USA - Having never been a strikingly beautiful, high-paid, and pregnant model - I am certainly not the one to pass judgment. But please do allow me to pass on the news: Jourdan Dunn, the 19 year old model who's catwalked her way from the runways of Milan to the pages of American Vogue has decided to model during the upcoming Spring 2010 shows, starting next week. What's the issue here? Well, that she's five months pregnant. New York Magazine's fashion blog, The Cut, reports that Dunn's is part of the line up of models auditioning to walk in shows this season. In fact, her "comp card," (essentially a business card for models) is making the rounds along with those of other models from her agency, Women. Dunn has yet to confirm that she is, but the possibility of her walking down the runway prompts mixed feelings to say the least. On one hand, kudos for the work ethic. On the other hand, what's that brilliant passage which reminds us "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: A time work and a time to rest?" One would think pregnancy would certainly justify a time to rest, no? Not judging....just asking.
It looked like Jourdan Dunn, who is about five months pregnant with her first child, would walk this season when her comp card was included in her agency's show package. However, a representative from Women agency in New York confirmed the 19-year-old model will sit this season out. She will be missed.
Not only did "Real Housewife of Orange County" Lynne Curtin not own the house she was living in, she also didn't own the furniture ... and now she's accused of stealing a bunch of stuff after she moved out this week.
The actual homeowner claims Curtin stole a bookcase, credenza, armoire and a glass shelf -- worth around $5,000 -- and reported the alleged thievery to Laguna Beach Police Department yesterday.
The homeowner also claims the home's carpet was trashed, there were holes in the walls and the travertine tub was damaged.
We got a statement from the homeowner, who said, "I am blown away that grown people can behave this way. They have daughters, how can they seriously think they are setting an example."
WHO GON' CHECK ME, BOO?
Some of the new interview:
'Starting out so young, the idea of 'fame', to me, was for people who were much older -- who had won Oscars or done amazing things. I always saw it as something of a much higher calibre. So many girls have become famous for literally nothing -- other than falling out of clubs in shocking clothing or going out with a different person every week,' she muses.
'Some people promote their work so much that suddenly they are the next 'it' thing, and then there are those people who are working away, building up their body of work that seem to not be recognised because they are much more discreet about what they do. I prefer to slowly build myself up so that when I do bring out things that I've made or created, I feel that's the best I can do. Everything that I do, I will do it more and more until I know this is the one I want to show people, rather than keep producing quite commercially.'

They were super sweet when we met them and shook their hands. I seriously hope that Billy Crawford didn't think we were all star-struck over him, although there was this one rabid fan (complete with Billy Crawford pins on her bag) who kept yelling: 'Go Billy' and 'I love you Billy' behind us while he was performing.
Oh and Joe was really funny and nice:

How odd, but how brilliant to be reviewing a Cheryl Cole single. It feels wrong but surprisingly right.
So here's the thing to get out of the way: 'Fight For This Love' is not a Girls Aloud single. It's a fresh-sounding modern pop record, but it's not Girls Aloud. It's not supposed to be Girls Aloud. Brian Higgins has talked of Xenomania's big flashpoint at the start of the decade coming as a reaction to the R&B-styled pop tuneage that dominated the charts and was, at that point, 'the sound of pop'. 'Fight For This Love' is, if anything, almost an 'anti-Xenomania' record - Cheryl Colo's debut solo single is an R&B-styled pop tune. Most significantly, very importantly for Cheryl's first solo tune outside Girls Aloud (but also, from the way it sounds, quite unselfconsciously) 'Fight For This Love' is very definitely not just a Girls Aloud single with one person singing it.

Nigella Lawson may get top marks for creativity while cooking up a feast - but when it comes to her recent fashion choices, the domestic goddess fails to score any brownie points.
The voluptuous foodie prefers to stick to wardrobe basics - the black dress. Nigella, 49, regularly chooses a floor length number in the flattering shade - perhaps to cover her curves and give the impression of a slimmer silhouette. But in this case, the shapeless look only succeeded in making her look frumpy. Matching the dress with espadrilles and a tatty briefcase, make-up free Nigella looked a far cry from the sexy hourglass beauty seen on screen.
Despite her fashion faux-pas though, Nigella's popularity hasn't waned. She was recently revealed to be the female celebrity with the most sought-after figure. A recent survey of 2,000 women found that two in three of them desired the 49-year-old's TV chef’s hourglass ‘in and out’ shape.
Make-up free Nigella has also recently admitted to only washing her hair once a week.

