Fortune At Stake On Michael Jackson London Concerts

Michael Jackson's planned 50-show run at the O2 Arena in London would have been the highest-grossing single concert engagement. Now it's a major problem for the promoter AEG Live.
More than $85 million worth of tickets have already been sold for the series of performances, which have the now sadly ironic title "This Is It." As much as $30 million has already been spent on production, according to sources close to the situation. So what's at stake for AEG, the world's second-largest concert promoter, can't be overstated.

Concert business executives have estimated that AEG paid Jackson an advance of as much as $10 million. That, plus the production costs, would mean AEG stands to lose as much as $40 million if nonappearance insurance isn't substantial enough to cover this contingency. For AEG, "it's either horrible or really horrible," a concert business executive says....

...AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips told Billboard May 12 that his company was well-insured. "We have one policy in place and we're negotiating for an even larger binder," said Phillips, who couldn't immediately be reached for comment regarding Jackson's death. "We have insured the production costs. In order to get the first part of the insurance in place, [Jackson] had to have a physical, and he passed it with flying colors." AEG CEO Tim Leiweke made similar comments in March at the Billboard Music & Money Symposium...

Sky Saxon of '60s rock band the Seeds dies

Sky Saxon, lead singer and founder of the 1960s band the "Seeds," who had a Top 40 hit in 1967 with "Pushin' Too Hard," has died after a brief illness.

Publicist Jen Marchand said Saxon died Thursday but did not have other details. He was in his 60s.

The Seeds sprang up in California, and their garage-band sound with Saxon's distinctive vocals became a favorite of the flower power generation. Another hit single of 1967 was "Can't Seem to Make You Mine" and their song "Mr. Farmer" was included in the soundtrack for the movie "Almost Famous."

The Mick Jagger-influenced vocals by Saxon (born Richard Marsh) dominated the sound and in turn influenced later punk rockers.

"All the bikers around San Diego thought the Seeds were apocalypse, then," famed rock critic Lester Bangs wrote in "The Rolling Stone Illustrated History of Rock & Roll." "I recall one hog-ridin' couple ... who didn't take the Seeds' first album off their turntable for three solid months."

Saxon had recently moved to Austin, where he played with his new band, Shapes Have Fangs.

He had been planning to perform this summer with the California '66 Revue, a tour featuring a lineup of California bands from the 1960s.

I had to post this. I apologise if it was put in here earlier, but as a serious 60s garage-head, this is just crushing.

Latoya Jackson “Bruno” cameo removed out of respect for Michael Jackson

In the wake the shocking death of pop music’s beloved Peter Pan, the late Michael Jackson, a scene featuring LaToya Jackson in Sacha Baron’s Cohen’s new comedy,Bruno, was cut from the film prior to Thursday night’s Los Angeles premiere out of respect for the family of the musical genius.

LaToya, Michael Jackson’s older sister, made an accidental cameo in Bruno, a la Paula Abdul, after she was coaxed to a Los Angeles home for an interview with the fake Austrian fashion journalist.

The scene may also end up deleted when the movie opens in wide North American release on July 10, a source at Universal Studios, which produced the film, told Access Hollywood early Friday.

Angelina Jolie to Front new Armani Fragrance Campaign

Angelina Jolie has just scored herself yet another high-paying gig. She’s just been named the new face of Armani’s new fragrance line.

Angie will be fronting the new campaign for the scent, which is due to come out in stores later this year.

According to reports, Armani wanted a huge A-lister, and who’s more A-list than Angelina Jolie?? That means they must have been anticipating spending a whole lot of money, because Ang definitely doesn’t come cheap!

A fashion industry source tells Life & Style, “Armani rolled up the Brink’s truck for Angelina, because frankly, she’s worth it. For this fragrance push, they needed a true A-lister, and Angelina is the biggest, most dynamic female star in the world.”

The insider says Angelina is very hands-on with the process, saying, “She’s giving a lot of input on that stuff already, picking the photographers and directors. The campaign is going to be bold.”

Everything that woman does turns to gold so we don’t expect anything less than perfection!

Public Enemies review

Here's one of the first reviews of Public Enemies from The Hollywood Reporter:

Michael Mann's John Dillinger movie "Public Enemies" is slow to heat up and never quite comes to a boil. The elements certainly are here with the always charismatic Johnny Depp as the Depression-era bank robber and, in some quarters, idolized Robin Hood. And Marion Cotillard, off her Oscar win, plays his lady friend. But Mann and co-writers Ronan Bennett and Ann Biderman never crack the meaning of John Dillinger.

