The Pop Princess Reclaims Title From Paris Hilton in Guinness World Records 2009

A mere week after sweeping three MTV Video Awards, Britney Spears confirms her comeback with another global recognition. The 2009 edition of Guinness World Records (out 17th September) reveals that the pop princess has reclaimed her notorious record title Most Searched Person on the Internet from socialite Paris Hilton. Spears first grabbed the crown in 2007 but lost it to Hilton last year. The record is based on statistics from search engine Google and denotes a different type of accolade to the esteemed achievements that Britney accomplished with her music between 2000 and 2001, such as Best Selling Album by a Teenage Solo Artist (2000), Best Selling Album in the US by a Female Artist (2000), Best Selling Teenage Artist (2001), Fastest Most No. 1 Singles on UK chart by a teenage Female Solo Artist (2000).

What in the name of Kanye West has gotten into Lindsay Lohan?

Lilo was heading into The Bowery Hotel in NYC tonight -- the same place J.Lo is throwing is throwing a birthday party for Marc Anthony -- when she tripped over a metal barricade that had been set up. According to our guy on the scene, Lindsay must have thought one of the paps tripped her -- because she turned around and punched a photog in the nose!

She was on the phone at the time and, after the punch, told whoever she was talking to, "Oh my God, I just hit a paparazzi."

Cops were called to the scene, but no charges were made.

Earlier today, Miley Cyrus was seen attending Saturday morning church service with buff-bodied Nashville Star hottie Justin Gaston, who’s also an underwear model.

The 15-year-old Disney sensation and the 20-year-old hunk were accompanied by Miley’s family. Justin is originally from Louisiana and left home at age 17 to pursue a career in music, while supporting himself as a model.

Most recently, Gaston was featured as the love interest in teen country superstar Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” music video.

Eva Longoria Parker's publicist called Monday to blast online entertainment reports that stated Eva got in the way of Paul McCartney's ex, Heather Mills, getting a guest shot on "Desperate Housewives."

She was responding to my blog Sunday that reported this tidbit that was carried on IMDB and loads of other celebrity Web sites. They quoted Mills' ex-publicist Michele Elyzabeth as saying "Housewives" creator Marc Cherry was interested in hiring McCartney's former wife as a guest star, until Longoria Parker indicated she would have none of it.

"The producer was keen. I reckon they saw the chance to get some headlines for the show," said Elyzabeth of "Housewives" in a WENN report published on Web site IMDB. "But when the stars discussed it, Eva Longoria was totally against it. She demanded Heather be dropped from consideration."

Yet, Liza Anderson, longtime publicist for Longoria Parker, said there was no truth to those comments and that "She (Eva) doesn't even know who Heather Mills is."

Bonnie Wright attended the 2008 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and had some problems with her fancy footwear The Hogwarts star's Prada heels were slightly too big for her small feet and she embarrassingly tripped right into Narnia star William Moseley backstage at the awards as she was about to go out and present. Bonnie was seen quietly talking to William after she came backstage where he then teased her about not falling flat on her back in front of the whole world.

A nervous Bonnie smiled as flash bulbs went off and screaming kids from the main stage filled the room with loud cheers. William made to exit the backstage area only to stand at the entrance to wait for Bonnie to catch up. The two were seen returning to their seats to watch the rest of the awards and performances. Evanna Lynch, who plays Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter, was also at the Nickelodeon awards and she presented with fellow potter pal Bonnie Wright.

Bonnie was also heard mentioning a new project she was looking to get involved in called "A Great and Terrible Beauty" playing the lead role as "Gemma Doyle". In July, 2006, Icon Productions, the film production company run by Mel Gibson, announced that it would adapt the book into a film based on the best-selling book, to be written and directed by Charles Sturridge.

Bonnie Wright stars as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film due out next summer.

First Single "Womanizer" Is Slated To Hit Radio On September 22nd

Jive/Zomba recording artist Britney Spears announces her sixth studio album, Circus, set for release December 2nd. The first single from the album is titled "Womanizer" and was produced by the up-and-coming Atlanta production team The Outsyders. The album release date coincides with Spears' birthday.

Jennifer Lopez almost drowned while swimming through the Nautica Triathlon . . .The waves were to high for her as she started to submerge and was left missing for a couple of seconds until her trainer helped her out. When she reached enough depth where she could stand on her feet she gave a big smile showing relief.

I knew it. I knew that bitch didn't finish a triathlon by herself. I want to see some pictures of her during the bike part of the race. She had a tandem, didn't she? Or an engine. "I was barely able to finish the race when my bike ran out of gas at mile three."

