Emma Watson swamped by suitors + new photoshoot

EMMA WATSON had her pick of the boys at the Baftas last night, but ended up getting cosy with Stormbreaker star Alex Pettyfer.

The Harry Potter actress spent the night fending off attention from a host of British boy actors at the Soho House Grey Goose after-party at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Our spy said: "Emma was mingling and chatting to friends, but there was a constant stream of guys swamping her as she moved between the 15 party suites.

"First, she did a round of one room with her ex-Harry Potter co-star Robert Pattinson. But while Rob seemed keen to whisk Emma off into a private bit of Harvey Weinstein's party, it seemed Emma was in too high demand.

"She was cornered by Keira Knightley's ex, Jamie Dornan, before her attentions were poached by Nicholas Hoult. She enjoyed the attention, but deflected all their advances and headed off early." Ouch!

But it looks like the 18-year-old finally settled on one fella at movie mogul Weinstein's after-after party at the Double Club in Angel.

Our spy continued: "Emma was getting very cosy with Alex. He was trying his hardest to impress her.

After dancing for a bit, they sat away from their pals to swap numbers and seemed keen to get to know each other a little better. They were still animatedly chatting at 4am."

Katie Nicholl & The Daily Mail are reporting the Alex & RPattz bit:
Kate gets the Bafta but Emma gets all the attention!

Emma Watson stayed out way past her bedtime!

The Harry Potter star was quite the centre of attention and upcoming actor Alex Pettyfer couldn't take his eyes off her.

Emma who was also dancing with Rob Pattinson wont have much time for all her male admirers. She has just won a place at Cambridge University. If accepts she'll be in good celebrity company as Lily Cole is a fellow undergraduate.

but The Telegraph is saying this:

Meanwhile, off screen Watson was not short of male attention at the Grey Goose afterparty at the Grosvenor House Hotel and spent much of the evening in the company of Jamie Dornan, a model who used to date Keira Knightley.

I know what team Chyler Leigh is on....

Sounds like someone's watched one too many episodes of FriendsGrey's Anatomy star Chyler Leigh, who has two children with Nathan West, tells The Insider that their baby girl will be dubbed "Aniston" when she arrives in May.

Okay, Chyler, come May, we expect you to stick to your baby-naming intentions, joke or no joke!

Despite her light-hearted attitude, Chyler has had a tough life, and isn't shy opening up about her story. By 17 she was addicted to any drug she could get her hands on, but today marks her seventh year sober.

"It was a combination of everything," she says. "It was a pupu platter of drugs, whatever we could do. I just hit that point of searching for something, anything that would make everything go away and make me numb. It was a deadly combination."

For Aniston's sake, we're glad she's got her life back on track.

Rupert Grint takes gritty turn in 'Cherrybomb'

BERLIN -- Forget quidditch. Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the "Harry Potter" franchise, has moved on to more grown-up pastimes. In "Cherrybomb," which had its world premiere here Sunday in the Generation sidebar, Grint plays a youth dabbling in drugs, joy-riding and the thrills of teenage sex. A far cry from the innocent excitement of Hogwarts, but an inevitable transition for the 20-year-old actor.

"It was always is going to be quite tricky. 'Harry Potter's' a big thing really, so I've always known it's going to be pretty hard," Grint said. "But doing this film wasn't really a conscious decision to try something different -- it just worked out like that. I got the script, really liked and it all happened in a couple of weeks."

Grint will start shooting this month on the final book of the seven in the "Harry Potter" series, which is being made as two films at Leavesden Studios in Watford. "Fourteen months for Part 1 and Part 2, more or less back-to-back. It's going to be long, but it's going to be good I think, I really liked the book and the script," he said. "It's going to be quite a thing when it's over because it'll be half my life exactly. I think I will miss it, because I've had some good times on it.

Directed by Lisa Barros D'Sa and Glenn Leyburn, "Cherrybomb" is set in contemporary Northern Ireland and co-stars Kimberley Nixon and Robert Sheehan in a tale of youthful high jinks and misdeeds that, inevitably, ends badly. James Nesbit also co-stars.

Grint joined Nixon to meet the media Monday and talk up the film, which required them to act a fairly frank sex scene. (Grint gets his shirt off but does not go full frontal as "Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe did in the stage play "Equus.")

"The hardest bit for both of us was the love scene," Grint admitted. "It was toward the end of the shoot so we knew this day was coming, but the crew were so supportive, they made us feel so comfortable, we just got on with our jobs," Nixon said.

Grint's presence at the premiere certainly pulled the spotlight onto the film, with a large crowd outside the Babylon theater to greet him.

"It was lovely, because I wasn't expecting it at all. It's good that everyone's excited about the film. I do get recognized pretty much everywhere now, but everyone's really nice and it's not a problem," Grint said.</div></div></div>

Grammys burning questions answered!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

EW.com talked to Jack Sussman, CBS' exec VP of specials and live events, about the last-minute cancellation by Rihanna and Chris Brown, what was up with Justin Timberlake and Al Green, whether the show was ready in case M.I.A. gave birth on stage, and more. Here's the scoop.

When did you learn that Rihanna and Chris Brown weren’t going to make it?
The Grammy production team was knee deep in rehearsals at the Staples Center when they first got the call between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Sunday about the no-shows (Rihanna was supposed to immediately follow U2 with a medley of "Disturbia" and "Live Your Life" while Brown was going to sing "Forever" before Kid Rock's performance). "Beyond thinking, I hope they’re okay, it immediately goes out of your mind because you’re too busy thinking about what to do next," says Sussman. Justin Timberlake had just finished rehearsing his duet with T.I. when the team approached him in his dressing room about filling Rihanna's spot with a brand new act. “Justin’s first words were, 'what can I do to help?’” recalls Sussman. “That’s what you want to hear.” It was Timberlake’s idea to perform with Al Green, since the two Memphis natives had once performed "Let’s Stay Together" -- and Green was already in town to present an award with Duffy. The veteran crooner was literally in his hotel bathtub when he got the call to rush to rehearsals, where he and Timberlake had less than two hours to prepare (Brown’s performance was not replaced).

Was it true you had a gurney waiting on the side of the stage while M.I.A., who is set to give birth any day now, was performing?
“She went into contractions when the show went on the air and she was not supposed to go on until act 8!” says Sussman. “I asked her to just hang on until 10 ET. The kid’s a gamer...and by the way, the gurney is always there. Every once in a while, someone falls.” (!!!)

Why didn’t Whitney Houston perform?
“We only talked about her being a presenter,” says Sussman.

Did we hear Kanye West correctly? Did Bob Newhart win a Grammy for best new artist?
Yes, the running tally is: Newhart, one Best New Artist Grammy, Kanye West, none. Newhart won for "The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart" in 1960. West has won several Grammys, including Best Rap Album, but never Best New Artist.

Why so much rap and country in the show?
“I called it my musical sardine can,” says Sussman. “You want to make the show embraceable for lots of people, not just niche audiences. We’re a broadcast network TV show, not a narrow-cast cable music show.”

Did you cut categories to make room for more music? For instance, Katy Perry performed "I Kissed a Girl" but her category -- Best Female Pop Vocal Performance -- didn’t air.
"Every year it’s different," Sussman said. "Outside of the four or five major awards, the other awards change every year. And performing is better than actually having your category on air. People won’t remember who won best R&B album, but they will remember Jennifer Hudson’s performance.”

Was there an unprecedented number of acts?
Yes, says Sussman -- 24 in total!

There's a rumor on the internets that M.I.A. went into labor TODAY.

First glimpse of Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers in Edgar Wright's SCOTT PILGRIM!

"Edgar Wright's been teasing us with a photo a day on his MySpace page. We've seen everything from snow to medicine and now we get a little Ramona. If there was any doubt that Ms. Winstead was perfect for the role, I think you unfaithful might need to make some amends. Look at the eyes! Cute cute cute!"

what say you, denizens?