Jack Ingram has taken word-of-mouth to a new level. While promoting his album "Big Dreams & High Hopes," the country singer-songwriter shattered the Guinness World Record for the most radio interviews in 24 hours -- clocking in at a whopping 215.
"It's a noisy world out there and it's kind of hard to get your voice heard," says Ingram, who hasn't lost his gift for gab. "It was a great stunt and got the word out about my record in a big way."
Debuting this week at No. 21 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, Ingram's third Big Machine Records set was released August 25 -- the day Ingram kicked off his talk fest. The goal? To break the June record of 96 interviews in 24 hours set by communications gurus T.J. Walker and Jess Todtfeld. The previous record holders were Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump, who did 72 interviews one day in 2008.

This week’s EW features an exclusive First Look at the season premiere of How I Met Your Mother, specifically the awesomeness of Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) — wait for it — together in bed. After the two professed their feelings in last spring’s finale, season 5 kicks off with the pair trying to figure out their relationship…but more importantly, doing a lot of making out. “It seemed a dirty, dirty inevitability, a lusty endgame,” says Harris of the bedroom scene. “I will say that now that we don’t have to hide pregnant bellies, we’re gonna show a lot more skin on HIMYM.” (Both Smulders and co-star Alyson Hannigan spent much of last season hiding pregnancies.)

tbh I like her, but this interview made me fall in love with her even more. I think this is the most genuine interview she's given and she's just having fun with it with her own self deprecating, wry humor.

Zooey Deschanel has revealed that she never thought too much about marriage.
The American actress, who stars in anti rom-com (500) Days Of Summer alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is engaged to Death Cab For Cutie rocker Ben Gibbard.
"I try not to have too many expectations - I always admired the fact that my parents had been married for a long time, but I didn't necessarily think that was something I had to do too," she told the Daily Mirror.
"I thought of it as an option, but when I met Ben, I knew that all of a sudden, it had become something that made sense to me. He's a great person and I feel very lucky that I found somebody I'm excited to marry. It's fun to have someone that I'm so close to that I can talk about music with and who understands how important that is to me."
Zooey added: "Love is something you do. You can't always explain why you love somebody or why you don't."

We're not quite sure yet what the producers have in mind for the forthcoming ninth season of Smallville. Oh sure, we know what they're planning from the little we've gleaned from synopses, story fragments, guest characters announced, and so forth. And we know that the show seems to be taking a decidedly darker turn.
What's not completely clear is: why? Other than perhaps the obvious decision to follow in the footsteps of Chris Nolan's ginormously successful Dark Knight and try to leverage some of the popularity of the recent trend towards more obsidian tales.

Summary for the tl;dr - goes into the background of Spike Jonze's childhood and early film career, and the long process of making the movie (including the battles with studio execs). Mostly, though, Spike Jonze is awesome and a totally unconventional filmmaker, Maurice Sendak is also awesome, and the big film companies should let them do what they want. Also a line about how this movie pretty much appeals to 'hipsters'.
There's also a sneak peek of the HBO documentary "Tell Them Anything You Want" about Maurice Sendak (directed by Spike Jonze and Lance Bangs) at the source; you can also watch it here. Some of the footage was already in the iTunes featurette.

Annie Leibovitz's artsy, provocative portraits of celebrities regularly grace the covers of Vanity Fair and Vogue, images that have made her as famous as her subjects and earned her millions.
Now Leibovitz risks losing the copyright to the images — and her entire life's work — if she doesn't pay back a $24 million loan by Tuesday. Art Capital Group, a New York company that issues short-term loans against fine and decorative arts and real estate, sued her in late July for breach of contract.
"We have clear contractual rights and will protect them in any scenario," said ACG spokesman Montieth Illingworth on Friday. "Our preference is for this to be resolved."
Some experts say filing for bankruptcy reorganization could be the best option for Leibovitz, 59, who has put up as collateral her three historic Greenwich Village townhouses, an upstate property and work. She bought two of the townhouses in 2002, embarking on extensive renovations to combine them into one property. That spurred protests from historic preservationists and a $15 million lawsuit by a neighbor.
"Based on the magnitude of her obligations and the facts as they are publicly known, that would be the best option," said art lawyer Peter Stern.
Leibovitz's images of musicians, presidents and Hollywood glitterati are cultural touchstones. One of her earliest photos is of John Lennon curled up naked in a fetal position with Yoko Ono, taken just hours before he was assassinated in 1980.