The film veers between fact and legend, sticking mostly with facts, but still is unable to bring its protagonist into focus as either an amiable sociopath or a true anti-hero. He winds up being just a guy who robs banks, which probably is all he ever was, so why such a lavish production? John Milius accomplished as much if not more with "Dillinger" in 1973 at the cost of probably two scenes from "Public Enemies."

Because there's nothing in the marketplace right now like "Public Enemies," Universal should recoup its costs between the domestic and international boxoffice. But the film lacks the juice promised by the teaming of such extraordinary filmmakers with a cast as large as a Hooverville encampment.

Deepak Chopra's Tribute to Michael Jackson

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Michael Jackson will be remembered, most likely, as a shattered icon, a pop genius who wound up a mutant of fame. That's not who I will remember, however. His mixture of mystery, isolation, indulgence, overwhelming global fame, and personal loneliness was intimately known to me. For twenty years I observed every aspect, and as easy as it was to love Michael -- and to want to protect him -- his sudden death yesterday seemed almost fated. Collapse )

Cameron Diaz "Very Excited" to Work With Tom Cruise Again

Cameron Diaz has nothing but love for her pal Tom Cruise.

When the actress was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, she says it "was great" to see Cruise and wife Katie Holmes gathered with the hundreds of fans to cheer her on.

"I was really happy to see them," Diaz told Usmagazine.com at the NYC premiere of My Sister's Keeper Wednesday. "They were wonderful. It was fantastic. It was so lovely of them to come out and show support. My whole family was there and my friends were there. And I consider them that as well. So it was really wonderful to have them there."

Diaz, who starred with Cruise in 2001's Vanilla Sky, told Us that she will once again appear on screen with the star.

According to Variety, the pair have approved the script for Wichita, a flick about an undercover agent who meets a woman who's had nothing but bad luck with men.

The 36-year-old star told Us she can't wait to start working with Cruise on the movie, which is set for a 2010 release.

"Well, if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t be doing it," she said. "I'm very, very excited about doing it. It's an action film, so I'm really excited to work him."

Yay ♥ Vanilla Sky is one of my favorite movies!

Three More Join 'Valentine's Day'

Topher Grace, Emma Roberts and Hector Elizondo have joined the cast of New Line's romantic comedy Valentine's Day, being directed by Garry Marshall.

The trio joins Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher in the movie, which has five slightly interconnecting stories playing out on Valentine's Day in Los Angeles.

Grace plays a mailroom worker in the town's biggest agency who's dating Hathaway. Roberts -- working for the first time on the same movie as her aunt Julia -- plays a teen who wants to lose her virginity to her boyfriend. Elizondo plays MacLaine's husband.

I would have put a picture up of Hector Elizondo, but he's not really cute. Still waiting to see who they cast as Bradley Cooper's gay football player lover. Chris Evans or Ryan Reynolds is on my wishlist.

On an MJ-related note, the first concert I ever went to was the Michael Jackson "Bad" World Tour in 1988. I was like 7 or 8, and my mom's friend had tickets, so we went with her. My mom had her hands over her ears the whole time because it was too loud. The people in the row in front of us held up this huge sign during the concert that blocked the people in the row behind us. A lady jumped over our row, grabbed the sign, and jumped back to her seat. It was an eventful concert, and a great show. I'm glad I got a chance to see him live, even if my mom made us leave halfway through because it was past my bedtime.

true blood promo photos for 02x03 "scratches"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

HBO has released new promo photos to get us even more excited, like we need any more anticipatory anxiety. I already go through withdrawal as soon as each new episode ends.

I don’t know about you, but I have HBO ‘On Demand’ and can watch the episodes (especially my favorite scenes) NUMEROUS times. Last week I could not help rewatching the scenes with Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Lafayette (Nelson Ellis).

Yes I know I have a more twisted sense of humor than most, but the severed arm throwing, regurgitation burp mixed in with the “Is there any blood in my hair scene” with Eric sporting his highlight foils, was HYSTERICAL. It was Alan Ball’s writing and the dry sense of humor Alexander Skarsgard delivered it with.

I also love the tender scenes between Bill and Sookie (Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin) and the Bill growl at the end of the show, boy did Sookie piss him off last episode. Can’t wait to see how this little family gathering plays out.
Included in the photos for the upcoming episode are, Tara and Eggs (Rutina Wesley and Mehcad Brooks), Jason Stackhouse and Sarah Newlin (Ryan Kwanten and Anna Camp), Steve Newlin (Micheal McMillan), Maryann (Michelle Forbes).