Not only annoying but also CREEPY AS FUCK.

While bigger stars will look right past Ryan Seacrest and pretend he doesn't exist (true story!), leave it to the always annoyingly campy Katy Perry to have props in her purse specifically for a pre-red carpet Ryan gab fest. She probably brain stormed a bunch of skits and practiced in front of the mirror before leaving her house.

After a snarky introduction, Katy baited him with: "Don't you want to know what's in my purse?" While Ryan played coy and pretended to not be interested in such things, he finally said sure, why not, and was greeted with two cut strands of hair -- one from Miley Cyrus, and another from Taylor Swift. Get it? Like she's doing voodoo witchcraft on her tween competition!

Wow, this girl is just so crafty! We imagine she sits at home with her cats, glitter and glue gun and makes really terrible paper-mâché, trinkets and earrings out of condom wrappers or something. She just seems like that type.

10 Reasons Why House Isn't Good Anymore

Last season wasn't without its problems, it took some hits for trying to add in so many wannabe House's and for killing CTB (or Amber, if you must) but at least they were trying something a little bit out there... and the cases were cool. House trying to save a woman at the North Pole? Cool. Parasites? Always awesome. Overdose caused be something as stupid as tonic water? Brilliant. But aside from Breckin Meyer seeing people like Picassos, there haven't been any super memorable cases.

So after 100 episodes, we've got to wonder, is this procedural getting to be a little too procedural? And for the love of god, will they ever remember whose name is in the title of the show? Here are 10 reasons why we're disappointed by "House" this season:

The world of FMX lost a true hero last night; Jeremy Lusk

Freestyle motocross star Jeremy Lusk died early in the morning EST on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from head injuries he suffered at an event in Costa Rica on Saturday, Feb. 7. Lusk sustained the injuries when he under-rotated a Hart Attack backflip and slammed head-first to the dirt. Like the fighter he was, Jeremy -- nicknamed Pitbull for his tenacious attitude and great strength -- survived an initial surgery late in the evening on Saturday that was designed to stem brain swelling, even though his odds of living through the surgery were very long. But his condition -- touch and go from the moment he went down -- worsened late in the day on Monday.

Some may remember that he crashed in almost identical fashion in the Freestyle semifinals at X Games '07: He under-rotated a Hart Attack backflip but somehow walked away from that scary slam. In March '08, while preparing for April's Moto X World Championships, Lusk said that he didn't throw the Hart Attack backflip for months after his X Games crash. "I was a little scared of it," he stated.

Lusk enjoyed an incredibly successful 2008 season. He earned Freestyle gold at X Games '08 and added Best Trick silver when he landed the first double grab Hart Attack backflip; it was the first time he had even attempted the trick to dirt. He also scored a bronze helmet in Freestyle at the Moto X World Championships, won both Freestyle and Best Trick at September '08's X Games Mexico and finished third overall in Freestyle on the '08 Dew Tour.

The San Diego native was 24 and married to Lauren, his high-school sweetheart.

The following was posted at http://prayforjeremylusk.blogspot.com, which had been tracking Lusk's condition:

It is with great sadness that we report Jeremy Lusk succumbed to his injures tonight at 11:03pm PST. He was surrounded by his loving Mother and father, Chuck & Gina Lusk, his wonderful wife Lauren, his mother and father in law Lyne & Larry along with his closest Mulisha friends Brian Deegan, Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele & Erik Apple. He is now with our Heavenly Father and is at peace. We know he is performing sick tricks for all those in Heaven to crowds greater than we have ever seen. We will miss you Pitbull!

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

We will provide further updates on arrangements when we get them.

R.I.P. Jeremy. :(((

Eliza Dushku blogs about her new show Dollhouse

Hey MySpace
Monday, February 09, 2009
Current mood: excited

Hi MySpace friends! I just started my first MySpace page and am so excited about it! I can’t wait to update you all on what I have been up to lately. My new show “Dollhouse” is going to premiere on FOX on Friday the 13th. If you are a fan of Joss Whedon or want to see me seriously kicking some butt then you definitely will enjoy it. The show is based on an underground organization, “the dollhouse,” which hires out operatives, wipes their memories clean and then imprints them with a new personality. I play Echo “a doll” who slowly begins realizing what is going on as the series progresses. It is a really cool concept and there are so many twists and turns. I think you will love it!

I also just got back from the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. It was a blast. I managed to catch a few films and snowboarded with my friends. We had so much fun! I was really excited to see my friend Ondi Timoner’s documentary “We Live in Public” which was amazing! Next week I am on my way to New York to promote “Dollhouse,” and then I am off to Phoenix for the NBA All Star game where I will be shooting hoops for charity. I am pretty psyched about both trips. I will let you know how they go once I get back.

George Clooney in secret romance with niece of Benazir Bhutto

George Clooney’s latest romance isn’t with some cocktail waitress, stripper, or whichever actress happens to be lucky or unfortunate enough (depending on your perspective) to live on the same block or star in a movie with him. According to The National Enquirer, he’s romancing a highly educated well connected woman from Afghanistan who works as a poet and journalist. 26 year-old Fatima Bhutto, the niece of assassinated Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, is said to be the object of Clooney’s affections, and he’s also said to be uncharacteristically serious about her, especially considering how smart and independent she is:

Although [Clooney] has been able to keep the relationship under wraps, in private he is gushing to pals about the raven-haired Fatima, say insiders.

“He’s still out there with his usual assortment of Hollywood eye-candy hanging from his arm,” a source told The Enquirer.

“But George insists those days could be coming to an end if Fatima wants to take their relationship to the next level and spend some serious time with him in the U.S.”

George and Fatima - who lives with her stepmother and half brother in a plush suburb of Karachi - met at an international conference last year.

George quickly fell for her, revealed the source. “Fatima was educated at Columbia University… and knew of his heartthrob rep, but she didn’t take his advances seriously because she thought their age difference - not to mention where they each lived - would make a serious relationship impractical.

“But George has courted her by phone and e-mail and arranged to meet her abroad when their schedules allowed it. Now he wants her to spend time with him in Hollywood.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, February 16, 2008]

Yes, right, his Playboy days are coming to an end, sure. Bhutto works as a journalist in Pakistan and there’s little chance she would move to America to be Clooney’s girlfriend. If this woman ever expressed a desire to be more available to him, Clooney would probably bail. He did last a while with Sarah Larson but she was completely unchallenging and it’s doubtful that their relationship would have gone anywhere if it wasn’t for that motorcycle accident they suffered together early on. Clooney is an unapologetic bachelor and falling for a lovely accomplished woman who necessarily lives far from him is just another way he’ll ensure he remains single for the foreseeable future.

Pixie Geldof is covergirl for Italian Vogue

Photographed by Steven Meisel, the 18-year-old daughter of Sir Bob Geldof, who is signed to London's Select Models agency, is shown with heavily-kohled, faraway eyes alongside a banner headline reading: "So young so cool."

She wears a jewelled bustier dress by Blumarine, a cross and black lace mittens.

Inside the magazine, Pixie and her best-friend, Daisy Lowe, 20, the daughter of Pearl Lowe and Danny Goffey, of SuperGrass, feature in a 14-page editorial, photographed by Meisel.

Could Pixie's covergirl role signal the rebirth of a Cool Brittania fashion sequel, which gathered steam when Meisel photographed the likes of Stella Tennant, the aristocratic Scottish model with a ring in her nose, back in the early '90s?

Some months ago, Meisel photographed Pixie and Daisy, who is also with Select, for the current Pringle campaign, and was so taken with them he booked them for the Italian job.

Pixie made her covergirl debut for Tatler last year when she was 17, just over a quarter of a century after her mother, Paula Yates, was on the cover in 1982, the year she became a presenter of The Tube, the Channel 4 music show. (Yates died in 2000 from an accidental heroin overdose).