Stephan Jenkins, the lead singer and guitarist for Third Eye Blind, was talking to manager and Nettwerk Music founder Terry McBride about ideas for releasing the band's next album, Ursa Major (Warner Music Group, February '09) when McBride, who does not manage or provide label services for the band, came up with a real humdinger: Why not release stems for fans to play around with in advance of the album's release?

After a moment, Jenkins (right) was sold on the idea. Starting Monday, the band will allow fans to mix and remix songs from Ursa Major before they even hear what it sounds like, on the Indaba music collaboration site. This appears to be the first time a band plans to intentionally leak the components that make up album in advance of its release.

"We were just sort of brainstorming, and (McBride) was the one who said, 'You know, I'd like to see you put out stems before you put out the album, so that there isn't one preconceived notion of what this is," Jenkins told Wired.com.

"For a moment, I thought, 'Wow, I've always been so in control. I've always produced everything I've done (with the help of a mixer), every record I've made'... (McBride's) response was, 'spread the bounty, and the bounty will come.'"

Hey, it’s tough being a celeb sometimes - especially after you’ve just had a super long flight, it’s late, and someone sticks a camera in your face. Lindsay Lohan allegedly attacked a photographer as she ran into the Bowery Hotel. Lindsay arrived in New York on Sunday night and was faced with photographers at her hotel. She did not want her photo taken and allegedly hit a photographer when he attempted to snap a shot. The photographer called 911 and the police came but told the photographer that they could do nothing as there was no physical damage inflicted. Of course, Lindsay wasn’t angry with our talented photographer, Justin Campbell - we’re just documenting the scene, you know? Here’s hoping that Lindsay got some rest and will enjoy the rest of her stay in New York City!

Jennifer Lopez’s rep denies she skipped Project Runway because she didn’t get a film part



Jennifer Lopez, who was supposed to judge the finale of Project Runway 5 but was replaced by Tim Gunn at the last minute because of a foot injury, swam half a mile, biked 18 miles, and ran four miles in 2:23:38.8 just two days later.

That she competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon Sunday (The Daily Mail hias pictures) with an ankle injury that prevented her from sitting in a chair and discussing dresses on Friday is a bit odd and suspicious. So why didn’t she show up?

Citing an anonymous “source close to Heidi Klum,” msnbc.com’s Courtney Hazlett reports that “that Klum was furious that Lopez pulled out.” Since the foot injury excuse is extremely weak, the source suggests that “Jennifer was hoping for a part in an upcoming Weinstein film, and she was told the day before (the ‘Project Runway’ show) that she wasn’t getting it. She was angry, so she pulled out.”

But Jennifer Lopez’s representative, Leslie Sloane, insisted that the injury was the only reason. “(Lopez) pulled out (of “Runway”) because she had an injury and had to have it rehabbed so she could compete (in the triathlon).” She went on to say “(Lopez) has no issues with Harvey (Weinstein),” she told Hazlett.

Jade Goody's cervical cancer has spread further than initially thought, doctors discovered during her eight-hour hysterectomy.

Her surgeons made the devastating discovery that the cancer had reached 'Stage Three' - or had moved beyond the organ, when they found cancer cells in a muscle behind her womb.

Until surgeons operated on Goody they were unsure of what they would find.

Before Goody's gruelling eight-hour operation, doctors had believed that the Big Brother star had a 95 per cent chance of remission.

But since the procedure, they have revealed her recovery odds have dropped - to slightly better than 50 per cent, it was reported in the Sunday Mirror.

It means the mother-of-two will be unable to have any more children and will now have to undergo an intense nine-week course of radiotherapy and chemotherapy to eradicate any remaining cancer cells.

Goody, 27, still under sedation at London's Royal Marsden Hospital's intensive care ward, was yet to be told the latest shattering news.

Her publicist Max Clifford had told MailOnline after the operation that she would be in intensive care for 24 hours.

A close friend of Goody's told the Sunday Mirror: 'It is not the news [the doctors] were hoping for but they believe they have removed all the cancerous cells and she has a decent chance of making a full recovery.'

...Surgeons kept Goody's ovaries intact for hormonal reasons, as usually when women have a radial hysterectomy with the ovaries removed they go through the menopause.

Technically she could still have children via a surrogate pregnancy, but she's been advised against doing so in case her eggs are carrying any cancer cells.