So now I have four more days to look at the new True Blood promo photos for Sundays show, so I figure why not share it with all of you to build your anticipation as well!

Post your theories & favorite gifs!

Molly Ringwald interview about her pregnancy and "Secret Life of the American Teenager"

Every once in a while I get an interview opportunity that comes across my desk that just makes me laugh or smile or get all giggly inside. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy most of the interviews I do but this one just made me smile a big smile of nostalgia. I’m a kid of the 80’s and what did every kid in the 80’s do…watch John Hughes movies or a movie with at least one member of the “Brat Pack” in it. Of course I watched them all…”The Breakfast Club”, “Pretty in Pink”, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, “Sixteen Candles”…the list goes on and on.

So when I got the request for an interview with none other than 80’s teen queen Molly Ringwald, I had to jump at the chance. She’s no longer the teen full of angst trying to find herself while surviving high school. These days she plays Anne Juergens, mother of a pregnant teen trying to make her way through high school while raising a baby of her own. The show is ABC Family’s hit series “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” (Monday’s at 8/7c)

Can you tell us where you are in the filming schedule? How far along is the season, and are you going to have to take some time off for maternity leave or is that going to be filmed?

Michael Jackson's Kids "Doing Fine," With Grandmother

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
After Michael Jackson's sudden passing, the singer's three children "are doing fine," says Brian Oxman, the Jackson family attorney for 20 years.

"They are in the care of a nanny," he tells Usmagazine.com, adding that they're staying with their grandmother, Katherine. "Ms. Jackson will care for them and I'm sure there will be all kinds of discussions that will take place about the kids."

The children – Prince Michael II, 7, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael, 12 - are "just beautiful," Oxman says. "They're well-trained, well educated and extraordinarily talented. They get to play with their cousins and their nieces and their nephews. They are just smarter than smart can be."

Oxmon tells Us Jackson family members are still struggling to cope with the shocking loss.

"They are stunned," Oxman tells Us. "They are barely even able to speak about it."

Oxman was with the family at the hospital (mother Katherine, brothers Randy and Jermaine, and sister LaToya, arrived separately at the hospital for vigil).

"They were silent, they were crying, they weren't really able to say anything," he says. "They just were stunned by this whole experience."

Adds Oxman, "I know that they are now all together."

Michael Jackson's Autopsy Has Begun

The Los Angeles County Coroner has started the autopsy on Michael Jackson.

Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran is performing the autopsy. The Dr. was a star witness in the O.J. Simpson case.

Michael Jackson Doctor -- MIA

We've learned law enforcement is looking for a doctor who lived at Michael Jackson's home -- and the doctor is nowhere to be found.

Law enforcement sources tell us a BMW belonging to the doctor was towed from Jackson's home last night.

Cops are looking to interview the doc.

A law enforcement source says the doctor gave Jackson an injection before he died.

Jackson reportedly may have OD'd on Demerol. As we first reported, family members were concerned that Jackson was taking too much morphine.

Jackson Family -- Demerol Shot Caused Death

A close member of Michael Jackson's family has told us Jackson received a daily injection of a synthetic narcotic similar to morphine -- Demerol -- and yesterday he received a shot at 11:30 AM.

Family members are saying the dosage was "too much" and that's what caused his death.

Jackson Family Feared Morphine OD

Members of Michael Jackson's family told us the singer was given a "heavy dose of morphine" prior to his death, and family members were alarmed.

We're told Joe Jackson recently wanted to put Michael in a rehab facility in Palmdale, California for what he considered an "addiction" to morphine and prescription drugs.

Family members say they felt he was unable to perform for his upcoming concerts because of his drug use.

Members of the upcoming tour tell TMZ Jackson was generally lethargic and very late for rehearsals.

There are reports Jackson OD'd yesterday on Demerol, a drug similar to morphine.

Interestingly, Jackson wrote a song called "Morphine" in 1997. One of the lyrics -- "Demerol. Demerol. Oh God he's taking Demerol."

The Boy with the Yellow Rose Speaks

Harvey Kindlon, the 11-year-old Boy with the Yellow Rose from London, loves singing and acting. He also likes to meet celebrities! We spoke to the poised youngster over the phone to get his side of the crazy Megan Fox story.

So how did you first hear that your picture was making the rounds on the internet?
I was walking to school and some friends came up to me and said "Harvey, you're in the newspaper." And then it was on one of the morning chat shows and I thought to myself, "Wow, this could be really big." I can't believe there's a picture of me and Megan Fox.

Why do you like Megan Fox? Are you a fan of her work, or is it a crush kind of thing?