Pixie and Daisy are just two of the new wave of the Select agency's Brit-It girls, suddenly in huge demand on both sides of the Atlantic, along with the 'wild child' Alice Dellal and Eliza Cummings, who have each scored a cover in the special 12-cover edition of iD Magazine's March issue, and Portia Freeman, originally from Weybridge, who has been working with Meisel in New York.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie find children 'running amok' in hotel after Baftas

Brad Pitt and his wife Angelina Jolie returned to their London hotel from the Bafta awards to find four of their children running amok, it has been claimed.

The Hollywood couple went back to London's Dorchester hotel on Park Lane on Sunday night to find that other guests had complained about the noise, according to The Sun.

Their children Maddox, seven, five-year-old Pax, Zahara, three and two-year-old Shiloh allegedly ran up and down the corridors for more than an hour outside the family's suite while under the supervision of a nanny.

Pitt, 45, had been nominated in the best actor category at the Baftas for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button while Jolie, 33, was in the running for best actress for Changeling.

The couple, who both missed out on awards, had earlier tried to keep a low profile at the Dorchester by shunning its Michelin-starred restaurants and opting for a curry nearby instead.

They went to the Noor Jahan, an Indian restaurant in South Kensington, where diners can expect to pay just £20 a head. Shauyab Ahmed, part-owner of the restaurant, said: "They booked a table for 12 at 7.30pm and were a bit late arriving, but that was OK.

"The other customers loved it and were very happy to see them."

They were joined by former supermodel Claudia Schiffer and her film director husband Matthew Vaughn, as well as actor Robert Downey Junior.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Dave Gibbons artist of the WATCHMEN!

For those unfortunate folks who aren’t familiar with your work, how would you personally describe your art style?

That’s so difficult. I mean, how would you describe yourself? I think the things I always like in art are clarity and economy and I think those probably are the qualities that I admire and I think I try and bring to my own work. I like the kind of artwork that’s had a lot of work put into it, but it doesn’t necessarily show. And I think the purpose of comic art is to take you through the story and not draw attention to itself. So I’ve always tried to tailor my art to do that.

That actually seems like the most important thing to focus on.
Now for your origin story – how did you get started in comics?

[Laughs] This is a long one. It goes back to being a fan. I mean, I remember getting my first Superman comic when I was 7 and being absolutely in love with it. And from that point on, copying out of comics and making up my own characters and drawing cartoons when I was at school to amuse my schoolmates. Then contributing to fanzines and underground comics and then breaking into professional comics – first of all through doing balloon lettering. I used to work in London just down the road from the biggest publishers in the UK and I used to hang out there at lunch times and look over people’s shoulders and see how everything was done. Eventually I got some lettering work and then that led on to doing comic strip art and then I got an agent and he fixed me up with some rather anonymous work. But work where I sort of learned my craft. And then I suppose I really came to prominence with the launch of [British comics publisher] 2000 A.D. in the mid ’70s. That’s it in a nutshell.

50 Cent Wants An Explanation For Lil Wayne's Dis Track

With all the hype around 50 Cent vs. Rick Ross, Fif's blatant baiting of Lil Wayne has gotten lost in the mix. Maybe 50 will let any issues he has with Weezy die completely — that is, if Mr. Grammy Awards 2009 clears things up.

"I didn't say he was next," 50 said about his tirade against Wayne at the end of "Officer Ricky," a track primarily dissing Ross. 50 said he merely wants Wayne to explain a record called "Louisianimal," on which Weezy throws a couple of light jabs at the G-Unit general.

"He didn't create clarity for the public," 50 insisted. "If you don't do that and say something disrespectful that's for the public, I gotta do something to address it. He had material come out. I don't know if it was leaked or not.

"It's been so long since I was saying anything about Lil Wayne," 50 added, admitting he started with Wayne last year. "I gave him an award. At the BET Awards, I handed him a trophy. So when [his dis record] comes out, I say, 'Let me say something that makes him create clarity for the public.' If it's an issue, let's deal with the actual issue. If not, let it go."

During a recent interview in Venezuela, 50 Cent did some clearing up of his own. Remember that record "Play This on the Radio"? Fif's first dis record directed at Lil Wayne? Well, everyone in the streets was talking about how 50 might have been going after Kanye West with the opening line: "First they say, 'That f----t hot.' " Fif didn't do a very good job dismissing the innuendo when he interviewed with DJ Whoo Kid in the aftermath and jokingly questioned Kanye's sexuality.

Well, Fif told us he wasn't dissing 'Ye on the song and he has no issues with West.

"I never said Kanye's name," 50 told us with a grin. "I actually don't believe Kanye West is gay. He might be sensitive. Trying — try-sexual. But I know he's not gay."

Eight arrested in Michael Phelps case (VIDEO ADDED)

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - New details have emerged about a party where Olympic champion Michael Phelps was spotted.

On Feb. 2, a British tabloid published a picture of the 14-time Olympic gold medalist using a water pipe to smoke marijuana. The picture was taken at a party in Columbia back in November when Phelps was here for a visit.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department has been taking a lot of heat from people in this country and all over the world.

They want to know why Sheriff Leon Lott is going after Michael Phelps.

Many are saying the sheriff should concentrate on more serious crimes, or at the very least, not focus solely on the Olympic champion when there were others at the party who were also breaking the law.

Now it appears the case has expanded beyond Phelps' activities.

The party took place in November at a house on Blossom Street near Five Points.

It was at that house where someone snapped the photo of Phelps taking a hit on a marijuana pipe called a bong.

Lott says the picture indicated a law was being broken in his jurisdiction. He said he couldn't ignore the violation just because Phelps is rich and famous.

We've now learned that since investigators began trying to build a case, they've made eight arrests: seven for drug possession and one for distribution. These are arrests that resulted as the sheriff's department served search warrants.

We've also learned that the department has located and confiscated that bong.

Sources say the owner of the bong was trying to sell it on eBay for as much as $100,000.

The owner, who wasn't even at the party, is one of the eight now charged.

Phelps is not one of those charged at this point, but the sheriff's department has strong evidence that matches the photo to the house on Blossom Street.

That house is in the city, but the Columbia Police Department decided not to initiate or take an active role in the investigation.

Governor Mark Sanford is also weighing in on the sheriff's actions.

On the FOX News Channel Sunday night, Geraldo Rivera asked Sanford whether Phelps should be prosecuted.

"I don't see what it gets at this point," said Sanford.

His spokesman told us Monday night Sanford is letting that quote stand.

Everyone loves FREE (legal) music right?

So The Damnwells may not be as well known as some, but they should be. After all, they're the band Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson were out to see the night they were "found out". They've had an Award Winning documentary made about them, and you may have seen them on tour with The Fray or Augustana a few years ago (or Cheap Trick or Bob Dylan for the older crowd). They also supplied half the soundtrack for the Ryan Reynolds movie "Chaos Theory" that came out last year, and the woman who sings backup vocals was in "Groundhog Day" (and more recently has filmed parts for "Still Waiting" & "500 Days of Summer").

Anyway, The Damnwells released a new album today "One Last Century" and they're giving it away FREE (and legally) with the help of Paste Magazine. You can download it at www.pastemagazine.com/thedamnwells. No "pay what you want" a la Radiohead; just straight up FREE. All they ask of you is your email prior to giving you the download link. With your email they'll sign you up for the Band's mailing list, as well as the magazines. You can always opt out of these later if you wish to.

Jared Padalecki Resurrects a Killer Classic

Jared Padalecki has confronted plenty of strange creatures playing Sam Winchester on the hit CW series Supernatural, but now he's facing up to one on the big screen.