It’s no secret that the rich and famous love to throw lavish parties and invite all of their friends. And last night (September 14), Jennifer Lopez celebrated her hubby Marc Anthony’s 40th birthday with a swanky New York City soiree.

The “Jenny From the Block” songstress rented out space at the Bowery Hotel, located in Manhattan’s trendy West Village. And when they arrived, Anthony was blown away.
J.Lo sported a strapless ivory-colored floor-length gown while Marc went for a vintage tuxedo, including a powder blue jacket, black vest, and black trousers.

Guests in attendance for the evening affair included Brooke Shields, Dita Von Teese, Leah Remini, Lynda Lopez, the Versace gals, as well as Djimon Hounsou and Kimora Lee Simmons .

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Lopez was kicking butt on the West Coast at the Nautica Malibu Triathlon where she finished the running/cycling/swimming competition in three-and-a-half hours.

Harry Potter 'Lexicon' case not over yet
2 Mich. men plan to file appeal to try to get book published

The two Michigan men who lost a lawsuit against Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. haven't given up on publishing a book version of the popular Harry Potter Lexicon Web site.

Roger Rapoport, a Muskegon publisher, and Steve Vander Ark, a Grand Rapids area librarian and author, expect their attorneys this week to file a notice of appeal preserving the men's right to continue the legal battle for their Harry Potter book.

U.S. District Judge Robert P. Patterson Jr. ruled Sept. 8 that the book violated Rowling's copyright and blocked its publication.

In a 60-page opinion, Patterson said the work quotes too directly from the Potter books and dwells too much on a pair of books written by Rowling to explain aspects of the wizarding world she created.

Rapoport and Vander Ark are considering whether they could edit the book to pass the judge's muster.

Rowling and Warner Bros. -- maker of the Harry Potter films and owner of intellectual property rights to the Potter books and movies -- sued Rapoport's RDR Books last year for copyright infringement.

Vander Ark was not named as a defendant but was a witness in the case. The trial was held in New York.

Vander Ark, who founded the Lexicon Web site more than a decade ago, said he would revise the book and remove offending passages.

"I've always been very much willing to work with" Rowling and Warner Bros. "and try to see what can be done," he said.

Representatives for Rowling, who testified at the trial, could not be reached for comment.

After Vander Ark founded the Web site, he gained international fame as one of the most diligent students of the seven Potter novels, which have sold millions of copies worldwide.

He spoke to adoring crowds of Potter fans at conventions around the globe.

He was respected as an authority on the details of the Potter canon, including the genealogies of the many characters, the uses of hundreds of curses and the characteristics of dozens of magical creatures featured in the books.

But since Rowling accused Vander Ark of stealing her creative work, legions of Potter fans have turned against him, he said.

Rapoport said the legal tangle has boosted business for his company.

"Obviously, it was not the outcome we had hoped for or wanted," Rapoport said.

 James Morrison has branded Madonna "the most impolite celebrity he's ever met". The singer said so because the 50-year-old stunner she blanked him at a recording session. The 'Wonderful World' hitmaker was working at a studio in Los Angeles when he introduced himself to the Material Girl but claims she said nothing and then ignored him.

"I was recording in a studio in LA and she came in to speak to a producer and someone asked if I wanted to meet her," the Daily Star quoted him, as saying. Pretty decent. I did karate, dance and gymnastics when I was growing up so I was good at the wire work for the fight scenes. I spent five weeks training with stunt coordinators. I don’t know if I could kick your ass if we met on the street but I’m decent at looking like I’m good at fighting.

What's the best thing about coming from Vancouver?
Being so close to nature. It’s such a beautiful city and so close to the mountains and the oceans. It's nice to have that connection to the natural world that some people who live in other cities don’t have.

I was walking in a jungle in Costa Rica when a big ape charged me. He ran at me through the woods. I ran away screaming in the opposite direction.

Amy Poehler's leaving 'SNL'... Say it isn't so ...

Amy Poehler is spreading her small screen wings and flying away. She says she will take a break from "Saturday Night Live" after the November election to give birth to her first child.

"It's gonna be really hard — Boyz II Men hard — to say goodbye to yesterday," Amy says in the new issue of Men's Vogue. " 'SNL' was dangerous, late-night, last-minute and star-studded, but like any good drug, you need to know when to put it down."

And it gets worse, or better, depending on your point of view. She's not coming back to "SNL" after maternity leave. Instead Poehler is preparing to star in her own NBC series from the executive producers of "The Office." At least we have that to look forward to.