I just really love celebrities. And I'm basically a big fan of Megan Fox. I like her work.

Tell us about what happened that night.

We'd heard she was in London for the premiere, so we decided to head down there. I picked up the rose on the way.

And when she came by and didn't take your flower, did you feel rejected?
I felt rejected. But I couldn't really tell if she'd done it on purpose. There were so many cameras around. She was moving really fast. Afterwards we ran through the hotel, but she didn't stop. I dropped the rose on the ground and went home.

Jamie Foxx on Snagging Amazing Director Mr. Ron Howard for Cameo and Hosting the BET Awards

Jamie Foxx does a mean impression of President Obama.

"If there's any doubt that America is not the most incredible country in the world," he says, delivering a caricature of the politician. "And look, it's gonna be tough, but we can make it."

Satisfied that he has entertained his interviewer, he breaks character and laughs, explaining how Obama's inauguration served as a casting call of sorts for his popular music video. "So we're at the inauguration and I look over at Ron Howard, and I asked him would he do a music video — and he had no idea what it was for — and he said yes. Then I went to Forest Whitaker and said, 'Well, Ron said he would do it.'

So then Samuel L. Jackson and everyone else just fell through," he says with a laugh. "Ron Howard thought it was some We Are the World video."

Quite the contrary. Blame It encourages listeners to chalk up bad decisions to an overindulgence of alcohol. The song is No. 7 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart and has sold more than 1 million downloads.

Debbie Rowe to get custody of Prince & Paris?

Debbie Rowe is poised to take full custody of the two children she bore for Michael Jackson.

It has been widely reported Debbie Rowe gave up her parental rights to Paris and Michael Jr. That is not true.

During the custody fight that Rowe had with Jackson in 2005, she attempted to give up her parental rights, saying Michael was the greatest father ever. Retired Judge Stephen Lachs, who presided over the hearing, initially ruled her rights were terminated ... but then Lachs reversed his decision.

Here's what happened. We spoke with Lance Spiegel, the lawyer who repped Jackson at the time. Spiegel says under the law, the Department of Children and Family Services must conduct a parental fitness investigation before parental rights are terminated and that didn't happen with Rowe.

So Rowe has never given up any of her parental rights. As a result, under California law, Rowe is now presumed to be the person who will get custody. The only way Rowe can be denied custody is if a court determines it would be "detrimental to the children."

As for whether Rowe will ask for custody .... our sources say you can bet on it. We're told if Rowe gets custody she will get "a huge amount of child support from Jackson's estate."

Thriller - Live Producers Dim Lights for Jackson

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The producers of Michael Jackson tribute show Thriller - Live, currently showing at the West End's Lyric theatre, have released a statement in response to yesterday's news of the death of the pop singer. As a mark of respect, the lights outside the Lyric theatre and Manchester Opera House (where the show is currently on tour) will be dimmed at 7.30pm and a minute's silence held in the auditorium.

The show's writer and executive director Adrian Grant said this morning: “Words cannot express my deep sense of loss and sadness; I am shocked beyond belief that Michael has died. My full condolences go out to his family - his children, parents, brothers and sisters. The Jackson family have lost a son and a father, and the world has lost one of the greatest entertainers of all time, a true legend.”

“Michael Jackson has been a massive influence in my life - inspiring me to get into the entertainment industry and to produce the best work that I can. I have supported Michael for the past 21 years through my magazines, books and now Thriller - Live, and I will continue to support and promote his legacy via this musical celebration.”

Billed as a concert celebration, the show includes Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 chart-toppers such as “I Want You Back”, “I’ll Be There”, “Earth Song”, “Blame It on the Boogie”, “Billie Jean”, “Beat It” and, of course, the title song, “Thriller” from best-selling albums including Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and HIStory.

Directed by Gary Lloyd, with design by Jonathan Park, it recently extended at the Lyric theatre (See News, 28 Apr 2009), where it's currently booking to 3 January 2010.

A press conference is being held at the Lyric this afternoon.

Alex McCord on the Gosselins: Your Relationship Should Be a Priority

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
As Jon and Kate Gosselin go their separate ways, another famous couple are weighing in on how to “stay in love” under the intense spotlight of reality TV.

The Real Housewives of New York’s Alex McCord, 35, and husband of nearly a decade, Simon van Kempen, say that the key to keeping their family together while starring in a TV show is to make your relationship a priority.

“Remember that you [and your husband] were there first,” McCord told PEOPLE at the I Heart Gen Art 15th Anniversary benefit in New York City on Wednesday. “Remember that part of what makes raising your children a successful operation is having a successful relationship. And if you are not happy, I … guarantee you will foist that off on your kids and they will pick up on it.”