In the remake of the horror classic Friday the 13th, Padalecki goes head to head with one of Hollywood's most recognizable villains, Jason Voorhees. And talking to him about his on-screen encounters with evil-doers, the lead role in the updated horror flick was a perfect fit.

Elizabeth Mitchell: The Lost Interview & sneak peaks

Lost’s seductive doctor diagnoses her character’s blood lust, blossoming affair with Sawyer—and her singing duel with Ben.

Your storyline is ramping up—you had a nosebleed caused by all of the flashbacks and flash-forwards. The island is hopping through time and messing you all up.

Yeah, how cool was that? I was watching it with a girlfriend of mine, and my nose started to bleed [on screen] and she leaned over, hit me and said “No! No, you can’t die!” I said, “Don’t worry, she just said had a nosebleed.” She said, “Yeah that means she’s gonna die!” [Laughs] What can you say, Juliet’s sick...

“You know the best thing would be if Juliet forgets all these guys and just ends up with Ben.”

riri postpones concert :(

Rihanna -- who has been left with bruises and a scratch on her face from her early Sunday morning altercation with beau Chris Brown -- has postponed a concert in Malaysia this week, organizers said Tuesday.

Rihanna's Los Angeles-based reps informed Malaysia's Pineapple Concerts that a show slated for Friday would have to be rescheduled to an unspecified date "in light of recent events involving Rihanna," Pineapple Concerts said in a statement to the Associated Press.

Indonesia and Malaysia were the latest stops on the singer's "Good Girl Gone Bad" tour.

The singer intends to travel back to her native Barbados to be with family, Usmagazine.com reports.

She is also providing "ongoing" cooperation with police during their battery investigation against Brown, a police source tells the Los Angeles Times.

Sources tell the Times that Rihanna (real name: Robyn Fenty) told police that Brown had hurt her the night before the Grammys.

Meanwhile, Brown, who will be arraigned March 5, boarded a private plane leaving L.A. on Monday, Us has confirmed.

He withdrew from Saturday's NBA All-Star Weekend and Wrigley Gum ads featuring him have been suspended.

Ticketmaster, Live Nation Announce $2.5 Billion Merger Into Live Nation Entertainment

There were reports that the two ticket vendors had merger plans, but now it’s official:
Ticketmaster and Live Nation have announced the deal
. It’s a tax-free, all stock merger with a combined value of approximately $2.5 billion, and the new entity will be called Live Nation Entertainment. The deal is subject to the usual legal issues, including regulatory review, and there’s sure to be some pressure against it from the music industry and others who see this consolidation as a threat. Release.

A lot of ego to fit into one space ... Barry Diller, chairman of Ticketmaster Entertainment, will be chairman of the board with Michael Rapino, now CEO of Live Nation, as CEO and president, and Irving Azoff, now CEO of Ticketmaster, as executive chairman and CEO of Front Line.

—The name change:
Dropping the Ticketmaster brand in favor of Live Nation could be the first step in a campaign to distance the new company from the negative press surrounding the long-standing ticketing giant. A WSJ source said management wants to diminish the impression that the “company is out to gouge” consumers—as concert-goers have long complained about the service fees Ticketmaster tacks on to ticket prices.

Update from call:
Not a lot of groundbreaking information from the Live Nation/Ticketmaster call on the deal. But Barry Diller (chairman of the new entity), Michael Rapino (CEO) and Irving Azoff (executive chairman) did offer some additional detail on the transaction.

—Deal should close in the second half of 2009, pending Department of Justice approval.

—The new entity is projecting at least $40 million in cost savings in the first year following the close of the deal.

—Combined company will generate $600 million in revenue.

Rapino, Diller and Azoff also talked (sort of) about how the deal would benefit consumers. They said that technology investments would allow for paperless ticketing and afford fans “better access to shows.” It’s unclear, though, what they meant by “better access.” Rapino also said that the combined company would be able to increase attendance at live events, but outside of additional marketing muscle, it’s unclear how fans would suddenly start buying more tickets just because the two companies are now one. And Rapino didn’t elaborate.

Get ready for a $5.25 merger fee!

Miley Cyrus definitely has a type

While Chris Martin was kissing up to Paul McCartney and Kanye West was showing off his mullet onstage at tonight’s Grammy Awards, Rolling Stone was hanging out backstage and in the press room at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where newcomers like Miley Cyrus, Adele and Carrie Underwood rubbed shoulders with legends like Paul McCartney, B.B. King and the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart (check out photos of the behind-the-scenes action in our Grammy backstage gallery).

It was the kind of environment that made stars want to open up, and Cyrus happily confessed her crush on Kings of Leon’s bassist Jared Followill. “He’s pretty good looking,” she said. “I’m not usually one to freak, but me and Taylor [Swift] last night were like, ‘Holy smoke!’ ” Don’t expect the two teen pop stars to hook up with the Kings anytime soon, though: “Katy Perry was like, ‘They have super hot girlfriends.’ I was like, ‘Dang it!’ ”

Chris Will No Longer 'Do A Body Good' [TMZ]

In the wake of his arrest -- and the allegations he beat up Rihanna -- the "Got Milk" people have wiped Brown's ad from bodybymilk.com and fired off the following statement:

"The Milk Mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously. We are very proud and protective of the image of the Milk Mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens. Mr. Brown's ad was launched last fall and is scheduled to end this week."

Rihanna's ad still appears on the website.

Bossip just received the real story of Chris Brown and Rihanna’s fight from a highly placed source in the Chris Brown legal camp:

They were in the car leaving the Clive Davis party. While Chris was driving, he got a phone call from a young lady. Our source tells us that Rihanna knew that Chris had been messing around with this particular girl and she has, as of late, been the reason for many of their heated arguments. Rihanna got a glimpse of the phone, saw the name and number and immediately recognized who it was. She went ballistic and began to “beat the sh*t” out of Chris (while driving). She was so uncontrollable, that Chris began to fight back in self defense, which ensued the fight. Rihanna’s rage stemmed from Chris’ questionable fidelity in the last few months.

Rihanna's Grandma Offers an Update

Rihanna's granny wants you to know that her baby girl is doing just fine.

Speaking with tells Barbados' Daily Nation newspaper, Clara Brathwaite say, "I don't want people to worry. Rihanna is fine and she is doing well."

As for claims that she suffered a broken nose during a Sunday night altercation with (ex?) boyfriend Chris Brown? Brathwaite says those rumours are absolutely not true.

Meanwhile, Rihanna will soon travel back to Barbados to get away from the media and spend time with her family. Wise decision.

"I hope everything works out with my homeboy Chris.. I was just with him the night before the incident talking about his new album and just kickin it. I hope everything works out for the best! Chris hold it down homie, you know how the media gets!!" -Souljah Boy

UPDATE 4: Terrance Howard Says Chris Brown is A Great Guy

Actor Terrence Howard tells Hollywood.tv that "everybody needs to get out of [Rihanna and Chris Brown's] way."

"Chris is a great guy. He'll be all right," Howard says. "And Rihanna knows he loves her."

"The Insider" confirmed that Rihanna would not be performing at the Grammys after sources say she sustained a bruised face in what was called a car accident.

Chris is Rihanna's rumored boyfriend and is under investigation for allegedly making "criminal threats" to a woman he'd been riding with in a car who sustained what police called "visible injuries."

While some reports claim the woman was Rihanna, police have yet to identify the accuser.

Chris Brown's Stepfather "Not Surprised" to Hear of Alleged Assault

Chris Brown's former stepfather -- whom the singer has accused of abusing his mother -- is speaking out about Brown's Sunday morning arrest for allegedly assaulting girlfriend Rihanna.

When asked by Access Hollywood if he believed Brown hurt Rihanna, Donnelle Hawkins says, "I wouldn't be surprised."

Look back at Chris and Rihanna's happier times.

"He (Chris) has to take responsibility for his own actions." Hawkins adds.