And there's always Poehler's animated kids' show "The Mighty B!" in which she portrays overachieving Honeybee scout Bessie Higgenbottom. We have yet to tune into it, but we may have to now.

A row has allegedly broken out between Sir Paul McCartney and ex-wife Heather Mills after she heard he wanted to buy her £3million home in Robertsbridge.

As reported in the national press this week she banned her ex-husband from buying her home, even though she's put it up for sale.

She bought the property in 2006 following her split from the former Beatle.

A source told The People newspaper:

"She has always felt it wasn't quite right for her.

"Heather put it on the market three weeks ago but she didn't initially let Paul know what she was planning.

"When he found out he told her he wanted to buy it off her because their daughter Bea loves it there. But she was having none of it and said, 'You're trying to take my house.'

"Heather knows Paul is just trying to be nice by offering to buy the house from her. But it seems she won't sell to him out of spite."

The source added that Heather also accused Paul of encouraging her former PR advisor Michele Elyzabeth to speak out about her conduct during their divorce.

The source told the national Sunday newspaper: "Paul has told Heather she needs to see a psychiatrist which made her even more furious.

"She told him he wasn't allowed to see Bea, because she's an evil whore saying he's not fit enough to be her dad because he encourages people to sell stories slagging off her mum."

The couple share legal custody of their four-year-old daughter.

A passenger who was on the relay swimmer's Southwest Airlines flight last night from Philadelphia to Austin has solved the medal mystery...a mystery that started when Hansen got off the plane and reported the medal missing.

Hansen says he put the medal in a bag under the seat in front of him and fell asleep. Then ... it disappeared. The FBI reportedly got involved in the investigation. No clue why this was an FBI case.

Here's what we know. The plane had a stopover in Nashville before going on to Austin. A passenger who got off the plane in Nashville found the medal and went to authorities. We don't know if that passenger took Hansen's bag off the plane or somehow just the medal

AMY WINEHOUSE's jailed husband is set to spend Christmas (08) behind bars after failing a second drugs test, according to reports.
Blake Fielder-Civil is serving a 27 month sentence at Highpoint prison in Suffolk, England for causing actual bodily harm (ABH) and perverting the course of justice.
The Back to Black hitmaker had hoped that her partner would be released on 30 December (08) for good behaviour.
However, Fielder-Civil is said to have been denied an early exit, after reportedly failing two drugs tests.
A source tells British newspaper The People, "She (Winehouse) has spent all summer trying to get herself clean and wanted Blake home. She is deeply saddened that she will be spending New Year alone."

Hollywood star Val Kilmer is tipped to become the next governor of his home state of New Mexico - by the politician currently in the hot seat.

Democrat Bill Richardson has to step down from the position when his second term ends in 2011 - and he would love to hand over the keys to the governor's mansion to Kilmer.

He says, "I like the idea. Val Kilmer is a New Mexican, he was Batman. You know there have been successful actors going into politics.

"I haven't talked to him about it, I don't know how serious he is, but you know if he jumps in a race he's got name ID, so it can't be discounted."

Kilmer - who is actively involved with the The Wildlife Center of New Mexico - wouldn't be the first actor to become a governor. Hollywood icons Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Reagan have both held the position in California.

T.I. Strikes Back Over Child Support Issue

T.I. wants everyone to know that he provides more for his children than most fathers and that his baby mama, who is taking him to court to get more child support, chooses not to work. In other words, she’s the one who can’t live off the $2,000 a month he currently gives her.

T.I. and his attorney John have released exclusive statements to StreetCred.com, a website that the rapper is a shareholder in, in regards to the reporting surrounding T.I.’s recent child support proceeding. Lashon Dixon, the mother of T.I.’s two sons Domani and Messiah, has taken legal action against the rap mogul claiming that he only provides $2,000 a month in child support and that she has a difficult time supporting the boys on this contribution.In response to the matter, T.I. released the following detailed statement exclusively to StreetCred.com:

“A lot of deceiving information has been reported regarding my recent child support proceeding. It is unfortunate that the media has been used to manipulate the circumstances and distort the facts. Those that know me, all know that there is nothing more important to me than my children. I have always supported all of my children financially, emotionally, and spiritually. This has always been the case and I will continue to do so in the future as this is my responsibility as a parent.

Imelda Marcos taken to hospital due to ankle sprain

MANILA, Philippines - Former first lady Imelda Marcos was taken to the Makati Medical Center on Saturday due to an ankle sprain, GMA News’ Weekend Report said early Sunday.