McCord and van Kempen, who have two young boys — Johan, 5, and Francois, 3 — also offered some words of advice for other reality TV couples.

“Obsessively communicate,” McCord says. “Tell each other everything — the good, the bad and the ugly. Today, even I [thought to myself], ‘You can either just tell him, or you can sit and let it fester’ — and that’s when you get into trouble. So just come out with it, whatever it is.”

“Look out for your marriage as much as you look out for your kids,” adds van Kempen.

Says McCord: “It’s all well and good to say, ‘We couldn’t keep it together but our kids will be fine.’ But you’re setting an example.”

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Jackson's Best Friend Suspects "Stress" Led to Cardiac Arrest

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Michael Jackson's close friend Uri Geller still can't fathom that the King of Pop has died.

"I'm devastated. I just don't want to believe it," he told Usmagazine.com when reached by phone Thursday evening.

Jackson was best man when Geller renewed his wedding vows in 2001.

Added Geller, "He is my best friend. I just can't believe."

Geller also told Sky News that he believed Jackson to be in fine health.

"He was in good shape. ... I'm not a doctor, but I can only assume he was under immense stresses and pressures, and you can ask any doctor, stress is a killer," he said. "The pressure of these concerts, putting under huge pressures, he was a perfectionist. That could have been what did it. But that's just my opinion."

Jackson was set to headline 50 sold-out shows at London's O2 Arena beginning in July, billed "This Is It" -- his final London performances.

"I think it was a mistake to target 50 shows. 3, 4, 5 maybe 10 shows is enough," said Geller. "He was healthy, aerobically fit. I remember him here in my house, and he wouldn't touch junk food. So now... to confront this devastating reality that Michael is dead is just... I want to wake up tomorrow and think this is a dream and that he is not dead."

Added Geller, "He was a happy man when fans were around - he drank their love. He loved what he did, but somewhere in his deep dark corners of his heart, he was a confused man and a lonely person. The reason was because nobody could understand him.

"He is in heaven now, a better place than us. God rest his soul."

Lisa Marie Presley Blogs About The Death Of Michael Jackson

I thought this was very interesting & sad

From her Myspace

Friday, June 26, 2009

Years ago Michael and I were having a deep conversation about life in general.

I can't recall the exact subject matter but he may have been questioning me about the circumstances of my Fathers Death.

At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, "I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did."

I promptly tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that.

14 years later   I am sitting here watching on the news an ambulance leaves the driveway of his home, the big gates, the crowds outside the gates, the coverage, the crowds outside the hospital, the Cause of death and what may have led up to it and the memory of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears.

A predicted ending by him, by loved ones and by me, but what I didn't predict was how much it was going to hurt when it finally happened.

The person I failed to help is being transferred right now to the LA County Coroners office for his Autopsy.

All of my indifference and detachment that I worked so hard to achieve over the years has just gone into the bowels of hell and right now I am gutted.

I am going to say now what I have never said before because I want the truth out there for once.

Our relationship was not "a sham" as is being reported in the press. It was an unusual relationship yes, where two unusual people who did not live or know a "Normal life" found a connection, perhaps with some suspect timing on his part. Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much.

I wanted to "save him" I wanted to save him from the inevitable which is what has just happened.

His family and his loved ones also wanted to save him from this as well but didn't know how and this was 14 years ago. We all worried that this would be the outcome then.

At that time, In trying to save him, I almost lost myself.

He was an incredibly dynamic force and power that was not to be underestimated.

When he used it for something good, It was the best and when he used it for something bad, It was really, REALLY bad.

Mediocrity was not a concept that would even for a second enter Michael Jackson's being or actions.

I became very ill and emotionally/ spiritually exhausted in my quest to save him from certain self-destructive behavior and from the awful vampires and leeches he would always manage to magnetize around him.

I was in over my head while trying.

I had my children to care for, I had to make a decision.

The hardest decision I have ever had to make, which was to walk away and let his fate have him, even though I desperately loved him and tried to stop or reverse it somehow.

After the Divorce, I spent a few years obsessing about him and what I could have done different, in regret.

Then I spent some angry years at the whole situation.

At some point, I truly became Indifferent, until now.

As I sit here overwhelmed with sadness, reflection and confusion at what was my biggest failure to date, watching on the news almost play by play The exact Scenario I saw happen on August 16th, 1977 happening again right now with Michael (A sight I never wanted to see again) just as he predicted, I am truly, truly gutted.