In a 2007 interview with Giant magazine, Brown reveals that, when he was 11, he told his mother he would go to jail for killing his allegedly abusive stepfather.

See the day's top news photos.

"He used to hit my mom...He made me terrified all the time, terrified like I had to pee on myself," Brown told Giant. "I remember one night he made her nose bleed. I was crying and thinking, 'I'm just gonna go crazy on him one day...' I hate him to this day."

But Hawkins says the abuse claims are untrue.

"There was a lot of arguing between his mom and I," he says. "I never raised a hand at his mom."

"We [Brown's mother and I] argued frequently," Hawkins continued. "As far as physical abuse, there was no physical abuse.

See photos of the biggest celeb scandals.

"I spanked Chris one time," he says.

"I became the bad guy. Chris was really mad at his mom for leaving his dad, so I became the scapegoat," Hawkins goes on. "No matter how much I tried to be a father figure, nothing worked."

FYI: For those that don't know, Chris' stepfather is the one that apparently was an abusive husband.
I'll try and put this in a cut later, if you guys want.

Abi Titmuss turns down Mickey Rourke; Dev Patel rides the Pussy Train

HOLLYWOOD hellraiser MICKEY ROURKE celebrated his Best Actor triumph at the Baftas by trying to bed ABI TITMUSS.

The movie wildman, 52 – who scooped the gong for his film The Wrestler – invited the raunchy blonde to join him for a round between the sheets.

But he was left licking his wounds at a glitzy after-show party when the ex-nurse floored him – by counting him out.

Sexpot Abi, 32, was among guests at the plush Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane when Rourke made his saucy submission.

Abi is usually not averse to a clinch after having boasted in the past: “I love sex.”

But she revealed: “The last thing I said to him was, ‘No, I won’t be sleeping with you tonight, Mickey.’” It was not the first time Abi had met the actor. She told how they “hit it off” two years ago at a music festival.

Meanwhile the teenager Rourke pipped for the Best Actor gong – Slumdog Millionaire’s DEV PATEL – told of his amazement at suddenly becoming a heart-throb.

Dev, 18, who appeared in TV’s Skins, has rocketed to stardom thanks to the smash-hit movie, which scooped seven Baftas including Best Film.

He grinned as crowds of women queued to meet him: “When I was in Skins I couldn’t get laid for love nor money. Now I am beating them off with a stick.”

Showtime orders more 'Tara'

Toni Collette series renewed for second season

Showtime's series about a women with multiple personalities is getting a second season.

The pay cabler has ordered 12 new episodes of "United States of Tara," which is set to go back into production this summer and kick off its second campaign early in 2010 with its entire first-season cast intact.

Factoring in encore runs, "Tara" has averaged 2.1 million viewers in the four weeks since its Jan. 18 premiere, with Sunday's episode up 15% in total viewership over the Feb. 1 installment. The rookie's numbers exceed the first-season performances of both "Dexter" and "Weeds."

"Tara" was created by Diablo Cody and is produced by DreamWorks Television, with Steven Spielberg serving as exec producer.

Ben Affleck holding out for a boy

Ben Affleck may have recently become a dad for a second time, but it would appear that the actor is not done quite yet.

A friend of the "He's Just Not That Into You" star has told OK magazine that Ben has set his heart on having a boy to add to the feminine brood.

Last month the star's wife Jennifer Garner gave birth to Seraphina Rose. The couple also have a three-year-old girl Violet.

A pal told OK that Ben is looking for a boy to pass his love of baseball on to.

The friend said: "Ben is happy to keep going until he gets his boy. He has visions of dressing a little guy in Red Sox gear, tossing a baseball around and cheering in the stands together."

But the 36-year-old actor may have some convincing to do.

A friend of the couple said: "Jen has told friends that she is done. She jokes with Ben, 'If you want more babies, you'll have to find a way to produce them yourself'."

Umm, girls can like baseball too, Ben.

Another List...Top 10 TV Shows of the '90s

But this isn't any old list – our Top 40 TV Shows of the '90s is just the first in a new series of countdowns in which we'll put our AOL Television seal of approval on the top 40 series of every decade.

Every other month we'll tackle another decade, going all the way back to the '50s, to recall the best comedies (hello "Lucy"), the best primetime soaps (do you remember who shot JR?), the best cop shows, animated series and groundbreaking TV shows.

So kick off 50 years of silver-screen bests with the greatest shows of the '90s, including everyone from "Beavis," "Buffy", and "Simpsons" to "Freaks and Geeks" and teens on the "Creek."

"Dawson's Creek" was definitely my favorite show, hence me using it for the main pic on this post. I also loved "Saved by the Bell", "Boy Meets World", "Family Matters", "Full House", "Step by Step"...pretty much all of TGIF. None of these made this damn list, boo. And a ton of cartoons...all the original Nicktoons ("Hey Arnold!" being my favorite) and a ton of Cartoon Network shows ("The Powerpuff Girls", "Dexter's Laboratory", "Johnny Bravo", "Cow and Chicken", "Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy"...), plus "Daria", "South Park" (still an awesome show), and some Disney stuff too. I watched "Jeopardy!" every night with my mom. I still watch that shit. I still think "The Simpsons" is overrated. Obviously I needed to go outside more during the '90s, lol. I watch "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" now (never caught it when I was a kid) and they omitted that, too. WTF! What were your favorite '90s TV shows, ONTD?

Miley Cyrus Follows Photo Apology with Sushi!

Irony alert: Just hours after apologizing to the world for photos considered insensitive to Asian-Americans, Miley Cyrus ducked out for lunch with pals at a local sushi joint.

The Hannah Montana star doubly shocked Hollywood diners at the hole-in-the-wall joint Sushi Q, walking in with friends and sitting down for lunch, Celebuzz can report.

"The irony was really hard to ignore," one diner says. "First of all, who ever heard of this place. Secondly, this was just after her apology."

"She was with (Hannah co-star) Emily Osment along a with a young man. They were enjoying sushi. They shared a few rolls, dined in. They sat at table chitchatting about nothing without a care in the world."

"Miley was dressed very casually, I'm talking wifebeater and sweatpants. The friends talked even after the place was cleared."

Cyrus has been under fire from Asian-American groups after photos surfaced world-wide of the star with friends making offensive gestures. After one explanatory statement for the photos deemed not-far-enough, Cyrus apologized again today for being "unintentionally hurtful."

Cyrus' statement, posted to her website read: "I really wanted to stress how sorry I am if the photo of me with my friends offended anyone."

"I have learned a valuable lesson from this and know that sometimes my actions can be unintentionally hurtful. I know everything is a part of GOD’s ultimate plan, and mistakes happen so that eventually I will become the woman he aspires me to be," she wrote.

Movie star Cillian reveals love for music with DJ role

Hollywood star Cillian Murphy has swapped his movie script to spin the disks this week. He went from Disco Pigs to disc jockey after agreeing to present a special edition of Revolver on 2FM's new digital station 2XM.

In a show broadcast this morning, the Cork-born thespian revealed in an exclusive interview his passion for music, which saw himfront a rock band, Sons of Mister Green Jeans.

Speaking about the Frank Zappa-influenced group, he explained how glad he is that he didn't sell out to a major label.

"We were offered a record deal by a record company in London but it wasn't the right time and I'm very glad in retrospect that we didn't sign because you kind of sign away your life to a label and the whole of your music.

"Nowadays people can record in their bedroom and they can make something that's full of integrity and then licence it to a record label," he said.

He also spoke openly about dropping out of his law course at University College Cork and how he went on to find fame and fortune as an actor.

Murphy has also put the finishing touches to a new movie, Perrier's Bounty, in which he stars alongside Brendan Gleeson and Jim Broadbent.

"It's written by Mark O'Rowe who wrote Intermission and it's kind of a weird black comedy set in the Dublin underworld and I play a fella out of his depth," he continued.

