-acceptable solution would be Dave Gibbons writing and drawing new Watchmen titles. But DiDio’s plans seem much larger than just one book.

And of course, in those initial movie contracts with Fox, there was a clause that included sequels to a Watchmen movie.

When asked, Dave Gibbons only replied “Hurm…”

(via Bleeding Cool)

TBQH, I'd love for it to happen, if for nothing else than to see/hear Alan Moore implode. If he cares, that is...

Peter Andre Breaks Down Live On Sky News

Peter Andre broke down in tears during a live interview today when quizzed about Katie Price's new husband Alex Reid. The Australian singer was overcome with emotion when probed by Kay Burley about the role the cage-fighter would play in his children's lives.

He asked to cut the segment short as he struggled to hold back tears, declaring: 'Nobody is going to take my kids away from me.'

Andre, 36, was ostensibly on the programme to promote his new Valentine's Day album, Unconditional Love Songs. But it of course coincided with news his ex-wife had remarried in a Las Vegas ceremony overnight.

Andre did his utmost to deflect questions about the wedding, repeatedly stating that he was only concerned about his children. When pushed about Reid, he said: 'I don't know the man, I've never met him.

'I couldn't care less, I'm so sorry, I'm not being bitter.'
He said Junior, 4, and Princess, 2, were not yet aware Price and Reid had wed, adding: 'I guess it's something I'm going to have to explain to them.'

But the interview took a turn when Burley played a clip from a previous interview with Dwight Yorke, the father of Price's disabled son, Harvey, 7. In the clip, which Andre had not seen before, Dwight described Andre's request to adopt Harvey as 'disrespectful'.

An incensed Andre responded: 'I asked to adopt him because I love him, not to be disrespectful. That angers me a little bit.'

Burley then asked how he would feel if Celebrity Big Brother winner Reid wanted to adopt his children. A clearly distressed Andre replied: 'No one is going to take my kids away from me. And I will fight to the death for that.'

He repeated: 'Nobody is going to take those kids away from me. It's not going to happen.'

Teary-eyed, he eventually said: 'I'd rather just stop this if that's alright.'

Burley apologised for upsetting him and later told concerned viewers that 'everything's fine'.

Price, 31, and Reid, 34, exchanged vows at a wedding chapel at Las Vegas' Wynn Hotel yesterday, and went on to celebrate at a string of strip clubs including Spearmint Rhino.

They'll be joined by Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick as well as Jennifer Lopez and Marisa Miller. Sounds like there may be some more shirtless Kellan in our future and perhaps some bikinis if the weather is right. The star-studded scrimmage is just one of many festivities planned in Miami this weekend leading up to Sunday's big game.

BBC America 'Best of David Tennant' Video

For those of you still crying in your screwdrivers over David Tennant's exit from 'Doctor Who,' and waiting for Matt Smith to fill the void, BBC America has posted a three-minute video of "Tennant's greatest moments as the Doctor" to promote 'Doctor Who: The Complete Specials,' which is out today.

The clip takes us from "new teeth, that's weird" all the way up to the Master's death, with a good number of clips from the specials in between. And of course, Daleks and Cybermen. There are some nice reminders of how good Tennant was at playing both drama and comedy on the show, including his back and fourth with Sky Silvestry ("Shamble bobble dibble dooble") from 'Midnight' from series four and his exchange with a would-be companion from 'Planet of the Dead' ("People have traveled with me and I've lost them, lost them all").So until we get a new Doctor, here's one last (?) look back at Tennant:

New Transgendered Theme Reality Show Being Shopped Around; Sandra Rose Trashes "Trannies"

Picture this: it’s 2 a.m. and your night is winding down at a popular Atlanta nightspot. The DJ has just announced the last call for alcohol and you realize time is running out for you to make your move on the honey with the light eyes that you’ve been checking out across the room for the last 30 minutes.

Why hasn’t another man tried to make a move on her, you wonder. You dismiss your nagging suspicions that something isn’t quite right. Besides, you’re feeling super confident: she’s been checking you out too. You both maintain steady eye contact as you make your way across the crowded dance floor towards her.

With the bass from Ludacris’ hit single “How Low” pounding in the background, you tell yourself she’s already yours. You just have to seal the deal. With luck, she’ll accept your invitation back to your condo, or at least to breakfast. Your target is within reach when you notice a movement out of the corner of your eye. It’s a casual acquaintance you know from the hood and he’s moving in on your target. But wait, he now turns towards you and blocks your path.

“Don’t do it bruh,” he shouts as you strain to hear him over the loud music. “That’s a dude!”

A production company called Red Label Group is shopping around a new reality show called “Boss Ladies” featuring 5 trannies who hope to open up a boutique featuring their unique fashions. The cast includes rapper Bow Wow’s friend Nadia (pictured top and 2nd from left above) who frequents the mostly straight Atlanta nightspots looking for ballers. The thinking is: she’s got bills to pay too. And since the ballers won’t come to the gay clubs, she’ll go to the ballers playground.

There’s nothing wrong with being transgendered. It is the dishonesty, the unspoken truth, and the deception surrounding them that is wrong.

The game has just gotten a little more serious for you heterosexual men.

FOX on Conan O'Brien: Only if it's profitable

Conan O'Brien could very well end up on FOX by the fall -- provided the network can show its corporate bosses that a late-night show would make money.

So sayeth Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of FOX parent News Corp. On a conference call discussing the company's financial results Wednesday (Feb. 3), Murdoch said the network is giving a late-night show "a lot of thought and examination."