Christina Aguilera almost lost the lyrics for a new song she is working on, after spontaneously writing down the words while she was dining.
The singer was eating at the Osteria Mozza restaurant in Los Angeles, when she suddenly came up with lyrics to a track for her next album - which she decided to quickly write down on a napkin.
But according to reports, when staff emptied the table following her meal, they took the serviette lyric sheet along with the dirty dishes.
"Christina wasn't looking when the busboy took the inked-up napkin. When she realised it was missing she ran after him." A source told the National Enquirer.
"Christina explained to the waiter what had happened and she found the napkin on top of a plate, unharmed."
Aguilera has been working on her 4th album for the most of 2009 in her home studio. With a working title of 'Light and Darkness', the record could be out before the year ends
Scott Evans and Brett Claywell as former lovers Oliver Fish and Kyle Lewis in "One Life to Live."
Actress Patricia Mauceri says she was fired and abruptly replaced for objecting to a gay storyline because of her religious beliefs.
Mauceri played the recurring role of Carlotta Vega on "One Life to Live" for the last 14 years. But when she objected to how the writers wanted her deeply religious character, a Latina mother, to handle a storyline involving homosexuality, she objected. And for that she claims she was fired.
Mauceri, 59, a devout Christian, told FOX News that character Vega's gay-friendly dialogue was not in line with the character she helped create by drawing on her own faith.
"I did not object to being in a gay storyline. I objected to speaking the truth of what that person, how that person would live and breathe and act in that storyline," she said. "And this goes against everything I am, my belief system, and what I know the character's belief system is aligned to."
Mauceri said she was replaced despite offering changes to the script and hoping for a compromise.
An ABC spokesperson said they were not aware of any such claims by Mauceri, adding such claims "would be frivolous."
When asked why Mauceri is no longer playing Carlotta Vega, the spokesperson said the show does not comment on personnel matters. The scene in question was scheduled to air Friday afternoon.
Mauceri told FOX News she is exploring her legal options. AFTRA, the actors union that represents her, did not respond to a request for comment.
This is a follow-up to this story from a couple of months ago. I understand that she's played the character for years and years, but at the same time, her main job as an actor is to portray the scenes that were given to her. As many people commented in the last post, "Acting. You're doing it wrong."

Jack Tweed has been remanded in custody today after being charged with rape.
Jade Goody's widower was remanded until September 21 to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
The 22-year-old, who wore a blue hoodie, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address at Redbridge Magistrates' Court, East London.
Yesterday fifteen cops swooped on Tweed's bachelor pad to arrest him and a pal over the alleged "roasting" rape of a teenage clubber.
The pair were taken to separate nicks in police vans after the 19-year-old accused Jade Goody's widower of forcing her to have sex as a chum joined in.
Last night cops quizzed Tweed, 22, and ex-boyband singer Ashley Rubin about what happened after the girl was invited back to the rented house in Essex from a London nightspot in the early hours.
The teenager, from Hertfordshire - described as "extremely distressed" - went to a nearby police station after leaving the swish pad in upmarket Repton Park at 5am with another girl who had gone there.

Here’s something for the “unconventional collaborations” files: American Idol country sweetheart Kellie Pickler has found a new partner in crime in fiercely flamboyant glam rocker Justin Tranter of Semi Precious Weapons. The pair met at New York’s Bryant Park last February, hit it off and stayed in touch. “We just clicked instantly, probably because we look like gorgeous blonde twins, both wearing 5-inch heels separated at birth and raised on different planets,” Tranter tells RS. “I have the
filthiest rock & roll band in New York, and she is a Southern Belle country music princess, but we can just talk for hours like we are the same girl.”
“After the show at Madison Square Garden, we went to a little restaurant and pigged out on French fries, macaroni and cheese and champagne,” Pickler says. “We ended up writing a song in the bathroom!” Tranter tells us the tune is called “Black Tears” and is “all about crying while wearing too much makeup. So country, so glam, so rock & roll, so beautiful.”
Tranter adds, “Kellie is so much more rock & roll than anyone knows. But I think the world will find out soon.”