Fishy Is Just Above EVERYTHING

The queen of everything good and goopy isn't interested in walking the red carpet with her husband Chris Martin, because she's better than that. It was whispered that Fishsticks Paltrow and her twin cunt husband were supposed to hold clammy hands and walk the Grammy carpet together. This didn't happen and when asked about it, Fishy told Roger Friedman's FoxNews, “It’s cheesy. I mean, who wants to live like that?” Bitch, who wants to live like you?! Stupid ass.

You hear that Brangelina and every other couple in Hollywood? Fishy thinks you're an unwrapped slice of Kraft cheese. Yeah, you're not even organic and of the earth. You're filled with preservatives and you're best served microwaved over a plate of saltines. Mmm....delicious

This is a fucking toilet full of hot laughs, because Fishy is the biggest cheese ball in all the land. This hag is an even bigger cheese ball than the one permanently taking space under Joaquin Phoenix's peen skin. I mean, GOOP, Shakespeare in Love, THAT DRESS! “Thankfully I married someone who loves me just the way I am – and all the nuttiness that goes into me,” Sandra says. “My greatest joy is making our home what it’s supposed to be. Being a good wife, a good stepmom, a good current wife to the ex-wife. We’re a family.”

As for having her own kids, she said, “If I waited too long, it’s because we were supposed to do other things. If it is just too late? There are millions of children on this planet that I would be honored to call my own.”

When asked what her most memorable fashion moment was, Sandra shared, “My wedding dress. It was beautifully handcrafted, with elegant French lace. Angel Sanchez designed it, and every time I’d try it on, he’d say, “Sandra, please [lose] five pounds!” I apologize, Angel. I didn’t give him those five pounds, but guess what? Hilary Duff Keeps Faye Dunaway Feud Going

Making fun of Faye Dunaway's looks wasn't enough for Hilary Duff—she's still peeved at the aging actress.

Quick feud recap (because there are too many to keep track of anymore): Hilary is starring in a Bonnie and Clyde remake. This caused Dunaway to allegedly cackle, ''Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?" which got the Duffster in such a huff, she lashed out to E!'s Daily 10, "I might be mad if I looked like that now, too."

Seems pretty straightforward and done with, but Hilary's still got more to say about the matter on today's Bonnie Hunt Show.

See, Duff says Dunaway can't judge her, because the Lizzie McGuire star is still growing. "She started acting way later than I did, so I think I have time to grow—and grow with each project. I am learning and work hard at my craft," Hilary explains to Bonnie.

Being the kind hostess, Bonnie offers up some comfort: "I think even Faye went through a time, if you look historically, where some people might have said that about her. She has great beauty, but she proved herself."

Then Hilary admits her D10 comments were kind of mean, but whatevs: "It's not OK for people to take stabs at you and to say mean things for no reason." And now we wait to see if this thing is really and truly over...or if another Faye Dunaway zinger is on its way.

Aaron Eckhart, Richard Jenkins in 'Diary' pic

By Borys Kit

Feb 10, 2009, 01:00 AM ET

BERLIN -- Aaron Eckhart and Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins will be hitting the sauce in "Rum Diary," the adaptation of the Hunter S. Thompson novel that stars Johnny Depp.

Eckhart is in negotiations while Jenkins is signed on for the movie, which Bruce Robinson adapted and is directing. Amber Heard also is on board.

Eckhart is part of a love triangle that sees him vying with Depp for Heard's affection. "Diary" is the tale of a washed-up, hard-drinking journalist named Paul Kemp (Depp) in 1950s Puerto Rico. Eckhart would play Sanderson, a wealthy landowner who believes everything has a price and introduces Kemp to a different standard of living.

Jenkins is playing Lotterman, the man who oversees the rundown newspaper where Kemp works.

The project, which Depp, Christi Dembrowski and Graham King are producing, begins shooting March 30 in Puerto Rico. "Rum" is a production of King's GK Films and Depp's Infinitum Nihil. Also producing is Film Engine, with A.J. Dix, Anthony Rhulen and William Shively attached alongside Robert Kravis and Greg Shapiro. GK Films is preselling at the European Film Market in Berlin.

Eckhart, who played Harvey Dent/Two-Face in "The Dark Knight," also is attached to star in "Battle: Los Angeles," a sci-fi actioner from Columbia Pictures, director Jonathan Liebesman and producer Neal Moritz.

The CAA-repped actor next stars opposite Jennifer Aniston in "Traveling."

Gersh-repped Jenkins, nominated for the best actor Oscar for "The Visitor," just signed on for a stint in Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's mystery-shrouded horror project "Cabin in the Woods" for MGM/UA. He is additionally repped by Bill Treusch.

Sarah is the second child for the couple, who married in 2005.

The singer/guitarist and his wife, an attorney, live in Beverly Hills with their son Colin Michael, 2, and Stanley's son Evan Shane, 14, from his previous marriage.

In addition to caring for Sarah, Stanley has other big projects on the horizon: The accomplished painter will tour America with KISS this summer to celebrate the band's 35-year anniversary.

Johnny Depp will narrate the 'Doors' documentary

Los Angeles: 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor Johnny Depp will turn narrator for a new documentary on the iconic rock and roll band 'The Doors'.

Johnny Depp will be narrating 'When You're Strange' a documentary about the 60's band which had rock legend Jim Morrison as it's lead singer.

The film which got good reviews at the Sundance film festival will now get another boost with Depp's participation. An announcement about the decision to add Depp's voice to the project is expected to be made at the Berlin Film Festival, the Los Angeles Times reported.

All the footage in the film was shot between 1966 and 1970, as far back when band members Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek were still in film school, and includes concert and in-studio footage.

An Ugly mess has been averted!

Despite the, ahem, perception problem that resulted from that whole open-ended hiatus thing, ABC is on the verge of renewing Ugly Betty for a fourth season, sources confirm to me exclusively.

The network is also said to be thisclose to giving early pickups to Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, America's Funniest Home Videos, and The Bachelor.

An ABC spokesperson says the net "is not ready to announce any pick-ups at this point."

As you know, Betty's future was called into question when ABC announced that it was temporarily replacing the show on Thursdays with an all-sitcom comedy block. At the time, Alphabet insiders insisted the show was safe, and, gosh dang-it, they weren't lying!

Wait wait wait. America's Funniest Home Videos? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills - is it 1990?

Finally, a Slumdog Millionaire controversy more substantive than idiots whining about the title.

Danny Boyle has spoken of how he set up trust funds for Indian child actors Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail and paid for their education. But it has emerged that the children were paid less than many Indian domestic servants.

Rubina was paid £500 ($745) for a year’s work [they didn’t do an entire year's work, I guarantee you] while Azharuddin received £1,700 ($2,532.95), according to the children’s parents.

However a spokesman for the film’s American distributors, Fox Searchlight, disputed this saying the fees were more than three times the average annual salary an adult in their neighbourhood would receive. They would not disclose the actual sum.

Fox doesn’t sound like they’re disputing the actual amount, they’re just saying the amount is three times the average annual salary of someone LIVING IN AN INDIAN SLUM.  Not necessarily the best defense.

Both children were found places in a local school and receive £20 ($29.80) a month for books and food. However, they continue to live in grinding poverty and their families say they have received no details of the trust funds set up in their names.

After almost three years, Mandy Moore’s clothing line Mblem is shutting its doors. The contemporary line launched in 2005 and was frequently spotted on the singer-actress-designer. Though her first foray into fashion is over, Mandy still hopes to try her hand at fashion again one day. “I love the fashion world. I’m fascinated by it. I’m humbled by it,” she said tells WWD. “If I were to dip my toe back in there, it would have to be the right situation… a great partnership that could represent a true reflection of me and my ideas and you know that wasn’t happening. So next go round, that needs to be top of the list.” As for now, Mandy is getting back to her roots and concentrating on her music career, releasing Amanda Leigh, a California ’70s-inspired pop album, on May 26. Though we are sad to see Mandy leave fashion, we can’t wait to hear her latest music.