Any ill experience or words I have felt towards him in the past has just died inside of me along with him.

He was an amazing person and I am lucky to have gotten as close to him as I did and to have had the many experiences and years that we had together.

I desperately hope that he can be relieved from his pain, pressure and turmoil now.

He deserves to be free from all of that and I hope he is in a better place or will be.

I also hope that anyone else who feels they have failed to help him can be set free because he hopefully finally is.

The World is in shock but somehow he knew exactly how his fate would be played out some day more than anyone else knew, and he was right.

I really needed to say this right now, thanks for listening.

The event of Michael Jackson’s death is so shocking; it left Elizabeth Taylor with a health scare of her own.

It is being reported that after hearing the news of her longtime friend’s death, the legendary actress - who coined the phrase “King of Pop” - collapsed in her Hollywood home.

According to In Touch magazine, Taylor was hurrying to get to the hospital to be by Jackson’s bedside when she was told of his passing.

A representative for Taylor claimed the Oscar winner was “too devastated” to comment on the superstar’s death in the hours following the shocking news.

Chris & Rihanna trying to be friends?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Chris Brown is under court orders not to go within 50 yards of Rihanna, but both he and his ex want to get rid of the strict no-contact clause.

“They think it’s unnecessary and ridiculous,”
says a mutual pal of the protection order handed down at Tuesday’s criminal proceeding, during which Brown pled guilty to one count of felony assault in the February attack that left Rihanna battered and bruised.

“After [the proceeding], Ri and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends. They’re solid now.” Solid, but still unable to speak to one another in public. At the very least, they’ll be able to get a little closer to one another at this Sunday’s BET Awards in L.A., which both stars are set to attend.

The order of protection gives Brown a little leeway at music-industry events, stipulating that he cannot come within 10 yards of the Bajan beauty. But as much as Rihanna and Chris may want to bury the hatchet, their friend is quick to dismiss a renewed romance.

“That’s 100% done,” says the pal. “They aren’t looking to hook back up again. They’re both moving on and going their separate ways.” Brown is currently in the studio. The “No Air” crooner is working on his comeback album, which will reportedly feature duets with Mary J. Blige and Keri Hilson.

We hear the disc will also include a song called “Not My Fault,” about a female “singer” who got “caught up.” We wonder who that could be. Rihanna is also back to work on new music, but seems to be finding more time for play than her ex.

While Brown focuses on his career and repairing his image, Rihanna has recently attended a handful of premieres like “Year One,” enjoyed play dates with pals Aubrey (Drake) Graham, LeBron James and Kanye West, and gone clubbing at Jay-Z’s 40/40. In addition, CoverGirl seems to have made peace with Rihanna and is releasing a three-month-old ad campaign featuring the singer as its spokeswoman.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor releases statement on MJ.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor is expressing her grief over the death of her dear friend Michael Jackson in a heartbreaking new statement.

"My heart ... my mind ... are broken. I loved Michael with all my soul and I can't imagine life without him. We had so much in common and we had such loving fun together. I was packing up my clothes to go to London for his opening when I heard the news. I still can't believe it. I don't want to believe it. It can't be so. He will live in my heart forever but it's not enough. My life feels so empty. I don't think anyone knew how much we loved each other. The purest most giving love I've ever known. Oh God! I'm going to miss him. I can't yet imagine life without him. But I guess with God's help ... I'll learn. I keep looking at the photo he gave me of himself, which says, 'To my true love Elizabeth, I love you forever.' And, I will love HIM forever," Dame Elizabeth tells ET.

Another Emm-- no uh, someone else gets a turn at the photoshoot thing

The Evening Standard did an in-depth interview with Bonnie Wright that also includes a sweet photoshoot shot by Nicole Nodland!

According to Bonnie Wright, there is one golden rule for survival on the Harry Potter set. In a banqueting scene, you must never be filmed actually eating,' she says very seriously.

Otherwise you'll have to keep on for the sake of continuity. The food gets cold and stale, and you start to feel really sick.' (Especially if the director is David Yates, notorious for his numerous retakes.) You have to make sure the spoon only goes as far as your lips.'

Bonnie has learned such tricks the hard way, having joined the cast to play Ginny Weasley, Ron's little sister, when she was a mere nine years old and had no acting experience whatsoever, barring roles in school plays.

Over the past nine years, she has seen her role expand from infant sidekick to leading lady. In the forthcoming film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, she and Harry fall for one another, and their relationship proves more durable than his earlier ill-fated fling with Cho Chang.