"Certainly if the program people can show us that we could do it, and be fairly confident of making a profit on it, we'd do it in a flash," Murdoch said.

The "if" there is a pretty sizable one, though. FOX affiliates run syndicated shows after their late local newscasts, and those tend to be moneymakers for the stations. They would have to sign off on any late-night franchise, about which Murdoch said, "I'm sure we'll have some difficult negotiations, but I'm speculating. We'll have to wait and see."

At any rate, a deal between FOX and the former "Tonight Show" host is a ways off. "I'm sure there have been some conversations [with O'Brien]," Chase Carey, News Corp.'s president and COO, said on the call, "but if you mean real negotiation, no."

O'Brien's departure from NBC stipulated that he couldn't host a show anywhere else until September.

Ellis-Bextor album delayed until autumn

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has delayed the release of her fourth studio album until the autumn.

The singer, who teamed up with acts including Calvin Harris, Metronomy, Freemasons and Liam Howe on the record, revealed that she first wants to perform some live dates.

"We're talking about maybe doing a festival or two, although at the moment all the planning is in the embryonic stage," she said.

"I don't think the album will be out until after festivals this year. Probably in the autumn."

Ellis-Bextor recently revealed that the first single from the new record is called 'Bittersweet' and is due out in April.

She also confirmed that she intends to release a further single by the summer.

Ellis-Bextor's third studio album Trip The Light Fantastic reached number seven in May 2007.

I really wanted this to be the hit that TTLF deserved to be, but I'm not feeling too positive.

Frances Bean Cobain, Gerard Way, Andrew WK on Amanda Palmer Side Project LP

We’ve been posting quite a bit about Dresden Dolls frontwoman/solo artist/human statue Amanda Palmer of late, but nary a post about a new album (solo or otherwise) from our favorite Brechtian punk cabaret singer/songwriter… until tonight.

First the good news: Palmer and longtime friend/collaborator Jason Webley announced that their side project Evelyn Evelyn, a duo that purports to be “conjoined twins who had spent their lives trapped in the circus industry” will release their debut LP this spring.

And now the soon-to-be-viral news: Their eponymous full-length album will include “an anthemic 80’s power ballad entitled ‘My Space’” featuring “gang vocals” by “Weird Al” Yankovic, My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way, Andrew WK, writer/Palmer fiancé Neil Gaiman, Tegan and Sara, and Frances Bean Cobain.

The album is due out March 30th on Eleven Records (take that Roadrunner!) and a European tour has been announced with a full US and Canadian tour to follow. Meanwhile, watch Palmer and Webley perform as faux-conjoined twins here, download a free track that they’ve given us to share here, or stream a few Evelyn Evelyn songs on the MySpace page where “they were discovered” here.

**Update: We need to add more names to the epic list above! According to Chantal Claret, she and members of Mindless Self Indulgence (her husband, Jimmy Urine is their frontman and Gerard Way’s wife, Lyn-Z, is their bassist) have also contributed to this project. Wow, I can’t wait to hear this thing.

MTV, internet, and entire world gives up on "iamamiwhoami"

An Open Letter To 'Iamamiwhoami,' Whoever You Are
Our writer's obsession with the viral campaign is getting unhealthy, in Bigger Than the Sound.

Dear Macabre and Strangely Masochistic Evil Geniuses Behind the "Iamamiwhoami" Viral Campaign:

You're killing me. Seriously, you are. I know that may be difficult to hear, what with the albumen and mud in your ears, but I need to say it. I think you might have to end this, not because I've grown tired of you, or because I love you any less. Quite the opposite, in fact. I love you too much. I am neglecting my job, checking your YouTube account 15 times a day, spending my nights cooking up long-winded theories about your true identity and attempting to crack your bizarre numeric codes. It's getting unhealthy. And it needs to stop.

For the tl;dr crowd, MTV blogger obsessed with iamamiwhoami states the sentiment we've all been feeling: This viral campaign has become a complete fail but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHEN WILL YOU POST ANOTHER VIDEO??

EDIT: For those unfamiliar with this viral campaign that is supposedly to promote some music artist (The Knife, Xtina, and Gaga have all been guesses), I added the videos under the cut. Also reference these excellent posts here and here to learn more about this fuckery, which will most likely end in severe disappointment, and probably a night of binge drinking for the dude who wrote this article.

HBO renews 'Big Love'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

HBO still has lots of love for the Mormon drama "Big Love."

Four episodes into the series' fourth season, the cable network has renewed the Playtone-produced show for a fifth season.

"Love," which centers on Utah native Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) as he balances the needs of his three wives (Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny, Ginnifer Goodwin) and their broods, drew 1.7 million viewers for its season premiere last month. That was up 49% from Season 3's opener.

Despite facing the NFC Championship and the Grammys the past two Sundays, the series is tracking 13% higher than last season.

"Love," whose current story line centers on Henrickson running for office, will be getting "deeper and darker" in the second half of the season, according to creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer.

With four eventful seasons, the fifth cycle will take a breather, "settling into the storytelling," Olsen said.

Added Scheffer, "We want to take the temperature of the marriages."

With the exception of the departing Amanda Seyfried (actually, Amanda has confirmed that she will come back next year,  but as guest for a few episodes), the series' core cast will come back for Season 5, with Olsen and Scheffer also mulling a possible return for new additions Zeljko Ivanek and Sissy Spacek.

"Love," which earned its first best series Emmy nomination last year, is executive produced by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, David Knoller, Bernadette Caulfield, Olsen and Scheffer.