American hero talks at length about not being a homosexual

No matter what you might think about Kanye West, he's definitely secure with his raps and with himself. On the Grammy stage on Sunday night, he laid the first verse on "Swagga Like Us," knowing that he had three more acclaimed wordsmiths — Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and T.I. — coming after him on the track, and still felt confident that his rap held up in such strong company.

Kanye does exactly what he wants to do, so it's no surprise that he took the stage in a sparkling jacket that could have come out of Michael Jackson's closet in 1984.

Still, Kanye's clothes have become a major topic lately. In a recent interview with MTV News, 50 Cent joked heavily about West's choice of wardrobe. And Fif isn't the only one: On the Internet, fans and bloggers alike have questioned the Chicago native's garment picks.

Stars offer their support to bushfire victims in Victoria, Australia

It's been extremely tough and heartbreaking for residents of Victoria, Australia. Over 170 people and 800 homes have perished in the bushfires the nation has ever seen.

These unfolding events were not lost on Hollywood actors Ginnifer Goodwin and Justin Long who expressed their sorrow for the victims and their families.

"Our hearts are going out to everybody," said the actor.

"Our prayers are with everyone. We're so sorry."

Goodwin admitted that the weekend's disaster had cast a pall over their trip Down Under.

"You can't be here and not feel the tragedy."

Update on Usher's Wife

Usher's Wife Suffered Complications From Surgery

Usher's wife, Tameka Foster, is recovering in a Brazilian hospital after suffering serious complications during routine surgery, according to the singer's publicist.

However, despite the family's demand for privacy, the Brazilian media has uncovered some details about what went wrong.

Brazilian news website G1 is reporting that Foster, 38, was rushed to the Sirio-Libanes Hospital's intensive care unit last Friday after a medical emergency during a liposuction operation. Foster reportedly suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest as she was being anesthetized for the procedure. She was put into an induced coma for 24 hours and was now recovering, according to the website.

Florence Henderson touches man's penis; America gasps

Broadway Backwards is an opportunity for socially-conscious singer-actors to use their skills in the service of New York’s LGBT Community Center. Plus it is a chance to run your hand across the turgid shaft of a nameless but chiseled chorus member, if you are Florence Henderson, television's Carol Brady.

There's lots more pics (Alan Cumming did a song, and so did Marc and Amanda from Ugly Betty, and turnabout is fair play as some lady grabs Florence Henderson's boobs!) but I can't be bothered to re-upload them, so just go to the source.

Bruce Springsteen: "I didn't even know I was up for a Grammy"

Singer reflects on his long month: Super Bowl, 'We Are One' Obama concert and more.

by Lindsay Wallace

Bruce Springsteen did a remarkable job of condensing the energy of his three-hour-plus-long concerts into 12 minutes with his rousing halftime performance at the Super Bowl. But it sounds like the effort took a toll on the Boss.

"It was like being shot out of a cannon," a tired but happy Springsteen told MTV News. "I didn't know 12 minutes could take that much out of you! I'm still recovering from the intensity."

Springsteen, still tan from his time in Florida, made this comment just moments after stepping out of his parked car, where he'd just spent the previous 30 minutes spontaneously napping. "This has probably been the busiest month of my life," he said.

Of course, that month has also included his performance at President Obama's "We Are One" concert, winning a Golden Globe Award for his title track to "The Wrestler," releasing his new LP, Working on a Dream, announcing his forthcoming world tour (including an appearance at the Bonnaroo festival), and winning yet another Grammy Award — one he actually said he wasn't aware he was in the running for.

"I didn't even know I was up for a Grammy!" he laughed. (His "Girls in Their Summer Clothes," from last year's Magic LP, took the Best Rock Song trophy.) "I opened the newspaper on Monday and saw that I had won, and thought, 'Well, that's great!' "

And with that, it was back to his car, to rest up for his world tour, which begins April 1 in San Jose, California, and is scheduled to run into August.

Rihanna to Cops: Chris Brown Threatened to Kill Me

Image and video hosting by TinyPicEarlier today, the Los Angeles district attorney asked police detectives to dig up more evidence for their case against Chris Brown.

The police are getting cooperation from Rihanna, and what she has told them so far is chilling.

A source close to the investigation tells E! News exclusively that Rihanna has alleged to police that Brown choked her while threatening to kill her and, subsequently, she lost consciousness.

They began squabbling after leaving Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party late Saturday. Shortly after midnight, things blew up. Brown pulled his silver Lamborghini to the side of a street in L.A.'s Hancock Park neighborhood. That's when, per the source, Rihanna grabbed the car keys and tossed them out the window, sending Brown into a rage.

He tried in vain to find the keys, then came back to the car, put his hands around her neck and, according to the insider, said, "I'm going to kill you!"

According to the source, the 20-year-old "Disturbia" singer told police that she lost consciousness, and when she awoke, Brown had fled.

According to the source, her right eye was blackened and badly swollen and she had hand prints on her arms. The responding officers were so concerned about her, they drove Rihanna to the hospital in their squad car instead of waiting for an ambulance.

Officers took two sets of photographs of the banged-up singer, one at the scene and the second after she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment. Those photos were presumably among the evidence presented to the district attorney.

After being treated for her injuries, police escorted her down a rear elevator and into a waiting Mercedes, the source says.

Brown, 19, was subsequently booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. He was released after posting $50,000 bail.

His lawyer, Mark Geragos, has not responded to repeated requests for comment on the allegations. Brown's publicist also has not commented.

A spokeswoman for Rihanna declined to comment specifically on details of the fight and the arrest and stuck to her earlier statement from Sunday: "Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support."

New Moon auditions report/filming schedule

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

There’s information on the New Moon auditions for Native American teens that we told about a few days ago. According to BoxWish.com, some fans were turned away since the response was overwhelming.

Yet it seems that those organising the Canadian auditions weren’t prepared for the huge number of first nations youngsters applying to be part of the Stephenie Meyers story, resulting in hundreds of hopefuls being turned away before they’d even had a chance.

The advert had asked for “young first nations/aboriginal actors and actresses between the ages of 15 and 25” and they descended upon Second Avenue Studios in their hundreds, some travelling as far afield as Florida for the opportunity to share the screen with the film franchises’ leading lights Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. “This is more than we expected,” admitted Bim Narine, a casting assistant at Vancouver’s Aikins/ Cossey agency. “It’s definitely a good turnout.”

The queues started to form as early as 5a.m. yesterday morning and ran all the way down Second Avenue and snaked into the corner of Crowe Street as hopefuls looked to make the audition window of 9am to 12pm, though many were left disappointed when this closed at 12.30pm. “It sucks,” complained 22-year-old Rosanna Razor. “I was here since 9 a.m. I came up from Seattle.” Sharing her regret was Razor who explained: “This is a proud moment for me. Native people don’t always get opportunities like this and I thought it would be really cool to be a part of it.” Some even targeted their frustrations at those that had made it into the building before the cut-off point, hurling accusations of unfair queue-jumping.

Exclusive: Look who's moving into the new 'Melrose Place'

Here comes the neighborhood!

With Smallville producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer now officially installed as showrunners, The CW at last has revealed who'll be moving into its remodeled Melrose Place next season. (Well, they've revealed the characters at least; the roles have yet to be cast.) As you'd imagine, there are some familiar types among the tenants.

Wanna meet 'em? Come on!

The new Jake and Amanda are... David Patterson and Ella Flynn. He's Melrose royalty, the now-grown son of the original Jake, with the taut abs and thick black book to prove it. She's his omnisexual sometime lover, a PR whiz whose tongue is as sharp as her stilettos.