In fact, as anyone who's read the final book will know (spoiler alert!), Ginny and Harry end up happily married with their own family. They've been discussing how they're going to do that,' she says gleefully. We might be aged with latex wrinkles…'

She'll certainly need them: in the flesh, she looks absurdly youthful, far younger than her 18 years. As she sidles into Shoreditch House, I half expect a kindly waiter to direct her to the crèche on the floor below.

Bonnie is small and willowy, dressed in jeans and unmade-up apart from a dab of mascara. Even the trademark auburn mane is a toned-down shade of ginger biscuit in real life.

They put highlights in it to bring out the red,' she explains. So although she's reached her majority, it somehow seems slightly wrong that she and the equally baby-faced Daniel Radcliffe have been hard at it putting the snog into Hogwarts.

Virtuality hopes for a real life

he TV movie Virtuality, airing tonight at 8 on Fox and Citytv, is "virtually" a back-door pilot – a play not only on its title and premise, but also the fact that, though clearly intended as the launch of a series, it is likely to begin and end with itself.

We'll start with the contextual, and move on to the situational, though it is important to first note that the whole thing centers on science-fiction "virtuoso" writer/producer Ronald D. Moore, a man who achieved the seemingly impossible by turning the '70s relic Battlestar Galactica into one of the most thoughtful and provocative dramas on television.

Perhaps even more significantly, Moore is rightly credited with adding a much-needed edge to the Star Trek TV franchise on Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.

Thus it is only natural to associate Virtuality's virtual reality setting with Star Trek's well-worn "holodeck" concept.

"It's a different concept," Moore insists. "The holodeck is a physical space that you would go into, and three-dimensional forms were actually physically created in front of you that you could feel and touch and interact with, etc. The computer would generate them as long as you were in them.

"This is truly a virtual space, which is much more akin to putting on contemporary, sort of virtual headsets, but taking it to the next level, where you do have an experiential sort of ability to touch and sense and taste and smell things in your mind, so it's different on the mechanical level.

"It's more like how gaming is now. You go online. You play a game and you get killed, and you're kicked out of the program because you're dead, but you're not dead in real life."

If anything, the premise of Virtuality bears a close, if unintentional, resemblance – possible retroactive spoiler here – to the surprise twist ending of the Americanized Life on Mars, in which its erstwhile 1970s setting was revealed to be the computer-generated fantasy of a Mars-bound astronaut, placed in hibernation for the long-term deep-space mission. Virtuality's team of astronauts find themselves in very similar circumstances. "They go in there and they do things for entertainment and to sort of pass the time of day while they're on this very, very long-range mission," Moore explains. "But you're learning things about them personally and about where did they want to spend their time, and when things go wrong in that space, how does it then influence them ... that was the thing I was most interested in."

Clearly. A large part of Moore's new Battlestar prequel series, Caprica (the pilot movie is already on DVD, with the series expected to arrive on Space sometime next year), also has to do with an internal virtual world – in that case, leading up to the invention and eventual insurrection of the mechanical megalomaniac Cylons.

But here the similarities end, particularly to the vastly more dour and downbeat Battlestar Galactica saga.

"Here you've got a group of 12 people stuck in a metal tube going in a straight line for a decade or so, and that's going to just sort of produce a lot of tensions and frictions and manipulations and cross-problems between the characters," Moore allows.

But Virtuality "has a stronger element of fun and suspense and interesting plot in terms of what characters will do with one another. Battlestar was very driven by the internal pressures of the huge weight that was on all of their shoulders from the beginning.

"There's more humour probably in the first 10 minutes of Virtuality than there was in the entire run of Battlestar."

How "virtual" the telefilm's chances are of going to series still remain to be seen, he insists.

"It's a pilot for a series and Fox is going to broadcast it as a two-hour movie. But in my mind it's a pilot.

"They haven't picked it up to date. Their attitude, I think, is kind of wait and see. I think they want to see what the reaction is going to be. What are the critics going to say? Is there going to be a certain buzz and excitement?

"I think right now it doesn't look like it's going to series, but I think if enough people watched and enough people got excited about it, anything is possible. Never say never."

Dancing inmates to perform 'Thriller' tribute for Jackson

THRILLER Pictures, Images and Photos

MANILA, Philippines - On Saturday afternoon, more than 1,400 orange-clad Cebu inmates who gained worldwide attention for an impressive “Thriller" performance on YouTube will pay their last respects to the late King of Pop.

“Everyone’s sad," Byron Garcia, provincial security consultant of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), told GMANews.TV in a phone interview.

Malaki talaga si Michael Jackson sa programa namin. [Michael Jackson really played a big part in our program]," Garcia said.