Mrs Marcos’ spokesperson Ding Diaz said the former first lady consulted a doctor and had an x-ray of her ankle.

Diaz declined to give more details.

The report said Mrs Marcos left the hospital later in the day.

Mrs Marcos gained fame for the extensive shoe collection and diamond-encrusted tiaras she left behind when she and her husband, the late dictator Ferdinand, fled the Philippines after his fall from power in a "people power" revolt in 1986.

They went to Hawaii, where Ferdinand Marcos died in exile in 1989.

She later returned to the Philippines and was an unsuccessful presidential candidate in 1998.

She is a regular sight in Manila, where a new generation of Filipinos looks on her as a well-coiffed eccentric. - GMANews.TV

Ok so I know I have absolutely not photographic proof but...

I work at the Apple Store in the Beverly Center and I was on my 15 minute break tonight so I thought I would take a quick stroll to the Auntie Anne's pretzel up in the food court. After I had finished my pretzel, I headed back down to the sixth floor (the floor of my store). As I was heading back, near the center of the mall, I saw some guy with nice hair. It hit me that it was Joe Jonas. And not only was it Joe Jonas but Taylor Swift was with him. And not only was Taylor Swift with him, but they were holding hands.

I almost started hyperventilating and I would have asked for a picture with them but they were with a big security guard even though the mall was empty. It was obviously the highlight of my week.

According to Cyrus's rep, Gaston, 20, is "a friend from Nashville." He met Cyrus, 15, earlier this year when he was a contestant on Nashville Star, hosted by her father, Billy Ray. Adds Gaston’s rep, Allen Osborne, “He's visiting L.A. for the week.”

A source close to Miley says, "They've been spending a lot of time together while he's in town."

Cam Gigandet, Shane West and Rachael Leigh Cook are in negotiations to star in "Kerosene Cowboys," an action thriller that Mario Van Peebles will direct for Svarog-Afterburner Films.

Based on a novel by Randy Arrington, the tale follows the rough-riding and hard-living pilots of an elite Navy attack squadron. Gigandet will star as a hot-shot pilot, West plays his one-time best friend-turned-nemesis, while Cook will play an investigative journalist and Gigandet's love interest.

First-time scribe Adam Prince wrote the screenplay from a story by Dave Riggs and Nickolai Susby, who are producing via Svarog-Afterburner.

The Collective's Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield packaged the film, and Redick will executive produce. Mansfield is co-producing alongside Afterburner's Sophia Russo. Bob Yari also will executive produce.

The producers are in negotiations with several companies for distribution.

The movie is eyeing shoots in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the Naval Air Station Fallon in Nevada in October. Arrangements are being made for access to military hardware in the U.S. and Russia, with plans involving use of actual MiGs and Sukhoi aircraft.

The Incredible Hulk star Edward Norton tells MTV he is uncertain about the green fella's future.

"The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque," Norton said. "I won't say [they're] obtuse, but I don't have any idea what they want to do."

He added he was not sure if he would be asked back for Marvel Studios' planned team-up project, The Avengers, scheduled for a July 2011 release.

"They've got this notion of collecting the Marvel characters," Norton said. "Who knows where they'll go?"

I think it's a shame. Although they can go all the way CGI Hulk for Avengers. But still, Banner's character still provides great drama.

I mean, Ang's hulk sucked so bad that people got scared. Hopefully the DVD sales get better, and hopefully it has a director's cut, cos Letterier cut out A LOT to please the people up there. In any case, i thought the movie was great.

LITTLE BRITAIN ANGERS GAY RIGHTS GROUPS

British comedy series Little Britain USA has sparked outrage in America - with a gay rights group calling the programme "offensive" and "obnoxious".

The sketch show, which stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas, is a spin-off based on the original U.K. series and reportedly features male full-frontal nudity as well as a series of lesbian and gay gags.

And the controversial content has angered officials at the West Hollywood Gay and Lesbian Alliance.

A spokesman for the organisation says, "This is the most politically incorrect, offensive and obnoxious material ever seen in this country."

A representative for U.S. TV network HBO, the channel that plans to screen the show from 28 September, claims officials will be taking note of any complaints about the material but insists that the series is about overcoming prejudices and leads the way in "edgy programming".

Is it just me or are GLTB rights groups consistently missing the point of everything?

Edit: It's a bit late now but this has been debunked here, thanks to the people who pointed that out to me. I didn't realise there were issues with some media trying to discredit GLTB organisations in general, which is pretty sick.