The new Billy and Allison are... Jonah Miller and Riley Richmond. He's a Kevin Smith wannabe whose obsession with his movies is unlikely to give him a happy ending with his sickly-sweet schoolteacher fiancee -- especially when she takes a shine to the glamorous life he loathes.

The new Matt is... Auggie Kirkpatrick. A hunky hippie, this recovering alcoholic is willing to give everybody the benefit of the doubt. No word on whether the word sucker will be tattooed on Debbie Downer's forehead, but come on…

The new Jane is... Lauren Bishop. Sort of an anti-Michael, this straight-arrow med student falls on such hard times that she's forced to pull a Sydney and trade sexual favors for financial ones.

The new Sydney is... Violet Foster. Though she's fresh off the turnip truck, this small-town teen already has a worldly-wise m.o.: play the sex kitten till you're ready to bare your claws.

So what do you think? Are you interested in seeing Melrose Place renovated? Or should this property have remained condemned? I'm thinking Scott Porter and Amanda Seyfried as David and Ella. Got any better ideas? (Additional reporting by Andy Patrick)

First Official Footage from Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds!

Apparently the rumors are true - Entertainment Tonight is showing the first full trailer for Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds tomorrow night. In advance of that debut, they've aired a very short teaser for the trailer, which features about 25 seconds of our first look at Inglourious Basterds. This is obviously a very exciting and grand debut, as this is nearly ten years in the making, and it was less than a year ago when Tarantino announced that he was actually making this and he's already put together a trailer. So without further ado, let's get on with it! Check out the first footage from Inglourious Basterds!

During World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "the Basterds" are chosen to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris that is targeted by soldiers.

Inglourious Basterds is both written and directed by the infamous Quentin Tarantino, of everything from Reservoir Dogs to Pulp Fiction to Kill Bill to Death Proof previously. The Weinstein Company and Universal have partnered to bring us Tarantino's WWII masterpiece in all of its brilliant glory. Inglourious Basterds will officially hit theaters worldwide on August 21st later this year after its premiere at Cannes.

America Ferrera Diva Attitude Causes Tension On Set

Producers of ABC’s Ugly Betty have ordered Golden Globe-winning series star America Ferrera to drop the not so pretty attitude.

Set insiders tell The National Enquirer, America has become impossible to work with as the show edges toward its fourth season.

“Everyone on Ugly Betty needs a break–but America is the root of the trouble.”

Last month, ABC programming bosses announced that they were putting the hit dramedy on hiatus–indefinitely–beginning March 26; Ugly Betty producers hope some time off will help the young star put things in prospect.

“… The brass is sick of dealing with the cast’s petty disagreements and infighting instigated by America’s diva behavior,” one spywitness claims. “They’re hoping the hiatus scares America straight and serves as a reality check that she’s not indispensable-and not the center of the universe.”

Ugly Betty is expected to return to the air in June.

Kanye West completely devastated over Rihanna, Terrence Howard thinks hitting is love

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Kanye West says he is shocked by the news that Chris Brown allegedly assaulted girlfriend Rihanna.

"I was completely devastated by the concept of what I heard," the rapper said Tuesday on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show.

Kayne West - who saw them Saturday at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party in L.A. -- said he learned the sad details shortly before he performed "American Boy" with Estelle on Sunday's Grammys.

"I was completely devastated during the performance," West said.

He said he knows Rihanna better than Brown, 19, as he went on tour with the 20-year-old singer.

"Rihanna is so important to our culture ... to pop music," said West. "I feel like she is the most important artist in music and has the most potential. Her taste level and her age ... she has the potential to be the greatest artist of all time.

"In that sense, I feel like that's my baby sis," he said of Rihanna. "I would do any and everything to help her in any situation.

Although West didn't want to get into specifics, he said, "All I want to say is, it's so devastating. Just as a person, I don't care how famous she is or even if she just worked at McDonald's ... [abuse] should never happen. It should never come to that place."

Adnan: "I'm still dating Britney Spears"

Maybe someone should tell Adnan Ghalib that he’s no longer dating Britney Spears. The shady paparazzo believes that he is still in a relationship with the pop star.

The British-Afghan met the singer in December 2007 and the two dated until the singer’s emotional breakdown last Spring.

According to Heat Magazine, the photog was recently overheard telling friends that he is Britney’s boyfriend, despite the fact that the singer obtained a restraining order against him just two weeks ago.

“I still love Britney. I’m her boyfriend,” Adnan told a pal. “Britney has a beautiful soul. We share something really special. The truth about us will come out eventually, but it’s not for me to talk about. I love her.”

Charges Dropped Against Saving Abel’s Jason Null and crew member Brandon Danger.

OAKLAND — Prosecutors dropped felony charges Tuesday against a Saving Abel band member and a roadie after reviewing a videotape of the incident in which the pair were accused of forcing a minor to give them oral sex.

Guitar player Jason Null, 33, of Cornith, Miss., and guitar stringer Brandon Danger, 21, of Tampa, Fla., played a show with the band at Oracle Arena on Feb. 3, opening for Avenged Sevenfold.

They later were accused by a 17-year-old Central Valley girl of luring her onto their tour bus with promises to put her in a music video, and then forcing her to perform oral sex on Danger. Oakland police investigated, and the men were arrested and arraigned on felony sex charges on Friday.

Video evidence contradicted her story, according to defense and prosecuting attorneys.

Defense attorneys were able to provide a video recording of the incident to the Alameda County district attorney's office Monday, and after reviewing it, prosecutors said the girl's story was too suspect to take to court.

"Based on the video, the girl was not completely truthful to police," Assistant District Attorney Tom Rogers said. "The video contradicts her account of what happened. Among some of the things video shows is that she led the people on the bus to believe she was older than she really was, told them she had graduated from high school. The video also shows no force was used when she committed the sex act. Nor does it show Null forcing her head down to the exposed genital area, as she had said."

Null has been free on $90,000 bail since Friday and rejoined the band on tour. Danger was held in custody under $60,000 in bail and was being processed for release in the late Tuesday morning.

An attorney for Null said the video captured the entire time period the girl was on the bus.

"The entire event was captured on videotape, but the DA had not had chance to review it when they made the decision to charge," attorney Kevin Ikuma said. "The tape had not been collected at the time of the arrest. There are several reasons for that, not all of which had to do with the police, but also with the person making the videotape getting a little freaked out once they realized what had actually been filmed.

"(Null) had nothing to do with anything. He was not involved with this person at all," Ikuma said. "The allegation was this happened for a brief time on the bus. According to the alleged victim, the entire thing happened on the bus, and the video shows the entire period of being on the bus."

The band continued its tour while Null was in custody, and he's now rejoined them, hoping to build a name for himself now that the DA's office has exonerated him, Ikuma said.

"He spent two nights in custody behind this. It's unfortunate considering he's been completely exonerated," Ikuma said. "But in the end, the right conclusions were reached, and he's certainly grateful for that."

Danger, who ended up spending a week in jail, was "gratified" by the DA's decision, according to his attorney, Lee Mezzetti.

With online commentators suggesting Danger should pursue legal action against his accuser, Mezzetti said he'd advised his client to take a cool-off period.

"My advice is to maybe decompress a bit before making any big decisions," Mezzetti said. "It wouldn't surprise me if the client just moves on. I wouldn't blame him."

Surprising stories behind 20 Muppet characters

Surprising stories behind 20 Muppet characters

Like a lot of people, I grew up on Sesame Street and the Muppets. But did you ever stop to wonder where they came from?

Some of the characters we know and love were recycled from other TV shows and commercials Jim Henson worked on, while others were invented by using whatever materials were around.

Be prepared for a little nostalgia, and I hope I didn't leave out your favorite -- not all of the characters have interesting background stories (sorry, Big Bird).