Ever since the "dancing inmates" were reported by international news organizations, Garcia said inquisitive tourists have been drawn to the CPDRC. Visitors have even gained a more optimistic perspective of Philippine prisoners.

'Lost' star finds hellish 'Supernatural' gig

Mark Pellegrino's career is on fire. Literally.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the actor -- who was unmasked as Lost's enigmatic Jacob at the end of last season -- is joining the cast of Supernatural as none other than the Prince of Darkness himself, Lucifer.

Lucifer was released from hell in Supe's season finale last month, although we never caught a glimpse of the little devil's face. All of that will change when Pellegrino (also known for his role as Rita's rather satanic ex on Dexter) debuts in the show's Sept. 10 season premiere.

So, does this mean we've seen the last of Jacob on Lost? An ABC rep couldn't be reached for comment, but here's a potential clue: Pellegrino isn't joining Supernatural as a full-time series regular; his status is listed as recurring. You do the math.

Thoughts on this red-hot piece of casting? Sound off below!

I am weirdly obsessed with Jacob already (needs moar fic), so yay. Hope he's back on the show, at least a bit.

Major Lazer working w/Christina Aguilera too!

Your profile as a producer has exploded since you worked on M.I.A’s second album Kala – has it been non-stop since?

Yeah, totally. There’s some real exciting projects on at the moment and it’s great that people’s tastes are changing and that mainstream artists are looking at doing something more creative or edgy that really ties in to what people like Wes and myself and [Santigold’s co-writer] John Hill are doing. It’s cool to be asked to spend a week with artists like Christina Aguilera and for them to be really open and trust us.

So you’ve been collaborating with Christina?

Yeah her and a few other people too, but I won’t say who just in case it’s not happening.

An 'Antichrist' of a Video Game

What does Willem Dafoe's junk, a talking fox, and a dead child all have in common? Well, they're going to star in a video game adaptation of Lars von Trier's Antichrist courtesy of Morten Iversen, a developer with some serious credentials in the world of game geekery. Formerly of Io Interactive, Iversen now works at von Trier's Zentropa production company.

Russ Frushtick over at MTV Multiplayer tracked down Iversen to ask him what the hell is up with this project, so to speak, and here's what he had to say.

"Von Trier has been extremely fond of video games for ages, and has been an avid player of 'Alone in the Dark,'" explained Iverson. "He's been circulating the idea internally... that making games would be a good idea." He describes it as "a nightmarish version of 'Myst.'"

Battlestar Galactica Actress Dies

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Vancouver General Hospital's Palliative Care Unit. She will be greatly missed.

Jackson Family Will Fight Rowe Tooth and Nail

Michael Jackson's family will wage an epic battle to make sure Paris and Michael Jr. do not end up in the custody of one Debbie Rowe -- this according to family members who spoke with TMZ.

The family is currently gathered together and they are reacting to our story this morning that Rowe never legally gave up her custody rights. Under California law, Rowe is in a position to get custody of her biological kids if she wants them, provided it would not be detrimental to the children.

The family complained to us the kids don't even know Debbie Rowe -- she hasn't been a part of their lives. They say the kids must remain "within the family."

Because people really want to see this

In her new movie, I Love You, Beth Cooper (in theaters July 10), Ms. Panettiere stars as the most popular girl in high school who is the object of the school nerd's affection. In one scene, with her back to the camera, she drops her towel in the locker room to impress her geeky suitor, played by Paul Rust.

So just how naked was she? Read on to find out...

"I was really naked," the 18-year-old starlet tells me. "I had these little sticky petals on my boobs, but that was about it. My dad calls me such an exhibitionist. He always says, 'God, even when you were little, you were such an exhibitionist!' "

Even so, Panettiere has no plans to go frontal for the cameras...yet.

"I'm cool with my body, and I'm cool running around undressed and all that stuff, but there are just certain things that not everyone needs to know, that you need to keep somehow private and personal to you," she said. Liza Minnelli on Jackson Autopsy Results: 'All Hell's Going to Break Loose'

Michael Jackson's good friend Liza Minnelli told CBS's "The Early Show" today that she believes the late singer's autopsy results are going to cause quite a stir.

"All of us who knew him well really know what he was like," she said. "And I'm sure that now the accolades are going, and I'm sure when the autopsy comes, all hell's going to break loose. So, thank God we're celebrating him now."
She went on to say how devastated she is for the loss of her good friend.

"He was just a really splendid man," she said. "And a brilliant performer who changed theatrical history. And I will miss him, I cannot tell you."
